0:00:42 > 0:00:46she was 20 years old.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55Prince William and Prince Harry were born but Charles and Diana had

0:01:22 > 0:01:27But then, on the 31st of August 1997, the world was shocked

0:01:27 > 0:01:30and Princess Diana died in a car crash in the French

0:01:30 > 0:01:32capital of Paris.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40for the public's huge support following the death of Diana,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49she needs all the praise she can get and it's very sad

0:01:50 > 0:01:55I think everybody in the whole world is going to miss her.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00Diana had been a big part of public life and many people

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Thousands of people made the trip to Kensington Palace

0:02:04 > 0:02:07where she lived to leave cards, flowers and messages

0:02:07 > 0:02:09for her as a tribute.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Thousands more lined the streets for her funeral and millions

0:02:12 > 0:02:16in the UK and around the world watched it on TV.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20Since their mother's death, Princes William and Harry have

0:02:20 > 0:02:23continued a lot of her charity work and they have spoken

0:02:25 > 0:02:29We both incredibly loved her and I am very grateful

0:03:21 > 0:03:23207 metres above high tide.

0:03:23 > 0:03:29That's as high as 48 double decker buses stacked on top of each other.

0:03:29 > 0:03:33The steel in the bridge deck weighs 35,000 tonnes.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37That's almost 200 Boeing 747s.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40It has special wind shields along each side to protect traffic

0:03:40 > 0:03:45from wind, so it can stay open even in the stormiest of conditions -

0:03:45 > 0:03:48much needed on the windy Forth Estuary.

0:03:48 > 0:03:53The foundation supports are sunk into the mud down to the bedrock,

0:03:53 > 0:03:57just one of them is as tall as the Statue of Liberty.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01And an online ballot was held to give 50,000 people the once

0:04:01 > 0:04:04in a lifetime chance to walk across the bridge.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06Nearly five times that number a applied.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09Most are from Scotland and the rest of the UK,

0:04:09 > 0:04:14but some are from the US, India and one is from Slovakia.

0:04:14 > 0:04:18The Queen officially opened it on Monday and the day after 10,000

0:04:18 > 0:04:22local school kids will be able to walk on the bridge too.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25Then on Thursday next week, the Queensferry crossing

0:04:25 > 0:04:30will open for business.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32Now, take a look at a very special toilet.

0:04:32 > 0:04:37This is a loo made of solid gold that's worth a million pounds.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Designed by an Italian artist, it's been installed

0:04:39 > 0:04:42in New York's Guggenheim Museum.

0:04:42 > 0:04:46It works like a normal toilet and more than 100,000 visitors have

0:04:46 > 0:04:50already queued up to spend a penny.
