0:14:37 > 0:14:39CHEERING
0:14:42 > 0:14:44What a start to the show. Well done, guys.
0:14:44 > 0:14:47Let's see what the judges thought of those performances.
0:14:47 > 0:14:50Carrie, first time hearing all the groups sing together, what did you think?
0:14:50 > 0:14:52When they sang together at the end,
0:14:52 > 0:14:55you all managed that chorus in tune and brilliantly,
0:14:55 > 0:14:58so I don't know what happened when you were singing individually
0:14:58 > 0:15:02because there was some very, very out of tune singing going on there.
0:15:02 > 0:15:06MT13, I love watching you. I love your attitude.
0:15:06 > 0:15:08It's a really hard verse to sing
0:15:08 > 0:15:10when you're young like you are, it's very, very low.
0:15:10 > 0:15:12But you could have played around with that
0:15:12 > 0:15:14and played it to your advantage like Abstract did.
0:15:14 > 0:15:17I know you're older, but actually your verse was brilliant.
0:15:17 > 0:15:20I loved the way you played with the harmonies,
0:15:20 > 0:15:21completely changed the melody.
0:15:21 > 0:15:25However, it got so complicated by the time you got to your bridge
0:15:25 > 0:15:27and chorus, it was out of tune,
0:15:27 > 0:15:29but it was the most interesting to watch and listen to.
0:15:29 > 0:15:34You're very interesting. Encore, the most consistent vocals there.
0:15:34 > 0:15:37I almost wanted you to be a little bit more adventurous,
0:15:37 > 0:15:40but actually probably the most on it in terms of the tuning.
0:15:40 > 0:15:43Thank you, Carrie. David, did you like it?
0:15:43 > 0:15:46Yeah, I loved the performance, I loved the visuals,
0:15:46 > 0:15:49but I have to agree with what Carrie said that I thought the verse was
0:15:49 > 0:15:54too low for MT13, so I think it should have been changed.
0:15:54 > 0:15:56Encore, you're older
0:15:56 > 0:16:00so your voices were able to manage the low parts of the melody better.
0:16:00 > 0:16:04I felt you were very together but quite rushed
0:16:04 > 0:16:07and I like you to sit back more and groove more on your next song.
0:16:07 > 0:16:10Abstract, you've got loads of identity.
0:16:10 > 0:16:12I like the fact that you played around with it,
0:16:12 > 0:16:14you changed it to suit your style.
0:16:14 > 0:16:17I think the syncopation really works for me.
0:16:17 > 0:16:20I would say that what you've done is you've taken it
0:16:20 > 0:16:22and you've made it something that's yours.
0:16:23 > 0:16:25Thank you very much, David.
0:16:26 > 0:16:27John, your thoughts.
0:16:27 > 0:16:31Obviously without repeating David and Carrie,
0:16:31 > 0:16:34what they said I agree with, they are quite spot-on, there was
0:16:34 > 0:16:37some tuning issues, but the reality is what I'm looking at.
0:16:37 > 0:16:41Visually I would say all three acts on this stage are probably
0:16:41 > 0:16:43the best I've seen so far in these rounds.
0:16:43 > 0:16:47Just looks really good, like pop stars all of you.
0:16:47 > 0:16:49So keep up the good work.
0:16:49 > 0:16:52Encore, I did like your performance a little bit more.
0:16:55 > 0:16:57Sisco, which act did it for you, mate?
0:16:57 > 0:16:59There's a little critique for everyone cos I think
0:16:59 > 0:17:01congratulations in getting this far.
0:17:01 > 0:17:03This is the first time I see all three of you,
0:17:03 > 0:17:06so naturally my impression of you guys is slightly different
0:17:06 > 0:17:07because it's the first time I hear it.
0:17:07 > 0:17:11MT13, love the look, love the attitude, you've got that spot-on.
0:17:11 > 0:17:14Don't let complex choreography compromise the vocals.
0:17:14 > 0:17:17Remember, the vocals have to be the priority.
0:17:17 > 0:17:19You have to work on projection cos there's eight of you,
0:17:19 > 0:17:20I'm hearing four of you.
0:17:20 > 0:17:24Like Carrie said, it was too low, so maybe you should have
0:17:24 > 0:17:26played around with it, change the song to suit your strengths,
0:17:26 > 0:17:28just like Abstract did.
0:17:28 > 0:17:31That haunting melody was great, I loved how you changed it.
0:17:31 > 0:17:35It was very ambitious and I think taking that risk really worked,
0:17:35 > 0:17:38but, yes, it did get a bit pitchy, but I love it.
0:17:38 > 0:17:42Encore, sounded pretty, but I need to be wowed. Pretty's not enough.
0:17:42 > 0:17:46I need you guys to take a risk and indulge in your performance,
0:17:46 > 0:17:47so be a bit more full out.
0:17:48 > 0:17:50Thank you.
0:17:50 > 0:17:55We learnt a new word as well. S-s... Whatever David said.
0:17:55 > 0:17:58Whilst we check and verify the scores for Round One,
0:17:58 > 0:18:01let's take a look at some messages from our celebrity chums.
0:18:01 > 0:18:05If you want to get involved, grab a grown-up and visit the CBBC website.
0:18:05 > 0:18:08On that website you can find out how you can get involved.

0:18:11 > 0:18:13- See you there.- Love you.
0:18:15 > 0:18:17The scores are being checked and verified
0:18:17 > 0:18:19and the results from Round One are in,
0:18:19 > 0:18:22so it's over to my suited and booted friend Mr Sam Nixon.
0:18:22 > 0:18:24Cheers, mate.
0:18:24 > 0:18:27I can reveal that the judges' combined score for MT13
0:18:27 > 0:18:30out a possible 120 points is...
0:18:39 > 0:18:42The judges' combined score for Encore is...
0:18:49 > 0:18:52The judges' combined score for Abstract is...
0:18:57 > 0:19:01Guys, still all to play for, there's still one more challenge to go, but
0:19:01 > 0:19:05before that let's take a look at the scoreboard after round number one.
0:19:05 > 0:19:08Fantastic Round One for Abstract
0:19:08 > 0:19:10who take the lead with 80 points.
0:19:10 > 0:19:11Encore with 66.
0:19:11 > 0:19:14And MT13 with 61 points have some
0:19:14 > 0:19:15catching up to do in Round Two.
0:19:15 > 0:19:17But with 120 points available
0:19:17 > 0:19:18to each group,
0:19:18 > 0:19:20it could go anybody's way.
0:19:20 > 0:19:22Well done, glee clubs and relax.
0:19:22 > 0:19:25The good news is John thinks you all look like pop stars,
0:19:25 > 0:19:29so that's fantastic news. MT13, Sisco loving your attitude,
0:19:29 > 0:19:31loving your style, but thought maybe that your dancing
0:19:31 > 0:19:33compromised your vocals a little bit.
0:19:33 > 0:19:36Anything you'd like to say about that?
0:19:36 > 0:19:38We'll just try our best to work on the judges' comments
0:19:38 > 0:19:40if we get through.
0:19:40 > 0:19:43Do you think he was right about your vocals? Is it a hard song to sing?
0:19:43 > 0:19:46Yeah, it's a really hard song to sing cos it's so low.
0:19:46 > 0:19:49- You have struggled with it?- Yeah.
0:19:49 > 0:19:51You've got another chance to impress them,
0:19:51 > 0:19:53so don't worry too much at this stage.
0:19:53 > 0:19:56Encore, they thought you were the most consistent of the groups,
0:19:56 > 0:19:58so that's good, but David wants you to sit back
0:19:58 > 0:20:02and groove more in your next song. How are you going to do that?
0:20:02 > 0:20:06It's a great song, the song we're doing next, It's My Party -
0:20:06 > 0:20:10Jessie J, and it's really funky and we all get really into it.
0:20:10 > 0:20:12- So you're feeling confident for the next one?- Yeah.
0:20:12 > 0:20:13Good luck, Encore.
0:20:13 > 0:20:17Abstract, they loved your melody, the haunting sounds, but what
0:20:17 > 0:20:22do you think about the comments about the bridge and the chorus?
0:20:22 > 0:20:26They were really fair. I think we all knew there was slight tuning issues.
0:20:26 > 0:20:29But we know we can work on it for the next round.
0:20:29 > 0:20:33Take it on and show them what we're made of.
0:20:33 > 0:20:37You all have one more song to sing. It's back over to you, boys.
0:20:37 > 0:20:38Thanks.

0:21:47 > 0:21:49a show stopping performance.
0:21:49 > 0:21:52They need to score as many points as they can to secure a top spot on
0:21:52 > 0:21:54the Glee Club leaderboard.
0:21:54 > 0:21:57Remember, only the top five will go through to the live finals.

0:22:02 > 0:22:04Round Two - Survival Song.
0:22:04 > 0:22:05The groups will have to give it

0:22:10 > 0:22:14They're from Port Talbot in Wales, let's find out a little bit more
0:22:14 > 0:22:16about MT13 and their journey to the heats.
0:22:19 > 0:22:21MT13 first burst onto the glee club scene
0:22:21 > 0:22:24when they performed in Cardiff.
0:22:24 > 0:22:26Good moves.
0:22:26 > 0:22:28That's incredible.
0:22:28 > 0:22:31# They're just like water off my
0:22:31 > 0:22:34# Wings
0:22:34 > 0:22:36# Oh... #
0:22:36 > 0:22:39And John wasn't the only one who could see some strong potential from
0:22:39 > 0:22:41the Welsh girl group.
0:22:41 > 0:22:43# Don't let what they say keep you up at night
0:22:43 > 0:22:46# And they can't detain you
0:22:46 > 0:22:50# Cos wings are made to fly. #
0:22:50 > 0:22:52Soloists were fabulous.
0:22:52 > 0:22:54I loved that you're all individuals
0:22:54 > 0:22:57and you bring your own thing to the piece.
0:22:57 > 0:22:59You got swagger.
0:22:59 > 0:23:00I love that.
0:23:00 > 0:23:02It's good that we heard those comments,
0:23:02 > 0:23:05but really we didn't know what to expect.
0:23:05 > 0:23:11The second group going through to the studio heats is...
0:23:11 > 0:23:12MT13.
0:23:15 > 0:23:20But can MT13 stay focused and deliver the same energy in Glasgow
0:23:20 > 0:23:24at the studio heats, or will the competition prove too tough?
0:23:24 > 0:23:26Have you been rehearsing hard?
0:23:26 > 0:23:29We practised last night for four hours straight.
0:23:29 > 0:23:31- Four hours last night?- Yeah.
0:23:31 > 0:23:33Your hair looks good, who crimped it for you?
0:23:33 > 0:23:37- All the girls.- Two hours. - Two hours to crimp that hair?
0:23:37 > 0:23:40Four hours rehearsing, two hours doing the hair,
0:23:40 > 0:23:42gosh, a lot of prep for this show.
0:23:42 > 0:23:44We were watching TV, so we were just like that...
0:23:44 > 0:23:46And watching telly? Yeah, you've got to watch CBBC too.
0:23:51 > 0:23:53They are hoping that the judges want to see them perform again.
0:23:53 > 0:23:56Singing I Want You Back it's MT13.
0:23:56 > 0:23:58CHEERING
0:24:10 > 0:24:13# Uh-huh, huh, huh, whoa
0:24:13 > 0:24:15# Let me tell you now
0:24:15 > 0:24:17# Ah

0:24:19 > 0:24:22# When I had you to myself
0:24:22 > 0:24:24# I didn't want you around
0:24:24 > 0:24:29# Those pretty faces always made you stand out in a crowd
0:24:29 > 0:24:34# But someone picked you from the bunch, one glance was all it took
0:24:34 > 0:24:36# Now it's much too late for me
0:24:36 > 0:24:39# To take a second look
0:24:39 > 0:24:42# Oh, baby, give me one more chance
0:24:42 > 0:24:44# To show you that I love you
0:24:44 > 0:24:49- # Won't you please let me - Back in your heart
0:24:49 > 0:24:52# Oh, darlin', I was blind to let you go
0:24:52 > 0:24:54# Let you go, baby
0:24:54 > 0:24:58# Now since I see you in his arms I want you back
0:24:58 > 0:25:01- # Yes, I do now - I want you back
0:25:01 > 0:25:03- # Ooh, ooh, baby - I want you back
0:25:03 > 0:25:06# Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I want you back
0:25:06 > 0:25:07# Na, na, na, na

0:25:32 > 0:25:35- Well done, guys!- Nice work, guys!
0:25:35 > 0:25:39- Shall we go over to the judges and see what they thought?- Yeah!
0:25:39 > 0:25:42- Why not?- David, did you enjoy that performance?
0:25:42 > 0:25:43I really enjoyed that performance.
0:25:43 > 0:25:46It was entertaining, there was energy, there was attitude.
0:25:46 > 0:25:49There were the odd vocal discrepancies here and there,
0:25:49 > 0:25:52but, for me, they were completely overridden
0:25:52 > 0:25:55by the energy you put into it, by the fact it was a real performance.
0:25:55 > 0:25:57That's more you. That really suited you,
0:25:57 > 0:26:00and you really gave it everything you had. Well done.
0:26:00 > 0:26:02ALL: Thank you!
0:26:02 > 0:26:04APPLAUSE
0:26:04 > 0:26:06John, what did you think?
0:26:06 > 0:26:09Even just if it was for that performance alone,
0:26:09 > 0:26:12you deserve to be here. That was awesome.
0:26:12 > 0:26:14APPLAUSE
0:26:14 > 0:26:17Sisco, vocally, do you think that was good enough?
0:26:17 > 0:26:19Vocally, I never knew you had that in you.
0:26:19 > 0:26:22When I just saw your version of Mirrors I thought,
0:26:22 > 0:26:25"Oh, they're just a dance group," but you guys can actually sing!
0:26:25 > 0:26:27You have an amazing soloist,
0:26:27 > 0:26:29David did point out a few problems here and there,
0:26:29 > 0:26:32but I didn't care, because I was enjoying it.
0:26:32 > 0:26:34You're all adorable, I love your style.
0:26:34 > 0:26:38- You guys need to be in those finals. - Nice!
0:26:38 > 0:26:41Praise indeed. Carrie, what do you think of the overall performance?
0:26:41 > 0:26:44I thought the overall performance was fantastic.
0:26:44 > 0:26:47- What is your name, young lady with the hat?- Tegan.
0:26:47 > 0:26:49Tegan, I need to remember that name,
0:26:49 > 0:26:51because you're going to be in our industry when you're older.

0:27:18 > 0:27:20- Awesome.- Really good.
0:27:20 > 0:27:23I mean, Sisco said he didn't think you had it in you
0:27:23 > 0:27:27after that first song, and now he thinks you need to be in the finals?
0:27:27 > 0:27:30- We pulled it out of the bag. - And what did you say?
0:27:30 > 0:27:33- He wants to see us in the finals. - I know. How did that feel?
0:27:33 > 0:27:36- Awesome!- Amazing! - I hope we get that far.
0:27:36 > 0:27:40Madam, Tegan, Carrie said some lovely things to you.
0:27:40 > 0:27:42What are your ambitions for the future?
0:27:42 > 0:27:44To perform on the West End or Broadway.
0:27:44 > 0:27:47- So you want to be in the industry? - Yeah.- Well, that's a good start!
0:27:47 > 0:27:51You've done everything you can, MT13. Let's go back to the studio.
0:27:51 > 0:27:53Thanks very much, Naomi.
0:27:53 > 0:27:55Now, our next act is from Harrogate in Yorkshire and,
0:27:55 > 0:27:57just because I'm from Yorkshire,
0:27:57 > 0:28:01doesn't mean that they going to get any more support than the others.
0:28:01 > 0:28:04COME ON, ENCORE! Bring that trophy home to Yorkshire, all right?!
0:28:04 > 0:28:06That's enough! You're supposed to be impartial.
0:28:06 > 0:28:09Let's take a look at Encore and their exciting journey to the heats.
0:28:09 > 0:28:11They're from Yorkshire!
0:28:11 > 0:28:14Welcome back. Some old, some new, right?
0:28:14 > 0:28:16Encore were back again
0:28:16 > 0:28:20and on impressive form when they met John in Manchester.
0:28:20 > 0:28:22You've definitely given me something to think about,
0:28:22 > 0:28:25and I'm glad that you've come back again this year.
0:28:25 > 0:28:28# Into the fire Feeling higher than the truth
0:28:28 > 0:28:30# I'm falling
0:28:30 > 0:28:32# I can feel the heat but I'm not burning... #
0:28:32 > 0:28:36But the panel spotted the key area where the group could improve.
0:28:36 > 0:28:38# Feeling tired and hungry too I'm falling
0:28:38 > 0:28:40# Feels like I'm falling... #
0:28:40 > 0:28:43I really, really like the song and I thought you did it really well.
0:28:43 > 0:28:47I think, when you were dancing, you forgot about your vocals,
0:28:47 > 0:28:51so I think less dancing and remember the vocals are the main thing.
0:28:53 > 0:28:56It was constructive, and it's something that we can work on now,
0:28:56 > 0:28:59and it's coming from such a strong singer like herself.
0:28:59 > 0:29:04The first group going through to the studio heats is...
0:29:04 > 0:29:07- Encore. - THEY SCREAM
0:29:07 > 0:29:11So, have Encore listened to the advice from the judges,
0:29:11 > 0:29:14and can they deliver a beautiful vocal sound in the studio heats?
0:29:14 > 0:29:17How have the rehearsals gone?
0:29:17 > 0:29:19- Good, we've been working hard. - Have you?
0:29:19 > 0:29:23Yeah, been going to each other's houses a lot and practising.
0:29:23 > 0:29:26So you just make space in someone's lounge, do you?
0:29:26 > 0:29:28Yeah, and eat pizza.
0:29:29 > 0:29:32'We got advice to cut a bit of the dancing out,'
0:29:32 > 0:29:34so we've really gone hard on the vocals,
0:29:34 > 0:29:37- so hopefully it'll show. - Fingers crossed.
0:29:39 > 0:29:44Singing and dancing for a place in the live finals...
0:29:44 > 0:29:47..it's Encore with It's My Party.
0:29:47 > 0:29:50APPLAUSE
0:29:58 > 0:30:00Let's go!
0:30:00 > 0:30:03# You're stuck in a playground
0:30:03 > 0:30:07# And I'm a grown woman now
0:30:07 > 0:30:10# Considering you hate me
0:30:10 > 0:30:13# You're stalking like you made me
0:30:13 > 0:30:17# So why you acting like you're tough?
0:30:17 > 0:30:20# But now I thought you'd had enough
0:30:20 > 0:30:24# Don't you get tired of being rude?
0:30:25 > 0:30:28# Aww, come give me a hug, dude
0:30:28 > 0:30:31Let's go! # It's my party
0:30:31 > 0:30:33# I do, do what I want
0:30:33 > 0:30:36# Do, do what I want
0:30:36 > 0:30:38# So while you sit and watch me
0:30:38 > 0:30:40# I keep dancing alone
0:30:40 > 0:30:43# Da-dancing alone
0:30:43 > 0:30:47# So put this record on and keep it going till I say stop
0:30:47 > 0:30:51# If you were wondering if I really care, well, I do not
0:30:51 > 0:30:53# Cos it's my party
0:30:53 > 0:30:55# I do, do what I want
0:30:55 > 0:30:58# Do, do what I want
0:30:58 > 0:31:01# Who-o-o-oa
0:31:01 > 0:31:04# Who-o-oa
0:31:05 > 0:31:08# Who-o-o-oa
0:31:08 > 0:31:11# Who-o-oa #
0:31:14 > 0:31:17APPLAUSE
0:31:18 > 0:31:21Stand easy, girls, stand easy!
0:31:21 > 0:31:24OK, John, are you going to book Encore for your party?
0:31:24 > 0:31:26Well, I was going to book them,
0:31:26 > 0:31:29but, after that performance, I think they'll be too expensive.
0:31:29 > 0:31:32- Nice!- Sisco, was that a good song choice for you?
0:31:32 > 0:31:34It was a good song choice,
0:31:34 > 0:31:38but I think it was an inconsistent performance, if I was to be honest.
0:31:38 > 0:31:41I love you guys, I think you're so adorable, very likeable,
0:31:41 > 0:31:43and I think that's important if you do get to the finals,
0:31:43 > 0:31:45people will naturally like you,
0:31:45 > 0:31:48but all your soloists, in my opinion, shouldn't be soloists.
0:31:48 > 0:31:52Play with your strengths, find one or two girls that will kill it
0:31:52 > 0:31:55when it comes to vocals, so then when you come with the harmonies,
0:31:55 > 0:31:58which are strong and solid, then you have a more consistent performance.
0:31:58 > 0:32:02It was a little too shaky for me. It wasn't strong enough.
0:32:02 > 0:32:04- You know why they're likable, don't you, Sisco?- Why?
0:32:04 > 0:32:06They're from Yorkshire!
0:32:06 > 0:32:10We're likeable people! Carrie, were you impressed?
0:32:10 > 0:32:14Whilst it was nice, there wasn't that..."grrr" that it needs.
0:32:14 > 0:32:17It needed snap, it needed pace, it needed energy.
0:32:17 > 0:32:18It's good...
0:32:18 > 0:32:22but it doesn't have that magic that it needs to be a Jessie J song.
0:32:22 > 0:32:25- It has to have more punch. - OK. David, your thoughts, please?
0:32:25 > 0:32:29I think that there's nothing wrong with it, it was actually very good,
0:32:29 > 0:32:32it was really slick, it was really smooth, it was really together.
0:32:32 > 0:32:34It was just a bit passive.
0:32:34 > 0:32:37It just needs a bit more oomph, a bit more attitude,
0:32:37 > 0:32:41a bit more aggression, a bit more Yorkshire!
0:32:41 > 0:32:44- OK, thank you, judges. Brilliant. - What we need, we need a "grrr!"
0:32:44 > 0:32:47Give us a "grrr!"
0:32:47 > 0:32:48- GIRLS:- Grr!
0:32:48 > 0:32:53- There we go!- Thank you very much. Give it up for Encore, everyone!
0:32:53 > 0:32:54APPLAUSE
0:32:56 > 0:33:00Hello! Come back and join me. Hello, ladies.
0:33:00 > 0:33:03So, how do you feel your performance went, then?
0:33:03 > 0:33:06- It could've gone better.- Do you feel like you could have done it better?
0:33:06 > 0:33:10- We've definitely rehearsed it better than that.- Really? What went wrong?
0:33:10 > 0:33:14- I just feel like our nerves took over.- You got some good comments.
0:33:14 > 0:33:17David did say you were slick, you were together, you were good,
0:33:17 > 0:33:20but they generally thought you lacked a bit of oomph.
0:33:20 > 0:33:22Do you think that was fair? What would you like to say to that?
0:33:22 > 0:33:25It's just a shame, because we've all got it.
0:33:25 > 0:33:29In rehearsals, we definitely have the oomph to perform this piece.
0:33:29 > 0:33:32It's just a shame that didn't come across.
0:33:32 > 0:33:33Do you think it's a nerves thing?
0:33:33 > 0:33:37Maybe it's just in the moment, you forget about it and you're focusing
0:33:37 > 0:33:41on your singing and dancing, and you just don't want to mess up.
0:33:41 > 0:33:44Well, don't be downhearted, girls, because John doesn't even think
0:33:44 > 0:33:46he'll be able to afford to book you, so that's good!
0:33:46 > 0:33:49So, on that note, let's hand back to Sam and Mark.
0:33:49 > 0:33:53Thank you, Naomi. Our last act to perform is from Brighton.
0:33:53 > 0:33:56Did you know that Brighton is home to the world's oldest aquarium
0:33:56 > 0:33:58as well as the world's largest sea horse,
0:33:58 > 0:34:01which you can ride daily between three and four?
0:34:01 > 0:34:04Yeah. Let's meet Abstract.
0:34:06 > 0:34:08# I will survive... #
0:34:08 > 0:34:10Abstract made a great impression on John
0:34:10 > 0:34:13when they met for the first time in London.
0:34:13 > 0:34:16I'm grateful that you came prepared. It sounds like you've worked hard.
0:34:16 > 0:34:18We are Abstract!
0:34:18 > 0:34:20# Go on, now, go
0:34:20 > 0:34:22# Walk out the door
0:34:22 > 0:34:24# Just turn around now
0:34:24 > 0:34:26# Cos you're not welcome any more... #
0:34:26 > 0:34:30And the panel couldn't help but notice the group's unique style.
0:34:30 > 0:34:31# You think I'd crumble?
0:34:31 > 0:34:33# You think I'd lay down and die?
0:34:33 > 0:34:35# Oh, no, not I... #
0:34:35 > 0:34:38If that was your style across every song that you tried to sing,
0:34:38 > 0:34:42- I would be... You fascinate me, you interest me.- Thank you.
0:34:42 > 0:34:47I think you had a few timing issues with your dancing choreography,
0:34:47 > 0:34:51so just be careful of that and be confident about what you're doing.
0:34:52 > 0:34:54You survived!
0:34:54 > 0:34:56THEY CHEER
0:34:56 > 0:35:01The second group going through to the studio heats is...
0:35:01 > 0:35:03Abstract.
0:35:05 > 0:35:08But after surviving the judges' auditions,
0:35:08 > 0:35:12can Abstract sharpen up and continue to stand out from the crowd
0:35:12 > 0:35:15- at the studio heats? - Are you prepared?- Yes.
0:35:15 > 0:35:18- We're ready.- What's the rehearsal period been like?
0:35:18 > 0:35:21- Stressful.- So much fun.
0:35:21 > 0:35:23You look lovely. Who chose your dress and your styles?
0:35:23 > 0:35:27We all kind of did it and then we had them specially made
0:35:27 > 0:35:30- so that was really nice. - Julia, thank you!- Thank you, Julia!
0:35:30 > 0:35:32Well done, Julia!
0:35:34 > 0:35:36APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:35:36 > 0:35:39They are our last act to perform for the judges.
0:35:39 > 0:35:41Let's hope they can add some precious points to their score.
0:35:41 > 0:35:44Singing and dancing for a place in the live finals,
0:35:44 > 0:35:47it's Abstract and You Keep Me Hangin' On!
0:35:47 > 0:35:48APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:35:56 > 0:35:59# Set me free, why don't you, babe?
0:35:59 > 0:36:03# Get out my life Why don't you, babe?
0:36:03 > 0:36:05# Cos you don't really love me
0:36:05 > 0:36:09# You just keep me hangin' on
0:36:09 > 0:36:13# Oooh, you don't really need me
0:36:13 > 0:36:17# But you keep me hangin' on
0:36:17 > 0:36:20- # Oooh - Why do you keep coming around?
0:36:20 > 0:36:24# Playing with my heart
0:36:24 > 0:36:27- # Oooh- Why don't you get out of my life
0:36:27 > 0:36:30# And let me make a new start?
0:36:31 > 0:36:34# Let me get over you
0:36:34 > 0:36:38# The way you've gotten over me
0:36:38 > 0:36:41# Set me free, why don't you, babe?
0:36:41 > 0:36:45# Let me be, why don't you, babe?
0:36:45 > 0:36:48# Cos you don't really love me
0:36:48 > 0:36:51# You just keep me hangin' on
0:36:51 > 0:36:53# Oooh
0:36:53 > 0:36:55# No, you don't really want me
0:36:55 > 0:36:59# You just keep me hangin' on
0:36:59 > 0:37:03- # Oooh - You say although we broke up
0:37:03 > 0:37:06# You still wanna be just friends
0:37:06 > 0:37:10- # Oooh - But how can we still be friends
0:37:10 > 0:37:13# When seeing you only breaks my heart again?
0:37:13 > 0:37:16And there ain't nothin' I can do about it.
0:37:16 > 0:37:18# Oooh. #
0:37:18 > 0:37:21APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:37:25 > 0:37:28Sisqo, did you enjoy that performance?
0:37:28 > 0:37:30I did. You looked good, you sounded good.
0:37:30 > 0:37:33But I think if you get through you have to give a bit more.
0:37:33 > 0:37:37Try and do research into what the song came from, where it's about...
0:37:37 > 0:37:41What it's about, excuse me, because that's a soulful song.
0:37:41 > 0:37:44So it just needed that kind of Sister Sledge...yeah!
0:37:44 > 0:37:47Kind of feel to it. And it was just a bit like..."ba-duh".
0:37:47 > 0:37:51It needed a bit more, like, fried chicken.
0:37:51 > 0:37:52LAUGHTER
0:37:52 > 0:37:54Will.I.am!
0:37:54 > 0:37:56Carrie, what were your thoughts?
0:37:56 > 0:37:58I love your vocal arrangements.
0:37:58 > 0:38:03I love the way that you use all the harmonies underneath the melody line.
0:38:03 > 0:38:04I love that sound.
0:38:04 > 0:38:07It just is pitchy in places,
0:38:07 > 0:38:09and you've got to really stick with the tuning.
0:38:09 > 0:38:12You've really got to listen to those notes.
0:38:12 > 0:38:16I love what you're about. I love that you took it in a different direction.
0:38:16 > 0:38:18I think you're really original and different,
0:38:18 > 0:38:20you are unique, and I love your performance.
0:38:20 > 0:38:23Thank you, Carrie.
0:38:23 > 0:38:25Now, David, that's quite an old song.
0:38:25 > 0:38:27Was it the right song choice, do you think?
0:38:27 > 0:38:29I think for this group it was a great song choice
0:38:29 > 0:38:32because they take vintage music and make it contemporary,
0:38:32 > 0:38:35and I think they did that. That was a Supremes song from the '60s
0:38:35 > 0:38:37but you didn't do it like the Supremes.
0:38:37 > 0:38:40You did your own version. I loved the vocal arrangements,
0:38:40 > 0:38:42I loved the technicality of them.
0:38:42 > 0:38:45There's no other Glee Club like you in this competition.
0:38:45 > 0:38:47In every talent competition there are pretenders
0:38:47 > 0:38:51and there are contenders, and you are definitely contenders.
0:38:51 > 0:38:52APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:38:52 > 0:38:55And finally, John, what did you think of that?
0:38:55 > 0:38:59Sometimes abstract art can only be appreciated by, you know,
0:38:59 > 0:39:02niche people, but I think there's nothing abstract about you.
0:39:02 > 0:39:05You're so mainstream, you could really do well.
0:39:05 > 0:39:09Just present that package, that sound, now.
0:39:09 > 0:39:11And I need to tell you, young lady...what's your name?
0:39:11 > 0:39:14- Leanne.- Leanne, your solo voice is stunning.
0:39:14 > 0:39:17I really want you especially to believe in yourself,
0:39:17 > 0:39:19because I don't think you realise how good you actually are.
0:39:19 > 0:39:21Thank you.
0:39:21 > 0:39:24Good comments there, guys. Thank you very much, judges,
0:39:24 > 0:39:27- and give it up for Abstract! - Well done, girls.
0:39:27 > 0:39:29APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:39:33 > 0:39:34Come on over, Abstract.
0:39:34 > 0:39:36Hey, good comments!
0:39:36 > 0:39:37I know!
0:39:37 > 0:39:41They said you're good, they all loved your vocal arrangement,
0:39:41 > 0:39:44they all think you're definite contenders - aaah!
0:39:44 > 0:39:47But Sisqo did say he wants a bit more fried chicken.
0:39:47 > 0:39:50- Yeah!- Fried chicken!
0:39:50 > 0:39:52Bring some brattitude next time.
0:39:52 > 0:39:54And Carrie was saying it's a bit pitchy.
0:39:54 > 0:39:56How would you like to respond to that?
0:39:56 > 0:39:58- I couldn't personally hear that it was pitchy.- No.
0:39:58 > 0:40:01But obviously she's a judge so she knows what she's talking about.
0:40:01 > 0:40:03But it felt good when we were doing it,
0:40:03 > 0:40:06- so...- I think we were just so into it, like, "Oh, yeah."
0:40:06 > 0:40:09My heart just raced and I was so proud.
0:40:09 > 0:40:12- So proud?- Yeah! I just love these girls.
0:40:12 > 0:40:14Especially of Leanne.
0:40:14 > 0:40:16Leanne, they said some lovely things to you.
0:40:16 > 0:40:19John really complimented you. What would you like to say to John?
0:40:19 > 0:40:22Thank you! I don't really know what else to say, honestly.
0:40:22 > 0:40:25I don't know. It's just such a confidence boost, it really is.
0:40:25 > 0:40:27That's lovely to hear.
0:40:27 > 0:40:30We're not going to keep you hangin' on any longer...
0:40:30 > 0:40:32over to you, Sam and Mark!
0:40:32 > 0:40:35Thank you very much, Naomi. OK, so, there you have it.
0:40:35 > 0:40:37All three acts have now performed and can do no more.
0:40:37 > 0:40:40Whilst we check and verify the final scores
0:40:40 > 0:40:42and you wait to find out if your favourite has won,
0:40:42 > 0:40:45here's a quick reminder of those fantastic performances.
0:40:45 > 0:40:49# Oh, baby, give me one more chance
0:40:49 > 0:40:51# Show you that I love you
0:40:51 > 0:40:54# Won't you please let me
0:40:54 > 0:40:55# Back in your heart
0:40:55 > 0:40:58# Oh, darling, I was blind
0:40:58 > 0:41:00# To let you go Let you go, baby
0:41:00 > 0:41:05- # Now since I see you in his arms - I want you back. #
0:41:05 > 0:41:06Let's go!
0:41:06 > 0:41:08# It's my party
0:41:08 > 0:41:10# I do, do what I want
0:41:10 > 0:41:12# Do, do what I want
0:41:12 > 0:41:15# So while you sit and watch me
0:41:15 > 0:41:20# I keep dancing alone Yeah, dancing alone... #
0:41:20 > 0:41:22# You say although we broke up
0:41:22 > 0:41:27# You still wanna be just friends
0:41:27 > 0:41:30- # Oooh- But how can we still be friends
0:41:30 > 0:41:33# When seeing you only breaks my heart again
0:41:33 > 0:41:36And there ain't nothing I can do about it!
0:41:36 > 0:41:39# Oooh. #
0:41:43 > 0:41:46APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:41:48 > 0:41:51- Welcome back our three acts.- MT13!
0:41:51 > 0:41:54APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:42:08 > 0:42:09Carrie, before we reveal the winner,
0:42:09 > 0:42:11how would you sum up today's performances?
0:42:11 > 0:42:15I think the standard on this show has been much higher
0:42:15 > 0:42:18than I would have expected. I'm really surprised.
0:42:18 > 0:42:20It's been very good and very entertaining.
0:42:20 > 0:42:23Thank you very much, Carrie and the rest of the judges.
0:42:23 > 0:42:25The scores have been checked and verified

0:42:32 > 0:42:36I can reveal that the winner of today's heat
0:42:36 > 0:42:38with a total score of 174 is...
