0:00:30 > 0:00:35# Looking back when I was a boy and the fun we had each day
0:00:35 > 0:00:38# Over the cobbles and through the streets
0:00:38 > 0:00:40# Playing in the sun
0:00:40 > 0:00:42# Friends to meet with games and treats
0:00:42 > 0:00:44# Adventures just begun
0:00:44 > 0:00:49# Stories from a magical world Washed in by the sea
0:00:49 > 0:00:55# Meet the rockpool creatures there It's amazing what you see
0:00:55 > 0:00:59# Looking back when I was a boy
0:00:59 > 0:01:01# Shrimps and starfish Crabs and snails
0:01:01 > 0:01:04# In twinkly Rockpool Tales
0:01:04 > 0:01:07Ha-ha! # Those lovely Rockpool Tales. #
0:01:12 > 0:01:15Oh, hello.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18Salty and I have just got back from a lovely walk,
0:01:18 > 0:01:21and I've just washed her very muddy paws.
0:01:21 > 0:01:25HE LAUGHS There we are.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28You know, Salty likes to watch her boat
0:01:28 > 0:01:30bobbing around on the water.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Look at that. Hey-hey!
0:01:33 > 0:01:35There you are, girl.
0:01:35 > 0:01:37Do you know, this boat once belonged
0:01:37 > 0:01:39to Little Sailor Sue?
0:01:39 > 0:01:42Yeah.
0:01:42 > 0:01:45Here, let me tell you the story.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48It all happened when I was a boy,
0:01:48 > 0:01:51in a twinkly time long, long ago.
0:01:54 > 0:01:58I used to run down to the beach as often as I could,
0:01:58 > 0:02:03meeting up with my best friends, Little Ernie and Little Sailor Sue.
0:02:08 > 0:02:11And one day, we were waiting for the tide to go out
0:02:11 > 0:02:14so we could play by the rockpools.
0:02:14 > 0:02:18Now, to pass the time, Little Sailor Sue was digging
0:02:18 > 0:02:23a big hole in the sand to sail her new toy boat.
0:02:23 > 0:02:27She was digging, filling up her bucket from the sea,
0:02:27 > 0:02:30and bringing it back to pour it in.
0:02:30 > 0:02:32Blip! Blop! Blip! Blop!
0:02:32 > 0:02:36But as fast as Sue could put the water in,
0:02:36 > 0:02:38it just disappeared into the sand.
0:02:38 > 0:02:41Oh, no! The water's going away.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43But she wasn't for giving up. Oh, no.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46I'm going to stay here.
0:02:46 > 0:02:49So, Ernie and I decided to head to the rockpools.
0:02:51 > 0:02:54And when we arrived, we gazed deep down
0:02:54 > 0:02:56into the glittery waters.
0:02:56 > 0:03:00A magical world appeared before our eyes.
0:03:07 > 0:03:10This morning, it was peaceful
0:03:10 > 0:03:12and quiet in the rockpool.
0:03:12 > 0:03:17Reginald the Great Wise Limpet, sat on his rock
0:03:17 > 0:03:20and gazed at the boats far out to sea.
0:03:20 > 0:03:23Sally the Starfish and Andrew the Anemone
0:03:23 > 0:03:27bobbed up to the surface to visit Reginald.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30"I'd be sad if I was sat on a rock all day
0:03:30 > 0:03:33"with nothing to do," said Sally.
0:03:33 > 0:03:38Now, Reginald actually rather enjoyed his life on the rock.
0:03:38 > 0:03:41He sat there because that's what limpets do,
0:03:41 > 0:03:46they stick themselves to rocks when the tide goes out.
0:03:46 > 0:03:49And what Reginald liked was the peace and quiet,
0:03:49 > 0:03:52listening to the sounds of the seaside.
0:03:52 > 0:03:56In fact, he was a very happy limpet -
0:03:56 > 0:03:58not sad at all.
0:03:58 > 0:04:02"We need to do something to cheer Reginald up," said Sally.
0:04:02 > 0:04:04Andrew thought...
0:04:04 > 0:04:07"I know, Reginald likes boats,
0:04:07 > 0:04:10"so let's have a boat race for him."
0:04:10 > 0:04:14"Oh, yes," said Sally. "He'd love that."
0:04:14 > 0:04:17Reginald overheard them.
0:04:17 > 0:04:20"Actually," he said,
0:04:20 > 0:04:23"I'm quite happy just sitting here
0:04:23 > 0:04:26"in the peace and quiet."
0:04:26 > 0:04:29But Sally and Andrew, they were already gone.
0:04:29 > 0:04:33They'd scuttled across the rocks to see what the tide had washed up
0:04:33 > 0:04:37on the shore. And they found some old scraps of cloth,
0:04:37 > 0:04:39some sticks, and driftwood.
0:04:39 > 0:04:43"We can build boats with this!" Sally said.
0:04:43 > 0:04:45"How?" asked Andrew.
0:04:45 > 0:04:49"Well, driftwood floats, so that can be the boat.
0:04:49 > 0:04:52"And the cloth can be the sails."
0:04:52 > 0:04:54So, the two friends set to work...
0:04:54 > 0:04:57Bash! Bash! Bash! Bash! Bang! Bang! Bang!
0:04:57 > 0:05:01Reginald tried to close his eyes, but his lovely,
0:05:01 > 0:05:04peaceful rockpool wasn't very peaceful
0:05:04 > 0:05:07or quiet any more.
0:05:07 > 0:05:11Bash! Bash! Boom! Bang! Bing! Bom! Bom!
0:05:11 > 0:05:15- Woof!- Yeah, what a lot of noise, wasn't it, Salty?
0:05:16 > 0:05:19Anyway, finally, after a lot of hard work,
0:05:19 > 0:05:23the two little friends finished their boats.
0:05:23 > 0:05:25"Let's race!" cried Andrew.
0:05:25 > 0:05:29"You can start the race, Reginald!" shouted Sally.
0:05:29 > 0:05:33"First one to that piece of seaweed on the other side
0:05:33 > 0:05:35"of the rockpool wins!" shouted Andrew.
0:05:35 > 0:05:38"Go," sighed Reginald.
0:05:39 > 0:05:41But nothing happened.
0:05:41 > 0:05:45What do you think was wrong, Salty? Hmm?
0:05:45 > 0:05:49That's right, girl, yes - there wasn't any wind to fill the sails.
0:05:49 > 0:05:54Without wind, the little boats weren't going anywhere.
0:05:54 > 0:05:58"Don't worry," said Sally. "I'll get Belinda, she can help."
0:05:58 > 0:06:01Sally shouted out as loud as she could,
0:06:01 > 0:06:04"BELINDA!"
0:06:04 > 0:06:08Belinda the Blenny popped her head out of the water.
0:06:08 > 0:06:09"Did you want me?"
0:06:09 > 0:06:12Sally explained that they were cheering up Reginald
0:06:12 > 0:06:16by racing boats, but there wasn't any wind for the sails.
0:06:16 > 0:06:19"Oh, no problem, I'll be the wind," laughed Belinda,
0:06:19 > 0:06:22and she took a deep breath.
0:06:22 > 0:06:26And then she blew as hard as she could at the little boats.
0:06:26 > 0:06:28SHE BLOWS
0:06:30 > 0:06:34The sails fluttered briefly, but the little boats didn't move.
0:06:34 > 0:06:39"Bother!" said Andrew. "Belinda's not got enough puff."
0:06:39 > 0:06:41And with a splash, he dived into the water
0:06:41 > 0:06:44in search of more rockpoolers.
0:06:44 > 0:06:47Sally looked over at Reginald.
0:06:47 > 0:06:50"Not long now," she shouted.
0:06:50 > 0:06:53"You'll be fun having soon."
0:06:53 > 0:06:57"Marvellous," said Reginald, patiently.
0:06:57 > 0:06:59Just then Andrew popped up
0:06:59 > 0:07:03with Buster the Crab, Sidney the Snail and Bertrum the Butterfish.
0:07:03 > 0:07:06"I've brought some friends to blow our boats
0:07:06 > 0:07:08"across the rockpool," he smiled.
0:07:08 > 0:07:12They all took a deep, deep breath,
0:07:12 > 0:07:16and they blew as hard as they could...
0:07:16 > 0:07:18HE BLOWS
0:07:18 > 0:07:21..and the sails of the little boats filled up,
0:07:21 > 0:07:24and the boats started to move.
0:07:24 > 0:07:27But then, they stopped again.
0:07:27 > 0:07:29Sally couldn't understand.
0:07:29 > 0:07:31"What's wrong?" she said to Andrew.
0:07:31 > 0:07:34"I don't know," said Andrew.
0:07:34 > 0:07:37"You still don't have enough puff
0:07:37 > 0:07:41"to make the boats move," panted Bertram.
0:07:41 > 0:07:46"So, we need the biggest, puffiest friend that we know," said Andrew.
0:07:46 > 0:07:48"Bluey the whale!
0:07:48 > 0:07:52"BLUEY!" he shouted.
0:07:52 > 0:07:55"Can I help?" he shouted back.
0:07:55 > 0:07:58"YES!" shouted Andrew.
0:07:58 > 0:08:01It really was a very shouty day.
0:08:01 > 0:08:05"Can you blow our boats across the rockpool?
0:08:05 > 0:08:08"We're cheering Reginald up!"
0:08:08 > 0:08:12There was an enormous puff of wind.
0:08:12 > 0:08:16Bluey had started to blow.
0:08:16 > 0:08:20Now, whales are very, very big,
0:08:20 > 0:08:23and their puffs are
0:08:23 > 0:08:25very, very puffy indeed.
0:08:26 > 0:08:29Suddenly, the wind from Bluey's blowing
0:08:29 > 0:08:33filled the sails of the little boats, and they shot off.
0:08:33 > 0:08:35"Woohoo!" shouted Andrew and Sally.
0:08:35 > 0:08:38"Isn't this fun, Reginald?"
0:08:38 > 0:08:40"Weeee!" said Andrew.
0:08:40 > 0:08:43"Uh-oh," thought Sally
0:08:43 > 0:08:44as they went flying up
0:08:44 > 0:08:49and splashed and landed right beside Reginald.
0:08:49 > 0:08:51Andrew and Sally were laughing,
0:08:51 > 0:08:54and they made Reginald laugh, too.
0:08:54 > 0:08:57REGINALD LAUGHS
0:09:00 > 0:09:05Reginald laughed the biggest, boomiest laugh that Andrew and Sally
0:09:05 > 0:09:08had ever heard. "Ho-ho-ho, ho-ho-ho!"
0:09:08 > 0:09:11Then, it was all very peaceful
0:09:11 > 0:09:14and quiet in the rockpool again.
0:09:14 > 0:09:18There was a long pause and Reginald,
0:09:18 > 0:09:20he blinked for a moment and then...
0:09:20 > 0:09:25Then he smiled. A really, really big smile.
0:09:26 > 0:09:30"I have had a marvellous day
0:09:30 > 0:09:33"just watching the two of you having fun.
0:09:33 > 0:09:36"Why don't you ask Bluey to blow again?
0:09:36 > 0:09:39"Only, this time, maybe
0:09:39 > 0:09:42"not quite as hard," he chuckled.
0:09:44 > 0:09:47So, that's exactly what Bluey did.
0:09:47 > 0:09:50The little boats raced on the rockpool
0:09:50 > 0:09:52for the rest of the day,
0:09:52 > 0:09:55and each of the rockpoolers took a turn.
0:09:55 > 0:09:58Oh! It was brilliant fun.
0:09:58 > 0:10:02And Reginald sat peacefully and quietly on his rock
0:10:02 > 0:10:05and watched the boats,
0:10:05 > 0:10:07a very happy old limpet.
0:10:08 > 0:10:12Ernie and I had the same idea at the same time.
0:10:12 > 0:10:13"Sue!"
0:10:13 > 0:10:16We called Sue, and she ran over to join us to play.
0:10:16 > 0:10:20- "Why don't you sail your boat in the rockpool?"- "Good idea."
0:10:20 > 0:10:23- Little Sailor Sue's boat set sail... - All aboard!
0:10:23 > 0:10:25..bobbing on the water.
0:10:25 > 0:10:28It was perfect, and we played and played
0:10:28 > 0:10:32until the tide came in and covered the rockpool
0:10:32 > 0:10:34like a great, seaweedy blanket.
0:10:39 > 0:10:40Here, Salty,
0:10:40 > 0:10:45I know somebody else who likes to play with toy boats.
0:10:45 > 0:10:49Right. I'm on my way, here.
0:10:49 > 0:10:51HE HUMS
0:10:51 > 0:10:53ERNIE LAUGHS
0:10:53 > 0:10:57I'm on my way! Ha-ha!
0:10:57 > 0:11:01And why don't you join us for some more Rockpool Tales next time?
0:11:01 > 0:11:03Goodbye. Come on, girl.
0:11:03 > 0:11:06DOG BARKS Let's go and see Ernie. Come on!
