0:00:46 > 0:00:48official Guinness World Records, including...

0:00:48 > 0:00:49Tempo!

0:00:49 > 0:00:53I meet another Ben hoping his nimble fingers

0:00:53 > 0:00:55will earn him a new world speed record.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Whoa!

0:00:57 > 0:01:00This multi-TALON-ted woman shows Al and I what life is like

0:01:00 > 0:01:03living with world-record-holding nails.

0:01:03 > 0:01:04Oh, no!

0:01:04 > 0:01:05- Well, hello there.- Hi.

0:01:05 > 0:01:09Al meets a woman who holds a truly shocking record.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Oh, my god! Oh, my god!

0:01:12 > 0:01:15And the Space Cowboy is back

0:01:15 > 0:01:17and balancing this monster on his chin

0:01:17 > 0:01:20to show just how record hungry he is.

0:01:20 > 0:01:23But before all those delights, let's head to America.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30Argh!

0:01:32 > 0:01:33What?

0:01:34 > 0:01:39Check this out! Imagine turning up to school in one of these bad boys.

0:01:41 > 0:01:42Now, I'm here in North Carolina,

0:01:42 > 0:01:48the home of souped-up, oversized, gas-guzzling mega motors.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50From jet cars to dragsters,

0:01:50 > 0:01:54motorbikes to trucks, this place has it all.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56But when it comes to supersized machines,

0:01:56 > 0:01:59the undisputed king of them all is the monster truck.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05OK, come with me. Because inside this massive truck,

0:02:05 > 0:02:09or as we like to call it in the monster truck biz, "the rig",

0:02:09 > 0:02:11is our potential record breaker.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14It's a lean, mean, monster-trucking machine.

0:02:14 > 0:02:19So prepare to be amazed as I present to you...the monster!

0:02:19 > 0:02:21ENGINE REVS

0:02:30 > 0:02:31BEEP-BEEP!

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Oh, very funny! Here's the real one!

0:02:34 > 0:02:37It's called Maximum Overkill.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39A proper monster truck.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43Now, I know what you're thinking, "Look at the teeny wheels!"

0:02:43 > 0:02:46That's so they can fit the truck into the rig.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49But don't worry, they'll soon be replaced by these big fellas.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52And once they're on, the vehicle will be ready

0:02:52 > 0:02:53to attempt a Guinness World Record

0:02:53 > 0:02:56for the fastest speed by a monster truck.

0:02:56 > 0:03:00Let's talk to the man who'll be in the driving seat, Randy Moore.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Obviously, you're going for a record today.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07You're hoping to get 100 miles per hour in this bad boy.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09I mean, is that even possible?

0:03:09 > 0:03:12Well, we were here about six months ago

0:03:12 > 0:03:16and we went 90, 93 and then 97.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20Randy and his team set a world record in March 2012,

0:03:20 > 0:03:24getting up to a speed of 96.8mph.

0:03:24 > 0:03:28But watch what happened to the truck when they tried to go faster.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39- We're not hoping for that this time. - No. We don't want that at all.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Because I don't like fire and fire comes up behind you

0:03:42 > 0:03:43and it's not a good thing.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47As long as everything goes as planned, we should break the record.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51So Randy is confident. I like that.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53And we know that Maximum Overkill

0:03:53 > 0:03:55has gone fast enough in practice runs.

0:03:55 > 0:04:01But can they hit that magical 100mph without fire breaking out again?

0:04:02 > 0:04:04We'll find out a bit later.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06But for now, let's leave them kicking the wheels

0:04:06 > 0:04:08to make sure they're nice and monstrous

0:04:08 > 0:04:10and head across country for something...

0:04:13 > 0:04:15Whaa!

0:04:15 > 0:04:16What?

0:04:16 > 0:04:18Argh!

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Oh!

0:04:20 > 0:04:21I'm here in San Diego

0:04:21 > 0:04:24to meet a mystery guest who's a world record holder.

0:04:24 > 0:04:27The only problem is, I don't know what that world record is.

0:04:27 > 0:04:31'This is Kim Goodman and she's an official world record holder

0:04:31 > 0:04:33'for something very mysterious.'

0:04:33 > 0:04:35- Well, hello there.- Hey. - How you doing? I'm Al.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39'Al has absolutely no idea what it could be.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43'But for you guys at home, it's one of these three options.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45'She pops her eyes out of their sockets.

0:04:45 > 0:04:49'She can stretch her bottom lip over her entire face.

0:04:49 > 0:04:52'Or she can play her teeth like a piano.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54'Al doesn't even get those clues.

0:04:54 > 0:04:56'Can he guess the record?'

0:04:56 > 0:04:57It's something I do with my body.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00- Can you spin something on your finger?- No.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03'No! Much weirder than that, Al.'

0:05:03 > 0:05:06Can you balance...like, on your head?

0:05:06 > 0:05:08'Come on, you can do better than that.'

0:05:08 > 0:05:12Can you say something really rapidly, like all the states...

0:05:12 > 0:05:15- No!- ..all the oceans? - 'You're way off.'

0:05:15 > 0:05:18- No.- 'So, it's a total fail from Al.

0:05:18 > 0:05:21'I can't wait to see his face when she reveals it.'

0:05:21 > 0:05:23- Are you ready? - I'm ready, what is it?

0:05:23 > 0:05:25'Guys at home,

0:05:25 > 0:05:27'are you ready for THIS?'

0:05:27 > 0:05:28Oh, my god!

0:05:28 > 0:05:31Oh, my god! THEY LAUGH

0:05:31 > 0:05:33I was not ready for that.

0:05:34 > 0:05:36Why didn't you guys tell me that?

0:05:36 > 0:05:39'I can't believe I didn't see THAT coming.'

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Please do it again...

0:05:41 > 0:05:42Oh, God.

0:05:42 > 0:05:46'So, Kim holds the record for eye protrusion.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50'She can get her peepers out to a distance of 12mm from the socket.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54'Good job her eyelids are closed when she sneezes.'

0:05:54 > 0:05:55SNEEZE

0:05:55 > 0:05:59- My God! Does that hurt?- No. - When did you know you could do that?

0:05:59 > 0:06:02- When I was a teenager. - Oh, my goodness.

0:06:02 > 0:06:04Kim, it was great to meet you.

0:06:04 > 0:06:08'Thanks to Kim for showing me that eye-popping record.'

0:06:08 > 0:06:11'Oh, she's off again! Time for this Ben to go and meet another Ben.'

0:06:15 > 0:06:16Whoo...

0:06:16 > 0:06:17- Oh!- Er...

0:06:18 > 0:06:20Yuck!

0:06:21 > 0:06:24- Ben!- Hey!- Good to see you. How are you doing?- Nice to meet you.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27Lovely to meet you. I've always had a quiet admiration for your name.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29Solid. I like it.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32'Musician Ben Lee holds the Guinness World Record

0:06:32 > 0:06:35'for the fastest electric violinist.

0:06:35 > 0:06:38'THIS is a man with something to smile about.

0:06:39 > 0:06:43'In 2011, he played the entire song Flight Of The Bumblebee,

0:06:43 > 0:06:47'note-perfect, in just 58.515 seconds.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51'Ben played an amazing 15 notes per second,

0:06:51 > 0:06:54'which is double the speed of your normal violinist.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57'Today, he's going to try and beat his own record.'

0:06:59 > 0:07:01Well, Ben, it's all very good you standing here

0:07:01 > 0:07:04with your blingy violin and your claims to records,

0:07:04 > 0:07:06but I've not heard any evidence.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09Well, let's do something first, and I think you'll like this.

0:07:09 > 0:07:12- I'll play it really quick, and you try and guess what I'm playing.- OK.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14I'm a man who loves a challenge.

0:07:14 > 0:07:15Let's do this.

0:07:15 > 0:07:20'So, Ben is about to play a very famous pop song, super-fast.'

0:07:20 > 0:07:23HE PLAYS VERY FAST

0:07:27 > 0:07:31- Are you sure that's a pop song?- This is what it sounds like, half speed.

0:07:31 > 0:07:32OK. Let's see if I can guess this one.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35'While Ben was playing that song at high-speed,

0:07:35 > 0:07:37'his technical assistant was recording into this clever computer

0:07:37 > 0:07:41'so that we can hear it back at a normal speed.'

0:07:41 > 0:07:43TUNE PLAYS BACK

0:07:46 > 0:07:48I think I know this one! Is...

0:07:48 > 0:07:51- Is this Kylie Minogue?- Yes! - Can't Get You Out Of My Head?

0:07:51 > 0:07:54# I just can't get you out of my head... #

0:07:54 > 0:07:55Good tune.

0:07:55 > 0:07:57I like this guy's taste in music, too.

0:07:57 > 0:08:00We've got so much more in common than just names.

0:08:00 > 0:08:04For this record attempt, sadly, Kylie doesn't get a look in. Aw!

0:08:04 > 0:08:07Instead, Ben will be playing Rimsky-Korsakov's

0:08:07 > 0:08:10The Flight Of The Bumblebee, as fast as he possibly can.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12Let's hear what that song sounds like

0:08:12 > 0:08:15when it's played at normal speed on a piano.

0:08:15 > 0:08:18The time has come to hear Ben play that song

0:08:18 > 0:08:21on his million-pound violin at over twice the normal speed.

0:08:21 > 0:08:23The rules for this attempt are as follows...

0:08:32 > 0:08:35Official adjudicator Claire and musical expert Adam are here

0:08:35 > 0:08:39to make sure there's no fiddling about and everyone's playing fairly.

0:08:39 > 0:08:42Right, it's blink-and-you-miss-it time.

0:08:42 > 0:08:45- Let's see if everyone's ready. Claire, are you happy?- I am.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47Excellent. Adam, you too? Excellent.

0:08:47 > 0:08:52And Ben, if you're happy, I will count you in. Let's break a record.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55'The time to beat is 58.515 seconds.

0:08:55 > 0:08:56'Can he do it?'

0:08:56 > 0:08:58One, two, three, four...

0:09:16 > 0:09:20'This song has a whopping 853 notes in it,

0:09:20 > 0:09:22'and Ben must play every single one.

0:09:22 > 0:09:25'Luckily, I'm here with my impeccable eyesight

0:09:25 > 0:09:26'to make sure he does.'

0:09:34 > 0:09:36Yes, yes! That looked great!

0:09:36 > 0:09:40You glistened like that violin, sir. How did it feel?

0:09:40 > 0:09:43Awesome. Felt nice and warm and buzzy.

0:09:43 > 0:09:46Good. Well, Claire and Adam are going to go away and assess it,

0:09:46 > 0:09:49so all we can do in the meantime is just wait.

0:09:49 > 0:09:52'Well, "warm", fine. "Buzzing", OK.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54'But did it feel record-breaky?

0:09:54 > 0:09:57'Claire and Adam now need to listen back to each

0:09:57 > 0:10:00'and every note at a slower speed to make sure all is in order.

0:10:00 > 0:10:02'Cue tense music.'

0:10:02 > 0:10:05- FAST MUSIC - 'Yes, very funny.

0:10:05 > 0:10:07- 'At the normal speed, please.' - MUSIC SLOWS DOWN

0:10:07 > 0:10:09'Thank you.'

0:10:09 > 0:10:13Oh, this looks promising. Claire, do we have some results?

0:10:13 > 0:10:14We have a result.

0:10:15 > 0:10:21Ben, you've actually held this record already, with 58.515 seconds.

0:12:46 > 0:12:50'Welcome back to North Carolina, where Maximum Overkill is out

0:12:50 > 0:12:53'to prove it's the fastest monster truck in the world.

0:12:53 > 0:12:56'Driver Randy and his team are making the final adjustments

0:12:56 > 0:12:59'ahead of their all-important test drive before attempting to

0:12:59 > 0:13:03'set a new record for the fastest speed by a monster truck.'

0:13:03 > 0:13:06I want to make sure everything's good to go, everything's tight.

0:13:06 > 0:13:09Just going over everything, because when I'm driving down through

0:13:09 > 0:13:12there are sounds and you have to be really alert with your ears to catch

0:13:12 > 0:13:16the sounds and what's happening, so you can turn it off immediately.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19'Maximum Overkill is ready for its test run.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22'This is a crucial part of the record attempt.

0:13:22 > 0:13:23'If the truck isn't running right,

0:13:23 > 0:13:25'it could put the whole attempt at risk,

0:13:25 > 0:13:27'not to mention Randy's safety.'

0:13:27 > 0:13:30TANNOY: Everyone, please clear this area.

0:13:30 > 0:13:31'OK, they're all set.

0:13:31 > 0:13:35'Just waiting for the track to clear and the lights to go green.'

0:13:35 > 0:13:37Snap down. Yellow, yellow and then green.

0:13:40 > 0:13:41Here we go!

0:13:41 > 0:13:44'And they're off with a roar.'

0:13:45 > 0:13:47Every time that thing changes sound,

0:13:47 > 0:13:49the gear kicks into the back of them.

0:13:54 > 0:13:57'And... Oh. They're not going as fast as I'd have thought.

0:13:58 > 0:14:01'That doesn't look like 100mph to me.

0:14:01 > 0:14:04'I'd be calling roadside assistance about now.

0:14:04 > 0:14:07'Maximum Overkill looks more like Maximum Let-Down.'

0:14:07 > 0:14:11We've had an ignition problem. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong,

0:14:11 > 0:14:14but something in the ignition has just given us a big mess.

0:14:14 > 0:14:17We can't find what it is and it's not firing.

0:14:17 > 0:14:20- Do think you'll still get a chance to go for this?- Oh, yeah.

0:14:20 > 0:14:21- We don't quit for anything. - Fantastic.

0:14:21 > 0:14:25Well, that's the attitude of a record breaker, I think.

0:14:25 > 0:14:28'While Randy puts his screwdrivers into action to fix his motor

0:14:28 > 0:14:30'so he can attempt that world record,

0:14:30 > 0:14:33'let's meet a car that already has one.'

0:14:33 > 0:14:36This is a jet car.

0:14:36 > 0:14:38It has a jet engine in that car.

0:14:38 > 0:14:41An actual jet engine out of an F5 fighter.

0:14:41 > 0:14:44'This is an F5 fighter jet.

0:14:44 > 0:14:48'Imagine the engine from this on a car!

0:14:48 > 0:14:50'Oh, yeah!

0:14:50 > 0:14:52'It's fast, and Rich Hanna drives it.'

0:14:52 > 0:14:55This is where it gets hot, 1,600 degrees.

0:14:55 > 0:14:57It shoots about 20 feet of flame out the back,

0:14:57 > 0:14:59billows and billows of smoke.

0:14:59 > 0:15:01Jet engine obviously in the middle,

0:15:01 > 0:15:03and on each side we have parachutes,

0:15:03 > 0:15:05one main parachute that we always deploy

0:15:05 > 0:15:09and then this is our best friend right here, our emergency parachute.

0:15:09 > 0:15:11Hopefully we don't have to use that, that's just in case.

0:15:11 > 0:15:16'So, jet cars need brakes and a parachute to slow them down.

0:15:16 > 0:15:17'And just like skydivers have,

0:15:17 > 0:15:22'there's even an emergency parachute in case the main one fails to open.'

0:15:22 > 0:15:24How fast can this baby go?

0:15:24 > 0:15:27This one a here is the record holder, 295 miles an hour.

0:15:29 > 0:15:32The average family car can take up to ten seconds

0:15:32 > 0:15:34to travel from 0-60mph,

0:15:34 > 0:15:39but these jet cars can do 0-60 in less than a second.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42It's awesome speed,

0:15:42 > 0:15:45but then again, that's because you're driving a rocket.

0:15:45 > 0:15:47Hope those seats are washable.

0:15:47 > 0:15:50Rich is strapped in and ready to go.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54And in case you thought this truck driver had gone mad, he's

0:15:54 > 0:15:58dousing the tarmac in water to stop those jet engines from melting it.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04They're ready to go.

0:16:04 > 0:16:06Look at those flames!

0:16:15 > 0:16:19Check out that thrust. Wow!

0:16:19 > 0:16:23266 mph in a matter of seconds.

0:16:23 > 0:16:26And seconds is all they've got because at that speed,

0:16:26 > 0:16:28they soon run out of track.

0:16:28 > 0:16:32The brakes alone would never be enough, hence the parachutes.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34Wow, did you see that?

0:16:34 > 0:16:37They were travelling at almost 300mph.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39You could feel it in your chest.

0:16:39 > 0:16:43Every time those engines boomed out, it was like an earthquake up here.

0:16:44 > 0:16:48While these super-fast cars have been tearing up the track,

0:16:48 > 0:16:49have Randy and his team managed

0:16:49 > 0:16:52to get Maximum Overkill back up and running

0:16:52 > 0:16:56and can it now get a brand-new Guinness World Record for speed?

0:16:56 > 0:16:58Power's on.

0:16:58 > 0:17:00ENGINE STUTTERS

0:17:00 > 0:17:02'Erm... No.

0:17:02 > 0:17:06'Let's face it, that doesn't sound like a happy monster truck,

0:17:06 > 0:17:08'in fact, it sounds like a very dead one.'

0:17:08 > 0:17:11Had some crazy ignition problems, we worked on it all day,

0:17:11 > 0:17:14but unfortunately it just wasn't going to happen.

0:17:14 > 0:17:15Sadly, Randy and his team

0:17:15 > 0:17:18couldn't fix the engine trouble from the test run,

0:17:18 > 0:17:20so they're forced to admit defeat

0:17:20 > 0:17:25and head home empty-handed, without having even attempted the record.

0:17:25 > 0:17:28It's a disappointing day for Randy and Maximum Overkill,

0:17:28 > 0:17:31but there's always next time.

0:17:37 > 0:17:40You know that when I'm not skydiving...

0:17:40 > 0:17:43swimming with sharks...

0:17:43 > 0:17:46or wrestling bears...

0:17:46 > 0:17:49I like to take a little time out to pamper myself.

0:17:49 > 0:17:51I call it Ben time, cos I'm a modern man.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54It might be a foot rub, quick facial,

0:17:54 > 0:17:56sometimes I even get my nails done.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59I know what you're thinking - should've gone a bit pinker.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01But this one isn't about me,

0:18:01 > 0:18:04and anyway, these are nothing compared to our next record holder.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08Chris "The Duchess" Walton

0:18:08 > 0:18:10is an American rock singer who lives in Las Vegas,

0:18:10 > 0:18:14but she's not a record holder because of her voice,

0:18:14 > 0:18:17Al and I are meeting her because of these bad boys.

0:18:19 > 0:18:22The combined length of her fingernails on each hand

0:18:22 > 0:18:25was recorded by Guinness World Records in 2012

0:18:25 > 0:18:28as a staggering six metres!

0:18:28 > 0:18:31That's an average of 60cm a nail.

0:18:31 > 0:18:33It's taken her nearly 20 years

0:18:33 > 0:18:36to grow the world's longest fingernails.

0:18:36 > 0:18:38Imagine trying to live your life

0:18:38 > 0:18:41with these things on the ends of your fingers.

0:18:41 > 0:18:45It would be a struggle making a sandwich...

0:18:45 > 0:18:48rotten trying to relax...

0:18:48 > 0:18:51and more than just a little tough in the toilet.

0:18:52 > 0:18:54TOILET FLUSHING

0:18:54 > 0:18:57How on earth does The Duchess do it?

0:18:57 > 0:18:58What can't you do?

0:18:58 > 0:19:01I can't pick-pocket, so there's no stealing.

0:19:01 > 0:19:02Right. OK.

0:19:02 > 0:19:06I still do pretty much everything, like, washing clothes,

0:19:06 > 0:19:09I buy the long barbecue tongs

0:19:09 > 0:19:12and I pull my clothes out of the wash that way.

0:19:12 > 0:19:16- So you have to semi-barbecue your clothes to wash them?- Exactly.- Good.

0:19:16 > 0:19:19But I do that in the cans that are up really high on the shelf,

0:19:19 > 0:19:23I just get my other tongs and I pull them down from there.

0:19:23 > 0:19:25I take my contact lenses out with this one.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28I just dip it in the thing and after I scoop it off of this one,

0:19:28 > 0:19:30I rinse it and then I just pop it in.

0:19:30 > 0:19:32That's very impressive.

0:19:32 > 0:19:35- All right, I'm going to throw a situation out to you.- OK.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37You've got an itch up your nose, how do you deal with it?

0:19:37 > 0:19:39I blow it with tissue.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42SHE LAUGHS

0:19:42 > 0:19:45AL: Trust Ben to ask the nose-picking question!

0:19:45 > 0:19:49I don't know about you, but I need a nail file...

0:19:49 > 0:19:50I mean a fact file...

0:19:50 > 0:19:52I mean...a nail fact file!

0:19:53 > 0:19:55To keep her nails intact,

0:19:55 > 0:19:57The Duchess says she stays away from humans where possible

0:19:57 > 0:19:59and eats lots of chocolate.

0:19:59 > 0:20:03In 2007, she clipped off some of her nails

0:20:03 > 0:20:05because they stretched down to her ankles

0:20:05 > 0:20:08and when driving she didn't want them hanging out the window.

0:20:08 > 0:20:11The Duchess makes her own nail varnish,

0:20:11 > 0:20:15but it takes around an hour and a half to apply it.

0:20:15 > 0:20:18Right, Duchess, you claim that you can do anything, pretty much,

0:20:18 > 0:20:20with you nails. Good.

0:20:20 > 0:20:21I'm going to put this to the test,

0:20:21 > 0:20:24because I've devised what I like to call

0:20:24 > 0:20:26the Officially Amazing Nailympics.

0:20:29 > 0:20:33'And since we're on my home turf and I'm wearing MY referee T-shirt today,

0:20:33 > 0:20:37'I'll be ensuring fair play during this nail-biting game.'

0:20:37 > 0:20:40- Duchess, meet Al Jackson, my colleague.- The lovely Duchess.

0:20:40 > 0:20:43- Nice to meet you.- Great, so it's going to be impartial already.

0:20:43 > 0:20:44I'm going to be impartial.

0:20:44 > 0:20:47- Just tell us what's going to happen, Al.- All right.

0:20:53 > 0:20:54Open these.

0:20:54 > 0:20:57Remember, I want a good, clean fight, no scratching, no nail-biting.

0:20:57 > 0:20:59Let's go.

0:21:03 > 0:21:07Yeah. You should be really thirsty about right now.

0:21:09 > 0:21:13That was incredible, how did you do it?

0:21:13 > 0:21:16A quarter. The change that you get after you buy one of these...

0:21:16 > 0:21:18opens it up.

0:21:18 > 0:21:20Mark it one for The Duchess.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22'Some people might think that was cheating,

0:21:22 > 0:21:25'but I'd say it was inventive thinking from The Duchess.'

0:21:29 > 0:21:33The first person to text me "Officially Amazing" wins.

0:21:33 > 0:21:36Three, two, one...go.

0:21:36 > 0:21:40'Look at that! She's using her knuckle to type.'

0:21:49 > 0:21:53- I think this competition is officially...- Over!- ..over.

0:21:53 > 0:21:56Once again, it's the lovely Duchess.

0:21:56 > 0:21:58Ben, you should be ashamed, I'm taking your phone.

0:21:58 > 0:22:01- Did it come through? - It didn't come through.

0:22:01 > 0:22:06Send a message and tell your friends you're a loser.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08Duchess, you beat me fair and square.

0:22:08 > 0:22:11- You could say...you nailed it? - TUMBLEWEED

0:22:11 > 0:22:15'Ooh, tough crowd. Anyway, enough bad gags,

0:22:15 > 0:22:17'Haruka, over to you.'

0:22:27 > 0:22:29If you love big vehicles,

0:22:29 > 0:22:32you'll be amazed at what I'm about to see today.

0:22:32 > 0:22:35It's like a beauty pageant for trucks.

0:22:35 > 0:22:41Welcome to the officially amazing world of Dekotora.

0:22:48 > 0:22:51These are the Dekotora trucks.

0:22:51 > 0:22:54They are normal working lorries that travel all over Japan,

0:22:54 > 0:22:57but have been transformed into moving pieces of art

0:22:57 > 0:22:59by their owners.

0:22:59 > 0:23:03Each driver has spent loads of money making their vehicle look the best.

0:23:03 > 0:23:05By day, they look pretty beautiful,

0:23:05 > 0:23:10but by night they really are something else.

0:23:10 > 0:23:12Last year, hundreds of Dekotora trucks gathered

0:23:12 > 0:23:15to attempt a new Guinness World Record

0:23:15 > 0:23:17for the most Dekotora trucks in one place.

0:23:17 > 0:23:20Sadly, they were just short of the required 500,

0:23:20 > 0:23:24so there will be no record attempt today,

0:23:24 > 0:23:28but I am going to talk to a man about a van - well, truck.

0:23:28 > 0:23:30This driver represents the truckers

0:23:30 > 0:23:34and he told me how he came up with the design of his truck.

0:23:34 > 0:23:39TRANSLATION: I draw inspiration from my lifestyle, my home town

0:23:39 > 0:23:40and my family.

0:23:40 > 0:23:42The decorations are done professionally,

0:23:42 > 0:23:45but I design everything myself.

0:23:45 > 0:23:51So how does it feel driving one of these? Do you feel cool and proud?

0:23:51 > 0:23:56The truck itself is much cooler than I'll ever be.

0:23:58 > 0:24:00Subarashii.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03And if you don't have your own Dekotora truck,

0:24:03 > 0:24:08you could always bling up your bike instead. Now, that IS cool!

0:24:08 > 0:24:11Whilst Haruka's off to deliver a sofa in style,

0:24:11 > 0:24:13let's head back to the UK

0:24:13 > 0:24:17to see what one of our resident daredevils is up to this week.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28His mum calls him Shane,

0:24:28 > 0:24:31but we know this record-breaking maverick outlaw by another name.

0:24:31 > 0:24:34Yes, the Space Cowboy.

0:24:34 > 0:24:37He holds countless Guinness World Records,

0:24:37 > 0:24:40mostly for ridiculously dangerous stuff.

0:24:40 > 0:24:43So far, we've seen him set two new juggling world records,

0:24:43 > 0:24:45one for juggling and eating apples,

0:24:45 > 0:24:48the other for juggling with a chain saw.

0:24:48 > 0:24:50I know which one I'd rather do.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54But just what has he got in store for us today?

0:24:58 > 0:25:03Ah, Space Cowboy, with a lawnmower, and yet, no lawn. What's going on?

0:25:03 > 0:25:06I'm actually going to go for a new world record,

0:25:06 > 0:25:10the longest duration balancing a running lawnmower on the chin.

0:25:10 > 0:25:11A running... Not even just this,

0:25:11 > 0:25:14which looks heavy enough as it is,

0:25:14 > 0:25:16- actually running whilst on your chin?- It is heavy.

0:25:16 > 0:25:19- Is it possible?- It is possible.

0:25:19 > 0:25:23It's very difficult and probably quite dangerous.

0:25:23 > 0:25:26Probably quite dangerous?! I'd say extremely!

0:25:26 > 0:25:29OK. Here are the rules.

0:25:37 > 0:25:39And if the Space Cowboy wants to set a new record,

0:25:39 > 0:25:43he'll need to balance the lawnmower for at least one minute 30 seconds.

0:25:43 > 0:25:46OK, somehow - I don't quite know how - we're in a situation

0:25:46 > 0:25:50where a man is about to balance a live lawnmower on his chin.

0:25:50 > 0:25:53I know. Space Cowboy, are you ready to do this?

0:25:53 > 0:25:55As ready as I'll ever be.

0:25:55 > 0:25:58- Good. Adjudicator Craig, are you ready?- I'm ready.

0:25:58 > 0:26:02Right, so the lawnmower is switched on and the blades are spinning.

0:26:02 > 0:26:06The Space Cowboy is almost ready to dice with danger.

0:26:06 > 0:26:10Three, two, one, mow.

0:26:10 > 0:26:12'The lawnmower's up and we're off.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17'The lawnmower weighs eight kilograms

0:26:17 > 0:26:21'and all that weight is being supported just by his chin.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25'Remember, those spinning metal blades

0:26:25 > 0:26:27'aren't that far away from his face.'

0:26:27 > 0:26:30Come on, Space Cowboy, it's looking good.

0:26:30 > 0:26:32'And if the lawnmower falls,

0:26:32 > 0:26:34'they aren't that far away from mine either.'

0:26:34 > 0:26:36Less than 30 seconds to break the record now.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38Come on, Space Cowboy, you can do this!

0:26:38 > 0:26:40'Space Cowboy has adapted this lawnmower

0:26:40 > 0:26:42'especially for the record attempt.

0:26:42 > 0:26:44'You might already have guessed

0:26:44 > 0:26:47'that lawnmowers aren't actually made with chin-balancing in mind.'

0:26:47 > 0:26:49- One minute 30.- One minute 30!

0:26:49 > 0:26:56We have a record! We have a record! Yeah!

0:27:01 > 0:27:04So, it's another world record for the Space Cowboy,

0:27:04 > 0:27:08this one for the longest time balancing a lawnmower on his chin.

0:27:08 > 0:27:12- Obviously! And it's going to be "turf" to beat.- AL: Oh, Ben!

0:27:12 > 0:27:15What have I told you about ending the show with your bad jokes?

0:27:15 > 0:27:18Instead, let's remind ourselves of this week's officially amazing stuff.

0:27:18 > 0:27:20See you next time.

0:27:20 > 0:27:23# Well, Randy tried to get a speed record

0:27:23 > 0:27:26# In his great big monster truck

0:27:26 > 0:27:28# But he couldn't get The ignition to work

0:27:28 > 0:27:30# Those guys just had no luck

0:27:30 > 0:27:33# We saw The Duchess's super-long nails

0:27:33 > 0:27:35# How does she type e-mails?

0:27:35 > 0:27:38# Al got a big surprise From those two bulging eyes

0:27:38 > 0:27:43# And Ben's record-breaking fingers Were super-fiddly!

0:27:43 > 0:27:46# It's all officially...

0:27:46 > 0:27:47# Amazing! #
