0:01:24 > 0:01:27are going to have their patience pushed to the limit

0:01:27 > 0:01:31with a very challenging stunt. Let's see them in action at the try-outs.

0:01:34 > 0:01:38Young dog trainers came to the try-outs from across the UK,

0:01:38 > 0:01:42desperate to get to the Dog House for a chance to win the Top Dog Trainer Trophy.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49First to secure a place for today's challenge

0:01:49 > 0:01:52was a trainer hoping to give her dog a second chance.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56My name is Megan and this is Rocky.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00I really want him to get on because he's been rejected as a guide dog.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02He shouldn't be rejected from this.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03This is Rocky's time to shine.

0:02:03 > 0:02:07- Go ahead and show me what you got. - Fetch!

0:02:07 > 0:02:09- That's what I'm talking about. - OK...

0:02:14 > 0:02:16I think Rocky's going to make it to the Dog House

0:02:16 > 0:02:20because he's just the best dog in the world and he deserves it.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30My name is Katie, I come from Carlisle and this is Danny Boy.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32I love spending time with him, he loves life.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35It'd mean everything to get into the Dog House.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Tall... Walk.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40It's amazing just to get this far but to get to the Dog House,

0:02:40 > 0:02:41that would be more fantastic.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43Yeah, nice work!

0:02:43 > 0:02:46We're going to do this, we'll get it done.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49- Come on then, Dan. - Yeah, he opened it!

0:02:49 > 0:02:52I'm so proud of him for even getting this far.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55Katie and Danny Boy understand each other.

0:02:55 > 0:02:59There was no challenge they couldn't meet. I was impressed with them.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05Zak knew that Katie and Danny Boy and Megan and Rocky

0:03:05 > 0:03:07would be perfect for today's challenge

0:03:07 > 0:03:11but he was less certain about the final team to try out.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14My name's Talia and this is Crystal.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16She's a white German Shepherd.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Explain why you don't want her off leash?

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Sometimes she gets distracted by other things.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28A lot of people would be tempted to take their dog off leash,

0:03:28 > 0:03:31to show they're really obedient,

0:03:31 > 0:03:34but you have an eight-month old dog, she hasn't been taught the rules.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38I'd love to go to the Dog House to teach Crystal new things.

0:03:38 > 0:03:39Good girl.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42I see that she adores you.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45- Nice.- Good girl.- Very good.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47Her dog is still too young, I think,

0:03:47 > 0:03:49to do well on any of the tricks I'm thinking out,

0:03:49 > 0:03:52but you can see that they adore each other.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54That's what having a dog is truly about.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56Absolutely love it!

0:04:00 > 0:04:01# Who let the dogs out? #

0:04:01 > 0:04:05Zak wanted to take a gamble on Talia and Crystal

0:04:05 > 0:04:08so after getting the OK from Crystal's vet, he decided

0:04:08 > 0:04:12they could join the other teams to try out his latest challenge.

0:04:12 > 0:04:13Hiya, guys, get excited!

0:04:13 > 0:04:16We've got a good one today.

0:04:16 > 0:04:20Today we're going to teach your dogs how to stand on two legs

0:04:20 > 0:04:24and push a baby stroller.

0:04:24 > 0:04:27Or, as you call it in the UK, a pram.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31For this trick, the dogs are going to have to learn

0:04:31 > 0:04:35how to stand on two legs and push the Who Let the Dogs Out pram.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39At Showtime, the team that completes the course in the fastest time

0:04:39 > 0:04:41will go through to the quarter-final.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44# Who let the dogs out? #

0:04:44 > 0:04:46- Are you guys ready to get into training.- Yes!

0:04:46 > 0:04:49Let's do it. Talia, let's start with you,

0:04:49 > 0:04:52let's encourage Crystal to put her paws up here.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54- Let her know that you like that.- Good girl.

0:04:54 > 0:04:58I wasn't expecting her to do it immediately. That was incredible

0:04:58 > 0:05:00and your timing is impeccable. That is beautiful.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Timing is so important.

0:05:02 > 0:05:04The moment our dogs do something we like,

0:05:04 > 0:05:06we let them know instantly, if possible.

0:05:06 > 0:05:10- I want you to keep working on that. Do you know what to do?- Yeah.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13I'm going over to Megan and Rocky and we'll see what we go over here.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15All right, come on over here.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17Oh, Rocky...

0:05:17 > 0:05:20Oh dear, I don't think Rocky's focused on the task in hand.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22- Not again.- We've lost Rocky.

0:05:22 > 0:05:25Looks like Megan might have her work cut out.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28Let's encourage Rocky to put his paws up here.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31Good boy, very good.

0:05:31 > 0:05:35- Drop!- You go ahead and do it.

0:05:35 > 0:05:36Drop...

0:05:36 > 0:05:40Rocky's more interested in his ball than his training. Now what?

0:05:40 > 0:05:41Another ball would work.

0:05:41 > 0:05:45- He just loves balls.- Look at this.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47Do you want this ball? Good, you can have that one.

0:05:47 > 0:05:49- You see what I did there.- Yeah.

0:05:49 > 0:05:51Do you want this ball? Good.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54Very nice, excellent job. I love your timing on the clicker.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58Wondering what a clicker is? Well listen up.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Dog trainers use a clicky thing to tell their dog

0:06:00 > 0:06:02he's done something right.

0:06:02 > 0:06:05They click, give a treat and the dog soon learns

0:06:05 > 0:06:07that a click means a treat is on its way.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10Now calm, calm.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12Put your paws on it. Put your paws on it.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15- Yes!- Good dog!- Very good.

0:06:15 > 0:06:20- Yes, absolutely wonderful. - Good. Ball...

0:06:20 > 0:06:22It's OK.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25I'm going to move onto Katie and Danny Boy. How are we doing?

0:06:25 > 0:06:28I think Rocky could take a leaf out of Danny Boy's book.

0:06:28 > 0:06:29Look at that focus.

0:06:29 > 0:06:30Sit...

0:06:30 > 0:06:33- Tall, push.- Yes, whoa.

0:06:33 > 0:06:34Good boy!

0:06:34 > 0:06:37I'm looking at the way you look at each other

0:06:37 > 0:06:41and it's very mature. I can tell you know what you're doing.

0:06:41 > 0:06:44There's just this very cool, calmness about you,

0:06:44 > 0:06:46- is very impressive with you guys. - Good boy.

0:06:46 > 0:06:48- That is fantastic.- Good boy.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51This trick requires enormous patience

0:06:51 > 0:06:55and these trainers will realise the most challenging part is at the beginning.

0:06:55 > 0:06:59As their dog progresses, they'll have to keep their energy up,

0:06:59 > 0:07:01in order to keep their dogs engaged.

0:07:01 > 0:07:04Guys, keep up the good work, I'll be back in a bit.

0:07:06 > 0:07:08# Who let the dogs out? #

0:07:11 > 0:07:14Megan, Talia and Katie are all getting on pretty well,

0:07:14 > 0:07:17but it's not just us humans who like to make friends.

0:07:17 > 0:07:20Dogs can find friends in the most unlikely places.

0:07:25 > 0:07:27What makes the perfect friend?

0:07:28 > 0:07:31Someone to hug when you're feeling down.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36Someone who always picks out the best bits in you.

0:07:42 > 0:07:46A good friend will stand up for you in the face of huge opposition.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49And best friends share everything.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53Even when they don't really want to.

0:07:56 > 0:07:59Some friends can become too attached.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02But whether large...

0:08:03 > 0:08:06Or small...

0:08:07 > 0:08:09..always show your friends how much you care.

0:08:11 > 0:08:12# Who let the dogs out? #

0:08:14 > 0:08:16Still to come...

0:08:16 > 0:08:18An amazing dog who "nose" how to be a life saver.

0:08:18 > 0:08:22And, as Showtime approaches, the competition is blown wide open.

0:08:22 > 0:08:25I have no idea who is going to win.

0:08:25 > 0:08:27# Who let the dogs out? #

0:08:27 > 0:08:30Now the teams have had a chance to get their dogs used to the pram,

0:08:30 > 0:08:33or "stroller" as Zak calls it,

0:08:33 > 0:08:35it's time for the next stage of training.

0:08:35 > 0:08:39Talia and Crystal, our next step is asking for more and more time.

0:08:39 > 0:08:42I think if you got a little bit more engaging,

0:08:42 > 0:08:44she might do better. Let's do it one more time

0:08:44 > 0:08:48- and we'll see if we can get two steps.- Good girl. Come on.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51- See if we can get her to push it. - Good girl.- That's OK.

0:08:51 > 0:08:54In the early stages, we're still going to reward her on that

0:08:54 > 0:08:57because she's making an effort and it's early.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00We don't want to be stingy with our rewards, early in the training.

0:09:00 > 0:09:03Talia and Crystal still have plenty of work to do.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05Don't treat this time.

0:09:05 > 0:09:07I wonder if Megan's got control of Rocky yet.

0:09:07 > 0:09:09Push it.

0:09:09 > 0:09:11Let's try and get three steps here.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13- I'll tell you when to click. - Put your paws on it.

0:09:13 > 0:09:16- Good boy.- Click... Good.

0:09:16 > 0:09:18That's definitely an improvement from earlier.

0:09:18 > 0:09:21Very nice. Good.

0:09:21 > 0:09:23Let's try it again here. Come on, let's go.

0:09:23 > 0:09:26Yes, good. Look how I'm close to him right here.

0:09:26 > 0:09:27Yes, good. Come on. It's OK.

0:09:27 > 0:09:31Look at that, did you see that extra effort. Yes, very good.

0:09:31 > 0:09:34- Very good, all day long. - Good boy!

0:09:34 > 0:09:36All we did there was get a little bit closer.

0:09:36 > 0:09:40You're comfortable getting close to Rocky's face. This is your pet.

0:09:40 > 0:09:42- You're very comfortable with him. - Yeah.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44So encourage that.

0:09:44 > 0:09:47I'm going to go over here to Danny Boy and Katie.

0:09:47 > 0:09:48See what they're up to.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50I want to see exactly when you're rewarding him.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52- This is a brand new trick to him. - Yeah.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54I'm really looking for that with you.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Come on.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Sit! Tall, push it.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01- Yes! Good boy.- Very good. Exactly, right there.- Good boy.

0:10:01 > 0:10:06Genuine, energy... Now show me some genuine, eye-to-eye, down here.

0:10:08 > 0:10:10- Good boy, yes!- Very nice.

0:10:10 > 0:10:14Guys, you've got one week, take your prams home and good luck to you.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17After day one of training some of the teams are beginning to realise

0:10:17 > 0:10:22that it'll take some seriously hard work to master this trick.

0:10:22 > 0:10:25What Rocky and I are struggling with,

0:10:25 > 0:10:27is he's started pulling me and pulling me.

0:10:27 > 0:10:30I think I'm going to end up with a dislocated shoulder

0:10:30 > 0:10:34by the time I get back home. But, that's dog training for you.

0:10:34 > 0:10:37I think if we keep training, the more she'll know it,

0:10:37 > 0:10:39and the better she'll be at it.

0:10:39 > 0:10:43When I get home I'll probably do half an hour in the morning

0:10:43 > 0:10:46and I'll do half an hour in the evening

0:10:46 > 0:10:48and then she'll be better at it.

0:10:48 > 0:10:51My initial reaction was, "Oh, no" when he took off

0:10:51 > 0:10:53the cover on the pram,

0:10:53 > 0:10:56but once he got on it and he was steering and he was pushing it,

0:10:56 > 0:10:58I was really pleased with him.

0:10:58 > 0:11:00I was really happy that I got that trick.

0:11:00 > 0:11:03Danny Boy, Rocky and Crystal are three different dogs.

0:11:03 > 0:11:06Let's see what makes them amazing in their own way.

0:11:06 > 0:11:10Meet Danny Boy, an eight-year-old Bearded Collie.

0:11:10 > 0:11:14Danny Boy was named after Katie's Dad's favourite Irish song.

0:11:14 > 0:11:17Bearded Collies can be fast learners

0:11:17 > 0:11:22so Danny Boy is definitely one to watch in the competition!

0:11:22 > 0:11:24Next up is Rocky.

0:11:24 > 0:11:27Rocky is an eight-year-old Golden Retriever who Megan says

0:11:27 > 0:11:29can be a bit of a drama queen as he pretends to limp

0:11:29 > 0:11:31when he wants sympathy!

0:11:31 > 0:11:34Golden Retrievers are usually very eager to please,

0:11:34 > 0:11:37so Rocky will want to do everything he can to help Megan

0:11:37 > 0:11:39grab that quarter-final place.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42Crystal is a White German Shepherd

0:11:42 > 0:11:45and, at nearly a year old is still just a puppy.

0:11:45 > 0:11:49Crystal loves to swim in the river and go on car rides to parks.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51German Shepherds need lots of stimulation

0:11:51 > 0:11:54and they thrive on challenges, but will Crystal

0:11:54 > 0:11:56be up for this challenge?

0:11:56 > 0:11:58# Who let the dogs out? #

0:12:00 > 0:12:02After a week practising at home,

0:12:02 > 0:12:05the trainers have returned to the Dog House for some final tips

0:12:05 > 0:12:07from Zak before Showtime.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09I think everything is going all right.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11Just when she does it for a while,

0:12:11 > 0:12:13she tends to jump down because she gets tired.

0:12:13 > 0:12:19The problem is, he thinks I'm the pram

0:12:19 > 0:12:24and jumps on me, so that's beginning to get into a problem.

0:12:24 > 0:12:27Danny Boy, I think, is doing too well for his own good.

0:12:27 > 0:12:30So Danny Boy's definitely my biggest competition.

0:12:30 > 0:12:34Danny Boy's got a lot more advanced that I thought he would be.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37At home the training is going fantastically well.

0:12:37 > 0:12:41Danny Boy, he can push it by himself without me touching the pram.

0:12:41 > 0:12:44This is fantastic!

0:12:44 > 0:12:48You guys can practise if you want, or you can watch. That's up to you.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51Megan, tell me how training's been going?

0:12:51 > 0:12:55He's managed to push it a little bit but he's developed a bad habit.

0:12:55 > 0:13:00He jumps on the pram and then tries to climb onto me.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03The way you discouraged that is, "No, that's not right.

0:13:03 > 0:13:06"Go back here, let's do it right."

0:13:06 > 0:13:09- Show me how Rocky is doing, please. - OK. Push, push.

0:13:09 > 0:13:11Push, push, push. Push, push, push.

0:13:11 > 0:13:13Push, push, push.

0:13:13 > 0:13:16Well, Rocky is definitely more focused than last week

0:13:16 > 0:13:20but I think Megan is the one doing all the pushing.

0:13:20 > 0:13:23- Has he been successful on being able to push on his own?- A little bit

0:13:23 > 0:13:26but most of the time I have to push it.

0:13:26 > 0:13:29At Showtime anyone having to help their dog push the trolley

0:13:29 > 0:13:30will incur a time penalty,

0:13:30 > 0:13:34so the dogs need to learn to do it by themselves.

0:13:34 > 0:13:36Let's encourage him to get a running start.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Just a little bit of a running start.

0:13:38 > 0:13:42Just enough to nudge it here.

0:13:42 > 0:13:43- Good.- Good boy.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45Right, good, back again.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47Let's keep this momentum going.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49Right now his energy is holding up well.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52- And there he goes.- Good boy! - Good , much better.

0:13:52 > 0:13:55OK, now stop. At this point, it's time to stop helping him along

0:13:55 > 0:13:58because you've got Showtime in just a few days from now.

0:13:58 > 0:14:00It's time to really go to the next level.

0:14:00 > 0:14:04I'm going to let you guys practise and bring Crystal and Talia in now.

0:14:04 > 0:14:05Keep up the good work.

0:14:05 > 0:14:10- Give him some water and take a break for a minute or two.- Let's go.

0:14:10 > 0:14:13Why don't you guys show me how you've been doing. Go ahead.

0:14:13 > 0:14:14Come...

0:14:16 > 0:14:17Come... Up, up... Good girl.

0:14:17 > 0:14:20Push. Here. Push.

0:14:20 > 0:14:22Push, come on.

0:14:22 > 0:14:25Hmm... not a lot of forward momentum here is there?

0:14:25 > 0:14:27I think, if you were a little more enthusiastic,

0:14:27 > 0:14:30a little more energetic, you would have better results.

0:14:30 > 0:14:33- Does that make sense?- Yeah. - Will you show me that.

0:14:33 > 0:14:35Crystal...

0:14:35 > 0:14:36Here. Good girl.

0:14:36 > 0:14:38Come on. Up. Good girl.

0:14:38 > 0:14:40- Come on.- Be a bit more peppy.

0:14:40 > 0:14:42Good girl. Push, come on.

0:14:42 > 0:14:45Come on, Crystal. Come on. Push. Good girl.

0:14:45 > 0:14:47Good girl. Come on.

0:14:47 > 0:14:51- Lots of energy.- Good girl, Crystal. - Lots of energy, more energy.

0:14:51 > 0:14:54- Come on, Crystal.- Look at that. Come on, Crystal. Come on, baby.

0:14:54 > 0:14:58- Good girl.- You can do it.- Come on, Crystal.- Good girl!

0:14:58 > 0:15:01- Good girl, Crystal. Good girl. - Very, very good work.- Here you are.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03That seemed to do the trick

0:15:03 > 0:15:07but Talia will have to get Crystal more excited to win this.

0:15:07 > 0:15:10You guys have done fantastic. I'm bringing in Katie and Danny Boy.

0:15:10 > 0:15:13You take a rest, OK?

0:15:13 > 0:15:17So, Katie, show me how you've been doing here, I'm really curious.

0:15:17 > 0:15:19You guys were really on fire last week.

0:15:19 > 0:15:22We worked on our position first.

0:15:22 > 0:15:24So, Danny Boy, up.

0:15:25 > 0:15:27Stay, stay.

0:15:27 > 0:15:29Good, very in control.

0:15:29 > 0:15:32Stay, good boy.

0:15:32 > 0:15:35Ready, walk, come on.

0:15:35 > 0:15:40Walk, walk... Yes! Good boy.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42Do you hear that tone she's got right there?

0:15:42 > 0:15:45That is the ideal, most sincere genuine tone

0:15:45 > 0:15:49to have when teaching your dog and you get results quickly.

0:15:49 > 0:15:51Very nice.

0:15:51 > 0:15:55Katie and Danny Boy again showing just what they're capable of.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57Looks like they're the ones to beat at Showtime.

0:15:57 > 0:16:01All right, you've got four days until Showtime.

0:16:01 > 0:16:03You're all doing a fantastic job.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06Get back to work, keep practising and I'll see you at Showtime.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09- Bye, guys. - ALL: Bye.

0:16:09 > 0:16:12Pushing a pram might be easy for most of us, but for a dog

0:16:12 > 0:16:17it requires skill, strength and some very patient training.

0:16:17 > 0:16:21Here are Zak's five steps to teaching your dog to push a pram.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24One, before encouraging your dog onto the pram,

0:16:24 > 0:16:27please ensure there are no actual babies inside.

0:16:27 > 0:16:31Two, using treats, begin to lure your dog forward

0:16:31 > 0:16:33and reward generously.

0:16:33 > 0:16:37Three, employ a running start to gain momentum.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40Four, ignore incorrect behaviour.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43Use plenty of encouragement to keep your dog motivated.

0:16:43 > 0:16:48Five, reduce the rewards and increase the distance.

0:16:48 > 0:16:51Before you know it, your dog will be pram-tastic.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54I'm not sure if we can win Showtime but I think

0:16:54 > 0:16:57if we just give it our all, we might get something out of it.

0:16:57 > 0:17:02If you don't put anything in, you won't get anything out.

0:17:02 > 0:17:06I'm proud of her. I'm surprised how far she's actually gone.

0:17:06 > 0:17:10I think my biggest competition is Danny Boy and Katie.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13It sounds like they're doing really well.

0:17:13 > 0:17:16Danny Boy's improvement has been quite a lot because at home,

0:17:16 > 0:17:21we've practised on tarmac and it's completely different to on grass.

0:17:21 > 0:17:25Today was his very first time doing it unassisted on grass

0:17:25 > 0:17:29and he really surprised me that he could push it unassisted.

0:17:32 > 0:17:36Today I'm going to show you how to teach your dog a fun flashy trick.

0:17:36 > 0:17:39Come on in, Nellie. All right.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42Very good. I'm going to give you a treat.

0:17:42 > 0:17:45I'm going to show you how to teach your dog to weave between your legs.

0:17:45 > 0:17:50Come from a heel position and I'm just going to put her

0:17:50 > 0:17:51on my left side like this.

0:17:51 > 0:17:55I'm going to stand like this and lure her through my legs,

0:17:55 > 0:17:59letting her know I like it. I'm not going to ask too much too early.

0:17:59 > 0:18:04Step forward, again, same thing. Over here. Very good.

0:18:04 > 0:18:08Rewarding along the way. Very good.

0:18:08 > 0:18:14Yes. Good. Look at you, Nellie. Fantastic. Over here.

0:18:14 > 0:18:19Nellie. There we go. Very good. She's doing really well.

0:18:19 > 0:18:23I want to let her know I appreciate she's working really hard.

0:18:23 > 0:18:27Come on, let's start back over here and do it again. Here we go.

0:18:27 > 0:18:32Yes, good. Look at this. Look at her go. Very good.

0:18:32 > 0:18:35Now I'm going to give her a reward. She did it three times.

0:18:35 > 0:18:38I'm being a little less frequent with my rewards.

0:18:38 > 0:18:43Let's try and do it without any rewards until the very end. Nellie.

0:18:46 > 0:18:48Come on.

0:18:52 > 0:18:55Very good! And that's how you teach your dog to weave.

0:18:55 > 0:18:57Just remember to have fun with it.

0:19:00 > 0:19:03Some people say that their dogs make them feel better when they're under

0:19:03 > 0:19:05the weather, but these next dogs

0:19:05 > 0:19:08take that to a completely different level.

0:19:08 > 0:19:11Check out these life-saving doctor dogs.

0:19:12 > 0:19:16Dogs are constantly finding new ways to impress us and now

0:19:16 > 0:19:20they're even turning to medicine to show us just how amazing they are.

0:19:20 > 0:19:24Shirley is not your average pet dog.

0:19:24 > 0:19:29She's also doctor to Rebecca, who has a condition called diabetes.

0:19:29 > 0:19:32Rebecca has to be careful that the sugar levels in her body

0:19:32 > 0:19:37don't drop too low. That is where Shirley comes in.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40My sugar level drops. She senses it.

0:19:40 > 0:19:45Shirley can detect when Rebecca's sugar levels drop,

0:19:45 > 0:19:47using her incredible sense of smell.

0:19:47 > 0:19:51She gives Rebecca a warning lick, then fetches mum to run a test.

0:19:51 > 0:19:54A sugary drink and Rebecca is as good as new.

0:19:54 > 0:19:59Shirley's my best friend. She saves my life.

0:20:02 > 0:20:05Two weeks intensive pram pushing training is over.

0:20:05 > 0:20:08It's time for our three teams to battle it out

0:20:08 > 0:20:10for a place in the quarter-finals.

0:20:11 > 0:20:13After all their hard work,

0:20:13 > 0:20:17two teams will have to leave the competition today.

0:20:17 > 0:20:20The other dogs are getting on really well.

0:20:20 > 0:20:23I've got really good competition with both of them.

0:20:23 > 0:20:25Who has the edge?

0:20:25 > 0:20:28I think it's close. Really close to each other.

0:20:28 > 0:20:31I think it's going to be a good competition.

0:20:31 > 0:20:34Who will push their way to a quarter-final place?

0:20:34 > 0:20:39I'm not really sure. Time will tell. I have no idea who's going to win.

0:20:39 > 0:20:42It is time to find out.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45It's Showtime for our pram pushing dogs

0:20:45 > 0:20:48and this is where it's all going to take place.

0:20:48 > 0:20:51Prams will be positioned at the start of the course.

0:20:51 > 0:20:54Then on the trainers command, the dogs will begin pushing their prams.

0:20:54 > 0:20:58The dog that covers ten metres in the fastest time will be the winner

0:20:58 > 0:21:00and move on to the quarter-finals.

0:21:00 > 0:21:05The teams will have two minutes to complete the course and each team

0:21:05 > 0:21:09will have three chances, but anyone touching the trolley to help

0:21:09 > 0:21:14their dog along will automatically incur a 30 second time penalty.

0:21:14 > 0:21:16First up, Katie and Danny Boy.

0:21:16 > 0:21:20Katie and Danny Boy have been firm favourites from the beginning.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22Katie's communication skills

0:21:22 > 0:21:25and Danny Boy's ability have placed them in the driving seat.

0:21:25 > 0:21:29Another solid performance now and victory will be theirs.

0:21:30 > 0:21:37- Katie and Danny Boy, your time starts now.- Danny, here. Stay.

0:21:37 > 0:21:39Great focus, as always.

0:21:39 > 0:21:41Up, up.

0:21:42 > 0:21:45And they're off.

0:21:45 > 0:21:47Come on, come on.

0:21:47 > 0:21:51Except they're not. This is unexpected.

0:21:51 > 0:21:54They've stalled at the start line.

0:21:54 > 0:21:58Come on, come on, you can do it. Come on.

0:21:58 > 0:22:04Katie is really encouraging him. And rewarding as much as she can.

0:22:04 > 0:22:10But it's no use. After two minutes, the clock finally beat them.

0:22:10 > 0:22:15Your time is up. Good job of keeping it positive, Katie. Nice work.

0:22:15 > 0:22:16Your time starts now.

0:22:16 > 0:22:19They have two chances left to get to the finish.

0:22:19 > 0:22:21Can they do it this time?

0:22:21 > 0:22:26Up, good boy. Yes! What a boy! Yes!

0:22:26 > 0:22:29Oh, no. It looks like it's happening again.

0:22:29 > 0:22:32Come on, that's it, boy.

0:22:32 > 0:22:37Hang on, no. Now they're going. Wow!

0:22:37 > 0:22:40- That's better. Now you're making progress.- What a good lad!

0:22:40 > 0:22:43Hang on. It looks like Katie's decided she's going

0:22:43 > 0:22:47to have to give Danny Boy some help. That'll get them over the line

0:22:47 > 0:22:51but it's going to be at the cost of a hefty penalty.

0:22:51 > 0:22:54Yes! Come on!

0:22:54 > 0:22:56Unbelievable!

0:22:56 > 0:22:58Well done, you two. A time of 28 seconds,

0:22:58 > 0:23:03but that penalty takes them up to a total time of 58 seconds.

0:23:03 > 0:23:05Will it be enough?

0:23:05 > 0:23:08Next up, Megan and Rocky.

0:23:08 > 0:23:12Megan and Rocky had what you might call a rocky start to the training.

0:23:12 > 0:23:15Megan struggled to keep control of Rocky,

0:23:15 > 0:23:18but with patience she managed to keep him focused.

0:23:18 > 0:23:22Now the pressure is on, can she maintain her control?

0:23:22 > 0:23:25Megan and Rocky, your time starts now.

0:23:25 > 0:23:28Up. Push, push, push.

0:23:28 > 0:23:30Come on. Push, push, push.

0:23:30 > 0:23:34Oh, dear. I think we've been here before.

0:23:34 > 0:23:37Rocky can't get that pram going either.

0:23:37 > 0:23:40- Come on, push. - Megan is definitely in control.

0:23:40 > 0:23:43But despite come fantastic encouragement,

0:23:43 > 0:23:46she can't seem to get Rocky moving.

0:23:46 > 0:23:50- Push, come on.- Your time is up. Don't be discouraged.

0:23:50 > 0:23:55You've got two more chances. Megan and Rocky, your time starts now.

0:23:55 > 0:23:56Push, push. Come on.

0:23:56 > 0:23:58They are off and they're flying.

0:23:58 > 0:24:02Push, push, push, push, push, push.

0:24:02 > 0:24:04Push, push, come on.

0:24:04 > 0:24:09But I think Zak suspects Rocky might also be getting some assistance.

0:24:09 > 0:24:11Come on, up.

0:24:11 > 0:24:14And he's right.

0:24:14 > 0:24:18Just like Katie, Megan has decided that the only option

0:24:18 > 0:24:20is to help Rocky along.

0:24:20 > 0:24:23It's a risky strategy, but has it paid off?

0:24:23 > 0:24:26- Come on!- It looked good.

0:24:28 > 0:24:33A really impressive time of 25 seconds,

0:24:33 > 0:24:36but that 30 second penalty takes their total time to 55 seconds.

0:24:36 > 0:24:38They have beaten Katie and Danny Boy,

0:24:38 > 0:24:42but have they done it fast enough to beat the final team?

0:24:43 > 0:24:46Next up, Talia and Crystal.

0:24:46 > 0:24:49Talia and Crystal were Zak's wildcard entry to the Doghouse.

0:24:49 > 0:24:51He could tell they had a strong bond

0:24:51 > 0:24:56but felt Crystal might simply be too young to handle the contest.

0:24:56 > 0:25:01Since then, Talia has had to work hard to keep Crystal motivated.

0:25:01 > 0:25:04It's time to find out if all that training was worth it.

0:25:04 > 0:25:10- Talia and Crystal, your time starts now.- Crystal, come on. Push.

0:25:10 > 0:25:15Good girl. Come on. Push. Push.

0:25:15 > 0:25:16Push. Push.

0:25:16 > 0:25:21Another slow start. Are these two going to have the same problem?

0:25:21 > 0:25:25Push, good girl. Come on.

0:25:25 > 0:25:28Oh, hold on. Crystal is doing it.

0:25:28 > 0:25:31And crucially, Talia is not touching the pram.

0:25:31 > 0:25:33But it is slow progress.

0:25:36 > 0:25:39Nice encouragement from Talia.

0:25:39 > 0:25:42She's been really working on that throughout training.

0:25:42 > 0:25:45Push, Crystal. Come on.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50They are almost there. But will they do it in time?

0:25:52 > 0:25:56Come on. Push. Push.

0:25:56 > 0:25:59Come on. Good girl.

0:25:59 > 0:26:01Yes! A fantastic effort there!

0:26:01 > 0:26:03Talia and Crystal were the only ones to complete

0:26:03 > 0:26:07the course on their first attempt and without any penalty.

0:26:07 > 0:26:12But was their time quick enough to take them into the next round?

0:26:15 > 0:26:19What I noticed about all three of you is that you kept training

0:26:19 > 0:26:22really positive and loving with your dog at all times

0:26:22 > 0:26:26and all of you made it past that finish line, one way or another.

0:26:26 > 0:26:29That was impressive. Sometimes our dogs need our help along the way

0:26:29 > 0:26:33and you guys were willing to provide that. That was great.

0:26:33 > 0:26:38But I can reveal that the winner of today's pram pushing challenge

0:26:38 > 0:26:43with a time of 47 seconds is...

0:26:49 > 0:26:52Talia and Crystal. Congratulations.

0:26:52 > 0:26:54You will move on to the next round

0:26:54 > 0:26:57with an incredible performance today.

0:26:57 > 0:27:02- Absolutely. Tell me how you feel. - Great. I'm speechless.

0:27:02 > 0:27:07- And just surprised as well. - Give your dogs some love.

0:27:07 > 0:27:11Talia and Crystal have made it through to the next round.

0:27:11 > 0:27:14Next time, three more trainers and their dogs will compete

0:27:14 > 0:27:16for their place in the quarter-finals

0:27:16 > 0:27:20with another amazing stunt. Don't miss it.

0:27:20 > 0:27:25Next time, Angelina and Jess, Rosie and Honey and Charlotte and Whisper

0:27:25 > 0:27:27get set to poise their paws.

0:27:27 > 0:27:29We've got a lot of work to do.

0:27:29 > 0:27:31Zak reveals an incredible new trick.

0:27:31 > 0:27:34This is not the type of trick that comes quick.

0:27:34 > 0:27:36If I was you, I'd watch it.

0:27:36 > 0:27:40I feel amazing. It was a big surprise.

0:27:40 > 0:27:44I'm really glad that I won. I think we've done our best and it paid off.

0:27:45 > 0:27:47I'm feeling a little disappointed

0:27:47 > 0:27:50but I can't be disappointed in Danny.

0:27:50 > 0:27:54He did amazingly well. He did his best and that's all I could ask for.

0:27:55 > 0:27:58Talia, good luck with Crystal. Don't let her eat too much ham.

0:27:58 > 0:28:00It's bad for their guts.
