0:00:36 > 0:00:38# Over the cobbles and through the streets
0:00:38 > 0:00:41# Playing in the sun
0:00:41 > 0:00:43# Friends to meet with games and treats
0:00:43 > 0:00:45# Adventures just begun
0:00:45 > 0:00:50# Stories from a magical world Washed in by the sea
0:00:50 > 0:00:55# Meet the rockpool creatures there It's amazing what you see
0:00:55 > 0:00:59# Looking back when I was a boy
0:00:59 > 0:01:02# Shrimps and starfish Crabs and snails
0:01:02 > 0:01:04# In twinkly Rockpool Tales... #
0:01:04 > 0:01:06Ha-ha!
0:01:06 > 0:01:09# Those lovely Rockpool Tales. #
0:01:13 > 0:01:14Oh, hello.
0:01:14 > 0:01:17I'm just dusting off the old record player
0:01:17 > 0:01:21so that Salty and I can have a bit of a singsong.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23It's lovely, isn't it? Eh?
0:01:23 > 0:01:26It is a bit crackly, but, anyway...
0:01:26 > 0:01:27here we go.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32MUSIC PLAYS
0:01:32 > 0:01:35Yeah, go on, Salty, you sing along if you want.
0:01:36 > 0:01:38Do you know what?
0:01:40 > 0:01:43This reminds me of a time, years ago,
0:01:43 > 0:01:47when we had this record player on the beach.
0:01:47 > 0:01:48Yes.
0:01:48 > 0:01:51It all happened when I was a boy,
0:01:51 > 0:01:54in a twinkly time, long, long ago.
0:01:57 > 0:02:00I used to run down to the beach as often as I could,
0:02:00 > 0:02:03meeting up with my best friends, Little Ernie
0:02:03 > 0:02:06and Little Sailor Sue.
0:02:12 > 0:02:15# I'm looking on the bright side... #
0:02:15 > 0:02:18You're going to do left foot forward, right foot...
0:02:18 > 0:02:22One day, Little Ernie was trying to teach Little Sailor Sue
0:02:22 > 0:02:24and me a dance routine.
0:02:24 > 0:02:28Sue picked up the steps quite quickly, but I kept getting muddled.
0:02:28 > 0:02:30I don't get it.
0:02:30 > 0:02:31It's easy - look.
0:02:31 > 0:02:34I tried and tried, but my feet didn't seem to do
0:02:34 > 0:02:36what I wanted them to.
0:02:36 > 0:02:41So I suggested that we play by the rockpools instead.
0:02:41 > 0:02:44So off we ran and, as we settled down and gazed deep
0:02:44 > 0:02:46into the glittery waters,
0:02:46 > 0:02:49a magical world appeared before our eyes.
0:02:58 > 0:03:01On this particular day in the rockpool,
0:03:01 > 0:03:06everyone was very excited because there was going to be a dance party.
0:03:06 > 0:03:09And you can't have a dance party without music.
0:03:09 > 0:03:13So Sheena the Shrimp had set up her musical rock.
0:03:14 > 0:03:18Andrew the Anemone was jigging about in the seaweed,
0:03:18 > 0:03:20practising his moves.
0:03:20 > 0:03:24"I'm very excited about the dance. Are you?"
0:03:24 > 0:03:27he asked his friend, Sally the Starfish.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29But before Sally could answer
0:03:29 > 0:03:31they had a bit of a shock because
0:03:31 > 0:03:34out of the thick, seaweedy fronds
0:03:34 > 0:03:38floated an extremely enchanting creature.
0:03:40 > 0:03:45"Hello. I'm Luna, and I am a jellyfish,"
0:03:45 > 0:03:48she said in a silky voice.
0:03:48 > 0:03:49SALTY WHINES
0:03:49 > 0:03:51Yes. It's all right, Salty.
0:03:51 > 0:03:52Don't worry.
0:03:52 > 0:03:55Yes, I'll explain.
0:03:55 > 0:04:01Salty wants you to know that jellyfish are beautiful creatures,
0:04:01 > 0:04:04but they can sometimes sting.
0:04:04 > 0:04:07So if you meet one on your seashore adventures,
0:04:07 > 0:04:09it is best not to touch it.
0:04:09 > 0:04:11Right? Yeah.
0:04:11 > 0:04:15"Jellyfish?" cried Sheena. "Don't they sting?"
0:04:15 > 0:04:18And, lickety-split quick, they all hid.
0:04:18 > 0:04:20"Come back, everybody.
0:04:20 > 0:04:25"I promise I won't sting you," said Luna.
0:04:25 > 0:04:26So they crept back out.
0:04:26 > 0:04:29A little shy at first, but very keen
0:04:29 > 0:04:32to meet this interesting visitor.
0:04:32 > 0:04:35Luna the Jellyfish looked like
0:04:35 > 0:04:38a magical, floaty umbrella.
0:04:38 > 0:04:42"Hello, there. Nice to meet you.
0:04:42 > 0:04:46"I must have been washed into your rockpool on the last tide.
0:04:46 > 0:04:49"I'll have to wait here until the next tide comes in.
0:04:49 > 0:04:51"I hope you don't mind."
0:04:52 > 0:04:56"Oh, no, we don't mind," said Belinda the Blenny.
0:04:56 > 0:04:59"We are going to have a dance party.
0:04:59 > 0:05:02"You can join us if you like," said Sheena.
0:05:02 > 0:05:05"I'd love to," said Luna,
0:05:05 > 0:05:07gliding this way and that.
0:05:07 > 0:05:10"I am a dance teacher, you know.
0:05:10 > 0:05:13"My style is very modern and free.
0:05:13 > 0:05:17"I like to feel the pulse and the flow,
0:05:17 > 0:05:19"everywhere I go."
0:05:20 > 0:05:24"You're a lovely mover," said Bertrum the Butterfish.
0:05:24 > 0:05:27"Can you teach us to dance the way you do?"
0:05:27 > 0:05:30"There's no need to dance my way," said Luna.
0:05:30 > 0:05:33"We all have our own way of dancing,
0:05:33 > 0:05:36"and that's just as it should be.
0:05:36 > 0:05:39"I'll show you what I mean."
0:05:40 > 0:05:45Well, the friends spread out on the rockpool's sandy floor.
0:05:45 > 0:05:47Buster the Crab made sure
0:05:47 > 0:05:51he had enough room to wave his claws about.
0:05:52 > 0:05:54"Now, relax, everybody.
0:05:54 > 0:05:55"Loosen up.
0:05:55 > 0:06:00"Feel the energy flow all around you," said Luna.
0:06:01 > 0:06:03"Stretch out those arms
0:06:03 > 0:06:05"and be the star that you are,"
0:06:05 > 0:06:08she told Sally the Starfish.
0:06:08 > 0:06:11"Wiggle your nose and wiggle your tail,
0:06:11 > 0:06:15"And wiggle in the middle," she told Belinda.
0:06:15 > 0:06:18"I like to sway," said Bertrum, grinning.
0:06:20 > 0:06:25"Sway, sway, if that's your way," Luna told him.
0:06:25 > 0:06:28And, then, she floated over to Sidney the Snail,
0:06:28 > 0:06:31who was finding it a bit tricky
0:06:31 > 0:06:33to move beneath his shell.
0:06:34 > 0:06:39"Pretend your shell's as light as a feather," she told him.
0:06:39 > 0:06:42Well, Sidney relaxed.
0:06:42 > 0:06:44And suddenly, his shell,
0:06:44 > 0:06:47it was spinning with ease!
0:06:47 > 0:06:50"Wowee! Look at me," he giggled.
0:06:52 > 0:06:54Soon, all of the creatures
0:06:54 > 0:06:56were having fun dancing.
0:06:59 > 0:07:03"You may all rest now," said Luna.
0:07:04 > 0:07:06"Thank you," said Belinda.
0:07:06 > 0:07:08"Oh, I loved that."
0:07:08 > 0:07:12And all the other rockpoolers agreed.
0:07:12 > 0:07:15"It's nearly time for our dance party," said Sheena.
0:07:15 > 0:07:18"Come with me, Luna, and I'll find you something
0:07:18 > 0:07:20"sparkly and shiny to wear."
0:07:20 > 0:07:24Well, all the creatures were ready for the dance,
0:07:24 > 0:07:28looking very shiny and sparkly in their party outfits.
0:07:28 > 0:07:34Andrew was wearing his best sparkly glasses, and a tie to match.
0:07:34 > 0:07:38They had all dressed up - all except Luna, that is.
0:07:38 > 0:07:43"Didn't you want to wear something shiny, Luna?" Belinda asked.
0:07:43 > 0:07:44"Oh, there is no need.
0:07:44 > 0:07:49"I can make myself shiny later," she replied, grinning.
0:07:49 > 0:07:53"Right. Right, it's time to start," said Sheena, eagerly.
0:07:53 > 0:07:55"I'll get the music going."
0:07:55 > 0:07:59Some boppy, hobby, shake it, shake it dance music
0:07:59 > 0:08:02came bursting out of the musical rock.
0:08:02 > 0:08:04"Let's dance!" she cried.
0:08:05 > 0:08:07And you never did see
0:08:07 > 0:08:11such a mixture of moving tentacles,
0:08:11 > 0:08:13fins, tails and shells.
0:08:13 > 0:08:16"This is almost perfect!" cried Sheena.
0:08:16 > 0:08:20"I just wish we had some pretty party lights."
0:08:20 > 0:08:22"I can help," said Luna,
0:08:22 > 0:08:27drifting and wafting about in her elegant way.
0:08:27 > 0:08:31And then, something amazing happened.
0:08:31 > 0:08:34she suddenly started to glow
0:08:34 > 0:08:38like a fabulous, floating moon.
0:08:38 > 0:08:41And she lit up everything around her.
0:08:41 > 0:08:46"I am bioluminescent, you know," she said.
0:08:46 > 0:08:50Now, bioluminescent, it's a big word,
0:08:50 > 0:08:55but it just means that she can light up and glow.
0:08:55 > 0:08:57"See?" said Luna.
0:08:57 > 0:09:00"I am very useful to have around
0:09:00 > 0:09:02"when you need party lights."
0:09:02 > 0:09:05Ha! And everyone laughed.
0:09:05 > 0:09:07The rockpoolers loved the way
0:09:07 > 0:09:09that Luna could glow.
0:09:09 > 0:09:13"I like to pulse, I like to flow,
0:09:13 > 0:09:16"but most of all, I like to glow,"
0:09:16 > 0:09:19said Luna over the dance music.
0:09:19 > 0:09:24And the rockpool creatures danced and danced together
0:09:24 > 0:09:26in their shiny outfits
0:09:26 > 0:09:28with their elegant friend.
0:09:28 > 0:09:29One more time!
0:09:30 > 0:09:33When we looked up from the rockpool,
0:09:33 > 0:09:38Ernie started to do his fancy soft-shoe shuffle again.
0:09:40 > 0:09:41Sue whispered to me...
0:09:41 > 0:09:45Don't worry, Jack. You don't have to do Ernie's dance routine.
0:09:45 > 0:09:48You can just do your own - that's far better.
0:09:48 > 0:09:50Yeah, and I liked that idea.
0:09:50 > 0:09:53And before long, we were all dancing freestyle...
0:09:53 > 0:09:55Hoo-hoo!
0:09:55 > 0:09:56I'm like a jellyfish.
0:09:56 > 0:10:01..until the tide started to come in and cover the rockpool,
0:10:01 > 0:10:04like a great seaweedy blanket.
0:10:08 > 0:10:12Come on, Salty. It's time to sing again, freestyle.
0:10:12 > 0:10:14I'll hum, and you bark.
0:10:14 > 0:10:16Ready? Here we go.
0:10:21 > 0:10:22You got it?
0:10:23 > 0:10:26# Somewhere
0:10:26 > 0:10:28# beyond the sea
0:10:28 > 0:10:31# Somewhere waiting for me... #
0:10:31 > 0:10:33Come on, wave your paws about.
0:10:34 > 0:10:36So come and join us
0:10:36 > 0:10:39for some more Rockpool Tales next time.
0:10:39 > 0:10:41Goodbye.
0:10:41 > 0:10:43# And never again I'll go sailing
0:10:46 > 0:10:48# No more sailing
0:10:50 > 0:10:52# So long, sailing
0:10:53 > 0:10:56# Bye-bye, sailing... #
