0:00:04 > 0:00:08Expect making, exploring, super-sizing, dancing,

0:00:08 > 0:00:10fact-finding and laughing.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11We've only got a few minutes,

0:00:11 > 0:00:14so get ready for some more fun from the Let's Go Club.

0:00:16 > 0:00:20Fact fans, today we're finding out all about transport.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22Buses moving,

0:00:22 > 0:00:26ships cruising, chuffing trains,

0:00:26 > 0:00:29jumbo planes, walk to places,

0:00:29 > 0:00:35speedy skaters, helicopters hovering and motorcars motoring.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38Strap yourself in and let's get to those facts.

0:00:39 > 0:00:44First up, traffic lights were used before cars were even invented.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Let's shed more LIGHT on this.

0:00:46 > 0:00:50The first traffic light was used outside the Houses of Parliament in

0:00:50 > 0:00:55London to tell horse-drawn carriages when to stop and when to go.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57The only problem was that the light was powered by gas and

0:00:57 > 0:01:01eventually it exploded!

0:01:01 > 0:01:05Wow! That fact just BLEW my mind.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08Next, there's a type of mosquito that lives in the London

0:01:08 > 0:01:13Underground. I think we need to dig deeper.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16The mosquitoes have set up home in the busy train tunnels,

0:01:16 > 0:01:19because they like the warm and damp conditions underground.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22But mosquitoes aren't the only animals that call the Tube

0:01:22 > 0:01:24home sweet home.

0:01:24 > 0:01:29Mice, foxes and even tortoises are all deep down neighbours.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33It's hard to keep track of all those animals.

0:01:33 > 0:01:38All aboard! Next stop, fact number three.

0:01:38 > 0:01:42The first explorers to travel by hot-air balloon were a sheep,

0:01:42 > 0:01:47a cockerel and a duck. No, I'm not quackers.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49This brave bunch went up, up and away in

0:01:49 > 0:01:54a balloon test flight that lasted ten minutes.

0:01:54 > 0:01:57A duck was chosen, because it was used to flying high,

0:01:57 > 0:02:00a cockerel, because it couldn't fly away and

0:02:00 > 0:02:03a sheep, because it was the most like a person.

0:02:03 > 0:02:07Now that's un-baa-lievable!

0:02:07 > 0:02:11And finally there was once a traffic jam

0:02:11 > 0:02:15so long that people were stuck in it for 12 days.

0:02:15 > 0:02:19Now, that's a hold-up you'd want to steer clear of.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23This bumper-to-bumper gridlock happened in China, because there

0:02:23 > 0:02:26were too many roadworks and lots of cars and lorries breaking down.

0:02:26 > 0:02:30People who lived nearby helped the stranded drivers by selling

0:02:30 > 0:02:34them food and drinks. A do-it-yourself drive-through.

0:02:34 > 0:02:38I wonder if they sold traffic jam sandwiches? Fact.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43You can join the Let's Go Club too.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Grab a grown-up and head to the CBeebies website.

0:02:46 > 0:02:52There are songs to sing, things to make and do, and CBeebies Radio too.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55Remember, we're the club that never closes.
