0:03:44 > 0:03:46What have you got for us today, my dear?

0:03:46 > 0:03:48TOOT-TOOT!

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Hey-hey! Come on, Salty.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53# Dee-dee, dee-dee! #

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Here we are.

0:04:03 > 0:04:08Go on, bed. That's it - you curl up in your basket.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11I've got a bit of fixing to do here, so don't distract me.

0:04:11 > 0:04:15I've got to fix this squeaky cupboard door. Listen.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18SQUEAK! SQUEAK!

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Isn't that awful?

0:04:20 > 0:04:22Oh!

0:04:22 > 0:04:28Do you know, I seem to remember we had trouble with a honey jar once.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32Oh, yes.

0:04:32 > 0:04:37Right, you sit tight there, let me get comfortable

0:04:37 > 0:04:39and I'll tell you the story.

0:04:41 > 0:04:46Once upon a twinkly time, the Rainbow set off from Staithes,

0:04:46 > 0:04:52waved goodbye to Whitby and disappeared over the horizon.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55# Just Salty dog and me

0:04:55 > 0:04:57# Upon the silvery sea

0:04:57 > 0:05:00# The waves are waving The sky is blue

0:05:00 > 0:05:03# The sun on the water is twinkly too

0:05:03 > 0:05:06# It's beautiful weather Just sailing together

0:05:06 > 0:05:07# Just Salty Dog and me. #

0:05:09 > 0:05:11And then I noticed something

0:05:11 > 0:05:16a-bibbing and a-bobbing in the water. It looked very strange.

0:05:16 > 0:05:21"Salty," I cried, "That looks like a jar of honey!"

0:05:21 > 0:05:25Well, Salty's eyes got wider and wider.

0:05:25 > 0:05:30I turned around and suddenly I could see why.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34There wasn't just one jar of honey floating on the sea. No!

0:05:34 > 0:05:36There were hundreds of 'em!

0:05:36 > 0:05:40It was an ocean of honey jars.

0:05:40 > 0:05:44Well now, Salty does not like to see a messy sea,

0:05:44 > 0:05:48so we started collecting up all those honey jars

0:05:48 > 0:05:51and then we stacked them neatly on the deck.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54"Well, that's a job well done," I said,

0:05:54 > 0:05:59scratching my head like that, "but where did they come from?"

0:05:59 > 0:06:05And before we had a chance to think, we heard a distant cry.

0:06:05 > 0:06:10It was coming from a tiny desert island nearby.

0:06:10 > 0:06:17"Help! Help! Over here!" cried the voice.

0:06:17 > 0:06:20There was a lonely figure sitting on the sand

0:06:20 > 0:06:22with a tattered blanket round his shoulders

0:06:22 > 0:06:27and a very sticky hand in a honey jar.

0:06:27 > 0:06:30"I'm Windy Funnel," he said.

0:06:30 > 0:06:33"I've got a bit of a tale to tell."

0:06:33 > 0:06:39So we settled down to listen while Windy told his sad tale.

0:06:39 > 0:06:43"A few nights ago I was sitting down by the dock

0:06:43 > 0:06:45"playing my favourite little harp and singing

0:06:45 > 0:06:48"when a terrible wind whipped up.

0:06:48 > 0:06:52"It blew my harp out of my hands, up into the sky

0:06:52 > 0:06:57"and off to a distant tropical island where it got stuck in a tree!

0:06:57 > 0:07:01"Then it blew me right off the dock and down into the sea.

0:07:01 > 0:07:04"It was a nautical nightmare!

0:07:04 > 0:07:06"I was splashing around in the water,

0:07:06 > 0:07:09"floating further and further away from land,

0:07:09 > 0:07:14"but the wind was so windy that it just blew me further out to sea.

0:07:14 > 0:07:19"Just when I thought it was the end of me, what did I see?

0:07:19 > 0:07:23"A honey jar, right there, floating in the water,

0:07:23 > 0:07:27"so I grabbed hold of it and it kept me afloat,

0:07:27 > 0:07:31"and we bobbed and we bibbed all through the night

0:07:31 > 0:07:35"until I was washed up on this desert island."

0:07:35 > 0:07:40Well, Salty and I went to the rescue immediately, didn't we, girl?

0:07:40 > 0:07:45Yeah, we got Windy aboard the Rainbow and we headed for home.

0:07:45 > 0:07:52But as we sailed away, I noticed a dark cloud in the distance

0:07:52 > 0:07:54and it was buzzing.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57Then Salty nudged me

0:07:57 > 0:08:02and pointed to one of the jars of honey we had stacked on deck.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05The label on the honey read,

0:08:05 > 0:08:10"Property of the bees of Bengal Bay. Do not take these jars."

0:08:10 > 0:08:14"Uh-oh!" Said Salty.

0:08:14 > 0:08:18That wasn't an ordinary cloud. Oh, no!

0:08:18 > 0:08:22That was a cloud of very, very angry bees

0:08:22 > 0:08:25who thought we'd taken their honey!

0:08:25 > 0:08:28"What are we going to do?!" cried Windy.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31"We need to get away!"

0:08:31 > 0:08:34"No problem!" I cried.

0:08:34 > 0:08:37"Salty, stoke up the boiler, full speed ahead!

0:08:37 > 0:08:39"We'll outrun those bees."

0:08:39 > 0:08:42But when I pushed the lever to get us going,

0:08:42 > 0:08:46the Rainbow gave a little "splop" sound...

0:08:46 > 0:08:48SPLUTTER! BANG!

0:08:48 > 0:08:54..and stayed dead still in the water. Salty shook her head sadly.

0:08:54 > 0:08:58The Rainbow had broken down again.

0:08:58 > 0:09:01"What are we going to do?" wailed Windy.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04"The bees are getting closer!"

0:09:04 > 0:09:07And then I had an idea.

0:09:07 > 0:09:10"Windy, we need your blanket," I said.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12"We are going to make a sail."

0:09:12 > 0:09:15"But there's no breeze!" wailed Windy.

0:09:15 > 0:09:16"I know," I said.

0:09:16 > 0:09:22"That's why we need this - my trusty dragon whistle."

0:09:22 > 0:09:24So while Windy gave us his blanket

0:09:24 > 0:09:27and I blew hard on my dragon whistle,

0:09:27 > 0:09:32in no time at all Thelma the dragon joined us.

0:09:32 > 0:09:36Salty hoisted Windy's blanket up the mast to make the sail

0:09:36 > 0:09:40and I said to Thelma, "We need some wind in our sail

0:09:40 > 0:09:45"and there's no breeze today. Can you help?"

0:09:45 > 0:09:50Thelma nodded and with one mighty puff...

0:09:52 > 0:09:55..she blew a huge gust of wind into our sail

0:09:55 > 0:09:59and off we shot across the ocean!

0:09:59 > 0:10:01But as fast as we travelled over the water,

0:10:01 > 0:10:04those angry bees kept up the chase!

0:10:04 > 0:10:05Closer and closer they came!

0:10:05 > 0:10:07BUZZ!

0:10:07 > 0:10:12"What are we going to do?" wailed Windy AGAIN!

0:10:12 > 0:10:15And suddenly we heard another sound.

0:10:15 > 0:10:19It wasn't the buzzing of the bees, it wasn't Windy wailing,

0:10:19 > 0:10:23it was the sound of a magical harp.

0:10:23 > 0:10:26I took out my trusty telescope and peered into it,

0:10:26 > 0:10:31and there in the distance was the tropical island

0:10:31 > 0:10:36and there was his harp, still stuck in a palm tree!

0:10:36 > 0:10:40The breeze that Thelma was making was blowing through the strings,

0:10:40 > 0:10:42making sweet, sweet music.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44HARP PLAYS SWEET MUSIC

0:10:44 > 0:10:47"My harp!" cried Windy.

0:10:47 > 0:10:52Then Salty gave a little tug at my sleeve and I looked round

0:10:52 > 0:10:55and what a sight did I see!

0:10:55 > 0:10:57Oh-ho-ho-ho!

0:10:57 > 0:11:01The angry bees had stopped chasing us.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04In fact, they weren't even angry any more.

0:11:04 > 0:11:10The magical music from Windy's harp had worked like a charm on them,

0:11:10 > 0:11:15and they now softly buzzed around, listening to the music

0:11:15 > 0:11:20and gently flapping their little bee wings and humming.

0:11:22 > 0:11:27"It's your harp, Windy!" I exclaimed. "It IS magical!"

0:11:27 > 0:11:31Well, now that the bees weren't angry any more

0:11:31 > 0:11:33and we could give them all their honey pots back,

0:11:33 > 0:11:35they were very grateful.

0:11:35 > 0:11:39We said goodbye to Thelma... "Bye-bye!"

0:11:39 > 0:11:42..and she flew off into the sky

0:11:42 > 0:11:47and the first breeze of the day gently filled Windy's blanket

0:11:47 > 0:11:52and we sailed back home again to the sound of his magical harp.

0:11:52 > 0:11:56It was good, wasn't it, eh, Salty?

0:11:56 > 0:11:58Ha-ha! What a trip! Ho-ho-ho-ho!

0:12:08 > 0:12:11You liked that story, Salty, did you?

0:12:11 > 0:12:13It's all true, of course, even the bees.

0:12:13 > 0:12:14BUZZ!

0:12:14 > 0:12:16Oh!

0:12:16 > 0:12:18Oh, Salty, look at that!

0:12:18 > 0:12:20Ha-ha-ha-ha!

0:12:22 > 0:12:24That looks like Ernie's breakfast!

0:12:24 > 0:12:25Ho-ho-ho!

0:12:25 > 0:12:28Oh! Ha! Do you know what?

0:12:28 > 0:12:31All that rolling around the village must have loosened it up.

0:12:31 > 0:12:33Come on, let's go and find Ernie.

0:12:33 > 0:12:35Ho-ho-ho!

0:12:41 > 0:12:44- Ernie!- Oh!

0:12:44 > 0:12:47You're a miracle worker, Jack! You've found it!

0:12:47 > 0:12:51- I think Salty might have had a paw in it, as well.- Aw!

0:12:51 > 0:12:54Well, I managed to get it back off Sam,

0:12:54 > 0:12:57but then I dropped it on my way home.

0:12:57 > 0:13:00Ah, well, now for some breakfast!

0:13:00 > 0:13:04Why don't you pull up a fish crate and join me for honey on toast?

0:13:04 > 0:13:07Isn't your toaster back at the house?

0:13:07 > 0:13:08Ah!

0:13:08 > 0:13:10And the bread?

0:13:10 > 0:13:13- Ah.- You haven't thought this through, have you, Ernie?

0:13:13 > 0:13:14- No.- No.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17Well, what you should do is to shut up shop for about an hour,

0:13:17 > 0:13:20get yourself over to the Mermaid Cafe

0:13:20 > 0:13:22because Shelly does a lovely toast and honey.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24- She does.- She does.

0:13:24 > 0:13:27- You know what?- What? - I think I will!- Right.

0:13:27 > 0:13:28Whoop! Ha-ha!

0:13:28 > 0:13:31Mwah! Honey!

0:13:31 > 0:13:32Uh-oh! Bees!
