:00:08. > :00:11.I'm Naz, and here's what's coming up on Friday's Newsround.
:00:12. > :00:12.Niall from One Direction's new direction.
:00:13. > :00:27.But first, one of the most epic and daring space missions ever has
:00:28. > :00:33.The Rosetta spacecraft was the first to travel to a comet in space,
:00:34. > :00:35.sending back thousands of amazing images.
:00:36. > :00:40.Today, after 12 years, it ended its mission by deliberately
:00:41. > :00:42.crash-landing on to the very comet that it had been studying.
:00:43. > :00:44.It was a big moment for the scientists watching
:00:45. > :01:00.at the European Space Agency HQ in Germany.
:01:01. > :01:09.You have 300 people watching the signal and suddenly wasn't there
:01:10. > :01:14.more, it eyed. There was a side of sorrow and then a spontaneous
:01:15. > :01:18.standing ovation. There was no cheering, just clapping in
:01:19. > :01:23.acknowledgement of the fantastic job that the spacecraft operations staff
:01:24. > :01:28.had down. Absolutely superb. And then we saw the images. Amazing
:01:29. > :01:34.images. The last one was five metres above the surface. Stupendous.
:01:35. > :01:36.Well, scientists reckon that all the pictures and information
:01:37. > :01:38.the spacecraft has sent back during its mission will keep
:01:39. > :01:41.But Rosetta's 12-year space voyage hasn't been entirely smooth,
:01:42. > :02:13.After launching in 2004, it took Rosetta ten years to catch up with
:02:14. > :02:16.the super speedy comet. After such a long journey, the you would hope
:02:17. > :02:24.things would not go wrong, but they did. In 2014, Rosetta tried to
:02:25. > :02:29.attach a special space probe onto the comet. But instead, it ounce to
:02:30. > :02:36.a few times and got stuck somewhere dark on the comet. Bad news for a
:02:37. > :02:40.space probe powered by sunlight. With no sunlight, the batteries ran
:02:41. > :02:49.out after just three days and it went into hibernation mode. Was this
:02:50. > :02:53.the end? Not so. In 2015, it woke up from hibernation as the comet got
:02:54. > :03:01.nearer to the sun and sent back lots of information to earth. And in
:03:02. > :03:07.2016, the location of the probe was discovered, wedged in a dark crack
:03:08. > :03:10.on the comet. Whilst this had been happening, the Rosetta spacecraft
:03:11. > :03:13.was orbiting the comet. But now its journey has come to an end with a
:03:14. > :03:16.bang, well, a crash. Well, it's also a bit
:03:17. > :03:19.emotional for fans of Niall from One Direction,
:03:20. > :03:21.who've had a big surprise. The star's dropped his first solo
:03:22. > :03:32.single, called This Town. # Waking up to kiss you and nobody's
:03:33. > :03:37.there # The smell of your perfume still
:03:38. > :03:40.stuck in the air. #
:03:41. > :03:45.This is his new track but doesn't sound a little familiar?
:03:46. > :03:51.# And all these little things. #
:03:52. > :03:57.It sounds and looks a bit like little things, don't you think? Both
:03:58. > :04:02.black and white and there he is showing off he can play bigger task.
:04:03. > :04:06.Look, there he is again with that guitar. And surprisingly, the one
:04:07. > :04:12.Direction boys have only just heard it themselves. I presume they have
:04:13. > :04:17.heard it now. When I saw them last I did not have a version of it to
:04:18. > :04:18.play. They knew it was coming. Good news for fans, an album coming next
:04:19. > :04:21.year. Prince George and Princess Charlotte
:04:22. > :04:25.have been enjoying a kids' party in Canada, as they continue
:04:26. > :04:27.their tour with their parents, Charlotte seemed quite taken
:04:28. > :04:31.by the balloons and was heard speaking in public
:04:32. > :04:33.for the first time - Her older brother George
:04:34. > :04:36.joined in the fun too. He also had a ride on a miniature
:04:37. > :04:39.pony. And While George has a miniature
:04:40. > :04:42.pony, I give you 23 panda cubs. They've been shown off at a breeding
:04:43. > :04:45.centre in China, where they work These cuties are all aged
:04:46. > :04:49.between about one and four months, with some already able
:04:50. > :04:53.to crawl a few inches.
