0:01:40 > 0:01:42- Hello, I'm Grace.- And I'm Jake.

0:01:42 > 0:01:47- Today we're going to be wildlife keepers.- BOTH:- Let's go!

0:01:47 > 0:01:51A wildlife keeper is someone who looks after animals

0:01:51 > 0:01:53in a wildlife park or zoo.

0:01:53 > 0:01:58This is Lauren. She helps look after one really special animal.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Can you guess what they are? They have really long necks.

0:02:01 > 0:02:06- Is it a giraffe?- Giraffe.- It is a giraffe. I've got a treat for you.

0:02:06 > 0:02:12You're going to help pick up giraffe poo today. Here's your spades.

0:02:12 > 0:02:16- What do you think it smells like in here?- Stinky but it's all right.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20That's nice. A lot of people think it's really smelly.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22- Shall we pick up some poo? BOTH:- Yeah.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24Wonderful. Come this way.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31This one's for you, Grace.

0:02:31 > 0:02:35It's hard work but it's really good fun.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39- 'There's so much poo!' - This is fun!

0:02:41 > 0:02:47- Shall we put some nice fresh straw on their bed now?- Yeah.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50- Is it nice and squishy?- Yeah. It's like a bouncy castle.

0:02:50 > 0:02:55So it's nice and comfy for them to sleep on. They're heavy animals.

0:02:55 > 0:03:00- Shall we go and do something else? BOTH:- Yeah.- Wonderful. Let's go!

0:03:06 > 0:03:09- Do you know what these are? - Stinging nettles.

0:03:09 > 0:03:10They are. They love them.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12Won't they sting the giraffes?

0:03:12 > 0:03:15No, the skin inside a giraffe's mouth is tough.

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Why do you put the nettles in metal balls?

0:03:18 > 0:03:21In captivity, they don't work as hard for their food.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24We put the nettles inside the balls and they have to

0:03:24 > 0:03:28get the nettles out with their tongues through the gaps.

0:03:28 > 0:03:32It makes them use their tongue like they're supposed to. It's a treat.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36- Shall we get them something bigger to eat?- Yeah.

0:03:39 > 0:03:45We're at the plantation, where we get our fresh leaves for giraffes.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47What type of trees do giraffes eat?

0:03:47 > 0:03:51We're getting silver birch and willow, two of their favourites.

0:03:51 > 0:03:55If I cut down trees, will you help me load them onto the vehicle?

0:03:55 > 0:03:58- BOTH:- Yeah.- Let's go!

0:03:59 > 0:04:02We're cutting a willow tree for them now. A favourite.

0:04:02 > 0:04:08- Those leaves look tasty for the giraffes don't they, Grace?- Yeah.

0:04:11 > 0:04:15- Now that's done, it's time to eat. - I'm not hungry.

0:04:15 > 0:04:19It's not for you, Grace, it's for the giraffes.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27Lauren hung up the nettle balls.

0:04:35 > 0:04:37It's amazing!

0:04:37 > 0:04:41We're holding the branch for the giraffe to eat.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44He's so strong! Oh!

0:04:44 > 0:04:48THEY LAUGH

0:04:48 > 0:04:49There we go!

0:04:50 > 0:04:54- Can you see their tongues? - They're really long and wiggly.

0:04:54 > 0:04:58- Can you see what colour their tongue is?- Blue.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02It's thought to be to protect the tongue against sunburn.

0:05:02 > 0:05:06It's hot in the African savanna so they have a blue tongue.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08Giraffe. Giraffey!

0:05:08 > 0:05:10Hey!

0:05:10 > 0:05:14Have you both enjoyed your day as a zoo keeper at the wildlife park?

0:05:14 > 0:05:17- Yeah.- What's your favourite part?

0:05:17 > 0:05:19I really enjoyed feeding the giraffes.

0:05:19 > 0:05:24- Feeding the giraffe is much more fun than picking up their poo.- Yeah.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30Great work, Jake and Grace. Not an easy job.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33The giraffes seem happy with you so well done.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36Now, from the really tall to the very, very small.

0:06:36 > 0:06:40That's why - pigs have an excellent sense of smell.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43They use their noses to smell food that's on the ground.

0:06:47 > 0:06:51- Snout.- Snout.- Absolutely. - Well done.- What do they eat?

0:06:51 > 0:06:53The piglets drink milk from their mum.

0:09:52 > 0:09:57Lolulu and me are going to ride a camel today.

0:09:59 > 0:10:03We're riding to a river that's very far away.

0:10:03 > 0:10:09We need to cross it cos on the other side, there's food for the camels.

0:10:09 > 0:10:14We have to fasten the saddle tightly so we don't fall down.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21Oh, dear! I'm afraid!

0:10:21 > 0:10:24I've never ridden a camel before.

0:10:24 > 0:10:27It's really high.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36Look how dry everything is.

0:10:36 > 0:10:40We need to go further and further to find green plants.

0:10:48 > 0:10:53The sun is so hot. I hope we'll be there soon.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56We're lucky because we can ride.

0:10:56 > 0:11:00We could never have walked this far.

0:11:03 > 0:11:06I'll never walk again, I'll only ride.

0:11:10 > 0:11:14We finally reach the river. Now we have to cross it.

0:11:22 > 0:11:26Now, we go to the river with the camels.

0:11:33 > 0:11:40- First of all, camels should quench their thirst.- It does them good.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44And on the other side of the river, there's some good food for them.

0:11:48 > 0:11:53We're lucky the water isn't deep. Camels are afraid of water.

0:11:53 > 0:11:56And I hope none of them run away.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03- But we like water.- Yes, it works!

0:12:03 > 0:12:07All the camels are able to cross the river.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10We did a good job looking after them.

0:12:10 > 0:12:13And none of the camels ran away.

0:12:13 > 0:12:16And on the other side, they'll find enough to eat.

0:12:25 > 0:12:27Great work, Let's Go-ers!

0:12:27 > 0:12:31Your camels must be really thirsty after all that hard work

0:12:31 > 0:12:35but I've got an excellent experiment to keep them cool.

0:12:35 > 0:12:38It's rainbow rain clouds.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41To do this excellent experiment,

0:12:41 > 0:12:44mix a little bit of food colouring with water.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53It's fun to use different colours,

0:12:53 > 0:12:56but food colouring can stain so I'm wearing an apron

0:12:56 > 0:12:58but you could wear some old clothes.

0:12:58 > 0:13:01Fill a large clear container with water...

0:13:03 > 0:13:06..almost all the way to the top.

0:13:08 > 0:13:13Add a good amount of shaving cream on top of the water.

0:13:14 > 0:13:18And this is going to make your clouds.

0:13:24 > 0:13:29Put a little bit of the coloured water on top of the clouds.

0:13:35 > 0:13:37And watch it rain!

0:13:38 > 0:13:42What an excellent experiment! Why don't you have a go?

0:13:42 > 0:13:45And send us a video or photo of your clouds raining.

0:13:45 > 0:13:49Now, green-fingered Megan and her friends got in touch cos

0:14:11 > 0:14:13We filled it with bamboo sticks.

0:14:13 > 0:14:16If you like animals, here's something you can do.

0:14:16 > 0:14:21- We're making a hedgehog house. - Let's make it!

0:14:21 > 0:14:25We had help cutting out a door in the basket.

0:14:25 > 0:14:28Which is normally used for hanging flowers.

0:14:28 > 0:14:33- It's made of coconut shells.- And here's the door for the hedgehogs!

0:14:33 > 0:14:36We put this metal frame on to make it stronger.

0:14:36 > 0:14:41This straw will make a nice cosy bed for the hedgehogs.

0:14:41 > 0:14:45And we're making tasty treats for the birds too.

0:14:45 > 0:14:48These are made from lard and birdseed.

0:14:50 > 0:14:53And we made them into star shapes!

0:14:53 > 0:14:57It's time to take everything to the allotment.

0:14:57 > 0:15:01We have to put a bag on top of the house

0:15:01 > 0:15:04so it doesn't get wet.

0:15:04 > 0:15:08And we put heavy things on it, so it doesn't fly away.

0:15:10 > 0:15:15And we put grass on it to make the hedgehogs feel at home.

0:15:15 > 0:15:18We put the straw bed down for the hedgehogs too.

0:15:18 > 0:15:22Now, our hedgehog house is open for business!

0:15:22 > 0:15:26Daisy and Luke put up the bird treats.
