0:00:02 > 0:00:04Nine Minute Ninja.
0:00:05 > 0:00:07Time to get my ninja on...
0:00:07 > 0:00:08and my clothes.
0:00:22 > 0:00:24Art Ninja.
0:00:24 > 0:00:25HE SNEEZES
0:00:26 > 0:00:29- Dad, you put the kettle on yet? - No, I'm disinfecting.
0:00:29 > 0:00:32I hope you're wearing gloves. That's some strong stuff.
0:00:32 > 0:00:35Of course! I've got your lilac gloves with the floral cuffs.
0:00:35 > 0:00:39Er, they're not mine. Someone must've left them here.
0:00:39 > 0:00:41- TV:- Hey, you there!
0:00:41 > 0:00:43This guy's always on telly.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45He thinks he's got the world in the palm of his hand.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48Here's something you'll just have to own.
0:00:48 > 0:00:53A unique piece of art - it's a picture of your fingerprint.
0:00:54 > 0:00:56I was right about the hand.
0:00:56 > 0:00:59And worry not! Although it's a massive fingerprint,
0:00:59 > 0:01:00you won't need a big hand.
0:01:00 > 0:01:03Here's how you make it.
0:01:03 > 0:01:08You'll need a tray, some paper and an inkpad.
0:01:09 > 0:01:11Now you need to make a fingerprint.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18With a photocopier or computer,
0:01:18 > 0:01:22enlarge to make the fingerprint fill an A4 page.
0:01:23 > 0:01:25Gigantic.
0:01:26 > 0:01:31Next, you'll need some PVA glue with a nozzle, preferably.
0:01:32 > 0:01:34You must apply the glue to the print.
0:01:34 > 0:01:38Ensure you follow the lines of the fingerprint very carefully
0:01:38 > 0:01:40to make sure they are all covered.
0:01:41 > 0:01:44The glue application may take some time.
0:01:44 > 0:01:45Phew!
0:01:48 > 0:01:51Grab some glitter and sprinkle liberally over the glued lines.
0:01:55 > 0:01:57Once your print is covered with glitter,
0:01:57 > 0:02:02shake off the excess glitter onto the tray. Mesmerising!
0:02:03 > 0:02:05Shaky-shaky.
0:02:05 > 0:02:11Finally, get a frame and attach it to your fingerprint picture
0:02:14 > 0:02:15Perfect!
0:02:16 > 0:02:18The fingerprint picture!
0:02:18 > 0:02:20Available on a hand near you!
0:02:25 > 0:02:29Wow. Have to get my hands on one of those.
0:02:29 > 0:02:30Art Ninja!
0:02:30 > 0:02:34I remember when these guys were just knee-high to a grasshopper.
0:02:34 > 0:02:36Do you know what? I'll show you how to make your own.
0:02:38 > 0:02:41I think I've got everything I need.
0:02:41 > 0:02:46Got my soil, grass seeds, yoghurt pot and tights...and some water.
0:02:46 > 0:02:49OK, so a tufty-head is basically some seeds
0:02:49 > 0:02:52and soil in the end of some old tights.
0:02:52 > 0:02:56Ask your mum sister or auntie, but please ask, or you and me
0:02:56 > 0:02:57could both be in trouble.
0:02:57 > 0:03:02I'm going to use a mug, like that. Holds it open nicely.
0:03:02 > 0:03:04Then, you could put in some seeds.
0:03:04 > 0:03:08Now, quite a generous portion, I'd say just over a teaspoon,
0:03:08 > 0:03:10cos they're going to grow the hair of the tufty-head.
0:03:10 > 0:03:13So, just throw them in like that.
0:03:13 > 0:03:17Right, then, quite a generous amount of soil.
0:03:18 > 0:03:20Make use it's nicely full, push it down.
0:03:22 > 0:03:26OK, then slide it off and make sure it all goes down to the bottom
0:03:26 > 0:03:29in a nice big ball like that.
0:03:29 > 0:03:31And tie a knot in the end of the tights
0:03:31 > 0:03:33to keep all the soil in place...
0:03:34 > 0:03:35..like so.
0:03:37 > 0:03:38Get your yoghurt pot
0:03:38 > 0:03:41and fill it with water - about a third of the way up.
0:03:44 > 0:03:49And then, knot first, put your tights full of soil into it,
0:03:49 > 0:03:51so all the seeds are at the top.
0:03:51 > 0:03:53Then, the water will start to soak its way up the tights,
0:03:53 > 0:03:55through the soil and feed the seeds at the top.
0:03:55 > 0:03:58And after about two weeks, watering it every day,
0:03:58 > 0:04:00left in a sunny place...
0:04:00 > 0:04:02It'll look like this!
0:04:02 > 0:04:05Looks good and green, but lacks character,
0:04:05 > 0:04:06but we'll soon fix that.
0:04:06 > 0:04:10You need to get some card and start drawing some eyes and a mouth.
0:04:16 > 0:04:17Cool.
0:04:17 > 0:04:21Once you've cut them out, you need to stick them to your tufty-head.
0:04:21 > 0:04:22I'm using some sticky-tack.
0:04:24 > 0:04:25Right about there.
0:04:30 > 0:04:33Ah, yeah! Looks awesome, doesn't he?
0:04:34 > 0:04:36Right, let's get him back up on that window sill.
0:04:38 > 0:04:40All they need now is sunshine.
0:04:43 > 0:04:47MUSIC: Bicycle Race by Queen
0:04:53 > 0:04:57I've got an idea that will transform your bike into a crazy
0:04:57 > 0:04:58mobile animation machine.
0:05:05 > 0:05:06Pretty cool, huh?
0:05:06 > 0:05:09You can make an awesome mobile bike-wheel animation with
0:05:09 > 0:05:13cardboard, some scissors, a bike and a camera.
0:05:13 > 0:05:16And you can make this animation in just three ninja moves.
0:05:16 > 0:05:18Ninja move number one.
0:05:19 > 0:05:23As I'm in a skate park, I'm going to do, well, a skateboarding trick - a kickflip.
0:05:23 > 0:05:26So, I'm just going to start by drawing some guide images.
0:05:29 > 0:05:32And I'm going to do an animation cycle of ten frames.
0:05:32 > 0:05:35I think that's just the right amount of room to go around the wheel.
0:05:35 > 0:05:37I've got a bit of old scrap card
0:05:37 > 0:05:39and I measured it to make sure it would fit the wheel.
0:05:39 > 0:05:44Now, I folded it into tenths, so I've got the right amount of space around the wheel for my ten frames.
0:05:44 > 0:05:46This ends up being about that size.
0:05:46 > 0:05:49That is a good guide for how much frame space I have to work with,
0:05:49 > 0:05:51so I'm going to cut that bit out
0:05:51 > 0:05:53and that's how much space I'm going to have.
0:05:53 > 0:05:55So, I'm going to draw around that.
0:05:55 > 0:05:59These are my templates for my ten frames.
0:05:59 > 0:06:01OK, now I'm going to roughly draw my character
0:06:01 > 0:06:03on to teach of these templates.
0:06:03 > 0:06:05My drawings don't have to be perfect
0:06:05 > 0:06:06cos I'm going to cut them out anyway.
0:06:06 > 0:06:09If there's loads to cut out, get someone to help you.
0:06:10 > 0:06:13I'm thinking, when the board turns over, I'd like it to be
0:06:13 > 0:06:16a different colour, just so it gives you the idea of it being 3D.
0:06:16 > 0:06:20So, I'm replacing the upside-down skateboards with red card versions.
0:06:23 > 0:06:25Ninja move number two.
0:06:25 > 0:06:28It's time to attach my frames to my bike wheel
0:06:28 > 0:06:30and I'm going to do that with some thick, black tape.
0:06:30 > 0:06:33So, I'm attaching my frames to the bike wheel by putting black
0:06:33 > 0:06:36tape on one side of the spokes and the frames on the other.
0:06:36 > 0:06:39Make sure you take care when you're positioning your frames
0:06:39 > 0:06:41and be sure that they're an equal distance apart.
0:06:42 > 0:06:46I'm using thin card for this animation and this is because,
0:06:46 > 0:06:48if any of the frames fall off, the card is not strong enough
0:06:48 > 0:06:52to get caught in the spokes and stop the wheel, so it's safe.
0:06:55 > 0:06:57Check out that!
0:06:57 > 0:07:00It's looking good even without animating it.
0:07:00 > 0:07:02Ninja move number three.
0:07:02 > 0:07:03It's time to capture your animation.
0:07:03 > 0:07:05You can either put your bike upside-down and crank
0:07:05 > 0:07:09the pedals, and shoot in just the right place to get the animation,
0:07:09 > 0:07:11or you can do what I'm going to do
0:07:11 > 0:07:13and take this mini masterpiece for a spin.
0:07:16 > 0:07:18You can't see this through the naked eye,
0:07:18 > 0:07:21only through a camera view-finder, so get one of your mates to
0:07:21 > 0:07:24video it when you cycle around or crank the wheel yourself.
0:07:24 > 0:07:27Simply play it back to see the optical illusion in action.
0:07:29 > 0:07:33There you go - an awesome bike-wheel animation.
0:07:33 > 0:07:34Pretty easy to pick up.
0:07:34 > 0:07:35It's hard to forget.
0:07:35 > 0:07:37It's a bit like riding a bike.
0:07:40 > 0:07:43Now, you get animating. Imagine what you could do!
0:07:45 > 0:07:46Art Ninja!
0:07:48 > 0:07:49Here's a real quick art tip -
0:07:49 > 0:07:53how to make things look like they're moving really fast.
0:07:53 > 0:07:56Now, I'm going to start my drawing with a car cos cars are quick.
0:07:56 > 0:08:00Windscreen, couple of wheels, there's the light.
0:08:00 > 0:08:03Now I'm going to draw the driver, so here he is in there.
0:08:05 > 0:08:07Hands on the wheel, ten and two.
0:08:08 > 0:08:12And I'm going to give him some hair and I'm going to do this with zigzag lines going backwards
0:08:12 > 0:08:14to show the wind going through his hair.
0:08:14 > 0:08:17Now, I'm going to add some action lines behind the car.
0:08:17 > 0:08:20So, whichever way your character's travelling,
0:08:20 > 0:08:21make sure your action lines are behind.
0:08:23 > 0:08:25And this makes it look like it's travelling really fast.
0:08:27 > 0:08:29On the wheels, I'm going to add some, too.
0:08:30 > 0:08:34But on these, I'm going to put a little curve, just to show that the wheel's going round.
0:08:34 > 0:08:36And finally, for extra speed,
0:08:36 > 0:08:39I'm going to add a puff of smoke coming out of the back of the car.
0:08:42 > 0:08:43There we go - a quick art tip.
0:08:47 > 0:08:49CAR ENGINE RUNNING
