0:01:28 > 0:01:33# We've got a lot of things going on at the Let's Go Club. #

0:01:33 > 0:01:34Let's go!

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Hi, I'm Rio. And I'm Faith.

0:01:40 > 0:01:44Today, we're going land yachting. BOTH: Let's go!

0:01:44 > 0:01:49Land yachting is a sport where you race in a yacht.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52But the big difference is you're on the beach

0:01:52 > 0:01:54but not in the sea.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55This is Graham.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57He is an expert at land yachting

0:01:57 > 0:01:59so we're in really safe hands.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Hi. I see you've already got your suits on ready.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Are you excited to go land yachting? Yeah. Yeah! Cool!

0:02:05 > 0:02:08These suits are in case you roll out of the yacht

0:02:08 > 0:02:11then it doesn't hurt when you hit the sand.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13We also need to wear a helmet.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16That keeps your head safe. Is that OK? Yeah. Yeah.

0:02:16 > 0:02:17Brilliant.

0:02:17 > 0:02:21To keep us safe, you always need to wear gloves and goggles

0:02:21 > 0:02:22when we're in a land yacht.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25Got all the gear on? Time to get in the land yacht.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28What do we think? BOTH: Yeah. Let's go.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Graham, does the wheel at the front help steer the yacht?

0:02:37 > 0:02:40It does. Unlike a boat or a bike that we have to

0:02:40 > 0:02:43steer with our hands, we steer with our feet.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47This is the sail to help catch the wind to make the yacht go.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51This rope is called the sheet.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54It helps pull the sail in and out

0:02:54 > 0:02:58which makes the yacht go slower and faster.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01OK, now we know what each part of the yacht does,

0:03:01 > 0:03:03let's learn how to steer and stop safely, OK?

0:03:03 > 0:03:04BOTH: Yeah.

0:03:07 > 0:03:09This is so much fun!

0:03:09 > 0:03:12It's so fun being in a yacht but not being in the water.

0:03:12 > 0:03:13Go!

0:03:13 > 0:03:16It's really tricky to turn the yacht when you start.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19Turn, turn, turn, turn, turn. Good girl.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21With a little practice, it gets easier.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23Yeah!

0:03:23 > 0:03:26When you turn into the wind, like this, it's called tacking.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Nice!

0:03:28 > 0:03:30This makes the yacht go slower.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33When you turn the yacht so the wind is behind you,

0:03:33 > 0:03:36and you go faster, it's called a gybe.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37Yeah, drifting action.

0:03:40 > 0:03:44Brilliant. Well done. I think you're ready to go around our course.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47Rio, you and Faith will both go round our track and

0:03:47 > 0:03:51we'll see who can do it quickest. Are you ready to do that? Yeah!

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Three, two, one. Go!

0:03:58 > 0:04:02I love land yachting. It's so fun being on a yacht.

0:04:02 > 0:04:03But I'm not in any water.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05You're doing really well!

0:04:05 > 0:04:08Look how fast Faith's going.

0:04:08 > 0:04:09Good girl. Excellent.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11Well done, Faith!

0:04:11 > 0:04:13Time. You've finished, Faith.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Come on, Rio.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21Rio's going really fast.

0:04:21 > 0:04:22Around the cone.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25That's it - nice, tight turn.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27Well done, Rio.

0:04:27 > 0:04:31OK, Rio. Nearly at the end. Ready, two, one, time.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36Both brilliant land yachters today

0:04:36 > 0:04:39but Rio, you were just that little bit quicker.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43Fantastic, well done. Faith, give him his medal. Well done, Rio.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45What was your favourite part?

0:04:45 > 0:04:47Skidding round the corners.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51What about you, Faith? I really enjoyed practising.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54OK, who's up for another spin in the land yachts?

0:04:54 > 0:04:55BOTH: Yeah! Let's go.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03Oh, that looked amazing. Racing around on land yachts.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06I want a go and speaking of racing, I'm going

0:05:06 > 0:05:10to show you how to make a fantastic soap boat racer.

0:05:10 > 0:05:14For this, you will need a tray or a baking tray filled with

0:05:14 > 0:05:18a smidge of water, some scissors, A piece of paper, a cotton bud

0:05:18 > 0:05:20and some washing up liquid.

0:05:20 > 0:05:25So the first thing we do is take our piece of paper and fold it in half.

0:05:27 > 0:05:28Just like that.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31Now I'm going to cut out a boat shape.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37Just like that. And then we place it on the water.

0:05:40 > 0:05:47Now, we take our cotton bud and we dip it into the washing up liquid.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50Now watch what happens!

0:05:54 > 0:05:57Another excellent experiment done.

0:05:57 > 0:05:58But to have a proper race,

0:05:58 > 0:06:03I'm going to need some friends to race with. Come on, Let's Goers.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06Right, I've got a question for you. Are you ready to race?

0:06:06 > 0:06:08Yes. Yes.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11Fantastic. I see you've got your paper boats

0:06:11 > 0:06:13so let's place them on the water here.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16Nice and gently. That's it, Carter, lovely.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19OK, so the boat to go the furthest wins

0:06:19 > 0:06:23so I'm going to dip my cotton bud in here.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25Are we ready?

0:06:25 > 0:06:26Are we steady?

0:06:26 > 0:06:27Yes.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29Let's go.

0:06:30 > 0:06:34Oh, my goodness. I think that was a draw, don't you?

0:06:34 > 0:06:36Yes. I thought it was going to be a draw.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38Well done, guys. That was amazing.

0:06:38 > 0:06:42A truly excellent experiment. And you can join in too.

0:06:42 > 0:06:45Don't forget to send us your photos and videos.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47Grab a grown-up, head to the CBeebies website

0:06:47 > 0:06:52and click on the Let's Go Club. Right, that's enough experimenting.

0:06:52 > 0:06:56Let's find out some traveltastic facts.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59# The Let's Go Club. # Let's go!

0:06:59 > 0:07:03First up, today's stars and stripes design of the American flag

0:07:03 > 0:07:08was drawn up by a 17-year-old schoolboy called Robert G Heft

0:07:08 > 0:07:11But he was only given a B- for it.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15Robert's teacher said if he got the important people

0:07:15 > 0:07:18of the United States government to like the flag,

0:07:18 > 0:07:22he'd give him a better grade. So Robert did.

0:07:22 > 0:07:26And his flag, known as the Star Spangled Banner, is now 60 years old

0:07:26 > 0:07:30and has been flown on important buildings all over the world.

0:07:30 > 0:07:33We'd definitely give him an A star.

0:07:33 > 0:07:37Next, the Spanish national anthem the Marcha Real,

0:07:37 > 0:07:39has absolutely no words

0:07:39 > 0:07:43and was composed way back in 1761

0:07:43 > 0:07:45before electricity was invented.

0:07:45 > 0:07:49Lots of songwriters have tried to give Marcha Real words

0:07:49 > 0:07:50but none have stuck.

0:07:50 > 0:07:54Lyrics were written for the anthem in a competition

0:07:54 > 0:07:57before the Beijing Olympics but, after only five days,

0:07:57 > 0:08:01it was decided that the anthem should stay lyricless.

0:08:01 > 0:08:04Oh, well, at least you'll never forget the words!

0:08:04 > 0:08:09And finally, can you guess what Scotland's national animal is?

0:08:09 > 0:08:12It's not a stag or a Highland cow.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14Not even the Loch Ness Monster.

0:08:14 > 0:08:16It's a unicorn.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19700 years ago, King Robert of Scotland liked magical

0:08:19 > 0:08:24unicorn stories so much, he picked the animal for his country.

0:08:24 > 0:08:27Unicorns have been seen on Scottish money ever since

0:08:27 > 0:08:30and are still used in royal symbols today.

0:08:30 > 0:08:35Not bad for a rainbow-loving animal that isn't real! Fact.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38# The Let's Go club. # Let's go!

0:08:38 > 0:08:43There you go, the world is full of so many different countries.

0:08:43 > 0:08:46Do any of you know anyone from a different country?

0:08:46 > 0:08:50I've got my little friend Elsie here who has a pen pal in Hong Kong.

0:08:50 > 0:08:51Is that right? Yeah.

0:08:51 > 0:08:55Elsie, you've got to tell me - what is a pen pal?

0:08:55 > 0:08:59It's somebody that you send letters to across the world

0:08:59 > 0:09:02and my pen pal's called Laura. That is amazing.

0:09:02 > 0:09:05You've got so many little bits and pieces on this wall.

0:09:05 > 0:09:07Can you tell me a little about them?

0:09:07 > 0:09:11That's Laura and that's Jason, her brother.

0:09:11 > 0:09:14And then her mummy made me a puppet.

0:09:14 > 0:09:16Wow! That is so nice.

0:09:16 > 0:09:18And it has two sides.

0:09:18 > 0:09:21You've also got a letter here that you're ready to send

0:09:21 > 0:09:25to Laura, haven't you? Yeah. Do want to read it out to us

0:09:25 > 0:09:27so we know what you're going to say?

0:09:27 > 0:09:30"Dear Laura, I am going on the Let's Go Club.

0:09:30 > 0:09:33"I might get a wristband. That might be cool.

0:09:33 > 0:09:37"How are you? Love from..." Now I'm going to sign my name.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40You're going to sign your name? Of course.

0:09:40 > 0:09:43You've got to finish it with your name, don't you?

0:09:43 > 0:09:45Do you know what, Elsie?

0:09:45 > 0:09:48How's about we send Laura a Let's Go Club wristband? Yeah.

0:09:48 > 0:09:52Let's get the wristband in the letter put them in an envelope

0:09:52 > 0:09:54ready to send to Laura.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Fantastic. Ready to go.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01I've got a little bit of a surprise for you, too.

0:10:01 > 0:10:06Because we have a special message from your friend Laura in Hong Kong.

0:10:06 > 0:10:10Do you want to see it? Come on, then.

0:10:10 > 0:10:12Hello, Let's Go Club.

0:10:12 > 0:10:15Hello, Elsie. It's Laura from Hong Kong.

0:10:15 > 0:10:18I can't wait to get your letter in the post. Bye!

0:10:18 > 0:10:21What do you think about that? Good.

0:10:21 > 0:10:23That is so cool, isn't it? Yeah.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04Geocaching is like a treasure hunt.

0:11:04 > 0:11:07Instead of a map, you use this

0:11:07 > 0:11:10to help find the treasure.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12It's a GPS gadget.

0:11:12 > 0:11:16It can tell you exactly where you are to the nearest step.

0:11:16 > 0:11:21My mum is helping me to look on the geocaching website to find

0:11:21 > 0:11:24the area to search for some caches.

0:11:24 > 0:11:28When we are geocaching, we call the treasure caches.

0:11:28 > 0:11:30Shall we go there? Yes.

0:12:00 > 0:12:06The GPS gadget tells us where to go to look for the caches.

0:12:06 > 0:12:07This way.

0:12:07 > 0:12:10It's fun to go geocaching with a friend.

0:12:13 > 0:12:19We have to walk towards the place marked by the icon.

0:12:19 > 0:12:24When I think we're close, I stop looking at the GPS gadget

0:12:24 > 0:12:28and I use my eyes and hands to hunt the treasure.

0:12:31 > 0:12:39When we find a geocache, we write our name on the logbook

0:12:39 > 0:12:42so people know that we've found it.

0:12:46 > 0:12:50Ooh, we found it. I just opened it.

0:12:52 > 0:12:53Here you go, boys.
