0:00:06 > 0:00:08It's a new day. I better get my ninja on.

0:00:09 > 0:00:11And my clothes!

0:00:27 > 0:00:31As an art ninja, I'm always being asked to make something snappy.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33So, I made this.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35The Art Ninja Piranha Bag!

0:00:36 > 0:00:39I need to start by turning this inside out.

0:00:41 > 0:00:42Ninja skills!

0:00:43 > 0:00:46Now, I'm going to pin a shape into it

0:00:46 > 0:00:48that's going to make the fish's body.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50All the way along up here.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52Have a little flat top.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56Then we have the same angle going back down the other side.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58Now I'm going to cut off the top part of the T-shirt,

0:00:58 > 0:01:022cm above my line of pins. There we go.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06Right, now I need to cut out some fins,

0:01:06 > 0:01:08and, for that, I'm using a dishcloth.

0:01:13 > 0:01:14First, two side fins.

0:01:16 > 0:01:17Then a tail fin.

0:01:19 > 0:01:20And, finally, a back fin.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24And my T-shirt's inside out, so I'm going to pin these fins on the

0:01:24 > 0:01:29inside, so when I turn it round the right way, they're on the outside.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32Just start by unpinning here and then sneaking this one inside.

0:01:35 > 0:01:37Pop that one in like that.

0:01:38 > 0:01:39There we are.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44Once it's nice and flat, I'm just going to pin it back into place.

0:01:44 > 0:01:45There we go.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Now I need to do the same thing with these side fins.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Pin it back in place.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55And on the other side.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00Great. Now I can start sewing it.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02So, I've got myself a little bit of thread and a needle here, and I've

0:02:02 > 0:02:06tied a knot in the end so that when I pull it through it holds in place.

0:02:06 > 0:02:09VOICEOVER: I'm going to sew all the way along my line of pins using

0:02:09 > 0:02:10a running stitch.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14So, I need to be careful, cos I'm using a needle.

0:02:14 > 0:02:15Right.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Now I can turn it round the right way.

0:02:20 > 0:02:21There we are.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25And, as you can see, our stitching is all hidden and really tidy.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27Now I'm going to stick on the back fin with

0:02:27 > 0:02:29a little bit of fabric glue.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34VOICEOVER: This is also called a dorsal fin - true fact.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37And I've layered up some different coloured pieces of felt

0:02:37 > 0:02:38to make some eyes.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42And I'm going to glue them on with fabric glue.

0:02:46 > 0:02:47There we are.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50I've also cut out some triangles and I'm going to put them

0:02:50 > 0:02:53on the inside of the T-shirt to become the piranha's teeth.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57Five at the top and four at the bottom.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00Now, it is a bag, means it needs straps.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02So, I need to cut a couple of holes for them.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04I'm just going to pinch the two layers of T-shirt together

0:03:04 > 0:03:06and just cut through them both.

0:03:07 > 0:03:11There we go. And the same on this side, too.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15There we are. Now, also, this bag's going to have a drawstring.

0:03:15 > 0:03:16So, I'm going

0:03:16 > 0:03:18to make that by using the hem at the bottom of the T-shirt.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20I'm going to cut a hole into the side of the hem here,

0:03:20 > 0:03:22just so we can get the drawstring in.

0:03:23 > 0:03:24Do the other side.

0:03:27 > 0:03:28There we go.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32Now I've got some ribbon to become the straps.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34I need to thread this through the hem of the T-shirt to make

0:03:34 > 0:03:36the drawstring.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37Now, that's quite tricky,

0:03:37 > 0:03:41so I'm going to tape it to a pencil to make it a little bit easier.

0:03:44 > 0:03:45There we go.

0:03:53 > 0:03:54There we are.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58One side done. Now I need to do the other side.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02A tip here to make this easier is to hold on to the back of

0:04:02 > 0:04:05the pencil and gather the material over the end with the point.

0:04:07 > 0:04:11There you go, two drawstrings. Now I need to tie them to make the straps.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14So, I'm going to tape one end again to the pencil and poke it through.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Pull it off.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23And then I'm just going to tie that to the other end.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26Just do the same on the other side.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31And tie that last one together. There we go.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35I'm going to try it on.

0:04:35 > 0:04:37Check it out.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44You don't have to make your bag in the shape of a fish.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46There's plenty of other catchy designs. Like this!

0:04:48 > 0:04:51Bat pack.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Or how about this turtle-y awesome...

0:04:54 > 0:04:56turtle bag!

0:04:56 > 0:04:57# Art Ninja. #

0:04:59 > 0:05:00That was colourful.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03A bit like this art I did with the ninja apprentices.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07Hey, Ricky, you little art ninja man, you old cocker.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10Hey, Hacker, you little Border Terrier dog, you.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13I wondered if you could make anything out of this old bone.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17Eww. That idea's a bit dead.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20It's "humerus" though, don't you think?

0:05:20 > 0:05:22I better be off.

0:05:22 > 0:05:23Hey, what's she got?

0:05:23 > 0:05:26Ricky, can you make art with flour?

0:05:26 > 0:05:28That's a great ingredient for art.

0:05:28 > 0:05:29I choose you.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Yay!

0:05:31 > 0:05:35- So, what's your name?- Eliha. - And where are you from?- Birmingham.

0:05:35 > 0:05:36Oh, lovely.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38Well, I'll just go and grab some bits, and I'll get on with the art.

0:05:38 > 0:05:43I've got a bowl, spoon, the flour, and a sandwich bag.

0:05:43 > 0:05:47I've also got some watercolour paints and some watercolour paper.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52So, what I'm doing here is I'm just drawing a nice big pencil line

0:05:52 > 0:05:54of a chameleon holding on to a stick.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56So, do you like to do art?

0:05:56 > 0:06:02- Yes.- What kind of thing do you like to do?- Portraits.- Portraits? Of who?

0:06:02 > 0:06:03- My mum.- OK.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08- So, do you want to see my picture of the chameleon so far?- Yes.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10So far, it's looking like this.

0:06:10 > 0:06:11That's amazing.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14So, now, I am going to get the flour,

0:06:14 > 0:06:16and I'm going to mix it with some PVA glue.

0:06:16 > 0:06:17Squeeze it in.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Now we're going to add in the flour. Just a little bit at a time.

0:06:23 > 0:06:24I'm going to stir it in.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27And I want it to be not too thick but not too thin.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31So, we need it to be running just off the spoon, like slightly runny.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Now, this is where it gets quite messy.

0:06:33 > 0:06:36I need to put the flour mix into a sandwich bag.

0:06:36 > 0:06:37Woo!

0:06:37 > 0:06:39Now I'm going to seal the bag.

0:06:42 > 0:06:46Taking a snip off the end, the tiniest little bit of the end.

0:06:46 > 0:06:49Like that. And then I'm going to pipe it onto my line drawing.

0:06:49 > 0:06:51I'm taking my time now. Cos I don't want to push too hard,

0:06:51 > 0:06:53cos the bag might split.

0:06:58 > 0:07:01Right, nearly at the end of this now.

0:07:01 > 0:07:02Just piping the last line along.

0:07:02 > 0:07:05Right, now I'm going to dry my chameleon, ninja style.

0:07:05 > 0:07:07HE BLOWS

0:07:07 > 0:07:10Check it out. Get this lovely raised line.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12I'm going to add a rainbow of colours,

0:07:12 > 0:07:14because chameleons can change colour.

0:07:14 > 0:07:18So, I'm going to start by wetting the paper just inside my chameleon.

0:07:19 > 0:07:22And these lovely raised lines hold all the water in,

0:07:22 > 0:07:23ready for the paint.

0:07:24 > 0:07:25OK.

0:07:25 > 0:07:28I'm going to use watercolour paints, starting with this lime green.

0:07:28 > 0:07:29Lovely.

0:07:29 > 0:07:32And I'm going to start on the curly-wurly tail.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34Have you ever used watercolours before?

0:07:34 > 0:07:37I use them for art in school.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40Cool! All right, now I'm going to move on to a darker green.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44So, what colour should I do next?

0:07:44 > 0:07:46- Blue. - Yeah, I'm moving on to some blue.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50And I'm painting within the lines, but not over the raised lines.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52Just keeping them nice and clean.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55So, I'm adding a little bit of pink now, after the purple.

0:07:55 > 0:07:58And I'm keeping my big brush ready to add extra water

0:07:58 > 0:08:00so the paper doesn't dry out.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05A little tip here is, when you switch to lighter colours,

0:08:05 > 0:08:07change to using some clean water.

0:08:07 > 0:08:11What would you do if you could change colour like a chameleon?

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I would win hide-and-seek.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15Ah, you totally would win hide-and-seek!

0:08:15 > 0:08:19Right, I'm just going to finish off, just by painting the eye.

0:08:19 > 0:08:22And that is just a dark black.

0:08:22 > 0:08:26- Are you ready to see it? - Yes.- Check it out.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29Nature's most surprising animal.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31It looks like an actual chameleon.

0:08:31 > 0:08:34I'm so happy with it, I think it deserves a frame.

0:08:34 > 0:08:38- What mark would you give it? - A ten.- Wow, look at that ten!

0:08:38 > 0:08:41- Thank you for your suggestion. Bye-bye!- Bye.

0:08:48 > 0:08:52Now go to the website, and get your ninja on.

0:08:54 > 0:08:56Art ninja!
