0:00:09 > 0:00:11And my clothes!

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Aw... Ooh!

0:00:29 > 0:00:31KNOCK AT DOOR

0:00:31 > 0:00:33- Hi, Dad!- Hi, Ricky!

0:00:33 > 0:00:37- What you doing?- Your mum's entered us in the Family World Cup.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40It's a competition to find the best footballing family in the country.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42It's tomorrow and we're going to win!

0:00:42 > 0:00:46We? Don't you remember? I'm terrible at football!

0:00:48 > 0:00:50# Here we go, here we go, here we go! #

0:00:50 > 0:00:53- CRASH! MAN:- Oi! That's my greenhouse!

0:00:55 > 0:00:59And if we win the family World Cup, we get to party with Jamie Vardy.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02He's the host, and if we do win, we win £1,000!

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Now you're talking! I'll get me boots! On the head, Dad!

0:01:07 > 0:01:09CRASH!

0:01:09 > 0:01:11# Art Ninja. #

0:01:11 > 0:01:14I always knew I'd grow up to be an art ninja.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18The writing was on the wall. Well, on this...

0:01:18 > 0:01:21It's the Art Ninja graffiti pin board!

0:01:21 > 0:01:25I've got a couple of large pieces of card, both the same size.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28I'm going to stick them together with a bit of PVA glue.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32Doesn't need to be neat here, just needs to be sticky.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35Now, if you're doing this at home, you need to put newspaper down

0:01:35 > 0:01:37to protect your table.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40But my art table is MADE for this kind of action.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43And the reason I'm doubling up the card is so it's thick enough

0:01:43 > 0:01:45to stick pins to.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Now, as I'm going to hang this up, I need to make some holes

0:01:47 > 0:01:50so I can put some string through it. Get a pencil to poke the hole

0:01:50 > 0:01:52and a bit of modelling clay to protect the table.

0:01:52 > 0:01:55I'm punching four holes, two on each side.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57One there and one there.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02One there and one there.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Just going to cut a length of string.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Snip that off, thread that through.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11And then tie it to itself.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14And I'm going to do the same on the other side.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21Now, that bit's done, I've got myself a big dish here.

0:02:22 > 0:02:23Some white paint.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Using a sponge, I'm just going to dab on the paint.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31And this white is going to be the mortar that you'll be able

0:02:31 > 0:02:33to see through between the bricks.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35I'm just dabbing it on to get a nice texture.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37I want it to look kind of rough.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41While that's drying, I'm going to make my bricks.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44So, I've got a couple of pieces of pre-cut card.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47I'm going to squeeze out a little bit of brown paint,

0:02:47 > 0:02:48get my sponge.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52I'm going to use the same technique with these bits of cardboard.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Just dabbing it on like this.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58Do the same to the other one.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Now, as bricks come in lots of different colours and tones,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03I'm going to make this one slightly darker

0:03:03 > 0:03:05and add a little bit of black.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09Now, we're going to add a couple of accents,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11some slightly darker areas on it.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15You can get some really nice effects layering up different colours.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17But if I'm going to make a wall I'm going to need a ton of these,

0:03:17 > 0:03:19so I'll ninja some more...

0:03:20 > 0:03:24Sweet! That's a good amount of bricks.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Now, with the PVA glue, I'm going to start sticking them on.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32I'm putting this one down here with a little bit of a gap in between

0:03:32 > 0:03:34cos that's of course the mortar showing through.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37Don't worry if you get a bit of PVA glue on the front of the bricks

0:03:37 > 0:03:40cos of course it dries clear.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42I'm sticking these down in a brickwork pattern.

0:03:42 > 0:03:44The bricks are offset.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46I'm also mixing up different colours

0:03:46 > 0:03:47to make it look like an authentic wall.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50I'm just letting them overhang the edges and when it's finished,

0:03:50 > 0:03:53it will look like a piece of wall has been removed.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00Right, I think that's looking really good!

0:04:00 > 0:04:02It's time for me to give it my own personal tag.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04We've got some nice coloured paints here.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06Here's some shapes that I cut out from sponge

0:04:06 > 0:04:09and I'm going to paint my name, but on your wall,

0:04:09 > 0:04:10you can do whatever you like.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13I'm going to start with a purple.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16These tapered ends of the sponges kind of make it look like

0:04:16 > 0:04:18you lift away the spray can at the end.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24And when I change letters, I'm going to change colours.

0:04:24 > 0:04:27I'm using a different colour for each letter

0:04:27 > 0:04:29but you can use any colours you like.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31Getting creative with my colours.

0:04:32 > 0:04:33Yeah, looking good!

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Now, I want something with a similar theme to hold my pens,

0:04:39 > 0:04:41so I'm going to make a spray can.

0:04:41 > 0:04:45So, for that, I've got an old gravy pot and I've cut the top off

0:04:45 > 0:04:47an old drinks top here.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51I'm just going to stuff it with a bit of newspaper.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54This is going to help it stick and not slide around

0:04:54 > 0:04:56as I glue it to the lid of my gravy pot.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59I'm going to stick it on and I'm using strong glue.

0:05:01 > 0:05:05And now, for some finishing touches, I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:05:08 > 0:05:12So, I've wrapped the gravy tube in orange, the top's painted silver,

0:05:12 > 0:05:15like a real spray can, and I've added an Art Ninja sticker.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17On the back I've put a little bit of hook and loop tape,

0:05:17 > 0:05:20sticky side out here, so I can stick it to my wall.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22That means I can pop it off...

0:05:22 > 0:05:24but it's got a place it'll always stick back on.

0:05:24 > 0:05:27And now I can stick in my pens and my pencils.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34There we go. I've always said I've had good board skills

0:05:34 > 0:05:37but now I've swapped the skateboard for a pin board!

0:05:37 > 0:05:38Now to add some pictures.

0:05:38 > 0:05:40Ah, there's one of Gavin

0:05:40 > 0:05:43when he got set on fire by our animation dragon.

0:05:43 > 0:05:44Michelle on her deckchair.

0:05:44 > 0:05:48And our clown juice art. I think that looks awesome.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50Now all I need to do is hang it up.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04There are all kinds of ways to personalise your pin board.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06How about this wrecking ball wall?

0:06:11 > 0:06:15The signs had always been there that I'd have ninja skills.

0:06:15 > 0:06:16And here's some more signs.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Guys, isn't it nice to have a little walk around Bristol at night-time?

0:06:23 > 0:06:26- See all those landmarks lit up beautifully?- Yeah!- Yeah!

0:06:26 > 0:06:28Yeah, the...pffft... the path in the sky?

0:06:28 > 0:06:31The...you know, the...erm...

0:06:31 > 0:06:32The thingy thing?

0:06:32 > 0:06:34Guys, guys, don't worry, I've got your back.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38Get a load of my light painting sign animation.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42Now, you won't be lost in the dark with this animation

0:06:42 > 0:06:45and to make it, you'll need a camera that shoots long exposures,

0:06:45 > 0:06:49a tablet or smartphone, a posse of friends...

0:06:53 > 0:06:55..and a lovely lit-up building at night.

0:06:55 > 0:06:58And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00Ninja move number one...

0:07:00 > 0:07:03You need to decide what building you're going to make a sign for

0:07:03 > 0:07:05and you need to make your sign. So, I'm doing

0:07:05 > 0:07:08the Clifton Suspension Bridge, cos it is a Bristol icon

0:07:08 > 0:07:10and it is well dench. And just to make sure I spell it all right,

0:07:10 > 0:07:13I've got it written down on a little bit of paper here

0:07:13 > 0:07:14cos spelling is not my strong suit.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20Now you need to colour it in.

0:07:20 > 0:07:23Doesn't need to be coloured in super perfect

0:07:23 > 0:07:26cos it's going to be quite blurry when you light paint with it later.

0:07:27 > 0:07:31Now I need to colour around all the letters carefully with a dark pen.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Now, the reason I'm colouring around all the letters in a black pen

0:07:35 > 0:07:37is cos black doesn't show up when you light paint.

0:07:37 > 0:07:39Ninja move number two...

0:07:39 > 0:07:41So, now I need to film it on my smartphone

0:07:41 > 0:07:44and move along with this black bit of card

0:07:44 > 0:07:45with a little slit cut in it.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48And the black won't show up in the light paint later.

0:07:48 > 0:07:49Mind your fingers.

0:07:52 > 0:07:54Ninja move number three...

0:07:54 > 0:07:57Now it's time to start shooting, so one person needs to be ready to hold

0:07:57 > 0:08:00the shutter open and somebody else needs to carefully play back

0:08:00 > 0:08:02the video on the smartphone and move it round perfectly,

0:08:02 > 0:08:04printing the sign in the air.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09Once you've done that, you need to reposition the camera around

0:08:09 > 0:08:12a little bit of an angle, so it feels like you're moving round

0:08:12 > 0:08:14your landmark. It just gives it a more dynamic look

0:08:14 > 0:08:17and if you take about 12 frames, you can bounce backwards and forwards

0:08:17 > 0:08:21to make a cool animation. OK, we've shot all of our frames

0:08:21 > 0:08:23and we've consolidated them into an animation.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35You don't have to do landmarks, you can do your friend's name

0:08:35 > 0:08:37and just make animations of each other.

0:08:45 > 0:08:48Now go to the website and get YOUR ninja on.

0:08:51 > 0:08:53Art Ninja!
