:00:00. > :00:07.Welcome to the week. I'm Ayshah with the day's biggest stories on the
:00:08. > :00:10.way. The lucky baton bearers for the
:00:11. > :00:16.Commonwealth Games find out who they are.
:00:17. > :00:18.And could Liverpool be on the verge of their first league title in 24
:00:19. > :00:24.years? This is Newsround. Let's start with the news that one
:00:25. > :00:27.of the UK's leading disability charities has told Newsround that
:00:28. > :00:30.there are not enough clubs out there for kids with disabilities.
:00:31. > :00:33.According to Scope many kids don't feel welcome at clubs and in some
:00:34. > :00:41.cases even get turned away because of their disability. Here's Martin
:00:42. > :00:46.with more. Whether you have a disability or
:00:47. > :00:51.not, we know for lots of you, going to sports clubs or youth groups is a
:00:52. > :00:56.big part of daily life. When I was growing up, I had a lot of physical
:00:57. > :00:59.challenges and struggled to walk. But I always manage to get involved
:01:00. > :01:04.with the social clubs that my friends went to. At for many
:01:05. > :01:12.disabled kids, that is not the case. -- but for many. Lots of disabled
:01:13. > :01:16.kids find it hard to take part in their local clubs, often because
:01:17. > :01:21.they feel they are unwelcoming, or even sometimes they get turned away.
:01:22. > :01:30.I wanted to speak to kids growing up with a disability to Dave. -- today.
:01:31. > :01:35.People don't understand that it doesn't matter, you can still join
:01:36. > :01:39.in with what ever clubs you want to. On a Saturday I go to a swimming
:01:40. > :01:43.club, it is just for disabled people, I really enjoy it but I
:01:44. > :01:49.would like to go to clubs where there are different people and not
:01:50. > :01:52.just disabled people. It is not getting out there that is the
:01:53. > :01:58.problem, it is just having places to go. The picture is mixed, but Scope
:01:59. > :02:01.say that the people who run these clubs need more training to make
:02:02. > :02:07.them more welcoming for disabled children. One of the UK's top
:02:08. > :02:12.Paralympians doesn't agree with everything the charity says. I don't
:02:13. > :02:15.agree with the statistic at all. There are so many clubs where you
:02:16. > :02:19.can go along, make new friends, have a lot of fun and even if it is not
:02:20. > :02:23.aimed at you, you can still join in. Next, the effects of climate change
:02:24. > :02:26.have been debated for years but a major report on the subject has
:02:27. > :02:30.warned it could have big effect on many areas of our lives in the
:02:31. > :02:32.future. The study claims that rising temperatures could pose potential
:02:33. > :02:35.threats to the health, homes, and food supplies of people around the
:02:36. > :02:38.world. Some people have questioned how much human behaviour affects
:02:39. > :02:40.climate change, but the United Nation's climate panel say the
:02:41. > :02:47.report provides overwhelming evidence. But scientists, meeting to
:02:48. > :02:51.discuss the subject in Japan, say there are things people around the
:02:52. > :02:53.world can do that could reduce the effects.
:02:54. > :02:56.Dredging will start start today on one of the areas that was worst
:02:57. > :03:00.affected by the UK floods earlier this year. The Environment Agency
:03:01. > :03:04.will start work on trying to reduce some of the causes of flooding on
:03:05. > :03:07.the Somerset Levels. Dredging involves removing silt that builds
:03:08. > :03:12.up in rivers to increase their capacity. Not everyone agrees it's
:03:13. > :03:20.the best way to prevent flooding. The BBC's John Maguire is at the
:03:21. > :03:24.dredging site. They have started some of the preparation works and
:03:25. > :03:34.doing some test dredging. You can see the big rix, -- rigs, they are
:03:35. > :03:37.the scoops that will scoop the silt and the mud out of the bottom of the
:03:38. > :03:40.river. Footy news and Liverpool have the
:03:41. > :03:44.Premier League title in their own hands after a stunning 4-0 win over
:03:45. > :03:48.Spurs yesterday. Luis Suarez scored his 29th goal of the season to help
:03:49. > :03:51.them on their way. The result means that if the Reds win their remaining
:03:52. > :03:55.six games, including a crucial one against Man City, they will be
:03:56. > :04:01.champions for the first time in more than 20 years. There are still a lot
:04:02. > :04:07.of points to play for. We have got six games to go. You can only take
:04:08. > :04:10.three points from each game. For us, it is focusing on the next game.
:04:11. > :04:13.And in tennis Novak Djokovic saw off world number one Rafael Nadal to win
:04:14. > :04:16.the Miami Masters. Djokovic completely dominated the match,
:04:17. > :04:20.winning 6-3, 6-3. It's the fourth time Djokovic has won the title and
:04:21. > :04:30.he was pretty pleased with the way he played. I am overwhelmed with the
:04:31. > :04:34.performance today. It is incredible. I stepped in, I used
:04:35. > :04:36.every opportunity I was presented with and I am very satisfied.
:04:37. > :04:39.Finally thousands of people in Scotland will find out today if
:04:40. > :04:43.they've been chosen to carry the Queen's baton in the run up to the
:04:44. > :04:47.Commonwealth Games. Up to 4,000 people will be chosen as part of a
:04:48. > :04:50.40-day tour through Scotland in June and July. All Scottish secondary
:04:51. > :04:53.schools were allowed to nominate a pupil. At the moment, the baton is
:04:54. > :04:55.travelling round other Commonwealth countries, soaking up the sun in the
:04:56. > :04:58.Caribbean. That's your lot. Nel's here at
:04:59. > :05:02.4:20pm with your afternoon headlines.
