0:00:35 > 0:00:37Ooh, bloody hell!
0:00:37 > 0:00:40Fasten your seatbelts, because each week,

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Oh, my God!
0:00:55 > 0:00:57My flaming car!
0:00:57 > 0:01:00And what they don't know is that their parents
0:01:00 > 0:01:03will be watching their every manoeuvre.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06The cars are fitted with state of the art cameras,

0:01:14 > 0:01:16Oh, my God!
0:01:16 > 0:01:18Each team will go on three road trips,
0:01:18 > 0:01:22geared towards testing every aspect of their driving.
0:01:22 > 0:01:26And at the end of it all, aided and abetted by a former traffic cop,
0:01:26 > 0:01:29the parents will have a decision to make.
0:01:29 > 0:01:30I weren't happy with her.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32I find it really hard to keep my mouth shut.
0:01:32 > 0:01:35If they don't like the way the teens operate behind the wheel,
0:01:35 > 0:01:39both of them could end up with advanced diving lessons.
0:01:39 > 0:01:41But if they think they're good enough,
0:01:41 > 0:01:44we'll give the parents the cash
0:01:44 > 0:01:47to buy their kids a car they can call their very own.
0:01:49 > 0:01:53Tonight, we meet two teens who love life.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58who wants to be Yorkshire's answer to Katie Price...
0:01:58 > 0:02:00What am I doing? What am I doing?

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Mate, did you see the car swing back there?
0:02:05 > 0:02:06I thought it was going to tip!
0:02:06 > 0:02:10Will it be a reward or retribution for either of these teens,
0:02:10 > 0:02:13when their parents get to see them behind the wheel?
0:02:13 > 0:02:15Whoa! What are you doing?
0:02:15 > 0:02:17Oh, my God! That's ridiculous!
0:02:17 > 0:02:20Can I go?
0:02:20 > 0:02:22- I'm not, I'm not, I'm not.- Ooh!
0:02:23 > 0:02:26Welcome to Barely Legal Drivers.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32This is 19-year-old Amy Smith,
0:02:32 > 0:02:36a business student living at home near Halifax, Yorkshire,
0:02:36 > 0:02:38with divorced mum, Lisa.
0:02:39 > 0:02:42Amy has her heart set on becoming a glamour model.
0:02:42 > 0:02:45The modelling dream, like, started with Katie Price.
0:02:45 > 0:02:47She really, really does inspire me,
0:02:47 > 0:02:50cos obviously, she's come from nothing, and built her way up.
0:02:50 > 0:02:54Like her heroine, Amy loves the limelight when she's out.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57As mum Lisa knows only too well.
0:02:57 > 0:03:00Amy looks a little bit like a Katie Price stunt double,
0:03:00 > 0:03:03and she looks pretty much like a hooker,
0:03:03 > 0:03:07with the clothes that she wears. But she's actually very intelligent.
0:03:07 > 0:03:11There's a brain under there...somewhere!
0:03:11 > 0:03:13The family recently had a big scare.
0:03:14 > 0:03:17Mother's Day last year, I went to work and collapsed,
0:03:17 > 0:03:20and I woke up in intensive care,
0:03:20 > 0:03:23and that's when they discovered that I had a brain tumour.
0:03:23 > 0:03:27It was news that had a huge impact on Amy's relationship with her mum.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30I just feel a lot more protective of her.
0:03:30 > 0:03:31I don't like leaving her on her own.
0:03:31 > 0:03:35If I sleep at my boyfriend's, I'll only sleep one night and come back.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37You know, and going on holiday,
0:03:37 > 0:03:39I don't like the idea of going on holiday,
0:03:39 > 0:03:41because I don't want to leave her.
0:03:41 > 0:03:44Lisa's sister, Amanda, has witnessed first-hand
0:03:44 > 0:03:46how Amy's life has changed.
0:03:46 > 0:03:50It made Amy grow up really, really quickly.
0:03:50 > 0:03:53Because her mum's been ill for a year, really.
0:03:53 > 0:03:57And, unfortunately, she's had a lot of responsibility.
0:03:57 > 0:04:00But she's handled it really well, and she just gets on with it,
0:04:00 > 0:04:01and she doesn't complain.
0:04:01 > 0:04:05They don't come across as mother and daughter,
0:04:05 > 0:04:09which is where I step in and occasionally act like the mother.
0:04:09 > 0:04:12Although Mum, Lisa, is on the road to recovery,
0:04:12 > 0:04:15life still hasn't got back to normal.
0:04:15 > 0:04:17When I went to see the consultant in Leeds,
0:04:17 > 0:04:21he said having the operation would mean I wouldn't be able to drive.
0:04:21 > 0:04:23To be honest, that was worse than the tumour!
0:04:23 > 0:04:24I can't be without a car!
0:04:24 > 0:04:27Obviously, she hasn't got her licence back now,
0:04:27 > 0:04:30so I've got a driving licence, but no car, so a car would just mean...
0:04:30 > 0:04:32It would just make everything a lot easier.
0:04:32 > 0:04:35She's got a lot of appointments as well, at the hospital.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38It would be nice to take her, rather than getting on a train
0:04:38 > 0:04:40at six, seven o'clock in the morning.
0:04:40 > 0:04:45There's no doubt a car would transform Amy and Lisa's lives.
0:04:45 > 0:04:48First though, Mum, Lisa, will need to secretly watch Amy's week
0:04:48 > 0:04:51both behind the wheel and when she's partying.
0:04:51 > 0:04:54As a mother, I'm worried for her safety,
0:04:54 > 0:04:57cos she hasn't got any experience whatsoever.
0:04:57 > 0:05:01But I'm dying to see what she's like when I'm not there.
0:05:01 > 0:05:03I hope she doesn't embarrass me too much!
0:05:07 > 0:05:09This is 19-year-old James Hebb,
0:05:09 > 0:05:11an identical twin from Middlesbrough,
0:05:11 > 0:05:14who was born six minutes before his brother, Brian.
0:05:14 > 0:05:16My mum and dad couldn't tell us apart when we were young,
0:05:16 > 0:05:18hence why as 14-years-old, we got tattoos on our arms.
0:05:18 > 0:05:21We got our names, James and Brian, on our arms,
0:05:21 > 0:05:23so that they can tell the difference!
0:05:23 > 0:05:25We have our arguments, obviously,
0:05:25 > 0:05:28but he'll never put me second above a girl.
0:05:28 > 0:05:30No matter how much he loved her.
0:05:30 > 0:05:32He'd always put his family and me first.
0:05:32 > 0:05:34The twins' parents divorced a few years ago,
0:05:34 > 0:05:37and the split has made the boys protective of their mum, Dawn.
0:05:37 > 0:05:39They do show me loads of love
0:05:39 > 0:05:41and they'll kiss me and cuddle me all the time.
0:05:41 > 0:05:44To me, it's like having £1 million in the bank anyway,
0:05:44 > 0:05:46because they're priceless.
0:05:46 > 0:05:49James and Brian used to work together as scaffolders,
0:05:49 > 0:05:51but were both made redundant.
0:05:51 > 0:05:54When Brian got an apprenticeship with the Fire Brigade,
0:05:54 > 0:05:56James was left jobless.
0:05:56 > 0:06:00When Brian found a job as a fireman, I was happy for him.
0:06:00 > 0:06:01Girls love a fireman, don't they?
0:06:01 > 0:06:03And he's got a sleeve tattoo as well.
0:06:03 > 0:06:05So it's like he's got the perfect little job.
0:06:05 > 0:06:06Like a little role model.
0:06:06 > 0:06:07I feel sorry for him a bit.
0:06:07 > 0:06:10Seeing I've got a wage coming in, and he's struggling.
0:06:10 > 0:06:12It's affected all of us, really, cos it gets him depressed.
0:06:12 > 0:06:15When he's depressed, I get depressed.
0:06:15 > 0:06:17I've applied for hundreds of jobs this year,
0:06:17 > 0:06:20but it's just the time and the place of getting them.
0:06:20 > 0:06:25James's main consolation at the moment is pulling girls,
0:06:25 > 0:06:28and being an identical twin makes it twice as fun.
0:06:28 > 0:06:30You can do anything you want, being a twin,
0:06:30 > 0:06:32because no-one knows the difference between you.
0:06:32 > 0:06:35You look identical, so you can do whatever you want.
0:06:35 > 0:06:38Now, chasing girls has taken a front seat in his life.
0:06:38 > 0:06:40Which hasn't always been problem free,
0:06:40 > 0:06:44like the time James was driving his mum's car.
0:06:44 > 0:06:46I was going to meet a girl, and I couldn't find her,
0:06:46 > 0:06:49and I was on my phone. There was a car behind me,
0:06:49 > 0:06:51and it was an undercover one. I didn't know.
0:06:51 > 0:06:53I was driving with my phone in my hand,
0:06:53 > 0:06:55so I was all over the road cos I was concentrating on my phone,
0:06:55 > 0:06:58and then he was, like, right touching the back end of my car.
0:06:58 > 0:07:01So I put my foot down, trying to get away from him,
0:07:01 > 0:07:03and then the next thing, he put his lights on.
0:07:03 > 0:07:04He's been caught, so hopefully now,
0:07:04 > 0:07:07if he's got any sense, he shouldn't be speeding.
0:07:07 > 0:07:09If he is, well, I'll be shocked.
0:07:11 > 0:07:13Neither Amy or James have any idea
0:07:13 > 0:07:16that their skills behind the wheel will be put to the test,
0:07:16 > 0:07:18and that both of them could be
0:07:18 > 0:07:21driving into the sunset in a motor of their own.
0:07:27 > 0:07:30It's teatime in West Yorkshire, and Amy, her mum, Lisa,
0:07:30 > 0:07:34and Auntie Amanda are about to sit down to a takeaway.
0:07:34 > 0:07:37Strict Auntie Amanda isn't overly keen
0:07:37 > 0:07:39about Amy's ambitions to be a glamour model.
0:07:39 > 0:07:42Do you want to be the next Katie Price?
0:07:42 > 0:07:44No, better than that!
0:07:44 > 0:07:45Yeah, why not?
0:07:45 > 0:07:48You know, as long as you make pots of money...
0:07:48 > 0:07:51- I'm not bothered for fame. Just go for the fortune!- Go for both!
0:07:51 > 0:07:54Auntie...sensible one.
0:07:54 > 0:07:56Stupid one.
0:07:56 > 0:07:59But there's also something Amy really needs to get off her chest.
0:07:59 > 0:08:03There's one little decision that I made that you don't know about.
0:08:03 > 0:08:05- AMY GIGGLES - Do you know this?- Yeah.
0:08:05 > 0:08:07I had a boob job!
0:08:07 > 0:08:10- SHE SHOUTS - You have not! She has not!
0:08:10 > 0:08:12No, don't!
0:08:12 > 0:08:15- SHE SCREECHES - Don't!- Only a little...
0:08:15 > 0:08:17THEY LAUGH
0:08:17 > 0:08:21- Oh, my God!- No! God, you're joking!
0:08:21 > 0:08:23Can I just say, it was completely Amy's decision.
0:08:23 > 0:08:24She'd already decided.
0:08:24 > 0:08:27Well, I'm not happy about it,
0:08:27 > 0:08:28but we'll discuss it later.
0:08:28 > 0:08:31With Amy's boob job exposed,
0:08:31 > 0:08:35Auntie Amanda grudgingly brings up the subject of driving.
0:08:35 > 0:08:37I did have a nice surprise for you.
0:08:37 > 0:08:39But I'm just thinking now that you're not going to get it!
0:08:39 > 0:08:41Why, what is it?
0:08:41 > 0:08:45- I was going to see how responsible you were.- Why?
0:08:45 > 0:08:47- By doing what?- By...
0:08:48 > 0:08:50..insuring my car for you to drive.
0:08:50 > 0:08:51AMY GASPS For me?
0:08:51 > 0:08:54Yes. Right, it's not for ever.
0:08:54 > 0:08:55It's only for a short while.
0:08:55 > 0:08:57Ooh, thank you, Auntie Mand!
0:08:57 > 0:09:00- SHE GROANS - I'm not entirely thrilled.
0:09:00 > 0:09:04I WAS thrilled, till about an hour ago.
0:09:04 > 0:09:05What Amy doesn't know
0:09:05 > 0:09:08is the only reason she's getting her aunt's car for the week
0:09:08 > 0:09:11is so that they can secretly watch her behind the wheel
0:09:11 > 0:09:14to see if she's really ready for a car of her own.
0:09:23 > 0:09:27Over in Middlesbrough, James's mum Dawn
0:09:27 > 0:09:30is cooking a local classic for her hungry twins.
0:09:30 > 0:09:34Breaded chicken with a cheesy sauce, known as parmo. Mmm!
0:09:34 > 0:09:36Mam, I think I'm anorexic now.
0:09:36 > 0:09:38Son, it's nearly done.
0:09:38 > 0:09:40Just another ten minutes.
0:09:40 > 0:09:43It said it 8-10 minutes for these escalopes.
0:09:43 > 0:09:46It was eight minutes, 20 minutes ago!
0:09:46 > 0:09:49This week, James will be getting around in his mum's motor,
0:09:49 > 0:09:52and already has his week planned out.
0:09:52 > 0:09:55- I'll need the car, Saturday.- Right.
0:09:55 > 0:09:58We're going to go to Newcastle on Monday.
0:09:58 > 0:10:00So I'm going to need the car, like, literally...
0:10:00 > 0:10:02- Quite a bit.- ..the full week.
0:10:02 > 0:10:04That's not a problem. Not a problem.
0:10:04 > 0:10:05- Is that all right?- Yeah, yeah.
0:10:05 > 0:10:09Any last-minute phone calls saying, "Brian, we're in Newcastle,"
0:10:09 > 0:10:11it's tough luck, you know.
0:10:11 > 0:10:12Little do the twins know,
0:10:12 > 0:10:17mum Dawn's week is now going to be spent watching James's every move.
0:10:23 > 0:10:2685 miles south, Amy and her best mate, Robin
0:10:26 > 0:10:29are getting ready to drive to Leeds,
0:10:29 > 0:10:34where she's planning to buy new bras to fit her recent boob job.
0:10:34 > 0:10:36As the girls leave, there's just enough time
0:10:36 > 0:10:39for some last, encouraging words from mum, Lisa.
0:10:39 > 0:10:43Be careful! It's your Auntie Mandy's pride and joy.
0:10:43 > 0:10:44I'm YOUR pride and joy!
0:10:44 > 0:10:46Sorry, you're my pride and joy.

0:10:48 > 0:10:51- Love you!- Love you! Have fun, don't go too fast!- We won't.
0:10:53 > 0:10:58From Amy's home to the lingerie shop in Leeds is just over 25 miles.
0:10:58 > 0:11:00But the route means Amy will need to drive
0:11:00 > 0:11:02on two different motorways to get there.
0:11:02 > 0:11:07And it'll be the first time Amy has EVER driven on a motorway.
0:11:07 > 0:11:09I'm so scared.
0:11:09 > 0:11:13Like, petrifi-hi-hied!
0:11:13 > 0:11:15Once on the motorway,
0:11:15 > 0:11:20it quickly becomes apparent that speeding isn't going to be an issue.
0:11:20 > 0:11:23- More speed, babe. - What do you mean, more speed?
0:11:23 > 0:11:26- More speed! - Don't encourage me to speed!
0:11:26 > 0:11:28Everything's going smoothly.
0:11:28 > 0:11:30No panicking. We're going the right speed...
0:11:30 > 0:11:34Not sure doing half the recommended speed limit is RIGHT...
0:11:34 > 0:11:36Oh, here?
0:11:36 > 0:11:38Well, albeit it at a snail's pace,
0:11:38 > 0:11:40they've made it to Leeds in one piece.

0:11:59 > 0:12:01OK, well, they're looking really lovely.

0:12:05 > 0:12:08You need to start respecting your boobs now.

0:12:10 > 0:12:12- of the bra that you had on. - I like that one.
0:12:12 > 0:12:14- Can you see the difference there? - Yeah.
0:12:14 > 0:12:16I quite like the shape that one gives me as well, you know.
0:12:16 > 0:12:19Think the one that I'll go for is the black and pink one.
0:12:19 > 0:12:21OK, all right.
0:12:21 > 0:12:23As if I'm an F! I thought I'd be, like, a D!

0:12:38 > 0:12:42But Amy's lack of driving experience rears its ugly head again,

0:12:44 > 0:12:45- Are you sure?- Yeah.
0:12:47 > 0:12:50CAR HORN BEEPS Ooh!
0:12:51 > 0:12:53That REALLY was close!
0:12:53 > 0:12:56Crossing those road markings could've easily caused a crash.
0:13:00 > 0:13:04With the light fading, Amy safely makes it home half an hour later.
0:13:11 > 0:13:13The following day, Amy's mum, Lisa,
0:13:13 > 0:13:16has secretly travelled to her sister's house
0:13:16 > 0:13:18to see her daughter's first journey.
0:13:18 > 0:13:21And they can't wait to watch Amy's driving behind her back.
0:13:21 > 0:13:24Come on, then. Let's begin!
0:13:24 > 0:13:27- THEY LAUGH - Press play!
0:13:27 > 0:13:29'Don't encourage me to speed!
0:13:29 > 0:13:31'Everything's going smoothly.
0:13:31 > 0:13:33'No panicking, we're going the right speed...'
0:13:33 > 0:13:36- THEY LAUGH - Ooh!
0:13:40 > 0:13:42I said to you...
0:13:42 > 0:13:46My daughter's speed is embarrassing me a little bit!
0:13:46 > 0:13:49I thought that she was going to be a speed queen, but, no!
0:13:49 > 0:13:53CAR HORN BEEPS Ooh!
0:13:53 > 0:13:55THEY LAUGH AND SQUEAL
0:13:55 > 0:13:58- Oh, no!- She lived! - No, she didn't!
0:13:58 > 0:14:02She was lucky there, because that is just incredibly dangerous.
0:14:02 > 0:14:05Well, the maiden voyage is out of the way, and she's alive!
0:14:07 > 0:14:09Yeah, but there's two more to go.
0:14:09 > 0:14:11- BOTH: God. - Break out the drink.
0:14:11 > 0:14:13I don't want to know when they are.
0:14:13 > 0:14:17- But she survived. She survived. - Yes. It's been emotional.
0:14:17 > 0:14:21Amy will have to make sure there are no more dangerous manoeuvres
0:14:21 > 0:14:24if she's going to get that car.
0:14:27 > 0:14:29Over in Middlesbrough,
0:14:29 > 0:14:33ladies' man James is taking his fireman brother Brian to work.
0:14:33 > 0:14:34Morning.
0:14:34 > 0:14:38It looks like the only date in his bed this morning is Meg the dog.
0:14:38 > 0:14:40She kept me up all night.
0:14:40 > 0:14:42Unemployed James will drop his brother off
0:14:42 > 0:14:44and then go to the gym for a workout.
0:14:44 > 0:14:46Spot on.
0:14:48 > 0:14:52The fire station is 3.4 miles away and should be a ten minute drive.
0:14:52 > 0:14:56Afterwards, James will go to the gym around the corner
0:14:56 > 0:14:59but it's an icy morning and the roads are treacherous.
0:14:59 > 0:15:00It's freezing.
0:15:00 > 0:15:03James is keen to get going.
0:15:03 > 0:15:06But the only way he could see the road with THAT windscreen
0:15:06 > 0:15:07is if he's using the Force.
0:15:07 > 0:15:10MUSIC: "Star Wars Theme"
0:15:10 > 0:15:12Can you see at the back?
0:15:12 > 0:15:13Yes.
0:15:13 > 0:15:18James reverses out of his drive with almost no visibility. Oh, dear!
0:15:18 > 0:15:21- I hate driving in ice, me. - BLEEP- hate it.
0:15:21 > 0:15:24Does the road feel grippy, or not? Does it feel bad?
0:15:24 > 0:15:27Not really. It's all right.
0:15:30 > 0:15:33Halfway there, and the windows are still frozen.
0:15:33 > 0:15:36The Force must be strong in this one(!)
0:15:42 > 0:15:46At last, James can see properly! Oh, and his journey's finished.
0:15:46 > 0:15:49- If you can pick me up. - Have good day at work, right.
0:15:49 > 0:15:50Next stop, the gym.
0:15:53 > 0:15:56The Teesside area of Middlesbrough, where James lives,
0:15:56 > 0:15:59is one of the country's worst hit for unemployment.
0:15:59 > 0:16:02And going to the gym is a positive way
0:16:02 > 0:16:05of filling time in-between jobhunting.
0:16:05 > 0:16:07Some people look down their nose at you
0:16:07 > 0:16:09- and think that you just can't be- BLEEP- finding a job
0:16:09 > 0:16:11but I'd to work as a support worker
0:16:11 > 0:16:14for kids with disabilities, mental health, and stuff like that.
0:16:14 > 0:16:17I'm applying for loads of places at the moment
0:16:17 > 0:16:19but it's just hard getting a job round here.
0:16:19 > 0:16:21It does affect him sometimes. I'm not going to lie.
0:16:21 > 0:16:25He does think, "Oh, I'm sick of just being unemployed,"
0:16:25 > 0:16:28but he's coping the best he can with the circumstances.
0:16:28 > 0:16:31So getting his own car would be a huge help
0:16:31 > 0:16:33to James in looking for work.
0:16:37 > 0:16:41The next day, it's time for mum Dawn to watch James's first journey.
0:16:41 > 0:16:44- How are you today? All right?- Good to see you.
0:16:44 > 0:16:46She's invited Ann, an old friend
0:16:46 > 0:16:49who's known James since he was a baby, to help her.
0:16:49 > 0:16:54- Does the road feel grippy, or not? Does it feel bad?- Not really.
0:16:54 > 0:16:57- 'It's all right.' - I think he looks a bit nervous there.
0:16:57 > 0:17:00He did actually say to me, "I hate driving in this weather."
0:17:00 > 0:17:02This is doing my head in. I can't see.
0:17:02 > 0:17:05He can't see. Oh, bless him.
0:17:05 > 0:17:09See, I'd have wiped all them down and the back windows before I got in.
0:17:09 > 0:17:11He's probably overconfident, do you think?
0:17:11 > 0:17:14- I think he's properly just a bit cocky.- Yes, confident. Yes.
0:17:14 > 0:17:18- Passed his test.- You know what them lads are like.- Mm.
0:17:18 > 0:17:21With ten people dying every day on UK roads,
0:17:21 > 0:17:24driving almost the whole way without full vision
0:17:24 > 0:17:29wasn't only dangerous, it won't help James in getting the car.
0:17:31 > 0:17:34Coming up, things get hairy for James on a night out.
0:17:34 > 0:17:36What are you doing?
0:17:37 > 0:17:38And Amy sees red.
0:17:38 > 0:17:40Oh, no, she doesn't.
0:17:40 > 0:17:42... It's a red light.
0:17:50 > 0:17:55Down South? Well, Yorkshire, it's midway through Amy's week.
0:17:55 > 0:17:58She's hoping that her new boob job will pay off today
0:17:58 > 0:18:01as she's off to Manchester on a glamour shoot.
0:18:01 > 0:18:04- I'm really excited.- Are you excited?
0:18:04 > 0:18:08I'm a bit nervous, but, like, it could be amazing if it goes right.
0:18:08 > 0:18:11- It's a big opportunity for me.- It's what you've always wanted to do.
0:18:11 > 0:18:14I know. I'm just a bit shy but it'll be fine. I can't wait.
0:18:14 > 0:18:17Just be confident and everything will be fine. What are you wearing?
0:18:17 > 0:18:20I'm going to wear the bra and knickers I bought the other day
0:18:20 > 0:18:22and just some of the other outfits.
0:18:22 > 0:18:24Bye.
0:18:25 > 0:18:29From her home in West Yorkshire, Amy has to drive around 30 miles
0:18:29 > 0:18:32across the Pennines into neighbouring Lancashire.
0:18:32 > 0:18:35And, once again, the route means she'll have to navigate
0:18:35 > 0:18:38the dreaded M62 motorway.
0:18:38 > 0:18:40I think there must have been an announcement.
0:18:40 > 0:18:44Amy is coming on the motorway so everybody get off.
0:18:44 > 0:18:47# Shut up and drive drive drive
0:18:47 > 0:18:49# Shut up and drive, drive... #
0:18:49 > 0:18:52After a safe, but slow, drive,
0:18:52 > 0:18:56Amy's finally made it to the studio just in time for the glamour shoot.
0:18:59 > 0:19:02Are you all right? I'm Leon. How are you?
0:19:02 > 0:19:04What we need to discuss is the kind of level you want work to
0:19:04 > 0:19:06and the kind of jobs that you're looking to do.
0:19:06 > 0:19:10I want to be a model but I know I haven't got the height or build
0:19:10 > 0:19:14to be like a catwalk model or anything because I'm quite curvy.
0:19:14 > 0:19:16I had my boobs done three weeks ago
0:19:16 > 0:19:19because I didn't have that confidence before.
0:19:19 > 0:19:22So now I've got the confidence I want to start
0:19:22 > 0:19:25getting into more glamour sort of things.
0:19:25 > 0:19:30Right. Our glamour side is that we do Loaded, Nuts.
0:19:30 > 0:19:31We do some TV work as well.
0:19:31 > 0:19:34A large percentage of the people that we have on our website
0:19:34 > 0:19:36don't have a boob job.
0:19:36 > 0:19:40There's quite a small percentage that do have a boob job.
0:19:40 > 0:19:43So Amy didn't need a boob job after all! Oh...
0:19:43 > 0:19:45I wonder how Auntie Amanda is going to react?
0:19:45 > 0:19:48There's only one thing you can't do in front of me
0:19:48 > 0:19:50and that's embarrass yourself.
0:19:53 > 0:19:54Really nice.
0:19:54 > 0:19:56Nice. Nice.
0:19:56 > 0:19:59MUSIC: "Girls On Film" by Duran Duran
0:20:09 > 0:20:11It was a good shoot. You need to work on your facial expressions
0:20:11 > 0:20:14and just concentrate on your body shape as well.
0:20:14 > 0:20:17- Thanks for coming.- Thanks. It's been lovely meeting you.- Take care.
0:20:18 > 0:20:21As the girls get in the car to head home, it's already dark.
0:20:32 > 0:20:35Soon though, the shoot becomes a distant memory
0:20:35 > 0:20:37as Amy struggles to get out of Manchester.
0:20:37 > 0:20:41- I knew it. I- BLEEP- knew it. - This is the wrong way.
0:20:41 > 0:20:45And totally lost, she turns into a dead-end.
0:20:45 > 0:20:47- I can't- BLEEP- deal with it. I can't see a- BLEEP- thing.
0:20:50 > 0:20:54I can't do it, Robin, I'm just proper stressed.
0:20:54 > 0:20:56You'll be fine.
0:20:56 > 0:20:58Amy eventually pulls herself together.
0:20:58 > 0:21:00Anxious and stressed,
0:21:00 > 0:21:03she makes it out of Manchester onto the motorway heading home.
0:21:03 > 0:21:06Am I on a lane? What's happened?
0:21:06 > 0:21:10This lane is going - shrinking. It's shrinking.
0:21:10 > 0:21:12What am I doing? What am I doing? What am I doing?
0:21:12 > 0:21:14- You're OK.- I'm... I'm... I'm not.
0:21:14 > 0:21:16I'm not. I'm not. I need to go left.
0:21:16 > 0:21:18Freaked out by the motorway,
0:21:18 > 0:21:22Amy's come to a complete stop on the slip road.
0:21:22 > 0:21:26And there are cars flying past her on the right at over 70mph.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29Right...now.
0:21:32 > 0:21:35That could have been catastrophic.
0:21:35 > 0:21:38Eventually, the girls make it back home in one piece.
0:21:43 > 0:21:45Later that evening, Amy and Robin decide
0:21:45 > 0:21:48they need to let their hair down after the stress of the drive.
0:21:48 > 0:21:52# Going loco down in Acapulco... #
0:21:52 > 0:21:55And tonight, they're going loco down at Acapulco,
0:21:55 > 0:21:58where the drinks are just 75p.
0:22:00 > 0:22:02Fill your boots!
0:22:02 > 0:22:05# If you want it I'm gonna be ba ba boom-boom
0:22:05 > 0:22:08# If you got it, you got it you got that boom-boom
0:22:08 > 0:22:12# If you want it I'm gonna be ba ba boom-boom
0:22:12 > 0:22:16# If you got it, you got it You got that boom-boom. #
0:22:16 > 0:22:21This has been the first night that I've been able to show the real me.
0:22:21 > 0:22:26I don't care. Real boobs. Expensive boobs. More than everybody's cars.
0:22:26 > 0:22:30I don't care. Realness, it's me - get over it.
0:22:35 > 0:22:38The next day, Lisa has once again sneaked out to her sister's house
0:22:38 > 0:22:43to watch what Amy's been up to over the last couple of days and nights.
0:22:48 > 0:22:50No comment.
0:22:50 > 0:22:53A large percentage of the people that we have on our website
0:22:53 > 0:22:55don't have a boob job.
0:22:56 > 0:23:00You see, a lot of people on their books don't have a boob job.
0:23:00 > 0:23:03She's gone down that route. What she should have done,
0:23:03 > 0:23:06was go and speak to somebody like him first.
0:23:06 > 0:23:09Well, yes, but she still wanted to do it for herself anyway
0:23:09 > 0:23:11for her own confidence, so...
0:23:11 > 0:23:15Regardless of that, she would still have wanted it doing.
0:23:15 > 0:23:18Am I on a lane? What's happened to this lane?
0:23:23 > 0:23:26- Just get me out of here. - No, I don't want to watch it.
0:23:26 > 0:23:27I don't want her on the motorway.
0:23:27 > 0:23:30No, I don't want her on the motorway. That's horrendous.
0:23:30 > 0:23:33Horrendous. She hadn't got a clue what she was doing
0:23:33 > 0:23:35and she is not safe to be on the motorway.
0:23:35 > 0:23:38- No.- No. She's lucky she's not dead.
0:23:38 > 0:23:39No, I agree.
0:23:39 > 0:23:44Now the bit that's bound to impress no-nonsense Auntie Amanda.
0:23:44 > 0:23:46Did she forget to get dressed?
0:23:46 > 0:23:49She went through her clothes and could find nothing to wear,
0:23:49 > 0:23:50that's all she could find.
0:23:53 > 0:23:58She looks a different girl there than when she's driving.
0:23:58 > 0:24:00You can see. She's happy, she's relaxed, she's silly
0:24:00 > 0:24:04and I love that. I love that about her, but I like the fact that
0:24:04 > 0:24:07as soon as she gets into the car she kind of just switches.
0:24:07 > 0:24:09And she has a sensible head on.
0:24:09 > 0:24:11She's making mistakes
0:24:11 > 0:24:14but they're borne out of inexperience not out of attitude.
0:24:14 > 0:24:15Her attitude is right.
0:24:15 > 0:24:19- I'd rather watch that than watch her driving.- I'd rather watch that.
0:24:20 > 0:24:23Luckily Lisa and Amanda won't be alone in deciding
0:24:23 > 0:24:27whether Amy deserves her own car or needs more lessons.
0:24:27 > 0:24:29Former traffic cop Judith Roberts
0:24:29 > 0:24:31has also been watching Amy's driving.
0:24:31 > 0:24:34With 20 years' experience on the force, Judith's job
0:24:34 > 0:24:38is to help and advise Lisa and Amanda.
0:24:38 > 0:24:41I'd like to have seen her grow in confidence, but actually
0:24:41 > 0:24:45this journey, she's made one or two potentially fatal mistakes.
0:24:45 > 0:24:48Her attitude to driving is very good.
0:24:48 > 0:24:52But her ability and her awareness is really knocking her confidence.
0:24:52 > 0:24:55And that's making the whole drive very, very dangerous
0:24:55 > 0:24:59With only one journey to go, Amy will have to drive
0:24:59 > 0:25:02out of her skin to have any chance of getting her own car.
0:25:07 > 0:25:11Up on Teesside, James has a night on the lash planned.
0:25:11 > 0:25:14Cheerio, Mum. I'll let you know when we get there.
0:25:14 > 0:25:16So he's taking brother Brian
0:25:16 > 0:25:18and a few mates shopping in Newcastle.
0:25:18 > 0:25:24Middlesbrough to Newcastle is a 44-mile straight run up the A19
0:25:24 > 0:25:26so should take James about an hour.
0:25:26 > 0:25:30And then there's Newcastle's infamous one-way system to navigate.
0:25:35 > 0:25:38After the mini trip, dropping Brian off to work,
0:25:38 > 0:25:42this journey will really show James's skills behind the wheel.
0:25:42 > 0:25:46Having picked up mates Rob and Dan, James is now saddled with
0:25:46 > 0:25:48a car full of backseat drivers.
0:25:48 > 0:25:52- James, don't. Don't.- BLEEP BLEEP - He's out of it.
0:25:52 > 0:25:54You're a dodgy driver today.
0:25:54 > 0:25:58- You are a shit driver today. - I think I'm a really good driver.
0:25:58 > 0:26:00I'm better than all of you.
0:26:00 > 0:26:03All right, lads, I'm sure you're all brilliant(!)
0:26:08 > 0:26:10Once they hit Newcastle,
0:26:10 > 0:26:12James and his mates head straight for the shops.
0:26:12 > 0:26:16- I want something that no-one's got. - What's that.
0:26:16 > 0:26:18I would wear that.
0:26:18 > 0:26:22All I need is some shoes, but I don't like blazers.
0:26:22 > 0:26:24Unemployed James buys nothing.
0:26:24 > 0:26:26After mooching around for an hour,
0:26:26 > 0:26:30and with no retail therapy in sight, they decide to make tracks.
0:26:32 > 0:26:34They're keen to get back to Middlesbrough
0:26:34 > 0:26:37to get bang on the pre-drinks before their big night out.
0:26:37 > 0:26:40Just can't wait to get pissed now.
0:26:41 > 0:26:43Is anyone else dizzy?
0:26:43 > 0:26:48Getting home is straight down the A19 again. Easy.
0:26:48 > 0:26:50Or so you'd think.
0:26:50 > 0:26:52Yes, this is it.
0:26:52 > 0:26:53You go here.
0:26:53 > 0:26:57- You go there, mate. - I'm trying.- BLEEP- sake.
0:26:57 > 0:26:58- BLEEP- sake!
0:27:00 > 0:27:02Now heading completely in the wrong direction,
0:27:02 > 0:27:05the backseat drivers do their best to help out.
0:27:05 > 0:27:08Keep going until you reach the roundabout and turn left.
0:27:08 > 0:27:10No, don't turn left at the roundabout.
0:27:10 > 0:27:13Mate, you want straight up there where that warehouse thing is.
0:27:13 > 0:27:15- Keep going.- Not this roundabout. Straight over.
0:27:15 > 0:27:18- Up to the big roundabout and turn left.- Be quiet.
0:27:18 > 0:27:20- You are about as much help as a- BLEEP- chocolate dildo.
0:27:20 > 0:27:24- Don't go up there. - Up there?- No, you don't go up there.
0:27:24 > 0:27:25You go down.
0:27:25 > 0:27:28THEY TALK OVER EACH OTHER
0:27:28 > 0:27:30- Which way is it?- BLEEP
0:27:30 > 0:27:32Don't go up here.
0:27:32 > 0:27:34I'm going to need to pull over for ten minutes.
0:27:34 > 0:27:36- I'm- BLEEP- stressed the- BLEEP- out now.

0:36:33 > 0:36:37But this week, having the car, if she's said, "Get some milk," I've been able to.
0:36:37 > 0:36:40It's really convenient to have a car.
0:36:44 > 0:36:47With the car safely back at the hotel,

0:37:06 > 0:37:08then drive back in the morning.
0:37:11 > 0:37:15Although not strictly sticking to her two-drink limit,
0:37:15 > 0:37:18Amy plans on being sane and sober
0:37:18 > 0:37:20for the long drive back home tomorrow,
0:37:26 > 0:37:30The next day, Amy's bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

0:37:37 > 0:37:39Thought that through, didn't I?
0:37:39 > 0:37:42Although she's hangover-free,
0:37:42 > 0:37:44Amy's made a mistake, straight out of the blocks.

0:38:04 > 0:38:06- BLEEP- it's red lights.
0:38:08 > 0:38:11After another drive on the hated motorway,
0:38:11 > 0:38:13Amy's just a few miles from home.
0:38:16 > 0:38:18But as she approaches traffic lights,
0:38:18 > 0:38:21suddenly there's ten tonnes of bus heading towards her.
0:38:21 > 0:38:23HORN BLARES
0:38:23 > 0:38:26Instead of giving way, she illegally cuts in front of it.
0:38:26 > 0:38:28What did I do wrong there?
0:38:28 > 0:38:31Don't think I actually did that wrong.
0:38:32 > 0:38:35Completely oblivious to her narrow escape,

0:39:08 > 0:39:11I'd like to see a vast improvement before I make
0:39:11 > 0:39:13any final decisions.
0:39:13 > 0:39:16As Judith, Amy's mum, Lisa
0:39:16 > 0:39:19and Aunt Amanda sit down to watch Amy's final drive,
0:39:19 > 0:39:23they're worried about seeing Amy negotiate a motorway again.

0:39:30 > 0:39:33She's all right!
0:39:33 > 0:39:34SHE LAUGHS

0:39:43 > 0:39:47She's been stranded and I can't do anything about it.
0:39:47 > 0:39:50But hearing Amy talk so candidly about her illness
0:39:50 > 0:39:52proves too much for Lisa.
0:39:52 > 0:39:54I just don't want her worried about me.
0:39:54 > 0:39:58It just touches me that she's out and getting ready,
0:39:58 > 0:40:03yet she's still thinking about me. It would make a difference. We could just get in the car.
0:40:03 > 0:40:05I won't get too drunk cos I'm driving in the morning.
0:40:05 > 0:40:08I think that's a really good point.

0:40:24 > 0:40:26God, she was lucky there.
0:40:26 > 0:40:31That bus, if it had hit her, would have flipped her over. They'd have ended up on the roof.
0:40:31 > 0:40:34I don't need to tell you anything after that.
0:40:34 > 0:40:37Just because she's not concentrating.
0:40:37 > 0:40:38That is dreadful.
0:40:39 > 0:40:41How do we feel about that?
0:40:41 > 0:40:43It's a worry.
0:40:43 > 0:40:49- And a shame, because she actually got there quite well.- Yeah.
0:40:49 > 0:40:53- She did.- And the next morning...wallop!
0:40:53 > 0:40:56It's a very difficult decision for me.
0:40:56 > 0:40:59I understand a car would be very beneficial to you.
0:40:59 > 0:41:02I'll be interested to ask Amy a few questions
0:41:02 > 0:41:04to see how she feels she got on.
0:41:06 > 0:41:09Meanwhile, Amy's heading over to her aunt's house.

0:41:56 > 0:41:58Oh, my God!
0:41:58 > 0:42:00I'm trying to think.
0:42:00 > 0:42:01I think I did well.
0:42:01 > 0:42:04Despite the shock, Amy gets comfortable to watch
0:42:04 > 0:42:06herself in the driving seat.
0:42:06 > 0:42:10- Ready?- Yeah...no...maybe.
0:42:10 > 0:42:15Everything's going smoothly. Don't panic. We're going the right speed.
0:42:15 > 0:42:16We're going the right way.
0:42:18 > 0:42:23- Can I go?- BLEEP - Can you get me out of here?
0:42:23 > 0:42:25- This bit actually made me feel a bit sick.- Same.
0:42:28 > 0:42:31- See what you did?- Hm.- BLEEP
0:42:33 > 0:42:36- BLEEP- red. It's a red light. Red lights, that's why.
0:42:36 > 0:42:38Couldn't see it though, because I had passed it.
0:42:38 > 0:42:43I couldn't have seen the light anyway. What did I do wrong there?
0:42:44 > 0:42:47When you turned in front of that bus,
0:42:47 > 0:42:50I'm not sure where your thought process was.
0:42:50 > 0:42:55- I think it was just...it was the last journey.- It could've been.- Ever. AMY LAUGHS
0:42:55 > 0:42:57No, I'm being serious.
0:42:57 > 0:43:02That could have been you and your passenger's last journey ever.
0:43:02 > 0:43:05Having seen the evidence, Amy gets the chance to defend herself.
0:43:05 > 0:43:08The mistakes have been pointed out, which I understand,
0:43:08 > 0:43:11cos I knew I made them, but at the same time,
0:43:11 > 0:43:15I passed in August and I have never, ever been in a car since.
0:43:15 > 0:43:18I think you have a very responsible attitude to driving,
0:43:18 > 0:43:23but I do think your ability to drive is lacking.
0:43:23 > 0:43:25I am very capable.
0:43:25 > 0:43:28If I did have my own car, I wouldn't make the same mistakes that I've made
0:43:28 > 0:43:33but I'd gain this experience that is crucial to become a driver.
0:43:33 > 0:43:35If you don't have a car, you're not going to progress.
0:43:35 > 0:43:38It's time for the verdict.
0:43:38 > 0:43:41Will it be a car or advanced driving lessons?
0:43:41 > 0:43:43Having looked at all the footage,
0:43:43 > 0:43:45I've decided...
0:43:45 > 0:43:49you would benefit from an advanced driving course.
0:43:49 > 0:43:54I would worry if I sanctioned a car for you and you were then to go
0:43:54 > 0:43:57and have a horrible accident because you weren't quite ready.
0:43:57 > 0:44:00I have to say...
0:44:00 > 0:44:03I'm so sorry, but I do agree. All right, sweetie?
0:44:08 > 0:44:11Having a car would have helped Amy and her mum,
0:44:11 > 0:44:14but panicking on the motorway and a near miss with a bus
0:44:14 > 0:44:17means that she loses out on getting a car of her own.
0:44:32 > 0:44:37Amy's week is over, but James still has one more night out to go.
0:44:37 > 0:44:39Despite vowing he would never return,
0:44:39 > 0:44:42he's heading back to Newcastle for a night's clubbing.
0:44:44 > 0:44:46But first, it's pre-drinks at Dan's.
0:44:46 > 0:44:50- Will James be able to resist a bevvy?- I don't want one.
0:44:50 > 0:44:53So tonight, he's our taxi driver, he's our babysitter...
0:44:53 > 0:44:57James and twin Brian normally do everything together, but tonight,
0:44:57 > 0:44:58it's just Brian getting on it.
0:44:58 > 0:45:00I want to see James chill out.
0:45:00 > 0:45:04- Have faith in your brother. - Go on then. Enjoy it.
0:45:07 > 0:45:09- After one, sound.- I'm fine.
0:45:12 > 0:45:16James has done this journey before so it should be easy.
0:45:16 > 0:45:18If he heads straight up the A19,
0:45:18 > 0:45:20they should get to the club in under an hour.
0:45:20 > 0:45:23The big question is, will he drink once he's there?
0:45:29 > 0:45:31- OK, so necking that Bulmers did- BLEEP- me up.
0:45:31 > 0:45:35So you can't do it and Brian has to do it, basically. Prove it.
0:45:38 > 0:45:40The boys are making good time.
0:45:40 > 0:45:42But maybe James isn't driving fast enough
0:45:42 > 0:45:47- when there's a full bladder in the car.- I need a proper bad- BLEEP
0:45:47 > 0:45:51- Pull up or something.- No. - I really need a wee-wee.
0:45:51 > 0:45:55- It's all in your head.- BLEEP- Wow!
0:45:56 > 0:45:59- I need a wee.- Oh, Brian, so you- BLEEP- said.
0:45:59 > 0:46:02- BLEEP- your studs.- I can feel it coming through.
0:46:02 > 0:46:03What am I going to do?
0:46:03 > 0:46:07- "City centre, left." - My God, what am I going to do?
0:46:07 > 0:46:10I'm going to wee myself. Oh, no.
0:46:10 > 0:46:14If the worst comes to the worst, you'll have to use a bottle.
0:46:14 > 0:46:18- I'm not being funny. - Don't make me laugh, please.
0:46:19 > 0:46:22What am I going to do?
0:46:22 > 0:46:24Brian can't hold on.
0:46:24 > 0:46:29Fearing for the upholstery of his mum's car, James gives in and illegally pulls over.
0:46:29 > 0:46:32- Get out, Brian.- I'm going out.
0:46:39 > 0:46:41Hello, dear. How are you?
0:46:46 > 0:46:49Oh, much, much better.
0:46:49 > 0:46:51Oh, crisis over.
0:46:51 > 0:46:55The lads hit the club and the drinks, but James wisely sticks to water.
0:46:57 > 0:47:00The club is packed and it doesn't take long for twin Brian to get lucky.
0:47:00 > 0:47:03Oh, it looks like mate Michael's in there too.
0:47:08 > 0:47:14How is James doing? Not very well on the girls front but at least he is still on the waters.
0:47:16 > 0:47:20It's not looking like his night, till Rob comes to the rescue.
0:47:26 > 0:47:30- Finally, it's kicking out time. - It was a good night.
0:47:30 > 0:47:32I think I'm the only sober one but...
0:47:32 > 0:47:36I didn't get pissed and I still had a good night so I'm happy. Successful.
0:47:36 > 0:47:40All James has to do now is get everyone home safely.
0:47:45 > 0:47:49It's 4am. The roads are empty and everyone is relaxed,
0:47:49 > 0:47:53not realising that there is a taxi approaching them at breakneck speed.
0:47:55 > 0:47:56- Oh!- BLEEP- What are you doing?!
0:47:56 > 0:47:59BLEEP
0:47:59 > 0:48:05James swerved and missed that car by centimetres. It was a close call.
0:48:05 > 0:48:09- Jesus.- BLEEP- hell. - What an absolute- BLEEP
0:48:09 > 0:48:11- Why didn't he put his- BLEEP - indicator on, the divvy?
0:48:11 > 0:48:13- I didn't do nowt wrong there, did I?- No.
0:48:13 > 0:48:17- See the car swing back there. - BLEEP- swang there.
0:48:17 > 0:48:18I thought I was going to tip.
0:48:18 > 0:48:21Badly shaken but thankfully sober,
0:48:21 > 0:48:24James gets everyone home in one piece.
0:48:29 > 0:48:32Two days later, and ex-traffic cop Judith arrives for James's
0:48:32 > 0:48:36final viewing with mum Dawn and her friend Ann.
0:48:36 > 0:48:41They sit down together to watch James's third and final dramatic car trip.
0:48:41 > 0:48:43What am I going to do? I'm going to wee myself!
0:48:43 > 0:48:47- You have got this guy in distress.- I know.
0:48:47 > 0:48:50- And that is putting James under... - Pressure.- Yes.
0:48:50 > 0:48:54- Be interesting to watch what they're like a night out.- It isn't.
0:48:54 > 0:48:59- I don't want to see.- Well, there's Brian fixed up.
0:48:59 > 0:49:03- Oh, Dan! No need for that. - Oh, that is disgusting.
0:49:03 > 0:49:08- Showing his bottom. - His bum is hanging out.
0:49:08 > 0:49:10I think sometimes it has really got him down
0:49:10 > 0:49:12about not being able to work.
0:49:12 > 0:49:15They have changed this last year, I think.
0:49:15 > 0:49:19Didn't get pissed and I still had a good night so I'm happy. Successful.
0:49:19 > 0:49:23And that is really refreshing to hear. He's had a good time.
0:49:26 > 0:49:29- BLEEP- What are you doing?
0:49:29 > 0:49:33That could have been fatal.
0:49:33 > 0:49:36That could have been...
0:49:36 > 0:49:38That car has drifted into James's lane,
0:49:38 > 0:49:43so James is driving perfectly well and he's kept his passengers safe.
0:49:43 > 0:49:47- If he'd even had one drink, his reactions...- Reactions...
0:49:47 > 0:49:50..would have been much slower.
0:49:50 > 0:49:52That could have been a completely different scenario.
0:49:52 > 0:49:56That has shaken them because that was really close.
0:49:56 > 0:49:58On the whole, I think they did really, really well.
0:49:58 > 0:50:00I'm proud that he hasn't drank.
0:50:00 > 0:50:04The way he handled the situation with the car pulling into his lane.
0:50:04 > 0:50:06I'm really chuffed with him.
0:50:06 > 0:50:08I know that issue is ultimately mine
0:50:08 > 0:50:11so I can be the bad guy or I can be the good guy,
0:50:11 > 0:50:15- so we'll see what happens when we have a chat with him.- OK.
0:50:22 > 0:50:24James arrives back at the house,
0:50:24 > 0:50:26thinking he's just dropping the keys off to his mum.
0:50:26 > 0:50:31He's totally unaware about what's lying in store for him when he walks in.
0:50:31 > 0:50:35Hello, James. What it is... I have a little confession.
0:50:35 > 0:50:38Right.
0:50:38 > 0:50:41What's been happening is while you have been doing this,
0:50:41 > 0:50:44me and Ann have been watching things on...everything, really.
0:50:44 > 0:50:46We have had to comment on different things.
0:50:46 > 0:50:49- Is it a bad thing? Her face... - It's not a bad thing.
0:50:49 > 0:50:52It is just certain things that we need to maybe talk about with you.
0:50:52 > 0:50:54This is Judith. I would like to introduce Judith.
0:50:54 > 0:50:58What Judith is, James, she is an ex-police traffic officer
0:50:58 > 0:51:02- and she'd like to talk to you about certain things.- Should I be worried?
0:51:02 > 0:51:05No. Not necessarily.
0:51:05 > 0:51:07I've been watching, really, to give
0:51:07 > 0:51:12some input into what you've done right and what you've done wrong.
0:51:12 > 0:51:14There is a slight twist.
0:51:14 > 0:51:19If I think that you could benefit from advanced driving lessons,
0:51:19 > 0:51:22then you would gone on an advanced driving course.
0:51:22 > 0:51:24If I think that you are driving OK,
0:51:24 > 0:51:26and I think that you would benefit of having
0:51:26 > 0:51:30a car of your own, then that's something that you would be given.
0:51:32 > 0:51:36- What, my own car?- Yes. How do you feel about that?
0:51:36 > 0:51:41- Do you think you would benefit from your own car?- Yeah.
0:51:41 > 0:51:44Or do you think you would benefit from doing
0:51:44 > 0:51:48- an advanced driving course? - I think my driving's good, me.
0:51:48 > 0:51:52I think it is good. I wasn't expecting this. But yeah.
0:51:52 > 0:51:54I'd love it, yeah.
0:51:56 > 0:51:59James now gets to see his driving for himself.
0:52:04 > 0:52:05Talk me through this bit.
0:52:05 > 0:52:08Couldn't see, obviously, out of the back window,
0:52:08 > 0:52:11so I was having Brian looking out of the side window and stuff like that.
0:52:11 > 0:52:14But, yeah, it fogs up quite quick. The glass.
0:52:14 > 0:52:18Most accidents happen within 100 yards of home.
0:52:18 > 0:52:21It is little things but these little things mount up to,
0:52:21 > 0:52:24potentially, quite serious things.
0:52:24 > 0:52:27- 'Yes.- BLEEP- and- BLEEP
0:52:27 > 0:52:29I was so drunk then!
0:52:29 > 0:52:3344 years and I have never been that drunk in my life.
0:52:33 > 0:52:35- 'Ohhh!'- BLEEP
0:52:35 > 0:52:38Yeah, the taxi didn't indicate.
0:52:38 > 0:52:40- You told us about this, James.- Yeah.
0:52:40 > 0:52:46- But listen to this. - If you'd had one drink,
0:52:46 > 0:52:48your reactions would have been a lot slower
0:52:48 > 0:52:52and you or your four passengers could have been killed.
0:52:52 > 0:52:56- It was horrible. I was shook up for like, five minutes.- We could tell.
0:52:56 > 0:53:00- It all went quiet. - And there's one final shock.
0:53:00 > 0:53:04In the car, there's a little telemetry box which I don't know that you know about.
0:53:04 > 0:53:07It records all your speed and everything when we're not filming.
0:53:07 > 0:53:12And actually, the data on that has come back. You've done very well.
0:53:12 > 0:53:14It's decision time.
0:53:15 > 0:53:19So, on this occasion, I think you would deserve the car.
0:53:21 > 0:53:24- Oh, my God!- He's in shock.
0:53:29 > 0:53:33- Cheers.- Bless you. You take care in it.
0:53:33 > 0:53:36So I've got my own car?
0:53:36 > 0:53:39I got the biggest shock when I walked through there and you came up with your speech
0:53:39 > 0:53:42and you were sat there and I thought, what have I done?
0:53:42 > 0:53:47What has happened here? I am shaking now. Good little twist to end the show!
0:53:47 > 0:53:51You got me there. I am over the moon.
0:53:51 > 0:53:56James has got the car that should really help in his hunt for a job.
0:53:56 > 0:54:00And who's the first person he wants to tell? Twin Brian, of course.
0:54:00 > 0:54:04They have given me my own car with insurance and MOT and tax.
0:54:04 > 0:54:07Swear down, honestly. They have given me my own car.
0:54:09 > 0:54:12I'm not flying, mate. I'm being serious. Bye.
0:54:12 > 0:54:15If I'm lying, I'm going to get hit in the face.
0:54:22 > 0:54:24A few weeks later,
0:54:24 > 0:54:27it's time for James to pick up the keys to his new car.
0:54:27 > 0:54:29Thanks a lot, mate.
0:54:29 > 0:54:34As Brian is at work, mate Jeff has come along for the ride.
0:54:34 > 0:54:36I'm more than happy with it. I love it.
0:54:36 > 0:54:41See, it makes inks easier as well. Me and Brian. The whole sharing a car situation.
0:54:41 > 0:54:42Especially if I get a job as well
0:54:42 > 0:54:46and he stays at the Fire Brigade and I get my own little job.
0:54:46 > 0:54:49And I've got my car as well so, happy days.
0:54:49 > 0:54:53James drives happily off in a car that will hopefully be
0:54:53 > 0:54:56the first step in turning his life around.
0:55:00 > 0:55:04The day has also arrived for Amy's advanced driving course.
0:55:04 > 0:55:06Wonderful.
0:55:06 > 0:55:09- Well done.- I have really, really enjoyed today.
0:55:09 > 0:55:12It has been so much more fun than I thought it would we.
0:55:13 > 0:55:16Far too much.
0:55:16 > 0:55:21This experience is, like, invaluable and even if it just
0:55:21 > 0:55:24stops me from one hazard, that could save someone's life.
0:55:24 > 0:55:27And Amy's mum has made a decision.
0:55:27 > 0:55:30I wanted her to get driving as soon as possible.
0:55:30 > 0:55:32Because I can't drive at the moment.
0:55:32 > 0:55:34So we managed to get her a car
0:55:34 > 0:55:39and she is absolutely thrilled to bits with that. So we're happy.
0:55:39 > 0:55:43I feel much happier for Amy to have her own car
0:55:43 > 0:55:48and I personally think all young drivers should do this.
0:55:48 > 0:55:54Next time on Barely Legal Drivers we meet two very different teenagers.
0:55:54 > 0:55:58Whoa! Oh, my gosh! Indicate, you idiot!
0:55:58 > 0:56:01- Ha-ha!- Give it a push.
0:56:02 > 0:56:04Six shots for a fiver.
0:56:06 > 0:56:08Oh!
0:56:08 > 0:56:12- Do we look like wankers?- Oh!
