:00:18. > :00:23.the time you got up, went out and got wild. We are going to look at
:00:23. > :00:33.how wild things have been throughout the series. We best get cracking.
:00:33. > :00:34.
:00:34. > :00:44.Where is Wilkinson? Woo hoo!She said she would be here. Sorry, just
:00:44. > :01:13.
:01:14. > :01:19.dropped in to say hello. Sorry I am feast of incredible adventures,
:01:19. > :01:24.wildlife, adventure sports and some of your amazing WILD things.
:01:24. > :01:29.Everything that we can squeeze into one show. Over the last eight weeks
:01:29. > :01:34.we have had a truly WILD time watching you get up and get active.
:01:34. > :01:40.We have chosen a personal selection of our favourite moments as well as
:01:40. > :01:50.the ones you have requested on our website. I have a favourite. When I
:01:50. > :01:51.
:01:51. > :01:59.went mountain boarding. What about when I went WILD with sled dogs? We
:01:59. > :02:05.are turning! It is not about us, it is about you, our guests and
:02:05. > :02:15.audiences. We better get cosy and take a look at some of our wild
:02:15. > :02:18.
:02:18. > :02:28.been on an epic road trip, travelling the length and breadth of
:02:28. > :02:29.
:02:29. > :02:35.the UK. We were in Cardiff. Hunstanton. Paignton in Devon.
:02:35. > :02:41.have come to Belfast activity centre. We have met so many amazing
:02:41. > :02:49.wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts. From our forest fanatics. Too wet
:02:49. > :02:56.and wild water pioneers. The urban explorers. And our daring
:02:56. > :03:03.mountaineers. They have all set the bar so high with wildlife and
:03:03. > :03:10.adventure escapades. All our wild things have been truly
:03:10. > :03:16.inspirational. We have been so inspired by our wild things that Tim
:03:16. > :03:22.and I have told our very own raft. It has taken us hours, how good is
:03:22. > :03:27.this, Radzi? Is it definitely finished? It doesn't seem that
:03:27. > :03:32.stable to me. We thought we would get our hands dirty and we are very
:03:32. > :03:42.confident it is going to work. are so confident, we have named it
:03:42. > :03:43.
:03:43. > :03:49.Sir Tim and the un-sink a bull, she is ready to sail! -- Sir Tim.
:03:49. > :03:59.did that happen? I may have forgotten to tied a rope to the wood
:03:59. > :04:00.
:04:00. > :04:03.properly. Unbelievable, what a failure. Unlike the next group of
:04:03. > :04:09.WILD things who had a successful mission when they spent the night in
:04:09. > :04:16.the forest. There are lots of ways to go wild in the UK but one of the
:04:16. > :04:19.best ways to experience the great outdoors is to go and sleep in it.
:04:19. > :04:23.Matthew is crazy about camping, he has all begin, he knows will be
:04:23. > :04:28.skills and he is keen to show his friends how fun it can be come so he
:04:28. > :04:33.has brought them for a wild woodland sleepover. What Matthew and his
:04:33. > :04:42.friends don't know is that this is going to be a camping adventure with
:04:42. > :04:51.a tree top twist. My name is Matt. I don't like reading and writing.
:04:51. > :04:56.name is Ollie. I don't like sports warned learning. My name is Kieron.
:04:56. > :05:06.I don't like sport, American football is probably the only sport
:05:06. > :05:08.
:05:08. > :05:12.I like. My name is Reece. I don't like rugby. It is too muddy. This is
:05:12. > :05:15.going to be a big challenge, especially for Reece, who is not
:05:15. > :05:25.keen on heights. Climbing expert Vicky is here to show them the
:05:25. > :05:32.
:05:32. > :05:39.ropes. Those are going to be your sleeping platforms. I have slept in
:05:39. > :05:49.the trees before, it is really comfortable. Everyone is ready?
:05:49. > :05:57.
:05:57. > :06:07.I have to get you into your arm and of ropes and police to haul
:06:07. > :06:08.
:06:08. > :06:12.themselves up to the top of the heights but halfway up is far enough
:06:12. > :06:22.for him, so he decides to camp at ground level instead, leaving the
:06:22. > :06:25.
:06:25. > :06:30.others to push on. How are you up there? It is like flying! There is a
:06:30. > :06:35.leaf in my nose! We are going up slower than I thought we would be
:06:35. > :06:41.but it is really fun. It takes almost an hour but the boys make it
:06:41. > :06:45.to camp just as the sun is setting. They will be spending the next eight
:06:45. > :06:51.hours suspended here, high above the forest floor. There is the rule of
:06:51. > :06:58.not looking down, but I love looking down! I think the fact I have
:06:58. > :07:04.managed to get this high is quite an achievement. It is a strange
:07:04. > :07:09.sensation. It is like you are flying, floating in midair. It feels
:07:09. > :07:19.exciting but at the same time, perilous and scary. There is a 50
:07:19. > :07:23.
:07:23. > :07:33.feet drop underneath me. I can hear what sounds like owls. It is a bit
:07:33. > :07:37.
:07:37. > :07:47.weird, how quiet it is up here. they nice? Yes. That's good. It's
:07:47. > :08:11.
:08:11. > :08:18.greeted by a spectacular wake-up call. It is quite a nice view, I can
:08:18. > :08:22.finally see stuff. It is not as scary. In the night it was quite
:08:22. > :08:28.quiet but now there are so many different birds just squealing and
:08:28. > :08:38.making their sounds. It is strange when you wake up when you realise
:08:38. > :08:45.you are still up in a tree, really high up. Thumbs up, definitely.
:08:45. > :08:54.is time for our wild things to return to Earth. And Rees is waiting
:08:54. > :09:00.to welcome them home. It was more fun than sleeping on the ground. It
:09:00. > :09:05.is a lot more exciting, it is swaying from side to side. It was an
:09:05. > :09:13.exciting experience and you probably only get to do it once in your life.
:09:13. > :09:20.I am proud of getting that high. would recommend it to your friends
:09:20. > :09:25.-- my friends to do something like this. How cool was that? Catching 40
:09:25. > :09:31.winks in the woods. They are not the only ones who have made a bed in the
:09:31. > :09:35.forest. Woodlands offer a safe and secure home for an array of animals.
:09:35. > :09:45.And one bird enthusiasts got the chance to get a closer look at one
:09:45. > :09:54.
:09:54. > :09:59.have been into wildlife since I was about two. Reptiles are my
:09:59. > :10:09.favourite, there are so many species of them right here in the UK. What I
:10:09. > :10:12.
:10:13. > :10:16.really love our birds of prey. At the weekend I volunteer for the
:10:16. > :10:21.RSPB, a charity dedicated to protecting birds and other wildlife.
:10:21. > :10:28.I am one of their youngest volunteers. I love talking to the
:10:28. > :10:35.visitors about the importance of riches wildlife. This is the
:10:35. > :10:39.wingspan of an adult female hawks, it is bigger than you. There is one
:10:39. > :10:44.bird in particular that I really love, because Hawke. This mighty
:10:44. > :10:51.predator is one of the biggest birds of prey found in the UK -- the
:10:51. > :10:59.goshawk. It catches prey in its talons as it flies. Today I am going
:10:59. > :11:03.on a very special mission. My friend, Andy, from the Forestry
:11:03. > :11:08.Commission, has invited me to monitor some goshawk chicks.
:11:08. > :11:13.Unfortunately for Andy, they love nesting at the top of trees. Whilst
:11:13. > :11:23.I wait on the ground committee he's going to have a look.
:11:23. > :11:26.
:11:26. > :11:33.-- weight on the ground, he is going is quite high up and there are very
:11:34. > :11:38.few branches do hang onto, it is quite a job. He is hoping to find
:11:38. > :11:43.two and a half week old chicks, he will put them into the bag and lower
:11:43. > :11:49.them down. He will carefully remove the chicks from the nests so they
:11:49. > :11:54.can be rings. Ringing involves tagging a bird so they can be
:11:54. > :11:57.monitored in the wild. Andy has put the chicks in the bag and it looks
:11:57. > :12:02.like they are coming back down again. We should be ringing them any
:12:02. > :12:08.minute now. Once the chicks are on the ground, we need to work quickly
:12:08. > :12:15.so they can be returned to where they belong. They are in good
:12:15. > :12:21.fettle, they seem to be growing well. They have not grown their
:12:21. > :12:31.adult feathers yet. First we check their overall health, their weight,
:12:31. > :12:35.
:12:35. > :12:43.and then they are fitted with a chicks, it is amazing. You are only
:12:43. > :12:48.allowed to do this with a licensed Ringo. With all checks complete, the
:12:48. > :12:52.chicks go back to the safety of their nests. Hopefully we will see
:12:52. > :12:57.them as fully grown adults next year. I really enjoyed that, it was
:12:57. > :13:01.so good to get up close to them. I hope to have the chance to climb the
:13:01. > :13:07.tree myself one day. What a beautiful place to live, it is
:13:07. > :13:12.really exciting to think that those little chicks will grow into fierce
:13:12. > :13:18.winds hunters. It is not just animals who can build a home in the
:13:18. > :13:23.forest, Tim and Naomi had a go. and join me, this is what you are
:13:23. > :13:29.going to be making, your very own den. Tim has gone in, you only have
:13:29. > :13:37.two minutes. Everything you need is somewhere around here in the forest.
:13:37. > :13:41.Without further ado, we will get them started. Three, two, one, go!
:13:41. > :13:46.Tim stumbled straightaway, we will pretend we did not see it. If you
:13:46. > :13:51.want to have a go at making your own den, you can do it in your bedroom,
:13:51. > :13:57.in the playground, in a living room and use whatever materials you have
:13:57. > :14:03.got. A blanket, cardboard ox is. My personal favourite is the blanket
:14:03. > :14:13.and the sofa -- cardboard boxes. Being a man, it is printed in my DNA
:14:13. > :14:15.
:14:15. > :14:22.that I can make a perfect den. As you can see. Big words! Naomi...
:14:22. > :14:31.long did your stake to make? More than two minutes! It is going to
:14:31. > :14:40.take an hour! I am getting the audience involved. Yours is coming
:14:40. > :14:44.along nicely. Look at this bad boy! We are going to have a water test at
:14:44. > :14:54.the end of this. You can't sustain a den without having it rain on you.
:14:54. > :14:56.
:14:56. > :15:06.We have 20 seconds left. 20 seconds until you have to stop making. Ten
:15:06. > :15:11.
:15:11. > :15:15.seconds. Six, five, four, three, two, one. Stop making! OK. It is
:15:15. > :15:23.time to get your raincoats on, you will be getting in those dens and
:15:23. > :15:27.the rain will be pouring. Oh, yes. We will start with Naomi, our
:15:27. > :15:37.glamorous sister will be pouring the rain. Here comes the water from the
:15:37. > :15:39.
:15:39. > :15:49.watering can. I can't even get in mine! It is like centrally heated!
:15:49. > :15:50.
:15:50. > :15:58.O! I am going to give this one to Tim! Yes, I was the champion,
:15:58. > :16:07.totally deserved that! But not as good as Abbey and Sophie who made an
:16:07. > :16:14.awesome den in the forest. Ellis has made leaves to make his cosy.
:16:14. > :16:19.Martin family built this huge shelter. Oliver and Isabella
:16:19. > :16:25.demonstrated you can make your den indoors. Naomi's forfeit was to
:16:25. > :16:35.rescue a cat from a tree. You have chosen one that has no branches.
:16:35. > :16:36.
:16:36. > :16:44.Lest talking, more action. You have to grab it with your hands.
:16:44. > :16:48.Yes! Before Fitz can be a real challenge but it is good to know
:16:48. > :16:58.there is always one group in particular to help cheer as alone.
:16:58. > :16:59.
:16:59. > :17:09.This is our wonderful audience with Radzi! This lot are excited, they
:17:09. > :17:25.
:17:25. > :17:32.are ready to cheer in all the right we think he! It is quite
:17:32. > :17:42.astonishing. It was awesome. Unbelievable. Are we all feeling
:17:42. > :17:50.inspired? Yes, they are. I definitely want to see more of them.
:17:51. > :17:57.I might have to keep my eye on a few of them. It is your job to try and
:17:57. > :18:01.look after Radzi, best of luck with that!
:18:01. > :18:04.Forests are not the only places where you can go wild. Britain is
:18:04. > :18:12.full of waterlogged areas. They are vital habitat for wildlife and known
:18:12. > :18:22.as wetlands. Here you can find a very special and rare bird that one
:18:22. > :18:26.
:18:26. > :18:30.wild thing is spending his weekend is hoping to protect. My name is
:18:30. > :18:36.Jethro, I'm 14 and I love all British wildlife. On an average
:18:36. > :18:43.weekend, I feed my budgies each day. Sometimes I have to clean them out
:18:43. > :18:47.and check on the babies and what is happening with them. What I really
:18:47. > :18:52.love is helping to protect endangered species of birds. On the
:18:52. > :19:02.weekends, I like to help my dad out at work. He looks after a very rare
:19:02. > :19:08.
:19:08. > :19:16.bird, the cream. -- the crane. There used to be basically no cranes in
:19:16. > :19:21.this part. When I go to school, I wear a special suit. We use this to
:19:21. > :19:27.stop birds thinking we are humans. Now I have my suit on, I am going to
:19:27. > :19:33.get some food will stop the use this to feed them and now I can feed the
:19:33. > :19:43.birds. I am going to have to be quite quiet so we don't scare the
:19:43. > :19:44.
:19:44. > :19:50.babies. I wash my feet and make sure all the germs are completely gone.
:19:50. > :19:53.These birds are being raised in captivity. They have never lived in
:19:53. > :19:59.the wild or had a mum but when they get old enough, they will be
:19:59. > :20:05.released. I started helping when I was 11 and I helped feed them when
:20:05. > :20:09.they were young. I help block them to keep them exercising so they
:20:09. > :20:14.don't get any problems with their legs. They grew about one centimetre
:20:14. > :20:24.every day. It takes me nearly two months to grow that much. Love
:20:24. > :20:30.coming here to see how much they have grown. When the birds to learn
:20:30. > :20:39.to fly, they will try to fly all the time so we want to keep them in this
:20:39. > :20:45.enclosure. Jethro is heavily involved in walking the birds. They
:20:45. > :20:52.have to be what every day and he is one of the team who'd help do this.
:20:52. > :21:00.They actually walk ten miles in their lives. I feel quite proud that
:21:00. > :21:10.I have helped them without the help of any parents. After they had been
:21:10. > :21:17.exercised, we take them back to their homes until another day. Today
:21:17. > :21:24.went well. All the cranes have been walked and they all had good
:21:24. > :21:34.exercise. One of them went in the water, which is good. I think today
:21:34. > :21:34.
:21:34. > :21:39.has been pretty good. I have to say, I am so ready to get
:21:39. > :21:45.out and get active, I am inspired. knew today was going to be good.
:21:45. > :21:50.am going to teach you to about canoeing. I have picked up some
:21:50. > :21:57.hints and tips throughout the series. I am pretty much an expert.
:21:57. > :22:07.Hold the canoe. I need you to hold it steady. I need a good push out to
:22:07. > :22:14.the edge of the water. With! yet? I haven't got my paddle. That
:22:14. > :22:23.was not funny! Let us take a look back at a group who got drenched
:22:23. > :22:26.when they had a go at Wick boarding. Wherever you are in the country,
:22:26. > :22:31.you're never too far away from Lake reservoir and they are perfect for
:22:31. > :22:37.getting wet and wild. The Tasha is a sports fanatic and one thing she
:22:37. > :22:43.loves is getting out on the water. Now it is time her friends got
:22:43. > :22:52.involved as well. It is time to get out and go wild. If there is one
:22:52. > :23:02.sport that is particularly difficult to master it is this. The instructor
:23:02. > :23:04.
:23:04. > :23:14.is here to give helping hand. Do you want to have a go? Yes.While the
:23:14. > :23:45.
:23:45. > :23:54.girls get ready, a second instructor girls are starting to feel the
:23:55. > :24:04.pressure. He looked nervous! Are you ready? Let us go. Who is first?
:24:04. > :24:09.Let's go. I am scared. I think it will be quite exciting, though.
:24:09. > :24:15.not very good on the water. I'm worried that I will fall over.
:24:15. > :24:25.is their first time on the water, the girls will be trying out this
:24:25. > :24:25.
:24:25. > :25:42.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 76 seconds
:25:42. > :25:49.special ski. It is really cold! scary to begin with. You had to hold
:25:49. > :25:59.on tightly. I don't know if I will be able to do it. It is time for the
:25:59. > :25:59.
:25:59. > :27:30.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 76 seconds
:27:30. > :27:40.other girls to get over their nerves hardest part? When there are big
:27:40. > :27:43.
:27:43. > :27:46.waves. It was really fun. Would you do it again? Yes.It looks like the
:27:46. > :27:52.friends are convinced that a day on the water is lots of fun. Anybody
:27:52. > :28:02.can have a go and love it. One day I might have a go at that run over
:28:02. > :28:03.
:28:03. > :28:08.there! We went wild! Fresh waters are teeming with so
:28:08. > :28:15.much fascinating wildlife. You can make your own underwater world back
:28:15. > :28:23.home. How? With another Radzi crazy creation. Without further ado, let
:28:23. > :28:30.us get the party started! I said Naomi and Timothy challenged to
:28:30. > :28:40.create a magnet for whiteness. Their very own magnificent pond. We have
:28:40. > :28:48.
:28:48. > :28:54.five seconds! Happy with that.Stop your making! The winner is Naomi!
:28:54. > :29:01.Not a chance! You go and get yourself ready for the forfeit!
:29:01. > :29:05.Jessica made it really cool pond decorated with disease. Poppy
:29:05. > :29:10.managed to attract this frog into her back garden. Tim lost this
:29:10. > :29:20.challenge and he had to face the consequences. If the imposition?
:29:20. > :29:23.
:29:23. > :29:33.That as current him down. -- let us count him down. Never mind, Tim!
:29:33. > :29:38.
:29:38. > :29:48.Nice doggy paddle. I think he got a soft landing! Let's say that again.
:29:48. > :30:22.
:30:22. > :30:25.I wasn't the only ones who got wet. The great British countryside is a
:30:25. > :30:29.fantastic place to have an epic adventure. But did you know that in
:30:29. > :30:37.our towns and cities, there are also loads of activities to get involved
:30:37. > :30:46.in? Just look at these amazing free runners that we met in Torbay. Check
:30:46. > :30:54.out that level. I would love to have a go at this. Is there a trick you
:30:54. > :31:04.can show me? Yes. If we come around here. Left foot, right foot. Only a
:31:04. > :31:16.
:31:16. > :31:25.small jump. Catch on. Here we go, strong in the arms. Yes! I am the
:31:25. > :31:34.King! A good start, but you will be more -- need more practice to get to
:31:34. > :31:36.their level. How amazing was that? If you want to have a go, go and
:31:36. > :31:43.find the experts, get the right to tuition and in a few years, you
:31:43. > :31:52.could be like this lot. If two wheels is more your thing, why not
:31:52. > :32:00.try a spot of BMX racing. This BMX team are seriously rads racers. I
:32:00. > :32:10.could not resist joining in the race. Wait! But these guys were just
:32:10. > :32:10.
:32:11. > :32:20.too fast. Is everybody as out of breath as me? No, just you, you were
:32:21. > :32:31.
:32:31. > :32:36.diverse range of animals have been making urban environments their
:32:36. > :32:42.home. There is a particularly unusual creature that for one group
:32:42. > :32:45.of wild things had not expected to find living on their doorstep.
:32:45. > :32:50.Jackson is creepy Crawley crazy and he loves nothing more than looking
:32:50. > :33:00.after his insect pets. His friends don't share his passion for all

:36:26. > :36:32.all British wildlife. What I really love is looking for the secret side
:36:32. > :36:35.of nature. I have been taking photos for the last five years and I am
:36:35. > :36:42.going to share my top tip for catching wildlife in a completely
:36:42. > :36:46.different way. This is our back garden, now more of a mini nature
:36:46. > :36:54.reserve. I have decided my mum and dad and family to allow me to have
:36:54. > :36:58.this part of the garden -- I have persuaded. We have frogs, newts,
:36:58. > :37:02.toads, dragonfly larvae. In the summer you can hear the dragon flies
:37:02. > :37:06.buzzing around, which is really nice. Taking good photos is about
:37:06. > :37:12.trying to look at the world in a different way. One of my favourite
:37:12. > :37:15.things to do is to try and be more inventive and use household items. I
:37:15. > :37:22.can't afford underwater housing and things like this so I used this fish

:37:38. > :37:44.There is one animal that comes here that is really active at night and

:37:49. > :37:54.took it over when I got more into photography. We have this so we are
:37:54. > :38:00.invisible to wildlife. The foxes are wild animals and they don't hang
:38:00. > :38:05.around. I'm going to put this camera trap on the fork. I am going to see
:38:05. > :38:10.if I can get them when they walk through. We have set up a camera
:38:10. > :38:20.trap and I'm going to go back to the hive to see if I can get some live
:38:20. > :38:25.views. With wildlife, you can never really count on them to be there, so
:38:25. > :38:29.we will have to wait and see. When you see a fox, you forget about all
:38:29. > :38:37.the waiting because you have the privilege of seeing that bit of an
:38:37. > :38:43.individual. That is the real nice thing about it. If you close your
