0:00:34 > 0:00:36Today, we're in Northampton

0:00:36 > 0:00:41for a bounce-tastic synchronised record attempt, featuring these two.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44But first, here's what's coming up in the rest of today's show.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47Guys, they're just going to show some lovely clips now,

0:00:47 > 0:00:48so you can stop.

0:00:48 > 0:00:52Now that's officially amazing! Here's what we've got for you.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56Yes, coming up on today's ultimate penultimate show of the series,

0:00:56 > 0:00:58we have some marvellously mammoth

0:00:58 > 0:01:02Guinness World Records title attempts, including...

0:01:04 > 0:01:08With only two challenges left in Officially Competitive,

0:01:08 > 0:01:12is now really the right time for the guys to be cleaning our faces?

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Over in Italy, these three muscular men pull faces like this,

0:01:19 > 0:01:22during an unusual record attempt.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24But what is it?

0:01:26 > 0:01:28And, for the first time ever,

0:01:28 > 0:01:32Officially Amazing is hosting its own glittering award ceremony,

0:01:32 > 0:01:35to present a worthy record breaker with this -

0:01:35 > 0:01:38the prestigious Golden Shires award.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41- CRASH - Once I've fixed it!

0:01:41 > 0:01:46First, though, we bounce straight into record mode, with something...

0:01:48 > 0:01:50Aargh!

0:01:52 > 0:01:55Argh! Ooh, ah.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57Oh, no. Ow!

0:01:57 > 0:01:59CRASH

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Welcome to Northampton for a brand-new world record attempt,

0:02:02 > 0:02:06involving synchronised trampolining.

0:02:06 > 0:02:10It's exactly how it sounds - two people on a trampoline

0:02:10 > 0:02:14at exactly the same time, doing exactly the same tricks.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17Don't worry, they're much better than we are.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20Though, admittedly, that's not hard.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Meet top trampolinists Kat and Nathaniel.

0:02:26 > 0:02:27And when I say top,

0:02:27 > 0:02:32these two really have reached the dizzy heights of their sport.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36Nathaniel has won bronze at the Junior World Championships.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40And as for Kat, well, she's Britain's number one trampolinist,

0:02:40 > 0:02:44a former world number one, and she's an Olympian,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47having represented Britain at the 2012 games.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50And today, they're hoping to add a World Record

0:02:50 > 0:02:52to their trampoline trophies.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55These are two highly trained athletes,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58so please, don't try any of their moves

0:02:58 > 0:03:00if you've got a trampoline at home.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02Nathaniel, Kat, lovely to meet you.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04As someone who's mildly afraid of heights -

0:03:04 > 0:03:07and that's putting it lightly - you go really high, don't you?

0:03:07 > 0:03:10I mean, what kind of heights can you reach?

0:03:10 > 0:03:11They talk up to ten metres,

0:03:11 > 0:03:13two double-decker buses end on end, is kind of

0:03:13 > 0:03:16what the top of trampolining's doing, so it's fairly high.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19Do you ever sort of lose your nerve a little bit and think,

0:03:19 > 0:03:21"Ooh, crumbs, I'm really high"?

0:03:21 > 0:03:23It's tricky, cos if you do that when you're at that height,

0:03:23 > 0:03:25you'll, like, crumble and then you'll just fall.

0:03:25 > 0:03:29- Really?- If you think about it too much you just lose concentration,

0:03:29 > 0:03:32you mess up the routine, you have to start again, pretty much,

0:03:32 > 0:03:34which is the hardest thing.

0:03:34 > 0:03:36Well, that sounds terrifying!

0:03:36 > 0:03:38Today, Kat and Nathaniel are going for...

0:03:43 > 0:03:44..for a team of two.

0:03:44 > 0:03:48What part of your body does it wreak the most havoc on?

0:03:48 > 0:03:51- Your back's going to be the bit that takes the most amount of it.- Really?

0:03:51 > 0:03:53Yeah, cos it's such a force that you're coming in,

0:03:53 > 0:03:55we experience more G-force at the bottom of the trampoline

0:03:55 > 0:03:58than Formula One drivers and rollercoasters and stuff do.

0:03:58 > 0:03:59That's a fact, right there.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02- Look at that! More than a Formula One driver?- Yeah.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04Wow! Rather them than me.

0:04:04 > 0:04:06Here are the rules.

0:04:06 > 0:04:08Warm-up bounces are allowed.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11The time begins when the pair start their first

0:04:11 > 0:04:13backward somersault with full twist.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16The time limit is 60 seconds

0:04:16 > 0:04:19and the target has been set at 22 or more

0:04:19 > 0:04:21synchronised backward somersaults with a twist,

0:04:21 > 0:04:23to set this new record.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27A gymnastics professional must confirm the total number

0:04:27 > 0:04:29of valid somersaults within each attempt.

0:04:29 > 0:04:32So we have Tracy, a qualified gymnastics judge

0:04:32 > 0:04:35and head of Team Great Britain, here to help count

0:04:35 > 0:04:38and make sure all of the moves are valid.

0:04:38 > 0:04:41And this lot are keeping a close eye on the attempt, as well.

0:04:41 > 0:04:42Best of luck.

0:04:42 > 0:04:45Right, let's get this record attempt under way.

0:04:45 > 0:04:4722 or more the target.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51Remember, their 60 seconds only starts

0:04:51 > 0:04:53when they do their first somersault.

0:04:53 > 0:04:54Just building some height.

0:04:54 > 0:04:56- HORN BLASTS - And they're off!

0:04:59 > 0:05:02Three somersaults, then they compose themselves again

0:05:02 > 0:05:04with a rest bounce, to prevent dizziness

0:05:04 > 0:05:06getting the better of them.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08They look perfectly in sync.

0:05:08 > 0:05:10Going well.

0:05:10 > 0:05:1230 seconds left!

0:05:12 > 0:05:15But Nathaniel's dangerously close to the front of the trampoline

0:05:15 > 0:05:19and he's hit the mat! That's the end of the attempt.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22So tricky! Even though they seemed in sync,

0:05:22 > 0:05:26Nathaniel drifted forward and landed on the crash mat.

0:05:26 > 0:05:29What happened then? You just sort of lost a bit of balance?

0:05:29 > 0:05:32Yeah, I just got a bit dizzy and technique went out the window.

0:05:32 > 0:05:33Liz, how was that attempt?

0:05:33 > 0:05:36That was great. I mean, you still had 15 seconds left.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38I disqualified two, because they were a little bit too far

0:05:38 > 0:05:39out of synchronisation.

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Yeah, so that would've been 12 with 15 seconds left.

0:05:41 > 0:05:43So pretty good going.

0:05:44 > 0:05:48So, only 12 valid somersaults in 45 seconds.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50That's not record pace.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52They need 22, remember.

0:05:53 > 0:05:56Getting that all-important height and they're off!

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Their second attempt under way.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01This time, they've decided to go for five

0:06:01 > 0:06:05rather than three somersaults before each rest bounce. Good tactic!

0:06:10 > 0:06:13Ooh, but Nathaniel looks slightly ahead of Kat there.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16Will those two count?

0:06:16 > 0:06:19Just look how technically difficult this is. The height,

0:06:19 > 0:06:24the backward somersault, the twist, and they have to be in perfect sync.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27So hard to get everything right.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31They've done loads so far, but will they all be valid?

0:06:33 > 0:06:36Oh, Kat's taken her rest bounce early.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39That's thrown them out of sync and with ten seconds left,

0:06:39 > 0:06:41there's no chance of recovering.

0:06:41 > 0:06:43Attempt over.

0:06:43 > 0:06:45You can see Kat realise that Nathaniel is still

0:06:45 > 0:06:48in somersault mode while she's on the rest bounce.

0:06:48 > 0:06:52Such a shame, but have they done enough to break the record?

0:06:52 > 0:06:56The number of jumps that you did was actually 25.

0:06:56 > 0:07:00So, had they been in sync, we obviously would have had a record.

0:07:00 > 0:07:03I've spoken to Tracy and she believes that unfortunately

0:07:03 > 0:07:06six of them didn't count, which brings your total to 19.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08- So close to the record.- Ooh!

0:07:08 > 0:07:11Kat and Nathaniel have decided to give it one more go.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15So while they catch their breath and prepare, here's Al and Haruka

0:07:15 > 0:07:18with a record from Italy, in something...

0:07:23 > 0:07:24Ow!

0:07:25 > 0:07:27- Konnichiwa!- Hey, y'all!

0:07:27 > 0:07:29We're in Italy to see these three guys,

0:07:29 > 0:07:32who are almost as muscly as me.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34HARUKA GIGGLES

0:07:34 > 0:07:35I'll pretend I didn't hear that, Haruka.

0:07:35 > 0:07:39So, what unlikely world record are they about to attempt?

0:07:39 > 0:07:43Is it fastest time to carry a car 20 metres

0:07:43 > 0:07:44whilst strapped to the shoulders?

0:07:44 > 0:07:47Largest man to play Tiddlywinks?

0:07:47 > 0:07:51Or most muscular karaoke competition?

0:07:51 > 0:07:53And the answer is...

0:07:54 > 0:07:5820-metre car carry! This is going to be mind-blowing!

0:07:59 > 0:08:01Yeah. But first, let's have a look at the car.

0:08:01 > 0:08:04It's been specifically adapted to make it lighter,

0:08:04 > 0:08:07so no roof, seats or engine.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09Well, you say lighter, Haruka,

0:08:09 > 0:08:12but it still weighs 397kg.

0:08:12 > 0:08:15That's like carrying a small horse!

0:08:15 > 0:08:18And how often have you carried a small horse, Al?

0:08:18 > 0:08:21But, yes, OK, that is heavy.

0:08:21 > 0:08:24Up first is Latvia's Agris Kazelniks.

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Is he stuck in traffic there?

0:08:26 > 0:08:28No, he's good to go.

0:08:28 > 0:08:30Three, two, one, go!

0:08:30 > 0:08:35He's off! Burning rubber from the soles of his huge feet.

0:08:35 > 0:08:40Time stops as soon as the nose of the car crosses the line.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43He's done it! Incredible.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47Jarno Hams from the Netherlands is up next,

0:08:47 > 0:08:52- and he takes the strain. Ooh! - Three, two, one, go!

0:08:53 > 0:08:55And his journey begins!

0:08:55 > 0:08:57Mind-boggling power there,

0:08:57 > 0:08:59and some awesome facial expressions.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02I presume this is a low-emissions car.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04PFFFRRT Not any more! But, you know,

0:09:04 > 0:09:07when under pressure, release the pressure.

0:09:07 > 0:09:09It's the maxim by which I live.

0:09:09 > 0:09:11Nice.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13And he's over the 20-metre line.

0:09:13 > 0:09:18Our third and final driver today is Zydrunas Savickas from Lithuania.

0:09:18 > 0:09:21Brace yourselves for something special.

0:09:21 > 0:09:24Just like Zydrunas has!

0:09:24 > 0:09:28Green light! The other two looking on and breathing hard.

0:09:28 > 0:09:30He's going like a race car!

0:09:30 > 0:09:32Actually, I think the car's travelling faster

0:09:32 > 0:09:34than it did when it had a working engine.

0:09:36 > 0:09:38And with one final push, he's over the line.

0:09:40 > 0:09:42Fantastic!

0:09:42 > 0:09:45But who was fastest and have they got a record?

0:09:46 > 0:09:48Was it the big guy?

0:09:48 > 0:09:50Or the massive guy?

0:09:50 > 0:09:52Or the really large chap?

0:09:55 > 0:09:56And it's Zydrunas

0:09:56 > 0:10:00with a time of 14.44 seconds.

0:10:00 > 0:10:01So fast!

0:10:01 > 0:10:05And to make it even more special, the world's smallest woman,

0:10:05 > 0:10:09India's Jyoti Amge, is giving him his Guinness World Records medal.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12That is so officially amazing!

0:10:12 > 0:10:14Interestingly enough, Haruka,

0:10:14 > 0:10:18all three men are carrying a minibus home together.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20Somehow I don't believe you, Al.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23Anyway, time to return to Ben in the UK.

0:10:23 > 0:10:26Yes, welcome back to Northampton,

0:10:26 > 0:10:28where terrific trampolinists Kat and Nathaniel

0:10:28 > 0:10:31are attempting to get the Guinness World Records title for the...

0:10:36 > 0:10:39Tension is high. It's Kat and Nathaniel's final record attempt.

0:10:39 > 0:10:41- Guys, are you feeling confident? - BOTH: Yeah.

0:10:41 > 0:10:43Excellent! Are they going to do it this time?

0:10:43 > 0:10:45ALL: Yeah!

0:10:45 > 0:10:48Lovely stuff. Off you go, guys.

0:10:48 > 0:10:5122 somersaults the target.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Getting a good height to begin with

0:10:53 > 0:10:54and off they go, in perfect sync.

0:10:54 > 0:10:56STARTER HORN

0:11:00 > 0:11:03There are so many things to get right.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07They're using every ounce of energy they've got.

0:11:07 > 0:11:11They're sticking with the rest bounce after five somersaults.

0:11:11 > 0:11:12It's vital they get these right

0:11:12 > 0:11:15to prevent themselves getting too dizzy.

0:11:15 > 0:11:18They're timing was off in their earlier attempt,

0:11:18 > 0:11:19but that was lovely!

0:11:19 > 0:11:21Straight back into the identical flips.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24That's 15 in 30 seconds.

0:11:24 > 0:11:28They're on course to get 22 or more in the 60-second time limit,

0:11:28 > 0:11:30IF all the somersaults are valid.

0:11:30 > 0:11:33They're bouncing so high!

0:11:33 > 0:11:36Those backward twists must be making them really dizzy.

0:11:36 > 0:11:39Oh, no! Nathaniel's a bit far forward there.

0:11:39 > 0:11:4315 seconds left and they've slipped out of rhythm.

0:11:43 > 0:11:44Is there time to recover?

0:11:45 > 0:11:47Last few seconds.

0:11:47 > 0:11:51ALL: Three, two, one...

0:11:51 > 0:11:53Stop! Whoo!

0:11:53 > 0:11:56'These two are incredible!

0:11:56 > 0:11:58'What an effort!

0:11:58 > 0:12:01'But have they done enough valid somersaults to set the record?

0:12:01 > 0:12:04'Remember, they needed at least 22.'

0:12:04 > 0:12:07Today, with a disqualification of four,

0:12:07 > 0:12:09you have achieved...

0:12:12 > 0:12:1426! It's a new Guinness World Record!

0:12:14 > 0:12:15'Fantastic!'

0:12:15 > 0:12:17CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Well, look at that!

0:12:19 > 0:12:22Terrific tumbling from our trampolining twosome.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24That'll put a spring in their step!

0:12:24 > 0:12:26Officially amazing!

0:12:26 > 0:12:29'From two legends that appear as light as a feather

0:12:29 > 0:12:31'to some of the heaviest record breakers now.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34'That's right, it's karaoke time!'

0:14:45 > 0:14:47Ah, aah, aaah!

0:14:47 > 0:14:48Argh!

0:14:48 > 0:14:50Whoohoo!

0:15:19 > 0:15:22Officially Amazing just wouldn't be able to take place.

0:15:22 > 0:15:23That's right, Ben.

0:15:23 > 0:15:26It's the award for the best record involving an animal.

0:15:26 > 0:15:30Yes, from sensational skateboarding goats

0:15:33 > 0:15:34Num, num, num, num, num, num, num, num!

0:15:34 > 0:15:36Num. BURP

0:15:36 > 0:15:37..to nefariously naughty animals

0:15:37 > 0:15:39eating my sandwiches

0:15:39 > 0:15:41and shooting peas at me!

0:15:41 > 0:15:42Oi!

0:15:42 > 0:15:45We've seen many officially amazing animals on the show,

0:20:41 > 0:20:43of this magnificent melee.

0:20:43 > 0:20:46But the Sizzler, well, he can't win.

0:20:46 > 0:20:47But he's still playing for pride

0:20:50 > 0:20:51to make sure he isn't last.

0:20:51 > 0:20:55AND he really needs to stop doing that dance.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Also, Ray and Cherry have gained Guinness World Records titles

0:20:58 > 0:21:00along the way.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02Without success so far this series,

0:21:02 > 0:21:05Steve is going to be doggedly determined today.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08But what IS the mystery record attempt

0:21:08 > 0:21:10that you can try at home?

0:21:10 > 0:21:12So, we've got,

0:21:12 > 0:21:13er, buckets

0:21:13 > 0:21:17with sponges and with water.

0:21:17 > 0:21:20This is not good.

0:21:20 > 0:21:21All right, let's find out.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24- OK.- Please, let us be washing something.

0:21:27 > 0:21:28Ah, man.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30'Oh, man!

0:21:30 > 0:21:33'Before we faced the sponges, Haruka, Ben and I took part

0:21:33 > 0:21:35'in a challenge to decide the order in which

0:21:35 > 0:21:39'our competitors would compete in this squelchy record attempt.'

0:21:39 > 0:21:41And this time the challenge was called...

0:21:42 > 0:21:45Yes, this one called for brilliant brain power.

0:21:45 > 0:21:48There were ten dice hidden underneath a lid on the table.

0:21:48 > 0:21:52Once the lid was lifted, we had to add all the numbers facing up

0:21:52 > 0:21:54on the dice together, as fast as we could.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56Whoever was quickest, won.

0:21:56 > 0:21:58Have a quick look. Can you do it?

0:22:01 > 0:22:03Well, the answer was 33.

0:22:03 > 0:22:06Did we get it right?

0:22:06 > 0:22:0733.

0:22:07 > 0:22:0833.

0:22:08 > 0:22:1032.

0:22:10 > 0:22:11Unlucky, Haruka!

0:22:11 > 0:22:13See, Cherry knows.

0:22:13 > 0:22:14But who was quickest?

0:22:14 > 0:22:16Yes, it was me!

0:22:16 > 0:22:18With a time of 11 seconds,

0:22:18 > 0:22:21compared to Al's leisurely 14, I won.

0:22:21 > 0:22:24So, Steve chose to go last in the record attempt

0:22:24 > 0:22:27and hopefully pick up some tips from watching Cherry and Ray's

0:22:27 > 0:22:30sponge-throwing technique.

0:22:30 > 0:22:33OK, I suppose we should check out the rules for

0:22:33 > 0:22:36Most Wet Sponges Thrown In 30 Seconds.

0:22:36 > 0:22:39Thrower and receiver must be three metres apart,

0:22:39 > 0:22:42with lines on the ground to mark the distance.

0:22:42 > 0:22:46And each sponge must be fully immersed in water before throwing.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48Great!

0:22:48 > 0:22:52Only sponges which hit the target fully in the face will be counted.

0:22:52 > 0:22:53Perfect!

0:22:53 > 0:22:56If either participant steps over the three-metre marker line,

0:22:56 > 0:22:58the attempt is stopped.

0:22:58 > 0:23:01But valid throws up until that point still count.

0:23:01 > 0:23:03And the target for this new record

0:23:03 > 0:23:05is 18 or more sponges

0:23:05 > 0:23:07thrown in the face.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09Since Haruka lost the dice-count challenge,

0:23:09 > 0:23:11she and Cherry are going first.

0:23:11 > 0:23:14Haruka's wearing a mac for protection,

0:23:14 > 0:23:15but Cherry won't let that stop him.

0:23:15 > 0:23:17- GONG BELLOWS - I'm ready!

0:23:17 > 0:23:19- Japan!- Hi!

0:23:19 > 0:23:21And they're off!

0:23:21 > 0:23:22But so is Cherry's aim!

0:23:22 > 0:23:25He's not got one in Haruka's face yet!

0:23:25 > 0:23:26Haruka's doing her best,

0:23:26 > 0:23:29but she's not eight feet tall, Cherry!

0:23:29 > 0:23:31Oh, but there's one!

0:23:33 > 0:23:35A fine, firm face-sploshing there!

0:23:35 > 0:23:38And another! And a third!

0:23:38 > 0:23:40Go, Cherry!

0:23:40 > 0:23:42He's favouring speed over accuracy.

0:23:42 > 0:23:45He's going so fast, even our cameraman can't keep up!

0:23:45 > 0:23:47Go on!

0:23:47 > 0:23:50- HARUKA YELPS - Get her!

0:23:50 > 0:23:53'Ooh, now he's run out of sponges.'

0:23:53 > 0:23:55Ahh! Ah, sponges!

0:23:55 > 0:23:57'Time for one more.'

0:24:00 > 0:24:01'Poor Haruka!'

0:24:05 > 0:24:06Stop!

0:24:06 > 0:24:08- APPLAUSE - Never mind poor me.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17- 'Team USA is up next.' - OK, three, two, one, go!

0:24:17 > 0:24:1918, the target.

0:24:19 > 0:24:20And Ray's straight in with a hit!

0:24:20 > 0:24:22And another!

0:24:22 > 0:24:23Three hits!

0:24:24 > 0:24:26Don't cover your face, Al,

0:24:26 > 0:24:28Ray's got to hit it!

0:24:28 > 0:24:31Either Ray's aim is brilliant or, more likely,

0:24:31 > 0:24:32Al's got a big head.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34DRAMATIC MUSIC

0:24:37 > 0:24:39AL ROARS

0:24:41 > 0:24:43- Go, go, go! - LAUGHTER

0:24:43 > 0:24:45You can't even see!

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Come on, open those eyes!

0:24:47 > 0:24:49'A very good attempt. Well done, boys.'

0:24:49 > 0:24:51USA! USA!

0:24:51 > 0:24:53'Yeah, all right, Al, calm down!

0:24:53 > 0:24:57'Although your salmon-like leaping was pretty impressive.

0:24:57 > 0:25:02'But now it's time for the Team Sizzle Shires sponge spectacular.

0:25:02 > 0:25:05'Talking of which, I've had to take my spectaculars off.

0:25:05 > 0:25:08'18, the target. Not a problem!'

0:25:08 > 0:25:09Team UK, are you ready?

0:25:18 > 0:25:23Still, my superbly long face is giving Steve a terrific target.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25Sizzler's smashing through the sponges

0:25:25 > 0:25:28and I'm doing some remarkable nutting.

0:25:35 > 0:25:38This is super-speedy sponge soaking.

0:25:38 > 0:25:41The special sponge collectors are struggling to keep up.

0:25:47 > 0:25:49KLAXON But Ben stepped over the line.

0:25:49 > 0:25:52Ha! Game over!

0:25:52 > 0:25:54He had eight seconds left,

0:25:54 > 0:25:56but that's ended their attempt.

0:25:56 > 0:25:59Steve's throws up until that point will still count,

0:25:59 > 0:26:02but has Ben blown it for the Sizzler?

0:26:02 > 0:26:04Stepped over the line. I was doing so well.
