0:00:51 > 0:00:53No!

0:00:53 > 0:00:54# Let's do it, do it... #

0:00:54 > 0:00:58Now, just 20 dancers remain and today they face

0:00:58 > 0:01:00their biggest challenge yet.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03I'm so nervous for this audition.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06- What are you doing?- I ain't doing it with...it.

0:01:06 > 0:01:07Oh, you're crazy.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11What happened?

0:01:12 > 0:01:16With the pressure on and only 12 places in the next round,

0:01:16 > 0:01:18who will be taking the Next Step?

0:01:18 > 0:01:20We have made a decision.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36Welcome to day two of Nationals.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Dancers, a huge congratulations on making it this far.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46Please welcome our judges, Kimberly, Simeon and John.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48CHEERING

0:01:55 > 0:01:56- Hello, judges.- Hello.- Hello.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59It is day two of Nationals. So, Kimberly,

0:01:59 > 0:02:02what are these guys going to have to do to impress you today?

0:02:02 > 0:02:04Today is a much different day for you guys, because

0:02:04 > 0:02:08we've been watching you dance, but today, we want to see you talk.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10- We want to see you come to life... - Hang on one minute,

0:02:10 > 0:02:12that's not what you said in the dressing room.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14That's what we just talked about.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17I think we need to be clear, because... Can we just stop filming for a moment?

0:02:17 > 0:02:19What's...? Wait, OK. Stop. What happened?

0:02:19 > 0:02:22Well, in the dressing room, you said something completely different.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24Now we're out here, and they're not going to know what...

0:02:24 > 0:02:26Can we not do this in front of the kids?

0:02:26 > 0:02:27Can we, like, send them away, or something?

0:02:27 > 0:02:29I thought we were on the same page.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31You see, now that is acting improvisation.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32LAUGHTER

0:02:32 > 0:02:34We had you fooled for a minute, didn't we?

0:02:34 > 0:02:36And that is your challenge today.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40Now, most of the scenes you see on The Next Step are improvised.

0:02:40 > 0:02:44That means there's no scripts.

0:02:44 > 0:02:49So today, we will be testing your improvisation skills.

0:02:49 > 0:02:53Now, the scene we'd like you to act out today are four dancers at a

0:02:53 > 0:02:58dance competition. Now, maybe you're just arriving at the competition,

0:02:58 > 0:03:01seeing who you're competing against. Maybe you've already danced,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03been placed. Maybe you think the judges

0:03:03 > 0:03:05didn't make the right decision.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08Maybe you're in the wings, watching each other dance.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10The choice is yours.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Let your imaginations run free.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14Good luck. Yeah, come on.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16The improv challenge is on.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20The brief is to come up with a scene for four dancers at a dance

0:03:20 > 0:03:24competition. There are no scripts or prewritten words in this acting

0:03:24 > 0:03:28challenge, so our budding actors will have to decide what to do.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32They'll be judged on how they perform as individuals,

0:03:32 > 0:03:37how they interact with each other, and how they get their ideas across

0:03:37 > 0:03:38to the audience.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40The judges are watching them prepare.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42First on their radar, it's...

0:03:47 > 0:03:49D'yous want us to come over to you?

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Yeah, you could just stand near us, making it look like

0:03:51 > 0:03:54we're going to be jealous and all that of you, and all.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56He's really taking control.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59Kimberly thought Joe stood out at London Regionals.

0:03:59 > 0:04:00You've got serious charisma.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03It's just burning off of you and I really like that.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05Thank you.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07And then, like, stop, and then, like, look at them in disgust.

0:04:07 > 0:04:09Yes.

0:04:09 > 0:04:13Chloe and Imogen certainly impressed at their regional auditions.

0:04:13 > 0:04:14I thought it was brilliant.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17I thought it was really, really beautiful.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Chloe, it was gorgeous.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22- I absolutely loved it. - Thank you.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25So unless we, like, go round the chair, like,

0:04:25 > 0:04:28to insinuate that we've, like, gone into the dance.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30- Yeah.- I think that might make sense. - Yeah.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34Today, Imogen, Chloe and Joe have been teamed up with Khalid, who,

0:04:34 > 0:04:38unlike them had some tough feedback at his regional audition.

0:04:38 > 0:04:42Technically, it's not there but what you do have is something special.

0:04:42 > 0:04:44Is it enough for you to get to The Next Step?

0:04:44 > 0:04:46Not too sure.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50I'll keep pushing until I can prove to you that this is my moment and I

0:04:50 > 0:04:53truly, truly believe this is my moment.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57The 15 minutes of rehearsal time is over.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00The stage is set, and for our first group,

0:05:00 > 0:05:02this could be their biggest challenge yet.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07Now, Joe, Khalid, Chloe and Imogen

0:05:07 > 0:05:12need to perform their scene of four dancers at a dance competition.

0:05:12 > 0:05:15So how did you come up with the idea for your scene?

0:05:15 > 0:05:17We thought, like, a little rivalry, that the girls could be, like,

0:05:17 > 0:05:20mad at the boys and could be, like, all sassy and everything.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22And the boys could be, like, jokers and all that. Yeah.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24- OK. You like to talk a lot, don't you, Joe?- Yeah.

0:05:24 > 0:05:25LAUGHTER

0:05:25 > 0:05:27Well, listen, we're looking forward to it, OK?

0:05:27 > 0:05:29So, in your own time, the floor is yours.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33- Yo, what's up?- Hey, man!

0:05:33 > 0:05:37Do you know what, I've been practising, like, day and night,

0:05:37 > 0:05:38so I think we've got this.

0:05:38 > 0:05:41- Yeah, but you know we're going to kill it.- You know it!

0:05:44 > 0:05:45Do you think they look any good?

0:05:45 > 0:05:46No.

0:05:46 > 0:05:48Not a chance.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51- They're quite mean.- 23.

0:05:51 > 0:05:53- That's us.- That's us. Let's go, let's go.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56- We've got this.- Ready, yeah?- Let's go.

0:05:56 > 0:05:57Oh. They're going in.

0:05:59 > 0:06:00Do you think they'll get it?

0:06:00 > 0:06:03No, I mean, they won't.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05OK.

0:06:05 > 0:06:07- Yes! We got through!- Oh, we got it, man!

0:06:08 > 0:06:09- Yes.- Number one.

0:06:09 > 0:06:10Number one.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12- You know it.- They got it!

0:06:13 > 0:06:1624. It's us.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18Five, six, seven, eight.

0:06:22 > 0:06:23Ow!

0:06:23 > 0:06:25What are you doing?

0:06:25 > 0:06:27Get up!

0:06:27 > 0:06:28I didn't mean to.

0:06:28 > 0:06:29I'm so sorry.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33- It's your fault.- Thank you.

0:06:35 > 0:06:37- They didn't get through? - How's that possible?

0:06:37 > 0:06:39- Right, let's just go and...- Let's go see.- Yeah.

0:06:39 > 0:06:41- Oh, well done, well done.- Well done!

0:06:42 > 0:06:44- OK.- Yeah, well, we won.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46Oh, oh, oh! Sorry.

0:06:50 > 0:06:52I think it was natural and I liked the way that you played on ideas

0:06:52 > 0:06:55that you already know. You already know what it's like to be injured

0:06:55 > 0:06:56or to audition. Well done.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59- Thank you.- Thank you.- I like how you came through the chairs to show you

0:06:59 > 0:07:02were leaving one space and coming into a new space.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04That was good for us, as an audience, to define that.

0:07:04 > 0:07:06Overall, guys, good job.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08ALL: Thank you. Thank you.

0:07:08 > 0:07:09What was it like acting?

0:07:09 > 0:07:11It was a bit different, wasn't it?

0:07:11 > 0:07:13- Yeah, was different. - More nerve racking?

0:07:13 > 0:07:14- Yeah.- Yeah.- Yeah.- Really?

0:07:14 > 0:07:16- Was the heart really pounding? - Yeah.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19For Group One the pressure is off - for now.

0:07:19 > 0:07:21I'm so nervous for this audition.

0:07:21 > 0:07:23It's all right. Just do what you always do.

0:07:23 > 0:07:25Now it's up to Group Two to perform well.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39Earlier today in rehearsal, they seemed to be working together well.

0:07:41 > 0:07:43- I don't need it. - A lot of confidence in this group.

0:07:43 > 0:07:48Macy was determined to impress one judge in particular at Regionals.

0:07:48 > 0:07:49Have you got any favourite dance styles,

0:07:49 > 0:07:51or people that you are inspired...

0:07:51 > 0:07:53- Kimberly.- Oh, I see!

0:07:53 > 0:07:55- Oh!- Oh!

0:07:55 > 0:07:56I just love the way she dances.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58I'm actually getting emotional.

0:07:58 > 0:08:01Oh, honey. I just want to give you a hug!

0:08:01 > 0:08:04It's so nice to meet you.

0:08:04 > 0:08:07- I got through!- I'm so proud of you.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09- Thank you!- Oh, my God, what did they say?

0:08:09 > 0:08:11They were, like, "you're so good."

0:08:11 > 0:08:13Oh, she's a firecracker.

0:08:13 > 0:08:14Wait, who's next here?

0:08:14 > 0:08:15I am.

0:08:15 > 0:08:19Will Isabella take on board John's words of wisdom from her regional

0:08:19 > 0:08:22- audition?- I love the confidence, yeah?

0:08:22 > 0:08:24But if the confidence just steps over a little bit...

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Yeah?

0:08:26 > 0:08:28- That's not good, right?- No.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31I was saying stuff, like, to her, and then she goes in straightaway

0:08:31 > 0:08:33- and then, waiting for her to get back out?- Yeah.- All right.

0:08:33 > 0:08:36While her team-mate Isabella oozes confidence,

0:08:36 > 0:08:40it was a different story for 15-year-old Milan in Cardiff.

0:08:40 > 0:08:42You've really got to sell it to me.

0:08:42 > 0:08:44Make me believe in what you're performing.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47The only boy in this group is Jamie,

0:08:47 > 0:08:50who won over Kimberly at his Cardiff audition.

0:08:50 > 0:08:53You've obviously got some serious talent under your belt.

0:08:53 > 0:08:55I see a lot of potential in you.

0:08:55 > 0:08:57Brr! Brr! Ma!

0:08:57 > 0:09:01So, who will fulfil their potential in this challenge?

0:09:01 > 0:09:04It's time for Group Two to take to the stage.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06Can't wait to see it. Enjoy.

0:09:06 > 0:09:08- Thank you.- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:09:09 > 0:09:11I'm so nervous for this audition.

0:09:11 > 0:09:14It's all right. Just do what you always do, and you'll be fine.

0:09:14 > 0:09:16- I got the part!- Oh, my God!- Oh, my God, that's amazing!

0:09:16 > 0:09:17I'm so proud of you.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20- Thank you.- What did they say?- They were like, "You're really good."

0:09:20 > 0:09:24Oh, my gosh! Wait. So, who's next in?

0:09:24 > 0:09:26Yeah, I am. OK, well, I'm up.

0:09:26 > 0:09:28- Oh, good luck.- Good luck.

0:09:28 > 0:09:30Good luck.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32OK. How can someone be that self-centred?

0:09:32 > 0:09:34She's SO rude.

0:09:34 > 0:09:35She has no respect for anyone.

0:09:36 > 0:09:38- My bag.- Oh, sorry, sorry.

0:09:38 > 0:09:40So, how did you get on?

0:09:40 > 0:09:42Yeah, it was, um, really good.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45Did you get through OK?

0:09:45 > 0:09:47- Let's go through it, guys. - All right.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49- I'm a bit stuck. - Five, six, seven, eight.

0:09:49 > 0:09:52One, two, three and four, five and six and seven.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54- Jamie!- Jamie!- Sorry, guys.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Oh, hold on. Hey, come and join us.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58No, I know it.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01- Of course you do.- OK. - Five, six, seven, eight.

0:10:01 > 0:10:03- One!- Thank you.

0:10:03 > 0:10:05Come together.

0:10:05 > 0:10:09I thought you had well-defined characters.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12I thought, Jamie, you could've come out of yourself a little bit more.

0:10:12 > 0:10:15You're fighting against strong personalities here with the girls,

0:10:15 > 0:10:18but overall, I think it was a good job.

0:10:18 > 0:10:19Jamie, I did like you.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21I liked the fact that you made the group blend,

0:10:21 > 0:10:24because everyone can't be loud at the same time.

0:10:24 > 0:10:26But I thought, like, you guys done really well.

0:10:26 > 0:10:28- Thank you.- It was really fun.

0:10:28 > 0:10:29- I love the team that I was in.- Yeah.

0:10:29 > 0:10:32Awesome friends, here? ALL: Yeah.

0:10:32 > 0:10:33OK.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35This one really surprised me.

0:10:35 > 0:10:36I actually really, really liked it.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40All they can do now is wait.

0:10:40 > 0:10:41# Stand up! #

0:10:41 > 0:10:45This contest isn't just about finding a great dancer.

0:10:46 > 0:10:48We're looking for an actor as well.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50But when there's no script,

0:10:50 > 0:10:53how do the professionals deliver their best performance?

0:10:53 > 0:10:56We have a very rough skeleton in our scenes.

0:10:56 > 0:10:58So, we'll be like, "OK, this is what's going to happen in the scene.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01"You're going to come in, Eldon's going to be doing this,

0:11:01 > 0:11:04"this is what you guys are going to talk about and then it's going to

0:11:04 > 0:11:06"end here. This is your motivation, this is where it goes.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08"The conversation ends around here."

0:11:08 > 0:11:10Next time you do that jump, you might want to just

0:11:10 > 0:11:11engage your core a bit more.

0:11:11 > 0:11:14- Just so you don't fall forward. - OK.- And also that back leg?

0:11:14 > 0:11:16You want to turn it out.

0:11:16 > 0:11:17Especially being West,

0:11:17 > 0:11:20I have a lot of freedom to kind of, say certain things,

0:11:20 > 0:11:24or do certain things, or physicalise certain things. So, you know,

0:11:24 > 0:11:26when... Especially when me and Eldon do a scene,

0:11:26 > 0:11:30it's a lot of fun and, you know, anything can happen, really.

0:11:30 > 0:11:32You want me to audition for a ballet?

0:11:32 > 0:11:34If it's so easy to master ballet,

0:11:34 > 0:11:37then you should have no problem landing a role.

0:11:37 > 0:11:40Just as long as I don't have to be the Nutcracker, cos, you know,

0:11:40 > 0:11:42I'm opposed to violence.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46Back to our auditions, and ready to perform their scene of

0:11:46 > 0:11:48four dancers at a competition, it's...

0:11:56 > 0:11:58Two of this group wowed the judges at Regionals.

0:11:59 > 0:12:0111-year-old Molly in Manchester.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04You're like a little pocket rocket.

0:12:04 > 0:12:06- Thank you.- And Raiaz in Cardiff.

0:12:06 > 0:12:08How willing are you to work really hard?

0:12:08 > 0:12:11Very, very willing.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13- What are you doing? I'm dancing!- Sorry!

0:12:13 > 0:12:14Oh, Jude!

0:12:14 > 0:12:19Erin and Jude only made it to Nationals the judges called them

0:12:19 > 0:12:22back at the end of the day when they both auditioned in London.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24You've got such a great groove about you.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26I'm just not so sure it's enough.

0:12:27 > 0:12:31Erin has to prove she is more than a good dancer.

0:12:31 > 0:12:34Do you really believe you have what it takes to get to The Next Step?

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Yeah, I think I do.

0:12:36 > 0:12:38I don't want you to think you believe it.

0:12:38 > 0:12:40I want you to believe it.

0:12:40 > 0:12:42Can Erin step up to the challenge?

0:12:57 > 0:12:59What are you doing? You can't bump into me like that.

0:12:59 > 0:13:02- Sorry.- Sorry.- That's what I thought.

0:13:03 > 0:13:05Come on. Shall we just go through it a sec?

0:13:05 > 0:13:06- Yeah.- Let's stretch.

0:13:06 > 0:13:07You've got those stretches?

0:13:07 > 0:13:09Look what I can do.

0:13:10 > 0:13:12- Ah!- Oh, my gosh!

0:13:12 > 0:13:15- Someone call an ambulance. - I will! I will!

0:13:15 > 0:13:16Please.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Guess who's going to win now?

0:13:19 > 0:13:20OK. Up on to the chair.

0:13:20 > 0:13:22- Where's your mum?- In the audience.

0:13:22 > 0:13:25Time is ticking. Better hurry up and get on stage.

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Come on, we need to go!

0:13:27 > 0:13:28Number 20.

0:13:28 > 0:13:30Please come to the stage.

0:13:30 > 0:13:33Kimberly, John and Simeon.

0:13:33 > 0:13:34We are number 25.

0:13:34 > 0:13:36Come on.

0:13:36 > 0:13:4025. Erin and Molly, please come to the stage.

0:13:40 > 0:13:41Break a leg!

0:13:46 > 0:13:48Acting is about reacting.

0:13:48 > 0:13:50It's not just about delivering lines.

0:13:50 > 0:13:53It's about listening to what's coming.

0:13:53 > 0:13:56And I thought you all listened to each other really well.

0:13:56 > 0:13:58- Thank you.- Good job.- Thank you.

0:13:58 > 0:14:01Yeah, I definitely think that the nerves got the better of you at the

0:14:01 > 0:14:04- start.- Yeah.- But as you went on, the story started to unfold,

0:14:04 > 0:14:06we could see the characters a bit more, so, well done.

0:14:06 > 0:14:08ALL: Thank you.

0:14:08 > 0:14:10You seem quite happy with how it went. You happy?

0:14:10 > 0:14:12- We done our best.- Yeah. - Bit different.

0:14:16 > 0:14:18Three of our groups have performed for the judges

0:14:18 > 0:14:20and the mood backstage is upbeat.

0:14:20 > 0:14:23John told me that I need to come out of my shell more

0:14:23 > 0:14:24and be more confident as an actor,

0:14:24 > 0:14:27but then Simeon told me that I balanced out well

0:14:27 > 0:14:29and I made the group blend, which was quite good.

0:14:29 > 0:14:31Feeling 99.9...

0:14:31 > 0:14:33No, 99...

0:14:33 > 0:14:36I'm pretty confident that I've got, like, through to the next round,

0:14:36 > 0:14:38because we all did well, so it's just...

0:14:38 > 0:14:39- Hope for the best.- So what is it?

0:14:39 > 0:14:41- 99...- 99.99%.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43Yeah. I'm feeling that.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49It's a different story for those still to face the judges.

0:14:49 > 0:14:51Next up...

0:14:57 > 0:14:58At the Manchester Regionals,

0:14:58 > 0:15:02Julia explained the reason behind her determination to dance.

0:15:02 > 0:15:04I want to, like, get every opportunity I can

0:15:04 > 0:15:06before I have an operation, so...

0:15:06 > 0:15:08What is the operation for?

0:15:08 > 0:15:09- On my back.- OK.

0:15:12 > 0:15:13Sorry.

0:15:13 > 0:15:14It's OK. Take a moment.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17I have to have an operation on my back.

0:15:18 > 0:15:20I might not be able to dance.

0:15:22 > 0:15:24For now, the show must go on.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28You three, you need to come out and get your act together.

0:15:28 > 0:15:31Wow! This is fantastic.

0:15:31 > 0:15:34Ellie also auditioned in Manchester where John spotted

0:15:34 > 0:15:36her performance potential.

0:15:36 > 0:15:39We're looking for somebody that can act and I think

0:15:39 > 0:15:42- that just might be you.- Thank you so much.- I loved it.

0:15:42 > 0:15:46But, in Glasgow, he was looking for more from 12-year-old Jay.

0:15:46 > 0:15:47You've got to act as well, Jay,

0:15:47 > 0:15:50but you got to be that character as soon as you come through the door,

0:15:50 > 0:15:52and not just when the music starts, yeah?

0:15:52 > 0:15:53Yeah.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56In London, Simeon wanted Lance to have

0:15:56 > 0:15:58more confidence in his performance.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00You've done an amazing job. Cool?

0:16:00 > 0:16:03So you need to stand tall and stand proud, yeah?

0:16:05 > 0:16:07It's time for Jay, Julia,

0:16:07 > 0:16:11Ellie and Lance to prove that they can act as well as dance.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14Hey, y'all! Lance in the building.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16What's up? I'm going to smash this!

0:16:16 > 0:16:18Don't you mean, "We're going to smash this?"

0:16:18 > 0:16:20No, I mean, "I'm going to smash this."

0:16:20 > 0:16:23We need to get the routine sorted out, so, from the top?

0:16:23 > 0:16:25Five, six, seven, eight.

0:16:29 > 0:16:31Lance, what are you doing?

0:16:31 > 0:16:32I'm dancing. What are you doing?

0:16:32 > 0:16:35It's a troupe. We're supposed to do the same thing.

0:16:35 > 0:16:36Calm down, calm down.

0:16:36 > 0:16:38Guys, guys, guys.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40Right, from the top. Once more.

0:16:40 > 0:16:41Hey, guys. Wasn't I in the middle?

0:16:41 > 0:16:44Yeah. Five, six, seven, eight.

0:16:48 > 0:16:51- Ow!- Ellie!- Beef, beef, beef, beef.

0:16:51 > 0:16:53- Lance, be quiet.- She was in my spot.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55- I'm centre.- You OK?

0:16:58 > 0:17:00Right. You two, left.

0:17:00 > 0:17:03- What are we going to do?- How about I have a solo, cos, you know.

0:17:03 > 0:17:04Woohoo!

0:17:04 > 0:17:07No. I think I should, cos I'm world champion.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08Woohoo!

0:17:09 > 0:17:12Well, a duet.

0:17:12 > 0:17:13- I ain't doing it with...IT!- Whoa!

0:17:13 > 0:17:15Are you crazy?

0:17:21 > 0:17:25What impressed me about that is that you let everybody get their line out

0:17:25 > 0:17:29and let the audience know what it was that you were thinking.

0:17:29 > 0:17:32There's a lot of confidence in this group and I must say, Lance,

0:17:32 > 0:17:35I thought you were quite a shy kid but it turns out you're not shy

0:17:35 > 0:17:38at all, so a real big surprise for me.

0:17:38 > 0:17:40Really good job, you guys.

0:17:40 > 0:17:42- Thank you.- Thanks.- It was fun? Yes.

0:17:42 > 0:17:44Maybe even more fun than dance.

0:17:44 > 0:17:45- Really?- Yeah.

0:17:45 > 0:17:48So you guys would actually rather go in there and act again than do a

0:17:48 > 0:17:50- dance challenge?- Yeah.

0:17:50 > 0:17:52- Strong group, that.- Yeah.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55I think they've seen a different side to me now,

0:17:55 > 0:17:58cos I'm a bit more, like, confident,

0:17:58 > 0:17:59compared to my first day.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01I'm not that shy any more.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08Two more scenes done.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10As well as their individual performances,

0:18:10 > 0:18:14our budding actors will be judged on how the group interacted and how the

0:18:14 > 0:18:15scene played out as a whole.

0:18:18 > 0:18:2220 dancers are fighting for just 12 places at the next cut.

0:18:24 > 0:18:27And it's been a long, nervous wait for the final four.

0:18:37 > 0:18:40At Regionals, Harriet showed what a perfectionist she is.

0:18:40 > 0:18:43If I have an expectation of what I want to do,

0:18:43 > 0:18:44if I don't do exactly that,

0:18:44 > 0:18:46I will work, so that I will 100% get it,

0:18:46 > 0:18:48cos I will get really annoyed with myself otherwise.

0:18:48 > 0:18:50The attributes of a great ballet dancer.

0:18:50 > 0:18:51HARRIET LAUGHS

0:18:51 > 0:18:55- Basically, yeah.- But can she deliver the perfect acting performance?

0:18:55 > 0:18:57I think I have a better chance at winning, like.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00You do? Cos you don't have the technique, so...

0:19:00 > 0:19:02Whoa. Guys, guys. We've got to sort this out properly.

0:19:02 > 0:19:04Performing alongside Harriet, it's Sophia,

0:19:04 > 0:19:07who should feel right at home with this acting challenge.

0:19:07 > 0:19:08Do you do many shows, or...?

0:19:08 > 0:19:11Yeah, I was in Billy Elliot in the West End when I was ten.

0:19:11 > 0:19:13For a year.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16Oh. You kept that bit quiet, didn't you, Sophia?

0:19:16 > 0:19:21Kimberly thought Eleiyah delivered a dramatic performance at Regionals.

0:19:21 > 0:19:24When I dance, I, like, imagine, a story in me head

0:19:24 > 0:19:25and, like, follow that through.

0:19:25 > 0:19:27She deserves to be in the Nationals.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31Guys, stop. You gotta sort this out properly.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34Do nothing, and let me still steal the show as always.

0:19:34 > 0:19:36Finally, it's 14-year-old Khyreese,

0:19:36 > 0:19:39who had to fight for his place here today.

0:19:39 > 0:19:43When it is real to you, that's when it's yummy.

0:19:43 > 0:19:45But I also need it to be real right here,

0:19:45 > 0:19:48cos this is a TV show and you got to be able to act,

0:19:48 > 0:19:51you got to be able to become a part of that as well.

0:19:52 > 0:19:53I just want this so much.

0:19:53 > 0:19:55It's going to be the fight of your life.

0:19:56 > 0:19:58So, this is it.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01To stay in the contest, Khyreese, Eleiyah,

0:20:01 > 0:20:04Harriet and Sophia need to improv, Next Step style.

0:20:06 > 0:20:09Guys, it's Khyreese.

0:20:09 > 0:20:12- I'm going to go practice.- We'll just watch.- That's fine.

0:20:13 > 0:20:15Sophia again!

0:20:15 > 0:20:19All the time. Oh, Nationals, Internationals...

0:20:19 > 0:20:21No, she won't win this time.

0:20:26 > 0:20:27Ooh, I'm sorry! Are you all right?

0:20:27 > 0:20:29Sophia, you OK?

0:20:29 > 0:20:30- Are you all right?- What was that for?

0:20:30 > 0:20:32Um, I'm just going to go now.

0:20:32 > 0:20:34- Sorry.- Really?

0:20:34 > 0:20:36- You OK?- My ankle.- Can you dance?

0:20:37 > 0:20:39- I don't think so.- OK, it's all right.

0:20:39 > 0:20:40I can do your solo for you.

0:20:40 > 0:20:42I think I should be the one to do the solo,

0:20:42 > 0:20:45cos I came second against Sophia, so...

0:20:45 > 0:20:47Yeah, but my technique score is always higher than yours.

0:20:47 > 0:20:50So, you know, basically, I'm going to win.

0:20:50 > 0:20:51Whoa! Guys.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53Come on, we've got to sort this out properly.

0:20:53 > 0:20:56- Someone's got to do it.- Do you want to win, or...?

0:20:56 > 0:20:58Guys, we need to sort this out properly.

0:20:58 > 0:20:59Wait, I've got an idea.

0:20:59 > 0:21:02How about do nothing, and let me steal the show as always?

0:21:02 > 0:21:05- Not going to let you do that.- You injured me on purpose.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08- It was you!- It was only an accident, Sophia.

0:21:08 > 0:21:10I'm sorry. I'm sure you understand.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12Spatial awareness, though.

0:21:12 > 0:21:13Oh, I'll improve on that next time.

0:21:13 > 0:21:15But anyway, break a leg.

0:21:15 > 0:21:17Oh, yeah - it's already broken!

0:21:17 > 0:21:19- Good luck with that.- Get practising.

0:21:19 > 0:21:20- You're going to need it.- OK.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22- So I'll do the solo.- Wait.

0:21:22 > 0:21:24Why don't we just let Sophia decide?

0:21:24 > 0:21:26It's her solo in the first place.

0:21:26 > 0:21:29Why don't you guys just do a duet?

0:21:29 > 0:21:30Could work.

0:21:30 > 0:21:32- Shall we go and practice?- Yeah.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35You know what? I'm done with this.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38But don't worry. Next competition. They ain't seen the last of me.

0:21:44 > 0:21:46I loved it!

0:21:46 > 0:21:49Seriously well done.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51Really, really impressed with all of you.

0:21:51 > 0:21:55This really looked like a scene from the Next Step.

0:21:55 > 0:21:58The language you used, the way you told the story,

0:21:58 > 0:22:00it seemed very natural.

0:22:00 > 0:22:02On the whole, it was a great, great job.

0:22:02 > 0:22:04Very well done, guys.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06ALL: Thank you.

0:22:06 > 0:22:07The acting challenge is over.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12Now only 12 dancers can survive the cut and keep their

0:22:12 > 0:22:14Next Step dream alive.

0:22:15 > 0:22:19This group, for me, there's two absolute standouts.

0:22:19 > 0:22:20Really proud of them.

0:22:20 > 0:22:22I have to say, I agree.

0:22:22 > 0:22:26- Yay!- I thought they were fantastic and it's a definite yes from me.

0:22:26 > 0:22:28- Yes, pile.- Yes, pile.

0:22:31 > 0:22:33So, our dancers have done all they can do

0:22:33 > 0:22:35and now it's up to the judges to decide

0:22:35 > 0:22:37who makes it through to the next challenge.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42This is going to be so hard.

0:22:42 > 0:22:46Every time we see her, we're never a full "yes."

0:22:46 > 0:22:48It's always a little bit on the fence.

0:22:48 > 0:22:50Yeah.

0:22:50 > 0:22:52I just worry that she's not quite ready.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57I feel that sometimes with this girl, there's not necessarily

0:22:57 > 0:23:01as much obvious individuality about her and I think that's probably...

0:23:01 > 0:23:03See, I disagree, because this one consistently...

0:23:03 > 0:23:05But is she a star?

0:23:05 > 0:23:06Yes, she is.

0:23:08 > 0:23:12I'm talking about the kid who gets up and pushes through,

0:23:12 > 0:23:16and wants it and dreams of it. That's her.

0:23:16 > 0:23:18More than this one?

0:23:19 > 0:23:23Yeah. It's her. She deserves to be on this show.

0:23:23 > 0:23:24It's yes from me.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29That other dancer that you said deserves it,

0:23:29 > 0:23:31that's how I feel about this one.

0:23:31 > 0:23:34I feel like, if there was a person I feel like deserves it,

0:23:34 > 0:23:38based on their ability and them as a character, and them as a person,

0:23:38 > 0:23:40I'd go with this dancer, but...

0:23:40 > 0:23:42I couldn't agree more with that.

0:23:44 > 0:23:47I really believe in this girl. And there have been so many times

0:23:47 > 0:23:49where we've been at the wire, and I'm like,

0:23:49 > 0:23:51you know what? I understand where you're coming from,

0:23:51 > 0:23:53I understand where you're coming from.

0:23:53 > 0:23:56Let me put somebody through, I put my neck on the line for that one.

0:23:56 > 0:23:57I really do.

0:23:59 > 0:24:02From 20, the judges have chosen their 12.

0:24:04 > 0:24:05Look at them!

0:24:08 > 0:24:09There you go.

0:24:11 > 0:24:14The anxious wait backstage is almost over.

0:24:14 > 0:24:18Moments from now, these dancers are going to face the judges and

0:24:18 > 0:24:21find out whether they've done enough to make it through.

0:24:21 > 0:24:25Dancers have been called in different groups, and now the judges

0:24:25 > 0:24:29will let them know if it's good news or bad news for the entire group.

0:24:29 > 0:24:33First of all, I just want to say it's been a real privilege to watch

0:24:33 > 0:24:36all of you dance, to see you take on the challenges,

0:24:36 > 0:24:38to work together as teams,

0:24:38 > 0:24:41and to really come to life as little actors and actresses.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43You've done so well.

0:24:44 > 0:24:48You've done everything we've asked of you.

0:24:48 > 0:24:52It's been hard for us, going from 20 to 12.

0:24:53 > 0:24:56So it's not a conversation that we took lightly.

0:24:56 > 0:24:58We have deliberated thoroughly.

0:24:59 > 0:25:00We have made a decision.

0:25:04 > 0:25:05And that decision is...

0:25:15 > 0:25:18that you won't be going through to the next round.

0:25:18 > 0:25:22It's the end of the road for Raiaz, Chloe, Jay and Isabella.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25I love that you're still smiling, all of you.

0:25:25 > 0:25:27Have you actually had a good experience?

0:25:27 > 0:25:30- Yeah.- Yes.- Yeah? Well, I think you've been awesome.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32I love you guys. You've done really, really well.
