0:00:19 > 0:00:23powerful, in their own worlds.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25- I need two crab on the pass, now! - Yes, Chef!

0:00:40 > 0:00:42Job done.
0:00:42 > 0:00:44CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:00:44 > 0:00:46This is the world of the VIP People.
0:00:53 > 0:00:59Britain's fashion industry is worth over £20 billion a year.
0:00:59 > 0:01:03And the faces that front the big designer brands can earn millions.
0:01:05 > 0:01:0721-year-old Hannah Cooper
0:01:07 > 0:01:09has been modelling for five years.
0:01:09 > 0:01:13She's signed with one of the biggest model agencies in the world.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18But for Hannah, being a famous face in fashion
0:01:18 > 0:01:21is still very much a dream.
0:01:21 > 0:01:25It'd be amazing if I could get something like this, you know,
0:01:25 > 0:01:28on a big high street like Regent Street. A big campaign.
0:01:28 > 0:01:31Modelling is a competitive industry
0:01:31 > 0:01:34and, like sport stars, models can have short-lived careers.
0:01:34 > 0:01:37You are judged on the way you look.
0:01:37 > 0:01:39To make it to the top in this game
0:01:39 > 0:01:42Hannah needs more than just a pretty face.
0:01:43 > 0:01:45She'll rely on an expert team of VIP People.
0:01:45 > 0:01:49From the agent who gets her castings that lead to jobs
0:01:49 > 0:01:53to the Head of New Faces teaching top modelling tips.
0:01:53 > 0:01:57Keeping her body in model shape is her personal trainer,
0:01:57 > 0:01:59and making sure her portfolio is blemish free
0:01:59 > 0:02:03is the agency's imaging technician.
0:02:06 > 0:02:10Hannah Cooper was spotted by a model scout when she was just 16.
0:02:10 > 0:02:14You know, it kind of feels like your star moment.
0:02:14 > 0:02:17For Hannah, being told she had model looks
0:02:17 > 0:02:19fulfilled a childhood ambition.
0:02:19 > 0:02:22I joked as a child with my mum, reading through magazines and things.
0:02:22 > 0:02:25"I'd love to do that job. Oh, wow."
0:02:25 > 0:02:29Since finishing university she's been modelling full time.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32This is a bus stop that I used to be on.
0:02:32 > 0:02:36And now it's a £1.49 double cheeseburger.
0:02:38 > 0:02:43Hannah is one of around 300 girls signed with Next Model Agency.
0:02:43 > 0:02:48Based in London, it's headed by Amanda Bretherton.
0:02:48 > 0:02:52We have sort of booked most of the supermodels that you would know,
0:02:52 > 0:02:54from Claudia Schiffer to Helena Christensen.
0:02:54 > 0:03:00We shoot all kinds of campaigns. Some Versace, to Gucci, Top Shop.
0:03:00 > 0:03:05A modelling agency basically goes out and finds work for models
0:03:05 > 0:03:07within the fashion industry.
0:03:07 > 0:03:11It can be anything from catwalk shows to TV commercials.
0:03:11 > 0:03:14This is the main booking area.
0:03:14 > 0:03:17This is where it all happens in terms of our industry.
0:03:17 > 0:03:19Do take a look in.
0:03:19 > 0:03:21The agency doesn't employ models,
0:03:21 > 0:03:25they find them work and then take a percentage of their earnings.
0:03:25 > 0:03:30We have girls who might earn a million pounds for a few days' work.
0:03:30 > 0:03:35And we have girls who are very happy to earn £800 for a day's work.
0:03:35 > 0:03:41I'm particularly proud of our iD wall.
0:03:41 > 0:03:47i-D covers in the world of fashion are the most important thing to me.
0:03:47 > 0:03:49They're more important than Vogue covers.
0:03:49 > 0:03:53They're so cool, they're so hip and every model wants one.
0:03:54 > 0:03:57Very few models make it onto Amanda's wall.
0:03:57 > 0:04:01Most girls at Hannah's level model for online catalogues,
0:04:01 > 0:04:04known in the industry as e-com.
0:04:04 > 0:04:09Today, she's on a shoot in Liverpool for shopping website, Very.
0:04:09 > 0:04:14By working full-time now, I've been able to build up regular clients.
0:04:14 > 0:04:16# Bring the action! #
0:04:16 > 0:04:17Chin down, eyes to me.
0:04:17 > 0:04:19With up to four catalogue jobs a week,
0:04:19 > 0:04:21Hannah knows just how to work it.
0:04:21 > 0:04:26You try and aim to get a different pose for every click of the camera.
0:04:26 > 0:04:30So every time the camera clicks, you change, then you change.
0:04:30 > 0:04:32Hannah has her sights set
0:04:32 > 0:04:35on becoming a much bigger face in fashion.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38I'd love to do a high street campaign
0:04:38 > 0:04:41and be able to see my picture in a shop window.
0:04:41 > 0:04:43Big smile as well.
0:04:43 > 0:04:47But she's competing with hundreds of other beautiful girls
0:04:47 > 0:04:48with the same goal.
0:04:48 > 0:04:52You could be...you know, the face of the moment and then the next minute
0:04:52 > 0:04:57there's another girl that can come in and, you know, she's the favourite.
0:04:57 > 0:05:02The VIP Person who first spotted Hannah's modelling potential
0:05:02 > 0:05:04is Head of New Faces, Ross Young.
0:05:04 > 0:05:06Have you done any couture shows before?
0:05:06 > 0:05:08No. Not yet.
0:05:08 > 0:05:10Not yet is the right answer!
0:05:13 > 0:05:16It's Ross's job to spot and nurture model talent.
0:05:16 > 0:05:18Once he finds a girl with the right look
0:05:18 > 0:05:22he instructs them in the delicate art of standing, walking
0:05:22 > 0:05:27and posing to transform them from girl next door into catwalk queen.
0:05:30 > 0:05:33As a child growing up in the far east of Scotland,
0:05:33 > 0:05:36Ross dreamed of being famous.
0:05:36 > 0:05:40I wanted to be a celebrity. Which is strange and really quite sad.
0:05:40 > 0:05:42But then Ross realised he had a talent
0:05:42 > 0:05:44for spotting future stars of fashion.
0:05:44 > 0:05:46That girl's got a great body.
0:05:46 > 0:05:48The whole idea of scouting
0:05:48 > 0:05:50and finding someone brand new
0:05:50 > 0:05:55and making a career happen for them was pretty exciting.
0:05:55 > 0:05:59Five years ago, Ross spotted Hannah shopping with her mum in London.
0:05:59 > 0:06:02She...was very pretty.
0:06:02 > 0:06:04Tall,
0:06:04 > 0:06:06um, a very sweet girl. Still is.
0:06:06 > 0:06:09There's a selection here of Hannah's early tests.
0:06:09 > 0:06:13She had mousy brown - probably the best way to describe it - hair.
0:06:13 > 0:06:17So we took her hair to quite a vibrant blonde.
0:06:17 > 0:06:19But we did a lot of testing with her
0:06:19 > 0:06:23and that was just to get her experienced in being a model.
0:06:26 > 0:06:30Ross has scouted almost 500 girls in a ten-year-career.
0:06:30 > 0:06:32Today he's on the hunt for new talent
0:06:32 > 0:06:37along London's busiest shopping street with colleague Kellydeen.
0:06:39 > 0:06:43Well, we're going to park ourselves up just outside this busy shop,
0:06:43 > 0:06:45where we have a lot of teenagers going in and out.
0:06:45 > 0:06:48So we'll probably position ourselves here
0:06:48 > 0:06:50and we'll wait until we find someone.
0:06:50 > 0:06:53Which hopefully will be in five minutes, but may be five hours.
0:06:58 > 0:07:02During a year, Ross will find around 50 girls with model looks.
0:07:04 > 0:07:06But only about ten of these will end up
0:07:06 > 0:07:08with a full-time modelling career.
0:07:10 > 0:07:13So what exactly is Ross searching for?
0:07:16 > 0:07:21Body size and height are crucial to modelling.
0:07:21 > 0:07:25And we could probably fill a whole agency with girls, British girls,
0:07:25 > 0:07:28who are 5ft 3, 5ft 4, but we are looking for girls
0:07:28 > 0:07:29who are 5ft 9 and above.
0:07:32 > 0:07:36It's rare to find teenage girls as tall as the average man,
0:07:36 > 0:07:39but after 20 minutes, someone catches Ross's eye.
0:07:39 > 0:07:41That girl's petite.
0:07:42 > 0:07:46In this case the girl they've spotted isn't another Hannah.
0:07:46 > 0:07:49Not quite right.
0:07:49 > 0:07:53So how does it feel being stopped in the street by a model scout?
0:07:53 > 0:07:56I remember when Ross first ran up to me,
0:07:56 > 0:08:00and I kind of thought, "God, who's this guy running after me?"
0:08:00 > 0:08:04And, yeah, and then he was like, had I ever thought of modelling?
0:08:04 > 0:08:09And I thought, "God, I've got to do this. I've got to go for it and see."
0:08:09 > 0:08:13An hour later Ross and Kellydeen spot another potential.
0:08:13 > 0:08:14Yes.
0:08:16 > 0:08:18If they don't catch up with this girl,
0:08:18 > 0:08:22they could miss out on the next Kate Moss or Agyness Deyn.
0:08:24 > 0:08:27Hi. I work for Next Model Management, a model agency.
0:08:27 > 0:08:31- Are you already a model?- No.- Have you ever been scouted before?- No.
0:08:31 > 0:08:33It was exciting, definitely.
0:08:33 > 0:08:36I think Mum was even more excited than me as well!
0:08:36 > 0:08:39Go home, have a chat with your parents and if it's something
0:08:39 > 0:08:42- you're interested in, give us a call.- You've got a great look.
0:08:42 > 0:08:43Despite her height,
0:08:43 > 0:08:48this young lady said no to becoming Ross's next top model.
0:08:51 > 0:08:53To get modelling work,
0:08:53 > 0:08:56Hannah has to attend auditions for jobs called castings.
0:08:56 > 0:09:00Castings can be with clients or photographers.
0:09:02 > 0:09:04You have to do them to get the work.
0:09:04 > 0:09:08So if you don't cast, then you don't...you don't work.
0:09:08 > 0:09:12Hannah can attend up to 30 castings a month.
0:09:12 > 0:09:15It can be meeting one person or going to one casting
0:09:15 > 0:09:17that can open a whole load of doors for you.
0:09:17 > 0:09:20- 'Hello?'- Hi, it's Hannah from Next.
0:09:20 > 0:09:23- 'Hi, come in.'- Thanks.
0:09:23 > 0:09:26Today, Hannah's meeting a photographer casting for
0:09:26 > 0:09:29fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar.
0:09:30 > 0:09:33She has no idea how many other girls
0:09:33 > 0:09:35she'll be competing with for this job.
0:09:38 > 0:09:41- Hi.- Hey.- Hi. Hannah. - How are you?
0:09:41 > 0:09:44'You do end up in some weird places, especially for castings.'
0:09:44 > 0:09:48And you kind of see a couple of, like, tall girls dressed in black,
0:09:48 > 0:09:52usually, and you think, "This must be the door."
0:09:52 > 0:09:55So, let's have a look at your book.
0:09:55 > 0:09:58Photographer Anthony has a good look at Hannah's portfolio,
0:09:58 > 0:10:00but isn't giving much away.
0:10:00 > 0:10:02Is it for shoots, or...?
0:10:02 > 0:10:04- Er...- ..just general...
0:10:04 > 0:10:08I've got a bit of a mixed bag on at the moment, really.
0:10:08 > 0:10:11- And after a few test shots... - Really nice. Beautiful ones.
0:10:11 > 0:10:13..it's over.
0:10:13 > 0:10:15All right, I'll show you out. Amazing.
0:10:20 > 0:10:24Unfortunately, this casting doesn't lead to any work for Hannah.
0:10:26 > 0:10:28It is disappointing.
0:10:28 > 0:10:32You can't help but think that's cos they didn't like me or they didn't...
0:10:32 > 0:10:37It is, but then you have to think that's just because you're maybe not
0:10:37 > 0:10:42right for that season or that particular advertising campaign
0:10:42 > 0:10:44or that shoot.
0:10:44 > 0:10:47To improve Hannah's chances of getting a casting
0:10:47 > 0:10:51for a big billboard campaign or TV commercial,
0:10:51 > 0:10:54the agency has decided to update Hannah's portfolio,
0:10:54 > 0:10:56or "book" as it's known.
0:10:56 > 0:10:59Hannah, do you want to come over?
0:10:59 > 0:11:02The better Hannah's book looks, the better her chances of
0:11:02 > 0:11:03getting that big job.
0:11:05 > 0:11:08The VIP Person in charge of Hannah's book,
0:11:08 > 0:11:13and managing her modelling contracts, is agent Sara Jackson.
0:11:13 > 0:11:17It's nice when you're going out on castings that the clients can see
0:11:17 > 0:11:21some new pictures and can see that you've been really busy working.
0:11:24 > 0:11:28With a list of fashion contacts as long as a model's legs,
0:11:28 > 0:11:31it's up to Sarah to find Hannah modelling work.
0:11:31 > 0:11:34When clients request a model with Hannah's look,
0:11:34 > 0:11:36Sara sends her out to a casting
0:11:36 > 0:11:39and organises her diary once shoots are booked in.
0:11:44 > 0:11:46Sara studied photography in Australia
0:11:46 > 0:11:48and decided to become a model agent
0:11:48 > 0:11:51after meeting other model agents in London.
0:11:51 > 0:11:54My main job, really, is to marry the models with the right clients
0:11:54 > 0:11:57and to make sure their career is going in the right direction.
0:11:58 > 0:12:00Sara's been an agent for 12 years
0:12:00 > 0:12:06and manages the work of 80 girls at the agency, including Hannah.
0:12:06 > 0:12:08So this is Hannah's diary, basically.
0:12:08 > 0:12:11All this red means confirmed jobs.
0:12:11 > 0:12:14The yellow is when a client has called and said that they might
0:12:14 > 0:12:16possibly want to book a model for that shoot.
0:12:16 > 0:12:19Today, Sara's called Hannah in to discuss her book.
0:12:19 > 0:12:23So these are all the books of all the girls we represent.
0:12:23 > 0:12:24We have them here in alphabetical order.
0:12:24 > 0:12:27And it's so important to get new pictures bercause the clients
0:12:27 > 0:12:29need to see the girls are busy and working,
0:12:29 > 0:12:31updating the book all the time.
0:12:31 > 0:12:35So what I thought we'd do is keep that one to start
0:12:35 > 0:12:38and then get these right up at the front.
0:12:38 > 0:12:39So if we take those ones out.
0:12:39 > 0:12:42It's always good to have a profile shot on the right side
0:12:42 > 0:12:45and on the left side it's good to have something that shows your body
0:12:45 > 0:12:46and your long legs.
0:12:46 > 0:12:49And I think we'll finish with that, because that's really strong.
0:12:49 > 0:12:51What we would really like Hannah to be doing
0:12:51 > 0:12:53are some nice high street campaigns
0:12:53 > 0:12:56and also some hair and beauty campaigns.
0:12:56 > 0:12:58And in order to get to that we need
0:12:58 > 0:13:00a few more beauty shoots in her book.
0:13:00 > 0:13:02But how does Hannah's book compare
0:13:02 > 0:13:05with one of the agency's more established models?
0:13:05 > 0:13:08So Arizona's one of our top models.
0:13:08 > 0:13:11This is a book full of British Vogue...
0:13:11 > 0:13:13French Vogue...
0:13:13 > 0:13:15American Vogue...
0:13:15 > 0:13:17Italian Vogue.
0:13:17 > 0:13:21Hannah's book will hopefully look like this in two years' time.
0:13:21 > 0:13:23- Sara? - SHE CHUCKLES
0:13:23 > 0:13:26Before Hannah's book can be sent out to clients,
0:13:26 > 0:13:28the new pictures require a final polish,
0:13:28 > 0:13:33which is where technology wizard, and the next of our VIP People,
0:13:33 > 0:13:35Christian Tucker comes in.
0:13:35 > 0:13:38I've always been interested in art and creativity.
0:13:38 > 0:13:41I think photography's obviously just another medium,
0:13:41 > 0:13:43a way of expressing that.
0:13:46 > 0:13:51As Head of Imaging, Christian uses the latest photography software
0:13:51 > 0:13:54to enhance the photos in Hannah's portfolio.
0:13:54 > 0:13:58By removing pesky pimples or brightening up a bad hair day,
0:13:58 > 0:14:00Christian makes digital improvements
0:14:00 > 0:14:03to ensure Hannah's book is picture perfect.
0:14:07 > 0:14:10Christian started work in a photography studio
0:14:10 > 0:14:12and found the job he loved
0:14:12 > 0:14:15when he discovered the creative world of photography apps.
0:14:15 > 0:14:18At the agency, he is in charge
0:14:18 > 0:14:22of over 200,000 digital images of models.
0:14:22 > 0:14:24What we do here is anything image-related
0:14:24 > 0:14:25goes through this room.
0:14:26 > 0:14:30His job involves everything from posting pics on the website
0:14:30 > 0:14:33to removing unwanted hair from a shot.
0:14:33 > 0:14:35One of the bookers might point out to me
0:14:35 > 0:14:39that these strands of hair could do with removing.
0:14:39 > 0:14:45I'll literally source a point of the skin which is looking good,
0:14:45 > 0:14:49and basically clone it over the hair to remove it.
0:14:49 > 0:14:51That one.
0:14:51 > 0:14:53It's up to Christian and his computer software
0:14:53 > 0:14:57to make sure Hannah's new shots look their best for her book.
0:14:57 > 0:15:00- So should we mock up a new card? - Yep.- Perfect.
0:15:00 > 0:15:03The "card" is an image with Hannah's measurements on it,
0:15:03 > 0:15:05from height to shoe size.
0:15:06 > 0:15:09Christian has to re-size and re-touch the card
0:15:09 > 0:15:12until it's exactly how Sara wants it.
0:15:12 > 0:15:13I'd like it a bit tighter.
0:15:13 > 0:15:14OK.
0:15:14 > 0:15:17- That looks quite nice. - Yeah.
0:15:17 > 0:15:18We might need to decide whether
0:15:18 > 0:15:20we want that image to be black and white,
0:15:20 > 0:15:22whether it would look better in colour,
0:15:22 > 0:15:24whether we'll be cropping it.
0:15:24 > 0:15:29Maybe the model has had a bad skin blemish that day on the shoots
0:15:29 > 0:15:31and we'd obviously take that out
0:15:31 > 0:15:33because we want the model to be looking her best.
0:15:34 > 0:15:37- Maybe if we enlarge a tiny bit? - Yeah, sure.
0:15:38 > 0:15:43The only editing that goes on here is just to take out a spot.
0:15:43 > 0:15:46Here it's very, very basic touch-ups.
0:15:46 > 0:15:48Yeah, I think that looks great!
0:15:48 > 0:15:49Really nice.
0:15:49 > 0:15:52Thanks to Sara's vision and Christian's talent,
0:15:52 > 0:15:53Hannah has a new and improved book
0:15:53 > 0:15:56to take to those all-important castings.
0:15:56 > 0:15:58It's black and white, and colour.
0:15:58 > 0:15:59Great, we'll send it to print then.
0:15:59 > 0:16:01100 hard copies.
0:16:04 > 0:16:06- Amazing.- Thank you.- Job done.
0:16:08 > 0:16:12Model Hannah Cooper wants to make the move from catalogue model
0:16:12 > 0:16:14to face of a big high street brand.
0:16:14 > 0:16:16But competition is tough
0:16:16 > 0:16:19and Hannah still hasn't had that dream casting call.
0:16:19 > 0:16:23While her VIP People push her new portfolio,
0:16:23 > 0:16:28it's up to Hannah to keep her body toned and perfectly posed.
0:16:28 > 0:16:30So can her VIP team crack
0:16:30 > 0:16:33that career changing, high profile campaign?
0:16:40 > 0:16:42Since updating Hannah's book,
0:16:42 > 0:16:47Sara's been trying to get Hannah castings for a major poster campaign
0:16:47 > 0:16:48or TV commercial.
0:16:48 > 0:16:51She's meeting a really important photographer this afternoon
0:16:51 > 0:16:53who's got an editorial coming up in a few weeks.
0:16:53 > 0:16:55I'm really hoping she gets that.
0:16:55 > 0:16:57An editorial is a magazine shoot
0:16:57 > 0:17:01which could mean more impressive photos for Hannah's book.
0:17:02 > 0:17:03# I love London...#
0:17:03 > 0:17:07But dashing round London on castings can be a slog.
0:17:07 > 0:17:10It can just be tiring.
0:17:10 > 0:17:13Just from one place to the other. The whole time.
0:17:13 > 0:17:17And it's not always easy to find the locations.
0:17:18 > 0:17:20Wrong door.
0:17:20 > 0:17:22Down that way.
0:17:22 > 0:17:25While Hannah pounds London's pavements looking for work,
0:17:25 > 0:17:29higher profile models have work looking for them.
0:17:29 > 0:17:33At the agency, Sara's tackling two clients
0:17:33 > 0:17:36who want the same model on the same day.
0:17:36 > 0:17:40I've basically got another client ready to confirm on the 31st.
0:17:40 > 0:17:42It's in Milan and they're ready to confirm
0:17:42 > 0:17:45and it's a really big-money job.
0:17:45 > 0:17:48It's quite a juggling act to make sure that the
0:17:48 > 0:17:50models are free for the right jobs.
0:17:50 > 0:17:52Amazing. OK.
0:17:54 > 0:17:57While other models are doubly in demand,
0:17:57 > 0:18:00Hannah is still looking for her next big break.
0:18:00 > 0:18:02Could this casting be the one?
0:18:08 > 0:18:10- Very nice. - Thank you.
0:18:10 > 0:18:14Just like last time, it's difficult to judge how it's going.
0:18:14 > 0:18:19- That's it.- Cool. - Thank you very much.- Thank you.
0:18:20 > 0:18:23They don't give much away. They're probably up there now talking,
0:18:23 > 0:18:27saying something that...
0:18:27 > 0:18:30Either that they loved me or didn't think that they were right.
0:18:30 > 0:18:33Like, I was right for them or... You just don't know.
0:18:36 > 0:18:40Once again, there's no offer of work for Hannah.
0:18:40 > 0:18:45That big high street campaign or TV commercial is still just a dream.
0:18:45 > 0:18:48But rejection is all part of a model's life.
0:18:49 > 0:18:52It is an industry where it is face value
0:18:52 > 0:18:55and you are judged on the way you look but...
0:18:56 > 0:18:58It's... You've got to keep strong
0:18:58 > 0:19:01and not take it to heart and just carry on.
0:19:01 > 0:19:04It's Ross's job to teach the models
0:19:04 > 0:19:08how to cope when their face doesn't fit.
0:19:08 > 0:19:12The biggest stress of the job - the one I feel the most of the time -
0:19:12 > 0:19:16is that you're responsible for their health and their happiness.
0:19:16 > 0:19:19And, ultimately, their future careers.
0:19:21 > 0:19:22Just as he does with Hannah,
0:19:22 > 0:19:27today Ross is showing some new models a few tricks of the trade.
0:19:27 > 0:19:30Slightly exaggerate your posture,
0:19:30 > 0:19:34so your back is coming further back than it normally would.
0:19:34 > 0:19:36Take your arm out and drop it.
0:19:36 > 0:19:38So you'll be...from the side,
0:19:38 > 0:19:41and take your body quite far down, almost as if...
0:19:41 > 0:19:45Ross taught me how to walk. Walk a catwalk.
0:19:45 > 0:19:48Keep your eyes... Keep your chin down and eyes to camera.
0:19:48 > 0:19:52And it just... The angle and the lighting works better.
0:19:52 > 0:19:56The best models are the girls who move very naturally.
0:19:56 > 0:20:00You can teach the girls a variety of moves,
0:20:00 > 0:20:03but the girls who do exceptionally well in the industry,
0:20:03 > 0:20:04girls like Hannah, are the girls
0:20:04 > 0:20:07who are naturally aware of their bodies,
0:20:07 > 0:20:11they know how to stand, they know how to make clothes look good.
0:20:14 > 0:20:17Most models need some help to stay looking good.
0:20:20 > 0:20:24To maintain her model shape, Hannah manages her diet and fitness
0:20:24 > 0:20:27with the help of our next VIP Person,
0:20:27 > 0:20:29personal trainer Jon Callaway.
0:20:34 > 0:20:38Personal trainer Jon keeps Hannah's physique in model condition.
0:20:38 > 0:20:42He advises her on what to eat and how to exercise.
0:20:42 > 0:20:44Jon works on Hannah's stamina and posture
0:20:44 > 0:20:49so her body will deliver quality poses at the start and end
0:20:49 > 0:20:51of a long day's shoot.
0:20:54 > 0:20:58Jon wanted to be a PE teacher but found the world of physical training
0:20:58 > 0:21:01more suited to his personality.
0:21:01 > 0:21:03I've always been active, but as soon as I went
0:21:03 > 0:21:07into the gym environment, it kind of took hold of me a bit.
0:21:07 > 0:21:09It was like I was naturally supposed
0:21:09 > 0:21:12to be training and working out in the gym.
0:21:12 > 0:21:16Jon aims to get Hannah into the gym three to four times a week.
0:21:16 > 0:21:17When I train her in the gym,
0:21:17 > 0:21:21we focus on her posture and structural balance with her hips.
0:21:21 > 0:21:24Make sure her body's conditioned - that it looks good on camera.
0:21:24 > 0:21:27But Hannah sometimes needs persuading.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29It's just trying to drag her - get her in.
0:21:29 > 0:21:31I get her in certain days.
0:21:31 > 0:21:34I'll say, get into the gym, we'll do this,
0:21:34 > 0:21:36as soon as you're done, you'll feel much better.
0:21:36 > 0:21:37There, hold it from there.
0:21:37 > 0:21:41Squeeze your glutes, power up, belly button in, control it down.
0:21:41 > 0:21:42He works me hard. He makes me sweat.
0:21:42 > 0:21:45But then I'm probably one of the easiest clients, either.
0:21:45 > 0:21:46I am quite moany.
0:21:46 > 0:21:49Today, Hannah's made it to the gym,
0:21:49 > 0:21:52and Jon's doing an exercise to improve her posture.
0:21:52 > 0:21:54One of them is bird dog.
0:21:54 > 0:21:56It's for when she's standing all day.
0:21:56 > 0:22:00There's a lot of pressure with her so tall, and her posture's bad,
0:22:00 > 0:22:01so we try and pull in that core,
0:22:01 > 0:22:05try and make sure her lower back is strong enough to hold her upright.
0:22:05 > 0:22:09Left arm out. Hold from there. Pull that in, in... Hold there.
0:22:09 > 0:22:12The fashion industry has been criticised for sometimes using
0:22:12 > 0:22:15models that look too skinny.
0:22:15 > 0:22:20So what exactly does Hannah think the perfect model body is?
0:22:20 > 0:22:24It's more about definition. It's not necessarily being skinny,
0:22:24 > 0:22:30it's more having muscle definition and making sure you're just toned.
0:22:30 > 0:22:35And a good healthy size, rather than too skinny or anything like that.
0:22:36 > 0:22:39Hannah also believes that how
0:22:39 > 0:22:42she treats her insides affects her outside.
0:22:42 > 0:22:44If you're going to eat rubbish, you're going to feel rubbish,
0:22:44 > 0:22:47and you're going to look rubbish.
0:22:47 > 0:22:51But there's a difference between what Jon tells her to eat...
0:22:51 > 0:22:55I base her meals around oats and protein.
0:22:55 > 0:22:56..and what she likes to eat.
0:22:57 > 0:23:02I'd rather have pick and mix, marshmallows and cakes and biscuits.
0:23:02 > 0:23:04Once a week. Once a week. No more than once a week.
0:23:04 > 0:23:07So is Hannah's fridge a fun-free zone?
0:23:07 > 0:23:10Fridge... So, what a model eats.
0:23:11 > 0:23:14This is just my own food-shopping for the moment.
0:23:14 > 0:23:17So porridge, milk and one apple.
0:23:21 > 0:23:26Back at the office the hard work of Hannah's agent Sara has paid off.
0:23:26 > 0:23:29There's good news about a recent casting
0:23:29 > 0:23:33for a TV advert promoting clothing label Missguided.
0:23:33 > 0:23:35Just got off the phone to Missguided
0:23:35 > 0:23:37and they said the test TV commercial shoot
0:23:37 > 0:23:39they did with Hannah went really, really well.
0:23:39 > 0:23:41And she's been booked for the TV commercial.
0:23:41 > 0:23:43Which is amazing! She's going to be so happy.
0:23:43 > 0:23:48Missguided saw Hannah's book and invited her to a casting.
0:23:48 > 0:23:50Out of the 150 girls they saw,
0:23:50 > 0:23:54it was her they chose to model their clothes for a TV advert.
0:23:55 > 0:23:59I didn't really think much of it at the time, I just had to dance.
0:23:59 > 0:24:03It was really quick, five minutes, they looked through your book.
0:24:03 > 0:24:07And then that was it. And I found out today through email.
0:24:09 > 0:24:12While Hannah's catalogue work is only seen on websites,
0:24:12 > 0:24:17this advert will be shown on E4 and ITV2 between programmes
0:24:17 > 0:24:20like The Only Way is Essex.
0:24:20 > 0:24:23This is the big campaign Hannah's been hoping for,
0:24:23 > 0:24:27but she'll be facing new modelling challenges.
0:24:27 > 0:24:28This shoot's all about movement.
0:24:28 > 0:24:31She'll have to do lots of jumping around, lots of music -
0:24:31 > 0:24:33she's going to have to dance.
0:24:33 > 0:24:38Can Hannah succeed in a shoot where she'll be out of her comfort zone?
0:24:40 > 0:24:44It's 7am, and Hannah is at a studio in Manchester
0:24:44 > 0:24:49for the filming of her first television commercial.
0:24:49 > 0:24:50- Wow!- Oh, cool!
0:24:50 > 0:24:52As the style team turn up,
0:24:52 > 0:24:55Hannah gets to see what she'll be modelling.
0:24:55 > 0:24:57Oh, my God!
0:24:57 > 0:25:00That is mental!
0:25:00 > 0:25:05They are joking with me that I am going to be wearing them, so...
0:25:05 > 0:25:08I'm mentally preparing myself. I'll just walk very slow.
0:25:08 > 0:25:12To make the shoot even trickier,
0:25:12 > 0:25:14the floor she's filming on is very slippy,
0:25:14 > 0:25:19and the director wants Hannah to perform high-energy dance moves.
0:25:19 > 0:25:21Music on, please!
0:25:23 > 0:25:25As the shoot begins,
0:25:25 > 0:25:30it's not just the shoes that are giving Hannah a headache.
0:25:30 > 0:25:32I feel like my brains are shaking in my head -
0:25:32 > 0:25:34going like this all the time.
0:25:34 > 0:25:37- HIGH-PITCHED MUSIC - But thanks to Ross's training,
0:25:37 > 0:25:40Hannah delivers the poses the director's looking for.
0:25:41 > 0:25:44That! Wicked!
0:25:44 > 0:25:46But that's just the first set-up.
0:25:46 > 0:25:48There's still another 10 hours to go.
0:25:48 > 0:25:51But now we're going to go for another outfit change
0:25:51 > 0:25:52and do it all over again.
0:25:54 > 0:25:56There's photos to pose for...
0:25:56 > 0:25:58Bit out of breath.
0:25:58 > 0:26:00Need to get down the gym more!
0:26:00 > 0:26:02..video to shoot...
0:26:02 > 0:26:05What a job!
0:26:05 > 0:26:08- Good to go?- Yeah. - OK, you happy, you guys?- Yep.
0:26:08 > 0:26:13It's time for Hannah to put Jon's personal training into practice.
0:26:13 > 0:26:16After eight hours of dancing in high heels,
0:26:16 > 0:26:19she's still got the stamina to keeping going strong.
0:26:21 > 0:26:24HIGH ENERGY MUSIC
0:26:27 > 0:26:31And her biggest shoot yet ends in success.
0:26:33 > 0:26:34HANNAH LAUGHS
0:26:34 > 0:26:38Poked myself in the eye, then it went in my mouth!
0:26:38 > 0:26:40Wrap! Done.
0:26:40 > 0:26:42Now just a wait to see it on the telly, really.
0:26:42 > 0:26:45She's worked very hard to get where she is today.
0:26:45 > 0:26:48We've worked very hard on her behalf.
0:26:48 > 0:26:51Erm...and it's lovely when that pays off.
0:26:54 > 0:26:57No way I could've done it without Ross scouting me
0:26:57 > 0:27:00and Sara giving me the motivation
0:27:00 > 0:27:03and confidence to be able to do such a job.
0:27:03 > 0:27:06Thanks to the help of all her VIP People,
0:27:06 > 0:27:09Hannah's modelling career has reached new heights,
0:27:09 > 0:27:13and she can look forward to a fabulous fashion future.
