0:01:39 > 0:01:43Hello, there, Sam. What's all the banging about, then?
0:01:43 > 0:01:46Jack, Salty, great to see you. Just finishing this beach hut
0:01:46 > 0:01:49for Miss Bowline-Hitch. What do you think?
0:01:49 > 0:01:53- Well, it looks very nice, but it's a bit...- Dusty?
0:01:53 > 0:01:57Yes, still needs a good clean. Can I borrow your feather duster?
0:01:57 > 0:02:01- Yeah, of course. But I meant it's a bit...- Small?
0:02:01 > 0:02:05- No, I meant it's a bit wonky. Is it going to stay up?- Of course.
0:02:05 > 0:02:07Safe as beach houses, this!
0:02:07 > 0:02:09Oh!
0:02:09 > 0:02:11Probably don't need that piece.
0:02:11 > 0:02:15- How come there are pieces left over?- I think they're spare bits.
0:02:15 > 0:02:20Cockles! Mussels! Crab sticks!
0:02:22 > 0:02:27- What in the sauce of a thousand islands is that?- It's a beach hut.
0:02:27 > 0:02:30Oh. Sorry for being so clumsy. Still, no damage done, eh?
0:02:38 > 0:02:39- Oh, dear.- Oh, no!
0:02:39 > 0:02:43Miss Bowline-Hitch is going to visit soon!
0:02:43 > 0:02:48- She wanted this beach hut finished today!- Oh, galloping guppies!
0:02:48 > 0:02:52- I'll help you put it straight back up, Sam.- Can I lend a hand?
0:02:52 > 0:02:55No need, Jack. We'll have this fixed in no time.
0:02:55 > 0:02:59I'll get back to the Rainbow, see if I can get that feather duster.
0:02:59 > 0:03:04Come on, Salty. I never touched it. I never touched it.
0:03:15 > 0:03:22There she is. The Rainbow. What have you got for us today, my dear?
0:03:24 > 0:03:26Come on, Salty.
0:03:37 > 0:03:42Now, where is that feather duster? Oh, dear. Where is it?
0:03:45 > 0:03:47Oh-ho-ho!
0:03:47 > 0:03:52What a clever dog you are. Sit in your bed. What a clever girl.
0:03:52 > 0:03:56This feather duster. Thank you very much, Salty.
0:03:56 > 0:04:00We've had this old thing for quite a while, haven't we?
0:04:00 > 0:04:06If only it could talk. Think of the amazing tales that would tell.
0:04:06 > 0:04:09I can think of one right now, actually. Yes.
0:04:09 > 0:04:14Once upon a twinkly time, the Rainbow set off from Staithes,
0:04:14 > 0:04:20waved goodbye to Whitby and disappeared over the horizon.
0:04:20 > 0:04:25We sailed for many, many hours. Salty and I shared a sigh.
0:04:25 > 0:04:28We'd been hoping for an adventure,
0:04:28 > 0:04:34but all day long we only had a flat, empty ocean to gaze at.
0:04:34 > 0:04:37We were about to give up hope and head home
0:04:37 > 0:04:42when suddenly a bright light flashed and danced in the distance.
0:04:42 > 0:04:47"At last!" we cried, and off we set to investigate, singing as we went.
0:04:47 > 0:04:50# Just Salty Dog and me
0:04:50 > 0:04:52# Upon the silvery sea
0:04:52 > 0:04:55# The fish are flying, the sky is blue
0:04:55 > 0:04:58# We're looking for fun and adventure too
0:04:58 > 0:05:00# Sailing away on a hot, sunny day
0:05:00 > 0:05:02# Just Salty Dog and me. #
0:05:03 > 0:05:07And just off the shore of a jungly island,
0:05:07 > 0:05:13we found two enormous circles of glass sticking out of the sea.
0:05:13 > 0:05:16Each with a frame of tangled, twisted seaweed.
0:05:16 > 0:05:21They looked like the huge portholes of a sunken ship,
0:05:21 > 0:05:23sparkling in the sunlight.
0:05:23 > 0:05:28And the sea all around seemed to boil and bubble with
0:05:28 > 0:05:33a terrible commotion, so Salty and I jumped in to see what was going on.
0:05:33 > 0:05:35There was chaos.
0:05:35 > 0:05:39Fish swimming this way and that, and all in a panic, all shouting
0:05:39 > 0:05:41and screaming.
0:05:43 > 0:05:47"The big hand, it's scooped up our houses and it ate them!
0:05:47 > 0:05:51"It's a giant! He'll eat us all!"
0:05:51 > 0:05:57Well, we had wanted an adventure, and now we had one!
0:05:58 > 0:06:03Just then, a giant foot stamped down through the water,
0:06:03 > 0:06:06smashing a coral reef to pieces.
0:06:06 > 0:06:10Then another foot kicked through a cluster of boulders
0:06:10 > 0:06:13and scattered them like so many marbles.
0:06:13 > 0:06:17We made a dash for an old ruined castle, but before we could reach it
0:06:17 > 0:06:21an enormous hand scooped it clean out of the sea.
0:06:21 > 0:06:27Salty thought it was time to leave, so back to the Rainbow we swam,
0:06:27 > 0:06:31faster than any fish and twice as terrified.
0:06:31 > 0:06:37Then, as we watched, the giant emerged from the waves.
0:06:38 > 0:06:43The mountainous man stumbled towards the island, roaring, "No see!
0:06:43 > 0:06:46"No see!"
0:06:46 > 0:06:48And then he suddenly tripped
0:06:48 > 0:06:53and fell onto the beach with a thundering crash - kaboom!
0:06:54 > 0:06:56It was all very odd.
0:06:56 > 0:07:00Sea giants are generally gentle creatures who love the sea
0:07:00 > 0:07:05and everything in it. Something odd was going on.
0:07:05 > 0:07:08Salty and I sailed a little closer to find out more.
0:07:08 > 0:07:12The giant dragged himself up to sit
0:07:12 > 0:07:16and swallowed the rest of the castle.
0:07:17 > 0:07:23"Ohhh. Tummy ache. Need a drink," he moaned, leaning forward.
0:07:23 > 0:07:27And before we knew what was happening, the Rainbow was
0:07:27 > 0:07:33scooped up in a gleaming pool of water, cupped in the giant's hands.
0:07:33 > 0:07:37And with a gigantic gulp, he drank us.
0:07:37 > 0:07:40Me, Salty, the Rainbow and all.
0:07:40 > 0:07:44Down the giant's throat we went, spinning and sliding.
0:07:44 > 0:07:48We landed with a splash in the giant's stomach,
0:07:48 > 0:07:52amongst hundreds of huge objects he had eaten.
0:07:52 > 0:07:55There were semi-sunken ships of all sizes,
0:07:55 > 0:08:00boulders and bobbing boats and clumps of coral, crumbling castles.
0:08:01 > 0:08:05Giants only usually eat seaweed.
0:08:05 > 0:08:09It was no wonder that he had a tummy ache.
0:08:09 > 0:08:13But why had he eaten all of this?
0:08:13 > 0:08:17Suddenly, a thicket of palm trees drop down the giant's throat
0:08:17 > 0:08:19and landed right on top of us.
0:08:19 > 0:08:25"No see. No see!" we heard the giant roar again.
0:08:25 > 0:08:30And then Salty had one of her good ideas.
0:08:30 > 0:08:35Perhaps the giant had been saying "no see"
0:08:35 > 0:08:39because he couldn't see very well!
0:08:39 > 0:08:43That's why he'd eaten all these unusual things.
0:08:43 > 0:08:46"Well, he needs a pair of glasses," I said,
0:08:46 > 0:08:50as another load of trees fell nearby. "Of course," said Salty.
0:08:50 > 0:08:53The shiny thing we found near the island wasn't
0:08:53 > 0:08:56the portholes of a sunken ship, it was a giant's glasses.
0:08:56 > 0:09:01He'd lost them! Clever Salty.
0:09:01 > 0:09:06Our next job was to escape from the giant's stomach and show him
0:09:06 > 0:09:08where his glasses were to stop him
0:09:08 > 0:09:12stumbling around and eating all the wrong things.
0:09:12 > 0:09:17But how were we going to escape? Salty knew how.
0:09:17 > 0:09:21She pulled down a huge sail that was still
0:09:21 > 0:09:26hanging from the mast of a great galleon, half sunken next to us.
0:09:26 > 0:09:31And quick as a flash, she tied the sail corners tight to the boat so it
0:09:31 > 0:09:35caught the smoke from the Rainbow's funnel like a big billowing balloon.
0:09:35 > 0:09:40The Rainbow was lifted up into the air,
0:09:40 > 0:09:45up, up we went until we reached the top of the giant's throat.
0:09:45 > 0:09:50But when we reached the top, just behind his tongue, disaster.
0:09:51 > 0:09:56We could see through his open mouth that he was about to swallow
0:09:56 > 0:09:58another handful of trees.
0:09:58 > 0:10:02They would push us right back down to the giant's stomach,
0:10:02 > 0:10:08so Salty grabbed the feather duster and I tickled the giant's tonsils.
0:10:08 > 0:10:12Of course, the giant didn't like having a tickly throat,
0:10:12 > 0:10:15and he gave an almighty cough.
0:10:18 > 0:10:22We shot out of his mouth and into the fresh sea air.
0:10:22 > 0:10:25We were free at last!
0:10:25 > 0:10:29That fluffy little feather duster and Salty's quick thinking
0:10:29 > 0:10:31had saved us.
0:10:31 > 0:10:36Salty steered us round to just beside the giant's ear.
0:10:36 > 0:10:45"Giant", I shouted. "We'll take you to your glasses. Follow this sound."
0:10:45 > 0:10:48"Toot toot!" went the Rainbow, sounding her horn.
0:10:48 > 0:10:50The giant gave a booming, "OK,"
0:10:50 > 0:10:56and he waded after us as we sped through the air, tooting the horn.
0:10:56 > 0:10:57As we drew near,
0:10:57 > 0:11:00I loosened one of the sail ropes,
0:11:00 > 0:11:03which let the hot smoke slowly escape,
0:11:03 > 0:11:07and our balloon boat spiralled down slowly
0:11:07 > 0:11:10onto the sparkling sea. When the giant was close,
0:11:10 > 0:11:15he could see and smell the colourful smoke leading him down.
0:11:15 > 0:11:22And after a delicate search around he finally found his glasses.
0:11:22 > 0:11:27Ha-ha! We'd done it! Now he could see again.
0:11:27 > 0:11:29"Eeuurrgh," he said,
0:11:29 > 0:11:34at the sight of the half-finished castle in his hand.
0:11:34 > 0:11:39"No eat that." And with a booming "Thanks"
0:11:39 > 0:11:42and a very gentle "I'm sorry"
0:11:42 > 0:11:46he strode off for a giant seaweed snack,
0:11:46 > 0:11:52being very careful not to crush any coral or to kick any rocks.
0:11:52 > 0:11:58Well, the fish all cheered, hurray! Salty and I were heroes.
0:11:58 > 0:12:01Well, we were just pleased to be safe again.
0:12:01 > 0:12:08We'd had our adventure and now it was time to go back home.
0:12:08 > 0:12:11I must say, we were tickled pink.
0:12:19 > 0:12:24- Hello! You finished the hut, then! - Well, sort of.
0:12:24 > 0:12:29- We're...- Admiring your handiwork? - No. Holding it up.- What?
0:12:29 > 0:12:31If we step away, it will fall over.
0:12:31 > 0:12:33Miss Bowline-Hitch will be here soon!
0:12:33 > 0:12:35MOBILE RINGS
0:12:35 > 0:12:39- That will be her now! - Don't do that! The hut!
0:12:39 > 0:12:41This duster might help.
0:12:41 > 0:12:45I don't think dusting at a time like this is going to help.
0:12:45 > 0:12:49Who said anything about dusting? Look out, Salty.
0:12:51 > 0:12:54- It works!- What did I tell you?
0:12:58 > 0:13:02- Hello?- Hello, it's me.
0:13:02 > 0:13:06- Hello. It's her! - Is my beach hut up yet?
0:13:07 > 0:13:13- It is, no problem.- It looks lovely down here on the beach.- The beach?
0:13:13 > 0:13:17What's it doing there? I wanted it on the harbour side.
0:13:19 > 0:13:22- Oh, dear.- Is it easy to take down?
0:13:22 > 0:13:26I don't think so. It's built to last.
0:13:26 > 0:13:29Solid as a rock.
0:13:32 > 0:13:36- And it's collapsible.- Jolly good.
0:13:36 > 0:13:40In that case, you could pop it up onto the harbour side.
0:13:40 > 0:13:44Thank you, dear. Toodle-ooh!
0:13:46 > 0:13:50- To work.- To work.- I'll leave you to it. Come on, Salty.
