:00:08. > :00:13.I'm Leah you're live with Newsround. I'm taking charge of CBBC for the
:00:13. > :00:16.next five with some of this on the way. It's official - Becks is on
:00:16. > :00:21.the move. We'll tell you which club has snapped up football's global
:00:21. > :00:29.superstar. And the government promises not to sell off England's
:00:29. > :00:33.forests. This Is Newsround. First, David Beckham has swapped the glitz
:00:33. > :00:39.of Los Angeles for the glamour of Paris. He's in France right now,
:00:39. > :00:42.being unveiled as the new star of Paris St Germain. Becks has been
:00:42. > :00:45.without a club since leaving American side LA Galaxy in December,
:00:45. > :00:50.but he's been training with Arsenal recently. He had offers from 12
:00:50. > :00:54.different clubs but he's decided on the big spenders of French football.
:00:54. > :01:01.PSG are top of the league and have spent over 200 million in the last
:01:01. > :01:10.18 months. Back here in the UK, the clock is ticking. It's transfer
:01:10. > :01:13.deadline day. That is a good clock! Today, clubs all around Europe are
:01:13. > :01:16.trying to make their squads better before the transfer window slams
:01:16. > :01:26.shut at 11 o'clock tonight. From then, clubs can't sign new players
:01:26. > :01:31.for the rest of the season. You are keeping across these moves today.
:01:31. > :01:37.David Beckham is the biggest so far? He grabs the headlines today
:01:37. > :01:42.and people did not expect this to happen as it has. He has always
:01:42. > :01:46.played for big teams. At this stage in his career, the promise of
:01:46. > :01:53.Champions League football is a draw. The fact that it is Paris will suit
:01:53. > :01:57.the family. You mentioned they are rich, they are one of the biggest
:01:57. > :02:04.spending clubs. And the brand of David Beckham works, as well. They
:02:04. > :02:09.are probably already selling kit with his name on the back. I have
:02:09. > :02:13.to mention Mario Balotelli. I am missing him. That is a loss to
:02:13. > :02:20.Manchester City? In terms of personality, yes, in terms of
:02:20. > :02:25.quality, maybe not, he did not score that many goals this season.
:02:25. > :02:30.Be had and on and off relationship with the manager of. He is only 22
:02:30. > :02:35.years old. Alan Shearer said that he hopes he does not reach the age
:02:35. > :02:44.of 30 and think what player could I have been? Maybe it is the right
:02:44. > :02:47.move for him, AC Milan. For the past two years the future of
:02:47. > :02:50.England's forests has been in doubt with concerns that some woodland
:02:50. > :02:54.areas might be sold off. But today the government confirmed that's not
:02:54. > :02:58.going to happen. In fact, they have come up with a plan that will help
:02:58. > :03:01.protect woodlands for future generations. Three years ago, the
:03:01. > :03:05.British public revealed just how much our forests mean to lots of us.
:03:05. > :03:07.Hundreds of people took to their local woods in an effort to keep
:03:07. > :03:10.them safe and publicly owned. The government had announced they
:03:10. > :03:19.wanted to sell off chunks but the plans got people pretty angry-
:03:19. > :03:29.forcing the government to admit. They had to apologise. "I'm sorry.
:03:29. > :03:32.We got this one wrong". Fast forward to today and the government
:03:32. > :03:35.has had had a big rethink. They announced forests definitely will
:03:35. > :03:41.not be sold. Instead they will be getting even bigger, meaning
:03:41. > :03:45.millions more trees planted. have one of the lowest forested
:03:45. > :03:51.areas of any country in Western Europe and we need more forests.
:03:51. > :03:56.This environment is rich when it comes to supporting wildlife.
:03:56. > :04:01.a new organisation will be created to managed to the woodland and
:04:01. > :04:04.there will be an expansion project. And they want to see more children
:04:04. > :04:09.from different areas out here learning and been involved in
:04:09. > :04:13.management. You might have lessons out yet! It seems that looking
:04:13. > :04:19.after the forests will not be a walk in the park. This story showed
:04:19. > :04:23.there are lots of people who are willing to help out.
:04:23. > :04:26.Next, new stats from the 2011 Census, a survey of the people of
:04:26. > :04:35.England and Wales - have given us a great snapshot of the huge variety
:04:35. > :04:44.of languages spoken here. So what are these guys saying? SPEAKS WELSH.
