0:05:55 > 0:05:58- You do the chickens here. - I have a fear of chickens.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Chickens aren't his favourite animal.

0:06:00 > 0:06:03He's a bit slower than Rachel, for example.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05We can't afford for you to have much longer.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08- I'll be two-to-five minutes more. - Fine!

0:06:08 > 0:06:10So, you handle the cockatoos

0:06:25 > 0:06:28- It looks like we have a leader here. That's good, isn't it?- Who?

0:06:28 > 0:06:30- What d'you mean, "Who?" - Who's the leader?

0:06:30 > 0:06:31Rachel, obviously.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Poo, in the yellow bin.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35- Not really.- Tej, you can't still

0:06:43 > 0:06:44'Let's leave them to cool off

0:06:44 > 0:06:47'while we see Giulia, Ysabel and Sam in the dog room.'

0:06:47 > 0:06:50"Extreme Pet Practice fact sheet info."

0:06:50 > 0:06:52'For their Pet Practice, they have to...'

0:06:55 > 0:06:57'Another tough task!'

0:06:57 > 0:06:59- That is five animals.- Hello, Mollie!

0:06:59 > 0:07:00How will we do that?

0:07:00 > 0:07:02We need to clean their water out.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04'I've spotted some dog wee on the cushion.

0:07:04 > 0:07:05'This needs to be dealt with.'

0:07:05 > 0:07:07They could put another fish in there!

0:07:07 > 0:07:09'It wouldn't last long swimming in wee, though!

0:07:09 > 0:07:12'I wonder who made that piddle puddle?

0:07:12 > 0:07:16'Someone hasn't let him out for a walk. Big mistake, Pet Heads!'

0:07:18 > 0:07:20They had to do a wee, didn't they?

0:07:20 > 0:07:22'It's not their fault, Giulia.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24'You need to soak up the wee with paper towels,

0:07:24 > 0:07:27'then wash the cushion with non-smelly washing powder.

0:07:27 > 0:07:28'Not the best of jobs, girls.

0:07:28 > 0:07:30'Reena may have something to say about this!

0:07:30 > 0:07:33'Sam's going to sort out Layla and Misty.'

0:07:33 > 0:07:34What have you two been up to?

0:07:34 > 0:07:36A complete mess.

0:07:39 > 0:07:40I'm almost done.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Layla's making MORE work for Sam.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46Giulia and Ysabel have already moved on to the small furries room.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49I'll have to put this down cos I'll have to clean it.

0:07:49 > 0:07:53- You need to get it down? - Don't tilt it!- I won't tilt it.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02Wait! The rat, the rat, the rat!

0:08:02 > 0:08:03Someone wants to explore.

0:08:03 > 0:08:05Guys, I've got the disinfectant.

0:08:05 > 0:08:07Rodents have sensitive noses,

0:08:07 > 0:08:10so make sure the disinfectant isn't strong-smelling.

0:08:12 > 0:08:16- OK.- Wait, we have to put the lid on.

0:08:16 > 0:08:18Wow! Top teamwork,

0:08:18 > 0:08:20and ahead of schedule.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22I think we should tidy up.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24Yeah. You HAVE made a bit of a mess, Pet Heads.

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Reena won't be happy.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28In the woods, Liam, Micah and Chris are meeting Reena

0:08:28 > 0:08:31and Leo, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

0:08:31 > 0:08:34I bet you guys are excited to spend this time with Leo?

0:08:34 > 0:08:36ALL: Yeah!

0:08:36 > 0:08:37What's this Pet Practice all about?

0:08:40 > 0:08:41Leo!

0:08:41 > 0:08:43Liam's confident, he's straight in there.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45- Sit!- High-five?

0:08:45 > 0:08:46Well done!

0:08:46 > 0:08:49Micah? Not so much.

0:08:49 > 0:08:52I wasn't really that scared. I may have looked it.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55Why are you pulling your hand out the way? That's not fair.

0:08:55 > 0:08:56Time for some exercise, then.

0:08:56 > 0:09:01The amount of exercise a dog needs depends on its age and health.

0:09:01 > 0:09:03It also varies on the individual dog.

0:09:03 > 0:09:04Just because it's bigger,

0:09:04 > 0:09:08doesn't mean it needs more walking than a smaller dog.

0:09:08 > 0:09:13Back at the coop, how's Tej coping with the chickens... and Rachel?

0:09:13 > 0:09:14They haven't got long left.

0:09:14 > 0:09:17We've now almost completed two animals each...

0:09:17 > 0:09:19and he's done one animal.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21Rachel, where's the chicken food?

0:09:21 > 0:09:23I said I'd help you.

0:09:23 > 0:09:25I didn't say I'd be at your beck and call every time

0:09:25 > 0:09:26you can't find something.

0:09:26 > 0:09:28I'm not your slave,

0:09:28 > 0:09:32to do your work for you when you can't be bothered.

0:09:32 > 0:09:35Rachel, Rachel! Rachel!

0:09:35 > 0:09:38Rachel's always saying, "Tej, you have to speed up.

0:09:38 > 0:09:41"You're going so slow - look how fast we're going."

0:09:41 > 0:09:43I've never had a pet before.

0:09:43 > 0:09:44Good point, mate.

0:09:44 > 0:09:47It's not just Rachel losing patience with Tej today, though.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49Do you know how this works?

0:09:49 > 0:09:51One, you have it the wrong way...

0:09:51 > 0:09:52Ah!

0:09:52 > 0:09:55What you do is, you fill it up,

0:09:55 > 0:09:56upside down,

0:09:56 > 0:09:59and then you fold it on top.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01Tej?! Are me and Sophie the only people trying?

0:10:01 > 0:10:02You're not trying at all!

0:10:02 > 0:10:04Thanks for that(!) I'll take that on board.

0:10:04 > 0:10:08Poor Tej. He's having a rough old time on this one.

0:10:08 > 0:10:10Back in the small furries area,

0:10:10 > 0:10:14Reena's come to inspect Giulia, Ysabel and Sam's work.

0:10:14 > 0:10:15How did this even happen?

0:10:15 > 0:10:17Did everything get cleaned? ALL: Yeah.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20Did all the animals get cleaned

0:10:20 > 0:10:22and fed? ALL: Yes!

0:10:22 > 0:10:23So that part got done...

0:10:23 > 0:10:26but you've just left an absolute disaster zone...

0:10:26 > 0:10:28It's fair to say she's less then happy.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30Sam can do the dog wee.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33I will come back and check... in ten minutes.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36In their attempts to get the Pet Practice done super-quick,

0:10:36 > 0:10:38they have made a pig's ear of it all.

0:10:38 > 0:10:39No offence to pigs!

0:10:41 > 0:10:43With a bit of elbow grease, the team finally

0:10:43 > 0:10:48complete their Pet Practice... properly, this time.

0:10:48 > 0:10:52Back in the woods, Chris is doing OK with Leo the rescue dog,

0:10:52 > 0:10:54but Staffordshire Bull Terriers are strong

0:10:54 > 0:10:57and he could easily lose control.

0:10:57 > 0:10:59Leo? If you get him, he might go through.

0:11:00 > 0:11:03There you go, look! Spoke too soon!

0:11:03 > 0:11:05The dog jumped the fence and he tripped over!

0:11:05 > 0:11:08I smashed into the fence and I've dropped the leash.

0:11:08 > 0:11:10- I got the leash again! - Well done, Liam.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12This is why we had to keep hold of that lead really tight,

0:11:12 > 0:11:16because if he slipped it - you're lucky you caught him that time.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19Every single time we gave the dog to somebody else,

0:11:19 > 0:11:22the dog will go, "Right, I've got somebody else,

0:11:22 > 0:11:25"he doesn't know my power - let's go run."

0:11:25 > 0:11:29Holy-moly, this is a very powerful dog!

0:11:29 > 0:11:32I've been looking everywhere for you lot! So, who reckons

0:11:32 > 0:11:33they'll be able to handle Leo as a pet?

0:11:33 > 0:11:37I just feel like the Staff has got too much power

0:11:37 > 0:11:40- for me to handle.- Really good point, isn't it, Aaron?- It is.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44That we get a dog that's appropriate for what we can give him.

0:11:44 > 0:11:48- Liam? Honesty...- I was handling the dog when I was walking it.

0:11:48 > 0:11:52I was giving it the treats when it did something well.

0:11:52 > 0:11:56I think the lads did OK, but they need to think hard about whether

0:11:56 > 0:11:59this kind of dog is right for them. Chris didn't think so.

0:11:59 > 0:12:01- He's got his sensible head on. - At the moment,

0:12:01 > 0:12:05I'm feeling very confident now that I'm sitting next to a Staff,

0:12:05 > 0:12:09or like a dog, so close to me. I know that if I had a Staff,

0:12:09 > 0:12:11I'd definitely get along with it now.

0:12:11 > 0:12:15And i know I'm capable of handling it and stuff.

0:12:15 > 0:12:18Pet practice complete, but I still think Micah and Liam

0:12:18 > 0:12:21have a long way to go before they can handle a dog.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23With 10 minutes to go, Rachel is determined to finish

0:12:23 > 0:12:27the pet practice, and has moved on to the goat enclosure.

0:12:27 > 0:12:29Go fetch it!

0:12:30 > 0:12:32Whilst Tej is still with the chickens.

0:12:32 > 0:12:34Whoa!

0:12:34 > 0:12:36In your face, chickens!

0:12:38 > 0:12:42Perfect. Two even portions of goat food. Goats! Food!

0:12:42 > 0:12:46Primrose and Pickles are all good for grub.

0:12:46 > 0:12:49Sorry, Einstein and Kitts - I'll get the food sorted out for you, lads.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52At least we've done like five animals.

0:12:54 > 0:12:57Really, Tej needed to roll his sleeves up

0:12:57 > 0:13:00and actually just, you know, stop fiddling around in the background

0:13:00 > 0:13:04- and do something.- I tried my best. I admit I wasn't as fast as them.

0:13:04 > 0:13:08I don't think I could have gone any faster or done any better.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10I did my utmost best.

0:13:11 > 0:13:15So, who's put in that extra bit of effort in the final pet practice

0:13:15 > 0:13:18that could win them the title of Best Pet Carer?

0:13:25 > 0:13:29'Coming up - the tension builds as the big announcement is made.'

0:13:29 > 0:13:33And I'm quite happy to tell you that the person you voted for

0:13:33 > 0:13:35is...

0:13:35 > 0:13:38'Pet Heads find out if Elvis has finally shed his skin.

0:13:38 > 0:13:42'Another top TV star pops in with their pet.'

0:13:42 > 0:13:47- Oh, my gosh!- 'And Chris gets feisty about the ferret enclosure.'

0:13:47 > 0:13:50Litter boxes everywhere!

0:13:55 > 0:13:59Right, it's time for our Pet Heads to enter the Diary Room

0:13:59 > 0:14:02and nominate who they think is the best pet carer.

0:14:02 > 0:14:04I'm just a little bit excited.

0:14:04 > 0:14:07I'm nominating, for Pet Carer of the Week...

0:14:09 > 0:14:10is...

0:14:12 > 0:14:15- Sam.- Sophie.- Liam.- I nominate Chris.

0:14:17 > 0:14:20She made an effort and she really persevered.

0:14:20 > 0:14:22Erm, sorry a sec...

0:14:22 > 0:14:26- Let me just think about it.- And I think he wondered a lot with...

0:14:26 > 0:14:29- with Leo the dog.- Erm...

0:14:29 > 0:14:32She's really calm and she's good with animals.

0:14:32 > 0:14:35I will vote for Tej as Pet Carer.

0:14:35 > 0:14:38- I'm nominating... - Sorry, Sam, we've run out of time.

0:14:38 > 0:14:41Who's it going to be? It's close, very close.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49We have called this assembly for one reason, and one reason only.

0:14:49 > 0:14:52You guys have been voting for who you think

0:14:52 > 0:14:56is the best pet carer. Your votes are in, they've been counted

0:14:56 > 0:15:00and verified, and I'm quite happy to tell you

0:15:00 > 0:15:03that the person that you voted for...

0:15:03 > 0:15:05is...

0:15:08 > 0:15:10Sophie.

0:15:10 > 0:15:13- APPLAUSE AND CHEERING - All right!

0:15:13 > 0:15:17Well done, mate. You get the power to choose

0:15:17 > 0:15:20who gets what pet buddy.

0:15:20 > 0:15:24Now, Sophie, with that power comes big responsibility.

0:15:24 > 0:15:27You've got to think sensibly about this, who you're going to buddy up.

0:15:27 > 0:15:31Two days left to go to prove to your parents

0:15:31 > 0:15:34- that you can be true pet buddies, OK?- Yep.- Off you go.

0:15:40 > 0:15:44I wonder who Sophie's going to choose to buddy up with Elvis?

0:15:44 > 0:15:46Before Elvis joined Pet School, he was looked after

0:15:46 > 0:15:50at a rescue centre after his previous owners moved house

0:15:50 > 0:15:52and left him behind - you've got to consider your pets

0:15:52 > 0:15:54when you're moving.

0:15:54 > 0:15:56This corn snake came in.

0:15:56 > 0:15:59The owners decided they didn't want it any more.

0:15:59 > 0:16:02They were moving house and they couldn't take it with them.

0:16:02 > 0:16:05Erm, so, er, he's in quite good health,

0:16:05 > 0:16:10and he's been as good as gold. Corn snakes tend to be very, very calm,

0:16:10 > 0:16:13so they're good to handle,

0:16:13 > 0:16:16and they also come in a variety of different colours.

0:16:16 > 0:16:21They're not venomous, and they kill their prey by constrictions,

0:16:21 > 0:16:24so they just stop the prey from breathing.

0:16:24 > 0:16:28They eat mice, so you have to have dead mice in your freezer.

0:16:28 > 0:16:31And they're defrosted, and they're fed every week, so you have to be

0:16:31 > 0:16:34comfortable with handling dead mice.

0:16:35 > 0:16:38It would be really nice if one of the Pet School children

0:16:38 > 0:16:40took a liking to this corn snake.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43Sadly, Elvis the corn snake hasn't been able to bond with our Pet Heads

0:16:43 > 0:16:45as much as we'd like.

0:16:45 > 0:16:49He found his perfect buddy in Sam, but because at the time,

0:16:49 > 0:16:52we thought he's started to shed his skin, he couldn't be touched,

0:16:52 > 0:16:54and Sam had to change buddies.

0:16:56 > 0:16:58But look, he's shed his skin!

0:16:58 > 0:17:02Breaking news - the snake hath shed!

0:17:02 > 0:17:04- Woah!- Ooh, wow!- What do you reckon?

0:17:04 > 0:17:07- That's awesome.- Yeah?

0:17:07 > 0:17:10- He's changed!- Finally you can see his face.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13- He's actually alert.- Yeah, finally!

0:17:13 > 0:17:17- Shall we get his skin out to measure it?- Yep.- Mm-hmm.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20Any guesses on length?

0:17:20 > 0:17:24- Er, corn snakes are about 4-5ft... - Yeah.

0:17:24 > 0:17:28- Ugh!- You have to be really careful with it, because it's fragile.

0:17:28 > 0:17:32- You want to bring it out in one whole piece.- I'll try...

0:17:32 > 0:17:35- Ugh! I wonder what that is in its skin?- What is that?

0:17:35 > 0:17:38What do you think? I think you'll be able to work it out.

0:17:38 > 0:17:40- Is it his old skin?- No.

0:17:40 > 0:17:44- It's something in the skin. - Is it blood?- No.- No?

0:17:44 > 0:17:47What do we deal with a lot here at Pet School?

0:17:47 > 0:17:50- Poo!- Poo. Yes, it's poo.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53- He uses that to... - Guys, it's started to smell.- OK.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55Lay it down so we can measure it. Straight as possible,

0:17:55 > 0:17:59to get the most accurate measurement. What does it feel like?

0:17:59 > 0:18:00Wet and soggy.

0:18:00 > 0:18:03It is a bit soggy, isn't it?

0:18:03 > 0:18:05So, what's its total length?

0:18:05 > 0:18:07Erm, 184 centimetres.

0:18:07 > 0:18:10184 centimetres - 1.84 metres

0:18:11 > 0:18:13Hmm, that is long.

0:18:13 > 0:18:17Now he's shed his skin, Elvis is a lot happier.

0:18:17 > 0:18:20He is no longer a shy snake!

0:18:20 > 0:18:22Yay!

0:18:22 > 0:18:25Will Sam ask Sophie to make Elvis his buddy

0:18:25 > 0:18:27and give us a happy ending?

0:18:27 > 0:18:30Right, you lot, go and wash your hands.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35Now she's been voted Best Pet Carer,

0:18:35 > 0:18:40everyone's eager to speak to Sophie about the pet buddy they want.

0:18:40 > 0:18:43When I found out that I'd been nominated as Best Pet Carer,

0:18:43 > 0:18:46I was really, really happy.

0:18:46 > 0:18:49But when I found out that I had to pick everybody's pet buddies,

0:18:49 > 0:18:51I was really, really worried.

0:18:51 > 0:18:54It was going to be really hard to pick

0:18:54 > 0:18:56who was going to get a certain animal.

0:18:56 > 0:18:59No prizes for guessing which pet Tej wants.

0:18:59 > 0:19:03- You can see that I love, love, love him to bits, can't you?- Yeah.

0:19:03 > 0:19:05I really, really want Mollie.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08If I could really care for a dog like Kiki or Mollie,

0:19:08 > 0:19:12- I could show them that I really can care for a dog...- Yeah.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15..and if I can care for a dog, how hard can a rabbit be?

0:19:15 > 0:19:18But Rachel, don't you already have a dog at home?

0:19:18 > 0:19:22I can't put everybody with dogs, because lots of people want the dogs.

0:19:22 > 0:19:26No wonder - dogs and cats are two of the most popular pets in Britain.

0:19:26 > 0:19:29My first choice would be KitKat the hamster.

0:19:29 > 0:19:32Ysabel made brilliant progress with KitKat, especially after her own

0:19:32 > 0:19:35pet hamster chomped on her finger and made her scared of them.

0:19:35 > 0:19:39I would like a hamster because I want to get more confident,

0:19:39 > 0:19:41so I can actually...

0:19:41 > 0:19:44properly, like, get used to them, and pick my hamster up at home,

0:19:44 > 0:19:46and get proper confident.

0:19:46 > 0:19:49One by one, the Pet Heads state their case.

0:19:49 > 0:19:53There's only two days left for everyone to convince their parents.

0:19:53 > 0:19:56I want something that I can look after. A rat, in particular,

0:19:56 > 0:19:59because she doesn't think that I can look after my dog.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03I really want a dog, like Mollie.

0:20:03 > 0:20:05You weren't keen on her when you were buddies, mate...

0:20:05 > 0:20:08At the start I wasn't thinking about it, and then all of a sudden,

0:20:08 > 0:20:12something changed, and I saw the other side of Mollie,

0:20:12 > 0:20:14- and how good she was...- Yeah.

0:20:14 > 0:20:17..and how I really wanted this pet.

0:20:17 > 0:20:20I wouldn't mind either of the dogs.

0:20:20 > 0:20:25It's like my turn to show my mum and my dad that I deserve a dog.

0:20:25 > 0:20:29Smart thinking - whatever's going to help the parents make that decision.

0:20:29 > 0:20:32I wouldn't want the corn snake, because that's just

0:20:32 > 0:20:34shedding its skin - I just saw it.

0:20:35 > 0:20:38Micah - Mum hasn't been convinced so far,

0:20:38 > 0:20:40so this could be your last chance.

0:20:40 > 0:20:42I really want Mollie as a pet buddy,

0:20:42 > 0:20:46because she's really playful, and I really want to prove to my parents

0:20:46 > 0:20:49that I'm able to look after a dog.

0:20:49 > 0:20:52I'm still not entirely sure, but I've got a really good idea

0:20:52 > 0:20:54of who I'm going to give the animals to.

0:20:54 > 0:20:59Well, Sophie, as top pet carer, I'm sure you'll make the right choices.

0:21:01 > 0:21:05Because they fell behind on pet practice, the team didn't get round

0:21:05 > 0:21:08to cleaning the ferret enclosure.

0:21:08 > 0:21:11Einstein and Kitts' pet buddy Chris has come to check it out.

0:21:14 > 0:21:15Oh, my gosh!

0:21:15 > 0:21:19Oh, dear. It was Rachel, Sophie and Tej's task to clean this up!

0:21:19 > 0:21:21There's towels on the floor,

0:21:21 > 0:21:25there's litter boxes...everywhere.

0:21:25 > 0:21:27There's ferret food all over the floor!

0:21:27 > 0:21:29This is...

0:21:29 > 0:21:31Wow, this is bad!

0:21:31 > 0:21:34Chris is well miffed about this.

0:21:34 > 0:21:36- Who was in control of the ferrets today?- We were.

0:21:36 > 0:21:39For some reason, we didn't actually finish.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42There's like ferret food everywhere, and then there's like litter,

0:21:42 > 0:21:45and I didn't know what happened. It's my pet buddy,

0:21:45 > 0:21:47but it was, like, your responsibility this morning.

0:21:47 > 0:21:50We ran out of time, but we'll come and sort it out now.

0:21:50 > 0:21:53If you look at what I mean...

0:21:53 > 0:21:55- It's pretty messy in there.- Yeah.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57Ferrets...?

0:21:57 > 0:21:59They're inside, they're sleeping.

0:21:59 > 0:22:01You don't want to wake them,

0:22:01 > 0:22:04otherwise it'll make our job, like, so much harder.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06- Have you got the brush?- Yep. - Brilliant.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08- And a rainbow?- Yeah.- Nice!

0:22:08 > 0:22:11Oh, hello! Hi, little guy!

0:22:11 > 0:22:15- That's a ferret...- Rachel, Rachel, we're here to clean mess up.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18Well, Tej, you'll need to muck in on this one, too!

0:22:18 > 0:22:21I'll do it, it's fine.

0:22:27 > 0:22:30The lads are just happy to watch!

0:22:30 > 0:22:33- Sure you don't want any help, Rach? - Sure - thank you.

0:22:33 > 0:22:36Ferrets would be a really cool pet...

0:22:36 > 0:22:39- to have the space to have a ferret enclosure.- I wouldn't mind

0:22:39 > 0:22:42- having a ferret as a pet.- Thanks, guys, I could never have done this

0:22:42 > 0:22:45- on my own.- It's fine.- No problem.

0:22:45 > 0:22:48- It was our fault that they didn't get cleaned up, so...- That's true.

0:22:48 > 0:22:51Rachel did really well there, and now their digs are sorted,

0:22:51 > 0:22:54Einstein and Kitts can settle down for a nice kip - again.

0:22:57 > 0:22:59As our Pet Heads are learning,

0:22:59 > 0:23:01owning an animal is a big responsibility.

0:23:01 > 0:23:04When pet owners don't take this responsibility seriously,

0:23:04 > 0:23:07bad things happen, both for humans and animals.

0:23:07 > 0:23:10We call this "petty" crimes.

0:23:12 > 0:23:15Earlier, we met Leo the Staffordshire bull terrier.

0:23:15 > 0:23:18Leo is a friendly dog who really enjoyed bonding with Liam.

0:23:18 > 0:23:20Sit, high five...!

0:23:20 > 0:23:24Unfortunately, breeds like Staffies have got a bad reputation.

0:23:24 > 0:23:28This is because some people keep these dogs, and other powerful

0:23:28 > 0:23:31breeds, like mastiffs, just so they can take them out

0:23:31 > 0:23:34and intimidate people - they're known as status dogs,

0:23:34 > 0:23:36just as Rena explains.

0:23:36 > 0:23:38They've got a bad rep, but dogs only behave

0:23:38 > 0:23:41as they've been taught to behave.

0:23:41 > 0:23:45It's important always to remember that the problem is with the owner

0:23:45 > 0:23:48and not the dog - any dog could be taught to be fierce by a bad owner.

0:23:48 > 0:23:52But if these powerful dogs are looked after properly,

0:23:52 > 0:23:55like Rena's lovely mastiff Piper, and time is spent training them,

0:23:55 > 0:23:57they can make great pets.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03Our Pet Heads have been really grafting this morning,

0:24:03 > 0:24:06so, seeing as top celebs love to visit Pet School,

0:24:06 > 0:24:09I thought I'd get another one in for a chat!

0:24:09 > 0:24:11Klariza Clayton's popping by, and she's brought in

0:24:11 > 0:24:14- her four-legged friend. - Look at that!

0:24:14 > 0:24:16The biggest dog I think the guys have seen.

0:24:17 > 0:24:19Squeeze!

0:24:19 > 0:24:23Klariza Clayton is best known for her role as Sam in Dani's House.

0:24:23 > 0:24:27Sam is an animal lover, who worries about endangered species.

0:24:27 > 0:24:31In real life, she has an Alsatian called Maxwell,

0:24:31 > 0:24:33and she's brought him in today to meet the gang.

0:24:33 > 0:24:36He's so cuddly!

0:24:36 > 0:24:37Maxwell...!

0:24:37 > 0:24:41Right, Klariza, let's meet our brilliant pets!

0:24:41 > 0:24:44- Try and keep up! - I think she may want some help!

0:24:49 > 0:24:51Want to give our goats a tasty treat?

0:24:51 > 0:24:53Is this all they eat, or do they eat other stuff?

0:24:53 > 0:24:56- No, this is just a treat.- Oh, OK.

0:24:56 > 0:24:59- So this is like their version of ice cream.- Yeah.

0:24:59 > 0:25:03Next, it's the exotic room - how does Brett feel?

0:25:03 > 0:25:05It doesn't feel how I thought it would feel.

0:25:05 > 0:25:08I thought it would feel more like a snake.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10- Ooh, he's looking at me! - They feel very scratchy.

0:25:12 > 0:25:15Our one-week-old chicks need to stretch their legs quickly -

0:25:15 > 0:25:17fancy giving the guys a hand, Klariza?

0:25:17 > 0:25:21- And the newborn chicks are in here. - I'm so excited!

0:25:22 > 0:25:26Third finger and thumb, then just close all your fingers around it.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28Gently does it!

0:25:28 > 0:25:30Oh, I'm holding a chick!

0:25:31 > 0:25:34- This is Florence.- That's Florence...

0:25:34 > 0:25:37Flo, can I call you Flo?

0:25:37 > 0:25:39Something bit me!

0:25:39 > 0:25:42- His friends are in there. - Quickly, quickly!

0:25:42 > 0:25:45Time to get those chicks back to the safety of their warm shed.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50Thanks for popping into Pet School, Klariza and Max!

0:25:55 > 0:25:58Sophie's listened to her fellow Pet Heads' pleas,

0:25:58 > 0:26:01and now it's time to make some important decisions.

0:26:01 > 0:26:04You've got to think from the heart who deserves it,

0:26:04 > 0:26:06and who's going to get one at the end of Pet School?

0:26:06 > 0:26:09- He's obviously a good pet carer anyway.- Yes, he has shown,

0:26:09 > 0:26:13- the last couple of days, a bit of improvement.- I'm wondering,

0:26:13 > 0:26:16- is a dog the right pet for him? - At this point, his dad

0:26:16 > 0:26:18isn't convinced.

0:26:18 > 0:26:20It's not the pet they're looking for.

0:26:20 > 0:26:22She loves KitKat.

0:26:22 > 0:26:25He's had a go at three different dogs - four!

0:26:25 > 0:26:28- I think she just really wants the rats.- Not a chance

0:26:28 > 0:26:32that snake - or any snake is going in his house.

0:26:32 > 0:26:35She asked for a dog, and that really confused me, because

0:26:35 > 0:26:37she wants a rabbit.

0:26:37 > 0:26:39Is she going to be bored of her hamster at home?
