0:08:41 > 0:08:45- Oh, yum!- Mmm. - What have you got there, Paul?

0:08:45 > 0:08:50- Ah, well, this is something else you can eat.- I've never eaten THAT!

0:08:50 > 0:08:53Oh, I think you have! You see, this is a bunch of wheat,

0:08:53 > 0:08:58and wheat is used to make all kinds of things, like bread and cake.

0:08:58 > 0:09:00- Ooh...!- Have a look.

0:09:00 > 0:09:04This part of the wheat is called the ear.

0:09:04 > 0:09:08And the ear's made up of lots of different husks.

0:09:08 > 0:09:12Those are all these bits you see. And inside those husks

0:09:12 > 0:09:16- are the grains of wheat.- Ah!- I've got a bowl full of grains of wheat.

0:09:16 > 0:09:19- Oh, they're tiny, aren't they? - They ARE tiny.

0:09:19 > 0:09:23When the farmer has harvested lots and lots of grains of wheat,

0:09:23 > 0:09:27he'll take them away, and they're all ground down like this

0:09:27 > 0:09:29to make...

0:09:29 > 0:09:32this! Do you know what that is?

0:09:32 > 0:09:38- It's flour!- Flour!- Yes!- Ah!- Flour is used to make bread and cakes

0:09:38 > 0:09:42- and pastries and lots of yummy things.- Oh, I see.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44- TINKLING - A-ha!

0:09:44 > 0:09:49Now, we're gonna see lots of grains through one of the windows today.

0:09:49 > 0:09:52So let's have a look! How many windows?

0:09:52 > 0:09:55One, two, three!

0:09:55 > 0:09:58Round, square or arched -

0:09:58 > 0:10:00which one will it be?

0:10:00 > 0:10:03It's the arched window!

0:10:06 > 0:10:08Lots of wheat.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14But wait a minute - what's that?

0:10:18 > 0:10:21It's a combine harvester.

0:10:24 > 0:10:29Farmer Dave uses it to cut and collect all the wheat on his farm.

0:10:35 > 0:10:39The big red roller gathers the wheat into the harvester,

0:10:39 > 0:10:43which cuts it with very sharp blades.

0:10:43 > 0:10:47The wheat is then split into grain,

0:10:47 > 0:10:50and the bits we DON'T need are blown out of the back.

0:10:50 > 0:10:54These bits are called straw and chaff.

0:10:54 > 0:10:56It's very dusty!

0:10:56 > 0:11:00When the combine harvester is full of grain, a flashing light goes on,

0:11:00 > 0:11:04and Farmer Dave can empty the grain into a truck.

0:11:08 > 0:11:12A big pipe comes out to pour the grain into the truck.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22There's lots and lots of grain.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26Once the combine is empty,

0:11:26 > 0:11:29he's ready to start harvesting again.

0:11:43 > 0:11:47It takes a very long time to harvest a whole field.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59Farmer Dave is moving into the next field now,

0:11:59 > 0:12:02to empty the harvester again.

0:12:33 > 0:12:35Look at all that lovely grain!

0:12:38 > 0:12:40When the truck is full,

0:12:40 > 0:12:44Farmer Ryan drives it back to the farm to empty it.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51He uses his tractor to push the truck into a barn.

0:12:59 > 0:13:03But before he can do anything else, he has to put on a mask,

0:13:03 > 0:13:06because it's still very dusty.

0:13:06 > 0:13:10He opens the truck and pours the grain into a machine

0:13:10 > 0:13:12called a thrower.

0:13:12 > 0:13:15This throws the grain into a pile in the barn.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Can you see all the grain moving?

0:13:28 > 0:13:31Look! It's like a grain rainbow!

0:13:38 > 0:13:42Well, grain is used to make all kinds of foods

0:13:42 > 0:13:46and breads and pastries.

0:13:46 > 0:13:49We've got lots of different kinds of breads here.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52Look at these lovely cakes! Mmm!

0:13:52 > 0:13:56And grain is also used to feed animals.

0:13:56 > 0:13:58- GENTLE CHIMING - A-ha!

0:13:58 > 0:14:00Tikkabilla, tokkabilla,

0:14:00 > 0:14:02Tikkabilla, tock.

0:14:02 > 0:14:06What's the time on the Tikkabilla clock?

0:14:10 > 0:14:15Well, the long hand is pointing straight down to the number 6.

0:14:15 > 0:14:19So that means that it's a half past something.

0:14:19 > 0:14:23And the short hand is halfway past the number 9,

0:14:23 > 0:14:28so the time today on the Tikkabilla clock is half past nine.

0:14:28 > 0:14:31And what's below the clock?

0:14:33 > 0:14:35Some farmyard animals!

0:14:40 > 0:14:42Well, today's story is called...

0:14:42 > 0:14:45Baa! Moo! What Will We Do?

0:14:49 > 0:14:53Something special was happening on Buttercup Farm.

0:14:54 > 0:14:59The farmer had brought a kangaroo back with him from Australia.

0:14:59 > 0:15:01It was arriving that very day.

0:15:01 > 0:15:05All the animals gathered in the farmyard to talk about it.

0:15:05 > 0:15:07They'd never seen a kangaroo before.

0:15:07 > 0:15:11"What can a kangaroo do anyway?" they asked.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14But nobody knew.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17"What if she can crow?" asked Rooster.

0:15:17 > 0:15:20"What if she gets up very early

0:15:20 > 0:15:22"and crows so loudly

0:15:22 > 0:15:24"that she wakes the whole farm?

0:15:24 > 0:15:29"Perhaps she will count the hens and chicks to see if any are missing.

0:15:29 > 0:15:34"The farmer won't need me any more - I will have to look for a new job!

0:15:34 > 0:15:39"Cock-a-doodle-doo! Perhaps I won't even find one!"

0:15:39 > 0:15:42"How dreadful!" said everyone.

0:15:43 > 0:15:47"What if she can herd sheep?" said Dog.

0:15:47 > 0:15:50"What if she rounds them all up

0:15:50 > 0:15:54"and takes them to graze on the highest and greenest hills?

0:15:54 > 0:15:56"She might even chase a fox or two.

0:15:56 > 0:16:00"The farmer will be so pleased with her,

0:16:00 > 0:16:04"that he'll send me off to live in kennels. Bow-wow! I'd hate that!"

0:16:04 > 0:16:07"How horrible!" said everyone.

0:16:11 > 0:16:14"What if she can catch mice?" said Cat.

0:16:14 > 0:16:18"What if she catches all the mice in the barn and a few rats too?

0:16:18 > 0:16:22"Maybe even the spiders would be scared to live there.

0:16:22 > 0:16:27"Then the farmer would get rid of me, and I would become a stray,

0:16:27 > 0:16:31"foraging for food in dustbins. Miaow!

0:16:31 > 0:16:33"I'd miss my milk and sardines!"

0:16:33 > 0:16:36"How awful!" said everyone.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42"What if she can give milk?" said Cow.

0:16:42 > 0:16:46"What if she fills up all the churns in the farm

0:16:46 > 0:16:48"with such rich, creamy milk

0:16:48 > 0:16:51"that people will rush to buy it?

0:16:51 > 0:16:53"Then nobody would want mine,

0:16:53 > 0:16:57"and the farmer would make me pull the heavy plough instead.

0:16:57 > 0:17:01"Moo! I couldn't stand that!"

0:17:01 > 0:17:04"How shocking!" said everyone.

0:17:05 > 0:17:08"What if she can grow wool?" said Sheep.

0:17:08 > 0:17:13"What if she has a thick, woolly fleece, whiter than snow

0:17:13 > 0:17:15"and softer than silk?

0:17:15 > 0:17:19"And maybe her coat will grow twice as fast as mine!

0:17:19 > 0:17:24"The farmer would be so delighted, that my wool would only be used

0:17:24 > 0:17:27"to stuff old pillows and cushions.

0:17:27 > 0:17:32"Baa! I wouldn't let them come near me with their shears!"

0:17:32 > 0:17:35"How terrible!" said everyone.

0:17:37 > 0:17:40"What if she can pull a cart?" said Horse.

0:17:40 > 0:17:44"What if she takes a cart full of fruit and vegetables to market

0:17:44 > 0:17:47"and gets there quicker than ME?

0:17:47 > 0:17:50"She might even give rides to the farmer's children.

0:17:50 > 0:17:55"There would be no place for me, and I'd end up in an old-horses' home.

0:17:55 > 0:17:59"Neigh! I'm too young for that!"

0:17:59 > 0:18:01"How frightful!" said everyone.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05The animals were very, very worried.

0:18:05 > 0:18:08They were so busy worrying,

0:18:08 > 0:18:14they did not notice that some of the young ones had strayed away.

0:18:14 > 0:18:18"Where are my puppies?" asked Dog, looking around.

0:18:18 > 0:18:21"And my kittens?" asked Cat.

0:18:21 > 0:18:24Sheep could not find her tiny lamb either.

0:18:25 > 0:18:29All the animals searched and searched, but not a kitten,

0:18:29 > 0:18:32nor a puppy,

0:18:32 > 0:18:35nor a tiny lamb could they find anywhere.

0:18:35 > 0:18:38They looked from the barn...

0:18:38 > 0:18:41to the pigsty - with no luck.

0:18:42 > 0:18:46"This is dreadful!" crowed Rooster.

0:18:46 > 0:18:48"Horrible!" woofed Dog.

0:18:48 > 0:18:50"Awful!" miaowed Cat.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53"Shocking!" mooed Cow.

0:18:53 > 0:18:55"Terrible!" baaed Sheep.

0:18:55 > 0:18:58"Frightful!" neighed Horse.

0:18:58 > 0:19:02Suddenly, across the field, they saw...

0:19:02 > 0:19:05a very strange animal indeed,

0:19:05 > 0:19:08leaping and bounding towards them.

0:19:08 > 0:19:11"Hello!" it said. "I'm Kangaroo!"

0:19:11 > 0:19:16The animals stopped searching for their babies.

0:19:16 > 0:19:18They stared and stared,

0:19:18 > 0:19:22for the funny-looking animal had a big pouch in her tummy,

0:19:22 > 0:19:24and in the pouch...

0:19:24 > 0:19:26were three kittens,

0:19:26 > 0:19:28two puppies

0:19:28 > 0:19:31and one tiny lamb!

0:19:31 > 0:19:35"I found your babies!" said Kangaroo. "I'm a baby-minder.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38"I look after the young and carry them when they get tired.

0:19:38 > 0:19:40"They love it!"

0:19:40 > 0:19:44"What a good idea!" the animals cried.

0:19:44 > 0:19:48And crowing and barking and miaowing and mooing

0:19:48 > 0:19:50and baaing and neighing,

0:19:50 > 0:19:53they all welcomed Kangaroo

0:19:53 > 0:19:55to her new home.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58That was a great story, wasn't it?

0:19:58 > 0:20:02I loved those animals. I thought I'd make a toy animal for Tamba.

0:20:02 > 0:20:06This is an empty yoghurt-drink carton.

0:20:06 > 0:20:10We'll use that for the body of my cat - I'm gonna make a cat today.

0:20:10 > 0:20:14And this lovely orange wool is gonna be its fur.

0:20:16 > 0:20:21I'm going to stick some sticky tape on the end of that piece of wool,

0:20:21 > 0:20:24and I'm gonna stick that inside.

0:20:24 > 0:20:29And now I've got to do some gluey sticking all over this pot.

0:20:29 > 0:20:35Now, remember to wash your hands once you've used this glue,

0:20:35 > 0:20:39because your fingers might get all sticky, and...

0:20:39 > 0:20:45if you don't wash your hands, your fingers will stick to everything.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48OK. Now...

0:20:48 > 0:20:52we're gonna wind this wool all around this pot.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55So here we go.

0:20:57 > 0:21:01It's a little bit tricky, so maybe you can get someone to help you.

0:21:01 > 0:21:04But you might be quite good at doing this.

0:21:06 > 0:21:09All the way round and round and round and round...

0:21:11 > 0:21:14You can see all the white is disappearing.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18And this cat has got some fur!

0:21:18 > 0:21:20He's got orange fur.

0:21:20 > 0:21:25Of course, if you want your cat to be a different colour,

0:21:25 > 0:21:28you can use any colour of wool that you can find.

0:21:28 > 0:21:33Maybe you'd like black, or even a pink cat - that'd be funny!

0:21:33 > 0:21:37So there we are. A little bit of sticky tape...

0:21:37 > 0:21:40on the bottom to hold it together.

0:21:40 > 0:21:42There we've got a nice furry cat.

0:21:42 > 0:21:46We need a face for our cat. Can you see over here...?

0:21:46 > 0:21:48I have cut...

0:21:48 > 0:21:52two squares into circles, like this.

0:21:52 > 0:21:56I've got a big circle and a small one. I'll use the small one

0:21:56 > 0:21:59for the bottom of my cat.

0:21:59 > 0:22:03So some more glue on the end of that bottle, like that.

0:22:03 > 0:22:07That little circle is just gonna be popped on there.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11You can see that.

0:22:11 > 0:22:15And then we're gonna draw a face for our cat.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18So, a cat has got one eye...

0:22:18 > 0:22:22like you and I, and two eyes, like you and I.

0:22:22 > 0:22:24And a little nose.

0:22:24 > 0:22:26There's his mouth.

0:22:31 > 0:22:34And some whiskers.

0:22:34 > 0:22:39And to make ears for your cat, snip the corners off the piece of paper.

0:22:39 > 0:22:41See?

0:22:41 > 0:22:43One corner...

0:22:43 > 0:22:45two corners.

0:22:47 > 0:22:49A little more glue around the top.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57We'll stick these on and see what that looks like.

0:22:57 > 0:23:01Ah, you see - they look like ears, don't they?

0:23:01 > 0:23:06And that's gonna be stuck on the top...of our cat.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11Lots and lots of sticky glue.

0:23:11 > 0:23:15And that'll stick on quite nicely there.

0:23:15 > 0:23:19"Miaow! Hello! I haven't got any legs!"

0:23:19 > 0:23:22You're right! I haven't made any legs. I'll do that now.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25These are lovely orange pom-poms.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27These are gonna be great for legs.

0:23:27 > 0:23:31So, let's cover the bottom of our cat...

0:23:32 > 0:23:34..with lots of glue.

0:23:34 > 0:23:39Now, when this glue dries, it'll dry clear, so don't worry about it.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42You won't see it any more.

0:23:42 > 0:23:48Now, once you've done that, you can just pop these on. One, two...

0:23:48 > 0:23:50three,

0:23:50 > 0:23:53four! Four legs.

0:23:53 > 0:23:55"Miaow! I haven't got a tail!"

0:23:55 > 0:23:57Oh! I hadn't forgotten!

0:23:57 > 0:24:01And I've got a nice piece of orange wool here,

0:24:01 > 0:24:03and that's perfect for our tail.

0:24:03 > 0:24:06So let's get a little bit of sticky tape like that,

0:24:06 > 0:24:08pop it onto the end,

0:24:08 > 0:24:10and stick it there.

0:24:10 > 0:24:14And there's our cat...for Tamba.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17"Miaow! Miaow!"

0:24:17 > 0:24:20Tamba! Tamba! Come and see your cat!

0:24:20 > 0:24:25- Oh, I really like my cat, Paul! - Oh, I'm glad.

0:24:25 > 0:24:30- Can it have stripes on it, please? - Oh!- I want it to be a tiger!

0:24:30 > 0:24:33A tiger, eh? Some black stripes coming right up.

0:24:33 > 0:24:36I've got some black wool here.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39A little bit of sticky tape on the end...

0:24:39 > 0:24:42and watch what I'm gonna do.

0:24:42 > 0:24:45I'm just gonna wind this black wool

0:24:45 > 0:24:47- all around.- Ooh!

0:24:47 > 0:24:50THEY SNIGGER

0:24:50 > 0:24:53- "Miaow! Roar!"- Thank you, Paul!

0:24:53 > 0:24:57- Do you like that? It's good, eh? - It's a brilliant tiger!

0:24:57 > 0:24:59It is. There you are.

0:24:59 > 0:25:01Ooh!

0:25:01 > 0:25:06A brilliant, roary, stripy tiger! "Roar!"

0:25:06 > 0:25:10Oh! Well, I wonder where Tamba's going to take the tiger.

0:25:10 > 0:25:12Perhaps to the jungle.
