0:02:18 > 0:02:21Oh, it's nice and icy and every so spicy!

0:02:21 > 0:02:26That's because it's strawberry and hot chilli flavour!

0:04:16 > 0:04:19The Rainbow. Well, what have you got for us today, my dear?

0:04:19 > 0:04:21HORN BLOWS

0:04:21 > 0:04:23Hey!

0:04:23 > 0:04:25Come on, Salty.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27HE HUMS

0:04:27 > 0:04:28Here we are.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Go on, then, go on your bed.

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Good girl.

0:04:41 > 0:04:42Oh, dear.

0:04:42 > 0:04:44HE LAUGHS

0:04:44 > 0:04:48I wonder what Emily's going to do with that delivery of umbrellas.

0:04:49 > 0:04:54We had trouble with a delivery once, didn't we? Do you remember?

0:04:54 > 0:04:58Ah, yes, Salty, this will make your ears stand on end.

0:04:58 > 0:05:03Right, once upon a twinkly time, the Rainbow set off from Staithes,

0:05:03 > 0:05:06waved goodbye to Whitby and disappeared

0:05:06 > 0:05:09over the horizon.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11# Just Salty Dog and me

0:05:11 > 0:05:12HORN BLOWS

0:05:12 > 0:05:13# Upon the briny sea

0:05:13 > 0:05:15HORN BLOWS

0:05:15 > 0:05:17# There's no other place we want to be

0:05:17 > 0:05:19# When the sun is shining constantly

0:05:19 > 0:05:23# We'll just sit and relax in our shades and sunhats

0:05:23 > 0:05:26# Just Salty Dog and me. #

0:05:26 > 0:05:27HORN BLOWS

0:05:27 > 0:05:29HE LAUGHS

0:05:29 > 0:05:32What we needed was a seaweed smoothie,

0:05:32 > 0:05:35but before I could pour us a glass,

0:05:35 > 0:05:39Salty spotted a tiny dot in the sky.

0:05:39 > 0:05:42"Something's coming!" she woofed.

0:05:42 > 0:05:47Well, the tiny dot grew larger as it moved towards us.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50"It's Brenda, the stork!" barked Salty.

0:05:50 > 0:05:54"And she's carrying a heavy bundle."

0:05:54 > 0:05:57Brenda was heading straight for us.

0:05:57 > 0:06:00And she looked all... All wibbly-wobbly.

0:06:00 > 0:06:02"You, down there!

0:06:02 > 0:06:04"Catch my bundle!" she cried.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06"I'm... I'm going to crash."

0:06:06 > 0:06:08"Quick, Salty!" I shouted.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10"Hold out your paws."

0:06:10 > 0:06:13Well, Salty stuck her paws out

0:06:13 > 0:06:15just in time to catch the bundle.

0:06:15 > 0:06:19And seconds later, Brenda... crashed onto the deck.

0:06:19 > 0:06:20Oh!

0:06:22 > 0:06:25"Are you all right?" I asked.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28"No," she said, untangling her legs.

0:06:28 > 0:06:32"I'm on my way to Smoulder Island to make an urgent delivery,

0:06:32 > 0:06:38"but my bill's as dry as a desert and my wings have run out of flap."

0:06:38 > 0:06:40"What are you delivering?" I asked.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43"Can't tell you," said Brenda.

0:06:43 > 0:06:45"It's top-secret."

0:06:45 > 0:06:50"It must be a baby," I whispered in Salty's ear,

0:06:50 > 0:06:54"because I've heard people say that storks deliver babies

0:06:54 > 0:06:56"to their mothers."

0:06:56 > 0:06:58But Salty just rolled her eyes

0:06:58 > 0:07:02because she doesn't believe these old tales.

0:07:02 > 0:07:06"We can sail you to Smoulder Island with your bundle," I said.

0:07:06 > 0:07:10"And while we're on our way, you can have a rest."

0:07:10 > 0:07:12Well, we hadn't gone far

0:07:12 > 0:07:16when we saw a ship approaching.

0:07:16 > 0:07:21"Uh-oh! Looks like the Hurly-Burly," I said.

0:07:21 > 0:07:26Now, then, the Hurly-Burly is no ordinary ship.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29It belongs to Kitty Cutlass,

0:07:29 > 0:07:32the trickiest pirate to sail the seas.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36"Ahoy, Jack and Salty!" she cried.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39And she brought her ship up alongside.

0:07:39 > 0:07:43"Good to see you, me old diamonds," she said.

0:07:43 > 0:07:47"Can I share a seaweed smoothie?"

0:07:47 > 0:07:49And before we knew it,

0:07:49 > 0:07:51Kitty had jumped aboard.

0:07:51 > 0:07:55"Where are you heading?" she asked.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59"South," says I. "We are helping Brenda the stork

0:07:59 > 0:08:01"with an urgent delivery."

0:08:01 > 0:08:05Kitty eyed Brenda with interest.

0:08:05 > 0:08:08She eyed the bundle too and she thought she saw

0:08:08 > 0:08:10a glimmer of gold.

0:08:12 > 0:08:16Off I went to get the drinks, but I hadn't turned my back for a second

0:08:16 > 0:08:19when I heard Salty bark, "Stop!"

0:08:19 > 0:08:21Kitty Cutlass had gone.

0:08:21 > 0:08:24And she'd taken Brenda's bundle with her.

0:08:24 > 0:08:29"Bring back my bundle immediately!" cried Brenda, who had woken up.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31"This is outrageous!"

0:08:31 > 0:08:33"Chase her!" Salty yapped.

0:08:33 > 0:08:38So, we turned the Rainbow around and we made chase.

0:08:38 > 0:08:41Meanwhile, on board the Hurly-Burly,

0:08:41 > 0:08:45Kitty Cutlass had opened up the bundle

0:08:45 > 0:08:50and found a fabulous, glittery, egg-shaped thing inside.

0:08:50 > 0:08:55"Ha-ha! Treasure!" she cried joyfully.

0:08:55 > 0:08:59But suddenly, she heard a tapping sound.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01OLD JACK TAPS

0:09:01 > 0:09:03"What's that?" she wondered.

0:09:03 > 0:09:07It was coming from the treasure.

0:09:07 > 0:09:10She peered at it closely and she saw a crack.

0:09:10 > 0:09:11CRACKING

0:09:11 > 0:09:15And the crack grew larger and larger

0:09:15 > 0:09:17until the egg-shaped treasure

0:09:17 > 0:09:20suddenly burst open

0:09:20 > 0:09:24and, to Kitty's amazement, a scaly beast with leathery wings

0:09:24 > 0:09:27and a long tail forced its way out.

0:09:27 > 0:09:32It crumpled up its face, let out a sneeze...

0:09:32 > 0:09:34OLD JACK SNEEZES

0:09:34 > 0:09:37..and breathed out a wisp of smoke.

0:09:37 > 0:09:42"Tickle me dimples! It's a dragon!" cried Kitty.

0:09:42 > 0:09:46The baby dragon looked at Kitty lovingly.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48"Ah...

0:09:48 > 0:09:50"Mummy!"

0:09:50 > 0:09:54"I'm not your mummy. Shoo!" cried Kitty.

0:09:54 > 0:10:00And she looked around wildly and she saw our boat in the distance.

0:10:00 > 0:10:02"Help!" she cried.

0:10:02 > 0:10:04"Help!"

0:10:04 > 0:10:08Well, we raced to the Hurly-Burly and we jumped on board.

0:10:08 > 0:10:12"I-I'm in trouble!" Kitty cried. "I shouldn't have taken that bundle.

0:10:12 > 0:10:16"I thought it was treasure, but it was a dragon's egg."

0:10:16 > 0:10:20The baby dragon looked lovingly at Kitty,

0:10:20 > 0:10:24puffing fiery clouds of smoke.

0:10:24 > 0:10:28And then Salty sniffed the smoke

0:10:28 > 0:10:31and her whiskers whiffled.

0:10:31 > 0:10:35She was having one of her bright ideas.

0:10:35 > 0:10:38We all dashed back onto the Rainbow

0:10:38 > 0:10:40and she skittered to the engine room.

0:10:40 > 0:10:45Then she jumped up and pulled the puffer rope.

0:10:45 > 0:10:46HORN BLOWS

0:10:46 > 0:10:50Four large clouds of smoke puffed out of the ship's funnel.

0:10:50 > 0:10:54"Salty, you are a genius!" I cried,

0:10:54 > 0:10:59for she was sending a smoke signal to show the dragon's mummy

0:10:59 > 0:11:01where we were.

0:11:01 > 0:11:05"It's coming!" cried Kitty. "Look!"

0:11:05 > 0:11:06And sure enough,

0:11:06 > 0:11:09an enormous beast was flying towards us.

0:11:09 > 0:11:12It was Thelma, the dragon.

0:11:12 > 0:11:16She swooped down and she perched on the stern of the ship,

0:11:16 > 0:11:19making us dip dangerously low in the water.

0:11:19 > 0:11:25Well, when it set eyes on the little dragon, it let out a powerful roar.

0:11:25 > 0:11:28"Baby!" it cried.

0:11:28 > 0:11:31The little dragon looked in amazement,

0:11:31 > 0:11:34first at the huge dragon and then at Kitty.

0:11:34 > 0:11:41"You see? I'm not your mummy. That's your mummy," said Kitty.

0:11:41 > 0:11:46Thelma blew out a heart-shaped puff of smoke

0:11:46 > 0:11:49which drifted towards the baby dragon.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51"Mmmmm!

0:11:51 > 0:11:53"Mummy!"

0:11:53 > 0:11:55squealed the baby dragon.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58And it leapt forward joyously

0:11:58 > 0:12:02and nuzzled its mum with its snout.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04Then with a huge whoosh

0:12:04 > 0:12:08they flew off to Smoulder Island.

0:12:08 > 0:12:09Ha-ha!

0:12:09 > 0:12:13"Ah, I think that's made us all a bit hot around the collar,

0:12:13 > 0:12:16"hasn't it, Salty?" I said. "But don't worry,

0:12:16 > 0:12:20"I think a seaweed smoothie will cool us all down."

0:12:20 > 0:12:25So we sipped our drinks as the sun dipped low.

0:12:25 > 0:12:27HORN BLOWS

0:12:27 > 0:12:32And with that, we sailed off to Staithes and home.

0:12:32 > 0:12:33HORN BLOWS

0:12:38 > 0:12:40Did you like that story, Salty?

0:12:40 > 0:12:43Yeah? All true, of course.

0:12:43 > 0:12:46Mind you, my stories always are!

0:12:46 > 0:12:48Come on, girl.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Hello, Emily, my dearest.

0:12:59 > 0:13:03I've just come for my strawberry and chilli ice cream.

0:13:03 > 0:13:06- How has it been selling? - Almost run out!- Really?

0:13:06 > 0:13:09- I've had queues all morning.- Right.

0:13:09 > 0:13:11I've been so busy.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14- Ha! Really?- Yes. Unbelievable.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17- You see, I thought up a fancy name like you said.- Yes.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21- And it's been a huge hit. - Wonderful, wonderful.

0:13:21 > 0:13:25But don't worry. I've remembered to save the last cone for you.

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Lovely!

0:13:26 > 0:13:28HE LAUGHS

0:13:28 > 0:13:30Here we are, Jack.

0:13:30 > 0:13:34Your very own Smoulder Boulder!

0:13:34 > 0:13:36Smoulder Boulder! What a good name!

0:13:36 > 0:13:40I knew you'd find a use for the little umbrellas as well.

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Yes, it wasn't such a bad delivery after all!

0:13:43 > 0:13:45You know, that is delicious!

0:13:45 > 0:13:47- GULL SQUAWKS - Uh-oh.

0:13:47 > 0:13:48Oh...

0:13:48 > 0:13:51Weather's turning. I'd better pack up.

0:13:51 > 0:13:55We'll be on our way as well. Come on, Salty. Thanks, Em! Goodbye!

0:13:55 > 0:13:56Bye, Jack!
