:00:18. > :00:23.You Welcome back. It has been quite a night here at Crimewatch. Hundreds

:00:24. > :00:28.and hundreds of call, all the details in a moment. A reminder of

:00:29. > :00:34.tonight's special Madeleine McCann appeal.

:00:35. > :00:39.As I opened it a bit, I looked into the room. I guess I was looking at

:00:40. > :00:44.Madeleine's bed and I couldn't make her out. It was literally at that

:00:45. > :00:49.point, the curtains that were closed just kind of whoosh. Then I could

:00:50. > :00:54.see that the window had been pushed right over and the shutters were up.

:00:55. > :01:04.So I kind of knew straight away then that Madeleine had been taken.

:01:05. > :01:08.Well, DCI Andy Redwood is heading up the special investigation team.

:01:09. > :01:11.We've had hundreds of calls, the important thing is have we had

:01:12. > :01:17.important calls for you. We have. We've had an overwhelming response.

:01:18. > :01:22.We are so grateful to the public. We are fighting really hard for

:01:23. > :01:29.Madeleine McCann and the public are joining us in that fight. I can see

:01:30. > :01:33.your detectives sifting through the information. Can you tell me whether

:01:34. > :01:37.or not there are specific things, even though you might not be able to

:01:38. > :01:40.give me the detail of them that you are really interested in? We've had

:01:41. > :01:43.a number of calls from people actually in the resort at the time,

:01:44. > :01:47.which just really confirms to me the value of what we're doing this

:01:48. > :01:50.evening. There are still members of our community out there who have got

:01:51. > :01:53.key bits of information that could help us to unlock this case. These

:01:54. > :01:58.are bits of information you're really interested in. We should

:01:59. > :02:05.remind people of these e-fits that were released today. Just explain

:02:06. > :02:09.who this man is. Yes, these two e-fits are the same man, not in the

:02:10. > :02:13.public domain before. It's a chap walking down towards the sea, 10pm

:02:14. > :02:17.and in his arms is a child who has got blonde hair, three to four years

:02:18. > :02:20.of age, who on description looks like Madeleine McCann. It's really

:02:21. > :02:24.important for us to get a name for this individual. I think it's really

:02:25. > :02:28.useful to show people a map of where this man was walking, because again

:02:29. > :02:32.it's very different from what sighting that threw the thing off

:02:33. > :02:35.track for a while. Tell us where he was. The man is walking down towards

:02:36. > :02:41.the sea, towards the heart of the town. This route does not appear to

:02:42. > :02:45.be the route that we're taking as a quick escape route out of Praia da

:02:46. > :02:50.Luz. It's interesting to us to understand who he is. There were

:02:51. > :02:56.various sightings of what we are calling fair-haired men in and

:02:57. > :03:01.around the apartment where the McCanns were staying. One or two men

:03:02. > :03:05.lurking around the apartments on the day Madeleine went missing or on the

:03:06. > :03:09.days leading up to it. If this is you and it is innocent, have the

:03:10. > :03:12.courage to come forward. We have need to take out the innocent

:03:13. > :03:16.sightings. That's almost as important, isn't it, people to say

:03:17. > :03:21.I'm counting myself out. Burglaries at the time, there was a four fold

:03:22. > :03:25.increase and charity collections, quite unusual in a holiday resort.

:03:26. > :03:28.Yes very much so. On the day Madeleine went missing, four events

:03:29. > :03:33.during that afternoon, in a short window of time, very close to the

:03:34. > :03:37.apartment she was staying in. Two e-fits we've released this evening,

:03:38. > :03:40.names please. It's all on the website. Take a close look. Over to

:03:41. > :03:45.Matthew. Back to the shocking attempted

:03:46. > :03:52.murder of 27-year-old Atif Ali in Luton in May.

:03:53. > :03:56.I was just going to kneel down to rub the bumper and see if there was

:03:57. > :04:02.damage to it. As I'm getting back up and about to turn around, I heard a

:04:03. > :04:08.loud bang. I've had overall seven operations now on my leg. . The next

:04:09. > :04:12.morning I was told by the door I'd lost something along the lines of 18

:04:13. > :04:15.bags of blood. Iain Morgan is leading the case on this one. He's

:04:16. > :04:18.back with me. What has come in tonight? We've had really

:04:19. > :04:23.interesting information about the e-fits. We've been given a name and

:04:24. > :04:27.a locality. I have officers looking into that. We will develop that and

:04:28. > :04:31.see where that takes us. In the last five minutes, you've had a very

:04:32. > :04:37.interesting call about the weapon. Yes, interesting information about a

:04:38. > :04:42.sawn-off shot gun found in a sports bag in a county not far away,

:04:43. > :04:48.Bedfordshire. That firearm will be sent off for testing. We showed CCTV

:04:49. > :04:52.of the vehicles in our main programme. What information on that?

:04:53. > :04:56.We've had some information on the vehicles. I'm trying to trace the

:04:57. > :05:00.silver Mondeo, in the previous 24 hours to the shooting. I'm trying to

:05:01. > :05:10.get information on the people who may have walked away from that car,

:05:11. > :05:14.after it t it had been junked -- dumped. People who got out of that

:05:15. > :05:20.Mondeo must have got into another car. I'm also looking for the Audi

:05:21. > :05:25.A#. I believe the driver of that car might have vital information.

:05:26. > :05:32.Briefly, this attack, plenty of potential witnesses. Lots of people

:05:33. > :05:33.about, broad daylight, if people hadn't come to his side, this could

:05:34. > :05:38.have been so much worse. hadn't come to his side, this could

:05:39. > :05:41.have been so If you know anything, please call.

:05:42. > :05:45.Plenty of calls on the CCTV footage we showed you. You may remember the

:05:46. > :05:50.beardered man p responsible for thefts from a hotel in Bath. We've

:05:51. > :05:55.had interesting calls on him, giving two possible locations. Debitives

:05:56. > :05:59.will be -- detectives will be following those up. They really do

:06:00. > :06:04.need a name. There you are, it's just a week

:06:05. > :06:08.since the National Crime Agency was launched. Their very first

:06:09. > :06:14.operation, targeted suspected users of fraudulent identity documents.

:06:15. > :06:20.Criminals have numerous identities and they travel on one identity, get

:06:21. > :06:26.to perhaps an international hub, change their identity again and then

:06:27. > :06:32.travel on again. National Crime Agency, open the door! This

:06:33. > :06:37.operation means that we can stop that identity crime and stop their

:06:38. > :06:43.criminal activities by taking those dock uments and them -- dabbing

:06:44. > :06:46.uments and them out of -- documents and them out of circulation. Keith

:06:47. > :06:51.Bristow is with me again. I know it's been a busy week for you. Tell

:06:52. > :06:54.me about fake documents and fake identities, why do they matter? What

:06:55. > :06:58.are these people getting up to that you want them for? Serious and

:06:59. > :07:01.organised criminals use these documents to hide their true

:07:02. > :07:04.identity, which is an important part of their tool kit. Remember, these

:07:05. > :07:09.are people who choose a lifestyle, all about making money out of other

:07:10. > :07:14.people's misery. It's ease why I to think, fake documents, it all sounds

:07:15. > :07:17.romantic and glamorous. Buff these -- but these people perpetrate what

:07:18. > :07:21.sort of crimes? Some of the people on the screen at the moment, we need

:07:22. > :07:25.viewers' help because we want to bring them to justice. They're drug

:07:26. > :07:29.traffickers, involved in fraud, money laundering. These are serious

:07:30. > :07:34.criminals and we need the public's health. Lots of faces on our

:07:35. > :07:42.website. Thanks for joining us. Lots of calls coming in on wanted

:07:43. > :07:45.faces, Roger Limb. We had a call today saying they'd seen him today

:07:46. > :07:50.giving a description of the clothing he was wearing. Police will check up

:07:51. > :07:54.on that, as we speak. Howard Deloma Blackman, a call from someone saying

:07:55. > :07:57.he had -- they had seen him in London last week.

:07:58. > :08:01.There we are. That is about everything for now. Details on all

:08:02. > :08:06.of tonight's cases and lots of others are on the website. You can

:08:07. > :08:11.press red on your remote until midnight to look at the wanted faces

:08:12. > :08:15.and CCTV. Keep an eye on Twitter to see the latest on how your calls are

:08:16. > :08:19.helping to crack cases. From now, from everyone on the team, thank you

:08:20. > :08:25.very much for your calls. It keep calling, it makes a difference.
