0:01:40 > 0:01:42Morning, Emily!

0:01:42 > 0:01:44Emily! Where are you?

0:01:44 > 0:01:49I'm down here, Jack, trying to pick up these sweets.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51Oh! What happened?

0:01:51 > 0:01:53It's the sweet jars,

0:01:53 > 0:01:57- they keep jumping off the shelves. - What?

0:01:58 > 0:02:03Some very topsy-turvy things have been happening here today.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Wha-ha!

0:02:05 > 0:02:07You know why, don't you, Emily?

0:02:07 > 0:02:09- Why?- It's the seagulls!

0:02:09 > 0:02:11Where?

0:02:11 > 0:02:16I'm afraid your little friends are coming in through that skylight.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18- Whoa!- Shoo!

0:02:18 > 0:02:21They love perching on my sweet jars,

0:02:21 > 0:02:25but they make my shop ever so topsy-turvy.

0:02:25 > 0:02:27Yeah, come on, Salty, we'll show them.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31Go on! Go on! Emily doesn't want you

0:02:31 > 0:02:33messing up the place!

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Whoo! Whoo! Hah!

0:02:34 > 0:02:36Thanks, Jack!

0:02:36 > 0:02:43Those cheeky gulls have quite turned my shop upside down and roundabout.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Oh, I nearly forgot, have you got any humbugs?

0:02:47 > 0:02:53Of course! Oh, they're here somewhere.

0:02:53 > 0:02:57- I'll have to have a bit of a clear-up before I can find them.- No problem.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00I'll pick them up later. I've got to fix a cupboard door

0:03:00 > 0:03:04on the Rainbow. Yeah... See you later. Yeah, bye-bye.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06Bye, Jack!

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Yeah, and look out for those seagulls!

0:03:19 > 0:03:23There she is, the Rainbow!

0:03:23 > 0:03:26Well, what have you got for us today, my dear?

0:03:26 > 0:03:30Heh-heh! Come on, Salty.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32HE HUMS

0:03:32 > 0:03:33Here we are.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44Ah, now, what was I going to do?

0:03:44 > 0:03:46Yes, I know, the cupboard door,

0:03:46 > 0:03:49wasn't it? Cupboard doors...

0:03:49 > 0:03:54All that topsy-turvyness in Emily's sweetshop

0:03:54 > 0:03:59reminds me of another place where things were very topsy-turvy.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01Do you remember, Salty?

0:04:01 > 0:04:03Let me get comfortable

0:04:03 > 0:04:05and I'll tell you the story.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07This will make your ears wiggle, this will.

0:04:07 > 0:04:12Once upon a twinkly time, the Rainbow set off from Staithes,

0:04:12 > 0:04:16waved goodbye to Whitby and disappeared over the horizon.

0:04:16 > 0:04:20It was the sort of windy day that made Salty's ears flap,

0:04:20 > 0:04:24and she likes that.

0:04:24 > 0:04:28So, with a joyful howl, she rang the ship's bell.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30# Just Salty Dog and me

0:04:30 > 0:04:32# Upon the briny sea

0:04:32 > 0:04:35# A bell to ring and a song to sing

0:04:35 > 0:04:38# I wonder what the day will bring?

0:04:38 > 0:04:40# Because we'll be ready for anything

0:04:40 > 0:04:43# Just Salty Dog and me. #

0:04:43 > 0:04:49And then, all of a sudden, we heard a teriffic splash.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51"Now, there's only one creature

0:04:51 > 0:04:54"heavy enough to splash like that," I said to Salty.

0:04:54 > 0:04:59And there was our good friend Bluey the whale thrashing his tail.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02"I'm trying to fly," said Bluey.

0:05:02 > 0:05:06I've always fancied flying."

0:05:06 > 0:05:09"And I've always fancied swimming," said another voice.

0:05:09 > 0:05:12"Least of my worries today, though."

0:05:12 > 0:05:17It was Brenda, the stork. She was sitting on the Rainbow's funnel.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20"What's up, Brenda?" I called up to her.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24"I need to make some deliveries to Topsy Turvy Bay," she said,

0:05:24 > 0:05:26"but I don't know the way."

0:05:26 > 0:05:28"We'll take you!" I said.

0:05:28 > 0:05:34I picked up the map and turned it upside down and topsy-turvy.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37"You've turned it the wrong way," said Brenda.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39"Yes," I explained,

0:05:39 > 0:05:43"because in Topsy Turvy Bay, everything is the wrong way round.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46"It's all upsidey-down and downsidey-up

0:05:46 > 0:05:49"and down-rightly topsy-turvy."

0:05:49 > 0:05:52So, we chugged away, around and about

0:05:52 > 0:05:56to the topsiest-turviest bay in the world.

0:05:56 > 0:06:00"You said you wanted to swim," I said to Brenda, as we arrived,

0:06:00 > 0:06:02"and now is your chance!"

0:06:02 > 0:06:06Because, you see, in Topsy Turvy Bay,

0:06:06 > 0:06:09birds don't fly in the air,

0:06:09 > 0:06:11they swim in the sea.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14It's the fish that fly.

0:06:14 > 0:06:19"Look!" woofed Salty, as a squid flew right past the Rainbow's mast,

0:06:19 > 0:06:22his tentacles flapping like ribbons in the wind.

0:06:22 > 0:06:26"Everything's topsy-turvy here!" Brenda squawked.

0:06:26 > 0:06:28"Oh! A flying cuckoo clock!"

0:06:28 > 0:06:33And she rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

0:06:33 > 0:06:39"Cuckoo! Cuckoo! Enjoy your stay!" chimed the flying clock.

0:06:39 > 0:06:42"Welcome to Topsy Turvy Bay!

0:06:42 > 0:06:45"But don't stay more than a jiffy or two

0:06:45 > 0:06:48"or you'll be topsy-turvy too!"

0:06:48 > 0:06:51"Yes, you have to be careful," I said to Brenda.

0:06:51 > 0:06:55"We can't stay long or we'll never be able to leave."

0:06:55 > 0:06:57But Brenda wasn't listening.

0:06:57 > 0:06:59She was looking down at the ocean,

0:06:59 > 0:07:02where birds were swimming in the water.

0:07:02 > 0:07:07And before you could say 'flapping feathers', she was off to join them.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11So, we dropped anchor.

0:07:11 > 0:07:16But instead of falling downwards to the seabed,

0:07:16 > 0:07:22our anchor shot upwards into the air and lodged in a cloud above.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24It was stuck fast.

0:07:24 > 0:07:28"What happens if that cloud floats away?" I said to Salty.

0:07:28 > 0:07:30"This does," woofed Salty,

0:07:30 > 0:07:35as the Rainbow started to lift out of the water.

0:07:35 > 0:07:38"We can't stay up here!" I shouted.

0:07:38 > 0:07:41"We have to get down before time runs out

0:07:41 > 0:07:44"or we'll never be able to leave Topsy Turvy Bay!"

0:07:44 > 0:07:49And then we heard a familiar sound.

0:07:49 > 0:07:52"Hello!"

0:07:52 > 0:07:57It was Bluey, and you'll never believe what he was doing.

0:07:57 > 0:07:59He was flying in the sky!

0:07:59 > 0:08:03He'd followed us to Topsy Turvy Bay.

0:08:03 > 0:08:05"I'm flying!" he shouted.

0:08:05 > 0:08:07"Yes, and so are we," I said.

0:08:07 > 0:08:12"Our anchor is stuck in that cloud and we need to get it down quickly

0:08:12 > 0:08:14"or we'll never get home."

0:08:14 > 0:08:17Salty looked at the cuckoo clock again.

0:08:17 > 0:08:21"Time is running out," it said.

0:08:21 > 0:08:22"You've got to get away

0:08:22 > 0:08:27"or here, in Topsy Turvy Bay, you'll all have to stay."

0:08:27 > 0:08:32And then Salty rang the bell loudly to call Brenda.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35"Brenda, we need to go!" I shouted to her.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38But Brenda couldn't hear me.

0:08:38 > 0:08:44She was busy under the water, having a lovely time swimming.

0:08:44 > 0:08:50"We need to get the Rainbow down fast," I said.

0:08:50 > 0:08:54Then Salty's whiskers started whiffling.

0:08:54 > 0:08:57She was having one of her bright ideas.

0:08:57 > 0:09:03She barked to Bluey and told him to land on the cloud.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05"Why?" said Bluey.

0:09:05 > 0:09:08Suddenly, I realised what Salty was thinking.

0:09:08 > 0:09:14"Because you are heavy, you'll float the cloud down out of the sky

0:09:14 > 0:09:18"and that means the Rainbow will get down too," I called. "Quick!"

0:09:18 > 0:09:25So we watched as Bluey jumped softly onto the cloud.

0:09:25 > 0:09:32The cloud started to lower gently down, down towards the water,

0:09:32 > 0:09:35and so did the anchor, and so did the Rainbow.

0:09:35 > 0:09:36It was working.

0:09:36 > 0:09:42"Wee!" called Bluey, as the cloud and the Rainbow gently floated down

0:09:42 > 0:09:45and landed on the water,

0:09:45 > 0:09:47where Brenda was splashing about happily.

0:09:47 > 0:09:50"Get on the cloud, Brenda," Bluey called,

0:09:50 > 0:09:54"or you'll be stuck in Topsy Turvy Bay forever."

0:09:54 > 0:09:58So, faster than a flying fish,

0:09:58 > 0:10:03Brenda launched herself out of the water and onto the cloud.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06"Release the anchor!" I called to her.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08And with a peck and a pinch of her beak,

0:10:08 > 0:10:13she managed to unstick the stuck anchor.

0:10:13 > 0:10:15Then Bluey flew off the cloud

0:10:15 > 0:10:20and it floated back into the sky with Brenda on board.

0:10:20 > 0:10:21"You won't be able to fly

0:10:21 > 0:10:25"until we're out of the bay, Brenda!" I shouted.

0:10:25 > 0:10:26"There's no time to lose!"

0:10:26 > 0:10:31And we headed full pelt out of the bay with Bluey flying above,

0:10:31 > 0:10:35nudging Brenda and the cloud along with his nose.

0:10:35 > 0:10:39And just as the cuckoo clock chimed, "Time's up, time's up!"

0:10:39 > 0:10:45we all made it out of the bay and back into normal waters.

0:10:45 > 0:10:51"I can fly again," said Brenda, as she gently flew off the cloud.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53"And I can't," said Bluey,

0:10:53 > 0:10:58falling back into the sea with a huge splash.

0:10:58 > 0:11:04"Thank you!" called Brenda, as she flapped her way into the distance.

0:11:04 > 0:11:07"I'm off to tell everyone I've flown for the day,"

0:11:07 > 0:11:10said Bluey, as he swam home.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12"Well, Salty," I said,

0:11:12 > 0:11:18"I think we've had enough excitement to send us both topsy-turvy!

0:11:18 > 0:11:23"How about we go home and have a nice cup of tea?"

0:11:23 > 0:11:26So, Salty settled down on the deck

0:11:26 > 0:11:29as I turned the map the right way round

0:11:29 > 0:11:35and set our course for Staithes and home.

0:11:35 > 0:11:39It's all very well, but you wouldn't want to be topsy-turvy

0:11:39 > 0:11:42all the time, would you? Bye-Bye.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51Did you like that story, Salty?

0:11:51 > 0:11:52All true, of course.

0:11:52 > 0:11:56Mind you, my stories always are!

0:11:57 > 0:11:59Oh, look!

0:12:01 > 0:12:04Come on, girl.

0:12:17 > 0:12:21Hey-hey, Emily! Still keeping a lookout for those seagulls?

0:12:21 > 0:12:25Oh, yes, Jack! The trouble is, I've been sitting here for so long,

0:12:25 > 0:12:28I haven't had time to serve in the shop.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30No, and I suppose if you move from here,

0:12:30 > 0:12:34them cheeky seagulls will come back and perch on your jars again.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37- Yes. I don't know what I'm going to do.- No.

0:12:37 > 0:12:39SALTY BARKS

0:12:39 > 0:12:42Do you know, that might just work, Salty!

0:12:42 > 0:12:45Good girl!

0:12:45 > 0:12:46What's that, Jack?

0:12:46 > 0:12:49Here, just take these outside. What a good idea!

0:12:49 > 0:12:52- Come on.- OK, I'll try anything once.

0:12:52 > 0:12:53Come on, Emily.

0:12:56 > 0:12:58There they are.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03SEAGULLS CAW

0:13:06 > 0:13:07Success!

0:13:07 > 0:13:10- Hee-hee!- Ho-ho! Come on!

0:13:10 > 0:13:14Ha-ha! Well done, Salty!

0:13:14 > 0:13:17It worked, didn't it? Yeah! Those seagulls won't want to

0:13:17 > 0:13:21come in here any more. They've their own jars outside to perch on!

0:13:21 > 0:13:24Oh, that's brilliant, Jack! Thank you so much.

0:13:24 > 0:13:26And thank you, Salty!

0:13:26 > 0:13:28SALTY BARKS

0:13:37 > 0:13:40Well, Salty, that's it for the day.

0:13:40 > 0:13:43We'll see all our friends again next time.

0:13:43 > 0:13:48Oh, and we'll see you next time, as well! Bye-bye!

0:13:48 > 0:13:51Come on, girl!
