0:00:24 > 0:00:27KNOCK ON DOOR

0:00:27 > 0:00:28Oh, hey, Gavin. What's up?

0:00:28 > 0:00:29Hey, dude.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31This is my dog.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33DOG WHINES

0:00:33 > 0:00:34What's his name?

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Dog.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Imaginative name(!)

0:00:37 > 0:00:40Yeah, listen - could you look after him while I pop out for a bit?

0:00:40 > 0:00:42- No, Gav.- Thanks so much, see you later.- Gav, no, mate. But...

0:00:42 > 0:00:44my dad's allergic.

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Achoo!

0:00:45 > 0:00:46What am I going to do now?

0:00:46 > 0:00:49If my dad comes over he'll sneeze the house down.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51DOG WHINES Oh, well.

0:00:51 > 0:00:53Here you go, Dog.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Make yourself at home.

0:00:57 > 0:01:01'Oh! I see you found yourself a comfy spot, Dog.'

0:01:01 > 0:01:03KNOCK ON DOOR

0:01:03 > 0:01:05- Oh, hey, Sarah.- Hi, Ricky.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07Just wondered if you could look after Lola for me?

0:01:07 > 0:01:08- Just need to nip out.- Oh. Erm,

0:01:08 > 0:01:10it's a little inconvenient, actually.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12My dad's coming over and she'll bring him out in hives.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15She's a dog, not a bee, Ricky. Thanks. Bye.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21They say that pets look like their owners

0:01:21 > 0:01:24and, seeing as I've got Gav's and Sarah's dog here,

0:01:24 > 0:01:27I think I'm in a unique position to test out that theory.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36So I sent my pictures to my laptop.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38'Here's my chosen picture of Lola,

0:01:38 > 0:01:39'and I've also got one of Sarah.'

0:01:39 > 0:01:41And what I need to do to start with

0:01:41 > 0:01:43is get rid of Sarah's head

0:01:43 > 0:01:45so I can put Lola's head on there.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47'I'm using a free photo manipulation tool.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49'There's plenty available online.'

0:01:49 > 0:01:52And I'm going to copy a bit of the background behind Sarah

0:01:52 > 0:01:53to paint out her head.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55'No offence, Sarah.'

0:01:55 > 0:01:57So I hold down control

0:01:57 > 0:01:59and I click that part of the background there.

0:01:59 > 0:02:03And, look - where I draw now, that bit will be copied to where I am.

0:02:03 > 0:02:04There we go.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Bye, Sarah.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Beautiful.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11Now I need to get Lola's head ready.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13So I'm going to use the lasso tool to crop it out.

0:02:13 > 0:02:17And the lasso tool is for selecting a specific area of your picture.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21These points represent the area that I'm going to copy

0:02:21 > 0:02:23from this picture to the other one.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25Top bit of her head.

0:02:28 > 0:02:33Now I'm going to copy Lola's head, so edit, copy.

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Go onto my picture of Sarah,

0:02:34 > 0:02:37and I'm going to paste it as a new layer.

0:02:38 > 0:02:39There we go.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42And move it around.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45And need to resize it cos it's a bit big at the moment.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47If I hold down control,

0:02:47 > 0:02:50it'll make it a bit smaller.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52And then I'm going to drag it

0:02:52 > 0:02:55onto Sarah's body.

0:02:55 > 0:02:56Looking good, Sarah.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58Or should I say, "Lola"?

0:03:00 > 0:03:04Now it's not fair to do this to Sarah and not do it to Gavin, too.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06Luckily, I've got some pictures of Gavin as well.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Bit of a poseur, you know?

0:03:09 > 0:03:11That's Gavin, though.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13That's better, isn't it?

0:03:13 > 0:03:16And going to copy Dog's head

0:03:16 > 0:03:19and just pop that nice and snugly...

0:03:19 > 0:03:20There we go.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Look at those guys.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24Yeah! These look pretty awesome.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29- TELEVISION:- 'Hey, you there.'

0:03:29 > 0:03:32'Birds fly in the sky...

0:03:32 > 0:03:34'but why?

0:03:34 > 0:03:37'Because they eat worms from the earth.'

0:03:37 > 0:03:38Look at this guy.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40Check out how orange his face is.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42'But you can't eat worms...

0:03:43 > 0:03:44'..can you?'

0:03:44 > 0:03:45RICKY: Nope.

0:03:45 > 0:03:49'Well now you can, with new jelly worms.

0:03:49 > 0:03:50DING!

0:03:50 > 0:03:52'Here's how you make them.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55'You need a jug...

0:03:55 > 0:03:56'some red jelly...

0:03:58 > 0:04:00'..some orange jelly...

0:04:02 > 0:04:04'..and some gelatine.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09'Then add hot water.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11'Be careful, or get an adult to help.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16'Now add cold water.

0:04:16 > 0:04:17'Don't drink it!

0:04:21 > 0:04:23'You need cream.

0:04:23 > 0:04:24'Smells good!

0:04:24 > 0:04:27'In it goes. Just a bit.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30'Use a spoon to stir your mixture.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34'This should melt the jelly, until it looks like this.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38'Next get some bendy straws.

0:04:38 > 0:04:43'Making sure the bendy end faces downwards, put them in a tall glass.

0:04:45 > 0:04:49'Pour the mixture into the glass, around the straws,

0:04:49 > 0:04:50nearly to the top.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54'Mm.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58'Spread the straws out,

0:04:58 > 0:05:01'then leave them in the fridge for seven hours

0:05:01 > 0:05:03'to allow the mixture to set.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06'Grab a plate,

0:05:06 > 0:05:07'remove a straw...

0:05:09 > 0:05:13'..give it a squeeze like this and hey presto -

0:05:13 > 0:05:14'a jelly worm!

0:05:14 > 0:05:16'Urgh!

0:05:16 > 0:05:19'All you need do now is squeeze it onto a plate

0:05:19 > 0:05:22'and repeat for as many straws as you have filled.

0:05:29 > 0:05:33'Jelly worms - stored in a fridge near you.'

0:05:35 > 0:05:38I'm going to paint a picture in the style made popular by Picasso,

0:05:38 > 0:05:39cubism.

0:05:39 > 0:05:43Using this egg box to give it a 3-D quality,

0:05:43 > 0:05:44I'm just going to wing it.

0:05:47 > 0:05:49So I'm going to start by drawing myself a line

0:05:49 > 0:05:51I can follow to paint.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54It's quite difficult to draw on an egg box,

0:05:54 > 0:05:56so make sure you take your time.

0:05:56 > 0:05:57All right, it's looking pretty good.

0:05:57 > 0:05:59I'm just going to draw the comb now -

0:05:59 > 0:06:01that's the red, wobbly bit.

0:06:02 > 0:06:04There we go.

0:06:04 > 0:06:05Good start.

0:06:05 > 0:06:07Now I'm going to start painting.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09Put a bit of paper down first,

0:06:09 > 0:06:11so that I don't ruin the kitchen top.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13I've got some pre-mixed paint here.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16I'm going to use this to paint the main body of the chicken.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23You'll find that you need to use more paint than normal

0:06:23 > 0:06:24for a picture this size,

0:06:24 > 0:06:26but that's because you're covering a lot more surface area.

0:06:26 > 0:06:30You've got to go in these crevices, on top of these peaks.

0:06:32 > 0:06:34And, to do the feet, I think I need to change brushes.

0:06:35 > 0:06:38'I need a smaller brush to do more detail.'

0:06:38 > 0:06:40Now the next stage is waiting for that to dry,

0:06:40 > 0:06:44but I wait for nothing, cos I'm the Art Ninja.

0:06:44 > 0:06:45There we go, nice and dry.

0:06:45 > 0:06:48Now I'm going to do a nice blue sky behind him,

0:06:48 > 0:06:49then a nice green floor.

0:06:49 > 0:06:52'Adding white to the blue to give me different tones.'

0:06:57 > 0:06:59Right, I think the sky's all done,

0:06:59 > 0:07:02so I'm going to start doing some grass.

0:07:02 > 0:07:03So I can get the green out.

0:07:03 > 0:07:06Going to add a little bit of yellow to brighten it up.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09'And them some white, to get a good shade of green.'

0:07:13 > 0:07:17I'm just going to take the green up to where it meets the blue

0:07:17 > 0:07:20and dab, to try and get the representation of blades of grass.

0:07:23 > 0:07:25Very important bit of the chicken now -

0:07:25 > 0:07:26the comb.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28So I'm going to get out some red.

0:07:28 > 0:07:30Don't need too much of this - just a little bit.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Don't know why it's called a comb,

0:07:32 > 0:07:34she can't comb it.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37Right...

0:07:37 > 0:07:39that's the foundations of all the colours done.

0:07:39 > 0:07:41Now I'm going to start putting in some detail.

0:07:41 > 0:07:43Get some of this brown out,

0:07:43 > 0:07:46to do the back end of the feathers, where it's a bit darker.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50You can go back and use the original colour...

0:07:50 > 0:07:53just to help some of these darker bits blend in.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59Now I'm just dabbing here to get the speckled effect of the feathers.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05And, right now, my chicken can't see.

0:08:05 > 0:08:06So...

0:08:06 > 0:08:08we do an eye.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10A little bit of white

0:08:10 > 0:08:12as a highlight in the eye.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14OK.

0:08:15 > 0:08:18Wow. Look at that!

0:08:18 > 0:08:19I think that's brilliant.

0:08:19 > 0:08:21So from head on,

0:08:21 > 0:08:22just looks like a normal picture...

0:08:22 > 0:08:24and then, when I turn it,

0:08:24 > 0:08:27all the peaks and troughs distort the picture,

0:08:27 > 0:08:29giving it that cubism effect.

0:08:31 > 0:08:35'Now go to the website and get YOUR ninja on!'

0:08:37 > 0:08:39Art Ninja!
