0:04:22 > 0:04:28- "It's lovely seeing a new face - in the pond," said the toad.

0:04:31 > 0:04:35- "Large fish. Small fish.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38- "Colourful fish. Fat fish.
0:04:38 > 0:04:40- "I come to say hello to them all."

0:04:44 > 0:04:49- "They don't stay very long," - answered Caradog.
0:04:49 > 0:04:52- "They don't learn - to swim at the bottom."
0:04:52 > 0:04:55- "Oh?" answered Taran.
0:04:55 > 0:04:59- "It's crucial, Taran," said Caradog.

0:05:10 > 0:05:16- Taran wasn't sure what Caradog - Hopfawr or Mr Morgan meant...

0:05:25 > 0:05:28- Throughout the summer, - he swam in the pond.
0:05:29 > 0:05:34- Sometimes, - Caradog Hopfawr would appear...
0:05:34 > 0:05:38- ..and they'd play and laugh all day.
0:05:42 > 0:05:46- But whenever a shadow - darkened the pond...
0:05:46 > 0:05:51- ..Taran would swim at the bottom and - wait for the shadow to disappear.
0:05:58 > 0:06:02- Early one morning, - towards the end of the summer...
0:06:02 > 0:06:05- ..Dad visited the pond - at the bottom of the garden.
0:06:06 > 0:06:08- He was carrying a large bowl.
0:06:08 > 0:06:13- "I have a surprise for you, Taran," - said Mr Morgan.
0:06:13 > 0:06:16- "Some company for you."
0:06:16 > 0:06:20- Just then, he poured the contents - of the bowl into the water.
0:06:20 > 0:06:26- After a few seconds, - a fish swam elegantly out of it.
0:06:26 > 0:06:30- Taran couldn't believe his luck.
0:06:30 > 0:06:33- "A new friend," he thought.
0:06:33 > 0:06:38- "How exciting. - We can do so much together.
0:06:38 > 0:06:40- "I can't wait."
0:06:46 > 0:06:49- He swam across the pond - to meet the new fish...
0:06:49 > 0:06:52- ..which swam slowly - through the reeds.
0:06:52 > 0:06:55- "Hello," - said Taran to the colourful fish.
0:06:56 > 0:06:59- "I'm so glad to meet you.
0:06:59 > 0:07:01- "I'm Taran."
0:07:02 > 0:07:04- "Yes, I'm sure."
0:07:04 > 0:07:07- Taran didn't expect - that answer somehow...
0:07:07 > 0:07:10- ..but he followed the fish - and tried again.
0:07:11 > 0:07:15- "Yes, um... well, whatever.
0:07:15 > 0:07:17- "I'm a goldfish."
0:07:18 > 0:07:22- "I know everything - there is to know about you,"...
0:07:22 > 0:07:26- ..said the fish, - cutting across Taran.
0:07:27 > 0:07:31- "Mr Morgan and Rhys - talked about you indoors."
0:07:32 > 0:07:34- He looked down his nose at Taran...
0:07:35 > 0:07:38- ..or whatever fish have - at the end of their bodies...

0:08:40 > 0:08:44- Poor Taran. - He only wanted to be a friend.

0:08:48 > 0:08:53- Mr Look At Me Servants - wasn't a nice fish at all...

0:08:58 > 0:09:02- "I'm sorry if you don't think - I'm good enough for you.
0:09:03 > 0:09:07- "Where the Morgans found me - has nothing to do with anything.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20- To prove his point, - he swam to the top of the pond...
0:10:21 > 0:10:26- ..even though a large shadow - appeared to darken the water.
0:10:29 > 0:10:32- "And another thing," he said...

0:10:41 > 0:10:46- Just then, a heron, - a large bird with a long beak...
0:10:46 > 0:10:51- ..dived down to the pond, - grabbed Goronwy in its beak...
0:10:51 > 0:10:54- ..and flew away into the distance.
0:10:59 > 0:11:02- Taran learnt two things that day.
0:11:02 > 0:11:06- He learnt why he had to swim - at the bottom of the pond.
0:11:06 > 0:11:13- And he learnt that not everything - that shines is pleasant or sensible.
