:00:08. > :00:16.about her ordeal at the hands of a violent burglar.

:00:17. > :00:20.Opened the door and then all hell broke loose. Michael would be

:00:21. > :00:22.turning in his grave. We'll reveal previously unseen CCTV

:00:23. > :00:24.of the prime suspect. Also, new clues in the murder

:00:25. > :00:39.of a retired primary school teacher. We believe this person could hold

:00:40. > :00:40.vital information about who Joy's killer is.

:00:41. > :00:45.And the mystery of a body unearthed by workmen.

:00:46. > :00:50.Somebody will know who this is. Somebody's brother, somebody's son.

:00:51. > :01:16.Good evening and welcome to the final Crimewatch of the year.

:01:17. > :01:18.We're live for the next 60 minutes with the latest crime

:01:19. > :01:25.A full reconstruction of the shocking raid

:01:26. > :01:26.at Geraldine Winner's home in just a moment,

:01:27. > :01:30.of what else we have for you tonight.

:01:31. > :01:32.We've got our latest collection of wanted faces.

:01:33. > :01:35.The lines are open so get in touch straight away if you know

:01:36. > :01:49.It captured the voice of a violent pub robber.

:01:50. > :01:52.Also, tonight: A young woman waives her anonymity

:01:53. > :01:55.in a bid to catch the man who raped her on

:01:56. > :02:07.You will probably recognise this man here.

:02:08. > :02:09.This is the late film director Michael Winner and his wife

:02:10. > :02:11.Geraldine on their wedding day in 2011.

:02:12. > :02:14.They had known each other for over 50 years before they finally

:02:15. > :02:17.Sadly, the marriage was short-lived with Michael passing away

:02:18. > :02:25.Following his death Geraldine, who's now 77, subsequently downsized

:02:26. > :02:35.from their mansion to a flat in the Knightsbridge area of London.

:02:36. > :02:47.My shoulder was agony, my back was agony.

:02:48. > :02:54.You think, this isn't happening, it's just not true, it's just -

:02:55. > :03:03.I am opening something, I don't know what it is!

:03:04. > :03:05.Michael Winner was 77 when he finally married

:03:06. > :03:09.But his wife Geraldine had known him for a very long time

:03:10. > :03:15.And I've known him ever since, so that was like,

:03:16. > :03:20.But their marriage was tragically brief.

:03:21. > :03:30.Michael died less than two years later.

:03:31. > :03:38.He had the most fantastic sense of humour.

:03:39. > :03:43.He was the most exuberant, incredible person ever.

:03:44. > :03:46.Underneath all his bluff he was just like a little

:03:47. > :03:49.What I had with him was just wonderful.

:03:50. > :03:56.Since her husband's death, Geraldine has lived alone.

:03:57. > :03:59.On Friday the 9th of October, she was getting ready to go

:04:00. > :04:07.I finished packing because I was going to Paris the next day,

:04:08. > :04:15.thinking of all the different things I had to do.

:04:16. > :04:22.Then I went to the bank actually to get some extra money to get some

:04:23. > :04:26.I'd managed to organise everything, was all calm, and settled,

:04:27. > :04:34.and I just literally had to get into bed, go to sleep.

:04:35. > :04:36.Shortly after 10pm, Geraldine was just about to

:04:37. > :04:45.I saw there were a few newspapers, so I thought, I'll just put both

:04:46. > :04:55.Opened the door, and then all hell broke loose.

:04:56. > :05:01.You think, this isn't happening, it's just not true, it's just -

:05:02. > :05:06.I went to grab her hair, to bash her if I could,

:05:07. > :05:14.I was petrified, but at the same time I was, you know,

:05:15. > :05:20.I went to grab the kettle to hit her with the kettle,

:05:21. > :05:24.but then she grabbed it out of my hand and hit me on the head.

:05:25. > :05:30.But I had curlers in my hair, rollers.

:05:31. > :05:36.But she caught hold of my forehead ? twice ? and that's where

:05:37. > :05:41.And that's when I thought I better stop fighting now or I could end up

:05:42. > :05:47.While Geraldine lay helpless on the floor, her attacker made sure

:05:48. > :05:55.She put her foot on my back, pressed very hard and said,

:05:56. > :06:01.shut up, don't make any noise, otherwise I'll kill you.

:06:02. > :06:12.That's what she said, I'll knife you.

:06:13. > :06:15.Geraldine's hands and feet were bound with cable ties.

:06:16. > :06:28.For the next three hours, Geraldine lay there,

:06:29. > :06:32.while the intruder meticulously cherry-picked her way

:06:33. > :06:54.She asked precisely for money and the jewellery.

:06:55. > :07:02.I told her where the money was. The money I was taking to Paris.

:07:03. > :07:05.I could hear her zipping a bag up, obviously where she was

:07:06. > :07:11.With my hands behind my back I was in terrible pain.

:07:12. > :07:26.And my finger was broken, I'd seen that.

:07:27. > :07:31.you wanted her to take what she wants and go just go.

:07:32. > :07:37.She suddenly asked for a specific piece of jewellery which was in

:07:38. > :07:53.It was a little heart that Michael bought me.

:07:54. > :07:59.the monetary value was not what counted, what counted

:08:00. > :08:01.was the memory of it - the sentimental.

:08:02. > :08:04.That it was Michael that brought it for me.

:08:05. > :08:07.It was after one in the morning before the burglar finally

:08:08. > :08:10.made her exit, trying to remove all evidence of her identity

:08:11. > :08:18.The attack has left its mark on Geraldine.

:08:19. > :08:22.It's just made me realise there are really evil people

:08:23. > :08:36.It's the trauma of what's happened to you.

:08:37. > :08:40.If I wake up in the middle of the night and I'm terrified

:08:41. > :08:44.somebody's gonna hit me on the head again.

:08:45. > :08:49.I now need someone in the spare room.

:08:50. > :08:57.My memories with Michael, and everything with Michael ?

:08:58. > :09:05.And Michael would just be turning in his grave,

:09:06. > :09:18.Well, we're joined now by the officer overseeing this case

:09:19. > :09:21.who many of you will recognise as DCI Jane Corrigan,

:09:22. > :09:27.a long-standing friend of the programme.

:09:28. > :09:33.We welcome you back tonight. This was vicious and calculating?

:09:34. > :09:38.Yes, this was a terrifying ordeal which lasted around three hours.

:09:39. > :09:48.Mrs winner is in her 70s and this has taken its toll. We should say

:09:49. > :09:58.that the security arrangements in her flat have now been completely

:09:59. > :10:01.changed. I have never had a case with a woman attacker like this. We

:10:02. > :10:12.are now looking at the CCTV. The suspect is described

:10:13. > :10:15.by the victim as being slim and very well dressed, wearing a long black

:10:16. > :10:18.coat, black boots and a large, Mrs Winner has described

:10:19. > :10:37.her attacker as having We know she entered the premises at

:10:38. > :10:43.about 7:30pm. She left and took this long route to Kensington high

:10:44. > :10:47.Street. We know she was therefore a good long time and helped herself to

:10:48. > :10:54.a lot of stuff. Take through for some of the more significant items?

:10:55. > :11:01.She asked for the heart-shaped pendant. Maybe she has kept it or

:11:02. > :11:06.maybe she has sold it on. There was also a diamond encrusted Cartier

:11:07. > :11:12.watch with a nice bracelet. And we also had some diamond earrings,

:11:13. > :11:15.anchor shaped. These are all very beautiful but something we saw her

:11:16. > :11:22.take which was not particularly valuable? Yes, the kettle. Because

:11:23. > :11:30.it is large she may have disposed of it quickly and street cleaner have

:11:31. > :11:35.found it in a bin. We know there is a reward? Yes, there is a ?10,000

:11:36. > :11:44.reward leading to the arrest and prosecution of this woman. Thank you

:11:45. > :11:46.for updating us on this case. An horrific ordeal for Geraldine,

:11:47. > :11:53.particularly after losing her husband.

:11:54. > :11:56.If you can help, please call now on our usual number 0500 600 600.

:11:57. > :11:58.Detectives are standing by for your calls.

:11:59. > :12:02.A round up of the latest crime news now.

:12:03. > :12:13.Radio DJ Neil Fox has been cleared of sexually abusing fans and

:12:14. > :12:17.colleagues. He has always denied the allegations. Mr Fox broke down in

:12:18. > :12:22.tears as the verdict was read out in court. Outside he said it had been

:12:23. > :12:26.an arduous journey. I strenuously denied all of the

:12:27. > :12:31.allegations and today I have been vindicated. It has been a long, hard

:12:32. > :12:35.and stressful 14 months, and a lot has been said and written about me

:12:36. > :12:41.in that time that over the next few days, weeks and months will have to

:12:42. > :12:44.be addressed and rectified. The defence started today in the

:12:45. > :12:49.Hatton Garden jewellery heist. The burglary was the biggest in British

:12:50. > :12:55.history netting some ?40 million for the gang. The jury have previously

:12:56. > :13:01.heard that some of the stash of stunning jewels were buried under

:13:02. > :13:04.Graves. Four men have already admitted conspiracy to commit

:13:05. > :13:10.burglary. Four others deny involvement in the raid and the

:13:11. > :13:12.trial continues. Crimewatch has previously covered

:13:13. > :13:20.stories of drugs being hidden in rugs. Now 1.5 tonnes of compressed

:13:21. > :13:24.cocaine have been found disguised as wooden pallets and charcoal. The

:13:25. > :13:30.seizure was made by the National Crime Agency and Spanish police on a

:13:31. > :13:31.shipping container travelling from Colombia to Valencia. 11 people have

:13:32. > :13:35.been arrested. Now, the Grinches who've stolen

:13:36. > :13:37.Christmas. Police in Manchester have today

:13:38. > :13:41.released this CCTV of three offenders stealing the trees

:13:42. > :13:44.from a shop in Chorlton in November. 190 trees were taken in two separate

:13:45. > :13:47.raids by the men, who loaded them If you recognise them,

:13:48. > :13:57.do get in touch. Finally, a mum has said "thank you"

:13:58. > :14:00.to a burglar for stealing thousands of pounds worth of items,

:14:01. > :14:03.including Christmas presents, 27-year-old Alexandra Mahjour,

:14:04. > :14:11.who's also pregnant wrote a post on Facebook thanking the burglars

:14:12. > :14:14.for making her "feel the real She said the loss of things

:14:15. > :14:19.like her television, meant they've "talked more

:14:20. > :14:22.as a family" and that their young son believes the gifts

:14:23. > :14:37.were hidden by an elf. How do you solve a murder

:14:38. > :14:39.when you have no idea That's the challenge facing

:14:40. > :14:45.Thames Valley Police after human remains were discovered

:14:46. > :14:49.in Bracknell in July. Tonight we'll be exclusively

:14:50. > :14:51.revealing a potentially significant breakthrough in the case,

:14:52. > :14:53.but first here's what detectives On 24th July, workmen clearing

:14:54. > :15:31.ditches in Bracknell made Boys, I think you need to come

:15:32. > :15:50.and take a look at this. Buried in a shallow grave

:15:51. > :15:58.was the skeleton of a man. Skeletal remains by its very nature

:15:59. > :16:01.suggest that it's been The difficulty with this case

:16:02. > :16:06.which is really unusual is we didn't know who this person was,

:16:07. > :16:27.where they were from, It is crucial to identify whose

:16:28. > :16:31.bones have been recovered, once you get that you get lots of lines of

:16:32. > :16:36.enquiry which will help you identify who they have been mixing with, who

:16:37. > :16:40.their family are, you can build a wider picture of who the person is

:16:41. > :16:50.and that could lead you to emotive and who has committed this crime.

:16:51. > :16:54.The bones had been wrapped in bin bags and then again in a blanket

:16:55. > :16:58.and the only item of clothing that was on the remains

:16:59. > :17:04.was a jumper, no other clothing was found on the body.

:17:05. > :17:07.The post mortem revealed that the male skeleton had received

:17:08. > :17:13.injuries to both sides of his temple, these

:17:14. > :17:15.were catastrophic injuries caused by what's called blunt force trauma,

:17:16. > :17:20.We also found that the male had a broken nose and we were also able

:17:21. > :17:23.to tell through the anthropology that the male was probably around

:17:24. > :17:30.That he would have been of a stocky build and that he would also have

:17:31. > :17:34.had some form of trauma to his lower back that his friends and relatives

:17:35. > :17:38.Further from the work that we've done that was matched

:17:39. > :17:41.with the dentistry was that we were able to establish as age for this

:17:42. > :17:47.gentleman of probably around 30-40 years of age.

:17:48. > :17:49.One distinctive feature forensic teams found were the veneers

:17:50. > :18:02.The gentleman had a very healthy set of teeth actually, he didn't need

:18:03. > :18:05.the veneers they were there for show, they are quite expensive

:18:06. > :18:08.veneers as well and he had seven done which is a very unusual figure

:18:09. > :18:11.Of those seven, one of those had been repaired.

:18:12. > :18:14.The work itself could have been private or NHS,

:18:15. > :18:16.probably carried out in the UK but may have been carried out

:18:17. > :18:23.We actually used his tooth and sent it to a DNA specialist to extract

:18:24. > :18:29.DNA from the tooth and from that we've managed to get

:18:30. > :18:34.We've searched on our databases but unfortunately haven't matched it

:18:35. > :18:44.With no DNA match the next step for detectives was to send

:18:45. > :18:48.the remains to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for a CT scan in order

:18:49. > :18:57.Very rarely used but on this occasion it was going to be the only

:18:58. > :19:00.way we were going to have a possibility of getting

:19:01. > :19:03.Of course once you've got that picture you've got something

:19:04. > :19:12.The scans were sent to Dr Christopher Rynn.

:19:13. > :19:14.A professor at the University of Dundee who specialises

:19:15. > :19:25.We got the CT scan of the skull and we can use computer software

:19:26. > :19:30.to convert that into a 3D model and there's this armature that's

:19:31. > :19:33.attached to the computer and you can move it in 3D and it has haptic

:19:34. > :19:36.feedback which means you can actually feel the skull

:19:37. > :19:44.The first thing that we would do with the skull model is to add

:19:45. > :19:49.the tissue depth pegs that represent how thick the facial soft tissues

:19:50. > :19:54.would have been, on average and then we use anatomical sculpture to fill

:19:55. > :19:57.in the gaps between to pegs and estimate the muscles

:19:58. > :20:08.The position of the features relative to one another is quite

:20:09. > :20:12.important and that is dictated very definitely by the skull

:20:13. > :20:15.except for the mouth, so what you find is that the eyes

:20:16. > :20:23.and the nose are more accurate than the lip shape.

:20:24. > :20:26.We can't tell things like skin tone and hair colour and eye colour

:20:27. > :20:34.If that is present at the scene then it's a different matter,

:20:35. > :20:38.but just from the skull we are good at estimating the face shape.

:20:39. > :20:41.It's very unusual to use these skills, but we can see

:20:42. > :20:44.from the results that the professionalism and the expertise

:20:45. > :20:54.From the CT scan of the skull, to the facial reconstruction,

:20:55. > :20:56.detectives now have a picture of what the man may

:20:57. > :21:07.He has quite a strong brow line where his eyebrows are and that's

:21:08. > :21:09.very distinctive and would have been distinctive to anybody

:21:10. > :21:15.Matched with the dentistry he would have had this smile

:21:16. > :21:19.which would have been very, very white and very noticeable,

:21:20. > :21:26.so in those terms facially he's got quite a distinctive face.

:21:27. > :21:32.Somebody's brother, somebody's son maybe a father.

:21:33. > :21:36.That person will know instantly who this person is.

:21:37. > :21:44.The facial reconstruction for us is a pivotal part of the enquiry.

:21:45. > :21:47.It's given a face to that missing person and I believe the public

:21:48. > :21:51.will be able to tell us who that person is and identify them and that

:21:52. > :21:53.will take our investigation a big stride forward in identifying

:21:54. > :22:00.the people who have committed this crime.

:22:01. > :22:08.Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Brown joins me now.

:22:09. > :22:14.That was a fascinating report, a lot of information you want people to

:22:15. > :22:20.help you with, would it be fair to say this is an unusual case? It is

:22:21. > :22:23.very unusual, very rare to have a murder investigation where you don't

:22:24. > :22:26.know the identity of the victim and because we don't know that it's

:22:27. > :22:31.difficult to piece together how the victim was murdered and Hubei. What

:22:32. > :22:38.wasn't included in that film was that there has been, a breakthrough,

:22:39. > :22:42.it sounds important to me, tell us? We had the DNA as you saw in the

:22:43. > :22:46.film which was sent for international comparison and it has

:22:47. > :22:50.come back with the partial family identity match with a lady from

:22:51. > :22:54.Lithuania. And fortunately the lady passed away in May this year so

:22:55. > :22:59.enquiries in that direction are difficult but we do know she

:23:00. > :23:06.reported her son missing in 2008. So tonight we are revealing a

:23:07. > :23:11.photograph of her son. He came to the UK in 2004 and we know very

:23:12. > :23:17.little about him since that time. He has some similarities to the facial

:23:18. > :23:23.reconstruction. He does. Guess but I cannot say they are the same person.

:23:24. > :23:29.We need to know information about him. And there is the part of the

:23:30. > :23:35.equation as to who killed him. Yes, if anyone has any information about

:23:36. > :23:43.who killed him, why they killed him and why it ended up in Bracknell,

:23:44. > :23:46.any information will help us. We are looking for the facial

:23:47. > :23:50.reconstruction, who is that person? Not forgetting the veneers we

:23:51. > :23:55.covered in the film, bright white, someone will know those. Secondly,

:23:56. > :24:00.we need to know where he was in the UK, who has worked with and his

:24:01. > :24:04.associates, any information will be used in the investigation. And

:24:05. > :24:13.thirdly any other information about how this person came to be murdered

:24:14. > :24:17.and end up in Bracknell. It is join together all the strands. Thank you

:24:18. > :24:22.very much for taking the time to talk to us to night. If you know

:24:23. > :24:26.anything about this man or how those remains came to be burried call us

:24:27. > :24:30.on the usual number. Right, still to come tonight:

:24:31. > :24:33.The new search for a potentially crucial witness, to the murder

:24:34. > :24:44.of retired primary school teacher We believe this person could hold

:24:45. > :24:48.vital information as to who her killer is. We have managed to trace

:24:49. > :24:56.everyone else who entered and exited the building except this person.

:24:57. > :25:00.Although he also calls himself Elvis Rutherford,

:25:01. > :25:04.Ian Rutherford, Edin Andrews or just Aaron.

:25:05. > :25:07.He's 56 and failed to turn up at court where he was due to stand

:25:08. > :25:09.trial for a number of child sexual assault charges.

:25:10. > :25:13.He walks with a limp and often has a border collie dog with him.

:25:14. > :25:15.If you're in Northern Ireland, Nottinghamshire, Surrey,

:25:16. > :25:18.Kent or London, keep an eye out for him as he has links

:25:19. > :25:23.Next is this man, Yanick Baptista although he also uses

:25:24. > :25:28.He was due in court on drug dealing and money laundering charges

:25:29. > :25:33.Baptista is 25 and has links across Hampshire and to Manchester.

:25:34. > :25:36.He's described as dangerous, so don't approach.

:25:37. > :25:42.Just dial 999 if you know where he is.

:25:43. > :25:46.Number three is Mansori Tlah Ganom but he too uses other names.

:25:47. > :25:48.Detectives want to question him in connection with the rape

:25:49. > :25:51.of a woman in Reading in June this year and also

:25:52. > :25:57.The 37-year-old is originally from Iraq and has links to London.

:25:58. > :26:01.Finally for now is 29-year-old Joseph Richardson Eaton,

:26:02. > :26:05.or Paul Jenkins as he sometimes calls himself.

:26:06. > :26:09.He failed to turn up to Preston Crown Court in connection
