0:00:49 > 0:00:51# We could have had it all... #

0:00:51 > 0:00:53..Adele?

0:00:53 > 0:00:57She's got one killer voice and can write songs that make grown men cry.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03So, whose team are you on?

0:01:03 > 0:01:06Team Dizzee or Team Adele?

0:01:08 > 0:01:11I'll be hitting the road to find out everything there is to know

0:01:11 > 0:01:13about their superstar lives

0:01:13 > 0:01:16and to see who deserves to win the coolest prize in pop - the Ambo.

0:01:18 > 0:01:20There's only one way to win the Ambo

0:01:20 > 0:01:24and that's by gaining as many of my Ambo points as possible.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28I'll be dishing them out over three slamming rounds of pop-osity,

0:01:28 > 0:01:32where I meet the people who knew the stars back in the day,

0:01:32 > 0:01:35then I check out how hard they've been working.

0:01:36 > 0:01:40And finally I scrutinise their style.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42All before the big moment.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45The winner of the Ambo is...

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Now, you might not agree with the outcome,

0:01:48 > 0:01:52and, if not, go to the CBBC website and have your say.

0:01:52 > 0:01:53But seriously, who would you choose?

0:01:53 > 0:01:56I mean, Adele arguably has the best voice in pop

0:01:56 > 0:02:00and Dizzee is an awesome rapper. I mean, I'm about as confused as you.

0:02:00 > 0:02:04There's only one way to sort it. It's time for Pop Slam!

0:02:04 > 0:02:05CRASH!

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Round one, Pop Potential.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14This is all about how our stars made it.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20# Fix up, look sharp... #

0:02:20 > 0:02:24Dizzee may be one of the biggest UK rappers in the world nowadays,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27but before that he was a bit of a rascal

0:02:27 > 0:02:31and he grew up right here, in Bow in east London.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34# You graze me with your cold shoulder... #

0:02:34 > 0:02:39And then there's Adele. Years before she became a colossal superstar,

0:02:39 > 0:02:43she grew up in a few places in and around London Town.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47So, just how did Dizzee and Adele

0:02:47 > 0:02:50become the superstars they are today?

0:02:50 > 0:02:52I'm gonna find out.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54First up,

0:02:54 > 0:02:55Mr Rascal.

0:02:55 > 0:02:56# Stress on the brain complain to the full

0:02:56 > 0:02:58# Stress on the brain complain to the max

0:02:58 > 0:03:00# I'm gonna search for big money stacks... #

0:03:00 > 0:03:05This is Bow, east London, where Dylan Mills, aka Dizzee Rascal,

0:03:05 > 0:03:06spend most of his youth.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09In fact, he spend a lot more time around here than

0:03:09 > 0:03:10he actually did at school.

0:03:10 > 0:03:14And that's the type of thing that will get you expelled - and it did.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16Dylan got expelled four times.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19But while he was struggling with his schooling, a new type of music

0:03:19 > 0:03:23was taking off around Bow, which saw Dylan become a music superstar.

0:03:23 > 0:03:27This is how Dylan Mills became the biggest grime MC in the world.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30# He's just a rascal Just a rascal... #

0:03:30 > 0:03:33# He's just a rascal Dizzee Rascal... #

0:03:33 > 0:03:35In the early 2000s,

0:03:35 > 0:03:38grime was the coolest underground music in east London.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41# He's just a rascal Just a rascal... #

0:03:41 > 0:03:44He may be living the high life nowadays, but when

0:03:44 > 0:03:48he was growing up, things for young Dylan Mills were very different.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51# So you can try anything you want I definitely don't mind... #

0:03:51 > 0:03:53Life for Dylan was pretty hard as a teenager.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55He grew up here and his mum worked two jobs

0:03:55 > 0:03:57to keep him out of trouble.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59# Blood, don't make me get old school... #

0:03:59 > 0:04:03But that was a tough task. After being kicked out of a few schools,

0:04:03 > 0:04:07Dylan finally ended up somewhere that didn't give up on him.

0:04:08 > 0:04:12This is Langdon Park School. And it's here where he discovered

0:04:12 > 0:04:15one class that he absolutely loved - maths.

0:04:17 > 0:04:18Ah, it was music!

0:04:21 > 0:04:26In fact, music was the only class he was allowed in and this was

0:04:26 > 0:04:30taught by someone who changed Dylan's life forever - Tim Smith.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32And I caught up with him to get the lowdown.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36What he was like in a classroom environment?

0:04:36 > 0:04:40Initially he walked in the classroom, hood up,

0:04:40 > 0:04:43a bit withdrawn but he was like an outcast.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46So he came in, kept his head down and got on.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49# And if it's on top you know I got that... #

0:04:49 > 0:04:54He came to Langdon Park clearly with some skills already

0:04:54 > 0:04:58but maybe not so much opportunity or time or something like that.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02It was quite...quite exciting from the word go,

0:05:02 > 0:05:04that this was something different.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06# The sun's the biggest star in the sky

0:05:06 > 0:05:09# But naturally it's gotta make room for the moon every night... #

0:05:09 > 0:05:13Dizzee actually thanked you on his first album. How did that feel?

0:05:13 > 0:05:15I was gobsmacked.

0:05:15 > 0:05:20I was... I felt so humbled that he would thank me for...

0:05:20 > 0:05:24I think the expression was "keeping the faith even when times got grim."

0:05:24 > 0:05:27They did get grim from time to time for him at school.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30But we had some good times, and fabulous memories.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33Did you think when he was in the classroom, sitting there

0:05:33 > 0:05:37with his music, that he was going to just blow up and become massive?

0:05:37 > 0:05:42I'm really genuinely proud that he's moved on and changed, evolved,

0:05:42 > 0:05:45and I've been teaching now 37 years.

0:05:45 > 0:05:50I've never come across such raw talent.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53I've never come across a student who knew where

0:05:53 > 0:05:55he wanted to take that talent.

0:05:55 > 0:05:57# Blood, don't make me get old school... #

0:05:57 > 0:05:59Oi!

0:05:59 > 0:06:03Although he had been a troublemaker and struggled at school,

0:06:03 > 0:06:06with the help of Mr Smith, Dylan had found his calling - music.

0:06:06 > 0:06:10Have five Ambo points for turning your life around.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12# Fix up, look sharp... #

0:06:13 > 0:06:18Dylan became known as Dizzee Rascal, and was creating a name for himself

0:06:18 > 0:06:23by emceeing on underground radio stations and at raves.

0:06:23 > 0:06:26He got signed to a record label and released his first album,

0:06:26 > 0:06:28Boy In Da Corner, in 2003.

0:06:30 > 0:06:32But he was still pretty underground

0:06:32 > 0:06:36until he got nominated for a Mercury Music Prize.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39# I got the big beat... #

0:06:39 > 0:06:43The Mercury Prize is one of the mega-important awards in music

0:06:43 > 0:06:46and usually won by super-serious artists.

0:06:46 > 0:06:49# They're trying to see if Dizzee stays true to his grammar... #

0:06:49 > 0:06:52Dizzee was up against Coldplay and Radiohead,

0:06:52 > 0:06:55two of the biggest bands in the world.

0:06:55 > 0:06:57APPLAUSE

0:06:57 > 0:07:00If you are nominated for a Mercury Music Prize,

0:07:00 > 0:07:03all of a sudden people pay more attention to your music.

0:07:03 > 0:07:10The winner of the 2003 Mercury Music Prize is...

0:07:10 > 0:07:12Dizzee Rascal.

0:07:12 > 0:07:13CHEERING

0:07:14 > 0:07:18When Dizzee won it, and won it over the people that were the favourites

0:07:18 > 0:07:22to win it, I think immediately everybody was like, who is this guy?

0:07:22 > 0:07:23We need to find out who this guy is.

0:07:23 > 0:07:27And, immediately, it was all eyes on Dizzee Rascal.

0:07:27 > 0:07:31I just want to thank God, I want to thank my mum, my family, everyone.

0:07:31 > 0:07:34Remember to support British talent cos it's there.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37Yes, man, big up all the Bow E3 crew, East London crew, London, stand up,

0:07:37 > 0:07:39England, UK talent. Watch out.

0:07:40 > 0:07:45What a winner. That's two Ambo points coming your way, Mr Rascal.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49Soon Dizzee had become the most talked about rapper in ages.

0:07:49 > 0:07:53So from then it was all number ones, multiplatinum records

0:07:53 > 0:07:55and private jets, right? Well, not quite.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59See, it actually took six years of hard work and three albums

0:07:59 > 0:08:02later before the big bucks actually started to kick in.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05And for that he needed a Scottish producer and asked us

0:08:05 > 0:08:06to dance with him.

0:08:06 > 0:08:08Oh, Dizzee, I thought you'd never ask.

0:08:08 > 0:08:12SHE HUMS THE TUNE TO "DANCE WIV ME"

0:08:12 > 0:08:14# I see you glance at me That's why I'm askin', B

0:08:14 > 0:08:16# So let's party, B Come and dance wiv me... #

0:08:16 > 0:08:20Dizzee teamed up with smash hit maker Calvin Harris to produce

0:08:20 > 0:08:25the single Dance Wiv Me, and it was Dizzee's first number one.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27# Get away from the bar

0:08:27 > 0:08:30# Tell your boyfriend hold your jar and dance wiv me. #

0:08:30 > 0:08:34Dizzee had finally broke into the big time and became one of

0:08:34 > 0:08:39Britain's biggest male solo artists, but that was only the start for him.

0:08:39 > 0:08:41Elsewhere in London, Adele was on her way.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43Let's find out how she made it big.

0:08:43 > 0:08:46# Round my hometown

0:08:46 > 0:08:51# Memories are fresh

0:08:51 > 0:08:54# Round my hometown

0:08:54 > 0:08:59# Oooh, the people I've met... #

0:08:59 > 0:09:02Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was just a normal London girl

0:09:02 > 0:09:05who loved to sing Spice Girls in her bedroom.

0:09:05 > 0:09:08So how did she become the record-breaking worldwide

0:09:08 > 0:09:10megastar we know and love today?

0:09:11 > 0:09:15# Are the wonders of my world... #

0:09:15 > 0:09:18Before Adele hit the big time, she hung out here,

0:09:18 > 0:09:21on Portobello Road, dreaming of becoming a pop star.

0:09:22 > 0:09:27But there was one other place that really helped her make it.

0:09:27 > 0:09:30# Short skirts, shorts and shades... #

0:09:30 > 0:09:33In her early teens, she got into the Brit School,

0:09:33 > 0:09:36which is a performing arts school where loads of megastars go.

0:09:36 > 0:09:40Imagine sharing a school with Jessie J and Leona Lewis,

0:09:40 > 0:09:42cos that's exactly what happened to Adele.

0:09:42 > 0:09:43So jealous!

0:09:46 > 0:09:48It was at the Brit School that Adele learned

0:09:48 > 0:09:52to write songs, but she still hadn't quite found her sound.

0:09:52 > 0:09:55It wasn't until she bought a couple of albums by Etta James...

0:09:55 > 0:09:59# Something told me

0:09:59 > 0:10:02# It was over, babe... #

0:10:02 > 0:10:04..and Ella Fitzgerald...

0:10:04 > 0:10:08# Dream a little dream of me... #

0:10:09 > 0:10:13..that she found the soulful voice that made her famous today.

0:10:13 > 0:10:19# No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do

0:10:19 > 0:10:23# To make you feel my love... #

0:10:23 > 0:10:26So Adele had the voice and all she needed was the songs

0:10:26 > 0:10:28and that's where this place comes in.

0:10:31 > 0:10:35This is the very place where Adele signed her record contract,

0:10:35 > 0:10:39but this pub is it so important to Adele's story for other reasons too.

0:10:39 > 0:10:45# I could hold you for a million years

0:10:45 > 0:10:50# To make you feel my love. #

0:10:50 > 0:10:54Every singer dreams of the moment they get offered a record contract

0:10:54 > 0:10:56and usually that comes from being super-talented

0:10:56 > 0:11:00and working really hard. But for Adele it came much easier,

0:11:00 > 0:11:03not that she's not talented or hard-working.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07You see, one of her friends posted some of her music online

0:11:07 > 0:11:11and someone from XL Recordings saw it and offered her a contract.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13Boom - it was that easy.

0:11:13 > 0:11:16But Adele needed some inspiration for her writing.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19And right on cue, she broke up with her boyfriend.

0:11:19 > 0:11:23A little bit sad, but she had her writing material

0:11:23 > 0:11:25and started writing right here in this pub.

0:11:25 > 0:11:28# I've made up my mind

0:11:28 > 0:11:31# Don't need to think it over

0:11:31 > 0:11:34# If I'm wrong I am right

0:11:34 > 0:11:37# Don't need to look no further

0:11:37 > 0:11:39# This ain't lust

0:11:39 > 0:11:42# I know

0:11:42 > 0:11:48# This is love, but... #

0:11:48 > 0:11:50No-one knows how to write a song like she does.

0:11:50 > 0:11:54- That's true.- No-one can tell your story better than yourself.

0:11:54 > 0:11:56With Adele it's her story.

0:11:56 > 0:12:00# And that's exactly what I need to do... #

0:12:00 > 0:12:03The album that took her international was very, very honest

0:12:03 > 0:12:06and it was about a break-up with an ex-boyfriend

0:12:06 > 0:12:09and everybody can kind of relate to breaking up with someone

0:12:09 > 0:12:13and a bit of heartache and she was honest enough to put that on paper.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16# Even it leads nowhere

0:12:16 > 0:12:19# Or would it be a waste... #

0:12:19 > 0:12:24That is some superb writing talent and defo deserves three Ambo points

0:12:24 > 0:12:26for sharing your pain with the world.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28# Should I give up... #

0:12:28 > 0:12:32In 2008, Adele released her first album, 19,

0:12:32 > 0:12:35named after her age when she wrote it,

0:12:35 > 0:12:38and it hit number one in the album charts.

0:12:38 > 0:12:42Have another Ambo point for getting straight to the top spot.

0:12:42 > 0:12:43APPLAUSE

0:12:43 > 0:12:45Let's check out the scores.

0:12:47 > 0:12:51Both Dizzee and Adele had raw talent from a young age,

0:12:51 > 0:12:54but Dizzee really managing to find his focus

0:12:54 > 0:12:56has pitched him into the lead.

0:12:56 > 0:13:00If you don't agree with me, then get online to the CBBC website

0:13:00 > 0:13:01and have your say.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10Round two - Pop Success.

0:13:10 > 0:13:13This is all about what our stars have been up to to make sure

0:13:13 > 0:13:17that they stay at the top of the charts. First up, Dizzee Rascal.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21When Dizzee first started out, he was mainly doing smaller gigs.

0:13:21 > 0:13:24Respect. But since Dance Wiv Me, he got to perform

0:13:24 > 0:13:26on much bigger stages,

0:13:26 > 0:13:29like Radio One's Big Weekend and even Glastonbury.

0:13:29 > 0:13:31# I know you're really busy and I know you got plans

0:13:31 > 0:13:33# But are you really too busy for a sun tan?

0:13:33 > 0:13:35# I ain't talkin' 'bout walkin' down the high street

0:13:35 > 0:13:37# I'm talkin 'bout layin' on a bright white beach... #

0:13:37 > 0:13:39A Dizzee Rascal gig is insane.

0:13:39 > 0:13:44I think he's probably one of the best live UK hip-hop acts

0:13:44 > 0:13:46or emcees that we have.

0:13:46 > 0:13:50The crowd go crazy, his energy is insane

0:13:50 > 0:13:52and I've never seen anything like it.

0:13:52 > 0:13:54Glastonbury, are you ready?

0:13:58 > 0:14:00Bounce, bounce, bounce...

0:14:00 > 0:14:03As well as playing some of the biggest festivals

0:14:03 > 0:14:07in the world, Dizzee Rascal has sold out massive venues across the UK.

0:14:07 > 0:14:10He is so good that he was even asked to perform

0:14:10 > 0:14:13at the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony,

0:14:13 > 0:14:18watched by an estimated 900 million people. Wow!

0:14:18 > 0:14:19- # Hey! - Baby

0:14:19 > 0:14:21- # Hey! - Baby

0:14:21 > 0:14:23# Hey... #

0:14:23 > 0:14:27Have three Ambo points for working hard to entertain the fans.

0:14:28 > 0:14:29Peace and love!

0:14:29 > 0:14:33But where Dizzee's performances are full of energy

0:14:33 > 0:14:35and get the crowd totally wowed,

0:14:35 > 0:14:39Adele's performances are completely different

0:14:39 > 0:14:41but still extremely powerful.

0:14:41 > 0:14:44# Old friend

0:14:44 > 0:14:48# Why are you so shy? #

0:14:48 > 0:14:53One performance in particular took her career from big to huge.

0:14:53 > 0:14:57This from the Brit Awards in 2011.

0:14:57 > 0:15:00# I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited

0:15:00 > 0:15:03# But I couldn't stay away... #

0:18:17 > 0:18:19Dizzee wasn't actually wearing any underwear,

0:18:19 > 0:18:21so his entire crew saw his bottom.

0:18:21 > 0:18:24That's what I call awkward.

0:18:24 > 0:18:25# I let sanity give me the slip... #

0:18:25 > 0:18:27Not wearing any pants when you're working,

0:18:27 > 0:18:30I'm taking off an Ambo point for that one.

0:18:30 > 0:18:33# Some people think I'm bonkers but I just think I'm free... #

0:18:40 > 0:18:43Adele was really starting to hit the big time.

0:19:52 > 0:19:59# But you played it, you played it, you played it to the beat. #

0:20:01 > 0:20:04And while Adele was appearing at all these award shows,

0:20:04 > 0:20:08Dizzee was also appearing in some pretty surprising places.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10# Life's too short to be livin' with stress

0:20:10 > 0:20:12# I'm too young to be all depressed

0:20:12 > 0:20:14# I can't complain, I'm highly blessed

0:20:14 > 0:20:16# And there's one thing that I wanna get off my chest. #

0:20:16 > 0:20:17Dizzee was popping up everywhere

0:20:17 > 0:20:21and even in places you wouldn't expect him, like Newsnight.

0:20:21 > 0:20:25Get this, in 2008 Dizzee was asked to come on Newsnight

0:20:25 > 0:20:28to talk about Barack Obama, who had just been elected as president.

0:20:30 > 0:20:34- Mr Rascal, could you see this happening in Britain?- Yeah. In time.

0:20:34 > 0:20:37I think a black man, purple man, Martian man can run the country,

0:20:37 > 0:20:40whatever, man, as long as he does right by the people.

0:20:40 > 0:20:44To see a grime artist on Newsnight was a really big deal.

0:20:44 > 0:20:45- It was ground-breaking. - It's history.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47No-one's ever done it before.

0:20:47 > 0:20:50And to see someone like Dizzee do it, we was proud of him.

0:20:50 > 0:20:53- Why don't you run for office? - See, that's a very good idea.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55I might have to do that one day,

0:20:55 > 0:20:58still Dizzee Rascal for Prime Minister, yeah? What's happening?

0:20:58 > 0:21:01Go, Dizzee! Have three political Ambo points.

0:21:01 > 0:21:04# Get with the programme, I got the flow and I got the dough... #

0:21:04 > 0:21:08But how has all this affected their sales? Let's take a little look.

0:21:08 > 0:21:14Dizzee has sold over 5.3 million records in the UK.

0:21:14 > 0:21:16Pretty good going. Have an Ambo point.

0:21:19 > 0:21:24But Adele has sold a whopping 13.2 million.

0:21:24 > 0:21:26You can't argue with the stats.

0:21:26 > 0:21:31That's three multi-million selling Ambo points to Adele.

0:21:31 > 0:21:33Let's check out the scores.

0:21:35 > 0:21:37They've both had some uber success,

0:21:37 > 0:21:42but because Adele has sold so much music, she's gone into the lead.

0:21:42 > 0:21:44If you're on Team Dizzee and disagree,

0:21:44 > 0:21:47then hit up the CBBC website and have your say.

0:21:47 > 0:21:50It's all to play for going into round three.

0:21:56 > 0:21:59Round three - Pop Style.

0:21:59 > 0:22:02This is all about our celebrities' lives, clothes, cars,

0:22:02 > 0:22:05pets or whatever else they like to spend the cash on.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07First up, Dizzee Rascal.

0:22:07 > 0:22:11Dizzee Rascal is the king of street cool, right?

0:22:11 > 0:22:14So he would look pretty out of place performing with this person.

0:22:14 > 0:22:17# Diamonds are forever... #

0:22:17 > 0:22:21This is legendary diva Dame Shirley Bassey singing

0:22:21 > 0:22:26Diamonds Are Forever, possibly the most iconic James Bond song ever.

0:22:26 > 0:22:29She's singing in the uber-classy Royal Albert Hall.

0:22:29 > 0:22:32It is one elegant performance, people,

0:22:32 > 0:22:34but who can scrub up, don a suit

0:22:34 > 0:22:37and not be afraid to bring some rap to the proceedings?

0:22:37 > 0:22:38Yeah!

0:22:38 > 0:22:41# Diamonds in my ear, diamonds in my ring

0:22:41 > 0:22:44# Diamonds on my watch keep me looking like a king... #

0:22:44 > 0:22:48Dizzee Rascal of course! Looking pretty sharp in his tuxedo.

0:22:51 > 0:22:55Have two Ambo points for pulling off an awesomely chic style.

0:22:55 > 0:22:59And have another point for not being afraid to try something new.

0:23:02 > 0:23:05But while Dizzee was showing off his classy style...

0:23:07 > 0:23:10..Adele was showing off her more down-to-earth style

0:23:10 > 0:23:12in a very different way.

0:23:14 > 0:23:18You probably think earning millions of pounds changes you

0:23:18 > 0:23:20as a person and you can't do anything normal.

0:23:20 > 0:23:23Well, nobody seems to have told Adele.

0:23:23 > 0:23:26How did she celebrate after winning two Grammys for her first album?

0:23:26 > 0:23:28By getting a job here.

0:23:28 > 0:23:30CHEERING

0:23:31 > 0:23:35It seems unbelievable but after Adele had hit the big time,

0:23:35 > 0:23:38she got a job right here in this record shop.

0:23:38 > 0:23:41I've caught up with Chris, who worked with Adele,

0:23:41 > 0:23:42to tell me all about it.

0:23:42 > 0:23:45Now, Chris, first thing I want to know is how did it all

0:23:45 > 0:23:49- come about, did she just hand you a job application?- No.

0:23:49 > 0:23:51She just said, "I want to do something,

0:23:51 > 0:23:54"I need something to focus on in the week

0:23:54 > 0:23:58"because, you know, I've got nothing better to do."

0:23:58 > 0:24:01So she was like, "Do you need someone? Can I work here?"

0:24:01 > 0:24:05You know, I did stand back at first but she was obviously deadly serious.

0:24:05 > 0:24:08So we were just like, "Yeah, that's fine. Let's do it."

0:24:08 > 0:24:11- Did it last a while? Did she stick around for a little bit?- Yeah.

0:24:11 > 0:24:15She was here for maybe two or three months and then obviously

0:24:15 > 0:24:19her proper job kicked back in and we all know what happened after that.

0:24:19 > 0:24:22So how hard-working was Adele when she was here?

0:24:22 > 0:24:24She was extremely hard-working.

0:24:24 > 0:24:27She would just knuckle down, get everything done,

0:24:27 > 0:24:30cos obviously we get a lot of stock in here every day,

0:24:30 > 0:24:34but she would just power through it and get it done really quick.

0:24:34 > 0:24:41# It burned while I cried cos I heard it screaming out your name

0:24:41 > 0:24:42# Your name... #

0:24:42 > 0:24:46- Does she ever come back to the store?- She does now and again. Yeah.

0:24:46 > 0:24:49The last time I saw her she was walking on the other side

0:24:49 > 0:24:52of the road with one of her dogs and she said, "Oh, hello,"

0:24:52 > 0:24:54but, yeah, she's super...

0:24:54 > 0:24:58She's just super-friendly, down to earth, totally normal.

0:24:58 > 0:25:00She just hasn't really changed.

0:25:00 > 0:25:05Going back to the shop floor after you've hit the big time - kudos!

0:25:05 > 0:25:09Have three Ambo points for a down-to-earth lifestyle.

0:25:10 > 0:25:14Oh, yeah, you've got to love the fact that fame didn't change Adele,

0:25:14 > 0:25:16but what does she spent her money on?

0:25:16 > 0:25:19I mean, come on, a girl has got to treat herself, right?

0:25:19 > 0:25:21Well, when most people pass their driving test

0:25:21 > 0:25:25they celebrate by jumping in their car, going around the block.

0:25:25 > 0:25:26But not Adele.

0:25:26 > 0:25:31She celebrated by buying herself a car that costs £100,000.

0:25:31 > 0:25:32Ha - no biggie!

0:25:32 > 0:25:36# I set fire... #

0:25:36 > 0:25:38For such a down-to-earth girl to do something

0:25:38 > 0:25:43that's really kind of grand and starry is fab,

0:25:43 > 0:25:45it goes to show how many facets to her there is.

0:25:45 > 0:25:48She is the down-to-earth girl but at the end of the day,

0:25:48 > 0:25:52she's very rich - she's not going to be driving around in a Mini Cooper.

0:25:55 > 0:26:00Splashing the cash on a snazzy ride. How very showbiz.

0:26:00 > 0:26:01Have another Ambo point.

0:26:04 > 0:26:07And while Adele was spending some of her hard-earned wonga,

0:26:07 > 0:26:12Dizzee was getting back into education. Well, sort of.

0:26:12 > 0:26:13The University of East London,

0:26:13 > 0:26:16nearby where Dizzee grew up in Bow, awarded him

0:26:16 > 0:26:20an honorary Doctorate in the Arts for his services to the community.

0:26:20 > 0:26:21Nice.

0:26:21 > 0:26:23# I love it when you act like that

0:26:23 > 0:26:25# Slow, fast, bring it back... #

0:26:25 > 0:26:27Dr Dizzee - hmm, it's got a good ring to it.

0:26:27 > 0:26:30You can take two Ambo points for an educational style.

0:26:30 > 0:26:33And that takes us to the end of round three.

0:26:37 > 0:26:40We've reached the end of another awesome Pop Slam!

0:26:40 > 0:26:44But who has won the Ambo? Will it be Adele or Dizzee Rascal?

0:26:44 > 0:26:47It's a tough one. Let's find out what we've learned.

0:26:49 > 0:26:53We probably couldn't have had two more different pop stars.

0:26:53 > 0:26:57But they've both shown that they had natural talent from a young age,

0:26:57 > 0:27:03are totally awesome performers and have had some massive hits.

0:27:03 > 0:27:06This Pop Slam! is on a knife edge.

0:27:06 > 0:27:11Ladies and gentlemen, it is the moment we've all been waiting for.

0:27:11 > 0:27:16The points have been counted and independently verified - by me.

0:27:16 > 0:27:19And the winner of the Ambo is...

0:27:25 > 0:27:31It's Adele! Dizzee, get out of here! Bring it in, hugs all around.

0:27:31 > 0:27:33Let's have a look at you in action.

0:27:33 > 0:27:36# She is half your age

0:27:36 > 0:27:40# But I'm guessing that's the reason that you strayed... #

0:27:40 > 0:27:43Hi, it's Amberley, I was wondering if Adele's in.

0:27:43 > 0:27:46I'm from CBBC, she's just won a massive award.

0:27:46 > 0:27:48Ah, she's polishing some of her awards?

0:27:48 > 0:27:51Well, this is perfect, maybe we can chat about the new one she's won.

0:27:51 > 0:27:53No?

0:27:53 > 0:27:56I can call back at another time if it's convenient.

0:27:56 > 0:27:58No, I could pop round?

0:27:58 > 0:27:59No...

0:27:59 > 0:28:00I...

0:28:00 > 0:28:04I will hold on to it for her. You know what, how about we...?

0:28:04 > 0:28:05LINE GOES DEAD
