0:00:02 > 0:00:04This is the world of records.
0:00:04 > 0:00:07# Officially...biggest, weirdest
0:00:07 > 0:00:08# Fastest, tightest
0:00:08 > 0:00:10# Longest, smallest
0:00:10 > 0:00:12# Heaviest, tallest
0:00:12 > 0:00:14# Longest ears on a dog
0:00:14 > 0:00:16- # Most poisonous frog! # - Oh!
0:00:16 > 0:00:18# And a woman with a beard. #
0:00:18 > 0:00:19What?
0:00:19 > 0:00:22# Officially, officially, officially
0:00:22 > 0:00:24# Amazing! #
0:00:27 > 0:00:30Hello and welcome to another mind-boggling episode
0:00:30 > 0:00:32of Officially Amazing,
0:00:32 > 0:00:34the show that scours the globe
0:00:34 > 0:00:36to bring you the biggest, quickest
0:00:36 > 0:00:38and sometimes strangest records
0:00:38 > 0:00:41and record-breakers in existence.
0:00:41 > 0:00:44'Today's incredible Guinness World Record attempts
0:00:44 > 0:00:45'include...'
0:00:46 > 0:00:50One man attempts to get his 150th world record...
0:00:50 > 0:00:52on a space hopper.
0:00:54 > 0:00:55Haruka comes face-to-face
0:00:55 > 0:00:59with the most lethal fish supper on the planet.
0:00:59 > 0:01:02The Space Cowboy gets stuck in and I get stuck up.
0:01:02 > 0:01:04The things I do for you.
0:01:06 > 0:01:08And Manjit the man mountain mystifies me
0:01:08 > 0:01:11with his magnificent...ears.
0:01:11 > 0:01:15'But first, a record attempt that is certainly no pushover.'
0:01:25 > 0:01:27This is a domino.
0:01:27 > 0:01:30You can do several different things with them.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32You can play games with them,
0:01:32 > 0:01:35you can build your own miniature Stonehenge with them...
0:01:37 > 0:01:41..or you can do this.
0:01:44 > 0:01:47'And today in gorgeous Baden-Wurttemberg, in Germany,
0:01:47 > 0:01:49'I'm meeting two guys who love doing just that.'
0:01:49 > 0:01:53But instead of using a box of 28 dominoes,
0:01:53 > 0:01:56they have much bigger ideas.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58Big plus enormous
0:01:58 > 0:02:02times massive to the power of ridiculous, because today,
0:02:02 > 0:02:05they're going to try to break the Guinness World Record
0:02:05 > 0:02:07for most dominoes toppled in a spiral.
0:02:07 > 0:02:11They're aiming to topple 50,500 of them!
0:02:11 > 0:02:14And by "spiral," we mean exactly that.
0:02:14 > 0:02:17The domino run starts from the outside and goes round and round
0:02:17 > 0:02:20till it finishes in the centre.
0:02:20 > 0:02:23So who are these domino legends?
0:02:23 > 0:02:25Meet Toby Demuth
0:02:25 > 0:02:26and Tim Weissker.
0:02:26 > 0:02:30Two students and two of the leading tip-top topplers in the world.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33Just check out this footage from Toby's archive.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35'There's no trickery in domino toppling,
0:02:35 > 0:02:36'just meticulous planning
0:02:36 > 0:02:40'and then pure physics in action.'
0:02:40 > 0:02:43This crate holds 1,500 dominoes.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46'And they'll be needing 36 crates-full
0:02:46 > 0:02:48'to try and smash the current record
0:02:48 > 0:02:51'of 33,533 dominoes
0:02:51 > 0:02:53'by using 50,500 of them.'
0:02:55 > 0:02:58A record this big needs space and lots of it,
0:02:58 > 0:03:00which is why we're here at a leisure centre
0:03:00 > 0:03:02or "Sporthalle."
0:03:02 > 0:03:03Let's get cracking!
0:03:06 > 0:03:10'They're about to start their 30-hour marathon
0:03:10 > 0:03:11'to set them all up.
0:03:11 > 0:03:13'All of this just to knock them down again.
0:03:13 > 0:03:16'This is the big moment - the first of tens of thousands
0:03:16 > 0:03:19'of dominoes. Here goes...'
0:03:19 > 0:03:20Ah.
0:03:20 > 0:03:22'Yeah. Great start, Toby(!)'
0:03:22 > 0:03:25There's no time limit to set them up
0:03:25 > 0:03:28but Tim and Toby reckon they'll need three days to build
0:03:28 > 0:03:31a record-breaking domino spiral. Once finished,
0:03:31 > 0:03:34the spiral will be about six metres in diameter.
0:03:34 > 0:03:37That's nearly as big as the clock face on Big Ben.
0:03:37 > 0:03:40Oh, I've hit the big time!
0:03:40 > 0:03:42Each domino must be carefully positioned
0:03:42 > 0:03:44so it knocks the next one down.
0:03:44 > 0:03:46'It's a very precise business.'
0:03:46 > 0:03:49At this stage now, let's say that all these dominoes
0:03:49 > 0:03:50toppled now.
0:03:50 > 0:03:54- OK.- Would you still be able to rebuild it
0:03:54 > 0:03:57- and get the record?- I'm not sure.
0:03:57 > 0:04:02Wow. It's serious stuff - we have to hope there's not too many mishaps.
0:04:02 > 0:04:05'But don't worry. Toby hasn't just been spending
0:04:05 > 0:04:07'EVERY waking hour standing thousands of dominoes
0:04:07 > 0:04:09'very close together in a sports hall.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11'Oh, no - he's taken a break...
0:04:11 > 0:04:14'to stand thousands of dominoes very close together in his bedroom
0:04:14 > 0:04:16'to make something amazing just for us.'
0:04:16 > 0:04:18It really IS officially amazing
0:04:18 > 0:04:20in every single sense.
0:04:20 > 0:04:23I'll just do a couple of finger warm-up techniques.
0:04:23 > 0:04:27- I think I'm just about there.- Yeah.
0:04:27 > 0:04:30Three, two, one...
0:04:37 > 0:04:39Yes! That was amazing!
0:04:39 > 0:04:41That was so good!
0:04:41 > 0:04:44'If you think THAT was impressive,
0:04:44 > 0:04:45'just you wait!'
0:04:45 > 0:04:47The main event is still to come.
0:04:47 > 0:04:50The guys are now about 19,000 dominoes in.
0:04:50 > 0:04:53So there's still a lot of work to do.
0:04:53 > 0:04:55And the risk gets higher and higher,
0:04:55 > 0:04:58cos if they accidentally set the topple off BEFORE it's ready,
0:04:58 > 0:05:01then it could wreck everything, and I can tell you now
0:05:01 > 0:05:03something is about to go wrong.
0:05:03 > 0:05:06I was really close to crying, to be honest!
0:05:06 > 0:05:08- SLOWED DOWN:- Oh!
0:05:08 > 0:05:10We'll come back to the boys later,
0:05:10 > 0:05:14but in the meantime, here's Al in New York.
0:05:26 > 0:05:27Welcome to New York City,
0:05:27 > 0:05:30one of the most famous places in the world.
0:05:30 > 0:05:33Home to such things as the Statue of Liberty,
0:05:33 > 0:05:34the Empire State Building
0:05:34 > 0:05:36and those bright-yellow taxis.
0:05:36 > 0:05:39'It's also home to one of the greatest record breakers
0:05:39 > 0:05:40'to have ever lived.'
0:05:40 > 0:05:42This is Ashrita Furman.
0:05:42 > 0:05:45He's been setting records all over the world for 33 years.
0:05:45 > 0:05:50He currently holds 149 Guinness World Records.
0:05:50 > 0:05:53'Today he's going for another one...'
0:06:00 > 0:06:03Can Ashrita break that today?
0:06:03 > 0:06:06The record must be attempted on a level surface.
0:06:06 > 0:06:08If Ashrita falls off the hopper,
0:06:08 > 0:06:10he must get back on at the exact same sport he fell.
0:06:10 > 0:06:14Rest breaks are allowed but he cannot leave the track.
0:06:14 > 0:06:16I'm not a record-breaking legend like Ashrita,
0:06:16 > 0:06:19but I'll keep up with him for as long as possible.
0:06:19 > 0:06:22Nice tracksuit, Al. You know what they say.
0:06:22 > 0:06:24All the gear and no idea.
0:06:24 > 0:06:26Quiet, Ben, I'm trying to focus.
0:06:26 > 0:06:27On my marks,
0:06:27 > 0:06:29get set...
0:06:29 > 0:06:31go!
0:06:32 > 0:06:33And we're off.
0:06:33 > 0:06:366½ kilometres is going to be easy.
0:06:38 > 0:06:42Actually, this is a lot harder than it looks.
0:06:45 > 0:06:48I didn't even manage 600 metres,
0:06:48 > 0:06:50let alone 6½ kilometres.
0:06:50 > 0:06:53'But Ashrita powers off and looks confident.'
0:06:53 > 0:06:55That's it for me.
0:06:55 > 0:06:57He's doing good but he's got a long way to go.
0:06:57 > 0:07:01'Each lap of this track is 400-metres long.'
0:07:01 > 0:07:03He needs 16 laps to equal the record.
0:07:03 > 0:07:06He's only a quarter of the way
0:07:06 > 0:07:07and he's struggling.
0:07:07 > 0:07:10He's stopped to take a breath.
0:07:10 > 0:07:12Remember, that is allowed.
0:07:12 > 0:07:15If you've ever been on a space hopper in the garden,
0:07:15 > 0:07:18you'll know how tiring it can be.
0:07:18 > 0:07:20OK, he's off again.
0:07:20 > 0:07:24Ashrita is now approaching his eighth lap. He has a long way to go,
0:07:24 > 0:07:26but don't expect him to stop yet.
0:07:26 > 0:07:28As he's proved time and again,
0:07:28 > 0:07:31this is a man who just doesn't give up.
0:07:31 > 0:07:33His other records include
0:07:33 > 0:07:36the most skips on spring-loaded stilts,
0:07:36 > 0:07:38the heaviest shoes ever walked in
0:07:38 > 0:07:43and hula-hooping the world's largest, er...hula hoop.
0:07:44 > 0:07:47Official adjudicator Phil's keeping a close eye
0:07:47 > 0:07:49on Ashrita's progress.
0:07:49 > 0:07:51'He's now just one lap away
0:07:51 > 0:07:53'from breaking another world record.'
0:07:53 > 0:07:56Come on, Ashrita, let's go! Push it! Dig deep!
0:07:56 > 0:07:58'Wow! Ashrita's so lucky
0:07:58 > 0:08:00'to have me on hand to motivate him(!)'
0:08:00 > 0:08:03That's right. Keep going, yeah!
0:08:03 > 0:08:04Keep going!
0:08:06 > 0:08:07'Only five metres to go.
0:08:09 > 0:08:11'He's done it!
0:08:11 > 0:08:14'That's his 150th world record!'
0:08:14 > 0:08:16You're officially amazing. You broke the record!
0:08:16 > 0:08:19THROUGH LOUD-HAILER: That's one small bounce for man...
0:08:19 > 0:08:20BEEP
0:08:20 > 0:08:25..one giant bounce for record-breaking.
0:08:25 > 0:08:29'Ashrita, you've done it! You can stop now!
0:08:29 > 0:08:31'Hello?! He's still going!
0:08:31 > 0:08:33'He doesn't just want to break the record,
0:08:33 > 0:08:35'he wants to smash it.'
0:08:42 > 0:08:43- All right.- All right!
0:08:43 > 0:08:48Ashrita makes it to five miles. That's over eight kilometres.
0:08:48 > 0:08:50- Congratulations. - Very nice! Thank you.
0:08:50 > 0:08:52- You're very welcome. - This is awesome, man.
0:08:52 > 0:08:55'Proving yet again that Ashrita Furman
0:08:55 > 0:08:58'is officially amazing.'
0:08:58 > 0:09:02Now back to the UK for another multi-world record holder.
0:09:11 > 0:09:13On his birth certificate his name is Shane,
0:09:13 > 0:09:17but we know this record-breaking maverick by another name.
0:09:18 > 0:09:20He holds 18 world records.
0:09:20 > 0:09:22That's quite a lot.
0:09:22 > 0:09:24Mostly for incredibly dangerous stuff.
0:09:24 > 0:09:25Don't hurt yourself.
0:09:25 > 0:09:28On Officially Amazing, he balanced a lawnmower...
0:09:28 > 0:09:29On his chin.
0:09:29 > 0:09:32He even juggled a chainsaw...
0:09:32 > 0:09:33Mind your fingers.
0:09:33 > 0:09:35..and whipped roses from my mouth.
0:09:35 > 0:09:37Watch the face.
0:09:37 > 0:09:39He juggled with three apples.
0:09:39 > 0:09:40Good for your teeth.
0:09:40 > 0:09:43He kicked a hat onto his head on a unicycle...
0:09:43 > 0:09:44That's really high.
0:09:44 > 0:09:48'For today's attempt, the Space Cowboy will do something
0:09:48 > 0:09:50'really sticky.'
0:09:50 > 0:09:54There, you see, there you are. OK, so what's all this about then?
0:09:54 > 0:09:57Well, I just want to make sure you're comfortable.
0:09:57 > 0:09:58These will go under your arm.
0:09:59 > 0:10:03I like dressing fancy but this is just weird. What's going on?
0:10:03 > 0:10:05We'll try a new world record
0:10:05 > 0:10:08for the fastest time to duct-tape someone to a wall.
0:10:08 > 0:10:11Hang on, I'm a someone and that's a wall.
0:10:11 > 0:10:13Exactly. You might want to stand up there and let's do this thing.
0:10:13 > 0:10:16'To set a new record,
0:10:16 > 0:10:18'the Space Cowboy must tape a person weighing at least
0:10:18 > 0:10:20'50 kilograms - that's me,
0:10:20 > 0:10:24'to the wall in less than 39 seconds.
0:10:24 > 0:10:26'Then he'll move the stool away
0:10:26 > 0:10:28'and I have to stay stuck to the wall for one minute.
0:10:28 > 0:10:30'Do NOT try this at home.'
0:10:30 > 0:10:33OK. Apparently, we're ready to go.
0:10:33 > 0:10:36- Craig, official adjudicator, are you ready?- Ready.
0:10:36 > 0:10:38- Space Cowboy, are you happy? - I'm ready.
0:10:38 > 0:10:40OK, then. Well, on my count,
0:10:40 > 0:10:43three, two, one, stick!
0:10:46 > 0:10:50'So, to get the record, the Space Cowboy must tape me to the wall
0:10:50 > 0:10:52'in under 39 seconds.
0:10:52 > 0:10:55'Then he'll move the stool away and I have to stay stuck to the wall
0:10:55 > 0:10:57'for one minute.
0:10:57 > 0:10:59'They could have found a nicer wall to stick me to!
0:10:59 > 0:11:02'OK, Space Cowboy will now remove the stool
0:11:02 > 0:11:04'and I will remain stuck.'
0:11:04 > 0:11:06Ah!
0:11:06 > 0:11:07'Or not.
0:11:07 > 0:11:10'He's allowed a second attempt.
0:11:10 > 0:11:12'Here's a clue, Spacey. Use more tape.
0:11:12 > 0:11:15'This challenge is about speed, physics and stickiness.
0:11:15 > 0:11:18'The current record is 39 seconds.
0:11:18 > 0:11:20'Once he removes the stool,
0:11:20 > 0:11:22'I must remain up there for a further minute.
0:11:22 > 0:11:25'I look like one of those mummies from a scary movie.
0:11:27 > 0:11:29'Now I'm taped to the wall,
0:11:29 > 0:11:31'can I hang around for a minute?'
0:11:33 > 0:11:35Ben, you've got to stay there for a minute
0:11:35 > 0:11:37if we want to get this world record.
0:11:37 > 0:11:39So hold your breath, don't move.
0:11:39 > 0:11:41I have time to hang around, so let's do this.
0:11:41 > 0:11:45'A minute?! Hmm, let's fast-forward a bit.'
0:11:45 > 0:11:47Three, two, one, stop.
0:11:47 > 0:11:49Have we got a record?
0:11:49 > 0:11:53'I say "we"- I've done all the hard work!
0:11:53 > 0:11:55'I've stayed stuck for a minute, but did Space Cowboy
0:11:55 > 0:11:58'stick me up here quick enough?'
0:11:59 > 0:12:01You've to beat 39 seconds.
0:12:03 > 0:12:06You did...
0:12:06 > 0:12:08one minute, 41,
0:12:08 > 0:12:09so I'm afraid...
0:12:09 > 0:12:11Oh, well, good try.
0:12:11 > 0:12:14But I've had a good time. Looking at me, I kind of think
0:12:14 > 0:12:17it might not be officially amazing
0:12:17 > 0:12:20but I think really you have to say it is amazing.
0:12:22 > 0:12:23I'm sure they'll be back.
0:12:26 > 0:12:29'So, sadly, the Space Cowboy was way too slow
0:12:29 > 0:12:34'but that's not something you could say about THESE record holders.'
0:12:34 > 0:12:39# They're really, really, really, really, really, really, really fast
0:12:39 > 0:12:40- # Are they slow?- No!
0:12:40 > 0:12:43# They're really, really, really, really fast!
0:12:43 > 0:12:46# Samantha and Melissa ran a race in record time
0:12:46 > 0:12:50# But just to make things fun they dressed as a horse from a pantomime
0:12:50 > 0:12:54# They broke a new world record in that 100-metre race
0:12:54 > 0:12:57# The took just 18.13 seconds
0:12:57 > 0:12:59# The rest couldn't stand that pace
0:12:59 > 0:13:02# Tillman was a speedy pooch but he also kept it cool
0:13:02 > 0:13:04# He had no time for running around
0:13:04 > 0:13:06# He wasn't anybody's fool
0:13:06 > 0:13:08# He was a dog riding on a skateboard
0:13:08 > 0:13:10# And he didn't lose control
0:13:10 > 0:13:12# He's a record-breaking mutt on wheels
0:13:12 > 0:13:14# Cos that's how he likes to roll
0:13:14 > 0:13:18# They're really, really, really, really, really, really, really fast
0:13:18 > 0:13:20- # Are they slow?- No!
0:13:20 > 0:13:22# They're really, really, really, really fast
0:13:22 > 0:13:24# Rob Williams, he loves sandwiches
0:13:24 > 0:13:26# He prepares them nice and neat
0:13:26 > 0:13:28# He's the fastest person in the world
0:13:28 > 0:13:30# At making them using his feet
0:13:30 > 0:13:32# So if he ever offers you a snack
0:13:32 > 0:13:34# And it's the nicest you've ever seen
0:13:34 > 0:13:36# Remember that he made it with his toes
0:13:36 > 0:13:38# You don't know where they've been!
0:13:38 > 0:13:42# Bold Sunita went to space where no-one can hear you scream
0:13:42 > 0:13:45# She wanted to run a marathon
0:13:45 > 0:13:47# And live out a crazy dream
0:13:47 > 0:13:48# She tied herself to a treadmill
0:13:48 > 0:13:50# As the galaxies flew past
0:13:50 > 0:13:52# She's a record-breaking space runner
0:13:52 > 0:13:55# She's really, really, really, really fast
0:13:55 > 0:13:59# They're really, really, really, really, really, really, really fast
0:13:59 > 0:14:00- # Are they slow?- No!
0:14:00 > 0:14:03- # They're really, really, really, really fast. #- Aargh!
0:14:09 > 0:14:12Part two.
0:14:12 > 0:14:15Welcome back to Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany.
0:14:15 > 0:14:18While we've been away, students and top topplers Toby
0:14:18 > 0:14:23and Tim have been extremely busy preparing their record attempt
0:14:23 > 0:14:25for most dominoes toppled in a spiral.
0:14:25 > 0:14:29They've spent almost 30 hours painstakingly laying
0:14:29 > 0:14:31out 50,500 dominoes.
0:14:31 > 0:14:35Luckily, there aren't as many rules as there are dominoes to
0:14:35 > 0:14:36topple in this attempt.
0:14:36 > 0:14:39The dominoes have to be of standard dimensions,
0:14:39 > 0:14:42though they are special ones without any dots on them.
0:14:42 > 0:14:46The push-over must start from one domino by one person.
0:14:46 > 0:14:48And you only get one go at this.
0:14:48 > 0:14:51So you have to be very careful.
0:14:51 > 0:14:54If you knock one over before the set-up is complete,
0:14:54 > 0:14:59it could start them all off and the spiral will spiral out of control.
0:14:59 > 0:15:03Tim's playing along now, but last night was quite a different story.
0:15:03 > 0:15:06Go on, Tim. Tell us what happened.
0:15:06 > 0:15:11We wanted to finish at 2am, but ten minutes before 2am,
0:15:11 > 0:15:16we had a very bad happening because I wanted to take some dominoes out of
0:15:16 > 0:15:20the box and one domino dropped out of my hand, into the spiral,
0:15:20 > 0:15:24and toppled like two or three lines of dominoes.
0:15:24 > 0:15:26We tried to stop it, but all in all,
0:15:26 > 0:15:302,500 dominoes toppled too early and we had to set them up again.
0:15:30 > 0:15:35So we had to leave at 4am and we only got two hours' sleep.
0:15:35 > 0:15:40Crikey! They had to re-lay 2,500 dominoes. I wonder how that felt.
0:15:40 > 0:15:43I was really close to crying, to be honest!
0:15:43 > 0:15:45Well, I'm not surprised.
0:15:45 > 0:15:48Tim's incident really shows the courage, care, determination,
0:15:48 > 0:15:52patience and perseverance required for a record attempt like this one.
0:15:52 > 0:15:56And they're not the only people who've had topple trouble.
0:15:56 > 0:16:00When these guys attempted the most dominoes toppled in a 3D pyramid
0:16:00 > 0:16:04record, they had nearly finished setting up when disaster struck.
0:16:06 > 0:16:09Look at the disappointment! Look at the rage!
0:16:09 > 0:16:12Watch him pummel his leg in anger!
0:16:13 > 0:16:16So, what did they do? Well, they simply started again
0:16:16 > 0:16:23and went on to break the record with 13,486 dominoes in July 2012.
0:16:23 > 0:16:26But what about today's record attempt?
0:16:26 > 0:16:30Even if Toby and Tim get all 50,500 dominoes laid out,
0:16:30 > 0:16:33that doesn't mean they'll get the record.
0:16:33 > 0:16:36If the dominoes don't all topple as planned because they haven't
0:16:36 > 0:16:40been set up correctly, it'll all have been for nothing.
0:16:40 > 0:16:44This is it, the final piece is being laid right now. Nail-biting.
0:16:44 > 0:16:47Have they laid them all out correctly?
0:16:50 > 0:16:55Remember, the current record is 33,533.
0:16:55 > 0:16:58So they're trying to smash it by a huge amount.
0:16:58 > 0:17:02All 50,500 dominoes are now ready to be toppled.
0:17:03 > 0:17:06Toby and Tim are in position.
0:17:06 > 0:17:11Official adjudicator Anna is in position. And so am I.
0:17:11 > 0:17:1536 empty crates and an audience of nervous fans await.
0:17:15 > 0:17:19- Tim, Toby, are you ready? - Yes, absolutely.
0:17:19 > 0:17:23OK, then. Well, best of luck, chaps. On my count.
0:17:23 > 0:17:27Three, two, one, topple.
0:17:31 > 0:17:34If their calculations are correct, it'll be another 14 minutes
0:17:34 > 0:17:36until they all go down,
0:17:36 > 0:17:39so let's have a quick breakaway with Haruka, but rest assured,
0:17:39 > 0:17:43if anything does go wrong, we'll be straight back to the action.
0:17:51 > 0:17:56This is Zac the macaw from California and he isn't just a pretty boy.
0:17:56 > 0:17:59He's a talented record holder too.
0:17:59 > 0:18:02The question is, what can he do 22 of in a minute?
0:18:09 > 0:18:12The answer is...slam dunks.
0:18:12 > 0:18:15Because Zac is part of a performing parrot show.
0:18:15 > 0:18:18Obviously this isn't a parrot's natural home,
0:18:18 > 0:18:22which as everybody knows is the shoulder of a pirate.
0:18:22 > 0:18:24Look at him go!
0:18:24 > 0:18:27Uh... wrong side, Zac.
0:18:27 > 0:18:28I think he's beaked...
0:18:28 > 0:18:32I mean peaked and with all that record-breaking talent,
0:18:32 > 0:18:37he still gets paid peanuts, just as he requested.
0:18:37 > 0:18:41From one colourful thing falling over to a load of others.
0:18:41 > 0:18:43Back to the dominoes and success
0:18:43 > 0:18:47so far at the record attempt for the most dominoes toppled in a spiral.
0:18:47 > 0:18:49But it's never certain, even at this stage,
0:18:49 > 0:18:52that Toby and Tim will succeed.
0:18:52 > 0:18:5530 hours of work are melting away before their eyes,
0:18:55 > 0:18:57as we near the end.
0:18:57 > 0:19:01The colours have all gone and they're into the blacks.
0:19:01 > 0:19:04It's absolutely amazing. We're really close now.
0:19:04 > 0:19:06- You must be excited. - Yeah. Absolutely.
0:19:06 > 0:19:09And it's going so fast.
0:19:09 > 0:19:12Will the final dominoes fall and set a new world record?
0:19:14 > 0:19:17Three rows, two rows, one row...
0:19:17 > 0:19:20THEY CHEER Super!
0:19:20 > 0:19:23'Super is German for super.'
0:19:23 > 0:19:26Tim, Toby, we're still yet to get the official word,
0:19:26 > 0:19:29but what's your immediate reaction to that?
0:19:29 > 0:19:33- Amazing! Awesome! It was just...cool. - Incredible.
0:19:33 > 0:19:3750,500 dominoes toppled.
0:19:37 > 0:19:39Officially Amazing!
0:19:39 > 0:19:42Congratulations.
0:19:42 > 0:19:44THEY APPLAUD
0:19:44 > 0:19:48Now, from German genius to something fishy in the Far East.
0:19:55 > 0:19:58'Just listen to me, young fellow...'
0:19:58 > 0:20:02Hello and welcome from a very busy Tokyo morning in Japan.
0:20:02 > 0:20:06Now, one thing we Japanese love more than anything in the world
0:20:06 > 0:20:10is fish. We eat it morning, noon and night
0:20:10 > 0:20:14and have fish-flavoured everything, from chewing gum to ice cream.
0:20:14 > 0:20:18This market has thousands of different species of fish on sale.
0:20:18 > 0:20:22And one of them makes the world's deadliest fish supper.
0:20:24 > 0:20:28Not that one. This one.
0:20:28 > 0:20:30It's known by various names:
0:20:34 > 0:20:36But here in Japan, we call it Fugu.
0:20:36 > 0:20:39And here it is, erm...asleep.
0:20:39 > 0:20:44It's been revered for centuries as a gourmet delight and it's eaten raw.
0:20:44 > 0:20:48But if the chef doesn't prepare it correctly, this fish will kill you!
0:20:52 > 0:20:55Fugu holds the record for being the most poisonous edible
0:20:55 > 0:20:57fish on the planet.
0:20:57 > 0:21:01And for that very reason, you're not going to see me eat it.
0:21:01 > 0:21:05Amazingly, despite being potentially deadly, people love to eat Fugu.
0:21:05 > 0:21:09But preparation of the fish is strictly controlled by law.
0:21:09 > 0:21:13Chefs take years to gain their Fugu licence
0:21:13 > 0:21:17and even have to take an exam. Mr Komori is a very experienced chef
0:21:17 > 0:21:21and he's going to demonstrate to me just how it's done.
0:21:21 > 0:21:24Fugu is eaten raw and if certain parts of the fish are not
0:21:24 > 0:21:28removed correctly, a person eating it could be poisoned,
0:21:28 > 0:21:31so if Chef Komori doesn't do his job properly,
0:21:31 > 0:21:36one of his customers could be dead within 20 minutes of eating the Fugu!
0:21:36 > 0:21:40Do you feel nervous when you're preparing Fugu?
0:21:40 > 0:21:42- TRANSLATION:- I don't feel nervous
0:21:42 > 0:21:45because of all the training I've had.
0:21:45 > 0:21:50The dangerous pieces are removed and separated from the rest of the fish.
0:21:50 > 0:21:53- TRANSLATION:- There is something mysterious
0:21:53 > 0:21:55and wonderful about this fish.
0:21:55 > 0:21:58There's also the thrill of danger in eating it as well.
0:22:00 > 0:22:03Wow! Chef Komori has turned the deadliest fish
0:22:03 > 0:22:04into such a pretty looking meal!
0:22:04 > 0:22:07I'm not sure it's going to replace cod and chips just yet,
0:22:07 > 0:22:11but here in Japan, deadly or not, people just love it.
0:22:11 > 0:22:13Arigatou gozaimashita!
0:22:13 > 0:22:16You're welcome, love, thank you, yes. Thank you.
0:22:20 > 0:22:22Eh?!
0:22:22 > 0:22:24Ah! Oooh!

0:22:47 > 0:22:49He holds the record for most powerful lungs.
0:22:49 > 0:22:52Heaviest weight lifted by both eye sockets. Ugh!
0:22:54 > 0:22:57Here he is, pulling a bus with his hair!
0:22:57 > 0:22:58Argh!
0:22:58 > 0:22:59HE GROANS
0:22:59 > 0:23:02And EAR he is, attempting to pull another bus,

0:23:06 > 0:23:09This man will stop at nothing to prove his strength.
0:23:09 > 0:23:11It all seems impossible. So what's his secret?
0:23:11 > 0:23:13It's not just that smile.
0:23:13 > 0:23:17If I want to get my hands on one of these, what do I need to do?
0:23:17 > 0:23:21You need physical training, physical strength, as well as mental strength.
0:23:21 > 0:23:24Mentally, it's meditation, you have to control your mind, yes.
0:23:24 > 0:23:27And you have to focus yourself.
0:23:27 > 0:23:30Close your eyes, and focus.

0:24:01 > 0:24:04This is ridiculous. I'm never going to get a trophy!
0:24:04 > 0:24:06- You will.- Will I?
0:24:06 > 0:24:08Try again and again.
0:24:08 > 0:24:11Manjit isn't going to try and break a record today,
0:24:11 > 0:24:14but he is going to show me a feat of strength.
0:24:14 > 0:24:18So we're off to his record-breaking lair to find out more.
0:24:18 > 0:24:21Now, no-one here has explained exactly what that feat is.
0:24:21 > 0:24:25- I'm a bit nervous. Can you put me out of my misery?- I'll tell you.
0:24:25 > 0:24:27What I'm going to do today,

0:24:31 > 0:24:34Oh, come on, come on! With your ears?!
0:24:36 > 0:24:41Manjit can only do these stunts after many years of training
0:24:41 > 0:24:44and by using specially-made clamps and apparatus.
0:24:44 > 0:24:47I wouldn't even put them on, let alone try and lift something,
0:24:47 > 0:24:49so do not attempt to this at home.
0:24:49 > 0:24:52- OK, Dan, you can have your seat, go on top?- Right.
0:24:52 > 0:24:55So, I'm going to sit here.
0:25:00 > 0:25:03Whatever happens now will be amazing.
0:25:03 > 0:25:05Either he'll lift me up with his ears,
0:25:05 > 0:25:07or he'll rip them clean off, trying.
0:25:07 > 0:25:10I feel that I've got the easier end of the bargain here.
0:25:10 > 0:25:13MANJIT SCREAMS AND GROANS
