0:04:05 > 0:04:06So he invited them to the Dog House
0:04:06 > 0:04:09to see who's got the oomph to make it to the quarter finals.
0:04:09 > 0:04:12Look at this!
0:04:12 > 0:04:15Three Border collies - now that's amazing.
0:04:15 > 0:04:17I love working with Border collies.
0:04:17 > 0:04:19- How are you guys doing today? ALL:- Good.
0:04:19 > 0:04:24You'll be learning to work as a team with your dogs. We'll need this.
0:04:24 > 0:04:28You're going to be teaching your dogs how to play volleyball.
0:04:30 > 0:04:32For this trick, our dogs are going learn
0:04:32 > 0:04:34to volley the ball over the net.
0:04:34 > 0:04:38At Showtime, the dog that volleys the ball over the net the most times
0:04:38 > 0:04:41will go through to the quarter finals.
0:04:43 > 0:04:47I can see Ice really has her eyes focused on this ball.
0:04:47 > 0:04:50- She is really ready to go, isn't she?- Yeah.
0:04:50 > 0:04:53- I'd like to start with you guys. Are you cool with that?- Yeah.
0:04:53 > 0:04:55She's ready to go.
0:04:55 > 0:04:57Wow! Ice is a natural.
0:04:57 > 0:05:01- Icy! Icy!- Good girl, very good. She did it, right there.
0:05:01 > 0:05:03Obviously, our dogs are going to want to
0:05:03 > 0:05:05go after the ball the second they hit it.
0:05:05 > 0:05:10We need to be a step ahead of them. I'll run back there this time.
0:05:10 > 0:05:12I just want to see...
0:05:15 > 0:05:21Got it! Before she even hit it, I was bolting to make sure I got it.
0:05:21 > 0:05:25It's Jake's turn but, uh-oh, Ice is more interested in biting the ball.
0:05:28 > 0:05:30Ice!
0:05:30 > 0:05:33Looks like Ice has definitely destroyed the first one.
0:05:33 > 0:05:36That's all right - the first of many casualties. We're ALWAYS prepared.
0:05:36 > 0:05:39Luckily, the Dog House has its own never-ending supply
0:05:39 > 0:05:41of new balls to destroy.
0:05:41 > 0:05:44I think you guys are ready to get right into this.
0:05:44 > 0:05:47Take Ice off leash and start practising over the net.
0:05:47 > 0:05:49I'm going to work with James and Delta over here.
0:05:49 > 0:05:52Hi, Delta. How are you? Good!
0:05:52 > 0:05:55If you want to take her off leash, you saw what we did there.
0:05:55 > 0:05:57- Delta, sit!- That's perfect.
0:05:59 > 0:06:00Totally ready.
0:06:01 > 0:06:03Whoa!
0:06:03 > 0:06:06Go, Zak, you need to be quicker than that to catch up with Delta!
0:06:06 > 0:06:10The second of many casualties!
0:06:10 > 0:06:12Look at the focus here. That's what I love -
0:06:12 > 0:06:15traditionally, most Border collies are very focused.
0:06:15 > 0:06:19When they're that focused, you can teach them almost anything.
0:06:19 > 0:06:22Hmm, can you teach them to stop biting all the balls?!
0:06:23 > 0:06:26And the third of many casualties!
0:06:26 > 0:06:29Oh, she got that one too! Yeah, right on the first pop.
0:06:29 > 0:06:33Here's another ball. If you want to chill out for a second,
0:06:33 > 0:06:37let's go over here and see what Isaac and Barney can do.
0:06:37 > 0:06:40- Tell me how you're feeling about this.- Quite nervous, to be honest.
0:06:40 > 0:06:42Why are you feeling nervous?
0:06:42 > 0:06:46Because those guys were brilliant and I'm not sure about Barney.
0:06:46 > 0:06:50- That's OK. That's what this is all about. Is he good off leash?- Yeah.
0:06:50 > 0:06:53Let him focus on the ball so you can get his attention.
0:06:53 > 0:06:57Very nice. Just go in your own time. Be as mobile as you need to be.
0:06:57 > 0:06:59That's perfect. Go ahead. Go on.
0:06:59 > 0:07:02- And go! Ah, no...- Very good!
0:07:02 > 0:07:05This is such a great activity to do with your dog
0:07:05 > 0:07:09to encourage them to stay focused on you.
0:07:09 > 0:07:12Very good. Look at this! What are you worried about?
0:07:12 > 0:07:14Very good. Stay!
0:07:14 > 0:07:17Wow, Barney was brilliant!
0:07:17 > 0:07:19As long as Isaac can keep him focused,
0:07:19 > 0:07:22they will have nothing to worry about.
0:07:22 > 0:07:24This trick perfectly illustrates
0:07:24 > 0:07:27how mutually enjoyable a flashy trick can be to teach.
0:07:27 > 0:07:29And whenever we enjoy something,
0:07:29 > 0:07:32we can guarantee the end results will be amazing.
0:07:32 > 0:07:35- Keep up the good work, guys. - Barney, come here!
0:07:39 > 0:07:42We can all be a little melodramatic from time to time
0:07:42 > 0:07:45but here are some dogs that take drama to the next level.
0:07:49 > 0:07:51Dogs just want to be stars
0:07:51 > 0:07:54and will do anything to get noticed.
0:07:54 > 0:07:56And I mean anything!
0:08:01 > 0:08:04But to achieve stardom demands sacrifice.
0:08:10 > 0:08:14Like all stars, dogs can sometimes be a little temperamental...
0:08:16 > 0:08:19..and extremely demanding.
0:08:21 > 0:08:24Some dogs really want to be on television.
0:08:27 > 0:08:30Others are happy just to watch it.
0:08:33 > 0:08:36Still to come, Zak's Quick Trick
0:08:36 > 0:08:40and the teams battle it out as they rally to reach the quarter-finals.
0:08:40 > 0:08:43The winner of today's challenge is...
0:08:49 > 0:08:53In the Dog House garden, the big easy beach balls have been replaced
0:08:53 > 0:08:57by smaller, harder balls and the rivalry is heating up.
0:08:57 > 0:09:00My main competition is Isaac,
0:09:00 > 0:09:04because his dog learns quite quick
0:09:04 > 0:09:05and he's a very good trainer.
0:09:05 > 0:09:07'I really want this place.'
0:09:07 > 0:09:10I want my friends to go, "When did you win that?"
0:09:10 > 0:09:12"Awesome, isn't it? It's from Who Let The Dogs Out."
0:09:12 > 0:09:17Probably my main competition is Jake and Ice.
0:09:17 > 0:09:21They got it from right at the start. I'm a bit worried about that.
0:09:21 > 0:09:24Look at all these Border collies playing volleyball.
0:09:24 > 0:09:28They should probably rename the sport collieball!
0:09:28 > 0:09:30Very good joke, Zak(!)
0:09:30 > 0:09:33Back to the training and it looks like the dogs
0:09:33 > 0:09:36are really getting the hang of those smaller balls.
0:09:36 > 0:09:40Now how do you feel about this one? Is she going to break this one?
0:09:40 > 0:09:42This could still get punctured.
0:09:42 > 0:09:44Good. Feel that? Good. Ready?
0:09:44 > 0:09:46Go ahead.
0:09:46 > 0:09:48Very good.
0:09:48 > 0:09:50Nice work. That's very, very good.
0:09:50 > 0:09:52Let's work on teaching her stay.
0:09:52 > 0:09:55Tell her to stay the second she hits it. Be ready, all right? Ready?
0:09:55 > 0:09:58Ice, Ice, Ice! Wait!
0:09:58 > 0:10:01Get her attention back. Good.
0:10:01 > 0:10:04Now I want to kind of see you do that independently a little bit.
0:10:04 > 0:10:07Let's not do it behind the net though, do it right here
0:10:07 > 0:10:09so, when she hits it... Go ahead.
0:10:09 > 0:10:12- Tell her stay.- Stay!- Good.
0:10:12 > 0:10:16One more time and then we'll move on to James and Delta.
0:10:16 > 0:10:18- Very nice work. - They've mastered the volley,
0:10:18 > 0:10:22but Jake needs to work hard to get Ice to stay.
0:10:22 > 0:10:25Why don't you go and take a rest? Let's bring in James and Delta.
0:10:25 > 0:10:29What you thinking, James? How are you feeling about this?
0:10:29 > 0:10:32- I'm just really scared. - Scared? You're terrified!
0:10:32 > 0:10:34- Don't be terrified.- She's mad.
0:10:34 > 0:10:37Delta has already attacked and burst two balls.
0:10:37 > 0:10:39Will this one survive?
0:10:39 > 0:10:41You want to start with the net or without?
0:10:41 > 0:10:45- I'll start with the net, please. - OK, very good. Very confident.
0:10:45 > 0:10:47AIR HISSING
0:10:47 > 0:10:52Whoa! She definitely got that one. That could be an issue for sure.
0:10:52 > 0:10:57Delta may be focused, but she needs to learn to stop biting the balls.
0:10:57 > 0:11:00Get it! Yes! Good, good! Yes, that's good! Get it!
0:11:00 > 0:11:02That's more like it, Delta!
0:11:02 > 0:11:03That's good! Get the ball.
0:11:03 > 0:11:07The way we're teaching her not to bite it is we have to get lucky
0:11:07 > 0:11:09and hope we get the first volley.
0:11:09 > 0:11:12When we do, let her know. "That's good!"
0:11:12 > 0:11:14When she bites it, you know,
0:11:14 > 0:11:16- it's just, "No!" We stop the game.- OK, yeah.
0:11:16 > 0:11:20But when she volleys it we let her know, "Yes, you're doing terrific."
0:11:20 > 0:11:23We're going to move onto Isaac and Barney. You guys go take a break.
0:11:23 > 0:11:25Zak proved Barney's a natural
0:11:25 > 0:11:27at volleyball when he's focused on playing.
0:11:27 > 0:11:31But will Isaac be able to focus Barney's mind?
0:11:31 > 0:11:33What's this? And go!
0:11:33 > 0:11:36- Good, get the ball. Good, good.- Get back!
0:11:36 > 0:11:39- Good, nice reposition. - Sit! Barney!
0:11:39 > 0:11:41Oh, dear! Barney's got more important things on his mind!
0:11:41 > 0:11:44Go on, Zak. Teach Isaac to keep Barney focused.
0:11:44 > 0:11:47He's going to get the hang of this. Right? Get it!
0:11:47 > 0:11:49Yes! Good, good. Watch it again.
0:11:51 > 0:11:54- Yes, good!- Good boy! - Good boy. Very, very good.
0:11:54 > 0:11:56Notice how I get down here too.
0:11:56 > 0:12:00We're locking eyes and we're making that connection right there.
0:12:00 > 0:12:02It's a really effective way to let him know
0:12:02 > 0:12:04when he's done the right thing.
0:12:04 > 0:12:06Well done Barney, Zak's proved you can do it,
0:12:06 > 0:12:09but it's up to Isaac to keep you focused.
0:12:09 > 0:12:11I want you to practise for the rest of the day
0:12:11 > 0:12:14and we'll see you tomorrow at the Dog House. Keep up the good work.
0:12:14 > 0:12:16- Bye, guys. ALL:- Bye!
0:12:17 > 0:12:20Delta's burst four balls this morning.
0:12:20 > 0:12:24Either we've got to get her teeth filed down or stop her biting it.
0:12:24 > 0:12:27I hope Who Let The Dogs Out? have got spare balls,
0:12:27 > 0:12:29cos they're going to need them!
0:12:29 > 0:12:31The training session went really well.
0:12:31 > 0:12:35Making it to the final would just be amazing.
0:12:35 > 0:12:37Me and Barney could get there.
0:12:37 > 0:12:40There is quite close competition,
0:12:40 > 0:12:42cos the others are doing a great job as well.
0:12:42 > 0:12:46I need to work on her staying on the same side of the net
0:12:46 > 0:12:48so we save time when it's Showtime.
0:12:48 > 0:12:51Ice, Barney and Delta are all Border collies,
0:12:51 > 0:12:53but even dogs of the same breed can be very different.
0:12:53 > 0:12:55Let's see how they all compare.
0:12:55 > 0:12:59Delta is a Border collie and she's two years old.
0:12:59 > 0:13:03Border collies tend to be full of energy and Delta's no exception.
0:13:03 > 0:13:06In her spare time Delta, loves chasing the vacuum cleaner!
0:13:06 > 0:13:09James loves to train Delta every day
0:13:09 > 0:13:11so she can improve her skills.
0:13:11 > 0:13:13Let's hope they keep that up!
0:13:13 > 0:13:16Barney is a one-year-old collie cross,
0:13:16 > 0:13:18which means he's a mix of collie and other dogs.
0:13:18 > 0:13:21He's the youngest collie here today and according to Isaac,
0:13:21 > 0:13:24he learns things very quickly.
0:13:24 > 0:13:27Cross-bred dogs tend to be intelligent and versatile,
0:13:27 > 0:13:29so will this give Barney the edge over the other two?
0:13:29 > 0:13:31Next up, we have Ice
0:13:31 > 0:13:34who is a two-year-old red merle Border collie.
0:13:34 > 0:13:36She really is as cool as ice
0:13:36 > 0:13:39and loves sausages, cheese and tennis balls.
0:13:39 > 0:13:42But not at the same time, of course! That would be disgusting!
0:13:42 > 0:13:45Border collies are usually very clever dogs,
0:13:45 > 0:13:49but will Ice learn to love volleyballs as much as tennis balls?
0:13:54 > 0:13:58It's day two and only one of our three teams can make it
0:13:58 > 0:14:01through to the quarter finals. The pressure is on!
0:14:01 > 0:14:05Look at all these volleying dogs. You guys are doing fantastic!
0:14:05 > 0:14:07Wonderful work.
0:14:07 > 0:14:09I'd like to work with you individually over here.
0:14:09 > 0:14:12Keep working over here, Jake and Ice.
0:14:12 > 0:14:14- James and Delta, let's see what you've got.- Bop it!
0:14:14 > 0:14:17- Good girl!- Very, very good!
0:14:17 > 0:14:20Wow! 24 hours ago, Delta was biting that ball.
0:14:20 > 0:14:23- But look at this team now! - Good, keep it going.
0:14:23 > 0:14:27- She's ready.- OK. Ooh! - Now, discourage that.
0:14:27 > 0:14:29Oh, Delta's back to her old habits.
0:14:29 > 0:14:31Take the ball, ask for the lie down.
0:14:31 > 0:14:34- Lie down.- Stay, stay.
0:14:34 > 0:14:3630 seconds. No playing for 30 seconds.
0:14:36 > 0:14:40Time-outs don't really need to be long in order to be effective.
0:14:40 > 0:14:4230 seconds is a brilliant time.
0:14:42 > 0:14:45I don't want to take away from the fact that Delta's doing well.
0:14:45 > 0:14:48That's normal. Don't be discouraged. It's just part of teaching.
0:14:48 > 0:14:51Does that make sense? We'll move on to Isaac and Barney.
0:14:51 > 0:14:53Yesterday, Barney's attention
0:14:53 > 0:14:56was all over the place. Can Zak help Isaac to hold his focus today?
0:14:56 > 0:14:58Get Barney more interested in you.
0:14:58 > 0:15:02The way to do that is to be more engaging, be more excited.
0:15:02 > 0:15:04Show us how it's done, Zak!
0:15:04 > 0:15:07Hey, Barney! What's that? Hey, look! What's this?
0:15:07 > 0:15:09Look! And, ready? Ready?
0:15:09 > 0:15:12Get it! Yeah, good job! Good!
0:15:12 > 0:15:14- You see?- Yeah. - I want to see you do that now.
0:15:14 > 0:15:19- Just do it without the net.- Barney, what's this? Good! You ready? Go!
0:15:19 > 0:15:23- Good, yes!- Good boy! - Now get it away, don't let him bite.
0:15:23 > 0:15:26- Let him know that the game goes on all day long when he listens.- Go!
0:15:26 > 0:15:30- Yes!- Good boy! - Ah-ah, don't bite it. Good.
0:15:30 > 0:15:33Well done! Let's hope they can keep that energy up for Showtime.
0:15:33 > 0:15:36Keep working on it and be patient. I'm going to go over here
0:15:36 > 0:15:39to Jake and Ice right now, OK? Keep it up.
0:15:39 > 0:15:41Ice is volleying the balls,
0:15:41 > 0:15:44but yesterday she just wanted to chase after them.
0:15:44 > 0:15:47Back up, back up. Back up.
0:15:47 > 0:15:50Yeah, let her know we're not going to play until you back up.
0:15:50 > 0:15:52- Good girl.- Stay! Good, back up.
0:15:52 > 0:15:54They've still got a lot of work to do.
0:15:54 > 0:15:58Don't throw it until she listens. Good, right there.
0:15:58 > 0:16:00Perfect. Stay! Tell her to stay.
0:16:00 > 0:16:03Jake is working hard, but Ice still wants to chase after the ball.
0:16:03 > 0:16:06- Tell her to stay, back up. - Good girl. Back up.
0:16:06 > 0:16:09Stay completely focused on your dog right now and the game, OK?
0:16:09 > 0:16:11Use a hand signal with "back up."
0:16:11 > 0:16:15Dogs are very responsive to both hand signals and verbal signals.
0:16:15 > 0:16:18- Back up.- Very nice. - Good girl!- Very good.
0:16:18 > 0:16:21Guys, take a break for just a second.
0:16:21 > 0:16:23At Showtime, remember we'll have the net six inches higher,
0:16:23 > 0:16:26so start practising with a higher net.
0:16:26 > 0:16:28You really want to get that rhythm down.
0:16:28 > 0:16:31The most volleys within a minute will be our winner.
0:16:31 > 0:16:35There is a lot of work to do. You have to keep practising with it.
0:16:35 > 0:16:39That's what it takes. All right, keep it fun and keep it energetic.
0:16:39 > 0:16:41That's so critical to having a well-trained dog.
0:16:41 > 0:16:45- All right? We'll see you guys later. Bye! ALL:- Bye!
0:16:45 > 0:16:50So, here are Zak's five steps to teaching your dog how to volleyball.
0:16:50 > 0:16:54One - start with a beach ball as they are lighter
0:16:54 > 0:16:57and more difficult for your dog to get their teeth around.
0:16:57 > 0:17:01Two - toss the ball very gently in a slow arching motion
0:17:01 > 0:17:04to encourage your dog to hit it from underneath.
0:17:04 > 0:17:06Three - catch the ball then throw it back to your dog
0:17:06 > 0:17:10so you get a rhythm going and they always hit it back to you.
0:17:10 > 0:17:14Four - teach your dog the rules of the game by taking time out
0:17:14 > 0:17:16if they chase or bite the ball.
0:17:16 > 0:17:19Five - as your dog catches on,
0:17:19 > 0:17:23get quicker at throwing the ball back to them.
0:17:23 > 0:17:25My training session went really well.
0:17:25 > 0:17:29Delta stopped bursting the balls cos we put her on to a foam one
0:17:29 > 0:17:31and she's absolutely brilliant with it.
0:17:31 > 0:17:35I learnt at the session to always keep excited, never get dull.
0:17:35 > 0:17:39Never make it like a chore, cos then he won't do it.
0:17:39 > 0:17:42My training plan is going to work on her backing up
0:17:42 > 0:17:44and going to the same place,
0:17:44 > 0:17:49and just getting her to hit it back to me, not just over the net.
0:17:51 > 0:17:55The reason we teach our dogs tricks isn't because we have to,
0:17:55 > 0:17:59it's because dogs are smart and they need that mental stimulation.
0:17:59 > 0:18:00Come on in, Nelly!
0:18:04 > 0:18:05Hey, girl! What's up?
0:18:05 > 0:18:08Now, today's trick is a really, really cute trick.
0:18:08 > 0:18:11I like to call it Crossed Paws. Lie down.
0:18:11 > 0:18:14If your dog knows how to lie down and give you their paw,
0:18:14 > 0:18:16they're off to a great start.
0:18:16 > 0:18:21OK, Nelly. So, let's try this here. So...yes, good. Very nice!
0:18:21 > 0:18:24Good. In the beginning when we're teaching our dogs something new,
0:18:24 > 0:18:27we want to be very generous with our rewards. Here we go.
0:18:27 > 0:18:30I'm going to encourage her to cross it over by giving me her paw.
0:18:30 > 0:18:33Nelly... Yes, good! Crossed paws. Fantastic.
0:18:33 > 0:18:35Look at that - very good, we're almost there.
0:18:35 > 0:18:37But it gets even cooler - check this out.
0:18:37 > 0:18:43Hey, ready? Crossed paws, good. Now let's try it the other way. Come on.
0:18:43 > 0:18:47Yes, good girl! Very good. She is a sharp dog, isn't she?
0:18:47 > 0:18:50Let's see if she can do it two or three times in a row.
0:18:50 > 0:18:54Crossed paws, good. Other way, good. This way... And this way.
0:18:54 > 0:18:56Crossed paws. Other way, yes, good.
0:18:56 > 0:19:00Nelly, I think you're a wonderful paw crosser.
0:19:05 > 0:19:07Some dogs have truly incredible stories.
0:19:07 > 0:19:11I was amazed by this next one and I think you will be too.
0:19:14 > 0:19:18Watch out bad guys of Britain, this is a police dog -
0:19:18 > 0:19:22Obi and his handler, Police Constable Phil Wells.
0:19:22 > 0:19:25Obi walks the beat in Central London and he's part of a team of dogs
0:19:25 > 0:19:29who specialise in looking after large crowds,
0:19:29 > 0:19:32helping police to arrest anyone trying to cause trouble. Ouch!
0:19:32 > 0:19:35Don't worry, this is just a training exercise -
0:19:35 > 0:19:39no real bad guys were hurt in the making of this film.
0:19:39 > 0:19:42But when Obi hurt his head in the line of duty,
0:19:42 > 0:19:44PC Wells thought he was going to lose him.
0:19:44 > 0:19:49When I realised the severity of it, I was absolutely devastated.
0:19:49 > 0:19:53He's my best friend and colleague, and everything rolled into one.
0:19:53 > 0:19:55Obi's life was in danger,
0:19:55 > 0:19:58but thankfully the vets were able to treat him
0:19:58 > 0:20:01and in just a few days, Obi was back on the streets.
0:20:01 > 0:20:05Obi was more than happy to carry on.
0:20:05 > 0:20:08I'm really proud of the way that he's come through it.
0:20:12 > 0:20:16Two weeks of intensive volleyball training ends now!
0:20:17 > 0:20:20It's time for our three "volley collies" to go head-to-head.
0:20:25 > 0:20:27Who can keep their eye on the ball?
0:20:27 > 0:20:30I'm very, very, very confident that we can make it through,
0:20:30 > 0:20:32I just need to put the effort in.
0:20:32 > 0:20:35Who can volley their way through to the quarter finals?
0:20:35 > 0:20:38I'm quite nervous cos the competitors are really good,
0:20:38 > 0:20:41but I think me and Barney will pull it through.
0:20:43 > 0:20:45And who will be left chasing their tail?
0:20:45 > 0:20:48I'm feeling pressure cos I don't know what the other two have done
0:20:48 > 0:20:50and how they're getting on.
0:20:52 > 0:20:53It's time to find out!
0:20:54 > 0:20:56It's Showtime for our volley collies
0:20:56 > 0:20:59and THIS is where it's all happening.
0:20:59 > 0:21:02That's the net they're going to be volleying the ball over
0:21:02 > 0:21:05and every time they clear the net they get one point.
0:21:05 > 0:21:08First up, it's James and Delta.
0:21:08 > 0:21:11James struggled at the Dog House to stop Delta from biting the ball.
0:21:12 > 0:21:15He says he's cured this with his home training.
0:21:15 > 0:21:18But has he done enough to secure a place in the quarter finals?
0:21:18 > 0:21:20I just think she's really improved,
0:21:20 > 0:21:24cos we went from her bursting several balls
0:21:24 > 0:21:28to 16 volleys in 30 seconds, I think.
0:21:28 > 0:21:30James, whenever you're ready.
0:21:31 > 0:21:32Got to do good now, Delts.
0:21:32 > 0:21:37Wow! 16 volleys in 30 seconds... This is going to be amazing!
0:21:37 > 0:21:39First point, well done.
0:21:41 > 0:21:44Whoa! That was a high one. Straight over James' head.
0:21:44 > 0:21:46That'll slow him down.
0:21:46 > 0:21:48Oh, stay behind the net, Delta!
0:21:48 > 0:21:51Come on, you two. You can do it.
0:21:51 > 0:21:53Bop!
0:21:53 > 0:21:54Bop!
0:21:55 > 0:21:57That's it! Those points are rolling in now.
0:21:59 > 0:22:00That was his fault.
0:22:00 > 0:22:01No, leave it.
0:22:01 > 0:22:03Oh, Delta's being mischievous,
0:22:03 > 0:22:05she wants to get her teeth into that ball.
0:22:05 > 0:22:10Now she's amongst the cameramen. James doesn't seem to be in a hurry.
0:22:10 > 0:22:13Come on, team, the clock is ticking!
0:22:16 > 0:22:18You all right?
0:22:20 > 0:22:2115 seconds to go.
0:22:23 > 0:22:25Come on, you can get a few more.
0:22:28 > 0:22:29Yes!
0:22:29 > 0:22:30Bop!
0:22:34 > 0:22:37Your time is up, James. That was a very impressive round.
0:22:37 > 0:22:41That's eight scored - not as much as James was hoping for,
0:22:41 > 0:22:44- but have they done enough to get to the next round?- No, you've had it.
0:22:44 > 0:22:47Next up, Isaac and Barney.
0:22:47 > 0:22:49Barney has been distracted during training
0:22:49 > 0:22:52and Isaac has worked really hard to hold his attention.
0:22:52 > 0:22:55But time is now up and if Barney fails to focus during Showtime,
0:22:55 > 0:22:58then they will never make it to the quarter finals.
0:22:58 > 0:23:01Getting into the next round would mean everything.
0:23:01 > 0:23:03It would just be great.
0:23:03 > 0:23:06I think Barney would be quite excited as well.
0:23:06 > 0:23:07Whenever you're ready.
0:23:07 > 0:23:10Barney, ready? In you get. Ready? Ready?
0:23:10 > 0:23:12Come on, Barney,
0:23:12 > 0:23:15you'll never beat James and Delta by sniffing the grass!
0:23:15 > 0:23:19Oh, it's a disastrous start for this team.
0:23:19 > 0:23:22Despite fantastic encouragement from Isaac,
0:23:22 > 0:23:25Barney doesn't have enough power to hit it over the net.
0:23:25 > 0:23:27- Go!- Will they get one this time?
0:23:29 > 0:23:32Oh, YES! Could this be the turning point?
0:23:33 > 0:23:36No, it couldn't, Barney's having a rest instead!
0:23:36 > 0:23:38Barney!
0:23:38 > 0:23:40Come on, the clock is ticking...
0:23:40 > 0:23:42Well done, Isaac, you've got Barney's attention now.
0:23:42 > 0:23:44Good.
0:23:44 > 0:23:45That is three.
0:23:47 > 0:23:51- They seem to be finding a rhythm now.- Clever, boy. Barney, Barney!
0:23:51 > 0:23:55Isaac's really keeping his energy up, just like Zak taught him.
0:23:55 > 0:23:57That's a good boy!
0:23:57 > 0:23:58Clever boy. Barney!
0:23:58 > 0:24:03That's seven - they're so close to beating James and Delta.
0:24:03 > 0:24:05That is eight!
0:24:05 > 0:24:08Can they get one more to put themselves in the lead? Yes!
0:24:08 > 0:24:10Can they keep it going?
0:24:10 > 0:24:14They are into double figures and Isaac is doing fantastically well
0:24:14 > 0:24:16to keep Barney focused.
0:24:16 > 0:24:18Can they get one more?
0:24:20 > 0:24:21Your time is up.
0:24:21 > 0:24:24They've smashed James and Delta's score,
0:24:24 > 0:24:27BUT will that be enough to take them through to the quarter finals?
0:24:27 > 0:24:29Next up, Jake and Ice.
0:24:29 > 0:24:31In training, Ice has seemed more interested
0:24:31 > 0:24:34in chasing AFTER the balls than volleying them over the net.
0:24:34 > 0:24:37This could cost them valuable time,
0:24:37 > 0:24:39so they will need to pick up the pace.
0:24:39 > 0:24:43I don't have a game plan because we just go with it
0:24:43 > 0:24:46and see what we can do and try our best.
0:24:47 > 0:24:48Whenever you guys are ready.
0:24:52 > 0:24:53And they're off!
0:24:53 > 0:24:56- It's a great start from Jake and Ice.- Ice, back up!
0:24:56 > 0:25:00They are making this look easy-peasy!
0:25:04 > 0:25:06Jake's fast pace is keeping Ice behind the net -
0:25:06 > 0:25:08just like Zak taught him!
0:25:09 > 0:25:11That is eight already!
0:25:11 > 0:25:15They're volleying their competition well and truly out of the park!

0:25:28 > 0:25:29Ice, back up. Ice, back up.
0:25:31 > 0:25:33Back up.
0:25:33 > 0:25:35Ice, back up. Ice, back up.
0:25:40 > 0:25:42Look at the determination on Jake's face -
0:25:42 > 0:25:44this pair could represent Britain
0:25:44 > 0:25:46in the Volley Collie World Championships!
0:25:52 > 0:25:55Whoa, super quick! This takes real skill.
0:25:56 > 0:25:59Your time is up. Really, really nice score.
