:00:10. > :00:12.Morning everyone, Leah with today's Newsround.

:00:13. > :00:14.First, in a few hours' time, one of the most ground-breaking,

:00:15. > :00:19.epic space missions of our time, will reach its grand finale.

:00:20. > :00:48.After launching in 2004, it took Rosetta ten years to catch

:00:49. > :00:54.After such a long journey, you'd hope things wouldn't

:00:55. > :01:03.In 2014, Rosetta tried to attach a special space probe called

:01:04. > :01:08.But instead, it bounced a few times and got stuck

:01:09. > :01:15.Bad news for a space probe that's powered by sunlight.

:01:16. > :01:19.With no sunlight, Philae's batteries ran out after just three days.

:01:20. > :01:30.In 2015, Philae woke up from hibernation as the comet it's

:01:31. > :01:34.on got nearer to the sun and sent back lots of information to Earth.

:01:35. > :01:41.And in 2016, the location of Philae was discovered.

:01:42. > :01:47.It was wedged in a dark crack on the comet.

:01:48. > :01:50.While all this has been happening, the Rosetta spacecraft was orbiting

:01:51. > :01:54.around the comet but now its journey is coming to an end with a bang.

:01:55. > :02:00.Rosetta will join Philae by crashing into the surface of the comet,

:02:01. > :02:04.sending lots more info back to Earth in the process,

:02:05. > :02:13.Well, Rosetta's had quite a journey and joining me now to talk

:02:14. > :02:24.about it is space expert, Dr Sarah Crowther.

:02:25. > :02:34.What has Rosetta taught us about comets? Festival, this is the first

:02:35. > :02:38.mission to orbit the comet and the first spacecraft to land on a comet.

:02:39. > :02:43.Rosetta has been studying the comet for a couple of years, it has taken

:02:44. > :02:46.loads of photos, it has looked at the dust and gas coming of the comet

:02:47. > :02:53.and it has changed our understanding. Why has it come to

:02:54. > :02:58.the end now? , it has a strange orbit, the earth goes around the sun

:02:59. > :03:02.in a circle but comets can go very close all very far from the sun.

:03:03. > :03:06.This comet has come close to the Sun and it is now moving away. As the

:03:07. > :03:11.spacecraft is powered by the sun, there is not enough energy to keep

:03:12. > :03:15.it going. So what next, will it be able to investigate other comet or

:03:16. > :03:20.that is it? It is crashing into the surface of this comet was so later

:03:21. > :03:25.this morning it will crash into the surface, it will take really close

:03:26. > :03:29.up pictures as it gets close but once it crashes, that's the end.

:03:30. > :03:31.Goodbye, Rosetta! Thank you, we will talk to you later about this.

:03:32. > :03:34.To stars of a different kind now, Manchester United were in action

:03:35. > :03:36.in the Europa League last night but their display

:03:37. > :03:38.They were up against Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk

:03:39. > :03:42.and despite dominating possession United fans had to wait

:03:43. > :03:47.until the 69th minute for the only goal of the game.

:03:48. > :03:50.Wayne Rooney, who had only just come on as a substitute, miscued his

:03:51. > :03:53.effort but Zlatan Ibrahimovic was in the right place to save

:03:54. > :04:07.So we had to play, I don't say amazingly well, because we didn't,

:04:08. > :04:15.Some exciting news for One Direction fans.

:04:16. > :04:24.Niall Horan's dropped his first solo single.

:04:25. > :04:34.# I want to tell you everything, words I never got to sing... .

:04:35. > :04:39.The singer's announced he's signed a record deal and told fans he's

:04:40. > :04:41.looking forward to the next part of his journey.

:04:42. > :04:43.And finally, it's Friday so here's 23 panda cubs for you.

:04:44. > :04:46.They're being shown off at a Panda breeding centre in China.

:04:47. > :04:51.They're aged between about one and four months old with some able

:04:52. > :04:55.That's all from me, Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.
