:00:00. > :00:14.We're live and we need your help to cuff some criminals!

:00:15. > :00:22.The lone female students, terrorised by a serial attacker.

:00:23. > :00:33.He said, "Can I come with you?" He leant over me inside my car,

:00:34. > :00:40.and I was like, "Oh, my gosh, what is And I'm with police bikers, getting

:00:41. > :00:44.to grips with riding pillion! Hello and welcome to

:00:45. > :00:55.Crimewatch Roadshow. We're taking to the streets once

:00:56. > :00:57.again, tackling the crime The biker, left for dead

:00:58. > :01:08.in a shocking hit and run. My leg is never going

:01:09. > :01:10.to be the same again. I'm never going to be

:01:11. > :01:14.able to walk properly. A frightening ordeal

:01:15. > :01:17.for a teenage girl, when a gang He was threatening me with it

:01:18. > :01:28.and saying, "Where is the money? And if you don't know

:01:29. > :01:31.where the money is we're We're in the West

:01:32. > :01:35.Midlands again today. Rav, I'm at a police training

:01:36. > :01:39.centre in Edgbaston, where many police bikers have

:01:40. > :01:42.honed their riding This morning, they'll be showing off

:01:43. > :01:52.some tricky manoeuvres and teaching me a thing

:01:53. > :01:54.or two as well! First this morning,

:01:55. > :01:56.police are appealing for your help to trace the man

:01:57. > :02:10.behind a worrying series For many Birmingham University

:02:11. > :02:15.students, the nearby Selly Oak area is a popular place to live. In

:02:16. > :02:22.September last year, the community was shocked by a series of attacks

:02:23. > :02:27.on young women. Second-year American history and literature student,

:02:28. > :02:34.Julia Watkin Rees, moved to Selly Oak at the beginning of the academic

:02:35. > :02:41.year. All seven of us were going out. Julia had been out with her new

:02:42. > :02:48.housemates to celebrate the start of a new term. I could not get into the

:02:49. > :02:52.mood of the night so I thought at 230 in the morning, I would go back

:02:53. > :03:03.home. She walked home with a fellow student. Then parted company in the

:03:04. > :03:12.end of her road. I headed up to my front door. At this point I thought

:03:13. > :03:20.I was on my own. I proceeded to open my door. I thought I had got in

:03:21. > :03:25.safely. As soon as I shut the door, there was a knock. Because I had

:03:26. > :03:34.just left the club, I thought potentially could have been one of

:03:35. > :03:39.them. I was -- and there was a very confused looking man. He was saying

:03:40. > :03:46.he was looking for a lady called Helen. I said, there is definitely

:03:47. > :03:51.no Helen here. I need to go. I started to close the door. Then

:03:52. > :04:01.again he not. I kind of went great you need to leave me alone now. He

:04:02. > :04:07.suddenly said, I am looking for sex. -- he groped Julia. I managed to

:04:08. > :04:14.slam the door on him and that made him let go. I was still in absolute

:04:15. > :04:25.shock but I was so thankful I had managed to do it. Sadly this attack

:04:26. > :04:27.was not the only one. Just three weeks earlier, 23-year-old student

:04:28. > :04:31.Katie had been on a night out with friends when they dropped her at

:04:32. > :04:38.Selly Oak station to collect her car. There are two different sides

:04:39. > :04:42.of the train station, there is a car park. I was dropped on the other

:04:43. > :04:49.side to my car. I had to get out and cross over the bridge and platforms.

:04:50. > :04:59.CCTV shows Katie walking along the platform. But she was not alone. I

:05:00. > :05:07.did not feel that say. Katie started running, unaware she was being

:05:08. > :05:09.pursued. -- that say. I got to the car park and noticed out of the

:05:10. > :05:18.corner of my eye there was someone chasing me. I sped up and ran

:05:19. > :05:25.quicker and unlocked my car. I jumped in my car seat. Before I

:05:26. > :05:28.could shut the door, he was founded in my way saying, can I come with

:05:29. > :05:38.you? Realised he was not really after my help. He came to me and got

:05:39. > :05:43.inside the car. I thought, what will he do to me? She managed to fight

:05:44. > :05:48.her attacker. I managed to shut the door and reversed out of the space.

:05:49. > :05:55.He stood there, staring at me, rubbing his crotch. Then I thought,

:05:56. > :05:58.oh, my God, I have really had a lucky escape. When police

:05:59. > :06:04.investigated further, they realised they were dealing with a serial

:06:05. > :06:09.attacker. Six in total in the Selly Oak area. Either in the early

:06:10. > :06:18.evening or the early hours on young females. Each time he used a similar

:06:19. > :06:23.tactic. One method of approaching females is, do you no Helen? Have

:06:24. > :06:29.you seen Helen question gets him into a conversation and then the

:06:30. > :06:32.assault. For the victims, catching the culprit means everything. Not

:06:33. > :06:36.only would it be justice to me and the other girls who were attacked,

:06:37. > :06:41.it would also be peace of mind he is not out there anymore and cannot do

:06:42. > :06:46.things to other people who might not have been as lucky as we were.

:06:47. > :06:51.Although Julia and Katie managed to get away from the attacker, the

:06:52. > :06:56.events have had eight big impact. I'm a lot more cautious, more wary

:06:57. > :07:03.of who is behind me. If I am going to my friends, can you walk me to my

:07:04. > :07:09.car or my house? I became really ill. I did not want to get out of

:07:10. > :07:16.bed. That was partly shock kicking in. I think it upset me, realising

:07:17. > :07:21.how vulnerable I was. I have always been an Independent person. I have

:07:22. > :07:27.loved to do things on my own. I cannot let myself get into a

:07:28. > :07:31.situation like that again. Really frightening. Those six attacks all

:07:32. > :07:35.happened within a couple of miles of each other in a four-week period

:07:36. > :07:40.back in September. Did you notice anything suspicious around that

:07:41. > :07:43.time, or do you recognise the suspect? Let's look at the CCTV

:07:44. > :07:53.images. They are really clear. Any information, please get

:07:54. > :07:55.in touch. And I'm heading backstage

:07:56. > :07:59.for a little experiment. Many police forces now use

:08:00. > :08:01.drones to help them solve And I'm joined by Inspector Andrew

:08:02. > :08:07.Hamilton from Devon and Cornwall Police,

:08:08. > :08:15.who are both police Andrew, this is an

:08:16. > :08:36.impressive bit of kit. This is giving aerial support to

:08:37. > :08:40.people in the tent and gathering evidence. We did some work at a

:08:41. > :08:44.local school when they were looking at how GPS works and how the

:08:45. > :08:49.helicopter work. It shows the vast coastline we have in our area. Some

:08:50. > :08:55.sort of training exercise is going on. Firearms officers were working

:08:56. > :09:02.in conjunction with the Ambulance Service. We can provide overhead

:09:03. > :09:05.footage also discussed tactics. You can see so far from the air. Things

:09:06. > :09:12.like missing persons would be brilliant with the use of the

:09:13. > :09:15.groans, wouldn't they? My role is a fatal road traffic collision

:09:16. > :09:24.investigator. We can look at that as well. We're not quite as auroral but

:09:25. > :09:28.we will put this to the test. If you come in and start up the drone. We

:09:29. > :09:33.have hidden some are a bag of money. It will not tell you where it is you

:09:34. > :09:38.will try to find it. I will let you carry on and do that. Whilst he does

:09:39. > :09:42.that, talk me through the benefits of using the drone in a situation

:09:43. > :09:54.like this. Today we have money but it could a suspect. There is a big,

:09:55. > :09:59.open space indoors. We can send in a drone. If someone has a gun or a

:10:00. > :10:05.knife, I will not send my officers in. Here we can look at the doorway.

:10:06. > :10:12.If there is a suspect, we can spot that straightaway. You have escape

:10:13. > :10:17.routes. Safety is of paramount importance. Even if we sent in a dog

:10:18. > :10:22.handler or a dog, there is obvious risk. Let's see how Tom is getting

:10:23. > :10:28.on with the footage. He has found it straightaway. The purple bag of our

:10:29. > :10:33.money. Had this been a real situation, that evidence is already

:10:34. > :10:38.secured. We have not disturb the crime scene in any way. Any DNA

:10:39. > :10:44.evidence or footprints, we have not disturb it. That is crucial, to

:10:45. > :10:49.preserve that forensic evidence. The have had interest from other forces.

:10:50. > :10:54.We sit on a forum where we discuss and share ideas. It is a brilliant

:10:55. > :10:57.bit of kit. Thank you for sharing it with us. I wish I had had it when I

:10:58. > :11:00.was on the job. Rav, I'm here at Tally Ho police

:11:01. > :11:03.training centre in Birmingham. And it's here that police

:11:04. > :11:05.motorcyclists hone their skills on obstacle courses

:11:06. > :11:07.like the one behind me. West Midlands Police has used

:11:08. > :11:09.officers on motorcycles There was even once a rather

:11:10. > :11:13.fantastic-looking motorbike display Sergeant Richard Breeze is part of

:11:14. > :11:23.West Midlands Police Traffic Unit. You don't have stunt drivers

:11:24. > :11:29.anymore. But what kind of work are police

:11:30. > :11:38.bikers typically called on to do? Anywhere where you need to get from

:11:39. > :11:45.a to be quickly. We have all seen how dense our traffic is nowadays.

:11:46. > :11:49.We have a rather tough course here. How important is the training for

:11:50. > :11:56.these guys. Training is absolutely everything. Our chief instructor is

:11:57. > :12:00.showing slow bike control, which is essential for him to be allowed to

:12:01. > :12:07.go out onto the road and respond to an emergency situation. You can

:12:08. > :12:16.really see him weaving in and out of the cones. What real life scenarios

:12:17. > :12:20.does this extend to? Just about any emergency you can imagine. When the

:12:21. > :12:24.Pope comes to visit and you have the royal family in Birmingham. These

:12:25. > :12:31.guys will make sure the combo I is moving all the way through. These

:12:32. > :12:38.guys will find the target vehicles. -- the convoy. It never stops. We

:12:39. > :12:47.need to get the public to start to learn to do this.

:12:48. > :12:50.And, Rav, we'll be back with these guys later on to find out how

:12:51. > :12:52.they're using police-style training to improve motorbike

:12:53. > :12:54.safety among members of the public, including me!

:12:55. > :12:57.Next, can you help police trace a callous

:12:58. > :13:03.gang which terrorised a teenager in her own home?

:13:04. > :13:19.He said he would come back and her my family. We have not done

:13:20. > :13:23.anything. They do not even know us. Destiny is a typical 14-year-old

:13:24. > :13:27.girl with a zest for life. My daughter is an amazing person. She

:13:28. > :13:37.is always full of energy. She is very sociable and loves her family.

:13:38. > :13:47.She has a general knack with people. On the evening of 24th of March,

:13:48. > :13:54.destiny was at home. Goodbye, Destiny. My family went to watch my

:13:55. > :13:59.sister at her band recital. We went out that evening at 6:30 p.m..

:14:00. > :14:06.Destiny said, do not think that will be my thing. I detected her and she

:14:07. > :14:08.text is me back to say she was fine. As the teenager relaxed alone,

:14:09. > :14:31.masked men were approaching the house.

:14:32. > :14:37.It was confusing and shocking. I thought it was a joke. One man went

:14:38. > :14:42.upstairs while another demanded money. He had a screwdriver and he

:14:43. > :14:47.was threatening me with it and saying, where is the money, if you

:14:48. > :14:50.don't tell me where the money is we will rock you up. I felt like it was

:14:51. > :14:57.not real. I don't know where the money is. Destiny was taken into the

:14:58. > :15:00.kitchen and forced to search for cash. I said I don't know where it

:15:01. > :15:05.is my parents would not leave around. They would have it in the

:15:06. > :15:11.bank something, they would not just leave it out in the open. He was

:15:12. > :15:16.saying, stop playing games, I don't want to have to rough you up. There

:15:17. > :15:20.is nothing in here. As she was made to continue, a second man ransacked

:15:21. > :15:34.the bedrooms. Until he found something valuable. Boxes full of

:15:35. > :15:38.jewellery. Downstairs, Destiny was marched back into the living room.

:15:39. > :15:42.He don't be to stay here and don't tell the police because we have

:15:43. > :15:47.people watching and if you do, we're going to come back and kill your dad

:15:48. > :15:51.or your family. My heart rate was really fast. Why would this happen

:15:52. > :15:55.to us when we have not done anything? They don't even know us.

:15:56. > :16:01.It was just horrible. As Destiny watched the men make the mistake,

:16:02. > :16:06.she realised in horror that they were taking her grandmother's

:16:07. > :16:18.jewellery. I saw them take it and I could do nothing about it. It got me

:16:19. > :16:24.really upset. The timing of the raid could not have been worse. It was

:16:25. > :16:29.the anniversary of my mother's passing. It would have been five

:16:30. > :16:37.years on that day. Destiny and my mum were extremely close. She was

:16:38. > :16:46.like my second mother. She was very special and... It is just horrible.

:16:47. > :16:53.Horrible to think about them taking all that stuff that reminded me of

:16:54. > :16:59.her. The burglary has had a huge impact on Destiny. She is withdrawn

:17:00. > :17:04.and quiet. She does not want to go out and do things. I have had

:17:05. > :17:12.nightmares recently about being hurt really badly. How could they do

:17:13. > :17:14.that? It is not right. I didn't deserve it.

:17:15. > :17:16.Such an ordeal for a 14-year-old to go through.

:17:17. > :17:22.Here with me is Detective Sergeant James Ashcroft.

:17:23. > :17:25.Detective, just remind us of what happened to Destiny.

:17:26. > :17:27.The family live just off Hagley Road West,

:17:28. > :17:34.On Thursday, 24th March, between 8 and 8.20pm, three men broke

:17:35. > :17:39.Thankfully, they didn't use violence against Destiny, but they were armed

:17:40. > :17:41.with a screwdriver and threatened to harm her family.

:17:42. > :17:46.They took a large quantity of jewellery worth several thousand

:17:47. > :17:52.pounds, and of significant sentimental value to the family.

:17:53. > :17:54.And who do you believe could have done this?

:17:55. > :17:56.We believe there are three individuals responsible.

:17:57. > :17:58.All white males, one with an Irish accent, wearing a distinctive zip-up

:17:59. > :18:04.jacket with lots of pockets, similar to a Barbour.

:18:05. > :18:08.He was around 5 ft 6 and around 30 years old.

:18:09. > :18:10.The others were taller, and one was wearing a green

:18:11. > :18:14.And there's another man you're keen to trace to help

:18:15. > :18:21.Yes, two days before the offence a man with an Irish accent

:18:22. > :18:23.was reported as going door-to-door in the area.

:18:24. > :18:25.It's very likely he was there completely legitimately.

:18:26. > :18:28.However, we do need to identify him so he can be excluded

:18:29. > :18:32.We have a CCTV image of him from one of the houses on the street

:18:33. > :18:35.so if you recognise him please do get in touch.

:18:36. > :18:40.And if you know anything about this case, if you can shed some light,

:18:41. > :18:42.please get in touch. The usual details are on the screen.

:18:43. > :18:47.Robbed in broad daylight - the brazen gang who beat

:18:48. > :18:53.And we meet the man with one of the most unusual jobs

:18:54. > :19:04.It sounds a bit mad really, you're getting bit by a dog and you're

:19:05. > :19:07.going to enjoy it but I absolutely love working with the police dogs!

:19:08. > :19:10.But first, take a look at today's criminals caught on CCTV.

:19:11. > :19:21.Take a look at these two. They are trying to break down the door of

:19:22. > :19:27.this business premises in north London. Once inside, the alarm

:19:28. > :19:33.starts to go off but that doesn't stop them. They are clearly looking

:19:34. > :19:36.for something. They aren't tidal research the office. One of them

:19:37. > :19:42.grabs an envelope full of cash and the other swipes a laptop. Once they

:19:43. > :19:49.have got what they came for, they exit. Important business assets were

:19:50. > :19:53.taken and ?500 worth of damage was done to the door. Police would like

:19:54. > :20:01.to hear from you if you have any information. Lunchtime outside a

:20:02. > :20:05.shop in Toxteth in Liverpool. A security guard arrives to fill the

:20:06. > :20:10.cash machine inside. Closely followed by this man in a green

:20:11. > :20:15.hoodie and shorts. In the store, the man in shorts grabs the box before

:20:16. > :20:20.letting it down the street with thousands of pounds in cash. It is

:20:21. > :20:30.hardly subtle. Who is this quick cash thief? A quiet Friday morning

:20:31. > :20:34.in Kirkcaldy. Two men are cycling through the town. Then they park.

:20:35. > :20:39.They are careful to make sure the bikes are facing the right way. I

:20:40. > :20:45.wonder why. They headed towards a local bank. The two men sprint in

:20:46. > :20:50.with guns and demand the staff allow them entry to the office. Then they

:20:51. > :20:54.change their demands and ask for access to the safe. When the tellers

:20:55. > :21:00.cannot open the safe, the robbers settle for money from the tills.

:21:01. > :21:04.They casually stroll out with cash in excess of ?11,000. One of the men

:21:05. > :21:11.spoke with an eastern European accent and they cycled away towards

:21:12. > :21:14.the rabbit braised area. Who are these two gun-wielding bank robbers?

:21:15. > :21:16.If you recognised anyone, get on the phone now.

:21:17. > :21:19.Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

:21:20. > :21:26.Text CW, space and then your message.

:21:27. > :21:30.Texts will be charged at your standard message rate.

:21:31. > :21:41.Now, most of us would go out of our way to avoid

:21:42. > :21:43.being on the receiving end of a police dog's bite.

:21:44. > :21:45.But, for one man in West Midlands Police,

:21:46. > :22:04.Seoul who let the dogs out? -- # Who let the dogs out. Meet Dave. A man

:22:05. > :22:07.with one of the most unusual jobs in West Midlands Police. I am employed

:22:08. > :22:14.here at the dog unit and one of my roles is getting bit and -- bitten

:22:15. > :22:18.regularly by police dogs. I have always been passionate about dogs

:22:19. > :22:24.and being able to work with police dogs and getting paid for it, it

:22:25. > :22:28.seemed like a dream dog. Some of these springer spaniel puppies will

:22:29. > :22:32.become specialist search dogs, tracking down drugs, firearms and

:22:33. > :22:37.explosives. You build a bond very quickly and certain dogs, we have to

:22:38. > :22:43.put in a little bit of extra work and care. It is hard not to get

:22:44. > :22:46.affectionate. But Dave's main role is preparing operational police dogs

:22:47. > :22:53.for the challenges they will face in the real world. For riots like this

:22:54. > :22:57.and chasing down criminals. Today, he is working with a puppy called

:22:58. > :23:01.Ned. We're going to be looking at him doing a basic assault course.

:23:02. > :23:05.This is the beginning of a police dog's journey. He has a knotty

:23:06. > :23:12.character so fingers crossed he has the potential to be a police dog.

:23:13. > :23:15.Goodbye. At the moment he is showing a nice prospect and I know it is

:23:16. > :23:21.early days but he looks like a very confident puppy. By the time a dog

:23:22. > :23:27.in six months old, it needs to learn how to bite. Dave puts this dog

:23:28. > :23:31.through its paces to make sure she is making the grade. We're looking

:23:32. > :23:43.at the speed of the dog, the grip the dog. Good girl. Good girl.

:23:44. > :23:49.Moving on a bigger. Again, getting the dog ready to be going on the

:23:50. > :23:53.sleeve. I'm going to pull this tight and see if she readjusts. Good girl.

:23:54. > :24:00.We let her take it now because she has a nice grip. At this stage, they

:24:01. > :24:03.are only baby dogs so we are just building up their confidence.

:24:04. > :24:07.Eventually they will be dealing with criminals that might try to attack

:24:08. > :24:15.the dog or the handler. Next, it is the turn of Gilly to train on the

:24:16. > :24:20.sleeve. As soon as the dog is settled and barking, I give the dog

:24:21. > :24:26.bite. It has a firm grip and I allow the dog to take the sleeve. A lot of

:24:27. > :24:30.hand movements over the dog. Someone is going to strike a dog on the

:24:31. > :24:35.streets. You get the dog used to movement around him. It sounds a bit

:24:36. > :24:40.mad but you are getting bitten by a dog and you enjoy it. I absolutely

:24:41. > :24:44.love working with police dogs. I remember my first time was very

:24:45. > :24:48.nerve wracking but once you -- but once you realise how trains they are

:24:49. > :24:51.and how responsive they are, it is an enjoyable task to be doing. And

:24:52. > :24:58.Dave is not the only one enjoying himself. He's very confident with a

:24:59. > :25:04.nice, calm grip. He is very happy he's working. Dave also works with

:25:05. > :25:09.fully fledged police dogs who need regular training to practice their

:25:10. > :25:17.skills. Today, Ford is in the spotlight. It is time to suit up.

:25:18. > :25:23.I'm going to be running away from the dog, making a determined effort

:25:24. > :25:32.to escape. Wish me good luck. Hopefully he's going to obtain me.

:25:33. > :25:38.Textbook. When Dave runs the weapon test, it is easy to see how he got

:25:39. > :25:46.his nickname, Mr angry. Come on then! Come on then! Get him off me!

:25:47. > :25:55.Get him off me! Forwards passes with flying colours. -- forwards passes.

:25:56. > :26:01.You get a real buzz when you are joining these dogs. It is a great

:26:02. > :26:06.experience when you are doing it. But even police dogs need some

:26:07. > :26:13.downtime. Joining over, it is time to play with a favourite toy. --

:26:14. > :26:15.training over. Pretty special animals.

:26:16. > :26:19.Well, Birmingham is famous for its jewellery quarter.

:26:20. > :26:22.But the high value goods which change hands there each

:26:23. > :26:24.day can make the area a target for criminals and,

:26:25. > :26:26.in February, one diamond trader was viciously assaulted

:26:27. > :26:29.Here to tell me more is DC Richard Marsh.

:26:30. > :26:32.Richard, talk us through what happened.

:26:33. > :26:34.At 3.30pm on Monday 22nd February, diamond dealer Jamie Doyle

:26:35. > :26:37.was driving back to his office on Warstone Parade in

:26:38. > :26:40.the Jewellery Quarter with high value jewellery in his car boot.

:26:41. > :26:41.Usually he parks his car behind electronic gates,

:26:42. > :26:44.but unfortunately on this day that space was taken, so he

:26:45. > :26:52.As he got out, a Mercedes sped up, stopped alongside him and a gang

:26:53. > :26:57.They assaulted him and tried to steal his jewellery.

:26:58. > :26:59.And there's CCTV of this happening isn't there?

:27:00. > :27:02.Yes, you can see here the gang as they beat Jamie with a baseball

:27:03. > :27:06.In a bid to stop the men stealing the diamonds,

:27:07. > :27:09.he threw the car keys into the middle of the road

:27:10. > :27:11.but the gang retrieved them and stole a bag containing

:27:12. > :27:13.around ?150,000 of diamond rings from the boot,

:27:14. > :27:23.And you know a bit more about the car they were using?

:27:24. > :27:27.Yes - it was a Silver Mercedes C63 S Edition - a high value and not

:27:28. > :27:35.It was using the plates BT64 OOF which we now know were cloned.

:27:36. > :27:37.This car was stolen in a nasty carjacking a month earlier,

:27:38. > :27:53.Tell us more about the stolen jewellery. ?150,000 worth of

:27:54. > :27:56.jewellery, still outstanding. We are appealing to anyone in the jewellery

:27:57. > :28:03.trade who might have seen it. And there is a reward for this? There is

:28:04. > :28:07.a reward of ?5,000 for anybody with any information that leads to a

:28:08. > :28:12.conviction in this case. And how was the victim doing? He is fine. He was

:28:13. > :28:13.a little hurt but he is very angry that these people have taken his

:28:14. > :28:24.property. If you know the men behind either

:28:25. > :28:37.the diamond robbery or that carjacking, please contact us

:28:38. > :28:43.on the usual numbers. Next, to a tragic case

:28:44. > :28:46.of a young woman whose Last August, Saima Ahmed left her

:28:47. > :28:50.home in Wembley, North London. Her body was found five months

:28:51. > :28:56.later, 400 miles away in Scotland. Joining me is Saima's brother,

:28:57. > :28:58.Sadat, and DCI Martin MacLean Sadat, firstly, my deepest

:28:59. > :29:11.condolences to you and your family. I know this is a painful thing to

:29:12. > :29:12.speak about but thank you for coming in.

:29:13. > :29:25.She was a very loving, caring person, part of a very close family.

:29:26. > :29:30.On the day she left home last summer, everything seems to be

:29:31. > :29:33.normal, nothing out of the ordinary? Everything was normal. She left home

:29:34. > :29:39.and there was nothing that we know about that was any different. DCI

:29:40. > :29:44.Maclean, what do we know about the journey she made from her London

:29:45. > :29:48.home? After she left home on Sunday the 30th of August last year, we

:29:49. > :29:52.have caught on CCTV boarding and overground train heading from

:29:53. > :29:58.Wembley train station to Watford Junction at 10:18am. That is the

:29:59. > :30:04.image and you can see her there with the handbag she was carrying. From

:30:05. > :30:08.tickets recovered near to the body, we believe that she then travelled

:30:09. > :30:11.to Hemel Hempstead and from there to Birmingham and from Birmingham on to

:30:12. > :30:15.Edinburgh. The information we have today is that the ticket that occur

:30:16. > :30:19.from Birmingham to Edinburgh was purchased just after 5pm on that

:30:20. > :30:28.Sunday at Birmingham new Street train station. That leads us to

:30:29. > :30:34.believe that she took one of two trains to Edinburgh, either the

:30:35. > :30:38.5:15pm or the 5:32pm through your work, bringing her to Edinburgh at

:30:39. > :30:45.around 10:20pm that Sunday. And from that point, there was no news for

:30:46. > :30:49.several months until the New Year. Tragically on the 9th of January,

:30:50. > :30:54.Saima's remains were discovered on the outskirts of Edinburgh. That

:30:55. > :30:58.resulted in a major investigation being launched and detailed

:30:59. > :31:02.forensics examination. Specialist forensic experts and other

:31:03. > :31:06.investigations lead me to believe that she died close to the time that

:31:07. > :31:11.she went missing at the end of August. Unfortunately the postmortem

:31:12. > :31:16.has given us and an ascertainable cause of death. That leaves us with

:31:17. > :31:21.a lot of unanswered questions for Saima's family so we need the

:31:22. > :31:25.public's health. -- public's help. We do speak to anyone who might have

:31:26. > :31:31.seen Saima on that train. Let's look at the image again. You want to hear

:31:32. > :31:37.from people who may have seen her making their journey. Absolutely.

:31:38. > :31:43.Maybe you are working in a shop or you are but sorry taxi driver. We

:31:44. > :31:47.also have a new sighting on Portobello beach on the Monday

:31:48. > :31:48.morning. Did she stay in a local guesthouse? Ultimately, how did she

:31:49. > :32:01.get to that golf course. We have no idea why she would have

:32:02. > :32:05.travelled to Edinburgh. We have no family links there. What everyone

:32:06. > :32:12.needs is answers. Detective, Sadat,

:32:13. > :32:13.thank you very much. If you can help,

:32:14. > :32:16.please do get in touch. Next, detectives need your

:32:17. > :32:20.help to identify a hit and run driver who left a young

:32:21. > :32:34.motorbike courier with life- From a young age by Daniel was

:32:35. > :32:39.fascinated with motorbikes. I started young, at seven. I wanted a

:32:40. > :32:45.bike for Christmas. Never really got off one since. The first bike I had

:32:46. > :32:50.was read. I got sent to bed early on Christmas Eve. When I woke up I

:32:51. > :32:56.could not believe what I had. As he got older, his love of bikes was not

:32:57. > :33:00.just a hobby. His skills as a rider led into the perfect job of a

:33:01. > :33:09.career. I never found a job I could settle in. To work on my bike and

:33:10. > :33:15.bike at the same time, it was perfect, fun. A few months ago,

:33:16. > :33:21.Daniel bought his dream bike. The bike I had was a Yamaha. I had saved

:33:22. > :33:26.and I had a brand-new, the day it was released. The day I got that

:33:27. > :33:34.bike, I felt like I was young and free, seven again. I could do what I

:33:35. > :33:40.wanted. It was a stress reliever. On 11th of April, Daniel had the day

:33:41. > :33:41.off work. He decided to visit a friend, just a five-minute ride

:33:42. > :34:10.away. Everything was fine. The traffic was

:34:11. > :34:15.fine, it was not easy. When I got to a mini roundabout, I slowed down,

:34:16. > :34:18.looked to my right and left it was fine. I carried on over. That is

:34:19. > :34:46.when I saw a car coming. I did not really feel pain. I just

:34:47. > :34:52.felt sleepy, really tired. Nothing seemed real. I did not believe it

:34:53. > :34:59.had happened. I thought I was dreaming. When I woke up and the

:35:00. > :35:04.ambulance was with me, I knew there was something wrong with my leg.

:35:05. > :35:09.That is when I came back to my senses and realised I was in a lot

:35:10. > :35:12.of pain I do not remember getting in or out of an ambulance, I just

:35:13. > :35:16.remember the pain I was in. When I saw my leg in a brace, I was in

:35:17. > :35:24.shock and horrified it was not nice to look at at all. My leg was open.

:35:25. > :35:28.I could not move or get up. I did not know what to do. When they took

:35:29. > :35:33.me to theatre, knowing I could wake up without a leg, that was the worst

:35:34. > :35:38.part. I woke up, it was the first thing I was looking for, to see if

:35:39. > :35:41.it was there. Luckily, for Daniel, the operation was a success. During

:35:42. > :35:50.his stay in hospital, tragedy struck once more. After days of having

:35:51. > :35:54.drugs pumped into me, the thirsty people there were my very close

:35:55. > :36:00.friends. That night, after they went, my friend had an accident and

:36:01. > :36:04.lost his life on a motorbike. That hurt me more than anything, not

:36:05. > :36:10.being able to go where he died and put some flowers down. Daniel stayed

:36:11. > :36:13.in hospital for nearly a month undergoing extensive reconstructive

:36:14. > :36:18.surgery of the incident has left him with a leg so badly damaged his

:36:19. > :36:22.whole life has changed. My leg will never be the same again. I have been

:36:23. > :36:28.told I will never be able to walk again properly. My son lives quite a

:36:29. > :36:33.long way away in Birmingham from where I am. I have not seen him

:36:34. > :36:38.since I have come out of hospital. With my accident and losing my

:36:39. > :36:41.friend on the same day it has changed my mind on things

:36:42. > :36:50.completely. Even though it was not my fault, I do not want to get on a

:36:51. > :36:54.bike again. It is one big nightmare. If the person who has done this to

:36:55. > :36:57.me is watching, I would like him to come forward and do the right thing.

:36:58. > :37:00.They do not realise how much they have wrecked my life and the turmoil

:37:01. > :37:03.turning it upside down. This really has had

:37:04. > :37:05.a huge impact on Daniel. I'm joined by PC Laura Loy

:37:06. > :37:08.from West Midlands Police. Laura, just go over what you know

:37:09. > :37:20.about this hit and run so far At about 1:20pm Monday the 11th of

:37:21. > :37:26.April, Daniel was riding his motorcycle when we believe a dark

:37:27. > :37:31.green Volvo estate, 2003 model, collided with Daniel. The driver

:37:32. > :37:37.fell to stop at the scene. The collision was on hogs Lane at the

:37:38. > :37:42.mini island. The vehicle was found burnt out in the hours of next

:37:43. > :37:47.morning. What information I looking for? Any witnesses to come forward.

:37:48. > :37:51.Anyone seeing the vehicle before or after the collision when leading up

:37:52. > :37:56.to when it was burned at the following morning. Do you have any

:37:57. > :37:58.information about the driver? An eyewitness saw a vehicle we believed

:37:59. > :38:04.to have been involved. The driver was described as a white male

:38:05. > :38:07.between 50 and 60 years with a fluorescent jacket. We would urge

:38:08. > :38:09.that driver to come forward and we would like to trace him. Back to

:38:10. > :38:12.you. Now it's time for a look

:38:13. > :38:15.at today's Wanted Faces. Detectives want to question him

:38:16. > :38:19.in connection with the kidnap, attempted rape and sexual assault

:38:20. > :38:20.of a woman. Waheeb is 33 with

:38:21. > :38:22.a Birmingham accent. He also has links to London

:38:23. > :38:25.and Essex, although it's believed Detectives want to question him

:38:26. > :38:30.about a stabbing at a flat in Romford in Essex

:38:31. > :38:32.earlier this year. He's 20 and has friends

:38:33. > :38:36.and family in London, He has a number of scars including

:38:37. > :38:41.ones on the left side Detectives in Derbyshire

:38:42. > :38:48.want to question him in connection with the indecent assault

:38:49. > :38:50.and rape of a young girl. This photo of Jackson was taken

:38:51. > :38:53.a number of years ago. He's now 62 and police believe

:38:54. > :38:56.he may look similar to this drawing. He has a number of tattoos

:38:57. > :39:01.on his left arm and back, Jackson has connections to Spain,

:39:02. > :39:07.especially to Alicante. Finally today we have Stephen Healy,

:39:08. > :39:09.although you may know him He was jailed for four years

:39:10. > :39:13.for burglary in 2012 But he's failed to stick

:39:14. > :39:19.to the terms of his release Healy is 39 and has links

:39:20. > :39:24.to Ireland, south London and Kent. If you recognise any of these faces

:39:25. > :39:30.make sure you get in touch. Well, I'm here with West Midlands

:39:31. > :39:39.Police and this morning, we've appealed for your help to find

:39:40. > :39:42.the driver who left motorcyclist Daniel with horrific injuries

:39:43. > :39:50.in a hit and run. Sergeant Richard Breeze

:39:51. > :40:00.from the force's Traffic Unit Talk me through the statistics. They

:40:01. > :40:05.make terrible reading. 1% of the road users making up 20% of all

:40:06. > :40:10.fatal road traffic collisions I investigate. We are talking around

:40:11. > :40:14.600 people each and every year on motorcycles are getting themselves

:40:15. > :40:19.killed. Extreme figures. We also saw earlier the training you do here for

:40:20. > :40:25.police motorcyclists. How are you using that to help civilian riders?

:40:26. > :40:29.Police riders are some of the best riders in the world. The advantage

:40:30. > :40:35.of the training we have, we are giving back to members of the

:40:36. > :40:41.public. Like Safe is a nationally run scheme for members of the

:40:42. > :40:47.public. -- Bike. We would love to pass on some of our knowledge.

:40:48. > :40:51.Talking about riding safe, we're also joined by Craig Jones, a

:40:52. > :40:54.professional rider. I have never been on a motorbike and you are

:40:55. > :40:58.going to take me through some safety things. Being on the back of a bike,

:40:59. > :41:03.you to have the knowledge of where your body position needs to be as

:41:04. > :41:09.important. You can help or hinder me. If you get body position right,

:41:10. > :41:16.on a very easy exercise like this, I will not even know you are there.

:41:17. > :41:21.350 kilograms, fully loaded, with a passenger on. It can be a problem

:41:22. > :41:28.for the rider. Let's see how we go. I shall hop on. This will be an

:41:29. > :41:34.interesting experience. This course is very simple. A series of six

:41:35. > :41:38.metre diameter circles. The distance between any curve to curve on any

:41:39. > :41:42.small road is way in excess of that. Believe it or not, many riders

:41:43. > :41:49.cannot turn around a bike in a small area like this. If I get my body to

:41:50. > :41:54.the outside, if you follow me to be outside in each case, then really

:41:55. > :42:01.this bike becomes an extension of me. I am just mirroring you, aren't

:42:02. > :42:05.I? Exactly. It is really interesting to see. I actually think I am

:42:06. > :42:07.getting the hang of this. You are really into your motorbike, so maybe

:42:08. > :42:15.I will join you on one sometime. Before we go, a quick look at what's

:42:16. > :42:22.been coming in on the phones. We have already had some names

:42:23. > :42:25.coming in relating to the Selly Oak attacks in Birmingham. You may never

:42:26. > :42:33.yesterday when we show you the malicious attack on the retired

:42:34. > :42:37.policeman. -- we showed you. Officers are chasing up a potential

:42:38. > :42:44.lead as a result of your information. Where are you going to

:42:45. > :42:47.be tomorrow? We're going to be leaving the West Midlands and

:42:48. > :42:50.heading to south Wales, where I will be learning how to carry out

:42:51. > :42:52.life-saving work in extreme conditions with the goal and tears

:42:53. > :43:00.from the mountain rescue team. We need your help to catch a gang who

:43:01. > :43:05.broke into a pet shop and store more than ?35,000 worth of stock,

:43:06. > :43:17.including a pet parrot. Make sure you join us then. For more

:43:18. > :43:27.information, go to the website. First, a look at the wanted faces

:43:28. > :44:03.again. Do get in touch if you can. Have a great day. Bye-bye.

:44:04. > :44:12.On the 30th of June, we'll be coming together

:44:13. > :44:18.to commemorate the centenery of the Battle of the Somme.

:44:19. > :44:22.Those who did so much for us are now all gone.
