0:00:02 > 0:00:04We're back in the African bush and although it might seem

0:00:04 > 0:00:05like a stroll in the park right now,

0:00:05 > 0:00:09things are set to get a whole lot harder.

0:00:09 > 0:00:11Emily, Rob, Kathryn, Jasmine, and Ed

0:00:11 > 0:00:14are halfway through their African adventure.

0:00:17 > 0:00:21And for our last few days in Ghana, we're leaving the capital of Accra

0:00:21 > 0:00:23and heading for the farmlands.

0:00:23 > 0:00:24What is that? Ah!

0:00:24 > 0:00:27What happens when Rob becomes the big boss?

0:00:27 > 0:00:30You listen to me. I'm the supervisor.

0:00:30 > 0:00:32- What?- I'm off.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Has Emily met her match?

0:00:34 > 0:00:36I've never worked this hard in my life.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39Everybody have to work hard. Hurry up.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41And will there be mutiny in the ranks?

0:00:41 > 0:00:43SHE GRUNTS

0:00:43 > 0:00:45- Move over cos you're not doing it right.- Go away.

0:00:45 > 0:00:46You're not doing it right!

0:00:46 > 0:00:47I'm so livid with him.

0:00:54 > 0:00:58In Nsawam, it's already 27 degrees centigrade

0:00:58 > 0:01:01and the farm workers are getting ready for a day in the fields.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04Nearly six million people in Ghana work in agriculture,

0:01:04 > 0:01:07and today, our five are going to be joining them,

0:01:07 > 0:01:08working on a pineapple farm.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11THEY CHATTER EXCITEDLY

0:01:11 > 0:01:14We love our pineapples in the UK,

0:01:14 > 0:01:17eating about 160 million of them a year.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21With Ghana exporting 40,000 tonnes of them to Europe every year,

0:01:21 > 0:01:23there's a good chance that the pineapple in your

0:01:23 > 0:01:26supermarket was grown on a farm like this.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30- Hello.- Hi.- Daniel, how do you do?

0:01:30 > 0:01:32'Our boss Daniel runs the farm

0:01:32 > 0:01:35'and keeps it producing pineapples all year round.'

0:01:35 > 0:01:38This is a very tough job and it's tedious,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41especially when the sun starts getting hot.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44You're going be working all day, all day today, yeah?

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Full shift. You got it in you?

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Yeah. I guess I owe it to the pineapples which

0:01:49 > 0:01:51- I eat every day. - You like pineapples?

0:01:51 > 0:01:53- I love pineapples. - There you go, good luck.

0:01:53 > 0:01:54Do yourself proud.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59Before our kids set to work on the pineapple plantation,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02they need to get dressed for the fields.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05I'm already boiling, like, already, like, melting.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10I'm into onesies, but...

0:02:10 > 0:02:13this is not really...fashion.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16What do you think, guys, do you like my swag?

0:02:16 > 0:02:17Is it nice, is it good?

0:02:17 > 0:02:19- Yeah.- It's good.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22With the thumbs up from the locals,

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Daniel's newest farm workers head for the field.

0:02:26 > 0:02:30Pineapples grow on these plants. It takes at least 12 months

0:02:30 > 0:02:33for each one to produce a single pineapple,

0:02:33 > 0:02:36so they are incredibly precious, and our five aren't being allowed

0:02:36 > 0:02:39anywhere near the fruit until they've proven themselves.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42This morning, they'll be gathering seedlings from the plants that

0:02:42 > 0:02:45have already had their pineapples harvested.

0:02:45 > 0:02:48We are going to pick suckers here.

0:02:48 > 0:02:52These suckers will then be replanted and will produce the next crops,

0:02:52 > 0:02:53so it's a hugely important job.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55Each one will pick one row.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00Ow, spiky!

0:03:01 > 0:03:04SHE GRUNTS

0:03:04 > 0:03:05I can't get the hang of it.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09Oh! I get this now.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12As usual, Rob is the first to get the knack.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14So far, Robert is on top.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17For a first-timer, I think he's doing quite great.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21Rob is the best at everything. I think it's a bit unfair, really.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23- What is that? - SHE SCREAMS

0:03:26 > 0:03:30There are two key points to this task - you have to work fast,

0:03:30 > 0:03:33but you also got to be incredibly gentle with the plants.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36Any damage means a loss to the company.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38I'm scared I'm pulling out the wrong thing.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41You are, you are, you are.

0:03:41 > 0:03:43You're destroying the mother plant.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45I think I just broke your plant.

0:03:51 > 0:03:52I'm so sorry.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55Unbelievably, they are damaging these precious plants.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57This is his livelihood.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59With so much damage being done,

0:03:59 > 0:04:02Daniel decides the kids need constant supervision,

0:04:02 > 0:04:05and he's got a candidate in mind.

0:04:05 > 0:04:09Look at the different between our piles. I've got like 60 more.

0:04:09 > 0:04:13I think Robert will be the best person to be my supervisor.

0:04:13 > 0:04:14What?

0:04:14 > 0:04:17- I'm a supervisor. - So he doesn't have to do it?- Yes.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22Will I be... If people are stuck, do I help them?

0:04:22 > 0:04:24- Yes.- Thank you.- You're welcome.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29I would've liked to be the supervisor, but I guess not.

0:04:31 > 0:04:35Rob has been singled out by every boss so far.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39Robert, you are very good. Keep doing.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43Robbie was really good. He was very hard working.

0:04:45 > 0:04:47And it's starting to grate on the others.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50It's really annoyed me that Rob's supervisor.

0:04:50 > 0:04:54If he starts bossing me around, I'll be so livid with him.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00If he does bother me, I'll just ask him to go away.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03I think if Emily or anyone else ignores me,

0:05:03 > 0:05:08I will step in front of them and be like,

0:05:08 > 0:05:11"You listen to me. I'm the supervisor.

0:05:11 > 0:05:13"You will do what I say."

0:05:13 > 0:05:16'Here we go. This could all go horribly wrong.'

0:05:21 > 0:05:24Work resumes with Rob as supervisor.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26Have fun, supervisor.

0:05:26 > 0:05:29But he's about to discover how the others feel about their new boss.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31So you're doing them wrong already.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33- Move over cos you're not doing it right.- Go away!

0:05:33 > 0:05:34You're not doing it right!

0:05:34 > 0:05:37He's so smug.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39- Ed.- Yeah?

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Try not to leave some behind.

0:05:41 > 0:05:45Back there they're a few you left that you could have plucked.

0:05:45 > 0:05:46Got it.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49Tough telling people to do things when they don't want to.

0:05:49 > 0:05:52Rob goes to his boss for reassurance.

0:05:52 > 0:05:55I've asked them to come back, but I feel a bit bad asking.

0:05:55 > 0:05:56Yeah, but that's the right thing to do.

0:05:56 > 0:05:59I think you need to be a little more stricter.

0:05:59 > 0:06:00Right.

0:06:00 > 0:06:04I think Daniel has tried to hammer home to Rob that when it comes

0:06:04 > 0:06:08to work, friendship has to go to one side completely, and

0:06:08 > 0:06:11that is going to be difficult for Rob cos that's his little gang now.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13Rob!

0:06:13 > 0:06:17And especially difficult as Emily is determined to punish Rob

0:06:17 > 0:06:18for his switching sides.

0:06:18 > 0:06:22Rob, as you are the leader, please, can you remove that bug?

0:06:22 > 0:06:24See, look, it's gone now, it's gone. Carry on.

0:06:24 > 0:06:26- Rob!- I'm coming!

0:06:26 > 0:06:28If it's a bad question, I swear I'm going to cry.

0:06:28 > 0:06:30Can you do this for me?

0:06:30 > 0:06:32Have you tried it?

0:06:32 > 0:06:34Rob! Help!

0:06:34 > 0:06:39Emily is running rings around Rob. She's constantly winding him up.

0:06:39 > 0:06:41I don't think Rob is enjoying this cos I'm making his job

0:06:41 > 0:06:43quite hard for him.

0:06:43 > 0:06:45We're only ten minutes into the task

0:06:45 > 0:06:48- and now Jasmine has a grievance to air.- Rob!

0:06:48 > 0:06:51- Coming.- Rob, how come you've been with Emily all the time

0:06:51 > 0:06:54- and you haven't given any of us... - You can ask her that, like...

0:06:54 > 0:06:58- You're not giving us any attention. - Yeah, I was going to.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00Why don't you just leave her up to it and just like,

0:07:00 > 0:07:02"I'm not going to help you cos you're not listening."

0:07:02 > 0:07:04Because she can't do it otherwise.

0:07:04 > 0:07:05She needs my help to be able to do it.

0:07:05 > 0:07:08You need to stand up to her, Rob.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10It seems Rob can't win either way.

0:07:11 > 0:07:16But now he's got a more pressing problem - Ed is uprooting plants.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19Show him not to pull those ones down.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26Ed, also not be careful that you're not killing the mother plant.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Find the stalk first, remember to press down on the stalk,

0:07:29 > 0:07:31don't just rip it out or you'll rip the mother plant out

0:07:31 > 0:07:32like you just did.

0:07:35 > 0:07:39Just again, be careful about not ripping the mother plant...

0:07:39 > 0:07:41He's not listening to me.

0:07:41 > 0:07:44Rob's realising it can be pretty tough at the top.

0:07:44 > 0:07:46Difficult, really difficult.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51It's annoying at times.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53I don't like being pushed around that much.

0:07:53 > 0:07:56Who'd have thought that it would be pineapples

0:07:56 > 0:07:58that break our group apart.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00If someone has had a bad attitude towards you

0:08:00 > 0:08:03while you're supervising them, what do you do?

0:08:03 > 0:08:06- You indicate that. - So I write it down there?

0:08:06 > 0:08:08Yeah, you write it down.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Done. I'm off.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15I think I might do bad in every other job I have to do

0:08:15 > 0:08:18because I don't want to be put in this position again

0:08:18 > 0:08:19because it's just...

0:08:22 > 0:08:25But there is no escape for Rob. He now has the delicate job

0:08:25 > 0:08:28of deciding who can be trusted with the actual pineapples

0:08:28 > 0:08:29in the next task.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31So let's begin with Jasmine.

0:08:31 > 0:08:35Her attitude was good. She was quite independent.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38Kathryn, again was doing good on her own.

0:08:38 > 0:08:40She didn't call me for any reasons.

0:08:40 > 0:08:45Emily called me practically every minute.

0:08:45 > 0:08:49Ed, he wasn't really listening. His attitude was not...

0:08:49 > 0:08:51- It wasn't the right attitude.- Mm.

0:08:52 > 0:08:53Here we are.

0:08:53 > 0:08:54'As the supervisor,

0:08:54 > 0:08:58'it's up to Rob do give his four friends the verdict.'

0:08:59 > 0:09:02Rob, why don't you tell us who is going to be promoted

0:09:02 > 0:09:04and who you're going to demote.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06- NERVOUSLY:- OK.

0:09:08 > 0:09:15I think Emily... No, not Emily. Kathryn and Jasmine were promoted.

0:09:15 > 0:09:16Yay.

0:09:16 > 0:09:19And Emily and Ed were demoted.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21This is not going down well.

0:09:21 > 0:09:24Rob is also promoted.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28His supervisory work, he did it quite well.

0:09:28 > 0:09:31Guys, did you have an issue with Rob being in charge?

0:09:31 > 0:09:34- Tell me the truth.- I think they did, really.- You think they did?

0:09:35 > 0:09:39It's just that he kept on spending a lot of time on Emily.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43He kept on helping her. He could've just told her what to do.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45I did many times. I told her what to do.

0:09:45 > 0:09:47So did you lose your patience?

0:09:47 > 0:09:51I did actually. I was getting frustrated to the point, you know...

0:09:51 > 0:09:54It's just a really difficult thing to tell your friends

0:09:54 > 0:09:56that they're doing something wrong.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59So now you know what it means to be a boss. It's not easy.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02Especially when you're a boss to me.

0:10:02 > 0:10:04Especially when you've got an employee like Emily.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09After a tricky day in the field, Daniel wants to build bridges

0:10:09 > 0:10:12between Rob and Emily and has invited them to his home

0:10:12 > 0:10:15to meet his 14-year-old daughter, Phoebe.

0:10:15 > 0:10:18Hello, you meet Emily.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20- I'm Phoebe.- Hello. - And this is Robert.

0:10:22 > 0:10:23My room.

0:10:25 > 0:10:29I got promoted by your dad today. He was really nice actually.

0:10:29 > 0:10:30He was a good boss.

0:10:30 > 0:10:34I didn't. I kind of did really badly and I got demoted.

0:10:34 > 0:10:36Do you work there? Do you work at the pineapple factory?

0:10:36 > 0:10:38Yeah, I work there.

0:10:38 > 0:10:41Phoebe works in the farm office in the school holidays,

0:10:41 > 0:10:43but her ambition is to be a doctor.

0:10:43 > 0:10:45These are my books.

0:10:45 > 0:10:49- I don't usually read. Only every so often.- You don't read?

0:10:49 > 0:10:50- No.- Why?

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Cos we've got a TV.

0:10:53 > 0:10:58On school days, Monday to Friday, we are not allowed to watch TV

0:10:58 > 0:11:01cos my mum says it will distract my studies.

0:11:01 > 0:11:03Cos we've got more than one TV in our house,

0:11:03 > 0:11:06I just escape to another room to watch TV.

0:11:06 > 0:11:11My mum is very strict. You always have to obey the rules in the house.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15On top of three hours of school work a night,

0:11:15 > 0:11:17Phoebe has to do household chores.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20Do you cook or clean?

0:11:20 > 0:11:24Yeah, I cook, I clean, everything that we do in the kitchen.

0:11:24 > 0:11:27Do even the little ones help out in the kitchen?

0:11:27 > 0:11:32Yeah. My brothers sometimes wash the dishes

0:11:32 > 0:11:36and my sister, she does not sweep but she tries.

0:11:36 > 0:11:38Everything in the kitchen,

0:11:38 > 0:11:42anything we do in the kitchen, we all take part like a family.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45Phoebe works so hard to help her family

0:11:45 > 0:11:49and I hardly lift a finger at home.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51I think my mum would love it if I helped out.

0:11:51 > 0:11:52She would love it.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58At home Rob and Emily live a charmed life...

0:11:58 > 0:12:00Mum, can I get a drink, please?

0:12:00 > 0:12:03..with their mums waiting on them hand and foot.

0:12:03 > 0:12:08Emily only helps me out in the house if she absolutely has to.

0:12:08 > 0:12:10She's incredibly lazy.

0:12:10 > 0:12:12My mum does a lot for me, like

0:12:12 > 0:12:14tidying my room, wash my clothes, make my food...

0:12:16 > 0:12:19It's not that I can't, it's just that I let my mum do it.

0:12:22 > 0:12:27My mum and dad do do a lot for me. They cook, they do my washing.

0:12:27 > 0:12:30I'll just be in my room watching TV.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34Robert helps me when I ask him to help me

0:12:34 > 0:12:38but it wouldn't be as in domestic housework,

0:12:38 > 0:12:40I'll just get on and do that myself.

0:12:43 > 0:12:46Phoebe's mum explains why she insists her kids do chores.

0:12:46 > 0:12:49When they help around the house, they'll grow up

0:12:49 > 0:12:53and also be able to take care of themselves,

0:12:53 > 0:12:55cos when they grow up, they will not live with me.

0:12:55 > 0:12:57They will stay on their own.

0:12:57 > 0:13:01They should be able to do things to help themselves.

0:13:01 > 0:13:04They should be able to at least cook, wash their dishes,

0:13:04 > 0:13:06wash their clothes and the rest.

0:13:06 > 0:13:10Maybe if I was more like Phoebe, our house would be a lot more functional

0:13:10 > 0:13:14because our house basically revolves around me and my needs and wants.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Phoebe, she's like Wonder Woman. She does everything.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22I think Phoebe did put me to shame and Emily

0:13:22 > 0:13:26because we don't do anything at home and she does literally everything

0:13:26 > 0:13:29you can think of. It's just amazing.

0:13:31 > 0:13:35It seems that Phoebe has brought Rob and Emily together...for now.

0:13:38 > 0:13:42The next morning and the hot topic of conversation is supervisor Rob.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47Ever since Rob demoted me, he's been sucking up to me.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49I think he feels bad. Do you feel bad?

0:13:49 > 0:13:52You know what, I actually do feel bad cos you're really mean to me

0:13:52 > 0:13:54- when I demote you. - He loves it. He likes it.

0:13:54 > 0:13:55He don't like it.

0:13:58 > 0:14:01Back at the pineapple farm and the three kids that impressed Daniel

0:14:01 > 0:14:04yesterday are being given one of the most important

0:14:04 > 0:14:05and sought-after jobs here.

0:14:06 > 0:14:12- Hello.- Hello, Stacey. - So, you're three promoted.

0:14:13 > 0:14:18And this is where we prepare the fruits ready to go to the market.

0:14:18 > 0:14:21We like our pineapples yellow, but some ripe ones can still have

0:14:21 > 0:14:25a green shell, so on the farms, they are usually sprayed to speed up

0:14:25 > 0:14:27the natural process of turning yellow.

0:14:27 > 0:14:30- This is a crucial part of the process.- Yeah.

0:14:30 > 0:14:33If you make an error, you make a mistake here,

0:14:33 > 0:14:35it's going to set Daniel back.

0:14:35 > 0:14:40I'm a bit nervous now that if I mess it up, it'll be really bad.

0:14:40 > 0:14:43'And Rob's even more anxious about doing well because Daniel is going

0:14:43 > 0:14:46'to pick the best worker to supervise

0:14:46 > 0:14:48'the final task later today.'

0:14:48 > 0:14:50So the supervisor role is up for grabs again today.

0:14:50 > 0:14:52How do we feel about that?

0:14:53 > 0:14:55Yeah, I do want to try.

0:14:55 > 0:14:59I also want it, but it's, like, these two from yesterday,

0:14:59 > 0:15:00they are kind of high up.

0:15:01 > 0:15:05It looks like Kathryn and Jasmine are keen to step into Rob's shoes,

0:15:05 > 0:15:08but they'll need to do an extremely good job to impress the boss.

0:15:10 > 0:15:13It really is quite incredible that Daniel has allowed them to come

0:15:13 > 0:15:17to this part of the farm. You know, ordinarily it takes up to two years

0:15:17 > 0:15:19for a pineapple worker to be able to get to this point,

0:15:19 > 0:15:21so it's massively important that they do deliver.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28It is extremely difficult to actually get the whole fruit,

0:15:28 > 0:15:31like, instead of just spraying the front,

0:15:31 > 0:15:33you have to go all the way around.

0:15:34 > 0:15:36Yay, power!

0:15:36 > 0:15:40'With her eye on the supervisor job, Jasmine is speeding ahead,

0:15:40 > 0:15:42'but is she taking a big risk with the pineapples?'

0:15:42 > 0:15:46You need to take your time and make sure you are covering

0:15:46 > 0:15:48- the entire circumference of the fruit.- OK.

0:15:50 > 0:15:53If the pineapples aren't sprayed evenly, the colour will be patchy,

0:15:53 > 0:15:57so the challenge is to be fast but thorough.

0:15:57 > 0:15:59I think it's going fine. I think it's simple enough,

0:15:59 > 0:16:00you've just got to keep going.

0:16:00 > 0:16:03I'm not... Oh, they're already ahead of me.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05I've got to kind of speed up now.

0:16:07 > 0:16:11On the other side of the farm, Ed and Emily are not allowed

0:16:11 > 0:16:13near plants or pineapples this morning.

0:16:13 > 0:16:17They'll be working in the pack house assembling cardboard boxes.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19- Hello, good morning.- Hi.

0:16:19 > 0:16:23Their new boss, Prince, won't accept the kind of behaviour

0:16:23 > 0:16:24that got them demoted yesterday.

0:16:24 > 0:16:28Everything done here is being taken seriously.

0:16:28 > 0:16:31Make sure you finish your task, you understand?

0:16:33 > 0:16:35The boss gives them a quick demo first.

0:16:37 > 0:16:38It's so easy and simple.

0:16:39 > 0:16:42It might look simple, but it's a tedious job,

0:16:42 > 0:16:47and Prince's workers are expected to make 1,200 of these boxes everyday.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49I'm going to leave you to do it yourself.

0:16:49 > 0:16:52- Nobody is going to help you. - All right.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54OK, but I'll be watching you, OK?

0:16:58 > 0:17:01With Rob outdoing him in every task so far,

0:17:01 > 0:17:02it's been hard for Ed to shine.

0:17:04 > 0:17:08I only get negative comments from the bosses,

0:17:08 > 0:17:12but if you ask Rob, on the other hand, he'll say,

0:17:12 > 0:17:16"Oh, it's great. I've got paid for everything we have done."

0:17:16 > 0:17:21So he's kind of a star of the show here.

0:17:21 > 0:17:23- Hi, Rob.- You all right?

0:17:23 > 0:17:26So how's your working experience been these last couple of days?

0:17:26 > 0:17:28Actually, it's been really good.

0:17:28 > 0:17:32- I've earned 60 cedis in three days. - Nice.

0:17:33 > 0:17:37Now he just has Emily to compete with, Ed's feeling positive.

0:17:37 > 0:17:41I find this really easy. It's not that complicated, really,

0:17:41 > 0:17:44once you've got the hang of it.

0:17:44 > 0:17:48And as usual, Emily's doing more moaning than working.

0:17:48 > 0:17:50My hands are hurting already.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54I think there's obviously a method, I just haven't got the method.

0:17:54 > 0:17:58- It's like...- Go faster, stop complaining. There's your method.

0:17:58 > 0:18:00Rude.

0:18:00 > 0:18:04With these boxes needed for the next shipment, the boss quickly steps in.

0:18:04 > 0:18:08- Guys, how is it? - I'm already sweating.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10Yeah, you sweat, but keep on trying.

0:18:10 > 0:18:13I've never worked this hard in my life.

0:18:13 > 0:18:17Everybody have to work hard before you can earn something.

0:18:17 > 0:18:20I can't believe people have to do this everyday.

0:18:20 > 0:18:23What I have seen is that Emily complains much.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26When she picks the box, she complains.

0:18:26 > 0:18:30After moulding it, she complains. Putting it down, she complains.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34And he's not the first boss to be unimpressed.

0:18:34 > 0:18:37Emily was just actually always complaining.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39She was really not working hard.

0:18:39 > 0:18:42Emily is not doing very well today.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44Yeah very, very bad, very bad.

0:18:44 > 0:18:45Very bad.

0:18:46 > 0:18:50But this time, Emily's boss is not prepared to let her fail.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53If I train Emily, she can be perfect.

0:18:53 > 0:18:55She can pack fruit here in this workhouse

0:18:55 > 0:18:59and she can be number one or the best packer in this house.

0:18:59 > 0:19:02Prince wants to bring out Emily's natural competitiveness.

0:19:02 > 0:19:06He's leading you by four, so you have to hurry up and catch up.

0:19:06 > 0:19:09- He's beating me.- Speed up, OK?

0:19:09 > 0:19:12I don't think you understand how I work.

0:19:12 > 0:19:13Slowly.

0:19:13 > 0:19:15Funny guy(!)

0:19:15 > 0:19:18Emily, she can do it, but she needs to be encouraged.

0:19:20 > 0:19:21I know you can do it, hurry up.

0:19:25 > 0:19:26Good, good, good.

0:19:26 > 0:19:29And Prince's encouragement seems to be working.

0:19:29 > 0:19:31I'm so going to beat you.

0:19:32 > 0:19:33I'm capable.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38I just need to prove to myself that I can do stuff

0:19:38 > 0:19:42because up until now, I thought I was really useless.

0:19:42 > 0:19:45Look, that is a decent amount of boxes.

0:19:45 > 0:19:48OK, I'm not going to say that cos Ed's done more than me, but still...

0:19:49 > 0:19:51Ed ends up with the biggest pile,

0:19:51 > 0:19:54but Emily has impressed the boss for the first time.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57Emily... Well done.

0:20:00 > 0:20:02Back in the fields, and there's a problem.

0:20:02 > 0:20:04Jasmine has messed up.

0:20:04 > 0:20:07Daniel, it looks like Jasmine has come back in on herself.

0:20:08 > 0:20:11I was just thinking if I finish off that line and went back to see

0:20:11 > 0:20:15which ones I missed because I might have done it wrong,

0:20:15 > 0:20:17and I don't really want to mess up.

0:20:17 > 0:20:19Usually, that is a wrong thing to do.

0:20:19 > 0:20:24You have to take your time and do it once and for all.

0:20:24 > 0:20:27And her move means Rob crosses the finish line first.

0:20:28 > 0:20:30Done.

0:20:30 > 0:20:32Followed by Kathryn.

0:20:32 > 0:20:33I think I did do a good enough job,

0:20:33 > 0:20:36just didn't go as fast as the others.

0:20:36 > 0:20:38But maybe Daniel will prefer it if you're more thorough

0:20:38 > 0:20:41like the way Jasmine is doing it.

0:20:41 > 0:20:45Once Jasmine has completed her work, Daniel can choose his supervisor.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47Kathryn, you did quite well.

0:20:47 > 0:20:52You started slowly but you were able to improve.

0:20:52 > 0:20:56Jasmine, you were moving so fast,

0:20:56 > 0:20:59therefore you weren't able to cover the entire circumference.

0:20:59 > 0:21:02So today, again, Robert,

0:21:02 > 0:21:05you are going to be my supervisor for the day.

0:21:07 > 0:21:10Surprise, surprise, Robert has got it again.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12Yeah, it's a bit annoying.

0:21:12 > 0:21:15- You look like you've got the hump. - Yeah.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18It just means I've got to do the task once more

0:21:18 > 0:21:20and he just has to watch me.

0:21:20 > 0:21:24I'm kind of... I feel a bit bad for the others.

0:21:24 > 0:21:27He's selecting Rob because he believes he's the best person

0:21:27 > 0:21:29for the job, so it might be worth trying to give your mate

0:21:29 > 0:21:31a little bit of support, yeah?

0:21:38 > 0:21:42'Our five are back together for their final task in Ghana.

0:21:42 > 0:21:46'The pineapples have been harvested, the boxes assembled,

0:21:46 > 0:21:49'and the last stage in the process is washing and packing them

0:21:49 > 0:21:51'to send them to us in Europe.'

0:21:51 > 0:21:52Hello, Prince.

0:21:52 > 0:21:55'Work in the pack house is fast and furious

0:21:55 > 0:21:57'and there's no room for mistakes.'

0:21:57 > 0:22:00If you don't concentrate, if any fruit falls,

0:22:00 > 0:22:02you cannot pack the fruit again,

0:22:02 > 0:22:05meaning you are causing loss to the company.

0:22:05 > 0:22:08- 'After a quick demo...' - So you do it like this.

0:22:08 > 0:22:12You handle it carefully, nicely, and you pack it into the boxes.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15'..manager Prince directs them to their work stations.'

0:22:15 > 0:22:17Let's go.

0:22:17 > 0:22:19I have no idea how they're going to cope today.

0:22:19 > 0:22:22This is the first time that they are on a real moving production line.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27Guys, don't forget, you haven't only got to listen to Prince,

0:22:27 > 0:22:30you've also got to listen to everything Rob says.

0:22:30 > 0:22:33I know you love that, Kathryn.

0:22:33 > 0:22:37'Yesterday, Rob really struggled to get the other four to listen to him,

0:22:37 > 0:22:41'so he'll have to up his game to get them to cooperate today.'

0:22:41 > 0:22:43And Rob, remember Daniel's going to be watching you

0:22:43 > 0:22:45- in your new role today as well. - Yeah.- Yeah?

0:22:45 > 0:22:48- So make it count. Off you go. - Let's do this!

0:22:54 > 0:22:57Ooh, the first pineapple is coming!

0:22:59 > 0:23:01No, don't touch it. You stay here.

0:23:01 > 0:23:04- It will come, then you put it in the box.- Sorry. OK.

0:23:06 > 0:23:09Small pineapples will be sent to Ed and Kathryn's side,

0:23:09 > 0:23:11and larger ones to Emily and Jasmine's.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13Why are they getting so many?

0:23:13 > 0:23:17They've barely begun and already there's a pile-up on one side.

0:23:17 > 0:23:19I just stopped for one second

0:23:19 > 0:23:21and then this just happened.

0:23:21 > 0:23:24Yeah. Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up.

0:23:24 > 0:23:27Ed and Kathryn's pile is really starting to stack up now.

0:23:27 > 0:23:31It just goes to show you've got to be so fast and so on it here.

0:23:31 > 0:23:34Don't think we realised it would be this fast.

0:23:34 > 0:23:37There's just pineapples coming all the time.

0:23:37 > 0:23:40Ed, I know it's hard, but pick up the pace a bit.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43After getting a rough ride as supervisor yesterday,

0:23:43 > 0:23:47Rob's reluctant to be too bossy, but he needs to make his voice heard.

0:23:47 > 0:23:48Come on, guys.

0:23:50 > 0:23:52Be gentle with them. Try not to hold them by the crown,

0:23:52 > 0:23:54hold them by the actual...

0:23:54 > 0:23:56Guys, are you listening to your supervisor?

0:23:56 > 0:23:59Right now I really do wish I was a supervisor

0:23:59 > 0:24:03cos he's just kind of standing there telling us what to do.

0:24:03 > 0:24:05I don't know whether or not Rob is slightly overwhelmed

0:24:05 > 0:24:09about being selected to be supervisor second time around.

0:24:09 > 0:24:11He's giving out a lot of orders,

0:24:11 > 0:24:14but he's definitely a lot less hands-on than he was.

0:24:14 > 0:24:18- Start packing.- OK, there's loads coming.- Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa.

0:24:18 > 0:24:19Whoa, Jas, quick!

0:24:19 > 0:24:21- There's too much! - EMILY SCREAMS

0:24:21 > 0:24:24But as Emily and Jasmine start to lose control of their side...

0:24:24 > 0:24:27As soon as you think you've caught up, more come down.

0:24:27 > 0:24:30..Rob stops worrying and starts acting.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33Get some boxes, get some boxes. Emily, there's two boxes there.

0:24:33 > 0:24:37- Got it?- No.- Get a new box, get a new box. Are there any new boxes?

0:24:37 > 0:24:39Kathryn, you OK?

0:24:39 > 0:24:41- Er, yeah. Can you take that for me, Rob?- Yep.

0:24:43 > 0:24:46And this time his efforts are appreciated.

0:24:46 > 0:24:50We do have Rob helping us every step of the way.

0:24:50 > 0:24:51It is his first time.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54I'm giving him such a big role as a supervisor.

0:24:54 > 0:24:57I mean, he did it himself and started doing something.

0:24:57 > 0:25:00Yeah, and it's perfect.

0:25:00 > 0:25:02Emily, we need to get wages today!

0:25:04 > 0:25:06Come on, guys, you're doing well.

0:25:06 > 0:25:08Rob's struggles yesterday are forgotten

0:25:08 > 0:25:10and everyone finally pulls together.

0:25:10 > 0:25:12I think everyone's doing pretty well.

0:25:12 > 0:25:15Ed and Kathryn have cleared up that pile that were on the mat.

0:25:17 > 0:25:18Well done, you guys. Doing well.

0:25:18 > 0:25:21If you look at our five now, I've never seen them work so fast

0:25:21 > 0:25:24and so hard. I'm very, very proud.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28I think we are finished.

0:25:28 > 0:25:31- Whoo!- Well done. - I'm not ready to stop.

0:25:31 > 0:25:34- I'm determined to finish, which is a first.- I like that.

0:25:34 > 0:25:38Prince, I don't know what you've done cos never in the history

0:25:38 > 0:25:41of Emily's existence has she uttered them words.

0:25:41 > 0:25:42I'll tell you, I'll tell you.

0:25:42 > 0:25:46When she finished moulding the boxes, I psych her up.

0:25:46 > 0:25:50I told her she can do better and I think that has motivated her.

0:25:52 > 0:25:54- Emily, my girl, I'm so proud.- Whoo!

0:25:58 > 0:26:01They all head to the boardroom to find out how Daniel

0:26:01 > 0:26:04will rate their overall performance.

0:26:04 > 0:26:08I think Jasmine is a very hard-working girl.

0:26:08 > 0:26:13My only problem is that she tends to rush through the work.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16I think Kathryn is marvellous.

0:26:16 > 0:26:20Marvellous? Kathryn.

0:26:20 > 0:26:22How's our Ed done?

0:26:22 > 0:26:28Ed is a slow starter, but I was really impressed with what

0:26:28 > 0:26:31I came to see at the pack house.

0:26:31 > 0:26:36Emily, I was really astonished with the way she worked today.

0:26:36 > 0:26:41- Looking at what she did yesterday... - That's a first.

0:26:41 > 0:26:44Emily, you've just taken the words right out of my mouth.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47I am so happy to hear your boss speak of you like that.

0:26:47 > 0:26:50Thank you. I don't know what to say.

0:26:50 > 0:26:52This is what I've said to you along the whole way.

0:26:52 > 0:26:57I know you can do it, and when you try, evidently, you're pretty good.

0:26:57 > 0:26:58Can we talk about Robbie?

0:26:58 > 0:27:01- I'm thrilled at his performance. - Thrilled?

0:27:01 > 0:27:03- Yes.- Thrilled with Robbie.

0:27:03 > 0:27:07I think his age and what he's able to do,

0:27:07 > 0:27:10I believe he's someone who can go places.

0:27:10 > 0:27:13'For the first time all five of our kids have got great feedback,

0:27:13 > 0:27:15'but have they done enough?'

0:27:15 > 0:27:18So, Daniel, would you hire any of them?

0:27:18 > 0:27:20Yes, first I will go for Robert.

0:27:22 > 0:27:24I would go for Kathryn.

0:27:24 > 0:27:26And I would go for Jasmine.

0:27:26 > 0:27:31And if you could tell us who you're prepared to pay a wage for today.

0:27:31 > 0:27:34From what has happened since yesterday,

0:27:34 > 0:27:37I believe all of them deserve to be paid.

0:27:37 > 0:27:38Woo-hoo!

0:27:41 > 0:27:42Emily, this is your first wage

0:27:42 > 0:27:44and I'm so happy you're going with a wage.

0:27:44 > 0:27:46I really, really am. So well done.

0:27:46 > 0:27:51Here are your wages, every single one of you.

0:27:53 > 0:27:55Next time on Show Me What You're Made Of,

0:27:55 > 0:27:57we move to South Africa.

0:27:57 > 0:27:58Where is my tool?

0:27:58 > 0:28:00And it's Rob's toughest test yet.

0:28:00 > 0:28:02Now I've hit a wall or something

0:28:02 > 0:28:03and I want to be able to carry on.

0:28:03 > 0:28:05Will the pressure of the factory...

0:28:05 > 0:28:08- We're meant to put them back. - Which pile?- ..prove too much?

0:28:08 > 0:28:10Give me a cuddle. Don't be silly.
