0:00:05 > 0:00:07Time to get my Ninja on.

0:00:07 > 0:00:08And my clothes.

0:00:24 > 0:00:28Here's a quick art tip of how to draw a flock of birds.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30So we're going to start with the big bird at the front.

0:00:32 > 0:00:33Its tail feathers.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Nice big beak.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40And I'm going to do its wing, back, mid-flap.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45And its feet back too.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Next, we are going to draw another bird, top left.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51This one is going to be smaller as it's going to be in the distance

0:00:51 > 0:00:55and I'm going to draw this one's wing, down, at the end of its flap.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Drawing the wings in different places

0:01:02 > 0:01:05gives your flock a greater sense of movement.

0:01:05 > 0:01:06And now finally, I'm going to draw

0:01:06 > 0:01:10one more bird between the two of them, so medium size.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12And this one's wings are going to be at the top of its body.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15You can draw as many birds as you want.

0:01:15 > 0:01:16Another one here.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21And then I'm going to add a couple of action lines

0:01:21 > 0:01:24just to make them look like they are drifting through the sky.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29There we go, a quick art tip.

0:01:40 > 0:01:41Hey, you there!

0:01:42 > 0:01:44Seriously need a wash?

0:01:44 > 0:01:48Well now, you can make bath time party time

0:01:48 > 0:01:51with new bath-time ice cream.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55Here's how you make it.

0:01:55 > 0:01:56You need a bowl

0:01:56 > 0:01:58and a spoon.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Put some baking powder in the bowl.

0:02:01 > 0:02:05Add some citric acid - available from supermarkets or chemists -

0:02:05 > 0:02:07to make it fizz.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Pour in some cornflour

0:02:10 > 0:02:12and add some almond oil.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Mmm, nutty.

0:02:14 > 0:02:15Drip that in.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19Additionally, you will need food colouring.

0:02:19 > 0:02:20I'm using grey

0:02:20 > 0:02:22but you can use any colour you like.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Essential oil is...essential.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27Smells good. Just a splash.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32Now stir it all up until it is all mixed together.

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Like this.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42Using your hands, mould the mixture into a ball shape

0:02:42 > 0:02:46until it looks like an ice cream scoop.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50You can repeat to make different-coloured scoops.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52Look at that!

0:02:52 > 0:02:53Very cool.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57Bath-time ice cream.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59It looks nice enough to eat.

0:02:59 > 0:03:01But don't, all right?

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Who needs fancy-pants kit to animate?

0:03:07 > 0:03:10Not me, I just need ninja fingers.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16To make this nifty flip-book animation, all you are going to need

0:03:16 > 0:03:19is some sticky memo notes,

0:03:19 > 0:03:20a pen

0:03:20 > 0:03:21and your imagination.

0:03:23 > 0:03:27And you can make this animation in just three ninja moves.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Ninja move number one.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31Take the last page of your sticky memo book,

0:03:31 > 0:03:33that's where you're going to draw your first frame.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36Now I'm going to be doing a motorcyclist jumping over

0:03:36 > 0:03:40some of these rad little cars, so let's start drawing my motorcyclist.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43Draw as its first frame, put a little helmet on this person here.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45Safety first.

0:03:45 > 0:03:46Then flick to the next page

0:03:46 > 0:03:49and trace some aspects of your motorcyclist through.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52But what I'm going to do is, I'm going to trace it slightly higher

0:03:52 > 0:03:53so it looks like the engine's running

0:03:53 > 0:03:56and they're bobbing up and down as the engine ticks over.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58Just flick back between them like that.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00And you can see that is starting to animate.

0:04:00 > 0:04:01Ninja move number two.

0:04:01 > 0:04:03You've got to continue to draw all your frames

0:04:03 > 0:04:06through your sticky memo book all the way to the top.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10Now this bit takes quite a bit of time so let's time-lapse.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13In case you wondering, that's my mate, Rich, who helped me film this.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Right, once you've drawn all your frames, all you have to do,

0:04:19 > 0:04:21flip the book from back to front to make the animation work.

0:04:21 > 0:04:23You can see the little motorcyclists riding along.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26I've even done a little bit of fumes coming out the back

0:04:26 > 0:04:29to show the engine's running and a couple of skids.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32Vroom! And something special for the stunt.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34Ninja move number three.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37Create the assault course for your motorcyclist.

0:04:37 > 0:04:41So what I'm going to do is I'm going to have a little ramp over here.

0:04:41 > 0:04:45Let's put some little cars in to jump

0:04:45 > 0:04:49and then I'm going to have a little area for them to land on.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51OK, let's test our bike.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54If we flick the flip book and move it along the table at the same

0:04:54 > 0:04:57time, it creates the illusion that the bike is actually driving along.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03Yeah, it works. Now we are ready for the death-defying stunt.

0:05:03 > 0:05:05Ninja fingers away.

0:05:06 > 0:05:09MOTORBIKE REVS AND SKIDS

0:05:13 > 0:05:16MOTORBIKE REVS AND SKIDS

0:05:18 > 0:05:21Yeah! Whoo!

0:05:21 > 0:05:24Awesome fun animation without any fancy-pants kit.

0:05:24 > 0:05:27Why not see what you can create with some memo notes,

0:05:27 > 0:05:30a pen and your imagination.

0:05:30 > 0:05:31Ricky out.

0:05:34 > 0:05:35Ricky, Ricky, Ricky!

0:05:35 > 0:05:38- So, what is your name then? - I'm Marco and I'm from Glasgow.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41So, Marco, what have you got for me today?

0:05:41 > 0:05:44- What can you make with an eraser? - An eraser?

0:05:44 > 0:05:47Well, normally with an eraser, we rub out pictures

0:05:47 > 0:05:50but I think I can create one, I'll just go and grab my stuff.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Right, so I'm going to be drawing a picture with an eraser.

0:05:55 > 0:05:57So I need something to rub out first, don't I?

0:05:57 > 0:06:01So I'm going to do a wash across my entire page with some charcoal.

0:06:01 > 0:06:03Get the whole thing nice and dark.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11And I think I'm going to do an astronaut picture,

0:06:11 > 0:06:13Cos what's nice and dark?

0:06:13 > 0:06:14Space.

0:06:17 > 0:06:20- So, Marco, do you believe in aliens and things?- Yeah.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23- What do you reckon they would look like?- I think they would be green.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25- They'd be green?- Yes.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28Yeah, it would be rude if they weren't green, wouldn't it, really?

0:06:30 > 0:06:34Right, so, I've managed to make my paper nice and dark.

0:06:34 > 0:06:35My hands are dirty.

0:06:35 > 0:06:39Now I'm going to start drawing my picture by rubbing out the charcoal.

0:06:40 > 0:06:44So we are going to start with the curvature of the Earth.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46The sun just bouncing off it there.

0:06:46 > 0:06:50I think I will leave some areas dark cos that could be like landmass.

0:06:50 > 0:06:52And I'm going to rub out where the ocean should be,

0:06:52 > 0:06:55because then it is like the sun is reflecting off the oceans.

0:06:55 > 0:06:59- So, Marco, do you like space? - I like the planet Mars.

0:06:59 > 0:07:01You like the planet Mars, why is that?

0:07:01 > 0:07:05- Because it starts with my name. - Oh, good choice.

0:07:05 > 0:07:08OK, so that is the earth there. Then we're going to do the moon.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11When you have a go, you can make a picture of whatever you like.

0:07:11 > 0:07:13The sky is the limit.

0:07:13 > 0:07:15The sun bouncing off one side of it.

0:07:16 > 0:07:18Do you know what, space needs the astronaut, doesn't it?

0:07:18 > 0:07:21An astronaut is going to be floating around doing a spacewalk.

0:07:21 > 0:07:23So, I'll start drawing an astronaut in here.

0:07:28 > 0:07:30Just draw one arm. Yeah.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39That's his oxygen pipe there going round. I'll start doing his legs.

0:07:39 > 0:07:43If he's going to spacewalk or moonwalk, we need to have legs.

0:07:49 > 0:07:52It is quite nice drawing in reverse.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55And of course, let's just pop in a couple of stars.

0:07:58 > 0:08:01- More than a couple of stars. - OK, like a million stars.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03Yeah, that'd be better.

0:08:03 > 0:08:07I'm just going to use the charcoal to put a couple of darker areas in.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13Let's put some creases into his space suit. Elbow.

0:08:16 > 0:08:20- OK, Marco, you are ready to see it? - Yes.- Prepare for blast off.

0:08:23 > 0:08:24Whoa!

0:08:24 > 0:08:27- What do you think, do you like it?- Yes, I do.

0:08:27 > 0:08:29So what would you score it out of ten?

0:08:29 > 0:08:32Hopefully, not an astro-NOUGHT.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35Ten out of ten? Oh, yeah, that's an awesome score.

0:08:35 > 0:08:39I think all the picture needs now is a lovely border to finish it off.

0:08:41 > 0:08:44Great suggestion, Marco, thanks very much for your help today.

0:08:44 > 0:08:46- Have a good one, bye-bye.- Bye.

0:08:49 > 0:08:52Why don't you use an eraser to raise your art to another level?

0:08:58 > 0:09:00Now go to the website and get your ninja on.

0:09:04 > 0:09:05Art Ninja!
