0:01:29 > 0:01:32without a hullabaloo disturbing him?
0:01:32 > 0:01:34It's seagulls, Salty.
0:01:34 > 0:01:36Did they wake you up as well?
0:01:36 > 0:01:41Excuse me, Salty would like you to keep the noise down, please!
0:01:41 > 0:01:44Oh, dear! Huh! Do you know what?
0:01:44 > 0:01:48I remember a day when Bertrum the Butterfish
0:01:48 > 0:01:51got woken up by a terrible noise, too.
0:01:51 > 0:01:55Oh-ho-ho-ho! And he wasn't the only one. Hee-hee-ha-ha!
0:01:55 > 0:01:58It all happened when I was a boy,
0:01:58 > 0:02:02in a twinkly time long, long ago.
0:02:02 > 0:02:08Huh-huh! I used to run down to the beach as often as I could.
0:02:08 > 0:02:13Meeting up with my best friends, Little Ernie and Little Sailor Sue.
0:02:19 > 0:02:22Sometimes we'd get an ice cream cone.
0:02:22 > 0:02:25- Let's take these to the beach. - Good idea.
0:02:25 > 0:02:28Yes, I tell you, Salty, it was always delicious.
0:02:28 > 0:02:31Fee-fi-fo-fum!
0:02:31 > 0:02:34But I remember one day eating our ice creams
0:02:34 > 0:02:38and playing Follow My Leader across the beach.
0:02:38 > 0:02:44I pretended to be a giant and then Little Ernie was doing dance moves.
0:02:44 > 0:02:48- And turn!- So Sue and I did our best to copy him.
0:02:48 > 0:02:53But suddenly, I noticed a seagull following, too.
0:02:53 > 0:02:56A very noisy seagull.
0:02:56 > 0:02:59And it seemed to be after my ice cream.
0:02:59 > 0:03:01It wouldn't leave me alone!
0:03:01 > 0:03:05So I ran off to our favourite rockpool
0:03:05 > 0:03:08with Sue and Ernie by my side.
0:03:08 > 0:03:10Let's stay here for a bit.
0:03:10 > 0:03:16And as we gazed deep down into the glittery, green water,
0:03:16 > 0:03:19a magical world appeared before our eyes.
0:03:22 > 0:03:26On this particular day, Sheena the Shrimp woke up early,
0:03:26 > 0:03:30ready to do her early-morning musical shake-up.
0:03:30 > 0:03:33She swam over to her musical rock
0:03:33 > 0:03:37and she pressed its nose eagerly, but...
0:03:37 > 0:03:38Oh, dear!
0:03:38 > 0:03:40RUMBLING
0:03:42 > 0:03:44A horrible sound came out,
0:03:44 > 0:03:49which made her leap backwards across the seabed in surprise.
0:03:49 > 0:03:55It sounded like lots of enormous glubbery tummy rumbles.
0:03:55 > 0:03:59"What's that noise?" asked Sidney the Snail,
0:03:59 > 0:04:03poking his head out of his shell rather nervously.
0:04:03 > 0:04:07"It's my musical rock. I can't seem to get it to work properly,"
0:04:07 > 0:04:11said Sheena, frantically trying to turn it off with her antenna.
0:04:11 > 0:04:15"Oh, dear, dear, dear, it's much too early for this,"
0:04:15 > 0:04:17said Bertrum the Butterfish.
0:04:17 > 0:04:19He was still wearing his sleeping cap.
0:04:19 > 0:04:22"I haven't even had my breakfast yet," he grumbled.
0:04:22 > 0:04:25Well, soon, everyone was awake
0:04:25 > 0:04:28and wanting the horrible noise to stop.
0:04:28 > 0:04:31"I'm having terrible rock trouble.
0:04:31 > 0:04:36"My musical rock just isn't working properly," Sheena said.
0:04:36 > 0:04:38"Sorry to wake you all."
0:04:38 > 0:04:45Sheena was sad because her musical rock was very special to her
0:04:45 > 0:04:47and she didn't want it to be broken.
0:04:47 > 0:04:48"When something goes wrong,
0:04:48 > 0:04:52"there's only one thing to do," said Belinda the Blenny.
0:04:52 > 0:04:54"Throw it away?" Andrew guessed.
0:04:54 > 0:04:56"Absolutely not," said Belinda.
0:04:56 > 0:04:59"Turn it upside down?" Sally suggested.
0:04:59 > 0:05:03"Absolutely not," said Belinda. "We try to fix it."
0:05:03 > 0:05:08But just then, the back came off the musical rock
0:05:08 > 0:05:12and Belinda let out a rather loud shriek.
0:05:12 > 0:05:14"Argh! Oh!"
0:05:14 > 0:05:19For what did she see inside, but a very spiky-looking creature
0:05:19 > 0:05:22staring back at her.
0:05:22 > 0:05:25"Hello! Great to see you!" Said the spiky thing,
0:05:25 > 0:05:28bouncing out of the back of the musical rock.
0:05:28 > 0:05:33"I'm Finn the Urchin. Do you know where I am, by any chance?"
0:05:33 > 0:05:36"This is Staithes," said Sheena.
0:05:36 > 0:05:41"Oh, dear! Oh! I was headed for my favourite spot in Whitby Harbour.
0:05:41 > 0:05:46"I must've taken a wrong turn. Ha-ha-ha-ha!" Said Finn, chuckling.
0:05:46 > 0:05:49"You must have taken a lot of wrong turns," said Belinda.
0:05:49 > 0:05:52"Well, I got washed away on the waves, you see,"
0:05:52 > 0:05:54said Finn, bouncing about.
0:05:54 > 0:05:58"I was buffeted and bounced this way and that by the high tide.
0:05:58 > 0:06:00"Then I ended up in this rockpool,
0:06:00 > 0:06:05"so I snuggled up inside this interesting rock. Ha-ha-ha-ha!
0:06:05 > 0:06:07"And I fell asleep."
0:06:07 > 0:06:11"Well, I'm so glad you had a good rest," giggled Sheena.
0:06:11 > 0:06:16"This is actually a musical rock, you know," she told the visitor.
0:06:16 > 0:06:19"Never!" Said the visitor, amazed.
0:06:19 > 0:06:22"Yes, really," said Sheena, laughing.
0:06:22 > 0:06:24"I thought it was broken,
0:06:24 > 0:06:28"but maybe it just sounded funny because you were inside it."
0:06:28 > 0:06:32"Well, I'm sure it'll be better now," said Belinda,
0:06:32 > 0:06:34putting the rock back together again.
0:06:34 > 0:06:39Sheena pressed the rock and suddenly,
0:06:39 > 0:06:43some very jiggly swing music came blaring out.
0:06:43 > 0:06:47"Ah! Ooo! I love that!" Said Finn, jumping up and down.
0:06:47 > 0:06:51"I'm a mean mover, me! Whoo!" And everybody cheered.
0:06:51 > 0:06:55"My musical rock's working again," cried Sheena.
0:06:55 > 0:06:59"Let's all do my musical morning shake-up together."
0:06:59 > 0:07:03All the creatures joined in, even Bertrum.
0:07:03 > 0:07:06You have never seen so many fanning tails
0:07:06 > 0:07:10and flicking fins and snapping claws. Huh!
0:07:10 > 0:07:15Finn the Urchin threw his whole body into the dance.
0:07:15 > 0:07:19"If you shake any harder, your spikes will fall off,"
0:07:19 > 0:07:20giggled Sheena.
0:07:20 > 0:07:25After quite a lot of shaking up, Finn said, "Oh, that's it!
0:07:25 > 0:07:29"I feel wide awake now, ready for my journey back home."
0:07:29 > 0:07:34"But how are you going to get back to Whitby?" Sheena asked.
0:07:34 > 0:07:37Buster the Crab had an idea.
0:07:37 > 0:07:40"Come with me," he said.
0:07:40 > 0:07:42And he took Finn to the rock
0:07:42 > 0:07:46where Reginald the Great Wise Limpet sat, watching the world.
0:07:46 > 0:07:50"Hello, Reginald," said Buster, waving a claw.
0:07:50 > 0:07:55"This little lad would like to get home to Whitby. Can you help?"
0:07:55 > 0:07:57Reginald blinked.
0:07:57 > 0:08:00"It's quite a long way,
0:08:00 > 0:08:04"but I have an old friend who might be able to help."
0:08:04 > 0:08:08Then he let out a very loud and long whistle.
0:08:08 > 0:08:10OLD JACK WHISTLES
0:08:13 > 0:08:16Almost immediately, "Whoosh!"
0:08:16 > 0:08:21The air was filled with the sound of a huge spray of water,
0:08:21 > 0:08:24as out to sea, an enormous blue creature
0:08:24 > 0:08:28with a friendly face appeared.
0:08:28 > 0:08:32"It's a whale!" cried Finn. "Unbelievable!"
0:08:32 > 0:08:34WOOF!
0:08:34 > 0:08:39Yes, I know, Salty. Yes, our old friend, Bluey the Whale.
0:08:39 > 0:08:42"Lovely to see you, Bluey," called Buster.
0:08:42 > 0:08:47And then, he explained that Finn needed to get home to Whitby.
0:08:47 > 0:08:52"Jump on and I'll give you a ride," boomed Bluey.
0:08:52 > 0:08:56And he dived under the water, making a wave
0:08:56 > 0:08:58that washed Finn out to sea.
0:08:58 > 0:09:01And then he let out a spout of water
0:09:01 > 0:09:04that shot Finn up into the air.
0:09:04 > 0:09:08Well, Finn was so excited, he shrieked with joy.
0:09:08 > 0:09:11"Oh, I love that! Hee-hee-hee!" He chortled,
0:09:11 > 0:09:13bouncing up and down on the water.
0:09:13 > 0:09:16"Goodbye, Reginald! Bye, Buster!
0:09:16 > 0:09:19"Ha! Thanks for everything!" He called.
0:09:19 > 0:09:22And then he headed back to Whitby,
0:09:22 > 0:09:26bouncing on the top of Bluey's fountain of spray.
0:09:26 > 0:09:30Back in the rockpool, Sheena and her friends
0:09:30 > 0:09:34played her musical rock for the rest of the day.
0:09:34 > 0:09:38And it worked perfectly! Hooray!
0:09:40 > 0:09:42When we looked up from the rockpool,
0:09:42 > 0:09:49it seemed as if the seagull that was following me had disappeared.
0:09:49 > 0:09:52So we started playing Follow My Leader again.
0:09:52 > 0:09:56Sailor Sue was a fire-breathing dragon,
0:09:56 > 0:09:59and we copied her.
0:09:59 > 0:10:03And then I looked over and saw the noisy seagull again.
0:10:03 > 0:10:05It was a baby! Ha-ha!
0:10:05 > 0:10:09And now it was with its mother, being fed.
0:10:09 > 0:10:14- No wonder it had been chasing after me!- It must have been hungry.
0:10:14 > 0:10:16I felt sorry for being cross with it.
0:10:16 > 0:10:19Let's be seagulls now. I'll be the leader.
0:10:19 > 0:10:23And we flapped our wings and we called. Ha-ha!
0:10:23 > 0:10:28And we played Follow My Leader for the rest of the day.
0:10:29 > 0:10:32Until the tide came in,
0:10:32 > 0:10:36and covered the rockpool like a great seaweedy blanket.
0:10:42 > 0:10:47Oh! Seagulls! The seaside wouldn't be the same without them, would it?
0:10:47 > 0:10:49WOOF!
0:10:49 > 0:10:54I don't mind sharing the Rainbow with them. Do you, Salty? eh?
0:10:54 > 0:10:56Good girl!
0:10:56 > 0:11:01Oh, you come back soon for some more Rockpool Tales.
