0:00:46 > 0:00:49Waaaah!

0:00:54 > 0:00:58We're in Warwickshire to CONJURE up a massive TRICK

0:00:58 > 0:01:01- to surprise today's Dengineer. - Conjure up?

0:01:01 > 0:01:03Trick? What you on about?

0:01:03 > 0:01:06I'll tell you what, Joe, I'll spell it out for you.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08- Right.- It's a witchcraft and wizardry den.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10Of course! Let's meet today's Dengineer.

0:01:17 > 0:01:22Today's Dengineer is nine-year-old Kiran from Coventry.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26I need The Dengineers' help to make a witchcraft and wizardry den for me

0:01:26 > 0:01:28to let my imagination go wild.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32And it's not just Kiran who loves all things magic.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Isn't that right, Mum?

0:01:34 > 0:01:36I must admit, I'm quite a fan of witchcraft and wizardry,

0:01:36 > 0:01:38and I think I've handed on the obsession that I had

0:01:38 > 0:01:41as a child to Kiran now.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45Kiran and his mum Nicola are really close, and she relies on him a lot.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Nicola has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or EDS,

0:01:48 > 0:01:52which means she sometimes finds it hard to walk and gets tired easily.

0:01:52 > 0:01:57I care for my mum whenever I can by doing the washing-up,

0:01:57 > 0:02:01walking the dog and making cups of tea.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03And it's not as easy as it looks.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06And there's someone else who relies on Kiran, his best mate....

0:02:08 > 0:02:12I'd love a den where me and my dog, Pudding, could go and hang out.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Since I've been unwell, we had to move to Coventry

0:02:14 > 0:02:16to be closer to family.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19But he didn't complain at all and he settled in really quickly.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22Kiran always puts me first so it would be really nice to have a space

0:02:22 > 0:02:24where he could put himself first for a change.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27And don't just take mum's word for it.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30Her best friend, Yvonne, lived with the family for six years before

0:02:30 > 0:02:32moving to Australia...

0:02:32 > 0:02:33Hello, Dengineers.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36..and knows exactly how much Kiran helps out.

0:02:36 > 0:02:41I think Kiran really deserves his own den because he's really kind and

0:02:41 > 0:02:43he's super helpful to his mam.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Please, Dengineers, I'd love a space where I could escape

0:02:46 > 0:02:49to the world of witchcraft and wizardry. I need your help.

0:02:51 > 0:02:52Don't you worry, Kiran.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55Our help is exactly what you're going to get.

0:02:55 > 0:02:56You just don't know it yet.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01But he's about to find out because Kiran's on his way to this wizard

0:03:01 > 0:03:03and witch museum.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05WITCH LAUGHS

0:03:06 > 0:03:09What Kiran doesn't know is that this place has been

0:03:09 > 0:03:11taken over by The Dengineers.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18And even the museum owner, Dave, is in on it.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23Kiran thinks he's here on a tour but we've got other ideas.

0:03:25 > 0:03:29And with The Dengineers team in place, the surprise begins.

0:03:29 > 0:03:30Are you ready?

0:03:30 > 0:03:32Then, come with me. Let's have a bit of an adventure.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35As Mum sits down for a rest,

0:03:35 > 0:03:39Kiran and his stepdad, Simon, head upstairs to take a look around.

0:03:39 > 0:03:40Here we go.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45He's literally right there.

0:03:45 > 0:03:46This way.

0:03:46 > 0:03:51So, we'll start in this room, and this room is the witch's cottage.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53We'll have to sneak past.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Is everyone ready? Ready?

0:03:55 > 0:03:58And, look, you can see the broomsticks.

0:04:01 > 0:04:02Have a look around. Cauldron.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05Blow at the cauldron, you'll see all the smoke.

0:04:06 > 0:04:08I can't believe we got away with that.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10So, here we go, let's have a look through here.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13As the tour continues, we get ourselves into position.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15There's one more display for Kiran to see...

0:04:15 > 0:04:17- Hello, love.- Hello, Kiran's mum.- Hi.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20..because we are transforming ourselves into two of the weirdest

0:04:20 > 0:04:23wizards the world has ever seen.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25Where's my wand? Quick, quick. Get one, get a wand.

0:04:27 > 0:04:29- This is it.- Are you feeling brave? - Yeah.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31Excellent, you go first through there.

0:04:33 > 0:04:34Keep going.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40- Hello.- Hello.- Hello, Kiran.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43So, you might have guessed. We're not actually wizards.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45My name is Lauren and this is Joe.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48- Hello, mate.- And we are from CBBC's The Dengineers.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51We have heard, Kiran,

0:04:51 > 0:04:54that you want to make your own witchcraft and wizardry den.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57- Is that right?- Yeah. - We're going to do it.

0:04:57 > 0:04:58How do you feel?

0:04:58 > 0:04:59Amazed.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03A little bit gobsmacked, I think.

0:05:03 > 0:05:04- Yeah.- Well, Kiran,

0:05:04 > 0:05:07we have got a den to build and we need to get moving quickly.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10- I could do that magic clicky thing. - Oh, can you?- Yeah.

0:05:12 > 0:05:14Oh, it worked earlier, I promise.

0:05:14 > 0:05:16- It hasn't worked, so let's walk, shall we?- Let's do that.

0:05:18 > 0:05:20When Lauren and Joe told me I was getting

0:05:20 > 0:05:23my witchcraft and wizardry den, I was astonished.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26I've seen some amazing and magical things in this museum,

0:05:26 > 0:05:29but nothing quite as surprising as this.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31I've never seen him so happy. It's amazing.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33He's a really smart kid,

0:05:33 > 0:05:35so I thought he might have an idea why we were coming here.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39But, yeah, it looks like we managed to pull the wool over his eyes.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45Our first port of call is The Dengineers mobile HQ

0:05:45 > 0:05:49packed with the latest tech to get this den off the ground.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Kiran, welcome to The Dengineers mobile HQ.

0:05:53 > 0:05:56Now, Kiran, through the power of technology,

0:05:56 > 0:05:58we are going to take all of those ideas in your head,

0:05:58 > 0:06:01get them onto this big old computer and work out

0:06:01 > 0:06:03what you need for your den.

0:06:03 > 0:06:04- Ready?- Yeah.- Excited?- Yeah.

0:06:04 > 0:06:08- Amazing.- Let's do this, then.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11Got it. Why is an owl important?

0:06:11 > 0:06:15Because owls are most wizards' pets.

0:06:15 > 0:06:16- That's true.- Absolutely.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18Have you got any pets like an owl?

0:06:18 > 0:06:21I haven't got any like an owl, but I've got a dog.

0:06:21 > 0:06:23- Shall we get him up on the screen? - Yeah.

0:06:23 > 0:06:26- Would Pudding be allowed in your den?- Yeah.- OK, then.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29So, maybe we could factor in a little space for Pudding, maybe.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31- Yeah.- What else, Kiran?

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Can you see anything else that you'd quite like in there?

0:06:33 > 0:06:35I've got potions there.

0:06:35 > 0:06:36Oh, that looks good.

0:06:37 > 0:06:39Making potions, brilliant.

0:06:39 > 0:06:40What should it look like?

0:06:40 > 0:06:44It should look really old and dusty and crooked.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46- Yeah.- Yeah. Great idea.

0:06:46 > 0:06:49- What else do you like?- I like the wand.

0:06:49 > 0:06:51Can't do magic without your wand.

0:06:51 > 0:06:53- No.- What about the colours?

0:06:53 > 0:06:56- I like the green one...- Mm-hmm.

0:06:57 > 0:07:02..and the red one because potions are all sorts of colours.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04- Brilliant.- That's going to look brilliant.

0:07:04 > 0:07:07- What else?- I'd like that cauldron.

0:07:07 > 0:07:10You can't have a witchcraft and wizardry den without a cauldron.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12- No.- Well, Kiran, it's all going on.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14I think we've got a den fit for a wizard.

0:07:14 > 0:07:17I think it's going to be a pretty COOL DEN.

0:07:18 > 0:07:20- What?- Cool den.

0:07:20 > 0:07:22Like cauldron, isn't it?

0:07:22 > 0:07:24- No?- Literally the worst thing I've ever heard.

0:07:24 > 0:07:26- Shall we go and make a den?- Yeah.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29- Come on, let's get out of here. - That's it, go on, WAND-er off!- No!

0:07:30 > 0:07:34Kiran's mood board is a witches and wizards dream world filled with

0:07:34 > 0:07:38potions, spell books, owls and cauldrons.

0:07:38 > 0:07:42A mystical space that will allow Kiran's imagination to run wild.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46And we've got just the designer to do the job.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50It's Sege, and if anyone can work their magic

0:07:50 > 0:07:52to create an amazing den, it's him.

0:07:52 > 0:07:55He's got the power to make the impossible possible.

0:07:57 > 0:07:58Sege, what have you got planned?

0:07:58 > 0:08:00Loads planned, Kiran, loads.

0:08:00 > 0:08:03Now, I've seen the mood board and you've got some fantastic ideas.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06I'm planning on this sort of spooky,

0:08:06 > 0:08:09rickety old witches/wizards house,

0:08:09 > 0:08:13maybe a crooked and rickety roof as well to go with it.

0:08:13 > 0:08:14Very interesting.

0:08:14 > 0:08:17- Yeah?- And maybe somewhere to make your spells.

0:08:17 > 0:08:20- How about that?- Yeah. - With a cauldron, maybe?

0:08:20 > 0:08:22- Yeah.- Do you know what a hocus-pocus floor is?- No.- I- do.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24- Go on, Sege, tell us. - I can't tell you. No.

0:08:24 > 0:08:26What do you mean, a hocus-pocus floor?

0:08:26 > 0:08:27I know what a hocus-pocus floor is.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30You can't say the words, "Hocus-pocus floor" and not tell us.

0:08:30 > 0:08:32- I'm not telling you. - Why's he doing that?- It's my secret.

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Kiran, where would you like it to go, mate?

0:08:34 > 0:08:37- I'd like it to go down there. - All right. Sege, what do you reckon?

0:08:37 > 0:08:39I think that'll look really, really good.

0:08:39 > 0:08:42Something else that's very important is Pudding the dog.

0:08:42 > 0:08:45We need to have an area for Pudding to come and enjoy the den.

0:08:45 > 0:08:48I've got that in hand. I've got a nice little surprise for Pudding.

0:08:48 > 0:08:50- Tell us more, come on! - I can't do that, can't do that,

0:08:50 > 0:08:53- not until the time.- Sege, man! - I've got some fantastic ideas.

0:08:53 > 0:08:55- I think you're going to love it. - Kiran, are you up for all that?

0:08:55 > 0:08:57- Does that sound good, mate?- Yeah.

0:08:57 > 0:08:59Kiran's happy. That means we're happy.

0:08:59 > 0:09:00Fantastic. That means I'm happy.

0:09:02 > 0:09:06Sege has designed a space that would fit right into a fantasy world.

0:09:06 > 0:09:09The outside of the den will be built to look like a rickety old house,

0:09:09 > 0:09:12perfect for the finest witch or wizard.

0:09:12 > 0:09:14Inside, there'll be an area for mixing potions,

0:09:14 > 0:09:18a space to write spells and a mysterious hocus-pocus floor

0:09:18 > 0:09:20that only Sege could conjure up.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24I hope Kiran really liked my design ideas,

0:09:24 > 0:09:27because I'm very excited about getting started on this.

0:09:27 > 0:09:31I think Sege is the right man for the job because he's the den wizard

0:09:31 > 0:09:33and I'm really excited.

0:09:37 > 0:09:41Sege has decided to build the den in this part of the garden

0:09:41 > 0:09:45but before we do anything, we need to clear the space.

0:09:45 > 0:09:47We've got an awful lot of trampoline there, Si.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49Direct us, Mo. Nice one.

0:09:49 > 0:09:52It looks like Simon could be stuck there for a while.

0:09:54 > 0:09:58OK, so that's everything done, apart from Pudding's done a whoopsie,

0:09:58 > 0:10:00which we should probably clear up.

0:10:00 > 0:10:01Can I borrow your magic wand?

0:10:01 > 0:10:03- Yeah.- Yeah?

0:10:03 > 0:10:06All right, everybody say the magic word, hocus POO-cus.

0:10:07 > 0:10:08- ALL:- Hocus POO-cus.

0:10:10 > 0:10:12Hey, amazing.

0:10:12 > 0:10:13- Wow.- Magic.- You're welcome.

0:10:15 > 0:10:19With everything cleared, it's time for Mum and Simon to also disappear.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21Well, I must say, the garden is looking loads better, guys.

0:10:21 > 0:10:24Thanks very much for your help, but unfortunately,

0:10:24 > 0:10:27it's time for you two to get your marching orders.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29- Off you go.- Toodle-oos.

0:10:29 > 0:10:30Sorry, Pudding as well.

0:10:30 > 0:10:32- Toodle-oos.- Bye.

0:10:32 > 0:10:34- Bye, Pudding.- Oh, can Pudding stay?

0:10:34 > 0:10:37- No.- It's the last time we'll see our garden like this.

0:10:37 > 0:10:40It's a bit scary, isn't it, really, leaving Kiran in charge?

0:10:40 > 0:10:43- Yeah.- Kiran could be a bad influence.

0:10:43 > 0:10:44And he can be very persuasive.

0:10:47 > 0:10:50Day One, and the Dengineers have arrived in town.

0:10:50 > 0:10:51The garden may be cleared,

0:10:51 > 0:10:54but this plot of land is in need of some serious groundworks,

0:10:54 > 0:10:57and nothing's going to stop Dengineers Jamie and Kiran

0:10:57 > 0:11:01- getting their hands dirty.- Apart from the gloves they're wearing!

0:11:01 > 0:11:03Very funny, Joe.

0:11:04 > 0:11:05Let's get this grass up.

0:11:06 > 0:11:07The ground may be tough,

0:11:07 > 0:11:11but the Dengineers are tougher, and the base soon takes shape.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15Right, Kiran, the only thing we need to do now is use

0:11:15 > 0:11:19- this big thing, here. It's a compactor. Are you ready?- Yeah.

0:11:23 > 0:11:24Before the sun sets,

0:11:24 > 0:11:27there's just enough time to set up the Dengineers' village.

0:11:28 > 0:11:31The clock is ticking and the countdown has begun,

0:11:31 > 0:11:34for tomorrow, we build a den.

0:11:34 > 0:11:37It's been amazing hanging out with the Dengineers.

0:11:37 > 0:11:39I can't imagine what the den is going to look like

0:11:39 > 0:11:41when it's finished.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46It's Day Two, and it's a bit too quiet.

0:11:46 > 0:11:49There is a serious lack of Dengineers onsite.

0:11:49 > 0:11:50I don't know where Sege is.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52He said he'd be here first thing and he's not here,

0:11:52 > 0:11:54and there's not much we can do without him.

0:11:54 > 0:11:55Hey, Joe!

0:11:55 > 0:11:57- Sege!- Joe!- Sege, are you invisible?

0:11:57 > 0:11:59- Over here.- Where?

0:11:59 > 0:12:02Oh. What are you doing down there?

0:12:02 > 0:12:05Well, mate, I think we've got our first problem of the day, here.

0:12:05 > 0:12:07- What's that?- Look at the driveway.

0:12:07 > 0:12:11This isn't an illusion. Kiran's driveway really is that steep.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16- Whoa!- Wow!- What about that, then?

0:12:16 > 0:12:18It's going to take all the Dengineers' strength and

0:12:18 > 0:12:20power to get the den into that garden.

0:12:21 > 0:12:25I'm feeling excited because parts of the den have arrived.

0:12:25 > 0:12:26I can't wait.

0:12:27 > 0:12:30With the den unloaded, electricians Ross and Tom arrive to

0:12:30 > 0:12:32take power from the house out to the garden.

0:12:32 > 0:12:36It means a lot of drilling, and Kiran is on hand to help out.

0:12:39 > 0:12:40Nice work, Kiran.

0:12:42 > 0:12:45While the Dengineers crack on, I catch up with Mum and stepdad

0:12:45 > 0:12:50Simon to find out more about Kiran and why he needs this den.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53Well, Mum and Dad, I'm afraid to say no amount of magic,

0:12:53 > 0:12:57no potions are going to help you now because that den is on its way to

0:12:57 > 0:12:58being built. How are you feeling?

0:12:58 > 0:13:00Yeah, we've passed the stage of being nervous about

0:13:00 > 0:13:03what's being built and more now nervous about Kiran walking around

0:13:03 > 0:13:04with power tools.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07You know, we've got an eye on him. Tell us about Kiran as a kid,

0:13:07 > 0:13:08what kind of a kid is he?

0:13:08 > 0:13:10He makes friends really easy.

0:13:10 > 0:13:14Yeah, he's a really giving child, very generous in his nature.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17For you, what does it mean to have a kid who you can rely on,

0:13:17 > 0:13:18someone like Kiran?

0:13:18 > 0:13:22One of the things that happens quite often is I'll have a fall

0:13:22 > 0:13:25or I'll slip, and knowing that he doesn't panic and he knows what

0:13:25 > 0:13:29to do in that situation, or that he's not going to complain if I say,

0:13:29 > 0:13:32"I'm in pain today, I need some alone time."

0:13:32 > 0:13:34It's just, yeah, it's invaluable.

0:13:34 > 0:13:36What about you guys, how excited are you feeling?

0:13:36 > 0:13:38I can't wait to see what it's like.

0:13:38 > 0:13:41- Is he going to let you in, do you think?- Well, he won't know.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43Ah, he'll know.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45- It's Kiran.- I've got a feeling he'll find out.- He'll know.

0:13:45 > 0:13:49Back at the build, and Sege's mysterious floor

0:13:49 > 0:13:51is already causing problems.

0:13:51 > 0:13:52We're really held up.

0:13:52 > 0:13:54It was bad enough getting everything up the hill,

0:13:54 > 0:13:58but now the lights are taking a lot longer than we'd anticipated.

0:13:58 > 0:14:01Are you done? Of course they're not, not done.

0:14:02 > 0:14:04Sege's ambitious design requires Ross, the electrician,

0:14:04 > 0:14:07to install a complicated circuit of lights.

0:14:07 > 0:14:10He's working as fast as he can but, until it's done,

0:14:10 > 0:14:11all other work has to stop.

0:14:12 > 0:14:14Right, we're done. Stop the clock.

0:14:14 > 0:14:16Seriously, are you done?

0:14:16 > 0:14:19- All done.- Amazing. That's lunch. It's not.

0:14:19 > 0:14:22Go on, build the den. What are you doing?

0:14:23 > 0:14:27Ross, you hero, but we're already halfway through Day Two and only

0:14:27 > 0:14:30now can the den start to come together.

0:14:30 > 0:14:34So with the Dengineers laying the base and erecting the sides,

0:14:34 > 0:14:35this build is well underway.

0:14:38 > 0:14:39We're just starting to put the walls up,

0:14:39 > 0:14:41you can see all the great colour...

0:14:41 > 0:14:44- Sege, Sege!- Can you hear something? - Sege!- Yes.- This is heavy! Help!

0:14:44 > 0:14:46What are you doing behind there, squashed?

0:14:46 > 0:14:48- I'm struggling. - Yeah, you're always struggling.

0:14:48 > 0:14:50It's because you don't know how to do a day's work,

0:14:50 > 0:14:53- that's your problem. - Why's he got to be so cruel?

0:14:53 > 0:14:56- I know, see ya, got to go. - Where's he...

0:14:56 > 0:14:57He's only joking, Joe.

0:14:57 > 0:15:00The Dengineers always stick together, and with Sege's help,

0:15:00 > 0:15:03the den starts to take shape.

0:15:03 > 0:15:08In fact, everyone's involved, even Pudding's getting in on the theme.

0:15:08 > 0:15:12Nice outfit, Puds, and Sege has a special reward for all your efforts.

0:15:19 > 0:15:23Kiran, do you think that Pudding is as excited as you are

0:15:23 > 0:15:26- about our new den?- Yeah. - I think so too.

0:15:26 > 0:15:28- Do you see this old cooking pot? - Mm-hm.

0:15:28 > 0:15:32I think we should turn that into a dog bed for him.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36First up, Sege and Kiran sand the lid, ready to paint it,

0:15:36 > 0:15:38before adding a gold rim around the lid.

0:15:38 > 0:15:40I accidentally got it all up there.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42I'm sure we can get over that.

0:15:42 > 0:15:45After a few more touches, the lid is done.

0:15:45 > 0:15:48So I think that looks really, really cool now, don't you?

0:15:48 > 0:15:50It looks like a cauldron.

0:15:50 > 0:15:54And, of course, a wizard's best friend needs to be comfy.

0:15:54 > 0:15:55I've got a wooden base, OK...

0:15:57 > 0:15:59..another piece of foam that I'm going to stick on

0:15:59 > 0:16:01- to the wooden base. OK? - With the yellow thing?

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Yeah. Then we'll cover it with this,

0:16:04 > 0:16:06which will make him really comfortable and then we'll staple

0:16:06 > 0:16:09that all together and it should make a wonderful cushion.

0:16:09 > 0:16:13The next time Kiran sees Pudding's upcycled bed will be in the den.

0:16:13 > 0:16:15But until then, it's back to work.

0:16:17 > 0:16:22Day Two hasn't been easy so far, and the build is about to get

0:16:22 > 0:16:23even more technical.

0:16:23 > 0:16:27As you can see, all around me, there is a lot of bits and pieces

0:16:27 > 0:16:29and parts of the roof that have got to go up.

0:16:29 > 0:16:32So there's a lot of work. I'm a bit worried because the weather seems to

0:16:32 > 0:16:35be closing in on us and it's looking a bit grey,

0:16:35 > 0:16:38so a lot to do in a short space of time.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40We must beat the weather.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43With the rain about to fall, it's a race against time to get it done.

0:16:45 > 0:16:47Coming to the end of Day Two, and it's been a good day,

0:16:47 > 0:16:51but I've been really, really impressed with young Kiran.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54He's been helping with the floor, helping with the walls.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57He's been screwing things down. He's been a real Dengineer.

0:17:02 > 0:17:04With day about to turn into night,

0:17:04 > 0:17:08the Dengineers just manage to finish the first stage of the roof.

0:17:14 > 0:17:19Day Three has barely begun and the Dengineers are already cracking on.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22That's a den, and it needs finishing.

0:17:22 > 0:17:25Everything's working against us. It's very wet.

0:17:25 > 0:17:26We've still got the roof to finish.

0:17:26 > 0:17:28We've still got the floor to finish and the lights.

0:17:28 > 0:17:31Even though Kiran can't see his den,

0:17:31 > 0:17:33we've still got a lot of work for him to do,

0:17:33 > 0:17:35so we've got to fit that in somehow as well.

0:17:35 > 0:17:36Loads and loads for us to get on with.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41With the rain holding off, work immediately starts on the roof.

0:17:44 > 0:17:49I kind of feel excited and a bit annoyed I can't see my den today,

0:17:49 > 0:17:51but I know Sege will look after it.

0:17:54 > 0:17:58While the Dengineers get on, Sege has an important job for Kiran -

0:17:58 > 0:18:00filling up this old book with spells.

0:18:00 > 0:18:02HIGH-PITCHED LAUGH

0:18:02 > 0:18:03Oh, I like the sound of that one.

0:18:05 > 0:18:06Gaggly giggle.

0:18:08 > 0:18:12HE GIGGLES

0:18:14 > 0:18:16There's no time for laughing, Sege.

0:18:16 > 0:18:20The roof may almost be up, but the hocus pocus floor and the rest of

0:18:20 > 0:18:23the inside still needs a lot of work.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29- Sege.- Hello, mate.- The den's looking great, it's brilliant,

0:18:29 > 0:18:32I just wondered what else you've got in store for the inside?

0:18:32 > 0:18:35Well, Joe, we've got loads of stuff in store for the inside and we're

0:18:35 > 0:18:36even going to get potions in there as well.

0:18:36 > 0:18:39- Like that one?- Yeah, a bit like that.

0:18:39 > 0:18:41We're using something that is very,

0:18:41 > 0:18:42very useful in the construction industry.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44- Right.- It's called dry ice.

0:18:44 > 0:18:47- Dry ice?- Watch this. - OK.- I'm going to show you something.

0:18:47 > 0:18:49Look what happens when you put it in there.

0:18:49 > 0:18:52- Look at that.- Look at the atmosphere that gives off.- That's amazing.

0:18:52 > 0:18:53How's that for a bit of smoke?

0:18:53 > 0:18:56Dry ice isn't like the normal ice you put into drinks, you know.

0:18:56 > 0:18:59This is a solid form of carbon dioxide and it has a surface

0:18:59 > 0:19:01temperature of minus 78 degrees Celsius.

0:19:01 > 0:19:03Minus 78? That's chilly.

0:19:03 > 0:19:06- That's cold, isn't it?- Wow! - So, how does it work, then?

0:19:06 > 0:19:09Well, you see, Joe, normally when substances heat up,

0:19:09 > 0:19:14they transform from a solid and then a liquid before turning into a gas.

0:19:14 > 0:19:16Think about a regular ice cube melting.

0:19:16 > 0:19:20It goes from a solid, turning into water before evaporating.

0:19:21 > 0:19:25But because dry ice is so cold, it heats up really quickly when it

0:19:25 > 0:19:27comes into contact with other materials

0:19:27 > 0:19:32and misses out the liquid state in the middle and turns straight

0:19:32 > 0:19:35into gas, and this is called sublimation.

0:19:36 > 0:19:38It's got other uses as well.

0:19:38 > 0:19:40This process means it can also be used, you see, for

0:19:40 > 0:19:42maintaining buildings and structures,

0:19:42 > 0:19:44and I'm going to show you how it works.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46- OK.- But you've to put these on first.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48- Right.- Stand back and watch my mate, Ian.

0:19:48 > 0:19:49Take it away, Ian.

0:19:59 > 0:20:00- Loud, weren't it?- Yeah. What is it?

0:20:00 > 0:20:04That's dry-ice blasting and it's great for restoring wood

0:20:04 > 0:20:06and cleaning brickwork and stonework.

0:20:06 > 0:20:10Because it's so cold, when dry ice is fired at high speeds,

0:20:10 > 0:20:14heat is transferred very quickly from the surface it hits,

0:20:14 > 0:20:19to the dry ice, removing any layer of dirt it comes into contact with.

0:20:19 > 0:20:22Wow! Wood and metal needs to be maintained because, if it's not,

0:20:22 > 0:20:24it will fall down or decay?

0:20:24 > 0:20:26- Exactly.- Amazing.

0:20:26 > 0:20:28Well, after all that, I need to chill out!

0:20:30 > 0:20:34But Sege and Joe aren't the only ones who get to play with potions

0:20:34 > 0:20:38because I'm taking Kiran to a place full of sorcery.

0:20:38 > 0:20:40So Kiran, for your den day out,

0:20:40 > 0:20:42I wanted to bring you somewhere amazing,

0:20:42 > 0:20:45somewhere extra special and somewhere that you

0:20:45 > 0:20:47are never going to forget.

0:20:47 > 0:20:50So guess what, I brought you to school.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52But I go to school every day.

0:20:52 > 0:20:58Ah, yes, but not a school like this one because this is actually the set

0:20:58 > 0:21:01of CBBC's The Worst Witch.

0:21:01 > 0:21:05- Shall we go and have a look? - Yeah.- Come on.

0:21:06 > 0:21:09CBBC's The Worst Witch is the incredible story of Mildred Hubble

0:21:09 > 0:21:12and her classmates who attend a special school for magic.

0:21:12 > 0:21:16Based on the books by Jill Murphy, the show is into its second series,

0:21:16 > 0:21:19and Kiran and I have got exclusive VIP access to the set.

0:21:21 > 0:21:25But before we can go anywhere, Kiran has to look the part.

0:21:25 > 0:21:26Looking cool.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28That is make-up done, what's next?

0:21:28 > 0:21:30I think you're booked in for costume next.

0:21:30 > 0:21:31Oh, come on then, let's go, Kiran.

0:21:33 > 0:21:36And just like magic, it's time to have a proper look around.

0:21:39 > 0:21:40Eurgh, that's horrible.

0:21:42 > 0:21:45Right behind us, they are actually filming a scene.

0:21:45 > 0:21:47How does it feel that you're getting

0:21:47 > 0:21:51- an exclusive look before anyone else?- Exciting!

0:21:51 > 0:21:52It's really exciting, isn't it?

0:21:58 > 0:22:00And the magic doesn't end there.

0:22:01 > 0:22:04I'm a little bit scared right now because we are joined

0:22:04 > 0:22:06by Miss Hardbroom.

0:22:06 > 0:22:09I am Miss Hardbroom, Deputy Headmistress.

0:22:10 > 0:22:11And you are?

0:22:12 > 0:22:15Mildred, Mildred Hubble.

0:22:15 > 0:22:19Kiran, I mean, dare you ask a question?

0:22:19 > 0:22:23- Can you give me three top tips at being a wizard?- OK.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26You must work very, very hard.

0:22:26 > 0:22:30If your heart is not in it, you will never be a fine wizard.

0:22:30 > 0:22:35And finally, you need very long, very dark fingernails.

0:22:38 > 0:22:40She is terrifying. I think I need to get out of here.

0:22:40 > 0:22:43- Shall we leave her be, Kiran?- Yeah. - Quick, let's get out of the here.

0:22:43 > 0:22:46Bye, Miss Hardbroom. Bye.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48Today, I've had the best day.

0:22:48 > 0:22:53I've been able to hang out with the cast and I've picked up enough magic

0:22:53 > 0:22:55to take back to the den.

0:22:57 > 0:22:58Nice one, Kiran.

0:22:58 > 0:23:01I hope you can cast a spell to freeze time because we've got so

0:23:01 > 0:23:02much left to do.

0:23:04 > 0:23:06Oh, yeah, just like that. It's amazing.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11But spells don't last forever.

0:23:11 > 0:23:12We've still got a lot to do,

0:23:12 > 0:23:15so I'm not quite sure whether we're going to be ready on time tomorrow.

0:23:15 > 0:23:18I'm still not sure, even this late in the day.

0:23:18 > 0:23:19Fingers crossed, we'll make it.

0:23:24 > 0:23:27It's the final day of the den build, and in just a few hours' time,

0:23:27 > 0:23:31Kiran is going to get to see his den for the very first time.

0:23:31 > 0:23:35Now, if only there was a way that a paintbrush would just magically

0:23:35 > 0:23:38appear, so I could do finishing touches.

0:23:38 > 0:23:40Oh, it's magic.

0:23:40 > 0:23:42Lauren, I'm scared of heights.

0:23:42 > 0:23:44Shush, Joe!

0:23:44 > 0:23:45I'm sorry, I really don't like it up here.

0:23:45 > 0:23:48Oh, Joe, you've ruined this for me now!

0:23:48 > 0:23:50Oh, no, don't be... Oops!

0:23:50 > 0:23:52The Dengineers have got it all to do.

0:23:52 > 0:23:56Kiran's up early preparing some mystical treats ahead of the reveal

0:23:56 > 0:24:00and down at the den, there's some final finishing touches required.

0:24:00 > 0:24:02I've got something I wanted to give to Kiran in the den.

0:24:02 > 0:24:04This is a magic wand that I've had for my whole life.

0:24:04 > 0:24:06- Is that all right?- Yeah, brilliant.

0:24:06 > 0:24:08- Amazing, does it still work? - I don't know.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11I hope it does because we've still got a lot to put in here yet.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13- Shall we have a look? - Yeah, give it a go.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28And it looks as if we finished the den just in time because,

0:24:28 > 0:24:29along with the rain,

0:24:29 > 0:24:33Kiran's family and friends have arrived for the big reveal.

0:24:33 > 0:24:35And those wizardry snacks are going down a treat.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39- I'm really nervous, are you nervous? - I'm nervous, yeah.

0:24:39 > 0:24:43His imagination is so wild and suddenly there's these people here

0:24:43 > 0:24:45who can make those things a reality.

0:24:45 > 0:24:48I'm so excited, I've been waiting for this moment for so long.

0:24:48 > 0:24:50It's going to be magical!

0:24:58 > 0:25:01The Dengineers have no more tricks left up their sleeves.

0:25:01 > 0:25:04Kiran's witchcraft and wizardry den is complete.

0:25:04 > 0:25:07All that's left is to reveal the finished den

0:25:07 > 0:25:08for the very first time.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10- ALL:- Three, two, one...

0:25:13 > 0:25:16- ALL:- Wow!

0:25:16 > 0:25:20Sege and the Dengineers have transformed this space from a patch

0:25:20 > 0:25:23of old grass to a fantasy world fit for the finest of wizards.

0:25:25 > 0:25:27- Oh, wow!- It's amazing.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30Kiran wanted a den which would allow him to have a break

0:25:30 > 0:25:33from looking after his mum and escape to the magical world

0:25:33 > 0:25:35of witchcraft and wizardry.

0:25:35 > 0:25:39Complete with his own very owls and even a broomstick to fly on.

0:25:39 > 0:25:42What about this, Kiran? Your very own ride.

0:25:42 > 0:25:45Oh, I like that! Wow.

0:25:45 > 0:25:47- Come on, jump on. - It's a broomstick.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50You can fly on your own broomstick.

0:25:50 > 0:25:53So you've got a nose on the front door, there,

0:25:53 > 0:25:56a beard and the whole roof is actually one big hat.

0:25:56 > 0:25:58- It's amazing.- Are you happy?

0:25:58 > 0:26:00How about you, Mum and Dad, what do you think?

0:26:00 > 0:26:01- It's awesome.- It's so cool.

0:26:01 > 0:26:05There was no way we could ever have imagined this, at all.

0:26:05 > 0:26:08And the magic continues inside.

0:26:08 > 0:26:09Wow!

0:26:10 > 0:26:13A table to conjure up potions,

0:26:13 > 0:26:16a place to sit and write spells and an upcycled cauldron for a wizard's

0:26:16 > 0:26:18best friend.

0:26:18 > 0:26:20Don't forget up here as well,

0:26:20 > 0:26:22we've got our little trip, fun day out to go and see The Worst Witch.

0:26:22 > 0:26:25- You're scared. - Terrified of Miss Hardbroom.

0:26:25 > 0:26:26I don't look scared.

0:26:26 > 0:26:30And a signed The Worst Witch drawing from all of the cast.

0:26:30 > 0:26:31They've signed it for you.

0:26:31 > 0:26:33How cool is that?
