0:00:11 > 0:00:12Hi, welcome to Newsround.

0:00:12 > 0:00:14I'm Leah.

0:00:14 > 0:00:17Our top story today is that more than half of gamers say they've been

0:00:17 > 0:00:19bullied while playing online.

0:00:19 > 0:00:22That's according to a survey by the charity, Ditch the Label,

0:00:22 > 0:00:25who spoke to people aged 12 to 25.

0:00:25 > 0:00:30So - how can you keep yourself safe when gaming?

0:00:30 > 0:00:31Whitney's got this.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35Playing games online is something many of you enjoy, right?

0:00:35 > 0:00:37But sometimes it can turn a bit nasty when people

0:00:37 > 0:00:41say stuff like this.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44So, what should you do if it happens to you?

0:00:44 > 0:00:47Well, if someone sends you a nasty message,

0:00:47 > 0:00:51it can be tempting to respond in the same way sometimes.

0:00:51 > 0:00:54But that can actually make things worse.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56If it is safe to reply, you can calmly explain

0:00:56 > 0:00:59why it has upset you, but it can be better

0:00:59 > 0:01:01to just not respond at all.

0:01:01 > 0:01:07Remember, you can block or report the person to moderators.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Another option is to just turn off the chat.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Even if you don't want to report a bully, it is important

0:01:12 > 0:01:14to share what has happened with someone you trust.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18That can be a friend, a teacher, or a family member.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Be cautious about who you talk to and don't connect with anyone

0:01:21 > 0:01:23you don't know in real life.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26People aren't always who they say they are.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30And remember, never ever give away personal details like your name,

0:01:30 > 0:01:34telephone number, or address.

0:01:34 > 0:01:38And that is our top tips for staying safe online.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Next - you're just over 60 seconds away

0:01:40 > 0:01:43from finding out why Hacker T Dog has been dipping his paw

0:01:43 > 0:01:45into the world of politics.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Before that, here's Martin to explain how

0:01:47 > 0:01:55a general election works...

0:01:55 > 0:02:01How does an election worke?

0:02:01 > 0:02:05The UK has 650

0:02:05 > 0:02:06areas or consistency.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09Each has an MP the present Derry represent.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11All get a seat at the house of parliament.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14At a general election, adults over 18 get to vote

0:02:14 > 0:02:16for who should be the MP of the area.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19On election day, people go to polling stations to vote.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23They get a ballot paper with the names of all the candidates.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25That's the people running to be MP.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30They put a cross next to the person they most want to represent them.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34The candidate who gets the most votes becomes MP.

0:02:34 > 0:02:38Most MPs are part of groups called political parties.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41Usually, the party that gets the most MPs out of the 650

0:02:41 > 0:02:44forms the new government.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46Which runs the country.

0:02:46 > 0:02:52And that party's leader becomes Prime Minister and moved

0:02:52 > 0:02:54into number ten Downing St.
