0:00:02 > 0:00:03'I'm Nigel.'
0:00:04 > 0:00:06'I'm Michelle.
0:00:08 > 0:00:11'We're going to show you how to turn useless rubbish...'
0:00:11 > 0:00:13What are you going to do with this lot?
0:00:13 > 0:00:15'..into amazing, useful stuff.'
0:00:15 > 0:00:16So cool.
0:00:16 > 0:00:18'All here on...'
0:00:22 > 0:00:26Coming up, we meet an artist who makes fantastic things from foil...
0:00:29 > 0:00:33..we visit someone who wants results from his sweet wrappers...
0:00:33 > 0:00:37and we show you how to make a new bag out of old plastic bags.
0:00:38 > 0:00:40But first...
0:00:40 > 0:00:42You want some sauce with that?
0:00:42 > 0:00:45Hi there, we've got a new mayonnaise product we're testing on people.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48We're trying out a new sauce and I noticed you have sandwiches.
0:00:48 > 0:00:50I wondered if you'd like to try some new mustard?
0:00:50 > 0:00:53- Yeah, hold on.- Yes, why not? - Have some of this.
0:00:53 > 0:00:54Argh!
0:00:54 > 0:00:58THEY LAUGH
0:01:00 > 0:01:02- You ready?- Yeah.- Yeah?
0:01:02 > 0:01:04SHE LAUGHS
0:01:06 > 0:01:07- Made my day.- Perfect!
0:01:09 > 0:01:12This is Splat Attack and I'm going to show you how to make it. Come on.
0:01:12 > 0:01:14'Yep, I'm going to show you how to prank your mates
0:01:14 > 0:01:17'out of stuff you've got lying around.'
0:01:17 > 0:01:21What you need first is an old squeezy bottle -
0:01:21 > 0:01:24it could be an old mayo bottle or an old ketchup bottle.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28Wash it out and make sure it's nice and clean.
0:01:28 > 0:01:32The next thing you need to do is pour some paint in.
0:01:32 > 0:01:34Now make sure the paint is the same colour
0:01:34 > 0:01:37as whatever sauce was inside your squeezy bottle.
0:01:37 > 0:01:42Get a good amount of paint in there and then comes the fun bit.
0:01:44 > 0:01:47Put the lid on, make sure it's on nice and tight,
0:01:47 > 0:01:50shut and shake it up.
0:01:50 > 0:01:52Painting the inside of the bottle
0:01:52 > 0:01:55will make it look like it's full of real sauce.
0:01:55 > 0:01:58OK, then you need to let that dry.
0:01:58 > 0:02:04Once it's dry, you should have a bottle that looks a bit like that.
0:02:04 > 0:02:09Next up, we need to add our splat string.
0:02:10 > 0:02:14Now take some string - you want about an arm's length.
0:02:14 > 0:02:15Take some scissors.
0:02:17 > 0:02:18make a little snip.
0:02:22 > 0:02:27Take the lid off your squeezy bottle and feed the string into it.
0:02:27 > 0:02:30It's best to use a pencil to do this cos it can be fiddly.
0:02:37 > 0:02:39There we go.
0:02:39 > 0:02:42String is on the bottle top.
0:02:42 > 0:02:47Now we need to tie knots in the bottom and top of the string,
0:02:47 > 0:02:52so that your splat string doesn't come flying out of the bottle
0:02:52 > 0:02:53or get sucked in.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57'Make sure your knots are big enough.'
0:02:59 > 0:03:01A knot in the bottom...
0:03:01 > 0:03:03There we go.
0:03:03 > 0:03:06Then you need to feed your string into the bottle.
0:03:08 > 0:03:12Once that's all in, then on goes your bottle top.
0:03:13 > 0:03:18Just like that. Then we are ready to prank someone.
0:03:18 > 0:03:21If you don't want to use a mayonnaise bottle,
0:03:21 > 0:03:25you could use a mustard bottle or ketchup bottle.
0:03:25 > 0:03:28Then you're ready for Splat Attack.
0:03:33 > 0:03:35RAT SQUEAKS
0:03:56 > 0:03:57Grr!
0:04:07 > 0:04:10Did you know that one in every five pieces of litter in the UK
0:04:10 > 0:04:12is a sweet wrapper?
0:04:12 > 0:04:14Well, I know a guy who wants to recycle his wrappers
0:04:14 > 0:04:16into something fun.
0:04:16 > 0:04:17Meet Omar.
0:04:17 > 0:04:19He keeps hold of everything.
0:04:20 > 0:04:24Cardboard rolls, plastic containers, scrap paper -
0:04:24 > 0:04:26you name it, he keeps it.
0:04:26 > 0:04:31His art bag got so full of materials that he started an art BOX.
0:04:31 > 0:04:35Then THAT got so full that he started an art CUPBOARD!
0:04:35 > 0:04:37But there's one thing he's been collecting
0:04:37 > 0:04:39that he doesn't know what to do with.
0:04:39 > 0:04:41It's these sweet wrappers that he wants us to help him with.
0:04:41 > 0:04:44So, Omar, you seem like a pretty creative guy to me -
0:04:44 > 0:04:47you've got a stash of loads of things here!
0:04:47 > 0:04:49Do you just create things from old bits and pieces
0:04:49 > 0:04:51you've got lying around or...?
0:04:51 > 0:04:54Yes, I just find stuff around the house
0:04:54 > 0:04:56and ask Mum if I can, like, use it
0:04:56 > 0:05:00and put it in my art box or art bag or cupboard.
0:05:00 > 0:05:02Two days later, I'll be like, "Oh, I need that,"
0:05:02 > 0:05:03- and I'll just pull it...- Nice.
0:05:03 > 0:05:06Pop it on the end of something or something like that. Yeah.
0:05:06 > 0:05:08You sound like my type of guy.
0:05:08 > 0:05:09So what type of things do you create?
0:05:09 > 0:05:14A card game, er, to do with food and energy of the food.
0:05:14 > 0:05:18Er, a Ferris wheel that electrically goes around.
0:05:18 > 0:05:19- I've made a car that...- What?!
0:05:19 > 0:05:22..flick and switch and then it will goes straight by itself.
0:05:22 > 0:05:23Nice.
0:05:23 > 0:05:26I thought, "I've got loads of sweet wrappers all over the house."
0:05:26 > 0:05:29- All over the house, eh?- Yeah. - You like your sweets then?
0:05:29 > 0:05:32Yeah, but don't tell anyone. Ssh! It'll be a secret.
0:05:32 > 0:05:35Yeah, I like eating sweets.
0:05:35 > 0:05:38But you've still not found a use for them in terms of creating something?
0:05:38 > 0:05:41I've never really thought of anything to use it for.
0:05:41 > 0:05:44Well, lucky for you, I know someone that is amazing
0:05:44 > 0:05:47at reinventing things from using old sweet wrappers.
0:05:47 > 0:05:48Check this out.
0:05:55 > 0:05:58I'm Joanne Tinker and I'm a recycled artist
0:05:58 > 0:06:01and, at the moment, I'm working with sweet wrappers.
0:06:01 > 0:06:03Working with sweet wrappers means eating lots of sweets,
0:06:03 > 0:06:06so everybody loves collecting them for me.
0:06:18 > 0:06:22So I'm now going to show you how to make a boat out of sweet wrappers.
0:06:22 > 0:06:26I'm going to start off by flattening the foil.
0:06:26 > 0:06:29This just makes it a lot easier to work with.
0:06:31 > 0:06:34And then to have the boat with the colour on the outside,
0:06:34 > 0:06:38I'm going to begin by folding the rectangle in half.
0:06:38 > 0:06:43Then I need to bring the corners down and in on one side...
0:06:43 > 0:06:44and then the other.
0:06:48 > 0:06:52Foil is very delicate, so you have to be careful with it.
0:06:52 > 0:06:56Pull the triangle apart and almost fold it back on itself.
0:06:58 > 0:07:01Bring these corners up on one side...
0:07:03 > 0:07:04..and then the other.
0:07:06 > 0:07:09We need to find the centre and I'm using this wooden skewer
0:07:09 > 0:07:12so you don't need any expensive tools or any equipment.
0:07:12 > 0:07:16Open the triangle up and fold it over again.
0:07:16 > 0:07:21And, this time, pull these two apart...
0:07:21 > 0:07:23and your boat is nearly done.
0:07:26 > 0:07:28I've made nearly 300 of these boats
0:07:28 > 0:07:31and I'm now going to display them in this frame.
0:07:33 > 0:07:34I try to mix up the colours,
0:07:34 > 0:07:38so there aren't too many blues next to each other, for example,
0:07:38 > 0:07:41and make sure the sails point in different directions,
0:07:41 > 0:07:45so the overall look is nice and random.
0:07:45 > 0:07:49The next stage is to make the mast and the sail for the boat.
0:07:49 > 0:07:51This has come off a cordial bottle.
0:07:58 > 0:08:00Don't worry if you make a mistake -
0:08:00 > 0:08:03you can always eat another sweet and use the wrapper from that.
0:08:06 > 0:08:09And there's the finished sweet wrapper boat.
0:08:16 > 0:08:19I'm now going to show you another way to make a boat.
0:08:19 > 0:08:20This time using a doming block.
0:08:24 > 0:08:28Using foil is fun and it will do things that other materials won't.
0:08:28 > 0:08:30For instance, paper won't hold its shape.
0:08:49 > 0:08:52OK, here's the final piece finished, made out of sweet wrappers.
0:08:52 > 0:08:55I think I'm going to call it Regatta.
0:09:00 > 0:09:02I love the detail on Joanne's boats
0:09:02 > 0:09:05and all made out of sweet wrappers and old wire! Amazing!
0:09:05 > 0:09:08And great inspiration for what to make with Omar.
0:09:09 > 0:09:14We are going to create our very own sweet wrapper draughts game.
0:09:14 > 0:09:16- How does that sound to you? - Really good.- Up for it?- Yeah.
0:09:16 > 0:09:18Brilliant, that's what we like.
0:09:18 > 0:09:21You have loads of sweet wrappers - you've been eating a LOT of sweets!
0:09:21 > 0:09:23We're going to need four cereal boxes.
0:09:23 > 0:09:25Two large ones and two small ones.
0:09:25 > 0:09:28With the two larger ones, I've just stuck them together.
0:09:28 > 0:09:30Then, with the two smaller ones, snip the front off
0:09:30 > 0:09:34and what we're going to do with these is create the drawers
0:09:34 > 0:09:36so we can put all our game's pieces and everything
0:09:36 > 0:09:38inside the draughts box.
0:09:38 > 0:09:41'Draw around the end of your small box and cut out a hole.
0:09:41 > 0:09:43'Do the same on the other side.'
0:09:43 > 0:09:45Now we have got our two holes - we've got one there for one drawer
0:09:45 > 0:09:47and one there for another drawer.
0:09:47 > 0:09:51'Use your larger box to see how big your drawer should be...
0:09:51 > 0:09:54'and make some tabs so you can fold up the ends.'
0:09:55 > 0:09:59So it's basically just evening it up to make it all the same level
0:09:59 > 0:10:02and then, once it's stuck together, it should look something like this
0:10:02 > 0:10:06and it should just very neatly fit inside like that.
0:10:06 > 0:10:09So once you've built up your boxes, it's time to paint it.
0:10:09 > 0:10:11What colours do you think we should go for?
0:10:11 > 0:10:15I would say red because it's not too bright and it's not too dull.
0:10:15 > 0:10:18Um...for the drawers, gold,
0:10:18 > 0:10:21because checkers is like queens and kings, like high colour.
0:10:21 > 0:10:24- High colour, royal colours. - Yeah.- We like it.
0:10:24 > 0:10:25I'm loving your style.
0:10:28 > 0:10:30Do you prefer sweets or chocolate?
0:10:30 > 0:10:33Well, it melts in your mouth, so I would say chocolate.
0:10:33 > 0:10:35- Chocolate.- Yeah. - Melt-in-your-mouth chocolate.
0:10:35 > 0:10:38- I think I'd agree with you on that one.- Melty chocolate.- Nice.
0:10:38 > 0:10:39Make our own brand -
0:10:39 > 0:10:42"The chocolate that melts and soothes into your mouth."
0:10:42 > 0:10:44SHE LAUGHS
0:10:44 > 0:10:46And I tell you what - this is a great excuse
0:10:46 > 0:10:49- for eating more chocolates and sweets, isn't it?- Yeah.
0:10:49 > 0:10:52"Mum, can you just get me some more sweets and chocolate, please?
0:10:52 > 0:10:55"I really want to make something afterwards."
0:10:55 > 0:10:57We've got a lot of red and gold sweet wrappers, haven't we?
0:10:57 > 0:11:00So we can coordinate it quite nicely.
0:11:02 > 0:11:04Whilst they're drying, we can crack on
0:11:04 > 0:11:08with making the actual draughts part of the game.
0:11:08 > 0:11:11So all I've done is grabbed another one of the larger cereal boxes
0:11:11 > 0:11:13and cut out a perfect square.
0:11:13 > 0:11:16Now a draughts board has 64 squares on it,
0:11:16 > 0:11:19so that's eight squares by eight squares
0:11:19 > 0:11:22and I've got a really simple way of actually creating those squares.
0:11:22 > 0:11:26Draw a line straight down the centre.
0:11:26 > 0:11:28Halve that again on this side.
0:11:29 > 0:11:31And then we're going to halve it again.
0:11:34 > 0:11:36He's very good.
0:11:36 > 0:11:38Perfect!
0:11:38 > 0:11:40I tell you what - this is going to be one great game.
0:11:40 > 0:11:43This is going to be Omar's Game.
0:11:43 > 0:11:44OK, now for the fun bit -
0:11:44 > 0:11:46we can start wrapping up the squares.
0:11:46 > 0:11:49It's almost like wrapping sweets up again, really, isn't it?
0:11:49 > 0:11:51- Which colour are you going for? - Gold.
0:11:51 > 0:11:53OK, I'll go for red.
0:11:53 > 0:11:55And Joanne Tinker mentioned when you're using foil,
0:11:55 > 0:11:58just make sure you're really delicate with it,
0:11:58 > 0:11:59cos it can tear quite easily,
0:11:59 > 0:12:02and you just need to make sure you spread it out,
0:12:02 > 0:12:04try and get rid of all of the creases,
0:12:04 > 0:12:05just make it look nice and neat.
0:12:05 > 0:12:08- And if you do rip it, you can always just use a...- Yeah.
0:12:08 > 0:12:10- Eat another sweet and use another wrapper.- Yeah.
0:12:10 > 0:12:12That's all right, isn't it?
0:12:16 > 0:12:18For this bit, it'd probably be good
0:12:18 > 0:12:21to get your mates round, wouldn't it?
0:12:21 > 0:12:24All bring their sweets, all sit down and get wrapping.
0:12:24 > 0:12:25It should be a song -
0:12:25 > 0:12:27# Get wrapping, get wrapping, get wrapping
0:12:27 > 0:12:29# Get wrapping, get wrapping with your sweets! #
0:12:36 > 0:12:38Swap sides.
0:12:38 > 0:12:39New song.
0:12:39 > 0:12:40# Swap it, stick it
0:12:40 > 0:12:42# Drop it. #
0:12:42 > 0:12:44MICHELLE LAUGHS
0:12:44 > 0:12:47The gold drawer, I've done a red border
0:12:47 > 0:12:49and I've put a little handle on,
0:12:49 > 0:12:52which is a clue to what we're going to be playing the game with.
0:12:52 > 0:12:54These are chocolates.
0:12:54 > 0:12:56We're going to be playing with sweets,
0:12:56 > 0:12:58- so you can take all of the red ones. - Eat them all!
0:13:00 > 0:13:03- You're going down. You're first. - OK.
0:13:04 > 0:13:08This is so much better than just buying a game in a shop, isn't it?
0:13:08 > 0:13:11- Yeah. It's a lot cheaper as well. - Much cheaper.
0:13:11 > 0:13:12Ba-bam! Gotcha!
0:13:12 > 0:13:14- SHE LAUGHS - Oh, man!
0:13:14 > 0:13:18I am the master and I'm going to eat your piece.
0:13:18 > 0:13:20I need to get better at this game.
0:13:20 > 0:13:21I knew you were going to be better than me!
0:13:21 > 0:13:23And if you do prefer sweets to chocolate,
0:13:23 > 0:13:25how about trying a different design?
0:13:25 > 0:13:28You could use your favourite sweets to create something like this.
0:13:28 > 0:13:32Or, if you want to get really adventurous and really creative,
0:13:32 > 0:13:34how about creating your own chessboard
0:13:34 > 0:13:37with rolled-up sweet wrappers for the pieces?
0:13:41 > 0:13:46To make your sweet wrappers draughts game, here's what you have to do.
0:13:46 > 0:13:49Stage one - with your two large cereal boxes stuck together,
0:13:49 > 0:13:53use one of your small boxes to mark your drawer opening on both sides.
0:13:53 > 0:13:54Then cut them out.
0:13:59 > 0:14:02Stage two - determine the size of your drawer by placing it
0:14:02 > 0:14:05on top of the large box and marking at the edge.
0:14:05 > 0:14:09Then measure an additional three centimetres for the tabs.
0:14:09 > 0:14:12Cut these out, fold up the card to make the drawer
0:14:12 > 0:14:13and trim any extra bits.
0:14:19 > 0:14:22Stage three - paint the large boxes and the small boxes
0:14:22 > 0:14:24whatever colour you like.
0:14:26 > 0:14:31Stage four - divide a large square of card into 64 smaller squares
0:14:31 > 0:14:32and cut them out.
0:14:35 > 0:14:38Stage five - get your sweet wrappers and flatten them out,
0:14:38 > 0:14:42cover the small card squares in foil and stick them in place.
0:14:42 > 0:14:4532 of one colour and 32 of another.
0:14:45 > 0:14:48Then stick them on top of the boxes.
0:14:49 > 0:14:51Stage six - add finishing touches.
0:14:51 > 0:14:53I've put a border on the front of the drawers
0:14:53 > 0:14:56and I've used sweets as the drawer handles.
0:14:59 > 0:15:00To complete the game,
0:15:00 > 0:15:03collect sweets and use them as playing pieces.
0:15:08 > 0:15:11Still to come, we make music from a load of old junk...
0:15:12 > 0:15:15..and we show you how to make a hovercraft balloon.
0:15:17 > 0:15:20But first - Totally Famous.
0:15:21 > 0:15:23Introducing Andy Warhol,
0:15:23 > 0:15:26totally famous for putting the pop into art in the 1960s.
0:15:26 > 0:15:28With his big glasses and wild wigs,
0:15:28 > 0:15:31Andy Warhol was obsessed with celebrity.
0:15:31 > 0:15:33Yep, that's him.
0:15:33 > 0:15:36He predicted that everyone would have their moment in the spotlight -
0:15:36 > 0:15:38their very own 15 minutes of fame.
0:15:38 > 0:15:41And that was long before the internet and TV talent shows
0:15:41 > 0:15:42made it much easier.
0:15:45 > 0:15:49Warhol took inspiration for his art from all sorts of everyday stuff -
0:15:49 > 0:15:51upcycling what he saw
0:15:51 > 0:15:54and turning the totally ordinary into the totally cool.
0:15:55 > 0:15:56Cola bottles...
0:15:58 > 0:16:01..and cans of soup all got the Warhol treatment,
0:16:01 > 0:16:03along with famous celebs.
0:16:03 > 0:16:07In 2008, one of Warhol's prints of Elvis Presley,
0:16:07 > 0:16:12called Eight Elvises sold for over £60 million!
0:16:12 > 0:16:15Clever old Andy's most famous work was created by screen printing,
0:16:15 > 0:16:18meaning he could create the same image again and again,
0:16:18 > 0:16:21making him more and more moolah.
0:16:21 > 0:16:22He even called his studio The Factory
0:16:22 > 0:16:25because of how he mass-produced his work.
0:16:25 > 0:16:29He covered the place in foil to make it totally shiny and fabulous,
0:16:29 > 0:16:30just like him.
0:16:31 > 0:16:35So please give it up for the totally famous Andy Warhol.
0:16:42 > 0:16:46Today, we're going to make a CD hovercraft balloon...
0:16:47 > 0:16:51..using the sports cap from an old plastic drinks bottle,
0:16:51 > 0:16:55an old, scratched CD and a leftover balloon.
0:16:55 > 0:16:59First, take the top off an old juice bottle that goes up and down.
0:17:01 > 0:17:04Then get some glue.
0:17:04 > 0:17:06Glue it to the centre of an old, scratched CD.
0:17:08 > 0:17:10It stinks.
0:17:10 > 0:17:12Leave it to dry for a long time.
0:17:16 > 0:17:18How's it going, Michelle?
0:17:18 > 0:17:19Fine.
0:17:19 > 0:17:22The next thing you do, you get a leftover balloon
0:17:22 > 0:17:23from, like, a party.
0:17:30 > 0:17:34So you need to put the end of the balloon onto the cap,
0:17:34 > 0:17:36losing as little air as possible.
0:17:36 > 0:17:37AIR HISSES
0:17:37 > 0:17:38Whoosh.
0:17:38 > 0:17:40Final thing you need to do,
0:17:40 > 0:17:41you just release...
0:17:43 > 0:17:46..and you have your hovercraft!
0:17:46 > 0:17:48THEY LAUGH
0:17:48 > 0:17:49There you have it.
0:17:49 > 0:17:52Your own CD hovercraft balloon.
0:17:56 > 0:17:59The best thing about making the CD hovercraft balloon
0:17:59 > 0:18:03is, um, you can make lots of them and race your friends.
0:18:03 > 0:18:05THEY LAUGH
0:18:25 > 0:18:27CAMERA CLICKS
0:18:36 > 0:18:41'What can you make from a bin bag full of rubbish?'
0:18:41 > 0:18:43- Have a look at all of that.- What?!
0:18:43 > 0:18:45Why have you got a load of plastic bags?
0:18:45 > 0:18:49Because I'm going to show you how to make a must-have bag
0:18:49 > 0:18:51to impress all your mates.
0:18:51 > 0:18:54You'll need a load of plastic bags,
0:18:54 > 0:18:56a couple of old shoelaces,
0:18:56 > 0:18:59an iron and ironing board,
0:18:59 > 0:19:01baking paper,
0:19:01 > 0:19:02some tape
0:19:02 > 0:19:06and, oh, yeah, be sure to get permission to use the iron.
0:19:06 > 0:19:08This bag came from those plastic bags?
0:19:08 > 0:19:09- It did indeed.- No!
0:19:09 > 0:19:11You can carry your trainers,
0:19:11 > 0:19:13you can carry, you know, food for the picnic.
0:19:13 > 0:19:14It's waterproof.
0:19:14 > 0:19:16I'm seriously impressed.
0:19:16 > 0:19:18- Do you want me to show you how to do it?- Definitely!
0:19:18 > 0:19:19Right, let's get to this.
0:19:19 > 0:19:21To make the decoration for the bag,
0:19:21 > 0:19:22we're going to need an ironing board
0:19:22 > 0:19:25- and a couple of sheets of baking paper for this.- OK.
0:19:25 > 0:19:27- And the iron, of course.- OK.
0:19:27 > 0:19:32So you take some old, shredded bits of plastic bag like this.
0:19:32 > 0:19:35All the plastic bags that you saw earlier on, we've shredded them up
0:19:35 > 0:19:39to make this and you're going to put this between your baking papers.
0:19:39 > 0:19:42Like a baking paper sandwich.
0:19:42 > 0:19:44That wouldn't be very tasty at all.
0:19:44 > 0:19:46I like all of these different colours as well,
0:19:46 > 0:19:49so if you've got different-coloured plastic bags, that's good, right?
0:19:49 > 0:19:51It's all about the design of your bag.
0:19:51 > 0:19:53I'm going to show you some cool stuff later on.
0:19:53 > 0:19:56Put the second sheet of baking paper on top
0:19:56 > 0:19:59and next we need to iron it down.
0:19:59 > 0:20:00Now be careful with the iron -
0:20:00 > 0:20:04don't be afraid to go and get someone to help you out with this,
0:20:04 > 0:20:06- OK, because we don't want to frazzle...- No.
0:20:06 > 0:20:10..our plastic bags we just want to gently warm them
0:20:10 > 0:20:12and get them to fuse together.
0:20:15 > 0:20:18You also have to make sure that you keep the iron moving.
0:20:21 > 0:20:24Wicked! It looks like a piece of art just like that, doesn't it?
0:20:24 > 0:20:26Exactly. So you see how all the little bits of plastic
0:20:26 > 0:20:28have, like, fused together?
0:20:28 > 0:20:31The next thing we're going to use is these thick plastic bags
0:20:31 > 0:20:34so we've got a black bin liner there and a blue one as well.
0:20:34 > 0:20:36They are going to make the main bit of our bag
0:20:36 > 0:20:39and what we need to do is use the same process
0:20:39 > 0:20:41and iron them between the greaseproof paper
0:20:41 > 0:20:43so they stick together.
0:20:46 > 0:20:49You should get something like this.
0:20:49 > 0:20:52- See how they've...? - That feels so cool!
0:20:52 > 0:20:54And the good thing about it is it also makes it stronger.
0:20:54 > 0:20:56So you've got a double layer.
0:20:56 > 0:20:59You've got a double layer and it strengthens your bag.
0:20:59 > 0:21:02The next thing to do is to take your decorative piece.
0:21:02 > 0:21:04So that's like the special feature!
0:21:04 > 0:21:06- It's like layering. So...- I see.
0:21:06 > 0:21:09You take your decorative piece, you put that in place,
0:21:09 > 0:21:14put it between your baking papers again.
0:21:14 > 0:21:17- Iron on.- Yep.- Iron off.- Getting you.
0:21:17 > 0:21:18Very cool!
0:21:18 > 0:21:20So it's just like built it up, hasn't it?
0:21:20 > 0:21:22Yeah, you're just layering, basically,
0:21:22 > 0:21:23you're building up the layers.
0:21:23 > 0:21:26You don't just have to do your decorations like this -
0:21:26 > 0:21:27there's other ways to do it.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29- I'll show you an example.- OK.
0:21:29 > 0:21:31- Here...- Oh, I like that one.
0:21:31 > 0:21:34- Done some stripes. - Yeah, I like that.
0:21:34 > 0:21:35- OK?- Yeah, that's nice.
0:21:35 > 0:21:37So you've got your main components.
0:21:37 > 0:21:40- What you need to do is draw out some templates...- Yeah.
0:21:40 > 0:21:42- ..for the different bits of your bag.- Yeah.
0:21:42 > 0:21:44This is going to be front and back.
0:21:44 > 0:21:46This will be the bottom - we only need one of those -
0:21:46 > 0:21:50and here are the sides. We need two of these.
0:21:50 > 0:21:52So once you have your template,
0:21:52 > 0:21:55put it on the main part of your bag there
0:21:55 > 0:21:58- and what you need to do is cut around it.- OK.
0:21:58 > 0:22:01- So you cut out the front, the back, the sides and the bottom.- Yep.
0:22:01 > 0:22:03And then you're ready to go.
0:22:03 > 0:22:07- But, just before we move on and put it all together...- Yeah?
0:22:07 > 0:22:10..what I've done here is I've cut out a skull and crossbones
0:22:10 > 0:22:11- from a plastic bag.- Yeah.
0:22:11 > 0:22:15We're going to use the same process again to add another layer,
0:22:15 > 0:22:17- like this.- That's so cool.
0:22:17 > 0:22:19That's the front of the bag done.
0:22:19 > 0:22:21You've got your sides, you've got your front and your back.
0:22:21 > 0:22:23Now you stick them together.
0:22:23 > 0:22:24So why don't we do some of it now?
0:22:24 > 0:22:26I've got some tape here
0:22:26 > 0:22:28and just stick it down on the sides like that.
0:22:28 > 0:22:30Very neat handiwork.
0:22:30 > 0:22:32- I try. I try, Michelle. - You do try your best.
0:22:32 > 0:22:35- Could you hold this corner at the top there for me?- Course I can.
0:22:35 > 0:22:37- That's it, you don't want any gaps in it.- No, no.
0:22:37 > 0:22:38You don't want your shopping falling out.
0:22:38 > 0:22:41Don't want your shopping falling out of the bag. There you go.
0:22:41 > 0:22:43So you do that all the way around the bag.
0:22:43 > 0:22:46You have a box that looks something like that,
0:22:46 > 0:22:48- which is the basis of this.- Amazing.
0:22:48 > 0:22:50Now I've just added a bit of tape at the top
0:22:50 > 0:22:54and I've put a couple of holes in and this is an old shoelace.
0:22:56 > 0:22:58- It's a great look.- Working?
0:22:58 > 0:22:59It's really working, yeah.
0:22:59 > 0:23:02Working it. If you don't want to make a bag.
0:23:02 > 0:23:05- You've got the pencil case up there. - Oh, I like that.
0:23:05 > 0:23:07Or there's the other style of bag
0:23:07 > 0:23:10and then if you feel really creative and cool, apron.
0:23:10 > 0:23:11Check that out!
0:23:13 > 0:23:15It is a must-have bag.
0:23:20 > 0:23:22CAR HORNS HONK
0:23:22 > 0:23:24Om-nom-nom-nom-nom.
0:23:24 > 0:23:25HE BELCHES
0:23:25 > 0:23:29Hey, a bag made of bags - now that's what I call recycling!
0:23:29 > 0:23:33You know, we only recycle one plastic bag in every 25 we use.
0:23:33 > 0:23:34That's terrible!
0:23:34 > 0:23:37I might have a go at one of those bags myself then.
0:23:37 > 0:23:39I knew a plastic bag once.
0:23:39 > 0:23:42He was terrible, too - never knew when to stop.
0:23:42 > 0:23:43- Really?- Yeah.
0:23:43 > 0:23:45He was always getting CARRIED AWAY!
0:23:45 > 0:23:48Oh, ho-ho, ha-ha-ha!
0:23:48 > 0:23:51Get it? Carrier bags, carried away?
0:23:51 > 0:23:53I wish someone would carry YOU away!
0:23:53 > 0:23:56Ho-ho, ha-ha-ha!
0:24:02 > 0:24:05Now, Nige, you've taken me to some places, but a junkyard?
0:24:05 > 0:24:06What is going on here?
0:24:06 > 0:24:09Well, we're going to be making some sweet music in here.
0:24:09 > 0:24:11Music in a junkyard?
0:24:11 > 0:24:14- Standard. - I'm not understanding this at all.
0:24:14 > 0:24:15Come with me.
0:24:21 > 0:24:23- Good to see you. - And you. This is Michelle.
0:24:23 > 0:24:25- Nice to meet you.- How you doing? Andy. Nice to meet you.
0:24:25 > 0:24:28So, Andy, I'm confused - how do you make music in a place like this?
0:24:28 > 0:24:32In here... Well, I mean this is like a Stomper's paradise, really.
0:24:32 > 0:24:33There's different sounds you can make.
0:24:33 > 0:24:35There's plastics, which are a low tone,
0:24:35 > 0:24:37there's high-tone metals you can play.
0:24:37 > 0:24:39- It's a hidden orchestra in this place.- Can we have a go?
0:24:39 > 0:24:42Yeah, course. Come on, let's do it.
0:24:42 > 0:24:45These guys are my mates from Stomp.
0:24:45 > 0:24:49You might have seen us in the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony.
0:24:49 > 0:24:51We use lots of old junk to make music.
0:24:53 > 0:24:55- Why don't you take a stick each? - Thank you.- Thanks.
0:24:55 > 0:24:57Tap on stuff, see if it sounds good.
0:24:57 > 0:24:58HOLLOW TAPPING
0:24:58 > 0:25:00- PLASTIC RATTLES - Oh, yes.- Yeah.
0:25:00 > 0:25:02- I like that.- Yeah? - That sounds good, that one!
0:25:02 > 0:25:03ANDY LAUGHS
0:25:03 > 0:25:05- I think I'm going to play this. - OK, if you say so.
0:25:05 > 0:25:08- I think they're ready for us. Let's go.- Let's do it.
