0:04:18 > 0:04:23Got ourselves in a proper tangle with Emily's knitting, didn't we?

0:04:23 > 0:04:26What I need now is a nice cup of tea.

0:04:28 > 0:04:32You know, Emily, she knitted this lovely tea cosy, as well.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35I seem to remember there's a story behind it.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39Let me get myself comfortable, see if I can remember it.

0:04:39 > 0:04:40Oh, yes, Salty.

0:04:40 > 0:04:45This will give you icicles on your whiskers, this one will.

0:04:45 > 0:04:49Once upon a twinkly time, The Rainbow set off from Staithes,

0:04:49 > 0:04:52waved goodbye to Whitby

0:04:52 > 0:04:55and disappeared over the horizon.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58Emily given us both knitted scarves

0:04:58 > 0:05:01and this lovely knitted tea cosy.

0:05:01 > 0:05:06I was just admiring it, when Salty pointed her nose to the sky -

0:05:06 > 0:05:09something was flapping towards us.

0:05:09 > 0:05:13It was a bird with pretty feathers,

0:05:13 > 0:05:15squawking loudly.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17"Parrot, ahoy!" woofed Salty.

0:05:17 > 0:05:21And it landed on the deck. "Hello," I said.

0:05:21 > 0:05:25"This is Salty, and I'm Jack. Welcome aboard The Rainbow."

0:05:25 > 0:05:30"Treasure! Treasure! My name is Treasure!" the parrot squawked.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33"Where are you going today, Salty and Jack?"

0:05:33 > 0:05:37"We're off to see the southern lights of Antarctica," I said.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40"Pretty colours that flash across the sky.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42"Why don't you come along?"

0:05:42 > 0:05:48"Pretty colours, for a pretty parrot," squawked Treasure.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51So we set our course for the cold of Antarctica

0:05:51 > 0:05:54and we sang a little song.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56And Treasure joined in!

0:05:56 > 0:05:59- # Just Salty dog and me - And me!

0:05:59 > 0:06:02- # Upon the briny sea - The sea!

0:06:02 > 0:06:05# A special guest has a feathery chest

0:06:05 > 0:06:08# She is ever so talky and squeaky and squawky

0:06:08 > 0:06:11- # Just Salty dog and me. # - And Treasure!

0:06:11 > 0:06:12Right.

0:06:14 > 0:06:18Now, Treasure was a very loud parrot.

0:06:18 > 0:06:20She landed on my head

0:06:20 > 0:06:23and she started to give Salty lots of orders.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25"Sit!" said Treasure.

0:06:25 > 0:06:27"Lie down! Roll over!"

0:06:27 > 0:06:33Well, Salty sighed... A deep doggy sigh - "Urrrhh!"

0:06:35 > 0:06:39"I wish this parrot wasn't quite so loud," she whispered.

0:06:39 > 0:06:45We looked out over the sea and we saw huge jaggedy ice mountains.

0:06:47 > 0:06:49We were in Antarctica!

0:06:50 > 0:06:54Well, the weather got colder and quite suddenly

0:06:54 > 0:06:57there was a "whoosh" and a "wheee"

0:06:57 > 0:07:00and a very sideways gust of wind

0:07:00 > 0:07:03blew little Tresasure away -

0:07:03 > 0:07:05"Waaaaahhhh!"

0:07:05 > 0:07:08"What's happened to our little Treasure?" I said.

0:07:08 > 0:07:12She had disappeared, leaving only one yellow feather.

0:07:12 > 0:07:15I called out, "Treasure? Treasure?"

0:07:15 > 0:07:19over the waves but there was no reply.

0:07:19 > 0:07:21And then in the distance,

0:07:21 > 0:07:25we saw a very familiar ship -

0:07:25 > 0:07:27The Hurly-burly.

0:07:27 > 0:07:29"Ahoy, my hearties!"

0:07:29 > 0:07:32Yeah, it was Kitty Cutlass,

0:07:32 > 0:07:36the trickiest pirate to sail the seven seas.

0:07:36 > 0:07:38Her eyes twinkled as she called out,

0:07:38 > 0:07:41"Did somebody say treasure?"

0:07:41 > 0:07:44"Yes, we've lost our Treasure!" I replied.

0:07:44 > 0:07:47"You'll have to search for treasure," said Kitty.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50And with that she climbed aboard The Rainbow.

0:07:50 > 0:07:55She reached into her top pocket and she took out her magic map.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59"She thinks you've lost real treasure," Salty whispered.

0:07:59 > 0:08:01"Not a parrot called Treasure."

0:08:01 > 0:08:03"Shh!" I said.

0:08:03 > 0:08:08"Perhaps she'll help us find our little parrot."

0:08:08 > 0:08:13So, I put the feather on the map and Kitty said,

0:08:13 > 0:08:16"Magic map, zuzzy-zuzzy-zuzzy-zurh!

0:08:16 > 0:08:21"Show us where my Jack's treasure is."

0:08:21 > 0:08:25Well, the feather, it spun around wildly,

0:08:25 > 0:08:28and then it stopped with its tip pointing to a place

0:08:28 > 0:08:32right in the centre of the frozen Antarctic.

0:08:32 > 0:08:36"I'm off to get your treasure," Kitty cackled.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38She leapt over the side of the rainbow

0:08:38 > 0:08:40and set off into the icy blue.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43"Come and, let's follow," I shouted to Salty,

0:08:43 > 0:08:46as we put on our knitted scarves.

0:08:46 > 0:08:49"It's going to be very cold, I can't go without tea," I said.

0:08:49 > 0:08:53So, I pulled a sledge with a teapot and the cosy on it,

0:08:53 > 0:08:59and we sneaked behind Kitty, following her, to find our Treasure.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01Well, the wind it blew and blew.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04It swirled all the snow around...

0:09:04 > 0:09:10It was like walking in a giant snow globe that's been shaken up.

0:09:10 > 0:09:13Well, soon, Kitty was out of sight.

0:09:13 > 0:09:16Salty and I tried to keep together,

0:09:16 > 0:09:18but it was very hard to see him

0:09:18 > 0:09:21and before we knew it we got split up.

0:09:21 > 0:09:26I was left staggering against the wind, lonely and lost.

0:09:26 > 0:09:28Salty!

0:09:28 > 0:09:31Salty! Come on, girl!

0:09:31 > 0:09:35"I'm never going to see my Salty dog again," I thought.

0:09:35 > 0:09:38Then suddenly, there was a squawk,

0:09:38 > 0:09:42"Treasure! Treasure!"

0:09:42 > 0:09:45I stumbled towards the squawk in the swirling storm.

0:09:45 > 0:09:49I came to a small rocky outcrop

0:09:49 > 0:09:52where Treasure was sitting shivering.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54"Treasure!" I cried.

0:09:54 > 0:09:59And who should I see next to her, but my lovely Salty dog.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02She had found Treasure.

0:10:02 > 0:10:04Clever Salty!

0:10:04 > 0:10:08Well, I looked at the little shivering parrot,

0:10:08 > 0:10:11"We need to get you warm," I said.

0:10:11 > 0:10:17So I took my tea cosy off the teapot and put it on Treasure.

0:10:17 > 0:10:23"Cosy!" she squawked. "Thank you. Cosy, cosy!"

0:10:23 > 0:10:26"Now we need to find Kitty," I said.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29Squawk your loudest squawk, Treasure!

0:10:29 > 0:10:31With warmed up wings,

0:10:31 > 0:10:34Treasure squawked loudly through the icy storm.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37"Treasure! Treasure!"

0:10:37 > 0:10:40"Where's that treasure?" shouted Kitty,

0:10:40 > 0:10:43as she staggered towards us cold as an ice mountain.

0:10:43 > 0:10:47"My name's Treasure!" squawked the parrot.

0:10:49 > 0:10:51"A parrot?!" gasped Kitty.

0:10:51 > 0:10:54"That's not REAL treasure!"

0:10:54 > 0:10:56"She really is a treasure," I said.

0:10:56 > 0:11:00"She's kept us all together in this terrible storm."

0:11:00 > 0:11:03And I handed Kitty a nice warm cup of tea.

0:11:04 > 0:11:09The storm was beginning to blow itself out and the sky was clearing.

0:11:09 > 0:11:10Beautiful swirls

0:11:10 > 0:11:13of purple, green and red lights

0:11:13 > 0:11:14danced before us.

0:11:14 > 0:11:18"The Southern lights!" I cried.

0:11:18 > 0:11:20"Pretty sky!" squawked Treasure.

0:11:20 > 0:11:24And Kitty, who had warmed up now, said,

0:11:24 > 0:11:28"I must say, you are a very pretty parrot."

0:11:28 > 0:11:30Treasure seemed to like Kitty.

0:11:30 > 0:11:34"You're a pretty pirate," she told Kitty!

0:11:34 > 0:11:37Well, now the storm had died down

0:11:37 > 0:11:39and we had warmed up.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42It was time to return to The Rainbow.

0:11:42 > 0:11:46And once we were safely on board, Treasure invited us all

0:11:46 > 0:11:49to her home in sunny Brazil.

0:11:49 > 0:11:52"Well, not today, I'm afraid," I said.

0:11:52 > 0:11:54"We need to get back to Staithes."

0:11:54 > 0:11:59"I'll sail you to Brazil on The Hurly-burly," Kitty said.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03"Pretty pirate!" squawked Treasure happily.

0:12:03 > 0:12:07And she bounced on Kitty's hat.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09So, we said our goodbyes

0:12:09 > 0:12:13and as The Hurly-burly disappeared over the horizon,

0:12:13 > 0:12:17we could hear Treasure squawking at Kitty,

0:12:17 > 0:12:21"Sit down! Lie down! Roll over!"

0:12:23 > 0:12:26"Kitty is going to be kept busy," I chuckled.

0:12:26 > 0:12:30And with the knitted tea cosy back on my teapot again,

0:12:30 > 0:12:36we set our course for Staithes and home.

0:12:36 > 0:12:41And there's nothing like a nice cup of tea when you get home, is there?

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Did you like that story, Salty?

0:12:48 > 0:12:50All true, of course.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52Mind you, my stories always are.

0:12:52 > 0:12:54OLD JACK CACKLES

0:12:54 > 0:12:56Come on.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Hi, Emily. How's my jumper?

0:13:06 > 0:13:09Have you managed to save it?

0:13:09 > 0:13:12It's saved, all right - thanks to Salty!

0:13:12 > 0:13:15What do you mean, thanks to Salty?

0:13:15 > 0:13:17What did she do?

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Oh! Oh...!

0:13:19 > 0:13:23You unwound just the right amount of rows, Salty!

0:13:23 > 0:13:27You know, I think she knew what she was doing.

0:13:27 > 0:13:31You can't beat a bit of teamwork, can you, Salty?

0:13:31 > 0:13:33I love it, Emily.

0:13:33 > 0:13:36Do you know, this'd keep me warm in the Antarctic!

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Oh, you, "in the Antarctic"...!

0:13:38 > 0:13:41- I don't know...! - Thanks, Em.
