0:01:42 > 0:01:49padded in safety gear because there is a lot of this...this...and this.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Now, every American football team has their cheerleaders who get

0:01:52 > 0:01:53the crowds going.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jalyssa Walker.

0:02:05 > 0:02:0823-year-old US Army Officer, Jalyssa, used to be a top

0:02:08 > 0:02:13cheerleader here at UTEP, that's the University of Texas El Paso.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28Pretty handy for today's record attempt of...

0:02:28 > 0:02:29most consecutive backflips,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32or handsprings as they're known in the record breaking world.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Don't ask. These are consecutive handsprings.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Jalyssa's going to try and backflip the entire length

0:02:38 > 0:02:41of this 110 yard pitch without stopping.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44That's a little over 100m to you Brits.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48Her target today is 50 consecutive handsprings, which is 14 more

0:02:48 > 0:02:52than the current world record of 36. You're trying to shatter the record.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54That's right, I want no-one else to catch up to me.

0:02:54 > 0:02:55No-one else will touch it, OK.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58What kind of gets sore as you go through your flips?

0:02:58 > 0:03:03- My legs. Once I get to 35, 40, that's when I start feeling it.- OK.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06The stadium is pretty empty now, but Jalyssa wants to attempt it during

0:03:06 > 0:03:11tonight's game, at half-time, in front of 40,000 screaming home fans.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14No pressure! All right, well, I'm done talking,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16I want to see what you can do. Will you show me?

0:03:16 > 0:03:19I sure can, I just need some help from some of the cheerleaders.

0:03:19 > 0:03:20Let's do it.

0:03:20 > 0:03:24We're about to see some of Jalyssa's old cheerleading moves.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Americans take cheerleading very seriously.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30As you can see, you need to be extremely fit and flexible

0:03:30 > 0:03:36and it requires a lot of practice and skill as well.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39- Jalyssa, get over here, that was awesome.- Thank you.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41- It was like you didn't miss a beat. - No, not at all.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43- All right. Did that bring back memories of cheering?- It did.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46- It makes me want to go back out there tonight.- All right.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Well, get ready for tonight, I know you're going to get it.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51The stadium might be empty now, but Jalyssa wants it to be full

0:03:51 > 0:03:55for her fliptacular most consecutive handsprings record attempt.

0:03:55 > 0:04:00Can she pull it off in front of 40,000 home fans?

0:04:00 > 0:04:02Stay tuned to find out.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04Now for something...

0:04:11 > 0:04:15Welcome to Butzbach, in Germany, a town that seems a million miles

0:04:15 > 0:04:17away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20But it's hustle and bustle that we're here to see, as this

0:04:20 > 0:04:24record attempt requires superhuman speed.

0:04:24 > 0:04:27This...is...sport stacking.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30Sport stacking, also known as cup or speed stacking,

0:04:30 > 0:04:34was founded in the early '80s in Southern California.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37It involves stacking specialised plastic cups in specific

0:04:37 > 0:04:39sequences as fast as you can.

0:04:40 > 0:04:4418-year-old Timo Reuhl and Ryan Powell, who's just 14,

0:04:44 > 0:04:48want to beat their own stacking Guinness World Record, for which they

0:04:48 > 0:04:53have to work together, using one hand each to do the stacking.

0:04:53 > 0:04:56Let's meet the speedy stacking supermen now.

0:04:56 > 0:05:00What makes it a sport? Is it just that you're wearing shorts?

0:05:00 > 0:05:07- TRANSLATION:- Let me tell you, if you do it for 20 or 30 minutes

0:05:07 > 0:05:10you'll sweat. That's sport.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14I want to see it. Can you show me a demonstration?

0:05:14 > 0:05:16- TRANSLATION:- Why-aye!

0:05:16 > 0:05:20Timo and Ryan are demonstrating the cycle stack slowly.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22This is the one they hold the world record for.

0:05:22 > 0:05:23Pay attention.

0:05:23 > 0:05:29This is a 3-6-3 stack, followed by a 6-6 then a 1-10-1,

0:05:29 > 0:05:32concluding with a 3-6-3 down stack.

0:05:32 > 0:05:34Got it?

0:05:34 > 0:05:38Wow. That was incredible. Two people working as one.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41I think we need a slow-mo. The attempt you're watching now

0:05:41 > 0:05:43took the boys a fraction over eight seconds.

0:05:43 > 0:05:47You practically need a telepathic connection to stack this fast.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50But to beat their record today, they'll need to do everything

0:05:50 > 0:05:54they've just done in under 6.53 seconds.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56Here are the rules -

0:05:56 > 0:05:58only official cups can be used.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00The attempt is timed electronically.

0:06:00 > 0:06:02It starts when the boys' hands leave

0:06:02 > 0:06:07the timing pad and stops when both hands are placed back on it.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09The boys have just three attempts to try and beat the record.

0:06:09 > 0:06:11Mess them up and it's game over.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15Guys, in your own time. Take it away.

0:06:15 > 0:06:17Preparation is key.

0:06:17 > 0:06:20They're ready, the cups are ready, let's see how they do.

0:06:20 > 0:06:236.53 seconds to beat.

0:06:23 > 0:06:263-6-3 done.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29Flying fingers. Oh, no, you can see here how hard this really is.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32We're talking milliseconds and millimetres,

0:06:32 > 0:06:36that's the difference between success and failure.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38Ryan missing the drop, end of attempt.

0:06:38 > 0:06:41OK, that's the first attempt down and they're going

0:06:41 > 0:06:42straight into the second.

0:06:44 > 0:06:47Limbering up, the sportsmen's fidget there.

0:06:47 > 0:06:51Hands, cups, matt, sweaty hands, trousers, cups.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54That's a mixture of superstition and rehearsing their moves.

0:06:54 > 0:06:58And sweaty hands. It has to be perfect.

0:07:00 > 0:07:01Oh, and that's it for attempt two.

0:07:01 > 0:07:03It was over before it had really begun.

0:07:03 > 0:07:06But that's the fickle nature of the cycle stack.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09OK, that's two down, no record yet.

0:07:09 > 0:07:11If they're going to do it, it's got to be now.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15Final chance now. Nail it, and eternal glory will be theirs.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18Mess it up - well, it doesn't bear thinking about.

0:07:18 > 0:07:203-6-3 - boom.

0:07:20 > 0:07:22Now the 6-6, yes. Yes.

0:07:22 > 0:07:27The 1-10-1 and... Oh, capitulation. Timo catching an edge again

0:07:27 > 0:07:29and sending everything flying.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31Look how close they were this time!

0:07:31 > 0:07:35It was the 1-10-1 that cost them the record.

0:07:35 > 0:07:38They still had a full second to complete the down stack

0:07:38 > 0:07:40but just a tiny slip.

0:07:40 > 0:07:41Ooh, painful stuff.

0:07:41 > 0:07:46Now, if you thought cup stacking was a weird sport, check this out.

0:07:53 > 0:07:55We're in Beijing, China, to see

0:07:55 > 0:07:59two presenters witness an unlikely record attempt involving flippers.

0:07:59 > 0:08:00But what is it?

0:08:00 > 0:08:03The most football juggles in flippers?

0:08:03 > 0:08:07The fastest time to eat three kippers in flippers?

0:08:07 > 0:08:10Or the fastest 100m hurdles in flippers?

0:08:10 > 0:08:15And the answer is - the fastest 100m hurdles in flippers.

0:08:15 > 0:08:16Obviously!

0:08:16 > 0:08:18And this is current record holder

0:08:18 > 0:08:21Veronica Torr from New Zealand who's here to challenge two local

0:08:21 > 0:08:26athletes and try and beat her current record of 19.28 seconds.

0:08:26 > 0:08:31Now, the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, runs 100m in 9.58

0:08:31 > 0:08:34seconds, which is only about nine seconds quicker than Veronica and

0:08:34 > 0:08:38he didn't have to clear ten hurdles and he runs without flippers.

0:08:38 > 0:08:40Lazy!

0:08:40 > 0:08:43On your marks, get set, flip!

0:08:44 > 0:08:49Veronica's the hot favourite here and she is already racing ahead.

0:08:49 > 0:08:53She's using the classic frog technique - run fast,

0:08:53 > 0:08:56jump high and catch flies.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59OK, I made that last bit up, but it's sort of froggy.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01She's storming ahead,

0:09:01 > 0:09:04her competitors just two specks in the distance.

0:09:04 > 0:09:09And it's an easy win for Veronica, but is it a Guinness World Record?

0:09:09 > 0:09:15Yes! Veronica has smashed it, finishing the course in just 18.52

0:09:15 > 0:09:19seconds, beating her previous record by nearly a second.

0:09:19 > 0:09:25Well done, Veronica. Officially a bit odd but still officially amazing.

0:09:25 > 0:09:29Now, from flippers back to flipping in...

0:09:36 > 0:09:37Part two.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44Welcome back to El Paso, Texas, where we're about to find out if

0:09:44 > 0:09:48Jalyssa Walker can set the record for most consecutive handsprings.

0:09:48 > 0:09:53Now, if you notice, our atmosphere has changed just a little bit

0:09:53 > 0:09:55since you've been gone.

0:09:55 > 0:09:58The fans are here, the players are here, the game is on.

0:09:58 > 0:10:02Now the attempt is taking place at half-time so we have to get ready.

0:10:02 > 0:10:03It's record breaking time.

0:10:03 > 0:10:07Wo-ho-ho! Touch down!

0:10:07 > 0:10:11That's like a try in your rugby, or a goal in what you call football.

0:10:11 > 0:10:16That's REAL football, Al. Let's just get on with today's record.

0:10:16 > 0:10:18Hold on, Shires.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21First you have to do a little good luck ritual with Jalyssa

0:10:21 > 0:10:22and her mum Jolene.

0:10:22 > 0:10:25Almost half-time. Are you a little nervous?

0:10:25 > 0:10:28- How are you feeling?- I'm just really excited to show everybody.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30I can see it in your eyes, you're ready to go.

0:10:30 > 0:10:31Do you guys have like a good luck ritual

0:10:31 > 0:10:33that you do before she goes out there?

0:10:33 > 0:10:34We sure do.

0:10:36 > 0:10:40Oh, that's so cute! Can I get some pinkie love now?

0:10:40 > 0:10:42All right, there you go, a little pinkie love for you.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44Good luck. I know you're going to do it.

0:10:44 > 0:10:47Can I have some pinkie love, Al?

0:10:47 > 0:10:49Uhhh, no. OK, that's half-time.

0:10:49 > 0:10:53I'm going to have me a hot dog and tell you the rules.

0:10:53 > 0:10:58The handsprings must be consecutive. There must be no stopping.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01Only feet and hands can touch the ground.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04The record to beat is 36.

0:11:06 > 0:11:10Miners fans, are you guys ready to see a world record being broken?

0:11:10 > 0:11:13CROWD CHEERS

0:11:15 > 0:11:22Let's go UTEP! Let's go Jalyssa! Let's go!

0:11:27 > 0:11:30Jalyssa doesn't think the field is long enough,

0:11:30 > 0:11:32so she's starting from this blue matt

0:11:32 > 0:11:34for that little extra bit of length.

0:11:34 > 0:11:36That, my friends, is confidence!

0:11:38 > 0:11:39And she's off!

0:11:39 > 0:11:43Remember, the record to beat is 36 consecutive handsprings,

0:11:43 > 0:11:45but Jalyssa thinks she can do 50.

0:11:45 > 0:11:51Look at that precision. Every handspring looks exactly the same.

0:11:51 > 0:11:54Rhythm is vital and she seems to be in the groove.

0:11:54 > 0:11:57Think how dizzy she must be getting.

0:11:57 > 0:11:58Plus, this is super tiring.

0:12:00 > 0:12:02She's going so fast,

0:12:02 > 0:12:05official adjudicator Amanda is having to run with me to keep up.

0:12:08 > 0:12:12One slip and it's all over but Jalyssa is a machine.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16She's made it all the way to the end zone.

0:12:16 > 0:12:22Incredible! She's still going. That's the spirit, Jalyssa.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25And she's done. Wow.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28How can she even stand up?

0:12:28 > 0:12:30Her head must be spinning.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34- THEY CHANT:- Officially amazing! Officially amazing!

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Jalyssa, that was awesome. How are you feeling?

0:12:36 > 0:12:38Extremely tired.

0:12:38 > 0:12:40Can I hear some love for Jalyssa?

0:12:40 > 0:12:43CROWD CHEERS

0:12:43 > 0:12:45Well, we're pretty sure she's got a new record

0:12:45 > 0:12:47but we need the official result.

0:12:47 > 0:12:51Well, the number to beat was 36 back handsprings.

0:12:57 > 0:13:02And you achieved a total of 53, which is a new Guinness World Record!

0:13:02 > 0:13:04A new world record!

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Jalyssa has smashed the record into smithereens.

0:13:23 > 0:13:25Boom!

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Magnificent!

0:13:26 > 0:13:28Now, here's Haruka.

0:13:36 > 0:13:40On Officially Amazing, we've seen some odd records from Japan.

0:13:40 > 0:13:42We've seen a man run like a monkey.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44A man catching tennis balls with a boxing glove.

0:13:44 > 0:13:48And we've seen a man skip in a sewer. Eww!

0:13:49 > 0:13:52But today, we're leaving the world of the weird records behind

0:13:52 > 0:13:55and doing something a bit more traditional.

0:13:56 > 0:13:59You may think that paper folding is only about airplanes,

0:13:59 > 0:14:03but here in Japan you can pretty much make anything.

0:14:05 > 0:14:07Wow, Haruka! These are amazing.

0:14:07 > 0:14:13There's a flower, and a cat and... No idea what that one is, a house?

0:14:13 > 0:14:17Oi, I made that. It's a fish. Obviously.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21Yes, today, we've come to the National Origami Museum in Nagoya

0:14:21 > 0:14:23for an Officially Amazing record attempt

0:14:23 > 0:14:28and I want to find out more from origami grandmaster, Mr Kobyashi.

0:14:28 > 0:14:31He's been doing origami for 41 years

0:14:31 > 0:14:36and he reckons it's not only an art form but it's good for you, too.

0:14:36 > 0:14:41- TRANSLATION:- Doing origami keeps your brain fit.

0:14:41 > 0:14:45My dad's 91 and still as sharp as a tack,

0:14:45 > 0:14:48and he puts it all down to the benefits of origami,

0:14:48 > 0:14:50so we should all do it, you know?

0:14:50 > 0:14:53If that's not a great advert to take up origami then

0:14:53 > 0:14:56I don't know what is.

0:14:56 > 0:14:59But it's not Mr Kobyashi who's taking on the record today,

0:14:59 > 0:15:04instead it's a younger paper player, Yoneyama Yuichi.

0:15:04 > 0:15:08Yuichi holds the record for making an incredible 13 origami cranes,

0:15:08 > 0:15:12which are a type of bird, in just five minutes.

0:15:12 > 0:15:13Amazing!

0:15:13 > 0:15:15He has a condition called autism

0:15:15 > 0:15:19and making his paper cranes is one of his favourite things to do.

0:15:19 > 0:15:22Can he break his own Guinness World Record today?

0:15:24 > 0:15:27For this attempt, each crane must be made from a square of paper

0:15:27 > 0:15:30measuring 15cm x 15cm.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33The clock begins the moment Yuichi starts folding

0:15:33 > 0:15:36and he has fives minutes to make as many cranes as he can.

0:15:36 > 0:15:40Can he break his own Guinness World Record today?

0:15:41 > 0:15:46Remember, the clock won't start until Yuichi makes the first fold.

0:15:46 > 0:15:51He's making it look simple, but the crane takes 16 precise folds

0:15:51 > 0:15:54and it is an extremely intricate and tricky thing to do.

0:15:54 > 0:15:56His fingers have to work fast,

0:15:56 > 0:16:00but Yuichi has to be incredibly precise with every single fold

0:16:00 > 0:16:04and the first one is done in no time at all, but he's going to need to

0:16:04 > 0:16:09press on if he's to beat his own record of 13 cranes in five minutes.

0:16:09 > 0:16:13That's a whole crane around every 16 seconds.

0:16:13 > 0:16:17This takes extreme concentration, skill and accuracy

0:16:17 > 0:16:22and Yuichi is demonstrating all of these without even breaking a sweat.

0:16:22 > 0:16:23He's folding flipping fast,

0:16:23 > 0:16:26but has he been fast enough to break the record?

0:16:27 > 0:16:30And that's it, time's up.

0:16:30 > 0:16:36Nimble fingers, frantic folding, super skills - has he done enough?

0:16:36 > 0:16:40Well, he did make 13 cranes in total but official adjudicator Aya

0:16:40 > 0:16:44has disqualified three for not being identical enough.

0:16:44 > 0:16:48Still a great attempt. Well done, Yuichi.

0:16:48 > 0:16:50So he hasn't quite broken his own record

0:16:50 > 0:16:53but he is still officially amazing.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55Bye-bye from Japan.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59Now, from a peaceful record attempt to some of the noisiest.

0:19:04 > 0:19:08On Officially Amazing, we've scoured the globe to find three

0:19:08 > 0:19:12giants of international record breaking proportion.

0:19:12 > 0:19:16They're facing off against each other in a fierce battle with

0:19:16 > 0:19:19world records and national pride on the line as they take

0:19:19 > 0:19:22on challenges that you can try at home.

0:19:23 > 0:19:26Representing the UK, it's Sizzlin' Steve,

0:19:26 > 0:19:30a steadfast stick of record breaking British rock.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34- HARUKA:- And for Japan, it's the man who puts the...

0:19:34 > 0:19:35- ROAR - ..into...

0:19:35 > 0:19:40- WHIMPER - ..it's Mr Cherry.

0:19:40 > 0:19:44- AL:- And finally, he flips, he springs, he wears funny things.

0:19:44 > 0:19:49Representing the United States, it's US Ray!

0:19:49 > 0:19:53As things stand, Japan's Mr Cherry is in the lead with three victories.

0:19:53 > 0:19:59Sizzlin' Steve is on two, with US Ray lagging behind on one.

0:19:59 > 0:20:03And, impressively, they've already chalked up an astonishing

0:20:03 > 0:20:06five new Guinness World Records between them.

0:20:06 > 0:20:11Today's titanic tussle requires a steady hand, a keen eye

0:20:11 > 0:20:14and a pack of cards as they build a house of cards over three

0:20:14 > 0:20:17levels in the fastest time possible.

0:20:19 > 0:20:22I braved the hordes of adoring fans to bring you an exclusive

0:20:22 > 0:20:25interview from Steve's theatre of dreams.

0:20:25 > 0:20:29They're notoriously easy to fall over, a house of cards.

0:20:29 > 0:20:31Are you worried about that?

0:20:31 > 0:20:34- Not really.- No? Why? Why is that?

0:20:34 > 0:20:36Cos it's going to fall down at some point.

0:20:36 > 0:20:39Right. That's quite a philosophical way of looking at things.

0:20:39 > 0:20:43Hopefully not during the record attempt though?

0:20:43 > 0:20:44Hopefully not.

0:20:44 > 0:20:48And with that battle cry, it's time for the rules.

0:20:48 > 0:20:51For this record attempt, standard playing cards must be used

0:20:51 > 0:20:54and they cannot be bent or creased in any way.

0:20:54 > 0:20:56The house must be built in a pyramid shape

0:20:56 > 0:21:00and needs to stay up for at least 30 seconds.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03Stack! The world record time Steve's aiming to beat

0:21:03 > 0:21:06is 6.8 seconds, which is just about...

0:21:08 > 0:21:09..now - so it's no record,

0:21:09 > 0:21:11but there's still a competition to be won here.

0:21:11 > 0:21:15Can he stack all three levels quicker than Ray and Cherry?

0:21:15 > 0:21:18Nice, nice. You've got foundations, you've got a second level coming on.

0:21:18 > 0:21:21Not even my best chat can distract the Sizzler.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24Is there room for an extension if I want a conservatory?

0:21:24 > 0:21:26No.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28Oh. OK then. Thank you.

0:21:30 > 0:21:34Stop. And he's done. But will it hold?

0:21:34 > 0:21:37It is holding, but, at 30.18 seconds, Steve is

0:21:37 > 0:21:41nowhere near the record held by Silvio Sabba of Italy who could

0:21:41 > 0:21:45build five of these in the time it's taken Steve to make just one.

0:21:45 > 0:21:49However, this is a tricky challenge. It's now about beating his rivals.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51- Ray, are you ready to do it? - I'm ready.

0:21:51 > 0:21:54- Are you ready?- All right.

0:21:54 > 0:21:58Three, two, one, go.

0:21:58 > 0:22:01BEN: Remember, the record is 6.8 seconds...

0:22:03 > 0:22:04..which is now.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06Oh, so nowhere near the record either,

0:22:06 > 0:22:09but they can still beat Sizzlin' Steve's time.

0:22:14 > 0:22:16- AL:- Or maybe not.

0:22:16 > 0:22:20Things aren't going Ray's way but he's not a man to give up easily.

0:22:20 > 0:22:23- HARUKA:- Cherry seems to be doing a bit better.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26Actually, no, he's not.

0:22:26 > 0:22:27- AL:- That is a pyramid, Ray,

0:22:27 > 0:22:32but I'm not sure you'll be able to get three levels from it.

0:22:32 > 0:22:33Card-lamity!

0:22:35 > 0:22:37- HARUKA:- Cherry's getting there.

0:22:37 > 0:22:41Oh, no! So close but is it going to collapse?

0:22:45 > 0:22:48TRANSLATION: Oh, no, Japanese spirit.

0:22:48 > 0:22:52It collapsed like a... Well, like a house of cards.

0:22:52 > 0:22:55We could pretend to build up the tension for these results,

0:22:55 > 0:22:57but seeing as Steve was the only one to actually

0:22:57 > 0:23:00build his house of cards, that would be a bit pointless.

0:23:00 > 0:23:04US Ray huffed and puffed, but his house fell down.

0:23:04 > 0:23:08And it seems Mr Cherry had a few too many jokers in his pack.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11Well, Sizzler wins, and doesn't he look delighted?

0:23:11 > 0:23:15No new world record today, but he takes another win for the UK.

0:23:15 > 0:23:18That brings him level with Mr Cherry on three victories each,

0:23:18 > 0:23:22and US Ray has some catching up to do on one.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25The boys will be back to fight another day.

0:23:25 > 0:23:28For now, though, it's off to bonny Scotland for something...

0:23:36 > 0:23:40Hello and welcome to Edinburgh where I'll be tripping the light

0:23:40 > 0:23:42fantastic for a dance record.

0:23:43 > 0:23:45MUSIC HALL MUSIC

0:23:46 > 0:23:50Yes, I've been known as a bit of a mover and a groover in my time.

0:23:50 > 0:23:51And while I look the part,

0:23:51 > 0:23:55and certainly have the skills to pay the bills - oh, yeah -

0:23:55 > 0:23:57it takes two to tango.

0:23:59 > 0:24:02I think it's time to meet my dance partner. Roxy?

0:24:04 > 0:24:07Well, she clearly didn't get my e-mail about the dress code.

0:24:07 > 0:24:09Introducing Roxy Milliner,

0:24:09 > 0:24:13a former world trampolining champion, she's now a professional

0:24:13 > 0:24:17break-dancer and travels the globe showing off her amazing skills.

0:24:17 > 0:24:21Since she's more street than Strictly, I'd better ditch the tux.

0:24:21 > 0:24:25Roxy, I'll catch you outside... when you've finished showing off.

0:24:25 > 0:24:27Fierce!

0:24:27 > 0:24:29It looks really cool to watch.

0:24:29 > 0:24:30Is it the coolest dance form?

0:24:31 > 0:24:33Yes. Definitely.

0:24:33 > 0:24:35What's the most difficult trick that you can do?

0:24:35 > 0:24:37The head spins, they take the longest to learn,

0:24:37 > 0:24:39but now it's the easiest because I practise it a lot.

0:24:39 > 0:24:42Cos the head spin is everything to do with the record

0:24:42 > 0:24:44that you're going to be attempting today.

0:24:44 > 0:24:47- Yes.- Today, Roxy is after most head spins in a minute -

0:24:47 > 0:24:51the record for which is currently 91.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54Yup, you heard, 91!

0:24:54 > 0:24:57Whilst Roxy gets her head round this record attempt,

0:24:57 > 0:25:00why don't we check out the rules for most head spins in a minute.

0:25:00 > 0:25:03Wheee!

0:25:03 > 0:25:06Clearly, I'm not going to try it and you shouldn't either.

0:25:06 > 0:25:08Please leave head spinning to the professionals

0:25:08 > 0:25:10and look at the rules instead.

0:25:10 > 0:25:13A hat may be worn, but no additional head padding is allowed.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16Hands may be used to propel the challenger through the spin,

0:25:16 > 0:25:19but only head and hands can touch the ground.

0:25:19 > 0:25:23And each 360 degree rotation counts as one spin.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28Well, it's about record time.

0:25:28 > 0:25:31Crowd, are you ready to cheer her on?

0:25:31 > 0:25:34The crowd are ready, Roxy looks ready,

0:25:34 > 0:25:37her knuckles sound ready... CRACKING

0:25:37 > 0:25:40..now she just needs a regulation hat.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43That one will do just fine. Here we go.

0:25:43 > 0:25:45We begin as soon as Roxy starts spinning.

0:25:46 > 0:25:48And she's off.

0:25:48 > 0:25:51This one's all about speed and balance.

0:25:51 > 0:25:55She needs roughly three spins every two seconds to break the record.

0:25:57 > 0:26:01That's incredible. You can feel the wind.

0:26:01 > 0:26:0591 spins to beat, remember.

0:26:06 > 0:26:08And she's looking fast there.

0:26:08 > 0:26:1130 seconds, halfway point.

0:26:11 > 0:26:13Keep your head, Roxy.

0:26:13 > 0:26:15With each spin she gets dizzier,

0:26:15 > 0:26:18so balancing gets much, much harder.

0:26:18 > 0:26:20Ten seconds to go.

0:26:20 > 0:26:24Nine, eight, seven, six, five,

0:26:24 > 0:26:27four, three, two, one.

0:26:27 > 0:26:29Stop.

0:26:31 > 0:26:34Roxy, if you can, do you want to make your way over here?

0:26:34 > 0:26:35Do you want to take my hand?

0:26:35 > 0:26:38Do you need me to spin you the other way and put you right?

0:26:38 > 0:26:40I'm really dizzy.

0:26:40 > 0:26:42Keep our fingers crossed for this record.

0:26:45 > 0:26:50Official adjudicator Anna is carefully verifying every spin.

0:26:53 > 0:26:57Did Roxy get more than the 91 spins she needs?

0:26:58 > 0:27:01The results are in, and...

0:27:02 > 0:27:05..she did, with 101 spins!

0:27:09 > 0:27:13Officially amazing. Obviously.

0:27:13 > 0:27:17Incredible. Well, after all that, my head is spinning,

0:27:17 > 0:27:19so I'm off for a lie down.

0:27:19 > 0:27:22See you next time for more Officially Amazing record breaking.

0:27:23 > 0:27:25# Well, the cards were on the table

0:27:25 > 0:27:27# But only Steve was able

0:27:27 > 0:27:29# To build a house that didn't fall

0:27:29 > 0:27:31# And Cherry and Ray they should be ashamed

0:27:31 > 0:27:34# They couldn't build a house at all

0:27:34 > 0:27:35# Roxy put our heads in a spin

0:27:35 > 0:27:38# Veronica Torr used flippers to win

0:27:38 > 0:27:39# Yuichi tried his best

0:27:39 > 0:27:41# But the German cup stackers failed the test

0:27:46 > 0:27:50# It's all officially amazing. #
