0:01:05 > 0:01:09- We are so excited because...- Shh!

0:01:09 > 0:01:11In case you haven't noticed, we're in a library.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14Do you want to keep it down? We have to be quiet on this one.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16Yeah, sorry. So, what I was saying is,

0:01:16 > 0:01:18we're so excited because we're going to be building a den,

0:01:18 > 0:01:20here in Penarth, South Wales,

0:01:20 > 0:01:22for a ten-year-old girl called Eleanor.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25Now, Eleanor loves reading and writing,

0:01:25 > 0:01:28so we're going to be building her a magical library den.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31- This is going to be unbelievable! - Shh!

0:01:31 > 0:01:35Now, Eleanor loves this library and she's coming back any minute now

0:01:35 > 0:01:37to return some books.

0:01:37 > 0:01:38So, we'd better get hidden.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45The Dengineer we're surprising today

0:01:45 > 0:01:48is ten-year-old Eleanor from Penarth, South Wales.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51I need a den because I love reading and writing

0:01:51 > 0:01:53and I have nowhere to go to do it.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56Eleanor loves to read and write.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59She reads every day and she's regularly got a pen and paper out

0:01:59 > 0:02:01and she's writing a book.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Eleanor has a younger brother and sister who are very energetic...

0:02:07 > 0:02:09..and always want to know what's going on,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12so, sometimes, when Eleanor wants some peace to herself,

0:02:12 > 0:02:15either to read or to be able to put down one of her stories,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17it's very difficult for her to do that.

0:02:19 > 0:02:20Life isn't easy for Eleanor

0:02:20 > 0:02:23as she has a condition called cerebral palsy,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26which affects her movement and means she has to use a wheelchair.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Having Eleanor's dream den built

0:02:28 > 0:02:30would be the most fantastic opportunity for her.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33She doesn't have the independence that other girls her age have

0:02:33 > 0:02:36and having the den would give her somewhere special to go.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39I would love a magical library den

0:02:39 > 0:02:41where I could do all my reading and writing.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44Please come, Dengineers, because I really need your help.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54Eleanor and her mum are on their way to the local library

0:02:54 > 0:02:55to return some books.

0:02:57 > 0:03:01The Dengineers spring into action to rig our secret cameras.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05And they've even dressed up as librarians.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08She must be coming any minute now.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15(She's there.)

0:03:16 > 0:03:20She has no idea that we're hiding out waiting to surprise her.

0:03:21 > 0:03:26(Fingers crossed. This bit always scares me.)

0:03:26 > 0:03:29We've left Eleanor a very special message on a scroll.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32"Who knows what magic could be found

0:03:32 > 0:03:37"if you turn your head and look behind?"

0:03:37 > 0:03:38Surprise!

0:03:38 > 0:03:40Eleanor, how are you?

0:03:40 > 0:03:42- Really good. - I'm Mark and this is Lauren

0:03:44 > 0:03:47and we're here to tell you that you're going to be building

0:03:47 > 0:03:50your very own dream den.

0:03:50 > 0:03:51- Yes!- Yay!

0:03:51 > 0:03:54How does that sound?

0:03:54 > 0:03:56- Amazing!- Ah, good!

0:03:56 > 0:03:59Did you ever think this was going to happen to you when you applied?

0:03:59 > 0:04:01- No!- Well, guess what, you're not dreaming.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04- Look! You're here, it's happening. - It's for real!

0:04:04 > 0:04:05Shall we get this show on the road?

0:04:05 > 0:04:08- OK.- Yes!

0:04:08 > 0:04:12When I saw Mark and Lauren I just felt, like, over the moon.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Surprise!

0:04:14 > 0:04:17When Eleanor turned round I nearly cried.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Watching her face, she was so happy.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22You're going to be building your very own dream den.

0:04:22 > 0:04:24- Yes!- Yay!

0:04:24 > 0:04:28It's just the most best thing that could ever happen to me.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31Our first port of call is the Dengineers mobile HQ,

0:04:31 > 0:04:33which has some mega-cool technology

0:04:33 > 0:04:35that can bring Eleanor's den to life.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40Eleanor, welcome to the Dengineers mobile HQ.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43This allows you to get all the ideas that are in your head and put them

0:04:43 > 0:04:46onto the screen to show us how you want your den to be.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49I want a place for me to write and read in peace

0:04:49 > 0:04:52where I can't get distracted by anyone.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55We don't want it to be just like a bog-standard library, do we?

0:04:55 > 0:04:58- No.- We want it to be a magical kind of feel, is that right?

0:04:58 > 0:05:00- Yes.- Anything you see,

0:05:00 > 0:05:03you grab it, swing it up there, we'll have a look, shall we?

0:05:03 > 0:05:04That one looks nice.

0:05:04 > 0:05:07- Wow!- Looks magical as well, doesn't it?

0:05:07 > 0:05:08- Yeah.- Ooh.

0:05:09 > 0:05:13That's symbolling magic wand and mystery.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15So is that the kind of books that you're into?

0:05:15 > 0:05:17What do you like reading?

0:05:17 > 0:05:20Well, I like reading fantasy books,

0:05:20 > 0:05:24like witches and wizards and werewolves, and vampires.

0:05:24 > 0:05:25Oh, OK!

0:05:25 > 0:05:28I like typewriting as well.

0:05:28 > 0:05:29It's like olde worlde, isn't it?

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Like they probably did in the old days.

0:05:31 > 0:05:36- Like I've used magic to go back in time.- Amazing! That's awesome.

0:05:36 > 0:05:40This den isn't just for writing but it's also for reading.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42Perfect.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45I also want to include a tiny bit of magical nature.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47Oh, OK.

0:05:47 > 0:05:49So, perhaps, that could be something

0:05:49 > 0:05:52that's on the outside of the den before you go in?

0:05:52 > 0:05:54- Yeah.- So, tell us about fairies.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58I like how they perform good deeds and how they're so mystical.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01- Amazing.- I would like lots of books

0:06:01 > 0:06:04in my den so that it would be, like, an endless supply.

0:06:04 > 0:06:07I can imagine just chilling out, reading a book, feeling magical.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09- Is that how this is going to be? - Yeah.

0:06:09 > 0:06:13- I think we're just about done. Do you?- Yes.- Are you excited?- Yes!

0:06:13 > 0:06:16Eleanor's mood board is full of ideas for her den.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18She wants the den to feel magical and fairylike

0:06:18 > 0:06:20and inside she wants a space

0:06:20 > 0:06:22where she can read as many books as she wants

0:06:22 > 0:06:25and a typewriter so she can pen her first bestseller.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29But which of the Dengineers' designers

0:06:29 > 0:06:32will be building Eleanor's magical library den?

0:06:32 > 0:06:33It's Maral.

0:06:33 > 0:06:37Maral is one seriously cool architect whose job it is to design

0:06:37 > 0:06:40multimillion-pound buildings for a huge range of clients.

0:06:40 > 0:06:45She's got the magic touch that will bring Eleanor's dream den to life.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47Now, Maral, you've seen the designs.

0:06:47 > 0:06:50You've seen everything on the mood board that we want.

0:06:50 > 0:06:51What have you got planned?

0:06:51 > 0:06:54So, Eleanor, I've started looking at your ideas

0:06:54 > 0:06:57and I've come up with a woodland theme den.

0:06:57 > 0:06:59So, part of this woodland theme

0:06:59 > 0:07:02is going to go onto your den from the outside,

0:07:02 > 0:07:06so, maybe, some trees and tree bark, something like this.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08I also understand that you need

0:07:08 > 0:07:11to access your den using your wheelchair.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15So, I've been conscious about getting you a level access

0:07:15 > 0:07:17so you can easily go into your den

0:07:17 > 0:07:20and you're going to come from the right-hand side

0:07:20 > 0:07:22to the den and, whilst you're inside,

0:07:22 > 0:07:25you can look through the windows and through these trees.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29- How does that sound?- That looks absolutely awesome.- Yeah? Great.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31And inside, we've got some bookshelves

0:07:31 > 0:07:33and we've got some magical elements

0:07:33 > 0:07:34that I'm not going to tell you about

0:07:34 > 0:07:37and so there's going to be an element of surprise there for you,

0:07:37 > 0:07:40but I heard, you know, you like to sit on beanbags

0:07:40 > 0:07:41whilst you're reading.

0:07:41 > 0:07:44- Yes.- Possibly we're going to put it close to the window so when you sit

0:07:44 > 0:07:47you can look into the garden and get inspired by...

0:07:47 > 0:07:49- That'd be awesome. - ..your lovely garden.

0:07:49 > 0:07:51- Yeah?- Yeah.- Do you give a thumbs up to my design?

0:07:51 > 0:07:54- I give you triple thumbs up. - Oh, brilliant!

0:07:54 > 0:07:57I don't think I've ever had a triple thumbs up!

0:07:57 > 0:07:59Inspired by Eleanor's mood board,

0:07:59 > 0:08:03Maral has created a magical woodland theme for her library den.

0:08:03 > 0:08:04The outside of the den

0:08:04 > 0:08:06will be covered with an overlapping tree design and

0:08:06 > 0:08:10Eleanor will be able to get in and out easily using a wheelchair ramp.

0:08:10 > 0:08:14Inside, she'll have bookcases galore to store her favourite stories

0:08:14 > 0:08:17and a window, so she can be inspired by looking at her garden.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22Before the main build can get started,

0:08:22 > 0:08:25the Dengineers must prepare the area where the den will go.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31If they can get in the garden, that is.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38Access to the den is really important for Eleanor,

0:08:38 > 0:08:40so the team are going to widen the path.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43They're also creating a solid level base to build her den on

0:08:43 > 0:08:45and a ramp for her wheelchair.

0:08:51 > 0:08:53It's kind of weird how it's all lumpy

0:08:53 > 0:08:57and then it just smooths out like magic.

0:08:57 > 0:08:59Of course we'd use magical concrete.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02This is a magical library den, after all.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04I'm very happy that my den will be a big den.

0:09:04 > 0:09:07I thought my den might be a bit small, I was a bit worried,

0:09:07 > 0:09:10but now I've seen the size, all my fears have been dealt with.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15It's been a productive day as the Dengineers have completed

0:09:15 > 0:09:17the foundations of Eleanor's den.

0:09:17 > 0:09:19All they need now is for the concrete to set.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21Fingers crossed!

0:09:25 > 0:09:26It's day one of the build

0:09:26 > 0:09:29and the Dengineers descend on Eleanor's house

0:09:29 > 0:09:31to start on the main structure of the den.

0:09:31 > 0:09:34And, when we rock up, we never travel light.

0:09:35 > 0:09:39As the team finish unloading the van, the heavens open up.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44It's raining really bad.

0:09:44 > 0:09:46It's like cats and dogs.

0:09:48 > 0:09:51But a bit of water never stopped anyone.

0:09:51 > 0:09:55# Turn, please go And turn, I'll pour you down

0:09:55 > 0:09:59# Rain, please come And turn, I'll pour you down

0:09:59 > 0:10:03# Because, if you want to have fun Yes, we need the sun

0:10:03 > 0:10:08# So, rain, please come And turn, I'll pour you down! #

0:10:08 > 0:10:10- Ow!- Yes! That was good!

0:10:14 > 0:10:17The main structure of Eleanor's den has arrived.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21So the garden is now officially Dengineers only

0:10:21 > 0:10:23and Eleanor is in charge.

0:10:25 > 0:10:28It feels quite cool that no-one in my family

0:10:28 > 0:10:31can know what's going on except me.

0:10:31 > 0:10:35Her family won't be able to see the den until it's complete

0:10:35 > 0:10:36in a few days' time.

0:10:36 > 0:10:39Now it's a Dengineers-only zone, that means I'm in the dark.

0:10:39 > 0:10:40Not at all nervous.

0:10:40 > 0:10:43I completely trust the Dengineers to be fantastic

0:10:43 > 0:10:46and build something wonderful for Eleanor.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50Now that it's stopped raining,

0:10:50 > 0:10:53the Dengineers are making the most of the dry weather.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56The den is flying up, with the floor and the walls in place.

0:10:56 > 0:10:58Wow!

0:10:58 > 0:10:59That is awesome!

0:11:02 > 0:11:05Inside the house, a special delivery has arrived for Eleanor.

0:11:06 > 0:11:10What would you say is the one important, most important thing,

0:11:10 > 0:11:11that you need in your library?

0:11:11 > 0:11:14- Books!- Well, I've got something to show you, then.

0:11:20 > 0:11:22Now what do you think about that?

0:11:22 > 0:11:24That is phenomenal.

0:11:24 > 0:11:28A lot of publishers have given all these books to you.

0:11:28 > 0:11:30- Really?- For your magical library, yes.

0:11:30 > 0:11:32Would you like to take a look at some of them?

0:11:32 > 0:11:34Yeah. This is so amazing!

0:11:38 > 0:11:40Wolf Princess!

0:11:40 > 0:11:43I feel really lucky to have all these books.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46Books are basically my life and I'm just like...

0:11:46 > 0:11:48I'm going to be going forever.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51Look at those books!

0:11:51 > 0:11:52Wow!

0:11:52 > 0:11:54While Eleanor gets stuck into a story...

0:11:56 > 0:12:00..outside the team are racing to get the roof on in the dry.

0:12:04 > 0:12:07End of day one has gone very well.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09The roof was one of the challenging bits

0:12:09 > 0:12:12but, with the help of everybody, we even managed to get it on.

0:12:12 > 0:12:16Just in time, as the rain's just about to start.

0:12:16 > 0:12:18I've had an exciting day today

0:12:18 > 0:12:21and I've got another exciting day tomorrow.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30Day two of the build.

0:12:30 > 0:12:32The team have finally got some good weather

0:12:32 > 0:12:34and everyone is getting stuck in

0:12:34 > 0:12:37to keep the build on track, including Eleanor.

0:12:37 > 0:12:39- Is it fun?- Definitely.- Yeah?

0:12:41 > 0:12:44Even Mark's rolled up his sleeves to create some magical bookshelves

0:12:44 > 0:12:45for the den.

0:12:45 > 0:12:47Maral and the team need to ensure

0:12:47 > 0:12:50that Eleanor can access her den easily.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52To overcome the difference in height

0:12:52 > 0:12:54between the concrete path and the den,

0:12:54 > 0:12:57a ramp is being built for Eleanor's wheelchair.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59It has to be specifically designed

0:12:59 > 0:13:01so that Eleanor doesn't roll back down the ramp

0:13:01 > 0:13:03when she opens the doors of her den.

0:13:05 > 0:13:06To solve this problem,

0:13:06 > 0:13:08the team have created a landing section at the top of the ramp.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10This means Eleanor has a flat surface

0:13:10 > 0:13:14to move her wheelchair backwards on when she opens the doors.

0:13:14 > 0:13:15The landing has been built

0:13:15 > 0:13:17to the same level as the bottom of the door,

0:13:17 > 0:13:21so Eleanor can easily manoeuvre across the threshold into the den.

0:13:24 > 0:13:28This magical library den is going to have something that no other library

0:13:28 > 0:13:31has ever had - its very own fairy garden.

0:13:31 > 0:13:34And you can't have a fairy garden without fairies.

0:13:34 > 0:13:35So we're going to make something

0:13:35 > 0:13:38- that looks a little bit like this. - Wow. Did you make that?

0:13:38 > 0:13:41- I did.- They're quite cool!

0:13:41 > 0:13:44Dengineer Ashley shows us how to create fairy hair

0:13:44 > 0:13:47using loops of wool and how to thread a wooden bead

0:13:47 > 0:13:49onto the wire to make the head.

0:13:49 > 0:13:51Have you run it all the way to the top?

0:13:51 > 0:13:54- Wow!- Brilliant. And then if you drop her hair.

0:13:54 > 0:13:55- Oh-ho!- How cool's that?

0:13:55 > 0:13:58We twist the wire round to make the arms and the body

0:13:58 > 0:14:00and then wrap them in wool.

0:14:00 > 0:14:02Do you like doing things like this, Eleanor?

0:14:02 > 0:14:04- Definitely. - Just because it's a fairy,

0:14:04 > 0:14:06or because you like arts and crafts?

0:14:06 > 0:14:07I like arts and crafts.

0:14:07 > 0:14:10She's got the technique going now, hasn't she?

0:14:10 > 0:14:12Look how quick she is.

0:14:12 > 0:14:14Once Eleanor has created the fairy's body,

0:14:14 > 0:14:17all that's left to do is get her dressed.

0:14:17 > 0:14:19How cool is that?

0:14:20 > 0:14:23While Eleanor puts the finishing touches to our fairy,

0:14:23 > 0:14:27I want to find out more about her passion for books from her mum.

0:14:28 > 0:14:31Where does the love of reading and writing come from with Eleanor?

0:14:31 > 0:14:34From a young age Eleanor's had a lot of hospital appointments.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37So, in the waiting rooms I'd always take books, we'd read books,

0:14:37 > 0:14:39I'd make stories up, and she loved that.

0:14:39 > 0:14:42Eleanor's got a condition that's not been easy for her.

0:14:42 > 0:14:44Eleanor has cerebral palsy.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46It only affects her mobility,

0:14:46 > 0:14:50but it just means that walking is difficult for her.

0:14:50 > 0:14:51Her condition won't deteriorate.

0:14:52 > 0:14:57But it's been more evident as she's aged that she needs more support.

0:14:57 > 0:15:00Why do you think this den is going to be so important for Eleanor?

0:15:00 > 0:15:01Why is it going to be so special?

0:15:01 > 0:15:04I think this den is going to be incredibly important for Eleanor

0:15:04 > 0:15:05because a lot of girls her age

0:15:05 > 0:15:08have far more independence than she's able to have.

0:15:08 > 0:15:10So she's going to be able to go there,

0:15:10 > 0:15:13create her own world and her imagination can blossom.

0:15:13 > 0:15:15So to have a place specifically for that

0:15:15 > 0:15:17is just going to be outstanding.

0:15:19 > 0:15:23Outside, it's all starting to go wrong for the Dengineers.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28It's raining, yet again bringing the build to a standstill.

0:15:29 > 0:15:32The rain is really, really coming down.

0:15:32 > 0:15:35With only a couple of days to go and so much to do...

0:15:37 > 0:15:38..it's a little bit worrying,

0:15:38 > 0:15:40because we need to get this den completed for Eleanor.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42Fingers crossed it brightens up tomorrow.

0:15:42 > 0:15:45And inside it's going from bad to worse,

0:15:45 > 0:15:49as Dengineer Clare gets a phone call she does not want to receive.

0:15:49 > 0:15:52- We don't have a floor!- Agh!

0:15:52 > 0:15:53The vinyl flooring hasn't left

0:15:53 > 0:15:56the supplier and won't be delivered today.

0:15:59 > 0:16:03Finally, there's one ray of sunshine as the tree cladding for the outside

0:16:03 > 0:16:05of Eleanor's den arrives.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09When it rained today, it started to slow the Dengineers down

0:16:09 > 0:16:11and I got really worried,

0:16:11 > 0:16:14but then it's got really sunny and now everything's back

0:16:14 > 0:16:15into full swing.

0:16:19 > 0:16:22The bad weather has really held up progress for the Dengineers

0:16:22 > 0:16:24and now the pressure is on

0:16:24 > 0:16:26to get everything finished in just two days.

0:16:27 > 0:16:30Fingers crossed for no more rain.

0:16:33 > 0:16:36It's day three of the build and guess what?

0:16:36 > 0:16:37It's raining again.

0:16:39 > 0:16:43Hopefully, we get half an hour to an hour of dry conditions

0:16:43 > 0:16:45so we can finish the ramp and landing,

0:16:45 > 0:16:48which needs to be done before tomorrow.

0:16:51 > 0:16:52It's full steam ahead for the Dengineers,

0:16:52 > 0:16:55who have got to get the build back on track.

0:16:55 > 0:16:56While the team get their heads down,

0:16:56 > 0:17:00Maral's come up with a great idea for secret storage.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08For the upcycle,

0:17:08 > 0:17:13we are going to make a secret storage with an old book.

0:17:13 > 0:17:15I am using an old book,

0:17:15 > 0:17:19but it has been well used and now we're going to give it a new life

0:17:19 > 0:17:22by creating this secret storage within it.

0:17:23 > 0:17:24And if you want to have a go,

0:17:24 > 0:17:28make sure you check with an adult first to find an appropriate book.

0:17:28 > 0:17:32Maral glues the sides of the book to stick the pages together,

0:17:32 > 0:17:36keeping a few free for effect, and then leaves it to dry.

0:17:36 > 0:17:40It doesn't have to be very neat, because this glue dries clear.

0:17:42 > 0:17:44Once the glue is dry...

0:17:44 > 0:17:47It's completely dry. I can't even flick through the pages.

0:17:47 > 0:17:51Maral measures the book, where the secret compartment will go.

0:17:52 > 0:17:55Now that I have my rectangle here I'm going to use the knife

0:17:55 > 0:17:57and start cutting the pages.

0:17:57 > 0:18:00It's important to do this very slowly and gently.

0:18:01 > 0:18:03It's painstaking work,

0:18:03 > 0:18:06make sure you get a grown-up to help you if you want to try this at home.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10Once the compartment is cut out,

0:18:10 > 0:18:13Maral secures the sides and any loose pages with glue.

0:18:14 > 0:18:18Maral puts down one last page to soak up any extra glue,

0:18:18 > 0:18:21and then cut it out to complete the secret compartment.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25Here we have our finished upcycle,

0:18:25 > 0:18:27where Eleanor can keep all of her treasures.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34The Dengineers have still got a long way to go

0:18:34 > 0:18:37to get Eleanor's den done in time.

0:18:39 > 0:18:42From now on she won't be able to see her den

0:18:42 > 0:18:43until the big reveal tomorrow.

0:18:43 > 0:18:47So I've got a surprise in store that she's going to absolutely love.

0:18:49 > 0:18:51Hi, Eleanor. Hi, Hannah.

0:18:51 > 0:18:54- Hello.- How are you guys feeling today?

0:18:54 > 0:18:56- Really good.- Really excited?

0:18:56 > 0:18:57- Yes.- Excellent stuff.

0:18:57 > 0:19:01Are you ready to see the place where books are brought to life?

0:19:01 > 0:19:03- Definitely.- Definitely ready for it?

0:19:03 > 0:19:05- Yes.- Let's go, shall we? Come on.

0:19:07 > 0:19:11Have you ever seen so many books?

0:19:11 > 0:19:15Eleanor thinks she's having a tour of a top publishing house,

0:19:15 > 0:19:18but what she doesn't know is that one of her favourite authors is here

0:19:18 > 0:19:19waiting to meet her.

0:19:20 > 0:19:23Dame Jacqueline Wilson has created much-loved characters,

0:19:23 > 0:19:26like Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather,

0:19:26 > 0:19:29and has sold over 35 million books.

0:19:30 > 0:19:32OK, you can come in now.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35Hello, Eleanor.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37- Hello.- Do you know who I am?

0:19:37 > 0:19:39- Jacqueline Wilson.- That's right.

0:19:39 > 0:19:40Did you know I was coming?

0:19:40 > 0:19:42- No.- So, Jacqueline,

0:19:42 > 0:19:46Eleanor is an aspiring author. Have you got any tips and tricks for her?

0:19:46 > 0:19:48Number one, read lots and lots,

0:19:48 > 0:19:52because it helps you see how other people write their stories.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55It makes your imagination blossom.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58And it's good fun. Do you keep a diary at all?

0:19:58 > 0:20:01- Not really. - If you try keeping a diary,

0:20:01 > 0:20:04it gets you into a writing habit,

0:20:04 > 0:20:08even when you'd much, much sooner be doing something else.

0:20:08 > 0:20:11So many people think you just get this wonderful flash of inspiration.

0:20:11 > 0:20:13That happens to me about once a year.

0:20:13 > 0:20:16Mostly it's just hard slog, get writing.

0:20:16 > 0:20:20And if you suddenly decide, "No, this is rubbish," don't worry.

0:20:20 > 0:20:23Stop doing it, write another story instead.

0:20:23 > 0:20:29When I'm writing my books, I usually do, like, three paragraphs a day.

0:20:29 > 0:20:33I happen to have read one of your stories.

0:20:33 > 0:20:36I have read The Button-Eyed Dragon.

0:20:36 > 0:20:39I thought it was really, really good.

0:20:39 > 0:20:40Eleanor, how do you feel

0:20:40 > 0:20:43that Jacqueline has read one of your stories?

0:20:43 > 0:20:45I feel really proud.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47Yeah? This is a bit of a dream come true, really, isn't it?

0:20:47 > 0:20:50- Very.- And you've had some tips and tricks as well.

0:20:50 > 0:20:54And, Jacqueline, what do you think of the idea for Eleanor's den?

0:20:54 > 0:20:57I think it's a brilliant, brilliant idea.

0:20:57 > 0:20:58I'd have given anything to have

0:20:58 > 0:21:00a special den like that when I was your age.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02Thank you so much, Jacqueline.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04It's been an absolute pleasure meeting you.

0:21:04 > 0:21:06You're welcome. It's been lovely to meet you too, Eleanor.

0:21:06 > 0:21:08I think you're very lucky.

0:21:08 > 0:21:10- I'd like a writing den, too! - Thank you.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12When I arrived here this morning,

0:21:12 > 0:21:15I thought I was just going to see how they make the books.

0:21:15 > 0:21:17Not actually meet an author.

0:21:17 > 0:21:19OK, you can come in now.

0:21:19 > 0:21:21Hello, Eleanor.

0:21:21 > 0:21:25When Lauren called Jacqueline Wilson in I just saw her, I was like,

0:21:25 > 0:21:29"Oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh! It's Jacqueline Wilson."

0:21:29 > 0:21:31I was just so, like, excited

0:21:31 > 0:21:34and hyper and I was like, "I never thought my day would be this good."

0:21:35 > 0:21:37And there's one last surprise,

0:21:37 > 0:21:39a signed copy of Jacqueline's latest book.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42- There we go.- Thank you.

0:21:42 > 0:21:43Awesome.

0:21:44 > 0:21:48Back at the den the team are way behind schedule due to the rain.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51They need to get Eleanor's bespoke magical floor down

0:21:51 > 0:21:54before the big reveal tomorrow.

0:21:54 > 0:21:55It's going to be good.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57And it's proving a bigger job than they thought.

0:22:02 > 0:22:04The team are having to work into the night,

0:22:04 > 0:22:06and there's only one thing that will keep them going -

0:22:08 > 0:22:09..pizza!

0:22:19 > 0:22:22In just a few hours Eleanor will get to see her den

0:22:22 > 0:22:24for the very first time.

0:22:24 > 0:22:26And despite being up late last night,

0:22:26 > 0:22:28it's an early start for everybody.

0:22:28 > 0:22:31This looks amazing!

0:22:31 > 0:22:33She is going to love this.

0:22:33 > 0:22:36- What do you want me to do? - If you get a cloth,

0:22:36 > 0:22:38we need all the windows wiped clean, please.

0:22:38 > 0:22:39Uh-huh.

0:22:41 > 0:22:43Come on, Mark, it's a team effort.

0:22:46 > 0:22:47Oi!

0:22:48 > 0:22:50Stop it! What are you doing?

0:22:50 > 0:22:53- I'm dusting the ceiling. - What do you think this is for?

0:22:57 > 0:23:00As the Dengineers put the finishing touches in place,

0:23:00 > 0:23:01Eleanor's family are arriving,

0:23:01 > 0:23:04and they're all looking forward to seeing her den for the first time.

0:23:19 > 0:23:20Eleanor wanted a den

0:23:20 > 0:23:24to indulge her passion for reading and writing.

0:23:24 > 0:23:26So Maral and the Dengineers have created a magical library

0:23:26 > 0:23:31where Eleanor can read and write in peace.

0:23:31 > 0:23:33Outside there is a woodland theme

0:23:33 > 0:23:37and a specially created fairy garden for inspiration.

0:23:37 > 0:23:41But will Eleanor be enchanted by her magical library den?

0:23:41 > 0:23:45Guys, are you ready to see Eleanor's den?

0:23:45 > 0:23:47Yes!

0:23:47 > 0:23:51Five, four, three, two,

0:23:51 > 0:23:52one!

0:23:55 > 0:23:57Oh, my gosh!

0:23:57 > 0:23:59Look at the little fairy doors.

0:23:59 > 0:24:03That is so cute!

0:24:03 > 0:24:05- There's a ramp.- I know!

0:24:05 > 0:24:08I'm impressed with the ramp as well.

0:24:08 > 0:24:09How are you feeling, Eleanor?

0:24:09 > 0:24:11Really happy.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13What's your favourite thing right now, that you can see?

0:24:13 > 0:24:15- The garden.- The fairy garden?

0:24:15 > 0:24:18Have you seen the fairy that you made? Sitting on top of the sign.

0:24:18 > 0:24:21- I can see her, yeah. - Everyone else, what do you think?

0:24:21 > 0:24:22I can't wait to see inside.

0:24:22 > 0:24:24This is just fantastic.

0:24:24 > 0:24:26And it looks lovely in my garden.

0:24:26 > 0:24:29Right, Eleanor, shall we go in and have a closer look?

0:24:29 > 0:24:30- Yes.- Come on, let's go for it.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33- Mum, we'll see you in a bit. - We'll see you in a bit. Let's go.

0:24:33 > 0:24:34- You grab the doors.- I will do.

0:24:36 > 0:24:37In you go.

0:24:38 > 0:24:41Whoa! That is amazing.

0:24:42 > 0:24:45How cool is that?

0:24:47 > 0:24:50Eleanor's magical library is packed with everything she needs.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54There's bookcases to store her new collection...

0:24:55 > 0:24:56..floating shelves.

0:24:57 > 0:24:59Check this out.

0:24:59 > 0:25:02Even a secret fold-down writing desk with a hi-tech typewriter!

0:25:02 > 0:25:05- Ta-dah!- Whoa!

0:25:05 > 0:25:06It's my own writing desk!

0:25:06 > 0:25:09- Do you want a closer look?- And you've got an old-school typewriter.

0:25:09 > 0:25:13It's actually got a tablet and a typewriter system in it, as well.

0:25:13 > 0:25:15That is quite amazing.

0:25:15 > 0:25:17Take a little look at this, as well.

0:25:18 > 0:25:21- Whoa!- Secret book!- That is amazing.

0:25:21 > 0:25:23So you can store all sorts of stuff in there,

0:25:23 > 0:25:25and nobody even knows what's going on.

0:25:25 > 0:25:28And, Lozza, while you're on that note, check this out.

0:25:28 > 0:25:31- You know these books?- Yes. - They look like library books.

0:25:31 > 0:25:32You pull that out...

0:25:33 > 0:25:35..and it's a secret drawer.

0:25:35 > 0:25:37Whoa!

0:25:37 > 0:25:39- How cool is that?- That is so cool.

0:25:39 > 0:25:44And on the wall there's a library-themed notice board

0:25:44 > 0:25:47and a memento of the day Eleanor met her hero.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50We had such a good day that day, didn't we?

0:25:50 > 0:25:51Yes, definitely.

0:25:51 > 0:25:53And now you have a memento to keep forever

0:25:53 > 0:25:55to remember all the fun we had.

0:25:55 > 0:25:59- Yeah.- We've also got blankets down here as well so you can snuggle up,

0:25:59 > 0:26:04on a bean bag, get yourself nice and comfy and tuck into a good book.

0:26:04 > 0:26:07- So, Eleanor, is it everything you dreamed of?- Definitely.

0:26:07 > 0:26:12Well, I hope that one day you'll pen your very first novel right in here.

0:26:12 > 0:26:14How cool would that be?

0:26:14 > 0:26:17Your task is to get Mark and Lauren somewhere within your first book.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20- What do you reckon? - You could be witches and wizards.

0:26:20 > 0:26:22I will take a witch. I'll take anything, to be honest.

0:26:22 > 0:26:25- A good witch. - Thank you, that's great.

0:26:25 > 0:26:26All that's left to do

0:26:26 > 0:26:28is show Eleanor's friends and family the den.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31Come on, guys, in you come.

0:26:32 > 0:26:33Welcome to Eleanor's den.

0:26:34 > 0:26:36Come on in.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38Wow!

0:26:38 > 0:26:40- Look at all those books. - That's amazing!

0:26:40 > 0:26:42Let's leave them to it.

0:26:42 > 0:26:45- We'll leave them to it. Have fun, guys.- Enjoy, guys.

0:26:45 > 0:26:50When I saw the den I felt, like, quite excited

0:26:50 > 0:26:53because there was quite a few changes from when I last saw it

0:26:53 > 0:26:56and I just got all excited and tingly.

0:26:59 > 0:27:02I feel like we are going to keep finding amazing things.

0:27:03 > 0:27:04How are those books there?

0:27:04 > 0:27:06Oh! Look at that!

0:27:06 > 0:27:10I think that my den is really magical and amazing,

0:27:10 > 0:27:13and I think lots of friends will be coming over.

0:27:13 > 0:27:16I think I'm going to come up with quite a lot of story ideas,

0:27:16 > 0:27:19and I'm going to do what Mark said, make the book with them in.

0:27:19 > 0:27:22Nothing is what it seems in this place.

0:27:22 > 0:27:24The whole team have worked so hard for the past few days

0:27:24 > 0:27:26in various conditions.

0:27:26 > 0:27:29Just seeing her face, with a big smile,

0:27:29 > 0:27:31has just made it so worthwhile.

0:27:33 > 0:27:36Imagine these stories you're going to write with that.

0:27:36 > 0:27:38- I've already started.- Have you?

0:27:38 > 0:27:41I think the Dengineers have done such a fantastic job

0:27:41 > 0:27:44of bringing Eleanor's ideas to life.

0:27:44 > 0:27:47That space that she just needed away from her brother and sisters

0:27:47 > 0:27:51just makes me so happy and I know it will make her happy, too.

0:27:51 > 0:27:54This den is done!
