0:01:03 > 0:01:06- It was perfect for Eddie - because he was a bird.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10- He was a handsome crow - with shiny black feathers...

0:01:11 > 0:01:13- ..and beautiful piercing eyes.

0:01:13 > 0:01:17- Eddie's life was almost perfect.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21- His favourite things - were flying, obviously...

0:01:21 > 0:01:23- ..and singing.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27- I know what you're going to say. - Crows can't sing.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31- They sound awful since - their croaking is so dreadful.

0:01:32 > 0:01:36- But that never stopped - Eddie singing heartily.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49- He would stand on his branch, - clear his throat...

0:01:50 > 0:01:55- ..and pretend he was on - the National Eisteddfod stage.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58- In his mind, - Eddie sounded like this.

0:01:59 > 0:02:06- # Vincero #

0:02:06 > 0:02:09- In reality, he sounded like this.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12- # Blargh #

0:02:14 > 0:02:17- As soon as that awful sound - came out of his beak...

0:02:18 > 0:02:21- ..all the animals - and creatures of the forest...

0:02:22 > 0:02:25- ..would run for their lives - and cover their ears.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36- Blargh!

0:02:36 > 0:02:40- Every morning, - the birds would congregate to sing.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42- When they sing, the sun appears.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58- We all know the sun - appears anyway...

0:02:58 > 0:03:01- ..but the birds think - that if they don't sing...

0:03:02 > 0:03:05- ..it would be night for everyone - all the time.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09- And that's why the birds think - that singing every morning...

0:03:09 > 0:03:13- ..is the world's - most important responsibility.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16- They are the dawn choir.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23- But Eddie thought, "Hey, hold on...

0:03:23 > 0:03:28- .."I can sing and I'm a bird.

0:03:28 > 0:03:34- "I can join the dawn choir.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39- "Blargh!"

0:04:06 > 0:04:09- "Today will be a sunnier day - than usual...

0:04:09 > 0:04:15- "..because today is the first day - of the summer holidays.

0:04:15 > 0:04:19- "So sing louder - and more melodic than usual today...

0:04:19 > 0:04:23- "..to make sure the sun - shines brightly and warmly.

0:04:24 > 0:04:25- "Do you all understand?"

0:04:29 > 0:04:34- He lifted his wings - and every bird took a deep breath.

0:04:34 > 0:04:40- Maldwyn counted to four so that - all the birds knew when to start.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43- "One, two, three..."

0:04:43 > 0:04:46- "Blargh!"

0:04:46 > 0:04:48- It was Eddie.

0:04:49 > 0:04:54- "I'll get this, lads, - since I'm your newest member."

0:04:54 > 0:04:58- Eddie stuffed out his breast - and opened his wings.

0:04:58 > 0:05:04- He opened his beak and even though - Eddie heard this in his head...

0:05:04 > 0:05:10- ..# Good morning #...

0:05:10 > 0:05:13- ..what the choir heard was this.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16- # Blargh #

0:05:17 > 0:05:21- "Enough!" - shouted Maldwyn the owl loudly.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26- "Eddie, you're a crow.

0:05:26 > 0:05:30- "Crows can't sing. Away you go."

0:05:30 > 0:05:32- "No, no, you're wrong.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37- "I can sing. I love singing."

0:05:37 > 0:05:39- "You think you can sing, Eddie...

0:05:40 > 0:05:44- "..and I'm sure what you hear - sounds like singing...

0:05:44 > 0:05:49- "..but what comes out of your beak - is an awful croaking.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53- "Now go. - There's no place for you here."

0:05:54 > 0:05:56- The place fell silent.

0:05:56 > 0:05:58- Eddie bowed his head...

0:05:58 > 0:06:01- ..and trudged quietly away.

0:06:01 > 0:06:05- He was heartbroken.

0:06:19 > 0:06:22- Eddie returned to his nest.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25- This was such a beautiful forest.

0:06:25 > 0:06:28- He'd lived here all his life.

0:06:29 > 0:06:34- He remembered coming to live here - when he was just an egg.

0:06:37 > 0:06:42- "There's no place for you here," - he told himself...

0:06:42 > 0:06:46- ..as he remembered Maldwyn's words.

0:06:46 > 0:06:48- "I'll have to leave.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51- "Grab my things - and fly to a place...

0:06:51 > 0:06:56- "..where crows can sing happily - all day, every day.

0:06:57 > 0:07:00- "That's where I will settle."

0:07:03 > 0:07:06- As he packed the contents - of his nest...

0:07:06 > 0:07:08- ..he took one last look - at his branch.

0:07:09 > 0:07:11- It was such a warm and pleasant day.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19- As he looked beyond Sunny Hill...

0:07:19 > 0:07:23- ..instead of seeing beautiful - green trees and clear blue sky...

0:07:24 > 0:07:30- ..all he could see - was red and orange and black!

0:07:30 > 0:07:32- A thick black cloud.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36- Instead of birdsong, - he could hear crackling.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40- He knew precisely what this was.

0:07:40 > 0:07:45- These things happened in the forest - on hot days.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48- The orange and red colours - were flames...

0:07:49 > 0:07:52- ..and the black cloud was smoke.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55- The forest was on fire.

0:08:06 > 0:08:08- Eddie was about to fly away...

0:08:09 > 0:08:13- ..but then he remembered something - that gave him a huge shock.

0:08:13 > 0:08:16- "The dawn choir!"

0:08:26 > 0:08:28- They were still on Sunny Hill.

0:08:28 > 0:08:30- If he didn't do something quickly...

0:08:31 > 0:08:34- ..they would be trapped - and unable to escape.

0:08:34 > 0:08:37- What could he do to warn them?

0:08:40 > 0:08:44- Just then, he remembered something - Maldwyn had told him.

0:08:44 > 0:08:49- "We can hear you every day on the - highest branch of the tallest tree.

0:08:49 > 0:08:53- "Your croaking reaches everywhere."

0:09:00 > 0:09:02- Of course.

0:09:02 > 0:09:05- He sang as loudly as he could, - for as long as he could...

0:09:06 > 0:09:09- ..and even though he sounded - like this in his head...

0:09:09 > 0:09:14- ..# Fire! #...

0:09:15 > 0:09:17- ..what everyone heard was...

0:09:17 > 0:09:20- ..# Fiiiirrrreeee! #

0:09:26 > 0:09:29- All the birds in the dawn choir - looked to the sky...

0:09:29 > 0:09:32- ..and saw Eddie - shaking his wings wildly.

0:09:32 > 0:09:37- All the animals and creatures - came out to see what was going on.

0:09:38 > 0:09:43- "He's shouting fire," said Maldwyn, - "He's shouting fire.

0:10:03 > 0:10:09- As the fire spread, all the birds, - animals and creatures escaped...

0:10:09 > 0:10:11- ..as they followed Eddie's call.
