0:00:02 > 0:00:04- I'm Lauren.- And I'm Joe. - And this is The Dengineers.

0:00:04 > 0:00:07The show that puts you in charge of building your very own dream den.

0:00:07 > 0:00:09Over the past two series,

0:00:09 > 0:00:13we've helped children all over the UK transform their ideas into

0:00:13 > 0:00:15amazing spaces.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19This is so awesome.

0:00:19 > 0:00:20- Epic.- And now,

0:00:20 > 0:00:24we're going back to find out how the dens have changed the lives of the

0:00:24 > 0:00:25Dengineers that created them.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27It is just more than he could ever have wanted.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Aw, Mum...

0:00:29 > 0:00:32This is The Dengineers Revisit.

0:00:35 > 0:00:37Yeah!

0:00:42 > 0:00:43Wiped everywhere!

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Amazing!

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Lauren, it was such a good idea of yours,

0:00:55 > 0:00:57coming here, down at the beach,

0:00:57 > 0:00:58hanging out, getting to know each other.

0:00:58 > 0:01:03Well, it takes a lot of hard work making the awesome dens that we make

0:01:03 > 0:01:05on The Dengineers. So it is good to, you know,

0:01:05 > 0:01:07just sit back and chill out for a bit.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09I can't quite believe I'm actually going to be a Dengineer.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12I'm such a big fan. I've watched all the shows, I've read the handbook.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14- There is a handbook? - There is a handbook.

0:01:14 > 0:01:15- I'd better read that. - It's massive.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Anyway, what do you think about my amazing sand castle?

0:01:20 > 0:01:21No!

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Well, that was a bit clumsy, wasn't it?

0:01:24 > 0:01:27What is this? "Dear Lauren and Joe,

0:01:27 > 0:01:30"you need to get up to speed for the next series.

0:01:30 > 0:01:33"So welcome to Build It Boot Camp.

0:01:33 > 0:01:37"Happy holidays, love The Dengineers."

0:01:37 > 0:01:38Well, there goes your ice cream, Joe.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43And this is no ordinary boot camp,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46as we've been sent to Europe's biggest construction college

0:01:46 > 0:01:48to brush up on our skills.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50So while we get kitted up and ready for action,

0:01:50 > 0:01:54it is time to rewind back to the beginning and take a look at our

0:01:54 > 0:01:55very first build.

0:01:57 > 0:02:01Dengineer Ben had just moved house for the seventh time when the team

0:02:01 > 0:02:04came along to build him the ultimate survival den.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06My dad is a vicar, and because of this,

0:02:06 > 0:02:08we have had to move around loads.

0:02:08 > 0:02:11I've lived in seven different houses and had to go to four different

0:02:11 > 0:02:15primary schools. This move has been the hardest one because I have had

0:02:15 > 0:02:17to leave loads of friends behind.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20There was no doubt that Ben really deserved his den.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23And The Dengineers couldn't wait to surprise him.

0:02:23 > 0:02:25And we do like to throw ourselves into a theme,

0:02:25 > 0:02:31so it was camouflage on and tent up as we staked out Ben's garden.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33- He is coming out the door. - Is he?- Yeah.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36If you just go round there and have a look, because it's in the...

0:02:36 > 0:02:38around the fence.

0:02:38 > 0:02:39- Hello.- Hello.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41My name is Lauren, this is Mark.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43We are here to tell you that you, Ben,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46are going to get to build your very own dream den.

0:02:46 > 0:02:47Yes!

0:02:49 > 0:02:53This build was a challenge as the den had one very special feature -

0:02:53 > 0:02:55an underground bunker.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57But thanks to Dengineer Frank, we were soon on our way.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02Even Ben got hands-on.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08And he was really impressed with the look of his den.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10I just thought it would just be plain, like, walls.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13But with this it looks amazing.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16Building the den was a real team effort and The Dengineers couldn't

0:03:16 > 0:03:19wait for Ben to see it for the very first time.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22Ben, come and have a look at your den.

0:03:22 > 0:03:23Wow!

0:03:23 > 0:03:25That's amazing!

0:03:27 > 0:03:30I learned some pretty nifty survival skills when we were building Ben's

0:03:30 > 0:03:32den, and I am putting them into practice right now.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39Don't worry, I am perfectly camouflaged. Come on.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43Yeah, perfectly hidden.

0:03:48 > 0:03:49Lauren, I can see you, man.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51What do you mean you can see me?

0:03:51 > 0:03:53I thought I was channelling Steve Backshall.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Look, I've got a bit of nature on me there. Look at that.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57So, Ben, what has been going on since I saw you last time?

0:03:57 > 0:03:59I hear it has been all change at your house.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02Yeah, so my dad has become like a proper vicar and stuff,

0:04:02 > 0:04:05so I will be staying here for at least ten years.

0:04:05 > 0:04:06Oh, great news.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10What was it like seeing your ideas come to life?

0:04:10 > 0:04:13I never thought I would get on The Dengineers, but then it happened,

0:04:13 > 0:04:14and then...

0:04:14 > 0:04:17yeah, this happened. It was so cool.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19I love the way that they put it all together.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22And used bits like the grass they had dug up for the hole

0:04:22 > 0:04:25- to make the mound. - Which I must say is looking amazing.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28And when we ate bugs.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31Yeah, that was good for you, because you didn't eat a bug.

0:04:31 > 0:04:36That bug was one of the worst things I have eaten in my entire life.

0:04:36 > 0:04:37Fact.

0:04:37 > 0:04:38Ooh, that's horrid!

0:04:38 > 0:04:41Ugh! Dry. Very dry.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43Mmm, crispy.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45I loved The Dengineers coming so much,

0:04:45 > 0:04:48we made like this scrapbook of everything that happened.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50It is like going back in time, this.

0:04:50 > 0:04:52This is amazing.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54Look at you. Look at your hair.

0:04:54 > 0:04:55You've grown up so much.

0:04:55 > 0:04:57And there is the Den Day Out.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59I don't think I have been more jealous of

0:04:59 > 0:05:01any Den Day Out apart from that one.

0:05:01 > 0:05:03Meeting THE Stevie B!

0:05:03 > 0:05:06Yeah, that was so cool. I loved the way he emerged from the grass.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11Steve, meet Ben. Ben, meet Steve.

0:05:11 > 0:05:15While The Dengineers were hard at work building Ben's den,

0:05:15 > 0:05:19Steve showed the boys how to make a very different type of shelter in

0:05:19 > 0:05:20true survival style.

0:05:21 > 0:05:23I feel quite proud of myself.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28And Steve had a surprise in store for Ben.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31There is one last tool that every naturalist should have.

0:05:31 > 0:05:35So that is a little present for you to get started on your den.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Thank you.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40Well, it has been brilliant looking back on some memories,

0:05:40 > 0:05:44but right now I think I would love to have a tour of the den.

0:05:44 > 0:05:46Are you sure, Loz?

0:05:46 > 0:05:50Because Ben's den has become a home for loads of your favourite

0:05:50 > 0:05:51creepy crawlies.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54Spiders everywhere.

0:05:57 > 0:05:58Yeah, looks pretty bad.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00OK, so I'm not the biggest fan of spiders.

0:06:00 > 0:06:02You are not the biggest fan of spiders.

0:06:02 > 0:06:06So, luckily, today we are armed with spider catchers.

0:06:06 > 0:06:07- You ready to do this?- Yeah.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09- Go on, then, after you.- No, no, you.

0:06:09 > 0:06:11No, you can go first, seriously.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13No, it's fine. Ladies first.

0:06:13 > 0:06:14No! No, Ben, you can just get in there.

0:06:14 > 0:06:16It is your den, mate.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18No, go on, you built it.

0:06:22 > 0:06:23SHE SCREAMS

0:06:23 > 0:06:25This is horrible. This is horrible.

0:06:25 > 0:06:26Oh...!

0:06:29 > 0:06:31Run free, you little horror show.

0:06:31 > 0:06:35One down, and approximately 126 left to go.

0:06:35 > 0:06:36Ugh...

0:06:36 > 0:06:37Aargh!

0:06:39 > 0:06:40Oh!

0:06:40 > 0:06:44Fortunately for us, Dengineers Ollie and Connor have volunteered

0:06:44 > 0:06:45to finish off.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49- I'm not sure Connor's too keen, though.- This is the worst.

0:06:49 > 0:06:51While The Dengineers finish clearing out Ben's den,

0:06:51 > 0:06:54I'm off for a catch up with Mum and Dad.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57What do you think the den has done for Ben?

0:06:57 > 0:07:02It was brilliant for Ben to see the kind of design of his den and see it

0:07:02 > 0:07:05being engineered and take part with the digger and everything.

0:07:05 > 0:07:08Look what can be done, really, with some ideas and with good skills.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11And I think as well the behind the scenes stuff,

0:07:11 > 0:07:14the filming and the sound, I think he was really inspired by that.

0:07:14 > 0:07:18So he has gone on to choose media studies as an option next year,

0:07:18 > 0:07:19and he makes little films.

0:07:19 > 0:07:22And I think it will be something that he will look into

0:07:22 > 0:07:23as he gets older.

0:07:24 > 0:07:27With the last of the spiders finally given the boot,

0:07:27 > 0:07:29Ben and his friends can move back in.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Just in time for a tasty treat.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36Knock, knock. Hiya, you all right?

0:07:36 > 0:07:37Having fun?

0:07:37 > 0:07:40- Yeah.- Well, come out here. I've just got a quick question for you guys.

0:07:40 > 0:07:42Oh, no.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44Oh, no, indeed.

0:07:44 > 0:07:48It is time for sweet, sweet revenge.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50- Really?- We are going for this boy.

0:07:50 > 0:07:53Do you remember that? That was the locust that I had.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57- ALL:- Five, four, three, two, one.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03- Ugh. - LAUREN LAUGHS

0:08:04 > 0:08:06I told you it was disgusting.

0:08:06 > 0:08:08You didn't believe me, did you?

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Now, it's only fair that you eat yours.

0:08:10 > 0:08:11No, chance. Hold that for me, boys.

0:08:11 > 0:08:14See you later, bye. Not again, not again, not again, not again.

0:08:14 > 0:08:16Eat it, come on.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19This is Layfield officially leaving the building. See you.

0:08:19 > 0:08:22- Come on, you know you want one. - No, I don't want one.

0:08:22 > 0:08:23Being chased by bugs.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26And that is why, Joe, as a Dengineer,

0:08:26 > 0:08:28you need to be prepared for anything.

0:08:28 > 0:08:30Will, hit the button now, go, go, go.

0:08:30 > 0:08:33- Wahey!- Hang on.- Here we go. - We're going up.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35- What do you think? - Did you know we were going up?

0:08:35 > 0:08:37- You love heights, don't you? - I don't love heights!

0:08:37 > 0:08:40- No, I don't either, actually. - No.- They are scary, aren't they?

0:08:40 > 0:08:44But, I will say, Joe, you are taking this like an absolute Dengi-ninja.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47Dengi-nana, more like. My legs are wobbling. Can I get off now?

0:08:47 > 0:08:49Will, back down we go.

0:08:49 > 0:08:51Will, I thought we were stopping down there.

0:08:51 > 0:08:55- What are you doing, man?- We're going up.- This is so high!

0:08:55 > 0:08:58Two years ago, we met nine-year-old budding art ninja Nyobi,

0:08:58 > 0:09:00who was in serious need of some space.

0:09:02 > 0:09:06I love art, especially drawing and sketching.

0:09:06 > 0:09:10I'd love to do more art, but I don't have the right materials.

0:09:10 > 0:09:14Nyobi's room was cramped, with no space to get creative.

0:09:14 > 0:09:18It would be amazing to have a den so I can do all my art in there.

0:09:18 > 0:09:22I really need help from The Dengineers.

0:09:22 > 0:09:23And help we did,

0:09:23 > 0:09:26as we got permission from the housing association

0:09:26 > 0:09:27that owns Nyobi's house

0:09:27 > 0:09:31to transform her bedroom into a super cool art pad with some

0:09:31 > 0:09:33incredible hands-on tech.

0:09:33 > 0:09:35Do you love it or what?

0:09:35 > 0:09:37- I love it.- Is it what you dreamed of?

0:09:37 > 0:09:40- Yes!- It is safe to say Nyobi loved her new den.

0:09:40 > 0:09:44But the reaction to the series had to go to mum Dawn when she walked in

0:09:44 > 0:09:46for the very first time.

0:09:46 > 0:09:47Oh...

0:09:48 > 0:09:50Oh!

0:09:50 > 0:09:51Oh, my...

0:09:51 > 0:09:53Is this yours?

0:09:53 > 0:09:54Yeah.

0:09:54 > 0:09:55Oh!

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Oh, I'm going to cry.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02Aw, Mum.

0:10:02 > 0:10:06I've come back to Manchester to find out how things have changed for

0:10:06 > 0:10:07Nyobi and her mum two years on.

0:10:10 > 0:10:15- Hello!- Hi.- How are you?

0:10:16 > 0:10:19So, Nyobi, let's have a little look, shall we?

0:10:19 > 0:10:20Wow!

0:10:21 > 0:10:24This looks amazing!

0:10:24 > 0:10:27Oh, you have kept it in such good condition.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29You know what, if this was my room,

0:10:29 > 0:10:32by now I'm pretty sure it would all have been a mess.

0:10:32 > 0:10:34What have we got around here as well? Your computer.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37- How is it working out? - It is going really good.

0:10:37 > 0:10:39Can I have a little look at some stuff you've been doing?

0:10:39 > 0:10:41So first of all, I made a game.

0:10:41 > 0:10:42I am trying to make it.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44No way.

0:10:44 > 0:10:46So this is Pig Tails.

0:10:46 > 0:10:49She can attack people with her pigtails.

0:10:49 > 0:10:50Wow!

0:10:50 > 0:10:52So you actually created that?

0:10:52 > 0:10:55- Yeah. And this is you. - That's amazing!

0:10:55 > 0:10:57Am I wearing dungarees there?

0:10:57 > 0:10:59- Yes.- There is two little bits of coloured hair.

0:10:59 > 0:11:03- Oh, I love it.- And this is the game.

0:11:03 > 0:11:06Oh, my goodness, that is actually amazing.

0:11:06 > 0:11:07Oh, that's brilliant.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10Look at me and Pigtails just knocking about the grass.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12I genuinely don't even understand how you do it.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14You are so, so clever.

0:11:14 > 0:11:17Also I've created an animation.

0:11:17 > 0:11:19This is called Love Is A Mime.

0:11:19 > 0:11:21LAUGHTER

0:11:23 > 0:11:24Aw...

0:11:26 > 0:11:27You made all this?

0:11:27 > 0:11:28Yeah.

0:11:32 > 0:11:36That is absolutely brilliant, Nyobi!

0:11:36 > 0:11:41So you've made all the characters, you filmed all the characters,

0:11:41 > 0:11:43- you've then edited the film.- Yeah.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46You've made a title sequence, and you've added the sound effects?

0:11:46 > 0:11:49Yeah. I've also been doing this other art as well.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51Let's have a look.

0:11:51 > 0:11:54Nyobi's den really is being put to good use.

0:11:54 > 0:11:57And it is fantastic to see how she is using her art tech to teach

0:11:57 > 0:11:58herself new skills.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03Take us back to when we first came and saw you guys.

0:12:03 > 0:12:06We were literally in your house, in your bathroom,

0:12:06 > 0:12:07up and down your staircase.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09- What was it like for you? - It was manic.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11My house was taken over.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13I was like, what is going on?

0:12:13 > 0:12:16But I knew at the end it was going to be magnificent.

0:12:16 > 0:12:17I just absolutely knew it.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19I still cannot believe it.

0:12:19 > 0:12:21I open the door and I go, "Wow".

0:12:21 > 0:12:23And like you said, her confidence has come on so much.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26- Where do you think that's come from? - I think that's come from

0:12:26 > 0:12:28she's now seen what she can create.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30She has got the tools to do it.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34And every time she's learning, but she's educating herself as well.

0:12:35 > 0:12:38Nyobi's den isn't just a place for her to create art.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41It has also become a really important hang-out space for her

0:12:41 > 0:12:43and her two best friends,

0:12:43 > 0:12:46especially now they are all at different schools.

0:12:47 > 0:12:48When we come to Nyobi's then,

0:12:48 > 0:12:52it is like a place where we can meet up and talk about whatever we want.

0:12:52 > 0:12:55We only get to see each other sometimes cos we've always got

0:12:55 > 0:12:58school and stuff and it is really fun because we usually play games

0:12:58 > 0:13:01together and we do lots of stuff together.

0:13:01 > 0:13:05Nyobi's den is growing with her as she gets older, and watch out,

0:13:05 > 0:13:06world, because who knows?

0:13:06 > 0:13:09We could have a top-class games designer on our hands.

0:13:13 > 0:13:16Oh, I love a good game, and for our next challenge, Joe,

0:13:16 > 0:13:20we are going to have a round of true or false, digger-stylee.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24- OK.- Question one, true or false.

0:13:24 > 0:13:28When I was a kid, I was a table tennis whizz,

0:13:28 > 0:13:31playing the sport for 11 whole years.

0:13:31 > 0:13:32What is it?

0:13:33 > 0:13:37Yeah, nice work.

0:13:37 > 0:13:38Oh, he's going true.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41Yeah?

0:13:41 > 0:13:43It was, it was true.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45- Yeah, I did it right.- Next one.

0:13:45 > 0:13:49- Number two.- My middle name is Bertha.

0:13:51 > 0:13:53There he goes.

0:13:53 > 0:13:54He's going false.

0:13:54 > 0:13:57It was false. You did it!

0:13:57 > 0:13:58Well done!

0:13:58 > 0:14:03Once, I tripped up in front of a former Prime Minister before having

0:14:03 > 0:14:06to do a very serious interview with him.

0:14:06 > 0:14:08True or false?

0:14:08 > 0:14:09Oh, he's gone for true.

0:14:10 > 0:14:11In you go.

0:14:12 > 0:14:16- That is three out of three!- Yay!

0:14:16 > 0:14:18OK, my go.

0:14:18 > 0:14:22- All right, digger.- Are you ready? - Ready.

0:14:22 > 0:14:27Question one, I went to college to learn how to be in a musical.

0:14:27 > 0:14:30Nice and high because I don't want to hit the truck.

0:14:33 > 0:14:37You're getting it everywhere. That's fine, that, isn't it?

0:14:37 > 0:14:38That is in fact...

0:14:38 > 0:14:40- true!- True.

0:14:41 > 0:14:44I was 28 when I first tried pizza.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46- What's wrong with you?- Think!

0:14:46 > 0:14:48I think that is true.

0:14:48 > 0:14:49Ooh... That's fine.

0:14:49 > 0:14:52OK. Right, up we go.

0:14:54 > 0:14:55Release.

0:14:56 > 0:14:58That was good, that, wasn't it?

0:14:58 > 0:15:02- That is true.- Who doesn't have pizza until they are 28?

0:15:02 > 0:15:04Question three.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06My middle name is Gary.

0:15:06 > 0:15:09Joe Gary Tracini?

0:15:11 > 0:15:13Oh...

0:15:13 > 0:15:15Oh, you're teasing me? Of course you are.

0:15:15 > 0:15:18We're going to go this way.

0:15:20 > 0:15:22Literally none of that went in, but correct.

0:15:22 > 0:15:24Correct. Yay!

0:15:27 > 0:15:28Somebody get her out.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36When we got an SOS from Joshua last year, we couldn't wait

0:15:36 > 0:15:39to spring into action and give him the den of his dreams.

0:15:39 > 0:15:43I need help from The Dengineers because I am really passionate about

0:15:43 > 0:15:47my music and I really want to be a DJ one day.

0:15:47 > 0:15:50Joshua's number one fan is his little brother, Owen.

0:15:50 > 0:15:55Owen has Down's syndrome, which means he has a learning difficulty.

0:15:55 > 0:15:58Joshua spends a lot of time with Owen.

0:15:58 > 0:15:59Owen is like his shadow.

0:16:00 > 0:16:04Joshua really needed a space where he could be on his own and practise

0:16:04 > 0:16:05his DJ skills.

0:16:05 > 0:16:10What if we told you that you are going to come away with us to build

0:16:10 > 0:16:13your very own dream den?

0:16:13 > 0:16:14How does that sound?

0:16:14 > 0:16:18- That is cool.- We had never transformed a garage before,

0:16:18 > 0:16:20and for a very good reason.

0:16:20 > 0:16:23They are packed - packed, I tell you - with stuff.

0:16:23 > 0:16:27So it was a good job Olga had a big idea for transforming the space to

0:16:27 > 0:16:29create a DJ podium.

0:16:29 > 0:16:32Let's do a hole in the ceiling.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34- What?- Yeah, why not?

0:16:34 > 0:16:39The worst thing he could do would be putting some big hole in the roof.

0:16:39 > 0:16:43Well, tough luck, Mum, because once it's Dengineers only,

0:16:43 > 0:16:45you have absolutely no control.

0:16:45 > 0:16:49- ALL:- Five, four, three, two, one...

0:16:49 > 0:16:51CHEERING

0:16:54 > 0:16:56That is amazing.

0:16:58 > 0:17:03I have come back to DJ JJ Josh's DJ den in Cardiff to find out all about

0:17:03 > 0:17:05the parties we have been missing out on.

0:17:05 > 0:17:07I'm gutted, Lozzer - I loved that den.

0:17:09 > 0:17:13Hello! Hi, guys.

0:17:13 > 0:17:14Are you all right, mate?

0:17:15 > 0:17:17Josh takes me straight up onto the podium,

0:17:17 > 0:17:20where he's been working his magic on the decks.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22How have your DJ skills been coming on?

0:17:22 > 0:17:25I have been practising like every day and learning new stuff,

0:17:25 > 0:17:29watching videos on the internet, and learning different tricks.

0:17:29 > 0:17:31And how has Owen been? It has been so lovely to see him.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34Yeah, it has been good. We often pretend to be on the radio,

0:17:34 > 0:17:35and this is Owen's mic.

0:17:35 > 0:17:39And you've still got your Radio 1 microphone, which I love.

0:17:40 > 0:17:44Josh's Den Day Out was a VIP tour of Radio 1.

0:17:44 > 0:17:45He got to meet some of the stars.

0:17:45 > 0:17:47Come and put your finger over it. Press it now.

0:17:47 > 0:17:50And had a crash course from his hero, Annie Mac.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53So this is called BPM, the beats per minute.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55We want to make this the same speed.

0:17:55 > 0:17:57Push that upwards slowly.

0:17:57 > 0:18:00There you go. One, two, three, four.

0:18:00 > 0:18:02One, two, three, four.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05Yeah. That's it.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08Josh loved his Den Day Out,

0:18:08 > 0:18:12and is putting Annie Mac's top tips to good use in his den.

0:18:12 > 0:18:14So while he gets down to some serious practice,

0:18:14 > 0:18:18I am off to find out how the den has become a part of the family from Mum

0:18:18 > 0:18:23and Dad. Tell me about when The Dengineers first arrived.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25We loved every minute of it, didn't we?

0:18:25 > 0:18:31To have the whole crew in the house, and everybody was so lovely.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34You feel part of the crew for a week, which is really nice.

0:18:34 > 0:18:36- Yes, definitely.- You kind of miss it when it goes, as well.

0:18:36 > 0:18:40And what difference has it made for you guys not to have Josh blasting

0:18:40 > 0:18:41his music out of his room?

0:18:41 > 0:18:44The space out there is amazing because we can't really hear

0:18:44 > 0:18:46the music in the house at all.

0:18:46 > 0:18:48And, until you walk out there and realise quite how loud it

0:18:48 > 0:18:52- is...- And there's 36 kids hiding out there as well.

0:18:52 > 0:18:55- What are you all doing in here? - It is like a proper disco out there.

0:18:55 > 0:18:57- It is amazing.- What do you think the experience of being on

0:18:57 > 0:18:59The Dengineers did for Josh?

0:18:59 > 0:19:03I think it has embedded the passion that he already had...

0:19:03 > 0:19:05He wanted to be a DJ,

0:19:05 > 0:19:07he has wanted to be a DJ for a couple of years,

0:19:07 > 0:19:09but sometimes you expect these things to drop off.

0:19:09 > 0:19:11This has just really put it more

0:19:11 > 0:19:15into his career path of really wanting to be a DJ.

0:19:15 > 0:19:19It is clear to see that DJing really is Josh's passion.

0:19:19 > 0:19:23All I've got to do now is persuade him to let me have a go.

0:19:23 > 0:19:26Lauren Layfield is stepping up to the decks.

0:19:26 > 0:19:28It's going to be fine, this. It's going to be fine. Here we go.

0:19:28 > 0:19:30Right...

0:19:30 > 0:19:31Yeah!

0:19:31 > 0:19:33Scratch that and stuff.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36Go back to the beginning. OK.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40Wait, I'm going to mix it with this bit in a minute.

0:19:45 > 0:19:46Oh!

0:19:46 > 0:19:49- Yes! Yes!- No, no, no.

0:19:49 > 0:19:52Maybe step aside now and let Josh do his thing, eh?

0:19:52 > 0:19:54People up in da house.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57Yeah, I'm going to use the words "da house".

0:19:57 > 0:20:00Are you ready to party? CHEERING

0:20:00 > 0:20:05Yeah! Please let me introduce DJ JJ Josh!

0:20:08 > 0:20:09Well done, Dad.

0:20:09 > 0:20:13It's great to see that dad dancing is still going strong in Cardiff.

0:20:13 > 0:20:17And I've no doubt that DJ JJ Josh will be hitting the airwaves

0:20:17 > 0:20:18in the future.

0:20:18 > 0:20:21And as for you, Layfield, probably not.

0:20:22 > 0:20:25OK, Dengineers boot camp skills.

0:20:25 > 0:20:27Let's have a little look, shall we?

0:20:27 > 0:20:29Cherry picker, that is a check.

0:20:29 > 0:20:32Diggers, yes, tick that there.

0:20:33 > 0:20:34Painting, yeah.

0:20:34 > 0:20:36Better do a bit of...

0:20:36 > 0:20:37Lauren!

0:20:37 > 0:20:39I've got a dump truck!

0:20:40 > 0:20:42Do you know, this is ridiculous.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45- It is amazing!- Anyway, den assembly, good, yes.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48Making tea, always a good skill to have.

0:20:48 > 0:20:50Drilling, good one.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52"Let me have a go. I've done two series. Let me have a go."

0:20:52 > 0:20:55- No.- Joe!- No fun for you.- Joe!

0:20:55 > 0:20:57Right, sorry, why am I doing all the hard work?

0:20:57 > 0:21:00Why is he having all the fun, eh?

0:21:00 > 0:21:01Joe!

0:21:01 > 0:21:02My turn.

0:21:04 > 0:21:06Meet movie-mad Lola.

0:21:06 > 0:21:10Last year, The Dengineers transformed an overgrown area of her

0:21:10 > 0:21:13garden and built the Hollywood cinema den of her dreams.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17I would really like the den because my mum is in a wheelchair so she

0:21:17 > 0:21:19- can't get up to my room.- Lola!

0:21:19 > 0:21:23So this den would mean a lot because we would have that special place to

0:21:23 > 0:21:24spend time together.

0:21:24 > 0:21:28Lola's mum only became a wheelchair user five years ago,

0:21:28 > 0:21:31so when we heard Lola needed a den to spend time with her mum,

0:21:31 > 0:21:34we couldn't wait to spring into action.

0:21:34 > 0:21:36We even filmed ourselves for the surprise.

0:21:36 > 0:21:40I'm Lauren and this is Mark, and we are from CBBC's The Dengineers.

0:21:40 > 0:21:44And we are here to tell you - yes, you, Lola -

0:21:44 > 0:21:47that you're going to be building your very own dream

0:21:47 > 0:21:50Hollywood cinema den.

0:21:50 > 0:21:55- Oh, my days.- Lola's reaction was one of my favourite ever.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57That was one mega-surprised face.

0:21:58 > 0:22:02Lola knew exactly what she wanted her den to look like,

0:22:02 > 0:22:06and her mood board was packed with ideas for a vintage Hollywood theme.

0:22:06 > 0:22:10And there was only one designer who could bring the right level of

0:22:10 > 0:22:12glamour to Lola's den - Morelle.

0:22:12 > 0:22:16If it says Lola's Cinema with like lots of lights around,

0:22:16 > 0:22:18- would that look good?- Yeah. That would look good.- Am I good to go?

0:22:18 > 0:22:23- Yeah.- Great.- Lola signed off the den design, so it was lights, camera,

0:22:23 > 0:22:26action as The Dengineers worked their socks off

0:22:26 > 0:22:27to get the build started.

0:22:27 > 0:22:30There were some unusual power tools...

0:22:30 > 0:22:32Yes!

0:22:32 > 0:22:35- Well done, Lauren.- Just like bread.

0:22:35 > 0:22:36..the occasional hiccup...

0:22:36 > 0:22:39We've got a bit of a problem because we can't find the piece of acrylic

0:22:39 > 0:22:42we need for the big retro sign that is going on top of the den.

0:22:42 > 0:22:44..and time was against us.

0:22:44 > 0:22:47There is a lot to paint, a lot more than I thought.

0:22:47 > 0:22:49You know, the pressure is on.

0:22:49 > 0:22:50But, as always,

0:22:50 > 0:22:54The Dengineers delivered the den just in time for Lola's friends and

0:22:54 > 0:22:56family to arrive for the big reveal.

0:22:56 > 0:23:03- ALL:- Five, four, three, two, one!

0:23:03 > 0:23:04Oh...

0:23:06 > 0:23:09Oh, look - "Lola's Cinema".

0:23:09 > 0:23:11There were even happy tears.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13I'm not upset, I'm happy to see your reaction.

0:23:17 > 0:23:20Lola wanted a den where her and her mum could hang out together and

0:23:20 > 0:23:24watch films, so I've come back to get the lowdown on whether having

0:23:24 > 0:23:26her den has made all her dreams come true.

0:23:26 > 0:23:29It is Hollywood cinema den take two.

0:23:30 > 0:23:31This looks incredible!

0:23:34 > 0:23:35Oh, hello!

0:23:37 > 0:23:40How are you? Guys, it is so good to see you.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43I always say, everywhere that I go, people always,

0:23:43 > 0:23:45always mention the cinema den.

0:23:45 > 0:23:47There are a lot of jealous people out there.

0:23:47 > 0:23:48How have you been using it?

0:23:48 > 0:23:52We've been doing a few shows and some sleepovers.

0:23:52 > 0:23:54Movie nights.

0:23:54 > 0:23:56And what about the box office as well?

0:23:56 > 0:23:58Have you been making people queue up for their tickets?

0:23:58 > 0:24:01Yeah. When we had a few of the movie nights,

0:24:01 > 0:24:02we made them buy the tickets.

0:24:02 > 0:24:06Brilliant. And obviously this place wasn't just for watching films,

0:24:06 > 0:24:09this was somewhere which was really important to you so you could

0:24:09 > 0:24:10hang out with Mum.

0:24:10 > 0:24:13- So how has it changed for you?- So it has, like, made it so we can come

0:24:13 > 0:24:14out here and we can be together.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17It means, like, we can spend more time together,

0:24:17 > 0:24:20rather than, like, being in two separate areas.

0:24:20 > 0:24:23It also means Lola can escape her messy bedroom.

0:24:24 > 0:24:27So what about plans for the den in the future?

0:24:27 > 0:24:29Actually, tonight, after school,

0:24:29 > 0:24:32I've got a few friends coming round to have a movie night.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34- What, a movie night tonight?- Yeah.

0:24:34 > 0:24:37Well, in that case, we need to make a poster,

0:24:37 > 0:24:39we need to choose some snacks out.

0:24:39 > 0:24:41We need to pick a film. Let's get going, everybody.

0:24:41 > 0:24:45Give me the microphone. Let's go, people. Let's go, go, go.

0:24:45 > 0:24:46Calm down, Lozzer -

0:24:46 > 0:24:49you're a Dengineer. You love a challenge.

0:24:49 > 0:24:52I know, Joe, but I'm feeling the pressure because this is

0:24:52 > 0:24:54a special movie night,

0:24:54 > 0:24:57as Lola is raising money for a charity that helped her mum.

0:24:57 > 0:25:02There's lots to organise - flyers, a poster and, most importantly,

0:25:02 > 0:25:03snacks.

0:25:03 > 0:25:04How many people are coming?

0:25:04 > 0:25:06Around 13.

0:25:06 > 0:25:09OK, so we're going to need a shed load of popcorn, aren't we?

0:25:09 > 0:25:10Yeah.

0:25:12 > 0:25:14It's popping already. It is so quick.

0:25:15 > 0:25:18What was it like when The Dengineers were in your house?

0:25:18 > 0:25:24I was just shocked and quite nervous at the start, cos when I met

0:25:24 > 0:25:25everybody, I didn't necessarily know them.

0:25:25 > 0:25:31But it helped me boost my confidence because I was talking to, like,

0:25:31 > 0:25:33new people and doing new things.

0:25:33 > 0:25:37What was your favourite bit when you were helping to make the den?

0:25:37 > 0:25:39I liked doing the upcycle.

0:25:39 > 0:25:42So making the stage.

0:25:42 > 0:25:43Yeah!

0:25:43 > 0:25:49That is tonnes for tonight. I think it looks delicious.

0:25:49 > 0:25:51I did it! I did it!

0:25:51 > 0:25:54Nice one. Maybe that'll keep you quiet for a bit.

0:25:54 > 0:25:55Oi!

0:25:55 > 0:25:57Anyway, while Lola puts out the snacks,

0:25:57 > 0:26:01I'm off to help Mum sort out the fairy lights and find out more about

0:26:01 > 0:26:03Lola's charity movie night.

0:26:03 > 0:26:06Can you tell us a little bit more about the charity she's actually

0:26:06 > 0:26:09- raising money for? - They're a special charity designed

0:26:09 > 0:26:11for people with spinal cord injuries.

0:26:11 > 0:26:15They teach wheelchair skills classes.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17So how to wheel up hills,
