0:02:32 > 0:02:35Oh, well, what about a deckchair, then?

0:02:35 > 0:02:36Oh, far too complicated!

0:02:36 > 0:02:40I never sit down unless it's on my bike. Never!

0:02:40 > 0:02:43I'm not that sort of person. I'm far too busy-busy.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47I see. We should be getting busy-busy too. Eh, Salty?

0:02:47 > 0:02:51Yeah, I've got a lot of ropes that need coiling over on the Rainbow.

0:02:51 > 0:02:56Right, so I'll...I'll see you later, Miss Bowline-Hitch.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15What have you got for us today, me dear?

0:03:15 > 0:03:17- WHISTLE - (HE LAUGHS)

0:03:17 > 0:03:21Come on, Salty. (HE HUMS)

0:03:21 > 0:03:23Here we are.

0:03:28 > 0:03:31WHISTLE

0:03:31 > 0:03:36All right? Yeah, you look comfy there, Salty. Yeah.

0:03:36 > 0:03:40Miss Bowline-Hitch didn't look like she'd be comfy

0:03:40 > 0:03:42on any of those seats I offered her.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46Here, do you remember the time we met the Seaweed Queen?

0:03:46 > 0:03:51She could never get comfy, could she? (HE LAUGHS)

0:03:51 > 0:03:53I'll do that later, all right?

0:03:53 > 0:03:56Yes, I'll just see if I can remember that story.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00I think I'll get comfy, too. There we are.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02Are you comfy? Good.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06Well, once upon a twinkly time, we set off from Staithes,

0:04:06 > 0:04:11waved goodbye to Whitby, and disappeared over the horizon.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14And as we sailed, we sang.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17# Just Salty Dog and me

0:04:17 > 0:04:19# On the briny, shiny sea

0:04:19 > 0:04:22# There's many odd jobs We know we should do

0:04:22 > 0:04:25# But the sun's in the sky And the sky is so blue

0:04:25 > 0:04:28# So we'll stay at our ease And do what we please

0:04:28 > 0:04:31- # Just Salty Dog and me. # - WHISTLE

0:04:31 > 0:04:35Yeah, we were just getting really relaxed,

0:04:35 > 0:04:38when suddenly, "Ouch!"

0:04:38 > 0:04:40A beautiful crown flew out of the water

0:04:40 > 0:04:44and fell back down with a splash.

0:04:44 > 0:04:49"Fetch my crown," came an angry voice.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51Salty looked at me and I looked at Salty.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Something was going on under the waves

0:04:54 > 0:04:56and we thought we'd better find out.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59Well, as soon as we got under the water,

0:04:59 > 0:05:03we saw lots of fish rushing here and there in a great panic.

0:05:03 > 0:05:07And it wasn't long before we heard another, "Ouch!!"

0:05:07 > 0:05:10And again the crown went whizzing past

0:05:10 > 0:05:12followed by a cushion. Oops! Whoa!

0:05:14 > 0:05:19Eventually, we came to a pair of enormous golden gates

0:05:19 > 0:05:23and a large grim codfish with cotton wool in his ears

0:05:23 > 0:05:27was standing beside the gate on guard.

0:05:27 > 0:05:32Salty and I explained that we were interested in going inside the gates

0:05:32 > 0:05:34to see what was going on.

0:05:34 > 0:05:38"In there?" said the guard. "It's just noise and shouting.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41"That's why we have cotton wool in our ears.

0:05:41 > 0:05:45"You can go in if you like, but you'll only get shouted at. Ouch!",

0:05:45 > 0:05:49just as another cushion went flying past.

0:05:49 > 0:05:54Well, inside the gates was a beautiful underwater garden.

0:05:54 > 0:05:59An old gardener fish was raking up seashells nearby.

0:05:59 > 0:06:03We heard another shout from the other end of the garden.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06"Ouch! This is no good!"

0:06:06 > 0:06:10Well, the old gardener ducked as the crown flew past again.

0:06:10 > 0:06:14We asked him what was going on and he looked at us sadly.

0:06:14 > 0:06:18"It's the Queen of Seaweed, she loves her garden and she likes

0:06:18 > 0:06:24"to sit on her throne and gaze out at all the beautiful plants."

0:06:24 > 0:06:28Well, Salty and I thought she sounded nice.

0:06:28 > 0:06:32"Oh, she's not," said the gardener quietly. "She's a stinker."

0:06:32 > 0:06:35"She's rude and tells everyone off.

0:06:35 > 0:06:38"And no-one knows why she throws cushions all day.

0:06:38 > 0:06:44"Every time she sits down her crown flies off the top of her head."

0:06:44 > 0:06:47Well, this was very peculiar.

0:06:47 > 0:06:51And Salty and I, we decided that we had better go and see

0:06:51 > 0:06:53the Queen of Seaweed right away.

0:06:53 > 0:06:59So we walked over, ducking the odd flying cushion as we did so.

0:06:59 > 0:07:05Well, finally we arrived at a large and very elegant golden throne.

0:07:05 > 0:07:11"Try another cushion!" It was the Queen of Seaweed.

0:07:11 > 0:07:14She was very serious looking with seaweedy hair,

0:07:14 > 0:07:18a long flowing dress and she was wearing the crown.

0:07:18 > 0:07:25And beside her was a rather sad little fish carrying a cushion.

0:07:25 > 0:07:30"Put it on the throne!" she ordered. "And this time it had better work!"

0:07:30 > 0:07:34Well, the sad little fish did so.

0:07:34 > 0:07:40Then the Queen sat down... rather gingerly on the throne.

0:07:40 > 0:07:42"Ouch!" she shouted.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45And the crown shot off into the air.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48Two soldier fish appeared and raced after it.

0:07:48 > 0:07:52"Not again!" shouted the seaweed queen hurling the cushion.

0:07:52 > 0:07:56Then she saw us standing there watching her with open mouths.

0:07:56 > 0:08:01"What are you staring at?! Go away!" barked the Queen.

0:08:01 > 0:08:05Well, I bowed low and said, "Ma'am, we heard your shouts

0:08:05 > 0:08:10"and we thought we might be able to help find out what the problem is."

0:08:10 > 0:08:15"I know what the problem is!" snapped the Queen. "It's that!!"

0:08:15 > 0:08:21The Queen was pointing at a spiky little creature.

0:08:21 > 0:08:23It was a tiny sea urchin

0:08:23 > 0:08:27which was sitting quietly in the middle of her throne,

0:08:27 > 0:08:32right where the Queen wanted to place the royal bottom.

0:08:32 > 0:08:34"It's a nasty, prickly, spiky thing

0:08:34 > 0:08:38"and I can't sit down on my throne because of it."

0:08:38 > 0:08:42"Every time I do it hurts and my crown goes flying in the air."

0:08:42 > 0:08:45"I've tried putting cushions on it,

0:08:45 > 0:08:48"but I can still feel those pointy little spikes!"

0:08:48 > 0:08:53Sad little fish with the cushion said in a quiet voice,

0:08:53 > 0:08:55"We've tried to move it,

0:08:55 > 0:08:58"but it's so spiky that none of us can pick it up."

0:08:58 > 0:09:01The sea urchin blinked and stared at us.

0:09:01 > 0:09:06I scratched my beard. Now, here was a pretty problem.

0:09:06 > 0:09:12And then for the first time the sea urchin spoke.

0:09:12 > 0:09:17"Ask her to say please," it said in a tiny voice.

0:09:17 > 0:09:22The Queen looked like thunder.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24In all of her born days,

0:09:24 > 0:09:28she had never, ever, ever had to say please!

0:09:28 > 0:09:33She was a queen, queens didn't say please!

0:09:33 > 0:09:37"Well, perhaps that's the problem, Your Majesty," I suggested.

0:09:37 > 0:09:41All the fish that work for you are unhappy

0:09:41 > 0:09:43because you shout all the time.

0:09:43 > 0:09:47Maybe if you were a little bit nicer...

0:09:47 > 0:09:51Well, I thought the Queen was going to explode.

0:09:51 > 0:09:58But instead...she took a careful look around her garden

0:09:58 > 0:10:02and she saw the sad faces of all her fish with cotton wool in their ears

0:10:02 > 0:10:04from all the shouting.

0:10:04 > 0:10:07And she wondered if maybe, just maybe,

0:10:07 > 0:10:11she could try being a little bit more polite.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14So after a deep breath,

0:10:14 > 0:10:20she bent down and said in her best and most polite voice...

0:10:20 > 0:10:26"Mr Sea Urchin, could you move somewhere else?"

0:10:26 > 0:10:29"Please."

0:10:29 > 0:10:34It was the first time the fish of the seaweed queen's garden

0:10:34 > 0:10:36had heard her say please.

0:10:36 > 0:10:40And do you know what? It worked!

0:10:40 > 0:10:43"Of course," said the sea urchin.

0:10:43 > 0:10:45And he rolled off the throne.

0:10:45 > 0:10:49"Thank you," said a rather surprised Queen.

0:10:49 > 0:10:54And she looked out at all her fishy gardeners and guards and said,

0:10:54 > 0:11:01"Erm... thank you...everybody! Hmm!"

0:11:01 > 0:11:04And with that, she sat down on her throne.

0:11:04 > 0:11:08There was no shouting, no cushion throwing,

0:11:08 > 0:11:10no crowns whizzing through the air,

0:11:10 > 0:11:16just the quiet sounds of a beautiful undersea garden.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19The seaweed queen sighed a happy sigh

0:11:19 > 0:11:25and decided there and then to always say please and thank you,

0:11:25 > 0:11:29because it obviously worked wonders.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32And she gave the sea urchin a special medal

0:11:32 > 0:11:36which he proudly wore on one of his spikes for ever after.

0:11:36 > 0:11:39Wasn't that nice of her? (HE CHUCKLES)

0:11:39 > 0:11:41WHISTLE

0:11:46 > 0:11:48You like that story, Salty? Yeah?

0:11:48 > 0:11:50All true, of course.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53Mind you, my stories always are. (HE LAUGHS)

0:12:04 > 0:12:05(HE SIGHS)

0:12:05 > 0:12:09I wonder if Miss Bowline-Hitch found time to relax

0:12:09 > 0:12:11and do a bit of bird watching, eh?

0:12:11 > 0:12:13(HE CHUCKLES)

0:12:13 > 0:12:16- Well, I never! - (SHE SNORES SOFTLY)

0:12:18 > 0:12:20Well...

0:12:20 > 0:12:22Come on, Salty.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24(HE HUMS)

0:12:24 > 0:12:27- Hello there, Miss Bowline-Hitch. - Oh!

0:12:27 > 0:12:30- Ah! Jack! - Yeah. Having a quick snooze?

0:12:30 > 0:12:34Never! I was just resting my eyes.

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Oh, yes(!)

0:12:36 > 0:12:38I was doing...a bit of... bird watching.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41- Yes, that's it.- Yeah(!)

0:12:41 > 0:12:45- Have you seen any yet? (HE LAUGHS) - No, I've not.

0:12:46 > 0:12:48GULL SCREECHES

0:12:51 > 0:12:53- Oh. - (HE CHUCKLES)

0:12:53 > 0:12:57- Well, perhaps I dropped off briefly. - Yes.

0:12:57 > 0:13:00The deckchair was more comfy than I realised.

0:13:00 > 0:13:04I think you deserve a break. Everybody deserves a break.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Oh, thank you, Jack.

0:13:06 > 0:13:11You won't tell anyone. I don't want people thinking I'm not busy-busy.

0:13:11 > 0:13:15No, no, I won't tell. See you soon. (HE CHUCKLES)

0:13:15 > 0:13:18Bye, Jack. Bye, Salty.

0:13:22 > 0:13:26GULL SCREECHES

0:13:29 > 0:13:32(SHE SIGHS) Seagulls!

0:13:35 > 0:13:38Well, Salty, that's it for today.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40We'll see all our friends again next time.

0:13:40 > 0:13:45Oh, and we'll see you next time as well.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47Bye-bye.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49Come on, girl.
