0:01:46 > 0:01:50Oh, it's a windy old day today, Salty. Look at that windsock!

0:01:50 > 0:01:54I've never seen it flapping around as much as that.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58Ho-ho! There goes Sam in a hurry!

0:01:59 > 0:02:03What's she doing out on a day like this?

0:02:03 > 0:02:05ERNIE GRUNTS

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Ho! It's a windy old day today!

0:02:13 > 0:02:16- Hi, Sam!- What's been going on here?

0:02:16 > 0:02:20This old window blew open in the night and the wind has caused...

0:02:20 > 0:02:24Complete chaos! I can see.

0:02:24 > 0:02:28I wanted a cup of tea, but the cafe is closed due to windy conditions.

0:02:28 > 0:02:29Oh, dear.

0:02:29 > 0:02:33Not to worry, though. We have teabags here, haven't we?

0:02:33 > 0:02:35Somewhere.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43- Ha, here we are!- Yay!

0:02:46 > 0:02:47- Empty.- Oh!

0:02:47 > 0:02:50I'm sure this was a full tea caddy.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52- It must have... - Blown over in the night?

0:02:52 > 0:02:54Never mind. I'll call Jack.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56He'll have some tea on board the Rainbow.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05Hello, Jack? Sam to Jack?

0:03:06 > 0:03:07Can you hear me?

0:03:11 > 0:03:12Nothing!

0:03:12 > 0:03:15I'm sure it was working yesterday.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Not to worry, I'll get over to the Rainbow and see Jack.

0:03:27 > 0:03:31Well, Salty, at least the boiler's working.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34We'll be nice and warm in here.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37- Hello, Jack!- Hello, Sam! What can I do for you?

0:03:37 > 0:03:40I need a cup of tea. Cafe's closed and we've lost our teabags.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43And you thought I might have some?

0:03:43 > 0:03:47Yes! We tried the speaking tube, but it's not working.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49Nothing's working today.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Well, it's been a wasted trip, I'm afraid.

0:03:51 > 0:03:56- I've run out of teabags, as well! - Oh, no! I need a cup of tea!

0:03:56 > 0:04:00Never mind, back to the workshop! We'll find those lost teabags!

0:04:00 > 0:04:05- See you later, Jack!- See you, yeah. Oh, dear, it's a catastrophe.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07It's a good job you don't drink tea!

0:04:07 > 0:04:11Honestly, we'd never have any teabags any old time.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18That windsock! It looks fit to fly off its pole.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Oh, dear me!

0:04:22 > 0:04:28Here, do you remember the time the windsock did fly off its pole?

0:04:28 > 0:04:32That was an adventure and a half, that was!

0:04:32 > 0:04:37Here, let me get comfortable and I'll tell you the story.

0:04:37 > 0:04:42Once upon a twinkly time, the Rainbow set off from Staithes,

0:04:42 > 0:04:47waved goodbye to Whitby and disappeared over the horizon.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51It was a windy day and as we sailed, we sang.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53# Just Salty Dog and me

0:04:53 > 0:04:55# Upon the briny sea

0:04:55 > 0:04:58# The breeze is up and the waves are high

0:04:58 > 0:05:00# The clouds are scudding across the sky

0:05:00 > 0:05:02# The wind is a-blowing

0:05:02 > 0:05:04# At least it's not snowing

0:05:04 > 0:05:06# On Salty Dog and me. #

0:05:06 > 0:05:08Ha-ha!

0:05:08 > 0:05:13Our old friend Brenda the stork was blown by, backwards!

0:05:13 > 0:05:17"Hold on to your hat, Brenda!" I called.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20I peered through my trusty telescope

0:05:20 > 0:05:22at the orange windsock back in Staithes

0:05:22 > 0:05:26to see which way the wind was blowing.

0:05:26 > 0:05:29It was flapping and snapping on its pole.

0:05:29 > 0:05:32"That wind is blowing so hard, Salty," I said,

0:05:32 > 0:05:35"it looks like the windsock might take off."

0:05:35 > 0:05:38And, with that, would you believe what happened?

0:05:38 > 0:05:40The windsock went, whoosh!

0:05:40 > 0:05:44It was blown off its pole and up into the sky, wasn't it?

0:05:44 > 0:05:48Yes, it danced on the wind and with a fluttery flap,

0:05:48 > 0:05:53it bumped into Brenda and toppled off her hat.

0:05:53 > 0:05:57"Not again!" screeched Brenda, as she looped the loop.

0:05:57 > 0:06:01We watched the windsock flapping free on the wind until, splish!

0:06:01 > 0:06:05It dived into the sea.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08Well, we knew we had to get that windsock back,

0:06:08 > 0:06:12so before you could say "flappity fishcakes",

0:06:12 > 0:06:14we were under the water.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18We looked everywhere for the windsock.

0:06:18 > 0:06:21Suddenly, a flash of orange whizzed past.

0:06:21 > 0:06:25"There!" barked Salty, as she raced off after it.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28The windsock darted this way and that,

0:06:28 > 0:06:31zipping and flipping through the water.

0:06:31 > 0:06:34"Mind my light!" cried Angela the anglerfish

0:06:34 > 0:06:36as the windsock whooshed her into a cartwheel.

0:06:36 > 0:06:41"And mind my music stand!" piped Percy the pipefish

0:06:41 > 0:06:43as the windsock crashed into him.

0:06:43 > 0:06:49The windsock whipped and flipped and dipped and zipped through the water.

0:06:49 > 0:06:52"Look out, Harold!" cried Mrs Cod.

0:06:52 > 0:06:57"Yes, dear," said Mr Cod, ducking as the windsock whistled past.

0:06:57 > 0:07:01Salty and I couldn't keep up as the windsock

0:07:01 > 0:07:04headed for the gardener fish's garden.

0:07:04 > 0:07:09"My vegetables!" yelled the gardener fish, as it swept through his patch.

0:07:09 > 0:07:14Then that naughty windsock tipped up a wheelbarrow,

0:07:14 > 0:07:19which upturned a bucket, spilling sea beans all over the place.

0:07:19 > 0:07:24The whole sea was in a tizzly, hubbuby hullabaloo.

0:07:24 > 0:07:27And all because of the little windsock

0:07:27 > 0:07:30who was still splashing and crashing through the water.

0:07:30 > 0:07:35Even Salty doesn't cause that much trouble when she goes swimming!

0:07:35 > 0:07:40And then we heard an echoing "Too-doo!"

0:07:40 > 0:07:45CONCH HONKS

0:07:45 > 0:07:48It was the sound of the Sea King's conch.

0:07:48 > 0:07:51He was calling an emergency meeting.

0:07:51 > 0:07:57Everyone gathered around the Sea King's golden throne, as he boomed,

0:07:57 > 0:08:01"The sea is in a tizzly, hubbuby hullabaloo.

0:08:01 > 0:08:04"We must stop this orange fish!"

0:08:04 > 0:08:06"Your Majesty," I said with a bow,

0:08:06 > 0:08:09"it's not a fish, it's a windsock.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12"A sock that flaps in the wind."

0:08:12 > 0:08:17"Then we must return it to the wind where it belongs," he replied.

0:08:17 > 0:08:18"But how?"

0:08:18 > 0:08:22And that's when Salty's whiskers started whiffling.

0:08:22 > 0:08:26She was having one of her bright ideas!

0:08:26 > 0:08:30She raced back to the Rainbow and, in two shakes of her tail,

0:08:30 > 0:08:34she was back with one of my finest fishing nets.

0:08:34 > 0:08:39"Good thinking, Salty! We can catch the windsock in the net."

0:08:39 > 0:08:41Fred and Charlie Squid had popped over

0:08:41 > 0:08:45to find out what the fuss was about and were keen to help.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47"Here! Hold this!" I said,

0:08:47 > 0:08:51and they held out the net wide across the sea.

0:08:51 > 0:08:54"We'll shoo the windsock into the net,

0:08:54 > 0:08:57"but who's fast enough to keep up with it?"

0:08:57 > 0:09:01"Me, me! I'm the fastest fish in the sea!" came a voice.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04Yes, it was Speedy. He elbowed his way to the front.

0:09:04 > 0:09:07"I'm ready for my mission!"

0:09:07 > 0:09:09He saluted and then,

0:09:09 > 0:09:11leaving a trail of whizzy bubbles,

0:09:11 > 0:09:14he shot off after the windsock.

0:09:14 > 0:09:18"Whoosh," went the windsock. "Swoosh," went Speedy.

0:09:18 > 0:09:20The race was on.

0:09:20 > 0:09:24Speedy chased the windsock through the sea at lightning speed.

0:09:24 > 0:09:28Through the gardener's garden they went, past the piping Percy

0:09:28 > 0:09:31and in and out of the seaweed and the rocks,

0:09:31 > 0:09:33but Speedy was very clever

0:09:33 > 0:09:37and soon, the windsock was heading straight for the net.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40"Get ready, Fred and Charlie!" I yelled,

0:09:40 > 0:09:42"Hold the net high!"

0:09:42 > 0:09:45Salty and I watched as Speedy chased the windsock

0:09:45 > 0:09:48closer and closer to the net.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50Nearly there!

0:09:50 > 0:09:53But then the windsock flipped and slipped under a shipwreck,

0:09:53 > 0:09:57missing the net completely.

0:09:57 > 0:10:00"No!" we all cried.

0:10:00 > 0:10:04Speedy was so busy speeding, he didn't notice and, whoosh,

0:10:04 > 0:10:06he flew straight into the net.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08R-R-R-Rip!

0:10:08 > 0:10:13He tore an enormous hole in the net as he shot through.

0:10:13 > 0:10:17Meanwhile, the windsock whizzed out from under the wreck

0:10:17 > 0:10:21and stopped at the top of a sea tree.

0:10:21 > 0:10:23"Woof!" Salty barked,

0:10:23 > 0:10:27to let Speedy know the windsock was now behind him.

0:10:27 > 0:10:32Speedy turned around and shot back through the hole in the net and...

0:10:32 > 0:10:35Slurp!

0:10:35 > 0:10:40..he caught the windsock on the end of his long nose!

0:10:40 > 0:10:44"Whey-hey!" I applauded. "You caught the windsock, Speedy, well done!"

0:10:44 > 0:10:46"Don't mention it," he replied.

0:10:46 > 0:10:49I peeled the windsock off Speedy's nose

0:10:49 > 0:10:53and stuffed it in my pocket for safekeeping. Ha-ha!

0:10:53 > 0:10:57"We'd better get this windsock back to where it belongs," I called,

0:10:57 > 0:11:01as the Sea King waved us a thankful goodbye.

0:11:01 > 0:11:05We made our way back to the Rainbow, who was waiting for us,

0:11:05 > 0:11:09patiently bobbing in the windy sea.

0:11:09 > 0:11:11"Let's go back to Staithes, Salty.

0:11:11 > 0:11:14"I've had enough adventures for one day," I said.

0:11:14 > 0:11:19We set our course for the horizon and home.

0:11:19 > 0:11:21When we got back into the harbour,

0:11:21 > 0:11:24we put the windsock back on its pole.

0:11:24 > 0:11:26Which is where it is now,

0:11:26 > 0:11:30flapping in the breeze where windsocks belong

0:11:30 > 0:11:33for everyone to see.

0:11:36 > 0:11:42I don't know about you, Salty, but I could do with a nice cup of tea.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45I wonder if Sam and Ernie have found the teabags yet?

0:11:45 > 0:11:49Jack calling Ernie!

0:11:49 > 0:11:52Jack calling Ernie!

0:11:52 > 0:11:54Nothing.

0:11:54 > 0:11:56Oh, no, of course, silly me!

0:11:56 > 0:11:58They said it wasn't working.

0:11:58 > 0:12:00I wonder why.

0:12:00 > 0:12:05You know what, Salty? I reckon that's blocked.

0:12:05 > 0:12:09And I've just had an idea how we can clear this old thing.

0:12:09 > 0:12:13Leave it to me, I'll show 'em!

0:12:17 > 0:12:20- No sign of those teabags, Sam. - Keep looking!

0:12:24 > 0:12:28WIND HOWLS

0:12:31 > 0:12:34AIR HISSES

0:12:36 > 0:12:39Can you hear something?

0:12:39 > 0:12:42Yes, it's coming from the speaking tube.

0:12:47 > 0:12:51Now we can use the wind for some good, Salty, old girl.

0:12:51 > 0:12:56Whatever's blocking this speaking tube will be blown out by the gale.

0:12:56 > 0:13:00It sounds like rushing air.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03Or somebody trying to clear their throat.

0:13:03 > 0:13:05- Oh!- Oh!

0:13:05 > 0:13:09Teabags! All our teabags!

0:13:09 > 0:13:13They must have got jammed in there last night by the wind.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15'Jack to Ernie!'

0:13:15 > 0:13:18Jack to Ernie! Come in!

0:13:18 > 0:13:21Hearing you loud and clear! It's a miracle!

0:13:21 > 0:13:27The speaking tube's unblocked and we've found the teabags! Ha-ha!

0:13:27 > 0:13:29Marvellous news!

0:13:29 > 0:13:32I knew this wind wouldn't stop us!

0:13:32 > 0:13:35Get over here and I'll get the kettle on!

0:13:35 > 0:13:37'Sam, you're going to get your cup'

0:13:37 > 0:13:39of tea after all! Ha-ha!

0:13:39 > 0:13:41Over and out.
