0:04:52 > 0:04:53Came around here, guys. Yeah.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00The Dengineers is amazing.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Imagine you're at school minding your own business

0:05:02 > 0:05:04and then suddenly, bam! Out of nowhere,

0:05:04 > 0:05:07"Hey, I'm Lauren. Hey, I'm Joe from the Dengineers.

0:05:07 > 0:05:09"And we're going to build you the room of your dreams."

0:05:09 > 0:05:11- I'm Lauren.- And I'm Joe.

0:05:11 > 0:05:13And this is The Dengineers.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16The show puts you in charge of building your very own dream den.

0:05:16 > 0:05:19Every episode of The Dengineers is incredible.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22The RIDICULOUS designs they manage to pull off,

0:05:22 > 0:05:25but this episode in particular was truly inspiring.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28And if I may say, VERY ambitious.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32Welcome to a very special episode of The Dengineers.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35Yes, today we're at a children's hospice on the Wirral.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39Drop yourself in, because this is going to be our biggest build yet.

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Lauren, Joe and the team aimed to build a huge community den

0:05:41 > 0:05:43for a children's hospice,

0:05:43 > 0:05:45and it is the biggest project the show has ever done.

0:05:45 > 0:05:48But this time they were building a brand-new den out in the open.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51Nay, not just one den, but four.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54The hospice is opening a brand-new site in Liverpool.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57And it just so happens there's an area around the back

0:05:57 > 0:05:59that is perfect for a dream den.

0:05:59 > 0:06:01But as cool as this all was,

0:06:01 > 0:06:03the real story wasn't about the den they were building,

0:06:03 > 0:06:06but about the families that they were building this den for.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08A lot of the children at this hospice were really poorly,

0:06:08 > 0:06:10and some had even lost loved ones.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12One story that particularly touched me was that of Leyton

0:06:12 > 0:06:15who talked about losing his little brother Carson.

0:06:15 > 0:06:20Carson was energetic and happy and he always loved everyone.

0:06:20 > 0:06:22When Carson got quite poorly,

0:06:22 > 0:06:24what was one of the things that he really wanted?

0:06:24 > 0:06:26He wanted a treehouse.

0:06:26 > 0:06:27In fact, it was Carson's memory

0:06:27 > 0:06:30that helped inspire the den's treehouse theme.

0:06:30 > 0:06:34A treehouse-inspired village, including places to communicate,

0:06:34 > 0:06:36party and chill out with friends and family.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39As if that wasn't huge enough, Sege has also designed

0:06:39 > 0:06:43a zip line which is accessible for every child at the hospice.

0:06:43 > 0:06:46It seems that this build was going to need some extra hands

0:06:46 > 0:06:47and lucky for Sege,

0:06:47 > 0:06:50Lauren and Joe had some very useful contacts up their sleeve.

0:06:50 > 0:06:53You might even notice a certain handsome face. Hmm?

0:06:53 > 0:06:56With so much work still to do,

0:06:56 > 0:06:59Sege has called in some CBBC reinforcements.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11Me! That's me, look, me! I helped! I helped!

0:07:11 > 0:07:16Ahem, but, I mean, it's a team effort. Ahem, carry on.

0:07:20 > 0:07:22That's right, the whole team got involved.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24Oh, yeah, and Hacker was there, too,

0:07:24 > 0:07:26putting his nuisance skills to good use.

0:07:26 > 0:07:29- You're doing a rubbish job. Paint better!- Are you serious?- Yeah.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31You're not doing anything so you can't say anything.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33Well, I'm dry clean only, Kathleen.

0:07:33 > 0:07:35Luckily, we didn't slow them down too much

0:07:35 > 0:07:37as the day of the big reveal came

0:07:37 > 0:07:39and I don't think anyone was disappointed.

0:07:39 > 0:07:42I couldn't have expected anything more!

0:07:42 > 0:07:45It's massive and it's so colourful and bright.

0:07:45 > 0:07:47I couldn't pick a better den.

0:07:47 > 0:07:49The team even had one more surprise up their sleeve

0:07:49 > 0:07:52to honour one very special individual.

0:07:56 > 0:07:57It's brilliant.

0:07:57 > 0:08:01- Do you think he'd like it? - I think he'll love it. Thank you.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03I can't think of a more deserving,

0:08:03 > 0:08:05strong group of children for this den

0:08:05 > 0:08:08and having been able to contribute to it myself was the biggest honour.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11You can bet I'll be visiting to have a go on that zip line, too.

0:08:11 > 0:08:14Until then, there's only one more thing to do. Take it away, guys!

0:08:14 > 0:08:17- ALL:- This den is done!

0:08:17 > 0:08:19CHEERING

0:08:24 > 0:08:26What do you get when you have a pet that can sing really well?

0:08:26 > 0:08:29HIGH-PITCHED SINGING

0:08:29 > 0:08:32Be prepared for the judging panel because I'm going to find out

0:08:32 > 0:08:35whether your pet has... The Pets Factor!

0:08:39 > 0:08:43Wait, it's not a show about singing dogs? Oh, I got that really wrong.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47It's actually a show all about adorable animals that are poorly

0:08:47 > 0:08:50and the vets that make them better. That definitely beats singing cats.

0:08:50 > 0:08:52And there's puppies!

0:08:52 > 0:08:54Yep, that's right. He's a puppy.

0:08:54 > 0:08:56Nothing gets cuter than a puppy.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59And after the excitement of the big wide world,

0:08:59 > 0:09:02this big lad will certainly sleep tonight.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05Except lots of puppies!

0:09:05 > 0:09:06SHE SCREAMS

0:09:06 > 0:09:08OK, calm down, Laura.

0:09:08 > 0:09:10You're just watching a show about adorably cute pets.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12There's nothing to get excited about.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15And there are some familiar faces on the guest list -

0:09:15 > 0:09:18Rocky the accident-prone French bulldog...

0:09:18 > 0:09:20Awww!

0:09:20 > 0:09:22Daisy the cavalier King Charles spaniel.

0:09:22 > 0:09:24Hello! Hello!

0:09:24 > 0:09:26She's been coming here for ten years.

0:09:26 > 0:09:28SHE SCREAMS

0:09:28 > 0:09:30OK, I've got to stop screaming about how cute this show is.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32OK, fine, then, one more.

0:09:32 > 0:09:33Ee-eeee!

0:09:33 > 0:09:36But apart from the lovely animals, this show is great

0:09:36 > 0:09:38because it shows you all the hard work that the vets do

0:09:38 > 0:09:39to keep the animals healthy.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44Her heart rate was 80 before we started

0:09:44 > 0:09:46and she's just done some exercise in there,

0:09:46 > 0:09:47about three minutes' walking,

0:09:47 > 0:09:51and it was still the same so she's really, really well fit.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54And how much they seem to enjoy their job at the same time.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57Very short anaesthetic. She'll be up and about in a minute.

0:09:57 > 0:09:59Look how these animals look and feel

0:09:59 > 0:10:01so much better after they've been treated by the vet.

0:10:02 > 0:10:05I think that's going to heal beautifully now.

0:10:05 > 0:10:06And this wouldn't be a Laura vlog

0:10:06 > 0:10:10without mentioning something very important. Sort of.

0:10:10 > 0:10:12There's cake in one episode!

0:10:12 > 0:10:13I'm making cakes for the party.

0:10:13 > 0:10:15Mmm, cake!

0:10:15 > 0:10:18This is the best show ever - animals and cake.

0:10:18 > 0:10:22I'm making peanut butter dog cupcakes.

0:10:22 > 0:10:24I mean, they might be cupcakes for dogs,

0:10:24 > 0:10:27but peanut butter sounds quite nice. Mmm!

0:10:27 > 0:10:29- SHE SNIFFS - It smells disgusting!

0:10:29 > 0:10:30SHE LAUGHS

0:10:30 > 0:10:33Right, maybe not, but I bet the dogs will like them.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36Jay's cakes are going down a storm with her canine guests.

0:10:38 > 0:10:39Based on that reaction,

0:10:39 > 0:10:41I think they're definitely enjoyed more by the dogs.

0:10:41 > 0:10:44OK, now I've got to start working out a way to convince my mum

0:10:44 > 0:10:46to get us a puppy.

0:10:46 > 0:10:49Hmm, maybe I could give her some of those peanut butter cupcakes. Hmm...

0:10:49 > 0:10:50I know! I'll convince her with a song

0:10:50 > 0:10:53and my newly-discovered high-pitched superpowers.

0:10:53 > 0:10:54- HIGH PITCHED:- # Haa... #

0:10:54 > 0:10:56Wait, no, I don't think that's the right note.

0:10:56 > 0:11:01SHE SINGS A NUMBER OF HIGH-PITCHED NOTES

0:11:01 > 0:11:04Who knew talking to a camera could be so good?

0:11:50 > 0:11:55It's lunchtime. Just like back home, there's always a queue.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58Food is scarce in this part of Kenya.

0:11:58 > 0:12:01The school gives its students a diet of beans and maize.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04For some, this is their only meal of the day.
