0:00:24 > 0:00:26Surfers with tricks

0:00:26 > 0:00:28A scary shark fin

0:00:28 > 0:00:30Dare you dip your toes in?

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Swirling waves on rocks crashing

0:00:33 > 0:00:37Lighthouses that stop boats smashing

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Water-blowing whales

0:00:39 > 0:00:41And ships with windy sails.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43Let's dive into those facts.

0:00:44 > 0:00:49First up, there is twice as much ocean on Earth as dry land.

0:00:49 > 0:00:51That sure is a lot of seaside.

0:00:51 > 0:00:55The seas and oceans cover so much of the planet that from way out

0:00:55 > 0:00:58in space the Earth looks like a big blue marble.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00All that water means a lot of sailing,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03and on old maps of the oceans,

0:01:03 > 0:01:07sea monsters were drawn to show places that hadn't been explored.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10You wouldn't want to bump into them during a seaside paddle!

0:01:10 > 0:01:14Next, a blue whale's tongue is as big as an elephant.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Who would have TRUNK it?

0:01:17 > 0:01:22Blue whales are the largest animals ever to have lived on our planet.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26They might have a giant tongue, but whales don't have any teeth,

0:01:26 > 0:01:28and they eat the tiniest of sea creatures -

0:01:28 > 0:01:30little critters called krill.

0:01:30 > 0:01:35When it comes to being a bigmouth, the blue whale has got it licked!

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Next, some oceans are heavier than others.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42I'll take that with a pinch of salt!

0:01:42 > 0:01:46All seawater has salt in it that has washed into the ocean

0:01:46 > 0:01:48from rocks on land.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50But some oceans have more salt than others,

0:01:50 > 0:01:54and the saltier the water, the more it weighs.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58What's super about salt is the more that's in the sea,

0:01:58 > 0:02:00the easier it is to float in,

0:02:00 > 0:02:04and that should really float your boat.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07And finally, in the deep, dark ocean

0:02:07 > 0:02:09there are fish that make their own light.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11Sounds a bit fishy to me.

0:02:11 > 0:02:15These fantastic bright sparks have a special part of their body

0:02:15 > 0:02:17that glows and shines.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19The light makes it easier for the fish to catch food,

0:02:19 > 0:02:24hook up with their friends, or scare off other sea creatures.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27Some shimmery swimmers can even flash their lights on and off.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31Anyone for a dance at the underwater disco? Fact!

0:02:32 > 0:02:34You can join The Let's Go Club too.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Just grab a grown-up and head to the CBeebies website.

0:02:37 > 0:02:41There are songs to sing along to, things to make and do,

0:02:41 > 0:02:42and CBeebies Radio too!

0:02:42 > 0:02:45Remember, we're the club that never closes.
